Hi ! Here is a list of all the gears I know and can imagine, I will extend the list as my ideas come!

I mostly know gears for therians, so I apologize to those who don't recognize themselves in the list.

If you are looking for gift ideas for a therian friend, if you want to make yourself a new discreet gear to not attract attention, or on the contrary you are trying to find an original gear to express yourself freely in public, I recommend this list!

Gears that can be worn :

⚝Mask

A classic: I'm talking about the masks that we see everywhere on YouTube shorts and TikTok. Simple and effective. Plus it's a beautiful art, it doesn't surprise me that many are fans of creating it!

⚝Muzzle-mask, beak-mask

These masks are much less known, but I dream of having one one day! It is a mask that covers the lower part of the face, to make it look like a snout or a beack. Unfortunately there aren't many tutorials (on YouTube anyway)

⚝Fur tails

Another great classic, I would pay good money to have one! It's so... perfect. But be careful! Don't buy tails anywhere! Most of the time they come from very cruel fur farms, so I advise you to watch the videos of Torn (therian territory) or PD on the subject to recognize an ethical or cruel tail.(These channels are on youtube) I swear to you that even dyed or so-called "fake" tails can be real and cruel... Be careful!

You can also make tails out of yarn, there are many tutorials and while it does take a lot of time its so worth it!! The result is often so fluffy! (thanks a lot to @newbornlight who suggested I add these tails to my list!)

⚝Collar

Very effective if you are an alter/nonhuman whose type is domesticated ! And even if you are not, it can symbolize your nonhuman identity stuck/domesticated in a human world. There is a more discreet alternative, if you prefer: chokers! I have one that I made myself with black ribbon and a bracelet clasp. I sometimes add a pendant that looks like a small collar tag !

⚝muzzle

May have the same meaning as collar. It can be a good alternative to muzzle-masks which are quite rare.

⚝Fake ears

So cool and often so realistic...

⚝Gloves/mittens

This can make your human paw look like your type's paw! But be careful when you want to buy some, some are not of such good quality so the glue can come off with use (thanks again to @newbornlight who warned me that this could be the case!)

⚝Paw socks

Very comfortable and very euphoric. I like it. (same warning for glue that can coming off)

⚝Shoes

I've seen some amazing digigrade shoes before (to give you an idea of what it looks like, it's a heeled shoe without a heel) including shoes that look like clogs, but there are some for many different species !

I've also seen beings make lines on the white part of their converse to make it look like paws !!!

Some people buy or make shoes with a certain relief on the bottom so that they make tracks resembling the footprints of their type! (thanks to @sillysatyr for adding it to the list :3)

⚝Different shapes of pants

If your type is imposing, you can opt for cargo pants! For theriotypes with long and thin legs, but big hooves/paws, I recommend flared pants! (I think that's what it's called in English)

I have species dysphoria about not being as big and impressive as my theriotype, but since I started wearing cargo pants and other baggy pants, I feel more confident.

⚝A coat with faux fur and/or your theriotype on it

⚝Fake horns, fake antlers

Awwww those are so cute

⚝Wings

Attached to the arms for birds, on the back for dragons/insects!

It's one of the most gorgeous types of gears, and I imagine it's very effective.

⚝Contact lenses

To change the color of your eye, the shape of your pupil, etc.

⚝Makeup

I don't know if you can really consider this a gear but put a little eye shadow under the nose, a line in the little hollow that connects the nose to the mouth, and black lipstick on the upper lip can be very euphoric for some! Of course there are many other different makeup looks for all types... And don't forget, makeup is not for girls, it's for the skin✨

⚝Nails (claws)

I really like growing my nails out, cutting them into almond shapes so they look like claws. No need to grow them out a lot, or make them very prickly, do as you like!

You can also use fake nails!

⚝Paper claws

There are a lot of different tutorials on youtube, usually they are in origami, so I hope you like folding paper ^^'

⚝Legs/arms warmers

To feel like you have fur on your arms/legs, to protect myself from the cold. I made some out of wool, crocheted.

⚝Kigurumi !

A very comfortable and cute little costume, I would really like to have one! For those who don't know, it's a kind of very soft one-piece pajamas with a hood. On this hood there are sometimes animal ears, sometimes horns, at the back there is sometimes a tail, etc. there are some for many different species!

⚝Claw ring

Rings that look like claws. This is so cool! I'm going to buy some soon!

⚝Any accessory with a theta delta on it

Of course !

⚝Any accessory that represents your type

⚝Mermaid tail

I've seen costumes like this before, I think the cetacean therians and mermaidkin might like it.

⚝Tattoo

Whether it's a temporary or permanent tattoo, it can be a great way to get closer to your type. Having your identity or the symbol of it on your body can be very pleasant! I even saw someone with his type's fur pattern tattooed on his shoulder.

