Hunting for Clues (Dad Squad)
(@nancyheart11 @telemna-hyelle @smilesrobotlover @skyward-floored + @ whoever else wants to be tagged)
The air was uncomfortably thick as a heavy blanket of moisture clung to Rusl's skin. It felt like summer in Ordon Village, except he was in no place to be stripping off his shirt and going swimming to cool off.
Well, swimming might be involved. It depended on if there was a clear path to their destination.
They were following a lead he'd gotten from a nearby village. After the cucco incident, all it took was some conversations to figure out that a local cave had suddenly become more dangerous, that people were being harassed and attacked when they approached it. It didn't take much to ascertain, then, that if the Yiga had a holdout nearby, and a cave was being guarded, it was likely that the group would find Yiga there.
Abel led the group, tense with anticipation. Fierce was last, surveying the area and watching their flank. Rusl kept his eyes alert, wiping the sweat on his brow with his headband. His heart beat hard and fast, not so much from the exertion of climbing along the hill as they followed the river, but in the hope that they would find Link. It had been far too long since his capture, and though Rusl tried to stay focused on the objective rather than worry, the anxiety had steadily been growing.
It had been too familiar, having one of his boys kidnapped. He hated it. He'd been eager to push forward and find him. But when he'd realized he was in a completely different Hyrule, he'd recognized that he'd have to take a step back and figure this out. But now they had a lead, and now there was tangible hope that he could get to his boy, and now nothing was going to stop him from getting there.
They eventually reached the waterfall that supposedly hid the cave's entrance, and Rusl walked up to stand beside Abel.
"No guards," Abel noted quietly, his voice barely audible over the crashing water.
Worry wormed its way around Rusl's heart and mind. Abel was right, after all - the reason they had learned of this place at all was because people had been warded away with violence. The fact that no one had even tried to stop them was telling - either they were walking into a trap, or their lead was an old one.
"I have not noticed any scouts, either," Fierce added as he caught up with them easily. "This does not bode well."
Rusl drew his sword. "Then we should be ready for anything. Let's go."
The water was refreshingly cool on his skin as he passed through, bowing his head as the weight and pressure briefly beat down on him. He opened his eyes again quickly, blinking water away and surveying the area.
The cave was enormous, with moss and glowing mushrooms lining the stone path leading far beyond where he could see. He grabbed a lantern and quickly lit it, leading his companions into the darkness.
Bearing a torch and a sword while looking for lost children. This is too familiar. Rusl bit his tongue, shaking the thought away. He had to focus.
A particularly large water droplet fell from the ceiling, splashing on the top of his head and startling him back to reality. He gave a quiet huff, thanking the goddesses for the help focusing, and gripped his sword more tightly.
The farther they walked, the worse it felt. The waterfall drowned out any sound that could have tipped them off if there was someone nearby, and the very distinct lack of people made Rusl's skin crawl. The Yiga had already tried to ambush them once, and they were defeated fairly easily, but still... a place like this could make matters difficult if they were attacked.
There was a faint glow ahead, bluish in color. Rusl lowered his lantern slightly, squinting and looking for movement. He pulled the wick back a little, dimming the light so they wouldn't be as obvious as they approached. Though Fierce's steps were much louder than theirs, he still tried to creep along as quietly as Rusl and Abel did until the trio had reached a bend in the long cavernous pathway.
When Rusl peeked around, he saw litter and debris, and he immediately knew they were too late. The tension drained out of him with a heavy exhale, disappointment filling the void. His eyes were attracted upward, however, to trace the blue light to its source. It was a strange, frog-like creature clinging to the stony walls and hopping around easily. Rusl stared at it in wonder, reminded of the light spirits, and wondered if it was kin to them.
Abel swore softly, walking into the room, seemingly ignoring the creature altogether.
"Hello, little sprite," Fierce called to the animal. It turned, glancing at him, and continued to bounce around cheerfully.
"What is it?" Rusl asked, curiosity holding his anguish at bay.
"I am not entirely sure," Fierce answered, catching Rusl off guard. "I can sense its magic, though. It is not of the Yiga."
With that little knowledge, Rusl returned his attention to the large room the creature was illuminating. The room had a few barrels, a desk with some notes, but most of what was there had been removed. Abel was busy perusing a book of some sort that was on the desk.
Approaching, Rusl asked, "What did you find?"
"Notes," Abel answered simply, engrossed in his reading. Rusl didn't bother pushing the matter, waiting for him to finish.
The loud meow that emitted from one of the barrels distracted him well enough. All three men turned their gaze, though Abel resumed his reading quickly, and Fierce and Rusl walked to the nearest barrel.
Inside was a kitten, creamy white fur blending with patches of buttery brown. It meowed again as it looked up at the pair.
"What are you doing here, little guy?" Rusl asked as he cautiously reached in. The kitten didn't swat at him, allowing itself to be hauled gently out of the barrel where it had been trapped.
When Rusl turned to ask Abel if he had finished reading, he saw the knight staring at him with wide eyes and a furrowed brow, as if he'd just been given some sort of life altering news. Ice filled his veins, worry for Link immediately shutting out any other thought. "What's wrong?"
"The Hero of Time," Abel said. "That's... your son is the Hero of Time?"
Several thoughts clamored for attention all at once in Rusl's mind. The Hero of Time was a figure of legend, and he had been the one to train Link. Did.. did that mean Link inherited the title? He supposed that wasn't unreasonable. But that meant the Yiga had written about him in their log, and that meant he had to be alive still, because his title would not have been the first piece of information Abel had clung to if it were otherwise.
Hopefully.
Rusl walked to his companion in three large steps, the kitten bouncing in his arms, and he demanded, "What did they say about him?"
"T-they..." Abel glanced between Rusl and the kitten, temporary confusion flitting across his face at the sight of the animal before he continued, "They said he's---he's, ah, been fighting them off."
Rusl's dread vanished in an instant and was replaced with hope. "What? But..."
They hadn't captured him after all? Was he out here somewhere, lost and injured and alone, searching for Rusl as desperately as Rusl was looking for him?
"They escaped," Abel explained, holding the book close to his chest. "They escaped the main Yiga stronghold. They've been spreading their forces to find them."
The kitten was suddenly plucked out of Rusl's arms, held by the scruff of its neck by the fierce deity as he stared at it. "And this tiny furry creature was supposed to track him?"
Rusl's eyes stung unexpectedly with tears, and he let out a wet laugh, blinking them away. "I think maybe this little guy got lost."
"The kitten was supposed to be bait..." Abel added with a tone that was just as confused as Fierce's. "Apparently to lure the dog in."
Rusl whipped his head towards the knight. "Dog? What dog?"
Rusl immediately snatched the book before Abel could answer, courtesy abandoned, and the knight snarled, grabbing it back.
"This isn't time for your paranoia," Rusl snapped. "Whatever you're hiding, unless it has to do with my boy, I don't care. Let me read it."
Before either party could continue the argument, the book was taken out of Abel's tight grip with ease, making the knight yelp. The Fierce Deity flipped it in his hands, reading it aloud. "We have arrived at the designated site per our leader's orders. We're currently looking for a good way to lure the wretched heroes. The Hero of Time has been a constant thorn in our side in every encounter. He even took our bananas during the last fight."
Spirits above. Link's alive. He's alive and he escaped.
Of course he did. It was Link. His boy had fought Zant and Ganondorf, had been trained by the Hero of Time (the previous Hero of Time...? Did they all have that title, then?), had been forged into a strong warrior through the dark flames of twilight magic. Link could handle anything. Rusl shouldn't have worried.
Except he still did. Because he didn't know if Link was hurt. He didn't know where Link was, and the Yiga were hunting him.
What did these people want with him?! All Rusl knew of the Yiga was that Abel said they were traitors to the crown who wanted to see Hyrule fall. He said they were a cult of sorts, and they worshipped a demon, the same one that had destroyed Abel's Hyrule.
The deity turned the page with a thumb, carelessly tossing the kitten towards Rusl, who jumped, startled, and quickly caught the frightened little animal. He leaned it against his chest to soothe it as Abel grew steadily more wound up watching their companion.
"We've got a lead on their whereabouts," Fierce continued reading. "It appears the Hero's condition has improved somewhat, or at least enough that he is still alive. We have to ensure we catch him before he dies."
Rusl's breath was stolen from him. "What?!"
Fierce also stared worriedly at the pages, reading silently to gather more information quickly. It left Rusl in too much suspense, and he said, "Fierce, tell us what the hell is going on. Is my boy okay?"
"They're referring to three figures," Fierce answered as he read. "The Hero of Time, the Hero, and the dog. Sometimes they mention a mutt... I assume that must be the dog."
The uncertainty and anxiety were going to drive Rusl insane. "Just read it aloud. Please."
"Our camp was raided by the Hero of Time last night," Fierce obliged. "He took all our food and smashed all our bananas. One of our scouts spotted his dog but then we lost contact with him."
"We've made a discovery. The dog likes hanging around other animals. One of our scouts saw it playing with some kittens. We've since acquired one of the kittens and will be utilizing it to lure in the dog. If the mutt comes, then the Hero of Time will follow. Then all we have to do is find his base of operations to get the Hero."
"We've been in this cave for two weeks, and it's been almost a week since there's been any sign of our targets. The kitten ploy has not come to anything. Another group reported in that there are warriors looking the heroes. We will attempt to set up a trap for them. In the meantime, I've decided we need to move camp."
The longer Rusl listened, the more he realized that the Hero of Time was not, in fact, his Link. He could easily see his boy attacking the Yiga encampment, but he wouldn't simply raid it for supplies and leave. Link was too self reliant for that - he would gather his own supplies. He would only enter an enemy camp to eliminate it. His sweet boy was gentle in all ways but battle, after all.
Also, he knew, out of any group of boys, who would go running to the nearest pile of cuddly animals.
He knew exactly which one was his Link.
Which meant...
Rusl glanced over at Abel, really looked at him, and he saw the subtle signs in the man's stony demeanor. He saw the worry, the fear, the way the man's hands trembled.
"The injured one... that's your son, isn't it?" Rusl asked quietly.
Abel's expression darkened, a fierce, nearly feral glare crossing his face. His look dared Rusl to say anything else.
So this was the unspoken fear Abel had been carrying with him. This was the reason he didn't dare speak much about his boy. Had he thought they'd take advantage of his boy's vulnerable state? What else was Abel hiding?
"The Hero of Time is my child," Fierce said firmly, closing the book with a quick snap. "That is his title. And his tactics match. One of your children is missing."
Rusl bit his tongue as he smiled and choked back a snort. "Well... we'll find my boy. Let's start by finding yours."
"The Hero you've been protecting is the Hero of Time?" Abel confirmed.
"Yes," Fierce answered with a nod.
Abel let out a sigh of what seemed to be relief.
"What's wrong with your son?" Rusl asked gently.
The knight closed his eyes, his body stiffening. He didn't trust them. Rusl almost felt hurt, but then again... he had just withheld vital information about his Link as well.
But why wouldn't he? Telling them his boy could turn into a beast was a recipe for disaster.
Then again, them not knowing was equally bad. He knew that from experience. They'd already had to battle one pack of wolves and he'd nearly had a meltdown. He had had a meltdown.
What secret was Abel keeping to protect his boy?
Rusl's train of thought was interrupted when the strange blue bouncing creature hopped over, hovering directly over Abel. Seeing as the man wasn't reacting, Rusl hesitantly pointed to it. "You... can see that thing, right?"
Distracted, Abel glanced upward. Then he huffed. "It's a bubbulfrog."
"A what?"
"Bubbulfrog," Abel repeated, glancing at the pair. "Legend says if you strike one down you can obtain a mystical stone from it."
"You don't seem very fazed by this," Rusl noted.
"Link and I have found plenty in different caves when he was little," Abel sighed. He raised an eyebrow as he looked up. "I'm surprised this one isn't blowing bubbles at us, though."
"They do that?"
"Often. Link loved popping them. But we... never got this close," Abel went on uncertainly. "I wasn't sure how dangerous they were. They usually stay away from people."
"It won't harm you," Fierce said.
"Either way," Abel continued with a dismissive wave. "They don't hang around people. If there's one here it means the Yiga left long ago."
The kitten meowed again, pawing at Rusl's tunic. The Ordonian smiled down at it before looking back at Abel, whose gaze had grown distant. Meanwhile, Fierce turned, motioning towards them. "We should move on. It is clear the boys are not here and have not been in the area for some time."
Nodding, the two men followed him out of the cave. Rusl ran a hand gently over the kitten, which purred in response, relaxing him a little. They really needed to get to the bottom of all of this. Abel needed to open up and tell them more about the Yiga. And maybe... maybe Rusl should tell them about Link's transformative abilities before something terrible truly did happen.
Rusl sighed, looking around as the humidity came back in full force upon exiting the cave. This was... a mess. But at leas the knew Link was alive, and that was all that mattered.

Hi um uh I like your hcs a lot they're really cute-- Could I request Eli Sunday x non-woman faithful reader hcs where he feels bad for being in love with them but they teach him it's okay and to get through his internalized issues,,, Maybe a bit of angst at first that turns into fluff,,, ? Sorry if that's too specific I just really like Eli
Character: Eli Sunday!
Tumblr media
A/N: Never be sorry for being specific! Thank you for the request + compliment! Specific in your ask helps me know what to write!
Prompt: Eli Sunday being troubled and confiding his S/O for comfort + angst into fluff!
