Y'ALL CAN EXCUSE RACISM?

Let's get one thing straight: I have no part in this chaotic mess (infact, I have blocked all the accounts mentioned below), but it's grinding my gears how it's devolving into another petty fanfic drama: case 607. I know this drama is getting the attention for certain individuals who are demonstrating mean girl behaviour and gossiping about other writers behind their backs. However, I am solely focused on addressing the racist and discriminatory remarks made by these individuals in the leaked text messages.

For those not in the loop, there's been a huge drama in the fanfic community involving leaked text messages from a group chat of four prominent members. In these messages, two users - Fae and Bel - have admitted to sending hate anons and talking smack about other writers behind their backs. Two other members left the group after it was revealed that B tried to make amends with someone who these two, Em and Ange, don't particularly care for. As a move to clear their names, Em exposed all the texts, trying to prove that Fae and Bel are the real villains here.

But wait, there's more! In these same chats, Bel not only mocked fellow non-English speakers but also bragged about sending rat emojis to an 18-year-old Pakistani writer who was already receiving racist anons. While everyone is focused on getting back at these two women for being shady af, it's mind-boggling how Em and Ange are suddenly jumping on the anti-racism train.

These two ladies stayed in the same chat as a fellow Pakistani writer was driven away because of racism, knowing full well that one of their own was contributing to it, and said NOTHING! Zero discouragement, no condemnation - they only hopped off when things got personal.

So here it is… I've had it with all of you hypocrites. You praise and encourage these women at every turn, feeding their egos like they're the second coming of Beyonce. But let's not forget who's always stirring up drama in this fandom - hint: it's these same people with a sense of entitlement the size of a planet. The issue is groupthink and y'all have all jumped on the bandwagon. You're worse than HBO's marketing department because just like their shitty teams, everyone involved here SUCKS ASS. You don't have to pick a side because they are all petty, mean losers. Bel and Fae are facing the consequences of their actions, which they rightfully deserve.

However, Em's exposé on Bel's racism seems more like an opportunistic move and it's disappointing that so many of you are supporting it. It's a predictable cycle now; there will be a half-hearted apology, an announcement of a hiatus, and then tons of people will flock to their inboxes to shower them with praise and excuses. It's ridiculous! I know there are many who feel the same way as me but are afraid to speak up because they don't want to upset the "village elders" and risk losing their connections and engagements. It's a joke atp!

Instead of taking responsibility for their own wrongdoings, they will come up with a list of 10 different cyber crimes by others to divert attention from their own nonsense. These very same women have confessed to creating multiple fake accounts, secretly stalking servers without mods noticing, and constantly harassing individuals through anon messages.

Yet, we are supposed to consider them as examples of moral integrity and ethical behavior? 😒

I've already said before how much I can't stand Screenrant, and yet I fall for this clickbaiting rage bait every time I see it among my Google recommendations. Seriously... every time.

And I don't make posts like this because I think it's going to change the minds of anyone who irrationally hates the Jedi because someone in the fandom convinced them too by using guiding terminology. No, I make posts like this so that when someone goes looking, they'll find opinions that differ from what's popular, as well as using facts from the source material to back up those opinions.

So we're just going to go through this, point by point, and highlight the flaws in this "argument."

The only question I have for this is Why?

Why would an organization dedicated to defending peace and justice throughout the galaxy not have a base of operations? This is a question I'll repeat later on for one of these other "points," but it just bears repeating. How is the populace of the galaxy supposed to reach out to these new Jedi for help if they can't find them?

And while it sounds nice on the surface to travel the galaxy and train padawans as she goes, it's totally impractical, considering she's the ONLY Jedi doing this. Like, do you have any idea how long it would take to train new Jedi this way?

Like, I'm all for Jedi traveling the galaxy to bring peace and all that, but to do that, you have to have Jedi to travel.

I know this point has been talked about repeatedly, but let's once again hash this out.

The Jedi did not forbid relationships!

Relationships happen all the time, from romantic to familial to friendship. The Jedi frowned upon attachment. And before anyone hops on this post or jumps into my inbox, please look up the philosophy of nonattachment as it pertains to Buddhism and Eastern Philosophy.

Also, look up the difference between an attachment and a connection.