I just want to clarify that if you want to get a permanent tattoo, I advise you to think carefully about the location, the shape, etc. to be sure.

⚝Sweatshirts/hats with animal ears/horns/antlers on them!

It's very "normal-like", and it can be very reassuring to feel it on your head.

⚝Deer antlers (in the form of a headband)

Very cute! (credits to @zombi-teeth who suggested it to me in the comments ;3)

I have a collection of feathers at home, I'm not a bird therian but it gives me a "predatory pleasure" to have a piece of prey as a trophy at home! (Without harming an animal, of course! I pick up these feathers from the ground)

I will probably give a tutorial later on how to create your own stickers, I will also make drawings to cut out to transform into stickers.

⚝Drawings, paintings, etc. of your type

Art is a great way to express yourself!

⚝A mineral/crystal that is associated with your type

In many cultures, stones are associated with animals. Some even use them for meditation.

Did you know that amber is prehistoric tree resin that has hardened over time? I think this fun fact will please paleotherians ;3

⚝A book about your type or its habitat

Read up on your own species to learn more about yourself.

⚝A prey of your type in plush form!

To hunt or nibble in we get bored.

⚝An object that diffuses the scent of your type's habitat

It could be an essential oil diffuser, a potpourri, or just anything that smells like the forest, for example.

⚝ A Tamagotchi

It's a small virtual animal/creature that you have to take care of. There are many different characters, you will surely find one of the species of your type ! This little retro item can really please anyone who feels lonely as an animal in human society.

⚝A chewable stim toy

For those who have shifts/instincts about chewing/biting things!

⚝A whistle that reproduces the sounds of your type!

I have already seen some very pretty ones in wood for example, they can also be suitable as decorative objects! (credits again to @zombi-teeth who gave me the idea)

I just have to enthuse about how far horse therian gear has come in the last decade. Before the unicorn fad in the early 2010s, you couldn't find anything resembling horse ears or a tail anywhere. When I was 12, I was depending on some vaguely-shaped mystery animal ears from Claire's, but now you have unicorn headbands and tails everywhere. Not to mention tutorials for how to make realistic ears and tails are much easier to access now. And we can't forget how the ren faire/cosplay/costuming scene becoming mainstream in the last 20 years.

Like yeah, I'm sure people have been doing the same DIYs for years (turning a human wig into a horse tail, making elaborate stilts and rigs for animal/furry/centaur costumes), but an artist is selling high-quality hoof shoes for $200. I do not get to have homemade hooves and legs and stuff because I don't have the tools, money, or physical ability. But I can buy something online, hello??

Hi, I'm wondering what your take on combining animal features together in a cohesive way would be? Especially in the case of animals that look vastly different from each other or aren't even in the same sort of groups (ie say, cephalopods with mammals). I'm trying to achieve the "looks like one singular animal" type of thing that has been mentioned in your centaur posts, but I keep ending up with creatures that look like they've been frankenstein-ed together.

I need to make a full tutorial on this as well i think, but the tldr is this:

pick your creatures

identify their visual similarities and differences

identify the most iconic parts of each creature that you want to preserve in the final design

smush em together like clay and redraw them as many times as it takes for things to look more cohesive (sorry)

example:

sometimes in the process, you find that one of the creatures you picked just has a stronger effect on the design than the others, and that's fine! with more draft sketches, I would probably end up changing the shape of these horns to be more unique, maybe give it shorter legs and lean into the porcupine's arboreal nature. or I could go the other way and try to lean more into the pronghorn body shape, make this a running animal. it all depends on the role i want it to have in whatever setting i'm designing it for, and which features will best serve that role.

I also used very random animals here, but for an actual project i would plan it out more and have an end goal in mind. why is this pig-like creature covered in sharp quills? why does it have quills, horns, and also tusks? what's its diet and habitat? etc etc. you need to not only work with the visual design, but also the world design. it's a living thing in your setting, so it needs to fill a niche. your final design may abandon many distinct features from your original creature inspirations in favor of making a more unique creature that suits your setting! you have to be flexible with it and redo it a few times before you find the sweet spot.

Hello everyone!

Here's sheep MC from Obey me in crochet form! ^.^

They're not fully done yet (their butt is bald) but here they are

Below is some information on how I made it though it's not perfect

For the horns I used this tutorial (though I did slightly alter it so the horns would be a bit more curled.)

