* Once he’s more comfortable, he’ll happily wear the outfits you picked out for him! Even on the outings to the mall or fancy restaurants! But honestly nothing makes him feel more comfortable with you than you giving him so much freedom as well. You gave him your credit card?! To buy anything he wants?! That’s a major trust thing holy shit- he almost feels like he’s using you. But your reassurance makes him feel at ease.

You watched as the spider demon came downstairs. Your face flushed as you saw him wearing the dress you had bought that was custom made just for him. He chuckled and closed your jaw that was hanging low from shock.

“Gonna attract flies hun,” he chuckled, a little flattered at your reaction as well.

“Heh….i hope I’m attracting your kisses too,” You answer back with a playful grin.

Angel giggled a little, “Keep that up and you’ll be attracting MUCH more tonight~” You both share a kiss and walk out together, hand in hand with no shame as all of hell watched you too. You didn’t mind what they said. What mattered was him and his happiness.

* He knew instantly you were a rich kinda person. As a bartender, he picks up on stuff like this all the time. He actually didn’t like you at first. Thought you were some kind of showboat. But you did shock him when you said you were more focused on him than anything else. He was a tough nut to crack but after many visits to his bar and getting to know each other, he FINALLY gave you a chance.

* Spoiling this lil shit was HARD. He didn’t like a lot of things. But you did get his favorite booze. And booze of all kinds. He actually was impressed by how much you knew but told you not to spoil him so much- but his favorite gift was a cute bow tie you got for him. He wears it to special events✨

* You really do try to respect his wishes on not spoiling him but seeing him look so exhausted after a long day of dealing with crap at his bar? Oh you HAVE to do something! So slick little you actually decided on the perfect date! A date to the spa! You never seen him get so relaxed before! Thoooough he did figure out you were trying to spoil him again…but this time he won’t complain✨

Honestly I kind of. Like. When a character has to grapple with the fact they still have some love for a person despite that person being a complete piece of shit that hurt them and other around them. Remembering the good moments they had despite the hatred they feel, not being able to replace them entirely by what they think they should feel.

Basically I wish Berryheart died a death deserving of the cunt she actually is, but I was soooo hoping Sunbeam would have character growth of going from "I loved her even if she was a bitch she was still my mom" to trying to paint over that love with righteous anger for what she did to her siblings and father, and not just "my mom was actually great she just had hate in her heart but she was a good mom :((("

(Ok no, I kind of also want Sparrowtail and Spireclaw to have worse consequences but this is not about them)

Anyway, that's what also disappointed me. What about you Bones? What's the Berryheart stew brewing like so far?

Our stew is the same stock. I LOVE complicated parental relationships, imo, it's one of the most interesting types of connection to consider. But I don't think it's so interesting because it's "magical blood connection" the way the Erins seem to

In fact, I don't think it's really the genes you share that tie you, at all-- it's that a parental bond is irreplaceable. You're only a kid once and you WILL model your caretakers, so these people inevitably teach you how to approach life. Whether the person who takes on that role is a relative, a guardian, or a peer who never should have had that responsibility in the first place, that connection (or lack thereof) gave you that first impression of the world.

It's just a shame, at the end of the day. They had an incredible opportunity here to have Sunbeam unpack the fact her mother was toxic, experience firsthand what it feels like to be part of a supportive family in the Firekin, show Berryheart doing the selfish and violent thing over and over... and STILL have Sunbeam struggling with the fact she loves her.

She can try and quash it with righteous fury. Play back the memories in her mind and understand that many of those "jokes," those "good times," were thinly veiled cruelty. See her mother for the fearful, angry person she truly was... and still not be able to change the desperate pit of longing in her stomach.

I don't know if Berryheart's Redemption Death was because of the Erin bioparent worship, OR because they didn't want to have Sunbeam contradict Nightheart's feelings about his own mom, OR just their unhinged amount of sympathy towards bigoted characters... but, we had three fascinating setups here, and each one ended in the worst possible way.

I think that makes it PRETTY clear what my intentions are there. There is no chance in hell I'm keeping Berryheart's Tom Moment.

I flatly refuse to end the arc of a character whose most noteworthy action was attempting to hatecrime her in-laws with "awww she loved her daughter." Get OUT. I'm making her WORSE.

Hi friends ^.^

I've been absent for a while, and there are multiple reasons for that, but long story short- I lost all my writing motivation and any joy I ever had for creating. I worried that it would never come back. I still worry that it won't ever return to the way it used to be but I can happily say that it's not quite as bad now.

Unexpectedly the passion for writing came back yesterday, out of nowhere, just bam, you can write again! So I've been slowly working on the next chapter of Area of Effect and just wanted to share a little piece of it with you. <3 <3

“What are we playing for?” He asked.

Atem laughed as he handed him a can, sitting down on the floor opposite him. 

“Do you only play when stakes are involved?” Atem asked him. 

“I do when someone questions my abilities.” He huffed. 

“Oh yeah?” Atem smirked, leaning back on his hands as he looked back at him. “Well then, perhaps we should make things more interesting, hm?” 

“I’m keen to hear what you’re thinking.” He said with a smile, taking a sip of the drink he’d been given. 

Atem hummed, looking around the room then back at the board between them. 

“Hang on.” Atem said, pushing himself up onto his hands and knees, crawling a few paces to the shelves against the wall where he began to rummage for something. Yami decided to sip his drink again and try to keep his eyes off Atems ass. He failed. “Ah. Here.” 

Atem returned to his spot opposite him and placed a box of playing cards between them. He looked up at Atem and raised an eyebrow.

“Can you play poker?” Atem asked him. 

“Yeah.” He laughed. “Although it might not be the best choice, I’d hate to take all of your money.” 

Atems lips pulled up into a confident smirk, his eyes held the promise of a challenge and Yami felt his stomach turn in excitement. 

“Oh I wasn’t thinking we’d play for money.” Atem told him. “I was thinking about something else we could both lose…” 

He tilted his head to the side, placing his drink down on the floor next to him. He couldn’t think of anything else they could bet, maybe it was just a matter of pride? Maybe that's all Atem meant. 

“Like what?” He asked. 

“Ever played strip poker?” Atem asked.

Yami almost choked on his own breath, that was something he hadn’t expected to hear at all…but maybe it would be a good idea… he would like to see Atem wearing significantly less than he was right now after all. 

“You’re sure about that?” He said. 

“I am.” Atem smiled at him. “But are you? I’ve been told I’m quite good at this game.” 

“I guess we’ll see about that.” He said with a laugh. “I’m in.” 

“Wonderful.” Atem grinned at him then pushed the board and game pieces to the side that they’d been using previously. He watched as Atem opened the box of cards, tipped them out and shuffled them deftly. 

Atem had clearly done this many times before, and perhaps Yami would have been impressed by the way he moved the cards effortlessly between his hands, how he fanned them out and slid them back together, but no…his mind was firmly in the gutter as he wondered just how those hands would feel on him. 

He cleared his throat awkwardly and took another sip of his drink, although they both knew they were very clearly interested in each other, they hadn’t quite managed to talk about what they wanted from this yet. 

But here they were, about to play strip poker and he was going to lose his mind he was sure. 

Their cards were dealt and the game began. Unexpectedly, he lost the first round. With a sigh, he reached up to his hair, pulling out his hair tie and dropping it to the floor between them. 

He picked up his can and took another sip before he caught the way Atem was looking at him. “What?” He asked as he lowered the can. 

“You do know the rules of this game, right?” Atem asked, eyebrows raised. 

“Of course I do.” He scoffed. “Do you?” 

The noise Atem made was a mix of shock and irritation. “So tell me how a hair tie counts as clothing.” 

He smirked, placing his can on the ground and leaning back on his hands, looking back at Atem, allowing himself just a moment more to enjoy the look on his face. 

“Well clothing is something you wear, right?” He paused, Atem nodded. “And what do you do with a hair tie? You wear it. So I’d say that meets the definition of clothing.” 

There was a moment where Atem said nothing, he just stared at him, then a smile tugged at his lips and he laughed. 

“I knew there was a reason I liked you.” Atem said, shaking his head and chuckling as he shuffled the cards again. “Oh, this is going to be fun.” 

He grinned as Atem dealt the next hand.

You Should Make a Personal Website

I don't mean a site to promote a business, or for financial purposes, or anything like that. No, I mean just a basic website about something you like. Make a site talking about a series you like to read or watch. Make a shrine to a ship that you enjoy. Make a weird, experimental, scattershot archive of your favorite gifs or weird fonts that you've collected over the years.

It's honestly a lot easier than you would think, despite what every single advertisement for Squarespace would have you believe.