A Jedi's whole purpose was to put the needs of others first. That's their whole schtick. And if a Jedi couldn't put their commitment to the Order and the Republic above their own wants and desires, they were always free to leave. There are plenty of other Force-based groups in the Galaxy that didn't frown upon attachment or relationships. I don't understand why so many people think that the Jedi should have to change their entire philosophy to account for a few selfish individuals.

Go back and read the books and comics from over the years. With very few exceptions, every time a Jedi tried to have their cake and eat it too, they fell to the Dark Side. So Rey's Order actively encouraging relationships (because that's what Fandom is about anymore) is just going to continue the cycle of the Jedi Order falling because "how dare this ancient organization follow its rules and not throw out their entire philosophy" and thus starting the cycle all over again.

Yes, because having multitude of voices with differing opinions and viewpoints is bad. They should all just do their own thing, Lone Ranger style, regardless of how such chaos defeats the entire purpose of the Jedi.

Side note: what movies was this author watching where they came up with the idea that the Jedi Council thought they owned the Force?

The ranking system was there for a reason.

Can you imagine a new initiate coming to Rey and saying, "Hey, I know I've only been training here for two weeks, but I deserve to look at that Sith holocron because I'm a Jedi and we're all equal members with no rank."

You want them to be vigilantes.

Just say you want them to be vigilantes.

The entire point of the Jedi being such a prominent part of the Republic was to avoid bias in justice. We've seen how Senators and politicians and law enforcement could be bought off, but that wasn't the case for the Jedi. They were impartial peacekeepers and their place within the Republic was a vital part of that.

To me, this feels like the author wanted the Jedi to say, "Since you're mean to us, we're not going to help you," which is the complete antithesis of what the Jedi stand for.

"I'm sorry, ma'am. I know your toddler is Force-sensitive, and your house falls apart every time they have a temper tantrum, but I can't help you. We don't offer training until they're older and have already caused massive damage. Best of luck."

Yes, absolutely. Because the defenders of peace and justice throughout the galaxy who should strive to remain calm and keep a level head in the heat of the moment should have LESS training. We just want cops with lightsabers, right?

The Jedi did not join the Republic as a military unit. All the times they acted as military commanders throughout their history was at the insistence of the Republic. Hell, they were drafted to lead the clone armies during the Clone Wars.

The Clone Wars, which I'd like to remind everyone, were orchestrated by several Sith Lords over the span of a decade, after decades more of destabilizing the galaxy. The Jedi specifically tried to stop the Clone Wars from happening, but the deck was stacked against them.

All of this blame on the Jedi for the failures of the Senate and the direct machinations of a Sith Lord who chested his way to the highest office of the Republic.

I highly recommend these people look up what George Lucas has to say about the Jedi and the Force. He specifically says that the Dark-Side is unbalance.

I'd also like to point out that the first mention of "the Light Side" was in The Force Awakens. There is no mention of "the Light" in the Original Trilogy or the Prequels. The "Light" is the balance.

This has been discussed multiple times by multiple people, but apparently it bears repeating.

When did they not "pay attention" to Force visions?

Because in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin has dreams about his mother and Padme, respectively, he doesn't tell Obi-Wan or Yoda the full extent of them. If he had told Obi-Wan what his dreams were about, they probably would have gone to save Shmi. And it was Anakin's own actions that led to Padme's death, the very thing he'd been dreaming about.

Hell, even when Luke had his Force vision in Empire Strikes back, if he'd heeded Yoda and been more cautious, he wouldn't have lost his hand. I want to remind people that when Luke showed up, Han Solo was already frozen in Carbonite, and Lando was able to save the others without the Jedi. All Luke being there accomplished was him receiving an ass-whoopin' and the revelation that he was Darth Vadar's son.

I don't know why people are so dedicated to trying to smear the Jedi at any and every opportunity, but it's getting boring. Especially when all one needs to do to refute these claims is to just watch the movies.

Like I said in my earlier post, this author wants Rey to create an entirely new organization and just slap the name Jedi on it for branding rights.

Promotion Commotion

(Shut up, not all my rhymes and alliterations can be winners)

Okay, so, here’s the deal: I have gotten baaaaaad at reading fics from my fellow writers. And while I fully believe that the “responsibility” of encouraging writers and artists in fandom shouldn’t be placed solely on the shoulders of fellow writers/artists, I still feel like I could be doing more. But between burnout, illness, and feeling like all of my energy should be poured into creating rather than consuming, I’ve fallen out of the habit of reading. I’d really like to change that. But there’s just so *much* that I’ve missed out on, so I’m feeling some decision paralysis.