Eli Sunday had known you for around a year. The two of you met in the warm summer month of June. And as over purpose as it was, he saw you and fell almost immediately.
Something about you that just.. lured him closer.
But with every passing day that he drew closer to you, the guilt anchored itself within his soul. The more love that grew for you, the more the weight weighed heavy on his shoulders.
You and him talked quite often, you even considered him a friend! Unbeknownst to him, you reciprocated his feelings. Minus the guilt.
A lot of the time you find yourself outside of the church, not knowing whether to go in or to stay out.
But on one of the coldest nights of the years, you heard a quiet, gentle tapping at your door. You push yourself from your chair, walking towards the entrance of your tiny house.
Once the door opens, there stands a paler than usual Eli.
His teeth are chattering, and he's rubbing his arms vigorously trying to muster up some type of warmth. His look almost blue, it's obvious he's been out for a while. California never got cold, but when it did, it was bad.
He was extremely dirty, mud and what looks like oil covered him.
"I'm sorry to ask this of you, but may I enter? I.. got into a feud with Abel, and I can't stand being at the farm right now.. the church has no warmth, for we have no money for a fireplace." Eli says.
You invite him inside, shutting the door quickly once he enters.
"Well Eli, you came with the perfect time. I had a bathroom for myself, but it seems as if you need it more than I do. It's warm water, I hope you don't mind." You say, gesturing to the separate room.
He looks at you, stunned. You were offering him your bath? How kind and sweet of you. He practically felt his heart swell in his chest.
"Thank you." He says, swallowing the lump in his throat. You give him a quick nod, but something stops you from turning away.
You back a little ways farther from him, looking him up and down. How long had he been dirty for?
You felt extremely bad for him, he didn't deserve the type of treatment he got.
"if you would Eli, I could take your clothes and wash them for you tomorrow. I don't have any room to do so tonight, but I would be happy to oblige tomorrow. I have spares." You say, smiling at him.
This is what Eli liked about you, you were generous. Practically an angel wrapped up in a bow.
Eli nods.
"Oh, and if you need any help, I will be happy to do so. I don't mind one bit."
That set Eli's face from pale white, to burning red.
"I think a little help would be nice, yes." He says.
This one against everything he believed in, but resisting temptation was hard on a night like this. Eli was sure that God was to forgive him.
Eli enters the other room, he's on undresses and steps into the tin tub. It's taller, and his chest barely peaks out over the edge.
Eli soaks in the warm water for a minute, sighing out into the air.
"You can come in." He says.
And as soon as he called, you enter the room. Carried a tin bucket, that had a sponge, soap and cold water.
You smile at him as you sit on the stool next to the bath. You changed clothes, not wanting to get your old ones wet.
You soak the sponge in the soapy water, dabbing gently at his face.
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Eli sighs, getting closer to the edge of the tub. You nod in agreement.
During the next 10 minutes, Eli did nothing but think. The sponge would travel up and down his arms, across his chest. Your hands would weave in his hair with a soapy water, then you would pour a stream of warm water onto his hair.
You noticed something, tears were traveling down his face. "Eli, is.. something wrong?"
He bites the inside of his cheek, nodding a quick yes.
"Tell me.. I'm not one to judge." You say, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Eli looks barren. A force is pushing something throughout the inside of him, and his face twists from cardinal bliss to reactive shame.
"I'm guilty, I feel nothing but guilt weigh on my back. I harbor.. romantic feelings for you. I shouldn't speak on this, it's a sin, isn't it? I'm wrong, God will surely send me to hell. I.. I lack the knowledge of your situation, it's unfaithful." Eli says, half-way choking on his words.
Your face softens. Putting two and two together, you realize. This was Eli that no one saw. Everyone saw the strong, head fast, theatrical Eli. The God loving Eli. The all forgiving Eli.
No one saw him at his weak points, not even his family. He made a point to hide it away, being weak and tender turned to shame in his mind.
This was the Eli that Eli hated.
"But in my path and quest to find God, in meeting you, I fell in love. I never thought it was possible, but it happened. You deserve happiness, which I'm afraid is something I will not be able to give you." He says. Eli's voice breaks through his words, it hurts to listen to him.
You dismiss the sponge, letting it float of the dirty, lukewarm water. You cup his face with your hand, looking down at him.
Only Eli wanted you to see him like this, you are the only person he trusted to. He was drug through the mud today, humiliated. Whenever Eli stood for himself, something caused him to collapse.
But having you there made it better.
"Your loving touch, an embrace I will never feel until the warm summer months grace my skin." Eli says, looking up at you with eyes that almost put you in a trance.
His arm reaches up and out of the water, hands grabbing onto your forearm and wrist.
"Oh Eli.. let's get you clean, okay? I do love you, I've loved you for longer than you could ever know. It was practically when I first laid my eyes upon you when I entered the church. I was just wondering when you would come around, if you were ever to do so." You say, now stroking his face with your thumb.
The water turned colder, and Eli got cleaner. Soon enough, an hour had passed and Eli had been scrubbed clean of mud and dirt.
You left him alone in the washroom too change into new clothes.
Soon enough he exited said room, now and dry clean clothes. You laid on your bed, sleeping on your side. Eli walked over, eyes still puffy, and sat on the edge of the mattress.
"Come closer Eli, lay down.. you have no place to go for the night." You say, inviting him into your arms.
Red alarms blared throughout Eli's head, but he ignored them as he crawled across the bed, nearing you with every action. And soon enough he was there, slotting himself into your arms comfortably.
He would explain to God later.
"There's nothing wrong with loving another Eli.. I love you too, more than I could ever explain with words.. it's okay. You internalize your issues, too afraid to speak out on them. It isn't healthy, please, talk to me when you like this." You say.
You fully wrap your arms around him, he buries his head into your chest.
Eli knows you're right. His hands snake over your waist, locking themself in place comfortably.
"The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." you recite. Eli breathes out slowly. All was forgiven.
"The Lord is forgiving." Eli says into your chest, eyes now shutting comfortably.
The fireplace crackles across the room, keeping the room at a comfortable temperature. All that can be heard is yours and Eli's joined breathing, at peace once again.

SCP Scenarios: When they accidentally kill you
Requested by: okokok121 + @RitaRoseFromBBB
Main Masterlist | SCP Scenarios Masterlist | My Works Masterlist | Rules | Request | Socials | My Original Post
(Ok, I know you did ask for the doctors + Mikell and Strelnikov, but I've decided to add the SCPs in here if that's alright with you. And also, sorry if I didn't capture Strelnikov's attitude well as I'm not as familiar with him compared to Mikell, yet again I'm not familiar with Jack Bright's family other than TJ and 321)
Sorry if it wasn't up to your standards. I just felt that some of these characters weren't the type to kill the reader, even if it wasn't intentional.
WARNING: Slight Angst
Dr Simon Glass
Simon wouldn't be the one to accidentally kill you himself, but it's more of the situation he put you in without realising the full extent of the consequences. He was just busy writing his patients' reports, and you just strolled in his office to check upon him. Simon stopped what he was doing and smiled with you as you both ate your food in his ever so clean office. As you were about to leave, Glass requested you to deliver something to Jack Bright in which you did. You and Jack were close friends (not so surprising since you're both equally as mad as each other) so if Simon wanted to know where he is or if he needed to give him something, he would go to you first. You managed to deliver the parcel to Bright in 682's containment cell and you both laughed before you returned. Unfortunately, 682 was having a rough day due to being a subject to Bright's test (I would be too tbh) which caused him to become more aggressive than usual and attacked 3 researchers. One of them being you as 682 dragged you down to the acid bath with him and Jack rushed to save you. Bright wasn't able to and he had to fulfil;l his duty to tell Simon Glass that you passed as 682 had killed you during a test. Needless to say, Glass was forced to take time off with Bright due to this event and he became more distant for months to come. Bright had to keep it together just so Simon wouldn't have to lose the shred of sanity he had in him.
Dr Jack Bright
You and Bright were doing some tests on one of the more dangerous SCPs (no, it's not that giant mf lizard of that warrior killing machine) in which your job was to handle these creatures while Jack was doing all the lab stuff. The SCP you both were conducting your research on was ●●|●●●●●|●●|● (SCP 2521 - We're getting ripped tonight, RIP my friends) and you were doing all sorts of things which resulted in you summoning this creature out of the blue by accident. Bright had to drag you out away from the creature and you just stood there observing its behaviour until it noticed you. Jack Bright had to take you on the run yet again (cuz you do be stoopid and stubborn so all yall wanna do is stare at something that's gonna kill ya. JUST RUN BIATCH!!!) but the SCP managed to catch up with you both and snatched you before Bright could even get help. Jack was astonished and deeply depressed since the incident and was left increasingly agitated after every walking day and even Glass couldn't get him out of his shell. He would pretend that everything's fine, but deep down, everyone knows that he's not (that's a whole ass mood right there buddy). Bright was extremely guilty for making you research 2521 and tried to summon it again, but all other scientists stopped it.
Dr Alto Clef
Clef was just doing his job, managing all the Keter class SCPs with ease and without hesitation. You know this from first-hand experience on your very first day on the job 3 years ago and Clef took an interest in you so he took you under his wing. So on this mission, he's on, he wanted to take you with him so you went along (not like you'd say no to this madman anyways right?). It was a breach on one of the sites with a sh- ton of Keter class SCPs and your jobs were to exterminate/neutralise them and save all the other researchers in which your team did do well and were still alive. You on the other hand were killed in action by SCP 939 (NOW WHICH ONE OF YOU IDIOTS RELEASED MY PETS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?!). Clef wasn't able to save you on time, but he managed to kill 2 of those SCPs. When he got back, he hid in his office and was depressed for 23.3 weeks and when he managed to drag himself out, he was bawling his eyes out. He deeply regretted taking you on a mission with him and swore an oath that if he were to ever take another person under his wing (probs in like 50 years), he would do anything in his power to not take them on a life-threatening mission.
Dr Benjamin Kondraki
You were out with Kondraki, just laying on the grass like you normally do as you just watched Kondraki take photographs of various and random stuff. Not long later, you asked him if he could teach you how to become such an avid photographer like him, so he did. However, little did you and Kondraki know that his butterfly friends felt danger lurking around the area you were in and quickly transformed into a threatening SCP to defend you both. Lurking around the woods were uncontained 939s running loose on the ground in which the booterflies attacked it. One of the red lizards was ready to pounce onto Kondraki to which you ran and pushed him out of the way (BAD DOGGO ))),:<). Luckily he was unharmed, but you, on the other hand, was heavily injured so Kondraki rushed you back to the foundation's medic. You died there shortly after and Kondraki blamed himself for getting you hurt on a harmless visit to the woods for some photographs. Bright and Clef begged Glass to do some psychological evaluation on Kondraki despite him telling them that he needs some time alone before he could do such things.
O5 Council Mikell Bright
When you're with Mikell, he would be his true self, being honest and relaxed since you're his most trusted partner. Moreover, he would tell you everything about what the O5 Council has been doing and their top secrets and you would always keep your lips sealed. The other members are wary of this at first but soon warm up to you since you're one of the most trusted individuals. Being with the cowboy is quite entertaining and you'll be quite protected being with him, so most of the time, you get free reign over the foundation, however, you still had to obey the rules as you weren't exactly a member of the O5 council and that would also help you from making people think you're sus for being treated so differently. That day was one of the days where your freedom got the better of you as you were on a mission with Mikell and he was about to aim at the target until you pushed him out of the way from danger. He quickly gained his composure and tried to shoot the anomaly behind you which he missed and shot you instead. Mikell was in shock and tried to get the medics, but by the time they arrived, you've already passed. Jack had to check up on his brother regularly to see how he's doing and to make sure he doesn't fall off the edge, reminding him that you wouldn't want to see him this way.
Agent Dmitri Arkadeyevich Strelnikov
As an agent, Strelnikov's life and his closest friends and relatives would be on the line. He wouldn't know when, where or how he would die and is in constant fear of losing everyone around him, especially you. One time, he took you on a mission with him since you were trained under him and he felt that you were ready to go onto your first-ever mission (well too bad, it's your last mission since y'all just suck at your jobs and this poor man has to drag you up from hell and y'all just fall back in) and so you guys went and attempted to gain information and track down some SCPs. Dmitri had to save you a few times since you didn't heed his advice and looked behind your back and that one time he left you on your own, you were murdered by a ruthless group from one of the GOIs. This, of course, deeply saddened agent Strelnikov as he was washed away by the guilt he had from leaving you to stand by your own 2 feet. You were a bright and gentle person who always looked up to him, always eager to learn and never want to fail him. These traits are what drew you to him and he was hoping to have you on his team permanently, however, that dream was long gone (just like your non-existent brain cells trying to keep your life together so y'all don't do stupid things) as you were snatched away from him in an instant. He wrote the report once he went back to the foundation and locked himself up for so long the doctors had to get him out (like your guardians whenever you don't wake up in the mornings).
Extras:
SCP 073 (Cain)
You and Cain were strolling around site 17 until a containment breach happened. Cain had to drag you by your arm since you froze (like a deer in headlights XD) and didn't react to anything since you were afraid. Luckily you did manage to get your senses back together and ran with him. Not long later, a Keter class SCP came charging at you and in a panic, Cain pushed you aside without a glance which caused another SCP to kill you since you were blocking the way. He looked over to you to see that you were wounded, lifted you up, and found a medic. Cain blamed himself for not looking carefully and had he done that, you wouldn't be dying. By the time the medic and you both arrived, you were already at the brink of death and when 343 finally arrived, you were long gone. 343 had to calm 073 down from trying to seek revenge once again but he can't due to the overwhelming guilt he had on him. 343 managed to ease his mind a bit which caused him to blackout. The researchers had to put him under their watchlist to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid (like you when you're studying for your important exams).