First, why would you want to do this, making your own personal website if you don't have a big purpose for it? Well, back when the web was fresh and new, folks would just set up a web page just for the sake of sharing an interest that they had, or talking about some little nuance that they enjoyed. It could have been as broad or as simple as a person wanted, and like-minded sites, rather than vying for space on a search engine's front page, would be connected together with each other via things called web rings, basically a group of similarly themed websites that helped to promote each other just by virtue of being part of the same group. And then, of course, there were personal link collections, a massive dump of other sites that the webmaster thought were worth sharing that might lead outside the limits of any web ring they were a part of.

Beyond just sharing an interest or a passion with the world, regardless of how small or narrow it might seem to others, a web site is an experimental canvas to express yourself, your own little slice of the internet where you can do basically whatever you want with it. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact perfection is something that should be ignored when it comes to your own vision. We've been trained to look at websites and see them as these incredibly slick, sleek looking, perfect and polished, suit-and-tie landing pages that are more just there to entice you into whatever a business is trying to see you. There are very few web pages out there in the major space of the web that pack as much personality as a thrown together Geocities site. Even sites that are attempting to have more of a laid back, casual aesthetic tend to be so precisely designed that it loses a lot of the magic of a site being built by an inexperienced hand, or someone who isn't interested in making something sleek and appealing. Yes, you want your site to be legible, at least, but the dearth of creativity in modern websites can't really be denied. So many of them look the same or use the same sort of default layout. Not saying that older sites didn't sometimes have similar layouts as well, but the odds of seeing at least a unique spin or font or color combination is much, much higher.

Compare that to where most folks will gather to share their creations nowadays, social media sites. In general, the creative freedom that you have over, say, a twitter profile or a facebook page, is very limited and in general, your stuff is basically just put into a big feed that folks will scroll over or past as they flip along their phones.

But don't you have to know how to program or write code to make a really impressive website? After all, we have tons of services like Squarespace and Wix and the plugin market for things like Wordpress that are meant to make the arduous process of building a site as quick, easy, and painless as possible.

Speaking of someone who works on a Wix site as part of my day job, I hate things like their drag-and-drop interface. It is, at least from my experience, slow and clunky and despite the variety of options presenting to you, most of them feel very limited and samey, with little room for individual expression. Add to it, they also show you a lot of options that you can't access if you aren't paying for certain tiers of service, so there is also an element of upselling to their services that I really don't appreciate.

When it comes to building a personal site, all you really need to know is HTML, CSS, and a little bit of Java, but only if you want the site to have some cute little interactive elements, which are totally optional. HTML is honestly super easy to learn, because it's not even really a coding laguage, it's more of a language for structure. You wrap things in specific tags that tell the text how to present itself. HTML on its own is very easy to learn and there isn't a huge amount too it, but it is very ugly on its own.

That's where CSS comes in. Not going to front, CSS is, for me, the most confusing part of the process. It's important, but it's also overwhelming. CSS is is a LOT looser in terms of its setup compared to HTML and is meant to do a lot more; it is used to alter the font, the color, how pictures look, the placement of text and elements, the shape of buttons and links, everything about how a website looks beyond its very basic structure, which is built off of HTML.

Beyond that, if you do want to have some fun little widgets here and there, a little bit of Javascript can help add a bit of pizzazz to your site, but it is far from necessary, especially if you're still learning. You're allowed to be sloppy and imperfect, you are allowed to make something that isn't visually cohesive or even all that appealing at first. You are learning. You are making something for fun, or because you enjoy it, or enjoy what you're trying to communicate.  Learn HTML, take your time learning CSS, and then after you've had some fun getting to grips with the absolute basics of that, then think about spicing it up after the fact.

And again, it's not like this is tough to learn, or at least not tough to find resources on the subject. I'll be linking to a bunch of various resources for this sort of stuff. And hey, if you don't want to code an entire web page or website from scratch, there are plenty of places to grab pretty detailed templates of elements for your site, or even full pages that you then can just inject your writing or pictures or links into without having to go through the whole situation yourself. This can also be useful for a beginner because it allows you to see exactly how the HTML and CSS is used to create a specific effect, and gives you something you can experiment with and see results on without having to build it from scratch, which is a handy learning experience.

And where would you put your brand new site once you've put it together. Well, Wordpress does allow traditional HTML sites to be put up, but they're more about making those slick, eye-popping websites that we've discussed before. You could also just pay for a domain name and some hosting and then suss it out from there, but you do have a few places where, rather than putting in a substantial investment, you can throw up a site for basically nothing and still have plenty of room to experiment with your site and make something fun and interesting.

My personal recommendation is Neocities, a Geocities-inspired service that very much wants to bring back the idea of the personal website and web rings in general. They are completely free to use, and focus specifically on HTML pages. They do have a paid tier, which is only five dollars, that does give you a bunch of added features, including the ability to host multiple sites, fifty gigs of story as opposed to one (which might not seem like a lot, but a basic HTML website which is mostly text will almost never come close to that amount of storage, and the ability to give your site a custom domain (though you will have to buy that separately). I mostly recommend Neocities because their entire mission statement is what I've been talking about here; bringing back the creative freedom of having your own playground to toy with however you wish, and experiment with making something that just looks funky, in the best way possible. Plus, it gives an excuse to brows through all the other stuff that people have been putting up as well.

So do it. Even if it's just as a little hobby or a side project, give it a go. You have nothing to lose and might even pick up a skill you really enjoy flexing. Who knows, it might even lead you down a new path, or at the very least give you a creative outlet that you weren't aware of beforehand. It's well worth the effort.

Now, let's round this out with a quick list of some various sources that can help you in your quest to design that which lies in your heart, yeah?

W3 Schools: This is more a straight up reference site, and you can find tutorials here on a ton of different programming languages, but their HTML and CSS section is very robust, and will show you examples of various commands and tags and how they work. I find it's layout a little bit confusing at times, but it's a good place to go back to when you're looking for examples on how specific tags or commands work.

Sadgirl Online: This is basically a one-stop shop for tons of references and resources for making a website. It not only has a bunch of free assets like fonts and backgrounds that you can use in your own projects, but it also has a section for learning HTML and CSS that gives some very detailed explanations on how everything works, and even has a website generator that will generate a web page template for you to use in your own projects. Sadly, the site itself is no longer actively updated, but everything on it is still in working order, and most of the information on it is very timeless. The link section is also invaulable in finding more tools and resources as well. At the very least, I'd say it's an excellent starting point for any aspiring website builder.

Word to HTML: If you really don't feel comfortable writing out your own HTML, you can use this tool to quickly paste in things that you wrote in Word, or other formatting programs, and turn it into HTML that will keep the formatting, such as text position and style. Useful for if you're writing stories or long-form blog posts and you don't want to manually put in line breaks or paragraph tags yourself.

Web Guide: A basic and straightforward text tutorial on how to begin building a website based on HTML and CSS. It's even a site that was made and hosted on Neocities! It's another really good starting point if you need to figure out the very basics of HTML and CSS.

Color Hex: Once you start getting into the depths of CSS, you'll want to familiarize yourself with the hexadecimal codes for colors, since the pre-baked colors you can access otherwise are pretty basic and limited. Color Hex will show you popular colors with hexadecimal numbers, and can also general color palettes for you that will either contrast sharply, or look very nice together, which might help inspire the look and feel of your website.

Heyo so u wanted to come if on anon for a while now but also wanted to have another headcanon or idea to share when I do, but I think I’m pretty taped out for new ideas.

Anyway here I am surprise 🎉

Also I know I said I’m out of things to share at this moment but I did have one small thing for my new favourite of Tiktik;

I remember a post about goblins having very strong opinions on fashion and the idea that once they find a look they like they stick with it and go full force with it.

So Tiktik decides to stay in elmville for a while just to visit the gang, particular her pretty cleric and see how they just generally live their lives etc.

Part of this is going to a mall or clothing store to get her solace appropriate clothing. My initial thought was to Tiktik was going full goth mode since she’s used to wearing dark clothing anyway like most goblins do to blend in with shadows and night and I imagine her loving the intricate shiny jewellery, studs and spikes she can add.

But then I thought hang on, for the first time in her life she doesn’t have to worry about camouflage or standing out to much or she’ll possibly be eaten, and now has access unlimited to all these new and exciting clothes (Fabian offered to buy her anything she wanted and get it tailored to her size later, he claims it’s just a welcome gift but secretly it’s more of a thank you for helping get me and Riz together gift).

So she goes for the brightest most gaudy clothes she can find, I’m talking rainbow leggings, several different kinds of bright plastic bracelets on each arm and necklaces along with the loudest patterned shirts and skirt/shorts anyone’s ever seen.

She comes out of the dressing room and while everyone saw the clothes she picked out it’s still a shock to actually see it all together and before anyone can say anything to try and talk her out of her fashion choices, Kristen does her best impression of a suggestive/impressed goblin growl genuinely finding the outfit she’s wearing to be HOT (she wears tie dye and a yellow tracksuit, her fashion sense aren’t the best).