Here they are from the side so you can see the horns more

The base is just a oval but one that's larger at the bottom than the top. For mineI started from the bottom to the top and I did a few rows of the hexagon circle pattern - I don't know what it's actually called but it's basically

6sc[6],6inc[12], 6(1sc-1inc)[18], 6(2sc-1inc)[24], 6(3sc-1inc)[30], etc.

and then I crocheted a few rows the same length and decreased gradually until I liked the shape kind of like

6 rows of 90sc, 6(13sc-dec)[84], 6 rows of 84, 6(12sc-dec)[78], 6 rows of 78, etc

Though this will vary based on how you decide to make it

When you like the shape and want to finish it try to end on a multiple of 8 or just decrease in a way to get a multiple of 8 like if you have 60sc then decrease only 4 times to get 56 which is a multiple of 8, then to finish the head decrease in an octagonal pattern like

72sc, 8(7sc-dec)[64], 8(6sc-dec)[56], 8(5sc-dec)[48], 8(4sc-dec)[40], etc.

So that the head would be flatter and then easier to put the balls on top and shape the head a bit so they don't look entirely like an egg.

For the little wool balls I just made a bunch of half circles in a bunch of different sizes (I used 3 different sizes for variation) and sewed them on, though they are all stretched out beforehand since I didn't have much string and needed to get the most out of my current batch of urple. I also gave them long tails in the end to make it easier to sew them on.

And for the feet I just made a half circle and once I liked how long the hooves (the yellow part) was I single crocheted into the back loop (or whichever loop would be facing they inner part of the feet so that there is a line outside for you when your finished making the entire foot) and added my main color (white) and single crocheted until I liked the foot size

For the eyes I made a magic circle and crocheted 5 single crochets into it before slip stitching to close it and using that stitch kinda like the eyelashes they have in their in-game picture.

I made a few other eye variations but I didn't really like them

The bell is just a crochet oval (or a circle with more normal rows that are not increasing to decreasing in number of stitches within a row)

For the bow I used this tutorial and again I altered it slightly so that it would look good on MC to me.

And here they are basically as I was beginning to put the parts together

Hope y'all like em (also I'm using American crochet terms so my single crochets might be double crochets if you live in the UK, and it may be different in other parts of the world just to give y'all a heads up)

The main beginning stitch I used for everything (except the bow) were magic circles just to let you all know just in case you need to learn a new skill in order to make them

Besides the stitches in the videos I only used single crochets (back loop/front loop for feet details) and sewing everything on

Goodbye I hope this may help a little bit if you want your own personalized MC plushie and remember to hydrate or diedrate

(I also may be making personalized charms to represent some of the boys in the game but it depends if I can actually get their sin logo? appearance? symbol? correct since they are pretty detailed)

Hello! Sorry to bother you, but I'm looking to make a pair of harpy legs for the sims 4. I have no experience in modding or modeling, but I'm going to start learning both soon. Sorry for all the exposition, I really was just wondering about any tips or even how you made your digitgrade legs and paws/hooves. They're beautiful, and even though I doubt I'll make anything close, getting some advice from a professional would be oh so very appreciated.

not a bother at all, though I would definitely not call myself a professional lol. I am some guy with a dubious workflow and a dream.

for basic blender stuff there are a ton of youtube tutorials that will be more useful than anything I could say, but if you're looking for advice on making unconventional leg shapes for ts4 in particular, my main advice would be to preserve the existing joints and work around them rather than fighting them. As long as the hips, knees, and ankle joints have basically the same placement as the vanilla mesh, it will make weight painting miles easier and keep everything looking nice during gameplay (even if you're more into screenshots and storytelling, poses are still made with the default mesh in mind and you'll have a lot more freedom to use them if your joints and weights are done thoughtfully).

second thing is do the uv-1 map. it sucks and it's tedious and I haven't really found a better way to do it than one stupid vertex at a time but you gotta. it will solve 90% of problems you might encounter with mystery distortions and split seams, and it will let you actually use weight sliders. similarly, I'd really recommend mimicking the vanilla mesh's topology as closely as you can to make this easier.

I'm planning to do a kind of video tutorial thing for how I make new feet for the digilegs just so people have it as a resource to make their own parts, so hopefully that might be helpful as well when it's done.

Nanni:

Even if she is the stereotypical hot blonde girl she isn't stupid, trusting? Yes but not stupid.

Matching nails, it doesn't matter your personality nor your opinion on nail polish you at the very LEAST have your pinkies done to match hers and at the MOST have matching outfits too!

I have this feeling she would volunteer at the library with Muu and gush about the best couples in town. Occationally Rhok'zan joins in to be filled in on all the relationship gossip.

Easily apologizes for her actions in the cult without you asking her to, forgets who she's already apologized to and starts a list in her bedroom.

The only one with family to meet! (None of the other cultists Mentioned family) Nanni constantly elbows you to not mention the cult stuff in front of her parents because they forgot when the world ended and started again.