SCP 076 (Abel)
It was a normal day for you and Abel to hang around until this one mf guard angered Abel to which caused a containment breach. He went on a rampage (you do be here like Hercules! Hercules! XD) in which you had to try and calm him down. By the time you went to the main part of the facility, you saw many of the D-classes and researchers beheaded (like the previous queens in- never mind). When you had found Abel attempting to slaughter a guy, you jumped in front of the victim and by the time Abel realised that you were there, his sword cut you open in half (KO! 10 points to Gryffindor). He was overwhelmed with guilt and anxiety about him killing you by accident and returned to his box as demanded by the MTF members. The scientists noticed a change in Abel's behaviour and never questioned it. Those who knew what had happened never mentioned it in fear of another breach and left him be.
SCP 999 (Tickle Monster)
It was an ideal Saturday night at the foundation. You and our adorable 999 was wandering around the facility minding your own business until some madman came charging into the foundation. The alarm for the breach went on and everyone was confused since there weren't any dangerous SCPs on the loose. As it turns out, it was an intruder from one of the other GOIs trying to kidnap some of the SCPs. You and 999 just so happened to be in the exact same spot as the intruder and was holding a weapon of some sort. Realising what's happening, 999 pushed you out of the way just as the intruder fired her weapon which missed you both. One of the agents caught up with both of you and tried to shoot the intruder but ended up shooting you just as you got up which killed you. 999 never greeted any visitors in his cell ever again for quite some time and the researchers attempted to bribe him but failed.
SCP 682 (Hard to Destroy Reptile)
You were requested to take part in a test with 682 and another Keter class SCP in a test room and your job was to make sure 682 weren't allowed to lash out at the researchers because of this test. However, this certain Keter class SCP has decided that it wants to attack you in which 682 shoved you aside to protect you. The researchers ran in to save you but the other SCP managed to pounce on you and suffocated you to the brink of death. 682 was about to take a chonki bite out of that SCP but instead, he bit you instead, killing you instantly. He regretted every decision he has ever made and never attacked the foundation staff for months.
SCP 049 (Plague Doctor)
This doctor was just minding his own business until some dumbass researchers rushed into his room like some fanboys trying to get their noona's signatures. 049 was entertained by this remark but was soon agitated as they disturbed his work and wouldn't leave him alone. So, 049 used his lethal touch on some of the researchers as the rest ran. Luckily, they ran into you, so you managed to calm down the angri bird doctor. Unfortunately, that didn't go as planned as he had mistaken you as one of the other fanboys and stabbed you right into your heart. As soon as he had realised what he's done, he rushed you into his cell and performed surgery on you. Mid-surgery, he soon realised that you were losing too much blood and died right then and there. He mourned for quite some time as the other researchers were severely punished as it had led to your death which could've been avoided.
SCP 035 (Possessive Mask)
Like the other SCPs mentioned in the list, there was a test that resulted in your death. 035 was instructed to change to another human as the black goo was secreted from the mask and so he obeyed as you were slouching by the corner of the test room. Except for this time, it is being worn by a taller and more muscular man who was a wanted man due to his former job as a mercenary. As the researchers watched intently, the mask soon felt slightly overpowered but was resolved quickly due to his evergrowing abilities and experience in possessing those who come near it or is wearing the mask. The mask spoke of the discomfort of being overpowered to which the researchers took note of this statement and watched. You were somewhat concerned to you went closer to your beloved partner to check up on him. However, upon coming closer to 035, he switched his usual persona to the man wearing it, becoming more aggressive and unable to control this body, killing the first person he sees, which was you. This stunned the researchers as the guards tried to pry him off you. When they managed to get him off, you were no longer breathing. In the next interview with 035, he displayed extreme guilt and sadness of his inability to possess the man well enough to control him fully and made a request for him to be left alone for a while.
SCP 096 (Shy Guy)
You both met up during the breach a few steps away from 096's cell. He was wandering around to find you while covering his elongated face. All the other researchers were outside trying their best to stay calm and deal with this massive breach until they just saw 096 walking about looking for someone. It instantly clicked in their mind and offered to look for you as long as he goes back to his cell afterwards to which he agreed. Upon finding you, another SCP was attempting to attack you but was soon neutralised by the other MTFs. 096 managed to push you away beforehand but his throw was so strong that you died on the impact when you fell to the ground (you really did get yeeted lmao). As 096 and the others ran towards you to make sure you were ok, you had stopped breathing and 096 screamed in sadness which flooded the whole field. As he was contained back to his cell, they noticed a small detail about 096 which was him wailing every now and again about your death.
SCP 105 (Iris)
You and Iris were just strolling down site 17 to meet with Cain and Dr James Dantensen. Once you've arrived at the agreed location within site 17, you guys were just catching up with old times and sharing your memories and stories about your everyday lives. However, this jolly moment only lasted for so long as someone had breached the containment to target you as you were close to a lot of the SCPs, especially the humanoid ones. As you, along with the others, ran to safety, the enemy caught up with you and threatened you for your knowledge of the SCPs. Iris finally caught up with you just in time to see the commotion and shoved you out of the way. Cain managed to shield you from another guy who attempted to shoot you in which Iris retaliates by throwing a knife back, but instead, injured you instead. She ran over and screamed as you slowly blacked out. Cain had to carry you over as Dantensen was calling the medics and you barely managed to survive. During your days in the hospital, the suspect managed to suffocate you which alarmed everyone. During the days that followed, Iris had been seeking out revenge as Cain tried to make her stay calm and think more rationally.
SCP 106 (Old Man)
It was another day spending some time in 106's pocket dimension as you relaxed with him. You both talked about your past experiences and the obstacles you both had overcome. Once you both were done relaxing (aka never you lazy catto so get up and do something useful for once cuz I don't wanna see yall get screamed at by your family and non-existent friends (jk jk i hope they're treating you well)), 106 took you back to his containment cell and just sat there as the researchers looked at you both blankly. 096 caused a containment breach which, of course, freed you both from 106's cell and you made a run for it (RUN FOREST RUN!). As you and 096 came into contact, 106 tried to put himself between the both of you, knowing what 096 was capable of. Unfortunately, this resulted in 106 being attacked and you died from looking at his face (wear a damn mask 096, you're in the middle of a pandemic). Saddened by the news, 106 seek revenge but was briefly neutralised and shipped to another facility so it wouldn't cause another breach due to his rage.

Cliffhanger Ending
S8M30. Jody struggles even harder to do the right thing.
(This is HOT off the presses so apologies for tense mistakes. I hope you enjoy!)
“Look at that sunset. It's peeking through the clouds. Gorgeous. Are you going to shoot me?”
The bowstring was taut in Jody’s grip. Now, with the waves of adrenaline easing, she began to notice the ache in her arms, her legs, her chest. She wanted to scream. She felt Five’s hand brush her arm lightly. Permission? Absolution in advance? They turned away, and took a few paces across the grass, fiddling with their headset, trying to get Sam to come in.
“I should. You deserve it.” Her words were clipped. All she could see were his empty eyes, his skin made unnatural with death, like wax. How the corners of his mouth no longer turned up when she ran her fingers through his hair. She’d crouched there so long, his blood coagulated around her feet.
Shona turned, and pointed at her chest: a heart for a heart. “Go on, then. Go on! Go on! It was mine! Do you understand? I was going to be powerful... I was going to see my mum. It promised me!”
We have your mother, Jody. She wants to call you… she wants to call you down for tea.
Fucking Ian. She’d never have believed it, never have turned, but still… even now, those lies spun in her head on sleepless nights, rose again when the tendrils of the Red God appeared. Questions, doubts. Was it possible? She hadn’t had the time in the last three years to find out, or maybe she’d just been too afraid of knowing.
But had she been younger. Had she been isolated on an island, cut off from the wider world, surrounded by people who just could not understand, would she have answered the call?
“We don’t kill the powerless at Abel,” she said, dropping her bow, stepping forward. “Ellie wouldn’t have wanted that. Tom… You’re under arrest. You’ll get a trial on the mainland-“
“You won’t take me away from here!” Shona shrieked, and edged backwards, teetered. “I am one with the land, I am special, it chose me, it chose me.”
She fell. Almost. Jody dove, grabbed at her fleece which was sopping wet with silver and slippery, her fingers struggling to make purchase.
“Give me your hand, Shona,” Jody commanded, her voice strained with effort. “Five! Help pull her up, I’m slipping!”
“No,” the girl said, almost sulky. “Let me go.”
“I’m not letting you get away that easily,” Jody panted, grateful for Five’s sudden weight on her legs. “Hand. Now.”
Unexpectedly, Shona did as she was told, then turned her head and bit down on Jody’s hand, hard enough to break the skin.
“You little bitch!” She felt, rather than heard, the words escape in a sudden agonised breath, but forced her grip not to loosen, her eyes to stay wide open.
Shona opened her jaw to laugh, her teeth wet with blood. “You know they’ll only shoot me on the mainland, aye? That Prime Minister of yours will make a show of me for ruining her ship. Or you’ll lock me up and throw away the key, leave me in the dark and cold. You all did that to precious mad Tom, and I’m not precious to you.”
“Take his name out of your mouth,” Jody said evenly. She felt perfectly still. The ocean water beneath them drew back. The sun had almost set.
“Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom! God, stupid interfering Tom. Thought I was so weak, so helpless that he walked right into the lion’s den. You know, Jody, he might not be the first person I killed, but he was the first time I really enjoyed it.”
If you hurt enough people, something inside you breaks. And I worry, sweetheart, because you care so deeply about everything, and everyone, that one day it will happen to you. You’ll take revenge and it will help, for a little while. And the next time it’s easier to pull the trigger. To draw the knife. And suddenly there’s so much blood on your hands that you don’t remember where it came from, or whether they even deserved it. So please, will you promise me…
She pulled hard. Shona cried out as her arm popped out of its socket, but then they were both lying there, on top of the cliff, breathing heavily. Five had their arm around Shona’s neck before Jody could blink, their gaze quizzical. She shook her head.
“If you let me live, Jody Marsh, if you take me from my island, that’s a fate worse than death for me. And I’ll never forgive it. I’ll leave you alive, I’ll return the favour. But here’s the thing with hurting people; it only gets sweeter every time you do it. The Red God will rise again, and I will fill the valleys with the blood of your loved ones. I will-”
“Knock her out, Five,” Jody ordered. They complied with one expert blow to the back of the head, and began rummaging through their pack for some rope to tie her hands. She thought she heard them sniff, a tell-tale sign of them crying and trying to hide it. It had been a long time since they were roommates, since life had been so simple, so black-and-white.
“Jodes, I just heard from Sam. He’s okay. He’s going to be okay. I thought…”
She managed a smile. “Go find him. I’ll be fine, I just… I just need a minute, okay?”
The sun had fully gone, now, and the light was fading. The cliffs at Mor were beautiful, jagged, dark. Tom would have liked this. He would have leant his head on her shoulder, and started telling stories about the rising stars. Princess Andromeda, chained to her rock. Pegasus, riding through the sky. Sagittarius the archer. Children’s tales. They’d made up their own increasingly ridiculous backstories for the ones he had forgotten. Janine on a bad hair day. A zombie with a foot stuck in a bucket.
She didn’t really believe he was up there, too, but she waited until each star blinked into view, just in case one of them was new.

Hange x f!Reader Oneshot
Tumblr media
Summary: Squad leader Hange is a very busy scientist, so having Moblit and Y/N on their team is a great benefit to their work; so much so that Y/N finishes Hange’s work so that they get time off! Little do they know that the socially awkward Y/N has a passion for astrology, so one night she works up the courage to take Hange star gazing!
Genre: Fluff, Smut 18+
Warnings: spanking, cunnilingus, fingering, swearing, 69-ing, this oneshot is GOOFY af
Universe: canonverse
Word count: 3.9k
A/N: This oneshot is based on the song Space Girl by Frances Forever, I love this wlw song so much I just had to. In this one shot Hange’s pronouns are she/they but I mostly use they/them pronouns! Although in the song the singer refers to her space girl as a ‘cancer’ (astrological sign) I have left the reader’s sign ambiguous so you can insert yourself in! Also I don’t know how advanced the canonverse is with astrology, especially with astrological stories behind the constellations but we won’t focus on that its just a cute (probably inaccurate) oneshot. AFAB!Hange. I am so sorry it’s so long for a oneshot!! I just love them so much 🥺
Tumblr media
When squad leader Hange Zoe is in the zone, they will work throughout the day and throughout night with no breaks and no signs of stopping; unless they quite literally pass out. If ever they got in that position of dropping at any moment, you and Moblit would be there to either complete the work or to catch Hange before they fall. You had always admired Hange’s determination and stamina, that alongside their eccentric personality, had you weak at the knees.