So that’s where you, my lovely followers, come in. Is there a fic you’ve written that you’d like me to read? A fandom fave, written by a beloved author, which “everyone needs to read?” An underrated hidden gem that deserves some love? Hop on into my inbox! Oneshots, longfic, completed works, WIPs, abandoned projects - all are welcome!

I just have two requests for this: first, please limit yourself to one fic for me to read. Doesn’t matter how long it is. My experience on both sides of syscourse.

Pre syscourse/context

When I realized I was a system, I did hide it for years. I realized about 11 when I saw systems online and realized I personally related to a lot of their experiences. Especially the way they acted, the way they would interact with themselves. For years, I believed everyone had other 'people' or thought processes not of their own. That they could disappear when they were stressed. I know now that's not true, and only in 2020 did I really start getting into syscourse.

Pro Endo

I was pro endo for a few years, and I was a pretty vocal person about it. I was Pro Everything that wasn't illegal, and I was under the impression that as a concept it was harmless. But, being in the community I saw alot of flaws, I saw toxicity within the community. I was fakeclaimed and as a system we labeled ourselves as simply quoigenic and willogenic, as a way to repress our truama, with many people at the time insisting we were more than that, many saying we were "pokegenic" and "autigenic", and even some saying we were "Hospigenic" due to our childhood in the hospital. This made us sot ourselves down and look at ourselves and genuinely question "What are we". We witnessed our friends attempt con convince our singlet friends they were systems, our traumagenic friends that they weren't truamagenic. We personally saw people in our servers try and dox the truamagenic systems who didn't adopt labels, purely because of that. It was something that concerned us. After year we switched our veiw. We decided we didn't want to be associated with such a community, one that attempted for force labels onto people, so we switched our veiw.

Endo neutral

In mid 2021 I moved to a center, We didn't want to associate with the endogenic community, but didn't hate them, overall this was a nice place, it wasn't horrid. But again, similar issues arose, people within it constantly escalated arguments on the front of being an unbiased party. I noticed many many of them tended to circulate harmful rhetoric, especially against POC who spoke against them as a person if they happened to be a system , they went after them as people, their race, and things they held dear. This community was the shortest in terms of associating with it. Something That was unique to it was exactly how they dealt wit syscourse, they had contradictory opinions, many times, one example being endo neutral but anti nondisordered. I left after 6 months, it was full of people hopping between " I don't touch syscourse" and doing it untagged in 3 minutes, honestly it was the most stressful.

Anti Endo

We personally did a bit more research, realizing alot of things, but also again, wanted to no associate with either while staying in the syscourse circles, of course they had their issues, but we noticed that they would, rather than encourage it as the previous had, many shut it down when they could. I found friends here, who actually protected me, though many we're relentless. It made it harder to find spaces in the community where we could talk peacefully about our day-day life without being met with comments about our stance or hatred in our inbox, but out of that on discords, again, they were nice, unlike pro and neu who'd force syscourse onto you, antis encourage taking breaks. Now we acknowledge it does have its issues; being very adamant and unable to back down, I'll admit we're guilty of this as well. Being in this community has made us feel safer. Again, though, an issue is here, anti self diagnosis runs rampant, along with the idea you know exactly who you are. When we realized we were mixed, we had a few anons yell at us for "race faking".

Conclusion

As an entity, the syscourse community is foul. Racism, ablism, doxxing, toxicity, and misrepresentation of arguments all run rampant on many sides of it. The pros and neu encourage ignoring your own health in order to argue your own existence. The anti has an issue of not backing down. The pros has a long history of doxxing and targeting of PoC. The neutrals use personal attacks as arguments. Overall, it's a raging battlefield of counter and cross attacks, horrible in-fighting and general ignoring and discarding of peoples boundaries to go after them. All sides have issues you must work on in order to collectively build cooperation on your points before as a whole we can actually get somewhere with this on-going discussion.