Also thing honestly was only meant to be a small thing but it kinda got away from me 😅

The goblins up in the mountains actually have fairly nice clothing. They might not have cotton, but they have a kind of silk harvested from creatures they farm in the darkness of their caves. Very strong and rip-proof so it can withstand their claws and it feels wonderful against your skin. Adventurers used to find bolts of the silk in goblin caves and attributed it to them stealing it from elven settlements.

The stereotype of a goblin wearing threadbare rags is only because adventurers were constantly encountering them after destroying their homes and trying to exterminate them. Textile arts take time and if you're constantly running for your life and moving you dont have time to make any new outfits. It gets put on the backburner even more so if your species doesnt have much of a taboo about nudity.

Its almost always dyed mostly greens and dark browns so their camoflage doesnt get disrupted too badly but it's all tailored to fit well, and tight, so it doesnt get snagged on anything.

Other than the silks they'll usually also have leather clothing. There's plenty of it to go around since they hunt for 99% of their food so its usually what smaller kits wear since they'll grow out of it fast.

Tiktik comes to Solace and there's just SO MANY different fabrics and colours, so she spends hours just wandering around a store running her hands over things to test how they feel (some of the textures are repulsive and Riz agrees). She finds some stuff she likes and goes a little wild on the colour choices ands up stepping out of the changing room and its just like

Riz is kindof glad he's wearing light-filtering glasses.

What do you think about Kazutora being a Virgo? Does it match? Do you think there are negative/positive traits that definitely match?

Whoa, so this is a long time coming... My sincerest apologies, however, I do have an answer.

Kazutora

Sun: Virgo

Moon: Leo

First off, I think there is a whole lot going on with our boy Kazutora (who I will be calling Tora for like the rest of this because my fingers don’t want to work today). Anyway, Virgos are typically known for purity (virgo=virgin) and they're meant to be pretty clear-headed and methodical. To us that probably doesn’t sound like our lad, but I think it’s kinda on the money?? First off, these are only underlying factors (personality traits) of what makes up each person. So, his childhood trauma really takes all that there is here, and just flips it on its head. Obviously, he’s not all that clear-headed or pure in any way. Which yeah, he’s a traumatized delinquent, but I want to kind of focus on the older Tora because I think that is where we can see a lot of his traits.

So going a little more in depth on my thoughts here. First, we usually perceive virgos as very put together and like a perfectionist. Now, quick note but if we have all seen Tora’s room, then we might think “hey, he’s not too clean or organized”. Now I beg to differ. I think his affinity to animal print is something that shows how particular he is.  For instance, most people wouldn’t bother matching everything to such a degree. (You can definitely disagree but I think especially considering his age and how he acts everywhere else, this is kinda like an anomaly.) I do think, though, that even as a delinquent, he is very focused and definitely methodical. The way that he hurts others is a little extreme, yes, but it’s not like he’s just out there crushing bones (Like baji). He prefers to perform acts of pure violence which will tie into his moon sign. 

Post time-skip or present day Tora is an icon. No one can change my mind on that. Him being able to work with Chifuyu and Naoto the first time we see him is so impressive considering everything that he went through. Like sure, even during the Halloween fight, he had to put a lot of effort into the planning and execution of his work, this was a whole other level. The stunts he pulled were incredibly impressive and that takes a lot of skills that a Virgo has. He has some really great leadership skills, but I think he chooses to push those aside and work under others for 2 reasons. First he cares about those around him and fully trusts them (Before Shin with Mikey and Present day with Chifuyu). I also think though, that he probably fears having control since he never had it growing up. He probably doesn’t understand what it means to have control over things and make decisions for others. I think that there’s also a possibility that he worries about making things worse for others by making bad choices that will impact him. (That was a personal headcanon of mine based on how he changed after getting out of jail.)

Ok onto his Leo moon. (THIS IS WHAT I THINK HIS MOON SIGN IS: I could be very wrong but with just his birthday and a vague idea of where he was born this is what I could get. It may not be entirely accurate). Anyway, a leo moon is a lover. Someone who likes to be in the eyes of others but not completely. They love the spotlight, but they don’t mind sharing it or stepping aside when needed (this is especially the case with a virgo sun.) I think Tora cares so much for the people in his life, that it materializes itself in aggression. His mom, Baji, Mikey, and especially present day Chifuyu mean the world to him. I know, but he hated Mikey. NO. I really don’t think that’s the case. Honestly I think that after Shin, he felt so many things, especially regarding Mikey, that he didn’t understand how to translate that into words and healthy emotional responses. Emotional intelligence is definitely lacking, but I think his love for his friends is overwhelming. 

Virgo sun and leo moon creates what should theoretically be a very stable person. Now I don’t know anyone who would call Tora stable, but I think that it plays into his rehabilitation and his growth in the present. Sure, he’s reserved but that makes sense considering everything. He just wants to support the people in his life the best  way he can, and not to mention he still is smart and probably way more clear-headed in his later days. I will say that I think he is capable of becoming anxious in situations where he can’t be himself, which I think is what sets him apart from his youth to his adulthood. I think as an adult, he finally has some more control over himself and confidence to be who he is, and he has some healthy emotional habits. I think he is an incredibly warm person. (Think the manga ends with how he is doing with his friends. That would be hard for someone who is completely closed off and cold to everyone).

Overall, Kazutora is a lot, but he is methodical and caring. His emotional trauma from his childhood and teenage years just threatens those good traits and brings out some negative responses to the unexpected.

Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer: Veedramon Edition - 5 hours in

Another long-ass title I have to type out. Also, another name that only sounds cool to Japanese people, but to English speakers it's just like "wtf am I looking at?"

Anyway! I started playing the Wonderswan Digimon game! I think this game was an attempt to use the Pokémon model of having two versions of pretty much the same games with a different variety of mons in each. (Only ever seen Pokémon and Yokai Watch do that). I honestly can't remember which version I selected, but I'm only going to do one of them. Judging by the walkthrough I'm using, it seems like this will be a short one. That's already a plus in my book. I'm enjoying myself so far.

Notes:

-First impressions of this game were very much a mixed bag. On the one hand, I really like the art/graphics, but I was very frustrated to not be told wtf was going on, like with Digimon World 1. I did end up picking things up pretty quickly, but I don't think a newer kid's game would ever be this vague. Also, the music is very annoying and repetitive.

-I didn't expect poor Ryo to get so ripped off! Gennai calls him a "chosen child," but then is immediately like "here, have this hand-me-down digivice and Agumon." Lame! I get they're trying to tie it into the anime, but they still could have given Ryo his own stuff. Oh well, maybe that changes later.

-Plot-wise we have a similar issue to Digimon Adventure 02, why can't the OG kids just help? -big shrug-

-I groaned when Gennai welcomed me to the digital world lol. Hate that dude.

-Now that I've gotten used to the battle system I'm having a lot of fun. I haven't played a ton of tactical RPGs (I briefly played but didn't finish Disgaea) so seeing that that was the play style made me a little nervous.

-Already some improvements over Digimon World 2 (even though this game is older): taming digimon is less painful, when you lose in a dungeon you can just try again instead of getting a game over screen, very easy to fast forward through things and the battles aren't as painfully slow, and I haven't hit any annoying storage limits (yet). Earning money, skills, and stat increases come pretty quickly so grinding is satisfying too.

-There's a lot of extra stuff in this game I'll probably just ignore. It seems they wanted this game to be very social, but I don't have anyone to play with, so I obviously won't be exploring the multiplayer features. No clue what the analyzer does.

-I'm 4 dungeons in and there are only 13 of them. It's still kinda tricky for me to predict how long this game will be though because I'm assuming future dungeons might take many tries.

-Sooo this game was officially released in English by Bandai Asia, but I don't think the US ever got the Wonderswan, so I guess it was for English speakers in the East only. Weirdly I was watching an anime the other day and they suddenly mentioned the handheld. I was like "what are the odds!?" (Anime is Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Lovecraft-sensei. It's really bad, don't watch it lol)

I didn't know which was worse my fear or my excitement, it was like having two over excited puppies in my mind jumping over each other attempting to be seen. The door opened and immediately I gulped her shoes gone, her little white socks pulled high, her skirt tugged up high, her button down shirt unbuttoned enough to reveal the start of her cream bra, her tie long gone, her hair let loose from the usual braids and ponytails allowed to hang naturally with only her alice band to push it back.