If you were honest with yourself, you had quite fallen head over heels for Hange the moment you saw them, their smile felt like a kick in the heart and a thousand butterflies in your stomach. It wasn’t until you helped Levi bathe Hange did you realise your feelings towards them, desperately looking away from their body with great embarrassment. Levi always rolled his eyes at your actions, but he’d usually have a faint smirk on his face as you try and wash them whilst attempting to keep your eyes closed. You and Levi were quite close, despite his quiet (and rather passive aggressive demeanour), a friendship with him was meaningful and he definitely cared more than he’d let on. He, alongside Moblit were the only ones that knew of your passions with astrology and space; he’d always say something like “it’s quite fitting, you’re head is either in the clouds or up Hange’s ass”. The funny little bastard.
Your captain would tease you regularly, especially when he noticed your longing stares; whether it be out on expeditions or back at HQ. He’d reach for your head and shake it, waking you up from your day dream. “Your obsessive pining will get you killed, scout” and “Keep it together space girl” were a regular thing Levi would say. You couldn’t help it, Hange was your moon and all the stars in the sky, all things you’d happily gaze at forever.
As mentioned, the bathing sessions were a great opportunity to get advice (and teased) from Levi. One bathing session he told you that he’s pissed off that you hadn’t revealed your feelings yet. How could you? Hange probably didn’t feel the same way, and neither did they have time for it! Changing the subject slightly, you would say “Poor Hange, always working so hard!”
Its true, Levi would usually have to knock them out to bathe them because they worked so much; you suppose the only ick that bothered you about Hange was their lack of hygiene - they just can’t help it. All of that energy dedicated to work, they rarely had any spare time to do anything else; but you were determined to make today different.
You heard of a meteor shower that was expected around 11pm that night, a spectacle you were adamant not to miss. You decided that if any time was the perfect moment to reveal yourself to Hange, tonight is the night. You day dreamed the whole day, picturing the two of you under the stars. Between paperwork, you would check regularly and calculate the time and position of the moon whilst the meteor shower happened; it had to be perfect.
“A waxing crescent” You whispered to yourself
“A what what?” Hange fluttered over to your table making you jump, you attempted to hide the paperwork of calculations; absolutely nothing must be revealed otherwise the surprise will be ruined.
“Squad leader H-H-Hange! I uhhh nothing!!” You stuttered, looking to their perfect, smiling face. You wanted to both die and dance at the same time, to grab them by their collar and kiss them passionately. Hange leans on your desk, looking at you with a cheeky grin.
“I do hope you’re doing your work scout! You don’t want to be working for 2 days straight like last time!”
“That won’t be the case tonight Hange!”
“Oh?”
“I recon if I work solidly for the next 2 hours I will be completely finished!”
“Really? Ugh I technically have like 4 hours left of paperwork too do, I don’t really even have time to scold you on how obviously distracted you are Y/N” Hange sighed, lifting their goggles up to pinch the bridge of their nose. Your eyes light up, seeing their face without goggles was just...
“Well if you give me part of your work, we will be both finished in 3 hours. Anything else that needs doing I will do!” You offered, Hange darts their eyes at you, an excited expression on their face. Without any warning they grab your hands into theirs and puts their face mere inches away from yours. Your face heats up, staring at their lips, you hold everything back from just leaning in to kiss them.
“You’d do that?? For me?? Well aren’t I lucky to have such a kind assistant!!!” Hange exclaimed
“If you both give me some of your work, I am happy to complete whatever’s left” you hear Moblit say across the table. Your eyes turn to him as he gives you a knowing wink. Gods bless Moblit. “That way you two get to leave early tonight, I hear there is some kind of astrological event on tonight”
Your face dropped, as much as Moblit was helping you, he must have looked at your notes as he walked past; nosy dickhead. Hange placed a hand under their chin and thought for a moment, before they had the chance to say anything about it (worrying they’d say its stupid or something) You stood up in your seat.
“Squad leader Hange! We can watch it tonight together if you’d like!!!” You blurted out, sounding more authoritative than you’d wanted. Hange’s eyes widen and observe your shaking body.
“But what about work?? I am sure after this paperwork needs doing they’ll be-”
“I’ll do it! Even if it means I work into the morning. It’s something that Y/N is passionate about so please!! I can always get Nifa or Abel or both to help me out!” You could hear the panic in Moblit’s voice. You take what you thought about him being a dickhead back, he’s doing you such a favour. The both of you look at each other and then back to Hange, trying to gage what their response will be.
A roar of laughter fills the room, followed by a long sigh. “As long as you are sure Moblit, that is real sweet” Hange turns to you and grabs your hand again. “Tonight’s a date then, what time and where?”
‘A DATE???’ You panic to yourself, did they really call this a date. You scream in your mind, wanting to just faint there and then. You collect your emotions and take your hand away from theirs, coughing into a fist. “10:15, walk south from the back entrance of HQ and head towards some bushes and the oak tree. I will meet you there” You said, you wanted to be far enough from HQ so you wouldn’t be disturbed.
“Sounds perfect! Now, lets get some work done!” Hange exclaims, sitting back at their desk and scribbling even faster than before.
The three of you continued to work, you were the first to finish and left the office to get changed into your casual gear. You pull out some perfume that you saved months up for from the market, it was a beautiful scent that you only used on special occasions. You looked in the mirror and hyped yourself up, “come on Y/N you are a lover and a fighter. Titan killer in the streets, pussy killer in the sheets” You slap yourself for saying something so embarrassing out loud.
Once dressed, you head out to the spot with blankets, pillows and a couple of lanterns; if you were to be there a while, you wanted to be comfortable. Once everything is laid out, all you had to do was wait. You felt the nerves building up, as time passed and drew near to Hange’s arrival, you had looked at all of your notes over and over. You lined star charts up and spotted all sorts of constellations to point out to Hange when they were there, you looked at the notes with all the stories behind the constellations and tried to identity any planets that were visible. You kicked yourself, wishing you’d be able to afford a telescope; apparently Saturn is aligned with Mars and that would have been an incredible sight to see.
You hear a noise behind you, oh lord here they come! You scramble at your notes, looking at the more complicated details and stuffing them into your bag.
“Y/N I could do with a little bit of help!!!” You hear Hange yell out, clear struggle in their voice. You stand up to see them behind the bush holding a very large telescope. You rush to their side and help carry it in front of the blankets.
“Hange! Where did you get this telescope from??” You exclaim with delight, Hange’s face blushes at your excitement and rubs their neck.
“Well after Moblit told me that you’re passionate about astrology, I took a deep dive into what is so special about tonight. A meteor shower right? And the planets Mars and Saturn?? Well so I uh....spent my savings on this baby to see it” Hange said awkwardly, your mouth agape and eyes wide, they spent all of their money on a telescope just for this?
You lunge forward and give Hange a massive hug with excited giggles. “Hange thank you so much!! It’s going to be so amazing I promise you!!!!”
Hange blushes wildly, resisting the urge to kiss you. “Well, it’s nice to see someone so excited over science just as I am, makes me feel a little less weird”
“Oh trust me, in school when we were taught about astrology I seemed to be the only person interested! I would spend hours just researching the constellations and zodiac signs! No one really wanted to be my friend, so uhhhh well I suppose I shifted my focus on Titan fighting and work with you and your science squad. It’s not space, sure, but I too felt lonely in my hobbies!” You explained, Hange’s heartstrings felt a tug, picturing you as a kid is just too cute.
The two of you carried on with conversation, you pointed to the sky and explained the stories behind the constellations. No matter how complicated the story or science, Hange seemed to want to know more and more; you even had to pull out your notes to answer their questions. In Hange’s mind, they had spoke about the science of titans for years and never bothered to ask you where your true passions lie. They questioned why they never asked, perhaps they were too nervous? Hange always put on a mask of being this optimistic, eccentric scientist and even acted cocky in front of you, but secretly they were just as insecure and shy towards you. They wanted to get to know you, but of course the element of dying at any point worried them; if they got too attached, especially romantically, it would hurt more. However, since the two of you are out there, looking at the telescope and talking so much, Hange’s fears lifted, even if it was for an evening.
Using the telescope, you pointed it in the direction of Mars and Saturn, both planets basically next to each other, a wonderful view to see. They weren’t super clear of course, the telescope wasn’t that powerful, but you could clearly see Saturns rings; something Hange got super excited over, asking you millions of questions. It wasn’t until the both of you sat down, waiting for the showers to come did you gulp and turn to Hange.
“Hange, I hope you don’t mind but I really would like to talk to you” You began, nervously fumbling with your fingers
“We’ve been talking all night??”
“AHH no I mean I have to say something okay. Please don’t say anything until I uhh finish because I just kinda wanna blurt it all out okay??” You really are stuttering and slipping up on your words, Hange gives a reassuring smile and nods. “Okay, I uhh...” You were interrupted by the meteors shooting across the sky. Mesmerised, you didn’t move your face away from Hange, just your eyes, they took this opportunity to lean in and kiss you. Your eyes widen in shock, what are they doing?? They’re going to miss the meteor shower! Despite this, you relax and close your eyes, leaning into them and deepening the kiss.
“Hange...”
“As you were sooo distracted, your turn has been cancelled. I’ll go first. Y/N I really like you, I have done for a while, and I know you and Levi bathe me together, and sometimes...sometimes I hear you”
“Ahhhh!!!!” You yell out in embarrassment, Hange lifts a finger to your mouth
“Ah ah ah, I am not finished yet! I find you breath taking, I even get so overwhelmed by the way you just stand there! It makes me want to work harder, so much so I would purposefully knock myself out so you could bathe me...oh gods that sounds bad. Not in that way I JUST REALLY ENJOY HEARING YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH THE CAPTAIN!!!” Hange is now the one getting all flustered, waving their hands erratically. They didn’t want it to sound weird, but they aren’t exactly experienced in expressing their feelings.
“Hey no I get it, sort of...but yeah I really like you too and I guess I’ve never...I UGH words” You pathetically confess, earning a laugh from Hange.
“We’re not very good at this are we, space girl?” Hange moves their arm around you and pulls you in to a hug. Your eyes light up at your little nickname, they definitely do listen to yours and Levi’s conversations. You take this opportunity to kiss Hange, feeling their soft lips on yours.
“You’ve showered haven’t you?” You smirk into the kiss, Hange looks at you, confused and a little insulted.
“How ... whaaaa?”
“You smell delicious” you say boldly, in fact Hange did shower before meeting you tonight, for the first time in ages. They of course laugh at you, and confess. You both sit there for a moment, watching the rest of the meteor showers, colours of gold and silver shooting across the sky.
“How beautiful” You whispered to yourself, Hange looks at you and smiles
“Not as be-”
“Nope. That’s so cringey” you joke, Hange slaps your legs earning a weird moan/yelp from your lips. You cover your mouth in embarrassment. Hange looks at you with curiosity, what a response to just a playful slap. Hange’s face confidently smirks, taking your chin in their hands.
“What was that?” Hange asked seductively, walking two fingers up your thigh. You shiver at how foreword your squad leader is being.
“Nothing...”
“Do you think I’ll be able to get another noise like that out of you?” Hange moves their face forward, practically whispering next to your ear
“I uh...oh look the meteors! They are still going!” You panic, the air is thick, your heart fluttering at how close they are getting. Not that you wouldn’t want to...it’s just moving so fast that you couldn’t barely keep up.
“The meteors can wait”
“I mean technically...” you’re words at cut off by Hange kissing your neck, testing the waters a little before going right ahead. You softly moan out Hange’s name, heaving a little bit at the intensity. So long have you envisioned yourself in this position, being kissed by your squad leader; you’ve thought about it and you’ve touched yourself to it. You may be feeling a little awkward now, but you shiver with anticipation to see how far this could go.
“Are you okay?” Hange asks, looking at you with a little concern, they can feel you tensing under their touch, even shaking a little. “I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable”
“No! No definitely I’m okay I’m just inexperienced. I mean I’m not but it’s different when it’s you because I...I like you and I want to do this but, can we start off slow?” You ask nervously, Hange gives you a tender kiss on your forehead and holds you close.
“If you ever want to stop, please tell me okay?” Hange asks, you nod at them eagerly before pulling them close in for a confident kiss. You lean back onto a pillow, allowing Hange to hover above you, lips still connected. What a feeling this is, never would you imagine getting this close to them; you savour every moment. Hange sits up and takes off their shirt, revealing a binder underneath before taking that off too, your eyes fall to the exposed skin; a lump in your throat. There Hange is, straddling you and pinning you down, half naked and stunning.
“Gods...” You whisper under your breath, Hange snickers at your cute expression before attacking your neck. They plant several erratic kisses all of you, earning a mixture of moaning and giggling.
“What happened to going slow?” You chuckle out, Hange stops immediately and changes their expression.
“I can slo-”
Hange’s words are cut short as you flip them over underneath you, their eyes wide and breaths manic, that is until you sloppily kiss their lips. Hungry noises leave either of your throats as you fight for dominance; you suppose the issue here is that the both of you are so eager, so keen to please that you clash - but in the best possible way. One final flip and you find yourself locked onto the floor under a very horny squad leader. And by locked, it means having Hange gripping your jaw with one hand and the other being intertwined with yours.
“Be my good little space girl, let me see you” Hange unbuttons your shirt, one button at a time, almost painfully slowly. 1...2..3...4...and suddenly your chest is on full view. You attempt to cover yourself, but too late, Hange is already kissing every bit of skin they can see, uncapping your breast from your bra like a hungry animal and latching their mouth onto a free nipple. They graze their teeth and tongue over your sensitive bud, sucking slightly. You reach a hand up to their head and grip their hair slightly, enjoying the sensation. Whilst you are so distracted, Hange reaches a hand down to your trousers, you don’t even notice them unbuttoning them; it was only until their hand was ghosting over your underwear did you look down. They then press a finger against your clothed pussy, feeling your growing excitement.