i’ve been wanting to say this for a while, and im still not sure i’m gonna say it right, but i really appreciate your blog. i’ve been having issues with my ovaries for a while and it’s still not clear if i’m fertile or even gonna get to Keep my ovaries much longer. it’s been really stressful, because i really want to be able to get pregnant, and i might never be able to. but one of the worst parts is that i’m transmasc, and a lot of people- including my own family- can’t wrap their heads around being a man and wanting to be pregnant. even other transmascs seem to think i can’t actually be trans and genuinely want this. people pity me cus they think Society is what made me feel this way, and they have to “help” by convincing me this is something i don’t actually want.

you and all your followers have been the opposite of that. seeing so many other transmascs who openly (and sometimes desperately) want to experience pregnancy has made me feel like so much less of an other. seeing people who aren’t transmasc but have transmasc friends/partners being so encouraging and supportive when this is something they want has felt so validating. it’s such a positive and welcoming environment here, and it’s so comforting.

so i guess the main takeaway is everyone should keep being horny, because there’s at least one person who really appreciates it.

I've said it before, and I'll continue saying it long into the future for old and new followers alike-- this blog exists because I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel appreciated, validated, and seen in regard to this kink. I don't care what parts anyone was born with, what parts anyone has now, or what anyone's age(18+)/gender/sexuality is. Anyone can feel the desire to be pregnant or to impregnate someone else, and that feeling should be celebrated.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble with your original plumbing, Aster, and that you aren't sure if you'll be able to conceive. That's a really shitty situation to be in when you actually want to get pregnant. I've known a few people on Tumblr who are in similar health-related situations, and I just wish I could give all of you a big hug (if it's wanted). It's really not fair. The universe is pretty shit for allowing that to happen in the first place. But you're not alone, okay? I don't know how much comfort that offers you, but there are folks out there who commiserate, understand what you're struggling with, and hope that you'll be able to eventually find happiness regardless of what happens.

And yeah... family and society can suck big time sometimes. OFC you can't be male and want to carry a child, right? /s In my opinion, those people are nothing more than gatekeepers who have no business being involved in your body and business. The knowledge that these kinds of opinions are so commonplace really pisses me off. The desire to procreate is a ridiculously ordinary (though not universal) part of being human, so why shouldn't anyone be allowed to use the parts they have to make a baby if they want to? just an a/n from ao3 about fic comments and messages on death in pink

I’m a little surprised this needs to be said, but I’ve also not discouraged it before now, so some of that’s on me—picking apart a chapter I’ve posted (criticizing it, overanalyzing it, projecting on it, whatever) except to like maybe note a line you liked or something is not conducive to the enthusiasm and joy it takes to continue and ultimately finish what’s essentially a serialized WIP.

Additionally hopping into my Tumblr DMs and getting overfamiliar with me is also a source of discomfort. Asking a question is fine if you don’t want to use an actual “ask” for that, I get it and it’s cool, but anything past that is more than I signed up for. Getting those critiques via DM is, believe it or not, also not great and is somehow more uncomfortable than the AO3 comments described above.

Maybe you think you’re helping. Like fair enough. But it’s not helpful. Please don’t do either. It freaks me out to a degree and adds pressure to something I am doing for fun and posting for fun. 

It’d be different re: the picking apart of actual pull quotes if this were a finished work fully posted but it’s not. Usually when I’ve posted a new chapter, I’ve been working on it up until literal seconds before it shows up in your inbox/bookmarks. Getting those sorts of comments or DMs within minutes of that sort of work is a fucking atrocity to my motivation and mental health because it’s the equivalent of getting the half-digested, chewed-up version of something I spent hours on spat back at me.

The answer isn’t continuing to do as I’ve done and tolerate and maybe unintentionally encourage it by responding and trying to nudge the conversation in a kinder direction (unfortunately). It’s not my job. :’)

I’m a sensitive person, it’s true, but I’m also published and no stranger to criticism…on a finished project that I’ve flung into the ether and have no immediate need to look at ever again if I don’t want to. I’m coming back to this every day, sometimes twice a day, and in the last couple of chapters’ worth of time, I’ve started to dread it. I’ll stop if I keep dreading it, so instead I’m writing a very uncomfortable A/N for the next chapter that I will now have to force myself through drafting. Or I’ll post this by itself. No idea.

I was going to just hide activity from users that this is happening with so only I had to deal with any fallout and didn’t create discomfort for the people causing me discomfort, but knowing what I’m like I’d find a way to read those sorts of things anyway. Honestly, I don’t even know who those comments are for—if they’re for me and meant to dissect what is essentially my ongoing draft in real-time, that’s kind of fucked; and if they’re meant to start a discussion with other readers, that’s cool and all but they come to my inbox and I read every single one.