"Oh hi Paul"

For a moment no words arrived at my mouth honestly I was doing my best not to loose my balance as I felt like I could have fainted as my heart was beating out my chest, my blood pumping around me every drop of blood flooding to my stiff erection ".........uhhhh hi y/n" I blushed

"Don't you look handsome"

"Uuuuuuuughhhhhhhh thank you, you uhhhh you umm" I stuttered "You look beautiful"

"You're cute. Come on we can sit up in my room" she smiled grabbing my hand and dragging me inside with her 

She lead me into her bedroom which was actually in the loft having to climb a steep stairwell to get up there but it wa sa very large room with anything a teenage girl could want a huge double bed, desk, a huge record collection that rivaled my own and John's out together next to a pretty high end player, and her own one suite. Everything in it was impressive and clearly expensive many of the perfume, make up and such I recognized from magazines and such I didn't know what her family did but clearly they had money.

"Whoa this uhh this is nice" I told her as she jumped on her bed hugging a stuffed bear I had to avert my eyes given I now stood over her bed and could pretty much see up her skirt and honestly seeing her in this half undone school uniform in her bed hugging her teddy bear was… unlocking things in my mind it really shouldn't have been, uuummmm believe me babydoll I wanna jump in that bed with you 

"Thanks, took a lot of work" she says 

"I can imagine, so uhh algebra?" I asked putting my stuff down trying not to look at her 

"Ehh do we have to? I've just done so much work at school" she whined rolling on her bed a little

"Well we uhh we can chill out for a little better it that would help?" I suggested

"Awww your so sweet" she smiled getting up and stroking across my shoulders as she past me "none of my other tutors let us do that" she smiled giving my cheek a kiss 

"Well I uhh I uh I'm not like other tutors" 

"I can see that" she smiled flicking through her records finally picking one and adding it to the player setting some music on and I recognized the song 

"Hu… you uhh you like this?"

"Ummm very much"

"I uhh I do too, I don't have it myself but John plays it alot. How'd you get it? I thought it hadn't been released over here yet?"

"I have my ways" she smiled 

"Do uhh you mind me asking what your parents do?"

"My mum works in the seamstress shop in town turning hems and such" she explained moving around her room doing various things "you can sit on the bed Paul it's okay" she smiled 

So I did take a seat there even if I had to force some darker thoughts away "and your dad?"

"He runs the record shop on East gate"

"Really! That explains the collection I'm guessing"

"He likes to give me promos to listen too, he says he uses me for customer resource"

"How do?"

"He gives me all the promos the shop gets and I tell him what to order and what not to order track the trends he says" 

"I uhh I go there all the time" 

"Umm he tells me"

"He does?"

"He likes to keep me posted on…cute boys who sniff around the right musical sections" she Cooes

"No, I found that out after a nice evening in the dance hall." She explained

bg3 impressions, having finished the game:

i think i'm overall kind of disappointed by the act 3..

major issue i was the whole buildup around the tadpole and using illithid powers and worrying if it's going to come back to bite me - and it turns out to be such a non issue by the end. free ticket to get awesome powers and no punishment...

in order to effectively fight against the netherbrain you need an illithid. you can become one and everyone comments on what a sacrifice you've just made but it feels hollow when there's literally an allied illithid standing right next to you. who could have done this for you instead. it's not really a sacrifice then... just a deeply weird thing you can do and choose to transform. which i of course did. (and the emperor didn't have that much to say and we didn't hover into the sunset together so it's a personal bummer...)

there were some strong moments in act 3 of course. i love astarion's quest, i love karlach's tragedy. i think tadpoled squad is pretty fantastic. i really like all of them. i love that they all share similar experience of being exploited and fucked over by people in power and how bcs of that they can understand each other so well.

honestly i didn't like many of the callbacks to the original baldur's gates. they felt mostly hamfisted. i know it's in part fanservice and in part trying to tie the sequel to the originals. but literally what does it have to say abt anything. i detest minsc. putting such an emphasis on viconia reveal during shadowheart's quest just threw me off. why is sarevok still around... perhaps the members of murder tribunal could have been just conjured during orin boss fight instead as some spirits of the past.

i'm still unsure how i feel about inclusion of jaheira. i liked her characterization in this game a lot though...

i liked playing bg3 a lot though.. it made me go wild when the dream guardian was revealed to be an illithid. you literally catfish yourself in the game. and the game also does some work to give a more nuanced portrayal of the races portrayed as traditionally evil - githyanki and illithids.

looking forward to playing as the dark urge next..

First impression: TERRIFIED!! He was stupidly pretty and had a dragon, I knew he would end up a favorite, but I didn’t know how MUCH of a favorite, I needed to know what his problem was dhdhdhd

Impression now: I can't even put into words how much I love Mizael sometimes omfg, he had such an impact on me and I'm a little saddened at how quickly he was removed from the story in the end I need to rewatch more of his scenes, I'm very insecure about how I write Mizael and I really want to get his voice down One day I’ll finish his cosplay wig too, if I style all of the wigs for my favorite ships, I can convince people to cosplay with me surely (copium)

Favorite moment: His introduction is wild, like both him arriving to Alito and Girag but also him challenging Yuma Miza just shows up, shoots Tori with an energy blast, and then is just like we're dueling But then COMPLETELY forgets about Yuma as soon as Kaito shows up and whips his dragon out Also love when they have their little Barian meetings where they just bicker, they're truly real housewives

Idea for a story: I always have Mizael and Kaito ideas gjdkslajg Whether they're fics or oneshots, time usually tells, but my drafts definitely have quite a few for them saved Usually lots of dragon focused ones, obsessed with the idea of Photon and Tachyon eloping and them having to just deal with it Mizael going over dragons with Haruto...

Unpopular opinion: I don't know if there is anything the small Miza community doesn't agree on honestly jgdsklaj I'll just start drama, Miza's not a natural blonde

Favorite relationship: I feel like I don’t even need to say haha, Kaito and Mizael are incredible and I am cursing Zexal forever for not giving them more time because I feel like I'm blowing out steam looking at all of the loose threads I also love how much Durbe and Mizael respect each other, there's clearly a bond there between them, wish we saw it more I also wish we could have seen more of Mizael and Nasch since you can tell Mizael revered him quite a bit-

First impression: Oh I KNEW I was gonna love him the second I saw his face omg I did the bad fan thing where I had to pull up the wiki bc the Vrains episode I was watching at the time didn't answer a really niche question I had about something someone said and the "related pages" tab on Yusaku's character page had Takeru's face on it So I had to find him I speedran my Vrains watch to get to him and boy was I rewarded

Impression now If you asked me in 2021 who my favorite yugioh was, I'd tell you Takeru Homura in a heartbeat Literally was only dethroned as my favorite by Kaito recently Takeru would be the next character I deep dive and dissect if given the chance, I just think he's so cool, I love how well done he is, I think he's one of the best done characters in the franchise His deck is fun, his design is fun, I've cosplayed both Takeru AND Soulburner now, working on slick back look one day when I don't have cosplay deadlines I just... love him, he's one of my favorite voices to write through, I always find an excuse to drabble as Takeru, whether it's something I post or not, and I am always at home when it's with him

Favorite moment: ALMOST ALL OF THEM!!! BOTH OF THE DUELS WITH REV! HIS INITIAL ENTRANCE! HIS FLASHBACK SCENES! BEING CRINGEFAIL!!! AAHHHH!!!!

Idea for a story: Oh I've got a REALLY hefty 3+1 fic that's gonna tie in with recoil week that explores all of Takeru's relationships gjdkla Here is a very small bit from the first chapter:

The first time Homura Takeru thought he fell in love, he was a young boy intimidated by a pretty girl. He doesn’t remember many of the details of how he met Kiku. It was a portion of his memories that lived in what feels like a lifetime ago, before everything had suddenly slipped out of his young grip. He just knew that he was a scared boy overwhelmed by her kindness and spirit the moment they met while he was on a trip to visit his grandparents.  It was an instant connection. Kiku had pulled on his hand and pulled him into the light, smiled and laughed with him whereas the other kids at the time hadn’t. He’d almost call it foreshadowing. Having her in his life made the sudden change of up and moving out to the country after his parents’ deaths a little easier. Within a month of moving, they were almost inseparable. And the following years as well, no matter how hard it got.

So stay tuned for that!