“Wet already?” Hange scoffs against your breast, you can’t even answer; either from embarrassment or your panting. Hange thinks back to your little yelp, they would love to hear you make such a noise again. “Over my knee sweet pea” Hange ordered, without hesitation you stood up and allowed Hange to sit down, here you bend over their knee, raising your ass into the air to give them all the access they need. After pulling down your trousers to your ankles, they take extra time to look at you; you’re hot and bothered, shaking a little in anticipation. Hange looks to your perfect ass, stroking and groping it slightly, thinking about all the little red hand prints they will leave on you.
“Such a good girl” Hange mewed before landing a harsh slap across your cheek, you yelp out in a mixture of pain and pleasure. Enjoying the noise so much, Hange slaps your ass over and over, allowing little to no breaks between each hit - you knew this isn’t quite how spanking works but it feels good and Hange definitely was enjoying watching your ass jiggle with each slap.
“Ow!” You yell out, that last hit was a little too hard; Hange, feeling sorry kisses your now extremely red behind.
“I’m sorry, I got a bit carried away; here...” Hange moves their hand over to your underwear again and slips under the fabric to stroke your aching clit. Whatever pain you felt had all disappeared to the sudden wave of pleasure that is Hange. They spread your pussy a little, allowing their middle finger to trace your folds and stop at your clit; here, Hange uses their middle and index finger to rub the sensitive nub, interchanging their technique from circling to a forward to back motion. You could feel the knot build up in your lower abdomen, imaging yourself cumming onto Hange’s fingers. That was until they pulled their fingers away, you let out a disappointed moan and looked to your squad leader with pleading eyes.
Without word or warning, Hange lowers themself down and repositions you over their face. You were now suddenly close to Hange’s pussy, unfortunately still clothed, as you fumble at their belt you could feel Hange lift your ass up a little and look down to see what you’re doing. They smirk, hands leaving you and helping you pull down their trousers and underwear; much better.
You wasted no time but to dip your head at their entrance and lapped up their juices, hands either side of their propped up legs and making sure to be especially rough on their clit. Hange moans out painfully, how long had it been since they were in this position? Your ass is forcefully lowered onto Hange’s face, you feel them lick and suck at your clit, feeling your knot tighten one more. Your legs begin to shake, you won’t be lasting long and Hange can just sense it.
“Y/N look! The meteors are going again!” Hange yells out, you stop licking and look immediately up to the sky; but this was a trick because Hange pulls you down further, inserting 2 fingers into you and eats you out rougher than before, earning an eruption inside you, bursting and almost painful as you cum hard onto their mouth and fingers.
“Venus~!” You strangled out, shaking heavily above Hange who cocks their head to the side.
“Venus?”
“Uh..yeah sorry I don’t know why I do that...” you breathlessly panted out
“Don’t apologise, its cute” Hange strokes your ass, giggling at their little space weirdo. You position yourself above Hange, taking them by surprise as you cup their pussy with your hand.
“Got you” Was all you could say before inserting two of your fingers inside your squad leader. You arch your fingers inside of them, using your thumb to draw circles over their clit as they pant and whine under you. Using your free hand you grab both their wrists and hold them above their head, giving you full view of their body. As you finger fuck them, you reach down and kiss them, moving your lips from theirs to over their neck, sucking hard; making sure to leave a dark mark. That was it for Hange, their whole body trembles and cums undone; what you didn’t expect was the flood that left their body, squirting all over you.
“Globular Cluster!!!” Hange screams out, they were a hot mess, melting into the blanket. You crawl next to them and snuggle into their chest. They begin to stroke your hair, leaving forehead kisses.
“Globular cluster?” You ask cheekily, Hange laughs and pats your back.
“Listen, if you are going to scream out space words during sex instead of my name, I might as well do it too!”
“That is too adorable”
“As are you Y/N, do you think my space girl could love an earth...ehhh girl?”
“There is a gender neutral word for that you know, earthling” You giggle, Hange huffs a little, cheeks dusted with a pink blush.
“But yes, this space girl loves her earthling” you say, kissing their head. The both of you spent the rest of the evening just staring at the stars, Hange continuously asking questions including “What’s my zodiac sign?” and “Is yours compatible with a Virgo?” - not that it particularly matters whether you are astrologically compatible with Hange, you already knew you were.

I would choose to be with you (as if the choice were mine to make)

Synopsis: SPOILERS FOR S5B: Instead of going to Heaven after opening his door in Hell, Dan ends up somewhere he could have never imagined. Or: 5 times Dan tries to appear as a ghost to his friends and family and one time he manages to do a little more.
Rating: G
Notes: Hey guys!! I know I haven't written anything for god knows how long and this probably wasn't what you wanted me to work on, but I guess that's how it goes. Don't worry, I haven't abandoned my zombie John fic, it's just on hold while I find my creative motivation, sorry ;) This fic was inspired by So It Goes (the Marianas Trench version). I should have the other chapters up fairly quickly (like within the week). I'm not having year-long update gaps on a 5+1 fic. This is not betaed because apparently I cannot bring myself to care :)) I'm sorry if this sucks lol
Dan stared at his reflection in Chloe’s bathroom mirror. He had only been in her apartment bathroom once or twice when he’d been alive, and it almost felt like an intrusion to stand here now, watching her do her makeup at the vanity. Next to his haggard self, Chloe looked beautiful. She always looked beautiful. But perhaps it was the life thrumming through her veins that made her skin look especially vibrant and her eyes warm with an inner fire that Dan had learned after his death only the mortal living seemed to possess.
Dan’s eyes had always been dark, even when he was alive. Sometimes his tía used to tell him that God must have sculpted them from the very earth that birthed Adam and welcomed a felled Abel. It was meant to be a complement, but more than once Dan had found himself begging for penance for his flat, discarded ashtray-bottoms for eyes.
Back then, Dan was sure there was a little bit of devil in those eyes. Now, staring at the husk of a body barely clinging to the blunt corners of his soul, Dan knew better. There wasn’t anything behind the two holes bored into his skull. Just as there was nothing behind the equally lifeless face they belonged to.
Dan watched as Chloe drew her hair up into a ponytail. If he took a step to his right, her elbow would brush his shoulder on its way into taming her golden locks. But he stood rooted to the spot, lingering just out of her reach. His visits to Earth always ended like this--with his family moving on with their lives and Dan being forced to play the impassive observer.
It wasn’t like Dan had much of a choice. He still wasn’t quite sure how to control where and when he appeared on Earth. In fact, he wasn’t quite sure if this even was Earth at all. For all he knew Dan was still in Hell. It sure felt like Hell at times. Even if he had gone through the door, his door, the one that kept Charlotte sputtering and coughing all over his jacket and repeatedly cursing his name, Dan felt like he’d never left. If he had truly escaped, he could reach out and zip up the back of Chloe’s dress instead of having to watch her struggle alone with the zipper stuck stubbornly between her shoulder blades.
Dan’s lips curled into something resembling disgust. He felt like such a pervert, staring at his ex-wife getting dressed in the bathroom with her none the wiser. Dan was familiar with this feeling. Since his death, emotions were hard to come by and even harder to identify. Hell’s atrocities, and perhaps life’s as well, had left him hollowed out and numb. Nothing more than a limp corpse, cursed to be reanimated and tugged around through the ether like a piece of garbage caught in the undertow of some vast ocean.
In spite of his disgust, Dan always found himself unable to tear his gaze away from whomever he appeared for. This time was no different.
Chloe finally wrangled the zipper up to the base of her neck where it belonged. With a satisfied huff, she moved on to shuffle through a vanity drawer, pulling out a tube of mascara. Her figure obscured Dan’s in the mirror as she leaned over the sink to brush it onto her lashes, leaving Dan no choice but to watch her careful ministrations.
Yet again, Dan was struck by her beauty. Every flick of her wrist, every deft swipe of her fingers across her skin, smoothing smile lines and stray hairs alike, looked effortless. Even in his final moments, Dan hadn’t felt as light as Chloe looked at that moment.
It was times like these when Dan wished he had fought harder for his life, instead of letting the weight of his grief suffocate and damn him to eternal unrest. He wondered if he had fought, if he had managed to cling to his miserable mortality, would he have gotten this? Would he have moved on from Chloe and from Charlotte? It was obvious that Chloe was getting dressed up for a date or a night out; could Dan have had that? Could he have been happy like Chloe was now, with a new ring on her finger and a smile stashed away for the man who undoubtedly put it there? He supposed he’d never know.
Dan had given up on dreaming of such things long ago in the depths of Hell. The problem with wanting was that sometimes you actually got what you wished for. But as with everything else in Hell, desires had a way of morphing into nightmares. Dan was tired of nightmares. He’d always had them, even when he was still living. Turning to the church like his tía had suggested had never helped. Instead, as a boy Dan had found solace in reading. He had liked the modern classics--McCarthy, Capote, Hemingway--but his favorite had always been Vonnegut.
In Hell, the words of Vonnegut had helped him numb the pain of his eternal torture. He had repeated those coveted words from Slaughterhouse Five so many times that the words might as well be seared onto his tongue.
So it goes.
That was what he told himself. The first time Charlotte appeared in his Hell loop. So it goes. The first time he watched Malcolm kidnap Trixie. So it goes. The first time he found Chloe choking on her own blood under Palmetto Street. So it goes. Every dizzying cycle of guilt and abuse, he forced his response to remain the same. So it goes.
Dan had told himself those words until they became a part of him. Until he could detach himself from his guilt long enough to yank open the door, away from that hell and straight into a new one. If Dan had only known what lurked on the other side of that door, perhaps he would have never opened it. Better the devil he knew, right? At least he could anticipate what was coming in his cell in Hell. Here, adrift through space and time, Dan never knew what to expect. Sometimes that was the worst kind of torture.
In the mirror, Chloe’s reflection put the finishing touches on her makeup. Dan tried to move out of her way as she stepped away from the vanity to examine her work, but he found himself rooted to the spot. Instead of hitting his chest and severing his connection to this plane, Chloe simply slipped right through it. Still, Dan braced for the disappearing act that was sure to follow as it did with every other person who managed to touch him, yet it never came.
Her eyes instantly snapped to his in the mirror. The hope that he saw within their depths was sickening. Even so, every fiber of his being stilled. The room had suddenly become cold as Dan let himself indulge in her foolish hopes. How Chloe knew to look in that specific direction, he didn’t know, but he wasn’t about to waste time trying to figure it out. Dan tried to force his tongue from where it was cemented to the roof of his mouth. What he would he say, he did not know, but he knew it was important to say something. Anything.
But words did not come. Instead, Chloe’s form began to fuzz over as he had anticipated before, and Dan felt himself being dragged back into the cold ether. For the first time, Dan struggled against the ghastly fingers of shadow. He wanted to stay. Chloe had felt him, she had seen him. He needed to tell her--what? That he missed her? That he had tried to hold on, had tried to cling to life, even if death seemed intent on feasting on his soul? The questions swirled around his head, knocking into long-dead synapses and the spent pieces of himself he had cast aside in the face of his demise. For the first time since his death, Dan felt more than just a hollowed out shell of himself.
Before he could find the power to utter those words, the vision of Chloe and the vanity faded entirely, leaving him staring at the vast black nothing.

Kindness & Justice: Backstory
The two adolescent girls huddled around a small campfire in the twilight, trying to finish their dinner before nightfall. The tall cook poured the remains of pancake batter into the cast iron pan, mentally crossing her fingers that this one wouldn’t stick as bad as the previous one did.
“This is the last one,” the cook said, “You want it?”
“No, that one is all yours,” her friend answered between mouthfuls. She didn’t have a fork, so she had rolled up the pancake like a burrito. At some point, her black cowboy hat had fallen off her head and hung against her back by the drawstring. It was her latest attempt at bringing Western wear back into vogue. “I shouldn’t have teased you for packing all that kitchen stuff. This turned out way better than I expected.”
“Worth it?” the cook asked with a grin.
“Worth it,” the shorter girl smiled. She finished off her food and stretched, moving her hat so she could lay down by the fire. The pink-streaked clouds floated overhead. It was warm enough that the fire was a little bit uncomfortable, but it didn’t seem right to lay anywhere else.
“So…” the cowgirl ventured, “You ready to talk about what happened with your folks?”
“Ugh, not really,” she answered, prodding at the batter with the spatula, “But, after working so hard to cheer me up, I suppose you’ve earned the right to know... Mom and Dad cornered me about their suspicions, and I told them the truth about us. Well, not about us, exactly, I left you out of it. I told them about me.”
“I’m guessing they didn’t take it too well.”
“I mean, they took it about as well as expected. Shouting, some crying, the whole works. Kept saying it was their fault, but that didn’t stop them from blaming me anyway.” The cook glanced at her friend, and saw her scowling. “It really wasn’t that bad though,” she added, “I mean, it could have been a lot worse, I’m pretty lucky, when you think about it.”
“Are you kidding me?” she sat up, her face incredulous, “Your parents are the lucky ones for having a daughter like you! They don’t deserve you, and you don’t deserve to be treated like a mistake. The unfairness of it all, it just--” she clenched the fabric of her skirt, stumbling over her words, “Once we get back to the city, I’m going to give them a piece of my mind.”