Also+ double dates with Rhok'zan and Stardust! You are good friends with the pair (How does one give hooves a manicure? Nanni probably looks up a tutorial about caring for goat and Cow hooves to take inspiration from to do it herself)

Rhok'zan loves your relationship with Nanni! You're adorable and she's expecting younglings from you asap! She would love to babysit!

Billy:

Hear me out, Billy is opening a gym, it just feels right. The Gym is based on honor and respect and keeps the utopian folks from "getting soft"

Your "romantic moments" are wrestling eachother to the ground at the gym. She probably kicks your butt no matter how good or bad of shape you are in.

Takes the longest to apologize for any of her actions in the cult, mostly she's just apologizing to Rhok'zan and Stardust.

You two probably keep the town safe by just existing, every Utopia has people who want to mess it up but- look at Billy and think "would I want to fight her and do her loved ones harm?-" No. She will go John wick.

Kid annoys Billy but you don't mind him, it's funny to watch them interact. Sometimes you take Kid with you to the gym just to mess with Billy.

Despite how rough tough and difficult Billy is, helping her braid her hair is a soft activity you two probably do. She is a tad tsundere about it but... she totally could do her hair herself, so she's letting you do it.

Rhok'zan is Concerned, she knows all relationships are different but watching Billy pin you to the floor in a chokehold (lovingly) has her perplexed.

Kid:

I had the most ideas for him first, hear me out- You write and play music together! (Or if you're not musically talented you help the best ya can!)

In Rhok'zan's almost utopian world you two are like a two person boy band working on making his dream come true without Bucks magic brainwashing.

Or you're like his manager, keeping him from doing stupid things in the heat of the moment.

But first there is the guilt, he cannot apologize to most of the people he wronged because they don't remember. He remembers and it causes him doubt about his career on bad days.

Similarly to wondering if his fans have the free will to love him, he wonders if you too are somehow brainwashed by this world. Prepare for clingy mornings and "are you sure you're not under a spell-"

"Yes, I'm sure you dummy."

Given its a masculine reader- sharing clothes and accessories, he loves to match! At the very least match bracelets at all times.

Rhok'zan thinks your relationship is adorable! You're good for eachother (and definitely wants to use her powers to get you some kids but that's intense!)

Buck:

"I can fix him I swear." I'm kidding! If I can love Nyanlathotep, you can love Buck.

It took a while for stardust to convince Buck to come see the Utopia world. That is when you met.

The first thing is his appearance, he is... messed up, but I just imagine after the equivalent of eons gazing at the stars he has this cool starry look to him. Give the man smoochy kisses to make him feel better, just smother him in affection-

Emotional support, Therapy human.

You are quickly trusted to supervise him and be his tour guide around. Buck has no access to magic nor is he really mad anymore.

You get him some nice clothes and he stays with you at your home, he is a homebody these days with his appearance and what he's done.

Eventually you set up a meeting with the others (Nanni, Kid, Billy and Stardust) for apologies but getting Him and Rhok'zan in the same room is far harder- given he tortured her and they are Exes.

Rhok'zan is worried about you with your relationship but definitely thinks you are good for Buck. Keeps an eye on you jussst in case she thinks he mistreats you.

My latest work

After completing @sewdesune 's tutorial plushies, I went ahead and tackled some of her more intermediate designs. Here's how they turned out:

Sylveon (eeveelution sitting pattern)

This absolute icon (and best eeveelution, no cap) was a true step up in difficulty for me.

For starters: I made some basic mistakes in a few details, like not checking the eyes for symmetry (rulers are your best friend!) nor cutting the bow seam allowance in the right shape, leading them to getting slightly deformed after turning outside out.

The most difficult part was the neck, since it involved sewing a straight edge into a curved one, which I had never done before. Took me a few tries, and it still didn't come out quite right (its a bit sunken in). But it was a valuable learning experience, nonetheless.

This sylveon served as a warm up for an even more challenging project:

Fluttershy (mlp pattern)

This was my very first commisioned work (kinda?), since I made it as a birthday gift to my older sister, who loves horses in general. She really liked the gen4 patterns I showed to her, and so I went right to work on this shy equine.

The body is much more slender and complex in comparison to the previous patterns, which required some very careful sewing on my part. like sylveon's neck, the foot bottoms also involved a lot of curved sewing, but I managed to do it right this time (for the smaller front hooves, I would recommend hand sewing.)

I got to fill some spots with poly pellets this time around. They really help with dustributing weight around the plush, especially towards the limbs and hind bottoms. (Always remember to use a funnel though, cuz these things are a nightmare to handle by hand >_<)

For the wings, I tried to add more stability to the pieces by adding a layer of felt underneath them. This helped the wings keep their shape, but they still hang a little bit too flopply from the main body. Still, a noticeable step up from previous projects.

Needless to say, Sis really loved her gift :)