Unpopular opinion: I'm so sorry but I'm about to be a hater But the fact that Takeru haters even exist is really fascinating to me since most of his other counterparts are rather beloved Like he's got more fans that haters for sure, but I've seen every single one who has a think piece say "Takeru's only there to show off the card game" as if Salamangreat wasn't released in the OCG until July while Takeru has been showing off the deck since May, but I digress Yusaku's entire arc was finished in season 1, he got all of his answers, protected Ai to the very end, and was ready to move on. Yusaku just being a fix-it man for an entire second season? Would be BORING. So they needed a second voice to duo-lead, a new one with new motivations who hasn't already been shown, but could be tied back in a meaningful way. And what characters were left we knew very little about? The Ignis. What was unveiled in Season 1 about the Ignis? They're tied to six children, and we've now seen 2 of them. Also it's? Yugioh? Do you expect them NOT to show off cards and real strategies so you go spend your real life money on product? Remember Yuri randomly using an Ancient Gear deck in Arc V when the structure was starting to come out? Or most of duelist of the week duelists from GX? The animes are nothing but product placement and rule explanations (nit picking hating, but takeru's also written strangely sometimes, it's rare but some will make him way dumber or submissive than he is)

Favorite relationship: I'm a degenerate and beyond predictable And I've mentioned that I love Firestorm already, but if we're being very honest for a second, I always see it as one-sided with how Yusaku's written with Takeru,,, Like sometimes we overcome that gap and look at the potential because oh my god giving Yusaku someone like Takeru was SUCH a good idea, but I usually see it as a one-sided pining, but a VERY close friendship Yusaku in my head ALWAYS goes to Takeru's village post canon to apologize for leaving BUT I'm a degenerate, as I said about So to say I love Takeru and Ryoken's dynamic, from start to finish, is an understatement I love that they draw out the best of each other and push each other beyond their preexisting limitations as well as the shackles of their pasts I love that Ryoken respected Takeru's feelings so much that he didn't want to insult him by outright refusing the first challenge, but couldn't bring himself to duel knowing it wouldn't resolve anything I love how Soulburner accuses Revolver of not following up on that in Duel Links I fucking love "I'm so glad I met you", above all else I love finally seeing a conclusion to one of the many side rivalries, and I had a renewed appreciation for it after finishing Zexal and realizing what could have been there I also actually like how the dub handled their farewell scene, the promise of future challenges, Revolver promising to be there when they need him, the fond little chuckle

Favorite headcanon (more drug cw on this one!!) It's a weird one and it's kinda personal I guess, but I always write Takeru as sober gkdsa As a punk, I can imagine him dipping into more unsavory behaviors as a way to cope and express when he's struggling to find the next step, so when he decides to start fresh and live a new life, he cuts terrible habits like those cold turkey

The annual office holiday party is not something that Mobius has ever given much thought to, nor spent much energy worrying about. He’s been working here for ten years, and it’s always the same: they rent out a venue, deck it out with tons of tacky holiday decorations, and provide lots of food and even more drink, which is really the only way he gets through it every year. Oh yeah, and it’s always, always, ugly-holiday-sweater themed.

There are some people in the office who get really into it. Nominally there’s even a contest, but the same collection of people trade off the trophy every year, always trying to outdo each other. Lights, sparkly, eye-searing color combinations, nothing is off limits to these folks. For his part, Mobius bought the requisite ugly sweater without really paying attention to it his first year here—it has a giant Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer face on it and says ‘Let’s Get Lit!’—and wears the same one every year. Janice from accounting tries to give him shit about it, also every year, but Janice can shove it.

It’s not that he doesn’t like the holidays, or parties, or holiday parties on principle. He does, actually, quite a bit, but enforced socializing with his coworkers is not really his idea of a great time. Of course, that was before this year, because eleven months ago, they hired one Loki Laufeyson. Loki works in a different division than Mobius does, so they don’t see each other very often. They’ve only spoken a handful of times. That doesn’t mean Mobius isn’t pretty well head over heels for the guy at this point, even if he’s also sure Loki barely knows who he is.

Mobius’s office happens to be on the way to the main administrative offices for the company, so pretty much everyone walks by at some point during the week. Most people stop by and say hello, chat a bit, and Mobius enjoys that he gets pretty much all the office gossip that way. Loki, though, only ever seems to come in if he needs something. A pencil, a slip of paper to write a note, help with the printer. He flits in and out with a distracted thanks, like he’s far too busy to waste time on Mobius. It’s just Mobius that he seems to mostly avoid, too, because he’s seen Loki laughing it up with Bea, Cee, and even Casey.

It’s fine. Mobius knows Loki is way out of his league. He is very nice eye candy, at least.

In the weeks leading up to the holiday party, he overhears a lot about Loki’s distaste for the ugly sweater theme. Loki even goes so far as to try to propose to the company higher-ups that they should do a black tie theme instead, which is pretty amusing. Many people have tried to suggest other themes over the years, but the ugly sweaters are too entrenched. All have failed, and Loki is no different on that account.

For the first time, though, Mobius considers changing things up with his own attire. Maybe he could find a slightly more classy ugly sweater and impress Loki. Instead, he finds a truly hideous suit—an entire suit—made out of green and red Christmas-tree-print fabric, and yes it’s not a sweater, but surely it fits the spirit of the theme. He’d stand out at least, and maybe Loki might finally take notice of him. Honestly, the suit’s pretty sharp, he thinks as he puts it on the night of the party. It’s a hell of a lot better than the itchy sweater. He might just wear this every year, regardless of how tonight turns out.

His new suit does make a bit of a stir at the party. Some people appreciate it and the fact that he mixed it up. Janice complains that the suit is not a sweater, as if he wasn’t well aware of the fact, and thus pronounces that he did not meet the theme. However, see above re: Janice and shoving it.

“Hot damn,” Bea says with a low whistle as she looks him up and down. She’s wearing a black, yellow, red, and green patterned sweater that says both ‘This is My Ugly Kwanzaa Sweater’ and also ‘Black Lives Matter.’ He would have loved to have seen Janice try to find something to say about that. “I don’t know how you make that fugly suit look good, but you are pulling it off. Trying to impress someone tonight?”

“Don’t know what you’re talking about,” Mobius insists, even though Bea is well aware of his stupid crush. So is half the office, really, but he works closely with Bea, and she sees through him like shitty tissue paper. “Is he here?”

Bea shakes her head and sips her mulled wine. “You know he’ll want to make an entrance.”

That is certainly true. Mobius is well into his third drink by the time he shows up, and he’s not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing considering Loki’s sartorial choices. You see, Mobius—and pretty much everyone else in the office—had assumed Loki would show up in black tie anyway, out of protest, or at the very least in a sweater far too tasteful to count toward the theme. He made it very clear that wearing anything that could be classified as an ugly holiday sweater was certainly beneath him. Maybe he was just trying to throw everyone off, though, because the sweater that Loki arrives in is unquestionably the most hideous collection of fabric and stuff that Mobius has ever seen. Every color manages to clash with every other, the patterns combine into something vaguely nauseating, there are lights, and tassels, and streamers, and god knows what else.

The room falls dead quiet when he walks in, because quite literally everyone stops dead to stare at him. Loki just grins, clearly delighted by the consternation he’s caused.

“But is it really holiday themed?” Janice says, the first to break the silence. Someone groans.

The party picks up again after that. Loki mingles, chatting with various groups of people, while Mobius does his own drinking and socializing, though Loki’s location in the room is never very far from his awareness. Frankly, Mobius would know where he was at all times even without the sweater, but it certainly makes his job easier. So it’s a bit of surprise when, as he’s lingering over a selection of holiday petit fours, Loki sidles up next to him.

“Hello Mobius,” he says quietly, startling Mobius so dramatically that he almost flings a tiny cake at him.

“Oh. Hi, Loki,” Mobius replies, a little breathlessly. He wasn’t even totally sure Loki knew his name until this point. He needs to get a grip.

“I must say, that suit is exceptional.”

Mobius tries his best not to turn beet red at the compliment. He’s not sure he succeeds. “Thanks. Nice… sweater. Gotta be the ugliest by far. Kind of a surprise, though. I thought you were morally against them or something.”

Loki chuckles, low and throaty, and it does some very, very bad things to Mobius’s insides. It’s not helped when Loki takes a step closer to him. “You probably don’t know this about me, but I like surprising people, I enjoy being the center of attention, and I love to win.” In fact, Mobius knew all of these things, but he certainly doesn’t indicate as such. He doesn’t want Loki to think he’s a creep. “Do you want to know the real reasons I wore this particular sweater tonight?”

“Ok,” Mobius agrees, though he has to admit he’s a little confused.

“Because I was hoping you’d notice me,” Loki purrs, leaning even closer, “and I was hoping that it might make you want to get me out of it as quickly as possible.”

Mobius does drop the petit four, then, and openly gapes at the man in front of him. Someone must have put something truly mind-bending in the punch this year, or snuck hallucinogens into the cookies, because there’s no way he heard what he thinks he heard. Loki’s just looking at him, though, seductive and hopeful all at once, so he tries to pull himself together.

“I— you— what?” he sputters, not really pulled together at all. “You’re trying to get me to notice you?”

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“No,” Mobius says, maybe too loudly. Several heads turn to look at them. “No,” he repeats at a hiss. “If anything, it’s the other way around. You hardly seem to notice I exist!”

“What are you talking about?” Loki counters, looking affronted. “Why do you think I come by your office all the time to borrow things? Did you honestly think I was that forgetful?”