“I really wish you wouldn’t…” the tall girl said, her voice falling low, “I know it’s not your style, but I want you to try to be nice to them.” The cowgirl rolled her eyes, so she continued with a bit of forced smile, “Not for them but for me, okay?”
The short friend sighed, “Okay, for you. Is that thing done cooking yet?”
In response, the cook jerked the pan, masterfully flipping the pancake over. One side was a perfect golden brown. “Just a little bit longer now.”
The cowgirl sat up, surveying the campsite. The two of them had never been camping before, and the hike had been much harder than either of them had anticipated. It didn’t help that they had over-packed and had to cut their climb a bit short as a result. Nonetheless, the clear warm night and birds chirping in the trees made the escape feel almost as magical as the girls had hoped for. A quiet sanctuary where no people would be around: well, most likely no people, that is.
“Hey, speaking of miserable family members,” the short girl ventured, “Did I ever tell you about the skeleton in my family’s closet?”
“This better not be one of your weird scary horror stories.”
“It sure is!” she answered. The cowgirl jumped to her feet, clearing her voice in preparation for the tale, “Listen to this: when my grandpa was a little kid, his brother tried to murder him.”
“How very ‘Cain and Abel’,” the cook smirked, “You can’t just start there. Start at the beginning of the story. What lead up to it?”
“That’s just it, no one really knows. Everyone says he just snapped and went crazy when the two of them were home alone. Grandpa was just happily playing video games at the time, so maybe his brother wanted a turn.”
“That… doesn’t seem like a very compelling motive,” the cook said, checking the underside of her pancake, “Are you sure your grandpa’s not exaggerating?”
“It’s the truth!” the cowgirl insisted, “His brother attacked him and cracked his head against the coffee table. They found gramps in a puddle of blood in the living room, and he had to be rushed to the hospital and got six stitches! But I still haven’t gotten to the best part.” The girl paused for dramatic effect.
“Best or worst?” the cook lifted the whole pancake with her spatula and tested a small bite on the edge. It was still too hot to eat.
“The best part is…” the cowgirl swept her arm towards the dimly lit forest around them, “His brother fled to this very mountain. And he was never found again.”
“What?” the girl dropped her pancake on the ground. She quickly snapped it up and set it back in the pan. Dirt and ash was stuck to it.
“Five second rule,” the cowgirl murmured.
“Did you just say your grandpa--”
“Great uncle.”
“--your great uncle ran away to this mountain and died?”
“Disappeared. Maybe he still roams this mountain, searching for more innocent children to send to their graves…” The short girl’s voice was dramatic, but her eyes were dancing with mischief.
“Are you kidding me, that’s so creepy! And to think coming here was your idea! Was this all a set up to scare me?” The cook crossed her arms, but her friend just laughed.
“No, no! To be honest, I didn’t realize this particular trail was a part of The Mount Ebott until we were on our way.”
“A likely story,” the cook murmured as she nibbled the edge of her pancake.
“It’ll be fine, really. Oh, I know--I have something to protect you from any undead uncles. Check this out!” the cowgirl skipped towards their yellow tent and unzipped her backpack that was laying in front of it. She withdrew a long leather holster, with a revolver already tucked inside it.
The tall girl’s jaw dropped open, “You brought your dad’s gun?!”
“Maybe,” she giggled, strapping the holster around her waist, “It will be my gun in a few years, I’m just borrowing it a little early.”
“Do you even know how to use one of those things?”
“Yeah, yeah, I shoot it every year on my birthday. Family tradition.” the gunslinger drew her weapon, pointing it out towards the woods.
“Don’t--”
“It’s okay, it’s not loaded,” she said, popping open the cylinder, “The ammo’s in my bag.”
The cook shook her head, “And I thought my family was crazy.”
The cowgirl spun the gun around her finger and holstered the weapon with practiced flourish. She spoke with an exaggerated drawl, “Don’t worry, darlin’, this lone ranger will defend you from any murderin’ spectral horrors.”
“Stop it! You’re awful!” the cook laughed, before taking another bite of her food. It wasn’t as dirty as she thought, and she swallowed a few more bites before stuffing the rest in her mouth.
“You hear that?” the lone ranger put a hand to her ear, “It won’t be safe for long, we best be getting to bed before the devil finds us.”
“Oh please, that’s enough, Calamity Jane.”
“I prefer the name--”
She was cut off by the sharp crack of a snapped branch. The gunslinger stilled, turning in the direction of the noise, “What was that?”
The tall girl huffed in response, “I said cut it out--" but the cowgirl shushed her, scanning the dense foliage around them. Her heart caught in her throat as she saw a pair of eyes glinting from their firelight. A huge creature, larger than a man, was standing on two legs and peering into the camp from about two hundred feet away.
"There's--" the gunslinger's voice strained to form the words, "There's a bear."
The cook froze. She reached for her cast iron pan and held it with both hands. "What do we do?" she whispered.
The cowgirl shook her head. There weren't supposed to be bears in this area. According to her research, none had been seen for over a decade, which is why she hadn't bothered to look up how to defend against one. The bear dropped down to all fours, and they could hear it begin to huff and snarl.
"Get ready to run," she hissed. The cook stood, and the shorter girl eyed her backpack that held her ammunition. It was sitting at the foot of the tent, but she would have to go toward the monster to retrieve it. The bag was only fifteen feet away but it might as well have been fifteen miles.
The two didn’t have a chance to decide when to act. With a roar, the bear lunged forward, crashing through the foliage as it charged. The cook shrieked, fleeing the camp, but the cowgirl did the opposite, sprinting towards her bag. She had almost reached it when the tent surged forward, collapsing on top of her in a wave of nylon and snapped metal supports. The gunslinger fell to her back and she pushed the tangle of tent away from her face, only to see the bear looming over her, separated only by the crushed tent. The girl shielded her face with her arms and braced herself for what was to come.
“Get away from her!” her friend screamed. She had returned, and had taken to bludgeoning the bear’s hindquarters with her pan. The bear twisted around and swiped a clawed paw towards her, but the cook jumped back, turning heel to run again. With a snarl, the bear released the cowgirl and chased its assailant. The gunslinger kicked the tangled tent off her legs and before she realized it she was chasing the bear, screaming obscenities and death threats. The cook was fast, but the bear was faster, and she lost sight of them both as they crested a small hill outside the camp.
A blood curdling shriek filled the tree tops, followed by silence.
The gunslinger tore up the slope and hesitated when she reached the apex. Her friend was nowhere in sight, but the bear had already changed directions, loping back towards her. Her fingers reached for her gun, but she reminded herself it was still empty, and willed herself to retreat. The rapid thumping of the bear’s steps told her she wouldn’t make it to the camp before it caught up with her.
Overhead, the large branch of a cedar bowed over her. Leaping, the girl grabbed it and hoisted herself onto the branch before scrambling up the next. The bear was under the tree in an instant, stretching to full height to swipe at her. Its claw caught her foot, nearly yanking her out of the tree, but only managed to knock off her boot. The girl continued to climb, and the bear snapped off the lower branches, pushing against the trunk. The tree shuddered and flexed under the weight.
With one arm wrapped tight around a branch, the cowgirl pulled off her remaining boot and tossed it down. It bounced off the bear’s shoulder, who gave it a glance before turning its attention back to the girl. She whispered a prayer before unholstering her weapon, and threw the revolver at the monster. The gun crashed against the bear’s muzzle with an audible whack, and the bear pulled back from the tree, shaking its head. She held her breath as the bear paced around the tree before leaving in the direction of the camp. The dense canopy obstructed her view of it, but the tell tale sounds of the creature ripping through bags and crunching through supplies told her all she needed to know.
The girl settled onto the upper branches of the tree and wrapped her arms around the trunk. Against the odds, she was safe but trapped. Without a loaded gun, leaving the tree wasn’t a risk she could afford to take. To make matters worse, the last rays of twilight were fading away, cloaking the woods in frigid darkness. Her flashlight, phone, and ammunition were all at the camp, hidden under the destroyed tent. There was nothing she could do but wait it out.
***
Two hours elapsed before the bear left the camp. Another 30 minutes went by before the gunslinger felt safe enough to crawl down from the tree. Her fingers and toes were frozen and her legs ached as she collected her gun and put her boots back on. However, she didn’t have the luxury to pity herself. Through the dark, she crept back to where the campfire once was and strained her eyes in the dim moonlight for the remains of the tent. It had been dragged a good distance away, destroyed beyond use. She was relieved to find her backpack still twisted up inside, and rifled through the contents. She flicked on her flashlight and put it in the crook of her neck as she loaded her gun. Only six bullets, just enough to show it off to her friend.
If only she had loaded it earlier, then that monster would have got what it deserved.
The lone ranger returned to the camp and cast her flashlight across the ransacked carnage. Clothes and supplies were strewn throughout the foliage, and all that remained of the food were shredded cans and crushed boxes. Even the cooking utensils had been mutilated with gnaw marks. Rage boiled inside her.
The forest looked very dizzyingly similar at night, and she found herself walking in circles, ending up back at the camp again and again. Finally, she accurately identified the hill she had last seen her friend and was surprised to discover a steep drop of about twenty feet not far from it, jagged granite boulders resting at the base. There she found her first lead. A conspicuous dark splatter against the white rocks: blood.
The small girl shouted her friend’s name, but there was no response. She climbed down the steep surface of the cliff side at a much slower pace than her friend would have been afforded. The blood was no longer fresh, but she could see the direction it led before the ground cover became more soil than stone. She followed the trail.
The ferns and ivy lashed across her torn stockings, but she continued forward, right hand hovering over her weapon. She stopped at the entrance of a cave yawning out of the mountainside. It looked both parts refuge and trap. Didn’t bears live in caves?
She called out her friend’s name again, but was answered only with a faint echo. At least it was better than the growl of bears. She shined her light across the back of the cave and could see the tunnel curved, making it impossible to see how deep it was. As she traced the floor with the light, something sparkled. The gunslinger ventured forward and pinched it between her fingers: a hair pin, with a small crystal embedded at the end. The last time she had seen it was in her friend’s hair. She had been here.
The cowgirl huffed out a shuddering sigh, and she couldn’t tell if it was from relief or a renewed sense of dread. If her friend had been here, where was she now?
The child took a deep breath and stepped deeper into the cave.

Jax
“Girls are still at yer old house,” Chibs explains, blowing smoke out from his cigarette.
“I’ll relieve the prospect after I stop by the hospital.”
“Going to see the lad?”
I wince under his censure. Chibs doesn’t have to say a word to get his point across.
Everything that needs to be said is visible in his eyes.
“Naw. Gonna set his mother straight.”
Chibs grunts.
“What?” I snap.
“I didnae say a word.” He shakes his head, takin a deep inhale.
“Yeah, ya don’t have to,” I mutter, spinning on my heels and taking off.
Clay’s just got finished giving me shit about Mom telling him I hadn’t seen Abel.
No one stops to consider it might be too much for me.
I’ve gotten so used to people leaving, I keep them at a distance.
I also have a lot of shit on my plate, and I can’t afford to drop the ball.
They want me to put the club first but don’t stop to look at what the cost might look like. I’d rather be dealing with the fucking Mayans than this family guilt trip shit.
Clay attempting to keep me in line by holding Abel’s hospital bills in my face was a low blow. But I’ve come to expect that shit from him.
There’s not enough time in the world to stop me from being furious with Wendy when I reach St. Thomas.
I’m glad Tara is nowhere to be seen.
I got my hands full with one crazy ex.
Wendy looks like death warmed over.
Ratty bleached out blonde hair, sallow skin, and dark circles that lend to her skeleton impression. What the fuck did I ever see in her?
Another lost soul who needed an anchor, so she didn’t drift off the deep end.
It worked for a time.
I should’ve ended it when it stopped, and she relapsed the second time, instead of ignoring her like she’d go away on her own.
She looks up and starts to cry when she sees me.
Stepping in, I ignore her hysterics.
I’ve grown immune to them.
“You need to get help, Wendy,” I say, trying to soften the irritation in my tone.
“I know, I know— But it’s not what you think. I was doing so good, Jax. I love my baby. Even with us being fucked up.” She shakes her head, wiping at imaginary tears.
“So the meth fairy shot you up?”
She looks down at the bed, and I tense.
Her lack of eye contact’s always been a tell-tail sign she’s hiding shit from me.
“Start talking now, Wendy.” I growl.
“I thought he loved me. That he didn’t care I was having your baby. I was wrong. All he wanted to talk about was you and the club. I didn’t tell him. I didn’t.” She shakes her head, speaking as if she’d forgotten I was even there.
Walking over, I grip her bedrail to keep from gripping her arms and shaking the answers out of her.
“And.” I ground out.
“He forced me to shoot up Jax! H-He Said I was going to tell one way or the other!”
Well for Fuck’s sake!
“Son of a bitch. What did you say to him, Wendy?”
She shakes her head.
“I- I don’t know. The doctor said Abel’s getting stronger. He said maybe they would fix his belly. Maybe tomorrow morning.” I shake my head at her attempt to change the topic.
Now I have to worry about what the Nords know on top of everything else.
“They’ll do everything they can.”
I won’t hope. That’s a dangerous thing I can’t afford to do right now.
“My lawyer said they might file criminal charges. Fetal abuse. I got stuff back at the house in the stash drawer.”
“Jesus Christ.” I scoff, shaking my head.
It never ends with this bitch.
“You expect me to bring it to you so you can get high too?” I growl.
“No, I told you…” She whines.