No one’s called out. No one’s in trouble. Anything prior to this getting posted is off the board. That said, we can chill out and be lighthearted about the things we say from this point or the block button will become my new best friend bc I do want to keep writing this and I don’t have the emotional energy to afford space to people who make me uncomfortable. Especially after I've made my discomfort this (gestures vaguely) abundantly clear.

Anyway. This doesn't apply to the majority of people who have commented, so I also want to acknowledge and appreciate that amidst my boundary barf.

Hello to all who have followed and anyone who may hate me. Me and wife have been blessed with beautiful children and I will be 100% archiving this account. I was never really active beforehand until haters began spamming my inbox with the anger of being exposed.

I wish the future of fandom could go back to the way it was and what I mean by that is following the rules of basic human decency

2 Have you come across an artist or author who makes content that makes you feel super uncomfortable? Please block and continue with your life.

3 Fictional characters do not need your undying protection, regardless of age, disability, trauma, because they are unreal characters. Maybe some of you guys would not be exposed on this account if you guys protected real people like you have fake characters. If you ever forget what fictional means please quickly Google and cool yourselves off

4 Because someone has account dedicated to specific ship or content of certain characters does not mean that these are their morals or beliefs. I mean a lot of you love Steven Universe and MLP: Friendship Is Magic (shows about love, tolerance, redemption, forgiveness) but are some of nastiest attitudes towards people who are vastly different from you. The real world also does not work like this and you will be clowned by non nerds/normal people.

I hope everyone can learn lesson from this account and understand that some people you think are cool are actually not, some people that rant and constantly post about ships/topics they hate are actually the biggest fans of it, adults that have a massive following and a server comprising of mainly children are most likely a genuine creep and are using them. Please be aware of red flags, there NO such thing as "sfw kink". Kink is kink and it is called kink because it derived from sexual pleasure. Some of you have dark secrets and that is why you specifically target these people I am sure they will come to light in time I wonder what your weird following of young people and 'friends' will think of you then.

I do not ask for all to become best friends but if you are just fandom hopping with same mentality of bullying people who treat fake/unreal/imaginary characters differently than you, then YOU are going to bring fandom culture down as a whole like loser. I ask and encourage you all to do so much better.

I am sure there are plenty more to expose in this fandom, but no one has come forward with more and I am sure I have missed some, but I unfollowed most of zanytwt because you all were so toxic and negative and not just toward saneytwt, but to each other and it was really disgusting. It is also so funny how most of you were screaming about the Warners being children and now are saying "well ashully the Warners are definitely old in the reboot." How convient for you I guess. It shows how miserable some of you really are by believing silly theories about cartoons being real life.

Be kind to each other and if you cannot, then do not be mean and rude just block (unless an actual real person is being hurt, then please defend them and make sure they are ok)

I wish the innocent people who were just minding their business and creating their weird content for other weird people the upmost best in fandom and creation.

it’s childish, embarrassing, and sad. like i feel bad for her that she has this attachment to tumblr and feels the need to anon herself and cause things (unrelated) to this to make her internet life more interesting. it’s like another rashad, as i said before, where people are insecure or in a bad place so they get on the internet and it ultimately becomes more than a fun escape and just their life to a point that they go out of their way to defend by saying empty points and sad ass comebacks. that’s why she deleted it all because she don’t want nobody seeing how embarrassing it is while she calls herself unbothered but she’s very much bothered and you cant entertain people like that bc they fall further into it.

The Anatomy of Love will be deleted from Fanfiction.net

Hello, TAOL readers!

I am pleased to announce that I will be deleting The Anatomy of Love fanfic off of FFN! To clarify, I am deleting the fanfic ONLY off of that site. This means you will still be able to read on ArchiveofOurOwn.org (click here for the fic link) which was always the preferable option anyway. There are several reasons why I have decided to delete this fanfic from FFN.

1) There have been a few bad apples on AO3 spamming me with harassing comments (sadly, it’s not con crit). I had to reconfigure the comment settings there so that only “registered users” (readers with AO3 accounts) would be the only ones able to comment. This bars the trolls and haters from abusing their anonymity privilege to harass writers like me any further (or else they get BLOCKED if they continue to try). Unfortunately, this means a few of these rotten apples have hopped over to Fanfiction.net to harass me there now (FFN does not allow writers to disable Guests from reviewing).