“But you barely talk to me. You chat with everyone else, but not me.”

“Because you’re intimidating, Mobius!” Loki counters. Mobius scoffs. “It’s true! You’re the director of your division. Everyone knows Renslayer likes you best of all her analysts. Hell, everyone loves you. I’m just the new guy who can’t seem to stop causing catastrophes on every case I join.”

Mobius opens his mouth and closes it again, at a bit of a loss for words. “I guess I never thought of it that way before.”

“Clearly,” Loki huffs, looking miffed. He tries to fold his arms over his chest, but he can’t really manage it with all the stuff hanging off his sweater.

“Did you mean it?” Mobius asks. Loki frowns like he’s frustrated, so he clarifies: “The second part. About me getting you out of it. Did you mean it, or was it just a line?”

Unexpectedly, a dusting of pink blooms over Loki’s cheeks. “I mean. It was a line, but I also meant it. If that’s something you’d be amenable to.”

Right. Mobius takes a look around the room, sees everyone more or less occupied in conversation, and walks off toward the nearest door to the hallway. He makes it halfway there before he realizes Loki isn’t following, so he makes an impatient come-along gesture until he does. The door to the room has only barely closed behind them when Mobius turns around, pushes Loki up the wall, and kisses him soundly. Christ, it’s glorious, so much better than even in his wildest imaginings. Loki kisses like he talks, bold yet sly, his clever tongue quickly working its way past Mobius’s lips and finding all the best spots to tease him. His hands slide into the front of Mobius’s jacket and around his waist, pulling their bodies together, and Mobius doesn’t even care that the random bits of Loki’s sweater jab into his chest. They kiss and they kiss, until their lips are pink and swollen, until it becomes riskier and riskier that someone will come looking for them.

“I’m amenable,” Mobius nearly growls when he finally pulls back.

“Wonderful,” Loki breathes. “Your place or mine?”

They’re most of the way to the exit when Mobius stops. “Wait,” he says, and how distraught Loki looks before he covers it makes his heart do something weird inside his chest. “No, I mean, what about the contest? I thought you wanted to win.”

“Oh Mobius,” Loki says, grinning as he draws into his arms again and leans in so that his lips brush the shell of his ear, “I already did.”

Advice they gave but don’t take themselves?

Eleteo: That your feelings and fears are valid and you shouldn’t hide them. They say that to the other meaning it with all their hearts, but when it comes to their own problems, sometimes they don’t follow through. Elena because she is crown princess and later, queen. She wants to be cool and put together because she has to be a leader, she’s scared to shake off that image for a second or else she’ll fall apart. But as their relationship deepens, she finds Mateo to be a safe place to let go of that queenly mask without fear that he’ll think of her as less of a strong leader. Mateo just feels that his problems are so inconsequential and little and they don’t matter or she doesn’t want to hear which is the least true thing ever. But also slowly but surely Mateo comes to fully realize how much Elena cares for him and his feelings matter. 

Gababel: The whole work and no play. Both are guilty of this with Gabe wanting his men and himself to get into top shape for battle and Isabel slaving away over her inventions and university work at the cost of sleep and sometimes their mental sanity. Sometimes they are both so busy with their work, they end up encouraging this worse impulse. But most of the days, it is always one who is busy and the other one urges them to relax and sleep and even “kidnaps” them to a surprise excursion for fun and that always relieves them of being in “the zone.”

Estenaomi: They both have trouble admitting that they have limits. Esteban because he so wants to be look upon as an adult and respected so he won’t admit he has flaws or if he is facing a fear (like spiders or man eating animals) he’ll still power on despite the danger and he never says he needs help until he is in deep deep trouble... or quicksand whatever comes first. Naomi is similar in that she is determined not to be seen  as a common port girl so she’ll similarly try to do things on her own without help. Like Eleteo, they come to see each other as the person to go to, that they can ask for help without feeling like a failure. 

Estoma: They tend to tie their self worth into their jobs or fancy titles. Like when Esteban doesn’t have his Chancellor duties after the feast of friendship or when he is redeemed. It’s like another late life crisis as he doesn’t know what to do with himself or *who he is*? (Dun dun dun!) Doña has to remind him that now he has a chance to distance himself from the job after the pain he went through getting it, and some of the more unsavory things Shuriki made him do, and do things he enjoys. Doña just throws herself into her store and getting more more money and Esteban has to tell her that the world won’t collapse that if she doesn’t get all the money leading to their ridiculous fights, “I can’t believe you’re making me do this. I get the best profits during Navidad!” “I so appreciate your sacrifice but you’re going to spend Navidad with my family and you are going to like it!”

Who has to give the last kiss? 

Eleteo: Elena does. She is such an affectionate person and Mateo is just so cute that even when he has to go abd she has to attend her duties, she tends to put them off as long as possible, trying to get as many kisses as she can.

Gababel: Isabel because whenever Gabe goes off to battle, there is that little fear that this might be the last time she'll ever see him and it just makes the moment more poignant and intense. She wants every last kiss in case she'll never get another.

Estenaomi: Esteban, he is such a dramatic boi and he keeps going for another grand dip or a spontaneous kiss even when Naomi is doing something as mundane as going ashore for a few minutes for resupply. 

Estoma: Once more, Esteban does. He says he can't help it when he's overcome by such beauty. Honestly, it sounds like an even more dramatic interpretation of Zorro. Not that he complains.

Embarrassing moment trying to impress each other?

Eleteo: They're both more the catch and release type though I don't doubt that Elena may have killed some in a mood swing scepter blast. 

Gababel:Gabe kills them though Isabel keeps telling him not to because they're a vital part of the environmental ecosystem etc. etc.

Estenaomi: Naomi does since Esteban has a spider phobia. Sometimes she'll shove it in his face very quickly and he'll fall over in gis chair. Most of the time it's a fake toy spider when she does that. 

Estoma: Again, Dona because Esteban still fears spiders. Plus Dona's handled alligators, this is nothing. 

Whose more likely to talk themselves out of a speeding ticket? 

Eleteo: Elena. Mateo would be too flustered and shocked at himself that he drove over the speed limit and he'd apologize immediately. Elena's a fast talker that can get most people to see her side and drive off.

Gababel: Gabe I thik. It usually doesn't work though. He either tries to flatter or try to bond with the fellow colleague in uniform.

Estenaomi: Esteban. It also doesn't work even though he unleashes his full charm. Naomi does too and it actually works and Esteban is forever amazed. Estoma: Dona. From Esteban there is a lot of blustering "Do you know who I am?" Dona is better at playing people and being persuasive with arguments. If that doesn't work, maybe some discreet bribery. 

Who takes the longest getting ready?

Eleteo: Elena, mainly because she has to look her best at all moments as queen plus all the servants and Esteban start fussing over her outfit and hair and million other things. Gababel: Isabel because Gabe NEVER CHANGES HIS FREAKING UNIFORM! Estenaomi: Esteban does. Mr. Hair gel and moisturizer needs at least an hour to prepare himself. Longer if it's a formal event. 

Estoma: Actually, pretty equal.Though sometimes they'd be petty if they feel one is wasting their time, they'll take longer.  

Who nose boops the other? 

Eleteo: Elena does, she is affectionate like that and makes Mateo a blushy mess. 

Gababel: Same as above. Isabel does it more often and gets Gabe so flustered as she draws him in by leaning him forward for a kiss and gets a nose boop instead with a smart remark or compliment. 

Estenaomi: I feel like it is even. Esteban can sometimes do it condescendingly like when he's teaching Naomi to dance but Naomi dishes it right back at him when she's teasing. Estoma: Dona, usually in the middle of Esteban speaking. She says it's an automatic "Shut up" button which he doesn't appreciate. 

Do they have bubble baths? Eleteo: Yes. Mateo is a wizard after all so it's not like they'll even have to plan, he just casts a spell and there is a tub of suds. Elena particularly loves it when they have rose petals and candles to add to the mood. They could spend hours in the tub together sometimes with Elena starting a water fight. Gababel: Yes, originally as part of Isabel's aromatherapy projects to see if different spells/soaps combinations can help relaxation. Ironically, she gets so stressed by it that Gabe insists on taking over one night to give her a relaxing bubble bath, free of science but filled with science till she's blissed out.

Estenaomi: Not really since they're on a ship, a creaky one at that so you never know if it's going to be freezing. However, on those islands, sometimes they do come across natural steam baths and take full advantage of them to enjoy each other's company. 

Estoma: Very rarely since they're busy most of the time. But they do on vacation when they have all the time in the world.

Park hcs

Eleteo: they are total kids at the park, rolling down hills being their favorite, going on the swing and cuddling in the gazebo.

Gababel: Gabe and Isa go to the park usually when Isabel needs to collect flower and leaf samples but they also enjoy the crisp air and temperatures and enjoy each other’s company. And in Isabel’s case, read on the bench as well. 