“I didn’t even want to do it, Jax. You have to believe me. Just if they find that shit, they’re gonna put me away.”
“Might be the only way you’ll get clean,” I state honestly.
Plus, her outta the picture might make all the women in my life a lot happier.
“You own the house, Jax. I’d hate to see this blowback on you.”
The truth of her statement dumps over me like a bucket of cold water.
“Yeah, of course.” I chuckle dryly.
Now there’s another fucking mess I gotta fucking clean up.
It never ends.
Fuck, I need to find the shit before the girls do. I don’t want them anywhere near that shit, let alone touching it.
“Jax, wait. Please, please, Jax!” Her whining falls on deaf ears as I leave the hospital behind and hit the road.
Pulling up into the driveway, I gesture for the grunt to leave as I enter the house that never felt like a home.
I watch briefly as the girls pitch things into garbage bags, spraying and scrubbing down furniture.
It hits me in the heart and the gut.
The three women I love most are here together, doing what they can to make this shit show more tolerable.
I clear my throat. “It’s almost midnight.”
They all stop, startled by my appearance before glancing up at me with tired expressions.
“The place is a goddamn pigsty.” Ma huffs, picking up all the clothes laying around.
“Cleaning was never her strong suit. But it didn’t look like this last time we were here.”
Mom glances over at me.
Sitting on the desk next to the half wall that separates the living room from the wall, I look over at the girls working in the kitchen and dining room.
“What are you doing here?” Mom asks, continuing her almost frantic cleaning.
“It’s my house,” I offer, pulling my riding gloves off.
“No, it’s your property. There’s a big difference,” J corrects walking into the living room with another trash bag.
Lee meets my gaze, studying me with those blue lasers that always see everything I want to hide.
I look away, unable to keep my secret in the face of her worry-filled expression.
“You know what I mean. I don’t want you to see it this way,” Ma says as she continues to straighten and organize.
It’s her way, always in action to run from her emotions.
“You guys don’t have to do this.” Guilt hits me.
They’re over here cleaning up the mess I made.
My stomach clenches.
“Look, we just want it livable,” Lee says walking into the living room with an empty hamper for the clothes.
Her words should be soothing, but that’s the last thing I want right now.
“I’ll buy some decent carpet. Cigarette burns are everywhere.” Mom mutters, continuing to pick up Wendy’s mess. “Mom.” I try to grab her attention, but she continues to mumble and clean.
“Make this shit-hole a home for your son.”
Something in me snaps at the mention of Abel.
“Mom, For chrissakes, stop cleaning!” I bark.
J steps in front of her.
“Oh hell no. You don’t get to talk to her like that! Not when we’re here helping your ass out. Trying to clean up the fucking trail of mess you left behind. Like always!”
I flinch.
“Jax.” Lee shakes her head.
The disapproval is visible in her blue sapphires.
“He’s not gonna make it.” I let my worries fly out of my mouth.
The girls gasp, circling around me.
Lee grabs my hand, squeezing tight.
“W-What are you talking about?” Mom asks.
“What happened?” Lee and Journee ask in that twin sync way they have.
I exhale and shake my head.
“He was born with half a stomach and a hole in his heart. He’s gonna die—.”
My head is rocked to the left, and my side is on fire from mom’s slap and baby sister’s wicked pinch.
I think the little bitch drew blood and broke the skin.
But it’s Lee letting go of my hand that hurts the most.
“Don’t you say that! You’re the only one this boy’s got! You don’t believe he’s gonna live, you might as well go and kill him yourself.” Mom snaps, glaring at me as she speaks her truth.
Turning from me, she walks over to the table and grabs the joint and lighter sitting in a bowl.
“I’m sorry.” She mumbles half-heartedly, lighting up the joint as I make my way towards her, cautiously.
My eyes catch Lee’s disappointed blues.
“You gotta go see him, Jax,” She says gently, stepping towards me.
Even through my pain, I hear Lee’s voice, but I can’t gather the guts yet to do what she’s asking me.
“I can’t.” I admit honestly.
“Why? Because he’ll break your heart? It’s called being a father,” Mom says, after blowing out her deep inhale.
I place my hand up on the half-wall, resting heavily against it.
“For how long? A day? A week?” I spit the words circling around my head out like poison.
Mom sighs, and nods to me to come take a seat with her.
I release my own sigh, and glance back to see the girls going back to cleaning but staying nearby.
Wiping at some crumbs on the table, I sink into the chair, exhausted.
Mom takes another hit from the joint before offering it to me.
I look up at her gratefully, taking a deep inhale as she takes a seat across from me.
“You know, you were born with that same heart defect as your little brother.”
She reaches across the table and gently knocks at my chest.
“You seem pretty sturdy to me.”
Her tone has changed to something a little softer and I can’t help but give her a small smile.
“I came through hell. Landed on my feet…your father was hit by a goddamn semi, dragged 178 yards...and that bastard lived for two more days. Tellers do not die easy.” She says with a proud smirk.
I snort.
“No, we just die bloody.” I say honestly.
I’m not sure that’s better.
“That’s the Irish in us,” Ma says without missing a beat.
The storm ends, and I turn to glance up at the girls.
“I’m sorry.” I mouth the words.
Journee scowls, and Lee shoots me a sad look that makes my heart squeeze painfully in my chest.
I need to get out of this moment.
“When you and dad hooked up, he ever talk to you about his vision? About what he wanted from the club?”
The girls look at me, and I nod.
Mom fidgets with the joint in her fingers before shrugging.
“His vision was— you know, what it is. A brotherhood. Family.” She offers me the joint.
“And running guns? He want that?” I keep on her, needing to get to the bottom of how we came to this position.
“He never talked about that. Why?” She eyes me for a moment, before standing from the table.
“I found a box of his old shit in the storage unit. There’s, like, pictures and journals and... Things I never knew about him.” I shrug.
“What kind of things?” Journee asks, pausing her cleaning.
“It seemed like his original idea for the MC was something simpler. You know, social rebellion. He called it a Harley commune. It wasn’t outlaw. It was real hippie shit.” I say with a slight smile.
It’s not hard to imagine my laidback father wanting that.
I take another hit of the joint, watching as Mom sighs and tosses her head slightly.
I can see her brimming with nervous energy.
I know she doesn’t like to talk about dad.
“We had a lot of bright ideas back then. We were kids. Your father became a man. Men take care of business.” She says, but she isn’t looking at me when she speaks.
“Yeah, we do.” I answer, blowing the smoke out of my nose.
“You should get home, Mom. Finish cleaning tomorrow. Lee and I will lock up.” I say as mom turns to look at me while Journee looks from me to Lee.
“You good?” She hugs Lee, who whispers something in her ear.
Mom walks over and frames my face for a moment.
“Night mom.” I say as she bends to press a kiss to my cheek.
“Night baby.” She whispers squeezing my hand before walking past me.
“Hey,” I nod at Mom. “Have her stop by the club. Your old man misses you.” I say, standing from the table.
Baby J steps closer and tugs me down to her.
“Do not fuck this up, Jaxass. Remember everything you have to lose.”
I nod my head.
“I hear you.”
She pats my cheek.
“Good.”
“Ok, darling.” Mom sounds exhausted.
It’s easy to forget sometimes she’s still only human.
“Good night, mom. Night Baby J.”
“Good night, baby.” Ma blows a kiss before grabbing her stuff.
“See you tomorrow, bro. Remember what I said.”
“Yeah.” I nod.
“Lee. I’m always a call away,” Baby J says, ignoring me as she walks up and kisses her.
I glance over to see Mom’s already out the door.
That’s new.
I guess they’re done giving a shit.
“I love you too, Nee.” Lee calls out.
They walk out, and I go to the drawer Wendy mentioned.
“What are you doing?” Lee asks, following me over to the stash drawer.
“Saving us a whole lot more trouble.” I remove the gun, syringes, and bags of smack.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Lee screeches angrily.
“Obviously not mine.” I mumble, tucking the gun into the waistband of my jeans as I walk over to the bathroom.
“Why are you covering for her? It’s like enabling.” She says as I flush the baggies away.
“Cause it’s my damn house, Harley. Imagine how much the law would love to find that shit and charge me.”
She crosses her arms and nods.
“So, you sweep in and rescue her. She has no consequences?” She follows me back to the living room.
“She’s lying in the hospital half dead right. I’m pretty sure she’s paying.” I snap, turning to look at her.
“So you could go see the Junkie bitch, but not your son?”
“It’s not like that.”
“Explain it to me, then. Cause what I see is the one solid parent Abel has turning their back.”
“Oh, that’s bullshit, and you know it. That kid is going to have more love than most kids get in a lifetime.”
“Maybe. But it won’t make up for an absent father.” She pokes her finger at my chest.
I roll my eyes, fighting back the urge to growl.
“You already labeling me now? Don’t let your past mingle with my future. I’m ain’t like Wally, and you know it.” I swipe her hand away, shaking my head.
“No. But I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of a junkie mother and a father who couldn’t’ be bothered,’ She whispers.
Her past pain bleeds into her blues, tugging at my heart strings.
Fuck.
I turn back to face her, bending slightly to catch her eyes.
“I get that, but it’s not the same, Lee. I just—my head is spinning, and I need to be grounded before facing him lying there like that, okay? It ain’t about a lack of love.” I run a hand through my hair, blowing out a deep breathe.
“You’re a Father now, Jax. You can’t keep things on the backburner anymore.” She steps forward, and I open my arms.
“I don’t want to fight, babe.” I say sincerely.
“So, let’s not fight.” Her tone doesn’t match her sentence.
I know she wants to keep talking about this and shit it’d be easier if she knew what went down with Wendy, but I’m ain’t about to add gasoline to that fire.
So I’ll keep this close to my chest for now.
“What do you want me to do?” I ask, just needing us to be okay.
“Anything, other than ignore him Jackson.” She throws her hands up in the air.
“Okay. Okay. I’ll go see Abel tomorrow.” I say, knowing it’ll make her happy.
“Yeah?” She whispers.
Her eyes light up, and I nod.
Fuck she’s got me wrapped around her finger don’t she?
“Yeah.” I swallow my pride and my fear.
I can’t control if I lose my son, but I can keep Lee.
“You’re right. I’ve been putting things on the back burner I should be handling. I want to be the kind of man my father was.” My throat clogs.
“This ain’t it.”
She steps into my arms and I hold her tight.
“I see him in you all the time Jackson. You just need to learn how to channel him and block out all the other bullshit thrown at you.” Wrapping her armss around my waist, she rests her head on my chest.
Inhaling the citrus scent of her hair, I let her ground me.
We’re in a fucking hurricane right now.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep our heads above water.
Tara, Wendy, Abel, Mayans, Nords, it’s all coming at us at once.
I can’t even catch my damn breath.
“Talk to me.” Lee tilts her head up, propping her chin on my chest as she turns those cerulean lasers up to lock onto mine.
Her anger’s faded, but I can see the steely determination in the depths of her electric blue eyes. She expects me to keep my word.
“That’s why I’m here.” She pushes gently.
I don’t even know where to start.
We’re in the middle of a powder keg, ready to explode.
The less she knows, the better.
Once you add her own issues with abandonment into the situation, I know rational thinking goes straight the fuck out the window.
“I don’t want to talk babe. I want to feel something other than worry and stress. I need you, Lee.” I whisper, pressing our lips together.
“Then have me, Jackson.” Her tone is husky but demanding.
She fists my hair and crashes our kiss together again.
I grip her face in my hands and dominate the kiss.
Tilting my head slightly I deepen our kiss and slip my tongue into her mouth, exploring the playground I already have memorized.
Wrapping my arms around her waist, I crush her frame against my chest.
The mint of the gum she’s been chewing makes my tongue tingle as the addicting scent of spicy citrus fills my nostrils. Blood rushes to my cock, slowly hardening against her. She pulls back to suck in air, and I move my hands down to her hips. I don’t want her to be even an inch from me right now.
I press forward, moving her back towards the half-wall and the desk.
Lips lock and teeth gnash as our hands work in tandem, stripping each other of our bottoms.
Unbelted and unbuttoned, my jeans drop down my hips, weighted heavily by the items always attached.
I shove down the leggings she’s wearing and lift her up from the ground.
She wraps her knees around my waist as I hold her weight with one arm, clearing the small desk and positioning her against the half-wall.
Her fingers tug at my hair, turning my head to keep our lips connected.
I growl as my hardened cock strains against the confines of my boxers.
Her wet heat sears me through the thin cotton, painting my boxers in her fragrant juices.
“Fuck. you’re so wet, baby.” I groan, grinding against her slick folds.
“Always for you.” She whimpers, reaching into my boxers to pull my cock out.
“Shit.” I hiss as her warm fist wraps around me.
Precum leaks from my tip, and she uses her thumb to smear the sticky liquid down my cock.
“Fuck I love you.” I groan as she pumps me before lining me up with her hot entrance.
“Fuck me, Jackson. Claim me as yours.” The neediness in her tone causes the beast inside me to roar to life.
“Mine,” I growl, thrusting into her without warning.
She gasps, arching her back.
I bend down, sucking the skin of her neck into my mouth.
She whimpers, turning her head to the side to allow me more access.
I stay still, basking in being completely surrounded by her and losing myself in the taste of her skin.
I suck harder, wanting to leave my mark and let everyone know she’s claimed.
“Jackson.” She gasps, clenching her muscles around my cock.
I groan at how fucking tight she feels.
Biting her neck, she whines and rolls her hips towards me.