One example of one of these trolls who have so much spite in their life that they waste their time and energy to chase and harass is none other than our pitiful Guest, SQUASHA! She whines that I delete her “”reviews”” because she acknowledges how bitchy and pointless they are. She also whines that the pacing between Kakashi and Sakura is slow and vexatious and complains that I say I am excited to write real sexual content for our lovebirds but that I always just tease it. Now, yes, I have since deleted that review from SQUASHA (again) because it is indeed bitchy, pointless, and serves only to complain (again) rather than constructively criticize. But also because I believe poor SQUASHA is very confused and possibly forgot that I explicitly mentioned in bold words at the very start of the fic that The Anatomy of Love is a slow-build longfic. It is also highly possible that readers like SQUASHA are completely new to fanfiction and do not understand what is a slowburn and what it consists of. So essentially, SQUASHA is complaining that this slowburn fic is being… well, exactly what it is and exactly what she knew from the start what it was (assuming she took the time to read my A/N at the very start of chapter 1). So with trolls like her running from AO3 to lurk on FFN now (actually, FFN has always been a cesspool for trolls due to lack of moderation), it’s one reason I am deleting this fic here.

2) Another reason I’m deleting this fic is because for some ridiculous reason, FFN has decided to screw over both readers and writers with the changes in their Email Opt-in system. From now on, readers and writers automatically are opted OUT of email notifications. In fact, you should take a look at your account settings right now because the change has already been made for you. FFN has changed it so that you have to manually opt IN to receive email notifications and then from now on you have to re-do that again every 6 months. Or else after 6 months it resets your settings to opt OUT of notifications. As someone who barely touches FFN and barely looks at my inbox, this isn’t very appealing for me.

3) FFN does not allow links or images. The Anatomy of Love is full of bonus content in which I like to link reference images for Sakura’s outfits, fanart that readers had made or commissioned, and deleted scenes that I link at the end. This is one reason why I have always encouraged readers to read this fic on AO3 instead so that they have access to all that bonus content. On FFN, I can’t do that. I have to jump through so many hurdles just to hint at where readers should go for the bonus content. It makes posting a chapter on FFN very tedious work for me.

4) I already barely touch FFN - and it’s a huge reason as to why I never reply to any of your guys’ Reviews (sorry about that, btw!). FFN was the first site I used to post fanfiction when I was a pre-pubescent teen. I’ve since graduated to AO3 years ago though and I find that site so much easier to navigate and curate my space. So deleting this fic from FFN is actually very beneficial for me in many ways.

So with all my reasons listed, I want to add that I will be deleting this fic from FFN at the end of December. That should give anyone here ample time to see this note and bounce over to AO3.

Again, I barely touch FFN so if you have any questions or concerns, you are more than welcome to hit me up on Tumblr or Twitter. It may take me a while to respond since I’m just not big on social media in general, but you will at least get a direct reply from me compared to on FFN.

i was actually talking to @eoieopda recently about how i feel bad sometimes about having jimin as my bias because i think hyung line always needs more credit than they get, and i don't want the assumption to be made about me that i don't love and appreciate EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE MEN. i'm not gonna get too deep into that conversation, but it basically came down to "you could write essays on jimin." and i CAN. and SO I SHALL!!!!!!

jimin is the love of my life. in this essay, i will- tell you why.

i'll start easy. surface-level. have you seen him dance? idk. idk idk idk, he just puts me into a fucking trance every time. that black swan solo in mots on:e brings a tear to thine eye. he is the swan, that song is one of his biggest fears. he's got "youth" and "young forever" tattooed on him. you can age out of dancing very quickly if you're not careful. I'M ALREADY DIGRESSING OKAY ANYWAY. he has not let his background in contemporary dance hold him back in any way when becoming an idol. in fact, he's made a point of making his background his strength. hip-hop, but make it ~pretty~.