Estenaomi: They love the park. Mainly trying to outdo each other on who can swing the highest or spin faster on the wheel and such. Once they tire themselves out, they sit on the swings and talk.  Estoma: After Dona told him that her village didn’t have a jungle gym, etc. Esteban took Dona on a park date and goad her to go on the swings and such. 

Who overpacks?

Eleteo: I feel like Mateo would. Not overpacking with clothes but additional spellbooks for “light” reading whenever Elena is at her political meetings even though he ends up not reading half of them because he’s spending time with Elena. 

Gababel: Isabel does as in line with her overthinking nature, she packs everything they could possibly need in an emergency by sea or land. Gabe tells her not to worry because he’ll take care of any emergency.

Estenaomi: Esteban does because he cannot possibly go to Paraiso without his black linen suit or his matching red bolero jacket or his Flores family heirloom dagger or his hairdryer or well there’s more but you get the idea. 

Estoma: Again, it would be Esteban. But I feel like Dona would overpack in the return trip after all her shopping.

Preferred form of affection?

Eleteo:Elena loves any and all forms, she adores physical touch but her favorite would probably have to be kissing. Mateo on the other hand is such a cuddler and likes being in the spoon position, it’s so warm and cozy.  Gababel: Gabe is a hugger, he loves giving bear hugs to Isabel and feel her body wrapped in his arms. Isa is the same, being wrapped in his arms is the best. 

Estenaomi: I think Naomi likes kisses best. She seems more of a staightforward affectiont ype to me. Or even quick nose kisses. Meanwhile Esteban likes holding hands. Just the feel of her always next to him and showing how they love each other.  Estoma: Esteban likes forehead touches. Subtly enough that you can do it anywhere yet speaks volumes. Dona prefers neck nuzzles. 

New Decade AU

Eleteo: Perhaps going back to the Mayan hero twins to go back to the show’s mythical roots among gods and goddesses. 

Gababel: Medieval Times. I can’t help it, Gabe makes the perfect night in shining armor and Isa would the princess or noble lady breaking society norms by being interested in the sciences. Or a World War 2 AU would work too. 

Estenaomi: Late 1800s with the age of piracy and imperialism. It would be so much fun for them with Naomi as a rebellious pirate queen and stowaway Esteban or Esteban being a morally ambiguous privateer. Or even Indiana Jones style. Some adventure where there is no end goal in mind but they end up helping a revolution, running from at least 5 angry mobs, accidentally awakening and intentionally putting down a cursed mummy, join Captain Chiloya and his crew in a madcap chase for his stolen treasure against his pirate rival and make their own pirate rivals. All while sniping and kissing each other during storm and sunshone on the beaches.

Estoma: I was going to say Victorian Downtown Abbey but the 1920s is so much more intriguing. I mean Great Gatsby parties, the foolish rich people, the decadence combined with the dangers of gangsters and prohibition. It’s erfect sort of themes for them. 

Who sings in the shower?

Eleteo: Elena undoubtedly but Mateo does too. Well he hums because singing was banned when he was child but Elena has been encouraging him to sing loud and sing proud.

Gababel: Gabe does surprisingly. Not often though but when he does, he belts it out. Isabel thinks its adorable. 

Estenaomi: Both but Esteban does more often. Though Naomi usually sings sea shanties to get those stuck in Esteban’s head all day.  Estoma: Esteban especially to the shower head. He might have practiced that booby trap dance once or twice.

Sexy Outfit?

Eleteo: Any of Elena’s outfits looks sexy to Mateo but if he had to choose, it might be the mermaid look for her. Her hair flowing around like a halo, the seashell bra, standing under a waterfall. Just wow. Elena is surprised to find herself very into when Mateo wears his royal cosort outfit with the empulettes, he really rocks them. He just looks so noble and kingly. 

Gababel: Gabe likes it when Isa wears reading glasses. A bit of the sexy nerd trope. Which was funny Isabel had been very nervous that he wouldn’t like them but she had nothing to fear. Isabel likes Gabe in his guard uniform so it is a good thing he wears it every day. She also likes it when he wears an apron. It reminds her of all the possibilities of baking and food heating up the kitchen. 

Estenaomi: Esteban has a preference for corsets though he would never admut it. But is always a slight thril when Naomi indulges him because she usually wears such comfortable, loose clothing and the corset is a different thing entirely. Naomi enjoys it when Esteban wears leather pants. It leaves nothing to the imagination and shows off all his leg muscles, and most importantly, his butt. 

Estoma: I think Esteban would still enjoy corsets. Nothing is more tantalizing than the glimpse of it underneath a low cut gown. Dona likes Esteban in a hot cowboy outfit. You know, jeans and cowhide vest and nothing else. Esteban liked to tease her a lot about her lower class standards until she showed him up with her female version. 

Who wears the other’s clothes sometimes? 

Eleteo: Elena sometimes wears Mateo’s oversized shirts on a lazy Sunday morning without shame and sometimes teases that she’ll just wear it to her meetings. She also puts on his wizard robes, they’re so warm and comfty.

Gababel: They don’t really do that since the size difference makes it ridiculous. Although Isabel has nabbed Gabe’s guard jacket and shirt once or twice  on a cold winter night. She says he has to practice his ability to withstand cold temperatures but Gabe thinks it more has to do with gazing at his pecs. 

Estenaomi: A few times Esteban has tried Naomi’s clothes on her dares much to Naomi’s personal amusement. Naomi does the saame and dresses in Esteban’s fancy suits and shirts for fun.  Estoma: Very rarely though once Esteban went out in Dona’s robes which he staunchly insisted was a Satu kimono. 

Who curses when they argue? 

Eleteo: Neither. They prefer actually talking out their porblems than yelling and screaming  in anger at each other since it’s counterproductive. Also I can’t see Mateo have a cursing bone in his body nor Elena use that language with someone she loves. 

Gababel: Again neither for the same reasons as Eleteo. 

Estenaomi Naomi. Blame the sailor’s tongue but she can start cursing up a storm. And though Esteban tries not to do it in a girl’s presence (yes Luisa drilled it into him) he would start too. 

Estoma: Again, like Estenaomi, Dona is more likely to curse before Esteban but he’d snap back too.

Favorite massage?

Eleteo: Mateo does a mean full body massage. He has a surprising amount of upper body strength from crushing potions and his fingers are nimble with all the right pressure points. Elena especially likes the attentions he gives her shoulders, as well as the more sensual romantic massages. The oils always slip and the magically heated stones are heavenly. Mateo, on the other hand, can’t say Elena is well versed in massages. She’s too enthusiastic and makes it rough. 

Gababel: Gabe is wonderful at fulll body massage but also gives a mean foot massage that Isabel always looks forward to after a long day on her feet in the lab. Gabe prefers Isabel’s lihjter back massages when she uses the tips of her fingernails and scratches his scalp. 

Estenaomi: Naomi gives a Norburg aka Swedish style massage which was a bit unnerving at first sincce Esteban is used to plush but he was surprised how relaxing it turned out to be after she pounded out any muscles he had with the deep tissue. He usually falls asleep though which is a totally different experience from the ones Esteban gives Naomi where he tries to make it the sexiest, most smoldering experience ever. It doesn;t always work but Naomi would do anything for his neck/back massage.  Estoma: Dona does the lighter medium pressure and finger tracing massages that never fail to relax Esteban after a long day. She also does a face massage which she basically just traces the features of his face and stuff. Esteban does a traditional massage but it took a while before Dona would stop squirming or jumping with surprisingly sensitive spots that Esteban swore he wasn’t doing on purpose.

alright, I've loved the 1996 Matilda movie for years, and i just recently watched the musical. TIME FOR A MOVIE REVEIW NO ONE ASKED FOR I absolutely love Matilda and Miss Honeys character. They're both so pretty, and i especially loved the actor who played Matilda. And I loved the first song Matilda did!! The lyrics and melody were amazing. I also love the outfit!! The dresses on Miss Honey and Matilda are sooo pretty. And the school uniforms, amazing!! Also the coreography in the movie is amazing!! Especially that girl in the red berret, she can DANCE. I also love how they added the character of Miss Phelps! I think she's so funny when listening to Matilda's stories, and she was a really good addition. However, three thing I disliked. First, I KNOW ITS A MUSICAL BUT THERE WERE SO MANY SONGSS. i loved revolting children and the one that goes 'even if you're little you can do a lot' but there was a song about every 5 minutes 😭Second, I wish they didn't change Matilda's character so much. In the 1996 movie, she was a shy and timid girl who was beat down and belittled by her parents, but then she meets Miss Honey, who helps to give her confidence and helper her to beleive in herself. In the musical, Matilda is already very confident, and loud and sure of herself. And while that's an amazing quality to have, but here it's not very accurate. Third, I wish Miss Honey and Matilda interacted more!! There was no relationship building 😭 Miss Honey went to Matilda's house for 3 minutes, had one or two lessons with Matilda, and then adopted her. Okay thank you for reading this!! -🐸

ooh okay!! this is really interesting to me as someone who fell in love with the musical first (like the stage production not 2022 movie)

i watched 1996 in second grade with my class and i literally hid under the table the entire time with my eyes closed and ears plugged which was impressive for a seven year old with adhd lmao

the characterizations in 2022 are absolutely amazing and i completely agree that they’re both absolutely beautiful (tho honestly everyone in the movie is?)

for what’s marketed kind of as a “kids” musical the lyrics and musicality of the songs in both the stage production and the movie are so deep and rich and the way they tie into each other and are all similar and different just blows me away every time

THE COSTUMES IN THIS MOVIE ARE WILD. every time i watch i notice something different with the costumes. miss honey’s dress has hot air balloons on it at certain points and little houses at others. matilda’s dress is the same at the end as it is at the beginning but in color instead of blue. THEY SING ABOUT BLUE WHEN MATILDA WEARS BLUE WHEN THEY MEET. there’s truly so much there it’s nuts and YES the uniforms are so cool!

red beret girl’s character is named hortensia and she’s played by meesha garbett (not sure on the last name but i think that’s it) and she is INCREDIBLY talented (also the girl who backflips off the lockers in revolting children sends me every time)

mrs phelps is truly so special to me it’s unreal. i think in the movie she’s aesthetically absolutely perfect. in terms of personality she’s not my favorite, some of the ones on stage lean a little more into the comedic potential and honestly a little hard into the emotional side too but i still absolutely adore movie version

now this is where we disagree!! i was so relieved when i found out how many songs made it through because they’re all so critical to the story. i’m still angry about the i think literally only one of miss honeys that was cut for time. i love love love love being jammed with music in stories like this because songs are just filled to the brim with characterization and give you such an insight into the story and the characters in such a short time that a straight show can’t necessarily provide. musically and lyrically both can tell you so much and open your eyes to so much new.

i do definitely understand being overwhelmed by it but personally i disagree there lol

revolting children and naughty are definitely both so high on my list. revolting children is a certified banger. and naughty in the movie was honestly cuter than i was expecting but that’s one of the first songs i fell in love with in the show and again has such a special place in my heart. it’s such a rich insight into who matilda is i just. mwah i love

and again we disagree!! i personally don’t think ‘96 matilda is shy and timid but i do agree that even still she’s a lot more bold in ‘22 and the stage production. but to be fair that’s on purpose, when the show was originally being produced and written and whatnot they wanted to differentiate themselves a lot from other shows that were well known at the time like annie for example, where the story kind of just. happens to them. matilda needs to have agency and drive her own story. and i personally always loved the twist of the child being the sort of hero for the adult

i’ve always seen matilda and miss honey as both mirrors and foils of each other in a strange way. miss honeys abuse makes her fawn and freeze, she’s a people pleaser and doesn’t know the strength she has inside her to fight back against the people who’ve hurt her until she encounters matilda. matilda’s abuse makes her sort of bristly and conniving. she’s clever, she knows trying to fight back outright will only make things worse for her, but she’s also not willing to sit back and let things happen to her without her consent. she says herself that she doesn’t understand people like that and she comes up with sneaky ways to drive her own story and i personally really like that

i also personally don’t agree that it’s not an accurate depiction. miss honeys abuse at least in 2022 is very physical and emotional, so her being the way she is and a little more passive in her experiences makes sense because that’s how she adapted to be, to hide in the background and avoid being perceived so people can’t get in and hurt her

matilda’s seems to be mostly neglect and verbal abuse. her hair is unbrushed and she has to feed herself, people don’t care about her experiences, etc. speaking from experience neglect like that forces you to grow up so, so much quicker than any child should have to. she’s strong because she has to be and because she doesn’t have anyone else to be strong for her. if she’s not, she won’t survive. she has to be capable enough to care for herself. and it also does make you very very very angry so like launching folks out of windows tracks lol

i DO agree here tho i do wish we got to see more of them together. what we do see is so sweet and 2022 obviously follows the beats of the movie more closely where a lot of their bonding experience was shortened or removed for time so they could fit everything in to an hour and a half show lol. i love 1996 mostly because you get to see so much of their relationship dynamic and get a really deep understanding of why they understand each other so much and work so well together. i think there’s a good bit of that in the musical versions still but i do agree that it’s not quite as rich as you see in 1996 with them sneaking into the big house together and everything.

although i did kind of like the sort of urgency to it in 2022. we don’t see them getting to know each other SUPER well (though they clearly do even tho we don’t see every single moment) and miss honey is still so desperate that matilda stays and they stay together. i think that’s kind of cute in a heartbreaking way but again i do agree that i wish we got to see more.

I like to read, draw, do cross stitch, bake, dance, take walks in the forest by my house, spend time with my pets, friends and family… but I’m a musician first and foremost, I play the violin 🎶 Can I ask about what you do at your jobs? (But it’s totally okay of you don’t want to answer that!)

Hey! first of all i wanted to say so so sorry for taking forever to answer this, this has been the craziest month for me, just non stop haha! I haven't done circus in a long time, I did pole dancing classes for a bit last year but stopped after getting too busy, I live super close to my old circus now so i'm considering restarting classes next year! //Thank you for referencing and linking my fic. ❤️ I agree, I think that's how it would happen. I cannot see Coriolanus coming up with the idea alone, even though he knows he needs a good political alliance to assure his ascent to the Presidency.

I think what starts out as a relationship and then marriage of convenienc/alliance has the potential to become something more. I can see them both developing an obsession over the other. Especially if mpreg happens because then Felix is carrying his children. He would honestly be so against himself getting pregnant and I think it would cause a fight between him and Gaul if she tried to insist. But Felix pregnant? Well, that's a different story. He needs heirs and that's the only way and even if Felix was reluctant, Coriolanus would talk him/seduce him into it.

If he's developed feelings over Felix by this stage, he would be worried for him. Having seen how Gauls experiments can go wrong and he would also think of how his own mother died in childbirth. So if they have twins, he would be satisfied with the two children, not wanting to put Felix (or himself) through that again.

He would never change his own name from Snow, not even to tie in with his political alliance. He is always, first and foremost, a Snow. He accepts the twins have taken one surname of theirs each but once he's President and Max is dead, he demands they all change to Snow. Yes, it's ego and also symbolic to show the people of Panem the regime change.

If Coriolanus has developed feelings for Felix, he's still not above killing him if he becomes a problem for him. However he would be slower to kill him in that case. I also think he would have such tight control over Felix and their home, he would discover a plan for him to kill himself and do everything he could to stop it. Suicide is messy in Coriolanus' eyes and while it might give him sympathy, Felix is more valuable to him alive. Not the political alliance certainly but he also has the loyalty of Persephone Price and Festus Creed because of the marriage and he doesn't want to risk losing that. In many ways, he views Felix as both his Queen and Pawn in the Game he's playing - even when he has feelings for him.

Now, in a world where Felix kills Max for Coriolanus, that gets interesting. In my mind, Coriolanus has killed Gaul (she's a threat to him and needs to go. Besides, the next step for him is her job and he knows she will die in that role so he's just speeding things up) and taken her job as Head Game Maker and Head of the War Department. She's a threat to him (she knows too much) and maybe she's been pushing him to have them get Felix pregnant again. So he kills her and slips into the role, which only gains him popularity across the Capitol. But a few more years pass and Coriolanus is getting impatient. He's wondering if he should kill Max. He has enough access. And then Felix does it instead, telling Coriolanus that he did it for him, for them. He's caught somewhere between impressed and scared because he didn't think Felix had it in him to kill and certainly not a family member. He does indeed then wonder when his life became a messed up romance instead of a political drama, although perhaps it can be both? They answer to no one now as he's the new ruler and Panem belongs to them.

Gaul's probably cackling with joy that she gets to do mpreg (again? citation needed???). For funsies, I think they should have twins (sorry Felix, who I imagine is the one pregnant... Gaul would want the Ravinstill of the pair to be the one pregnant). The twins are named Crassus Ravinstill and Maximinius Snow for maximum cold, aloof father figure damage. (or maybe Gaul would make them both get pregnant?) I don't think Coriolanus is compromising with hyphenation for his last name but he can't for political reasons while Max is president force Felix to change his.

If Felix fucking kills himself after Coriolanus gets busy gaining influence/running the country to get Coriolanus' attention after the marriage takes a turn, I think Max (President Ravinstill) becomes catatonic in a chair which doesn't help Coriolanus try and spin the media away from the truth