*ahem* jimin has been defying gender stereotypes since day one. 🗣️ yes, he felt pressured to express his gender identity in a hypermasculine way because that’s how bts was presenting at the time. and he was trying SO hard. but even outside of that, he was always going against stupid ideas of gender. i always think of that moment in bon voyage 1 (i think?) when the members were saying that men don’t check their selfies. and jimin was like, “there you go again. what on earth is masculinity?”  i feel like we can attribute A LOT of bts’s transformation from the school trilogy to every era afterward to jimin’s presence in the group. he’s been there the whole time telling the members to challenge their views of what it means to be a man. they support each other, so when jimin wanted to express himself in a more authentic way, they encouraged him. they also learn from each other, so when they saw jimin leaning into that blend of the masculine and the feminine, they saw that they could do the same because it’s all fucking arbitrary. jimin still identifies as male. wearing the color pink and jewelry and makeup and openly showing affection don’t take away from that.

AND THAT’S WHY JIMIN’S VOICE IS SO FUCKING INTEGRAL TO THIS GROUP. oh my god dude. the range that he fucking has? and the majority of the time he chooses to sing in his upper register and falsetto? who the FUCK ELSE is doing that? not your fave, i’ll tell you that much.

jimin provides a level of comfort that i aspire to (and we should all aspire to). the members are all close and have individual relationships with each other, of COURSE. but jimin just seems to make each member feel uniquely special to him in their presence. i don’t know how else to word that. i truly think he is the glue that keeps bts together (not that i think they would disband without him or anything). but he's a libra (with a cancer rising). libras are mediators. libra prioritizes harmony, and cancer prioritizes comfort. and then his gemini moon, which prioritizes connection and communication. so i would imagine that the members just naturally gravitate to him for that kind of comfort and connection. AND THEN HE ENDLESSLY GIVES THAT SAME AMOUNT OF COMFORT TO MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ALL THE TIME LIKE HOW??????

I'm so sorry this took so long but HERE YOU GO, I did not forget about you! I have a few more sitting in my inbox as well, that I am still slowly chipping away at.

“You’re okay… You’re okay.”

His voice sounded so far away, but Vanessa knew he was right there with her. She could feel his hands on her face, cupping her cheeks ever so gently to try and keep her attention on him. Since she was freed from Glitchtrap’s hold, there were moments that Vanessa felt reality slipping away around her. She could still feel the cold presence of some foreign entity. They were phantom sensations, lingering impressions from how long she spent trapped. She found herself on antipsychotics in the aftermath, to curb the creeping hallucinations that often threatened to overtake her. 

--just as they were attempting to do now. 

“Vanessa.” T’aaku’s voice was firm, bordering desperate as he saw her emerald eyes start to roll back. “Vanessa!!” His voice raised as he grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her. “Stay with me-- Stay with me, alright!? I’m right here! Whatever you’re seeing is not real!” 

When that failed, the mechanic looked away. “Shane!” He called out, frantic, his heart pounding. “Shane!!” His canine companion always knew what to do. 

The white German Shepherd came bounding in, serious as he laid his reddish-brown eyes on Vanessa’s trembling form. Immediately, Shane jumped to work and hopped up to try knocking her down. Once T’aaku realized what the dog was trying to do, he helped lower Vanessa to sit on the floor. The large Shepherd settled in her lap, using his weight to press against her smaller body as he licked at her face. 

Vanessa blinked in surprise, ripped out of the purple haze in her mind. She was back in her home, with a very large dog in her lap that she wrapped her arms around and hugged tightly. Tears began to spill down her freckled cheeks, her whole body trembling from fright. She was breathing heavily, obviously terrified from the ordea. 

“Vanessa…” T’aaku’s voice was soft once more, reaching a hand out. He couldn’t help himself, throwing his arms around her in a tight embrace. Shane didn’t mind being stuck between them either, nuzzling against Vanessa to remind her that this was real. “Look at me…” T’aaku encouraged, when his lover kept her face buried in white fur. She feared opening her eyes, feared that this was just another vivid hallucination. 

--that she would wake to find herself trapped under his whim again, and this had all just been some elaborate dream Glitchtrap used to placate her. 

“Look at me.” T’aaku spoke again. 

This time, Vanessa complied, willing herself away from damp white fur to look up with teary eyes. He was real… And he was right in front of her, holding on to her. Shane still sat on her, keeping her safe and secure. 

Finally, Vanessa pulled an arm away and clung tighter to T’aaku, holding him as close as he could possibly be without crushing the dog between them. “You’re here…” She breathed out, shaky and still scared from the episode she just endured. 

“I am,” he promised, clinging back to her just as tightly. “And I’m not going anywhere. I promise.”