I slide back just slightly, desperate to remain inside her for as long as possible.
I roll my hips instead of sliding out.
“O-oh.” She moans, wrapping her arms around my shoulders and hugging me closer to her.
The wood creaks with the movement, and my hands move to her thighs to support her weight.
“You feel so fucking, good baby.” Lee moans as I continue to rotate my hips inside her.
I mix it up with a rhythmic back and forth but never out of her.
This is my pussy, and the only people allowed to play in here are J. Tellers.
The quick flash image of my baby sister making my girl come has me groaning loudly and thrusting deeper.
“Fuck baby, just like that!” She cries out, clenching around me.
Her back arches, and her body trembles.
“Shit, Jackson, I’m close—so fucking close.” She gasps, rocking her hips towards me erratically.
My cock grows impossibly hard as I near mine.
I bite at her collarbone, leaving my marks all over her neck.
No one will ever doubt this woman is claimed and claimed fucking well.
“I’m yours, baby,” I whisper against her lips, letting her know this claiming goes both ways.
“And you’re fucking mine.” I hiss, rotating my hips so my cock can hit that spot inside her that makes her shatter.
“YES!” She cries out, fingernails digging into the back of my neck as her pussy locks down on me like a fucking vice.
“Fuck.” I groan, falling headfirst into my own release and shooting my hot load deep inside her.
She hugs me close as I rest my weight on my forearms against the wall, trapping her between them and struggling to catch my breath.
Lifting my head, our eyes lock, and I’m lost in the soft glow of her electric blues.
“I love you so much, Harley,” I say, leaning in to press a kiss to her lips before I slowly ease out of her.
“Mmm, love you too.” She mumbles against my lips.
“I’ll love you even more if you get me a towel.” She blinks up at me with hazy eyes and a satisfied smile.
I bend down to pull my boxers and jeans back up.
Shit, the thought of my cum swimming around inside her could make me hard again.
I know she’s got that thing in her arm, but damn if I don’t love knowing she’s marked by me, inside out.
“Leave it,” I whisper, smirking as I help her stand.
Her eyes widen, shocked by my request.
“Really?” She asks as I drop to my knees to pull her leggings back up her legs for her.
I nod, standing back to my feet and pulling her close.
“You told me to claim you. Nothing says claimed like my seed swimming around inside you.” I slip my hand down the front of her leggings and cup her pussy.
The heat radiating through the thin, wet material has me biting my lip.
She whimpers.
“And what about you, Jackson?” She asks, raising an eyebrow at me.
“Are you claimed?” She asks, confusing me with her line of questioning.
“You tell me?” I ask, tucking some loose strands from her messy bun back behind her ear.
“I thought so…” She runs her knuckles down my cheek gently.
Suddenly she’s pinching my chin tightly, tilting my head down to meet her gaze.
“But then I see, Tara Fucking Knowles is in town, and you don’t look all that shocked to see her.” The fury flames in her eyes once more.
Fuck. Shoulda known the calm would only last a few minutes.
I sigh, shaking my head.
“Shit. We really talking ‘bout this now?” I ask, stepping back.
“Fuck yes we’re talking about this! Why didn’t you fucking tell me, Jackson! I do not like being blindsided!” She pushes at my chest and steps away from me.
“How long have you fucking known? How long did you plan on keeping it from me? And why, why the hell didn’t you fucking tell me!” She pushes at my chest again.
“Lee, I’m sorry, aight? I was gonna tell you the other night when we went out for our ride, but then the Mayans blew up the warehouse, and Wendy ODing threw us right into the middle of it before I had a chance.”
I step towards her cautiously, slowly moving to grab her hands.
“I only found out that morning. I just wanted to get some us time in before I told you-“ I begin.
“Why?” She asks in a defensive tone, narrowing her eyes at me.
“Cause I know how you feel ‘bout Tara, and I just wanted us to be solid-“
She slides her hands out from mine and steps back.
Something deep inside growls at the thought of her stepping away from me.
“Why wouldn’t we be solid, Jackson? Should I be worried we’re not solid now that SHE’s back?” I can hear the accusations in her tone, and I don’t like it one damn bit.
“Nah Fuck that, Harley. Her being back don’t change shit ‘bout us.” I step to her, gripping her hips in my hands tightly.
“I think I just fucking proved that,” I growl, nodding towards the clatter of shit on the floor from our early escapade.
“You think I’m going to accept the scraps you used to give other women? Takes more than a quick fuck against a wall to make me feel secure.”
“Don’t say shit like that when you know it ain’t fucking true!” I yell before I can catch myself.
Her eyes widen, but I don’t see an ounce of fear in them.
“I fucking love you, Harley Grazer! Tara ain’t nothing to me but an old ghost, you fucking hear me!” My fingers grip her hips so she can’t step back from me again.
“That bitch is the past. You and I are headed towards a future. I ain’t gonna let that gash get in the way of that by gettin into your head.”
This is my fault.
I let her pull me from my girls and my family once before.
But I’m gonna make it damn clear it ain’t happening again.
I struggle to calm myself.
I can’t blame her for being cautious.
I release a shaky breath, trying to force some sanity back into my brain before I start to demolish the whole fucking house.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. My plan was to tell you after our ride before everything went to shit. I only found out that morning.” I loosen my grip on her hips but still hold her to me.
She’s holding tense but not trying to stepping back.
I sigh, rubbing a hand down my face when she continues to glare at me.
“I mean it, Harley. I’m sorry I let that shit get away from me, but I need you to trust me when I say I got no love left for her. S’far as I’m concerned, she’s my son’s doctor, that’s it.” I wrap my arms around her and pull her to me.
My heart clinches when she remains stiff and doesn’t melt against me the way she usually does. “Can we be okay now?” I ask, desperate for things to be right between us.
I can’t fucking handle one more damn thing right now.
Her fingers fist my hair as she tugs my hair back slightly to grab my attention.
“Don’t keep shit like that from me anymore, and we’ll always be okay, Jackson.”
My stomach knots as I think about the bombshell Wendy dropped on me in the hospital.
I should tell Lee, but I don’t know if I have the fucking energy to go through another argument right now.
I wrap my arms tighter around her waist, squeezing her to me as I collapse against her for a moment.
One thing at a time.

Dad Squad is rotting my brain (^///^), anyways.
Rusl groaned as pain woke him up. His eyes flew open and promptly closed again at the assault of sunlight on his eyes. With them still painfully watering he looked around himself hoping to catch a glimpse of Link. When he failed to catch hide or hair of his son his heart sank.
The strange man in red had come out of thin air while they were scavenging through Hyrule field to make a delivery to kakariko. Link had taken the chance while they were alone to stretch his canine legs. that hadn't stopped the man from targeting his son while his back had been turned. Rusl had managed to call out while he unsheathed the sword from his back and ran towards the pair. He had managed to grab hold of his son's tail as he was being dragged through what looked like an oil slick in the air.
The man had managed to kick Rusl hard enough that he let go once they were on the other side, and his head found a rock on contact. Rusl swallowed in shame as he recalled the blurry vision of Link standing over his prone body, growling a warning at the enemy while Rusl's eye had slipped closed against his will.
Surveying the area around him he was easily able to spot the rock he had hit, still slick with the blood coating the back of his head. then his eye caught on something shiny and Rusl stiffened when he saw that it was a massive set of armor attached to an equally massive hylian. lying nearby was another hylian, this one shorter than Rusl and looking . . . rough in a word. the dirt scuffs, cuts and overall haggard appearance was similar to how Link looked when he finally dragged the village children home after saving Hyrule.
Before he could decide how to leave without the giant warrior noticing him, both men sat up and yelled one name
"LINK!"
(sorry this is kinda long lol)

HANG ON, hang on, just give me a minute—*squeals into pillow* Ok!
Rusl jolted. “Who are you? You met Link?”
The larger, armored Hylian turned his… goddess, what happened to his eyes?!
Before Rusl could register what was happening, he was hauled off the ground entirely, held in the air by a firm grip on his tunic. The… otherworldly Hylian was at eye level with him now, allowing Rusl to get a entirely too lose look at his tattoos and blank eyes.
“How do you know of Link?” He asked, his tone dark and unnervingly powerful.
Rusl fought the wave of nausea that hit him. He supposed that head wound was a problem. Swallowing, he explained. “He’s my son.”
“You look nothing like him.”
Well, then. This fellow was certainly rude. “He’s adopted. Doesn’t make him any less my son.”
“Link never spoke of a father, adopted or otherwise.”
“All right, cut it out,” a more baritone voice interrupted sharply, garnering both men’s attention. The other Hylian was on his feet, eyes ablaze with fury and body tense. This apparently made him more of a threat than the injured Ordonian, who was dropped unceremoniously as the armored man drew his blade.
“Many boys are named Link, this isn’t an issue,” the smaller Hylian snapped. “Clearly the Yiga are searching for the old fallen Hero.”
Rusl and the other both froze, completely confused. Or, at least Rusl was.
“This theory is plausible,” the taller Hylian said, though he didn’t sheath his blade. His face scrunched a little. “Though I can’t imagine those performers being capable of such an act.”
“Performers…?” Rusl muttered before shaking his head and rising. “Look, I don’t care who these people are, they took my son. I’m going to find them.”
The tall Hylian nodded, finally putting his blade behind his back. “I will assist you.”
“Great, wonderful,” the other Hylian muttered, brushing dust off his weathered clothes. “My name’s Abel. Who are you two?”
“Rusl.”
“I am known as the Fierce Deity.”
Rusl and Abel stared at the man.
“A deity.” Abel repeated flatly.
The ground rumbled, making the three men jump, and then Abel hissed, eyes widening. Rusl turned to find what he was looking at and saw a hideous metallic creature on six legs, purplish red lights emitting as it let out a strange screeching sound and scurried towards them. The sight of it made his skin crawl. He immediately grabbed his blade.
“Guardian!” Abel yelled. “Run!”
Rusl had no idea what this guardian was, but if this Abel fellow did he was inclined to take his advice, particularly given his head wound.
The so called Fierce Deity, on the other hand…
The massive man shot forward, blade at the ready as he cut clean through the creature’s closest two legs. It slipped to the ground, it’s massive torso digging into the earth, and it started to shine a red light on the man, a ticking noise accompanying it.
That didn’t bode well. Rusl started to run ahead to await him, Abel yelling behind him, when the other warriors cut its head clean off its body. The hulking creature sparked and squealed and fell into pieces.
Abel stared.
The warriors turned back to them. “The threat has been eliminated. We should proceed.”
The other two watched as the warrior walked between them and continued onward.
“Ok. Fine.” Abel finally said. “Fierce deity it is.”
There was a pause, and then Abel turned to him, a careful, analytical eye scanning from head to foot. “And what are you, then, Farmer Deity?”
Rusl gave him a flat look. “Just Rusl.”
Abel nodded before his eyes widened again. “Your—what happened to your ears?”
Rusl sighed heavily. “His eyes glow in the dark and you’re concerned about my ears?”
“I can’t imagine why you would mutilate them in such a way,” Abel muttered before shaking his head. “Never mind. Let’s just go.”

Title: I’d rather be oblivious
Category: Humor/Angst/UST/RST/Canon-Divergent/Post Dreamland II
Summary: Scully indulged in a little too much wine and chased her final drink with a shot of whiskey during dinner with her mother—but her mind was on anything but the meal, or the alcohol, as she shows up to Apartment 42.
Prompt: 46. “Your lips are so kissable!”
I just pretend that I'm in the dark I don't regret 'cause my heart can't take a loss I'd rather be so oblivious I'd rather be with you
-Abel Tesfaye/Ahmad Balshe/Max Martin/Oscar Thomas Holter (The Weeknd)
 11:00 PM
2630 Hegal Place
Alexandria, VA
“Shouldn’t have worn the heels,” Scully muttered after running both hands through her hair, smoothing it away from her flushed face as she groped for the right button inside of the elevator. “Shouldn’t have had that shot, either but here I am…talking to myself in the elevator.”
Tipsy might’ve been a bit of a reach but she was certainly feeling the alcohol and appreciated the cool breeze against her skin after getting out of the cab. Leaving her mother’s company had been awkward as Scully slid into the back of a cab instead of riding back to the apartment with her. Scully knew that she shouldn’t have indulged beyond the first glass but there was something compelling in it as she nodded at the offering over and over until she was listening to her mother’s weak attempt at naming at least five different eligible bachelors that she wanted to introduce her to. Scully had an entirely different man running through her mind, though, and the wine did little to assist in hiding it.
“Why am I here?” Scully was face-to-face with his apartment door, the metal finish of the numbers staring at her as she fidgeted in her unusually uncomfortable heels, wincing. “Really shouldn’t have worn the heels.”
Scully bit down on her lip and knocked, the echo filling the hall as she attracted the attention of the nosey neighbor across the hall. She glanced over in their direction only to catch an up-and-down stare, judging the length of her skirt as though it were that far off from anything else she’d ever worn before. Scully’s weak smile was met with an icy stare before they retreated into their own premises with the slamming of their front door. Scully sighed silently as she heard the string of profanities from inside of Mulder’s place as he maneuvered around after a resounding thud. Her eyes widened as she heard him cuss about a waterbed before flinging the door open as though he had been expecting anyone but her.
“Oh, hey Scully, I thought you’d be at home watching a movie after having dinner with your mother?” Mulder’s questioning tone matched the wandering eye as he couldn’t help but dip his field of vision to the blush-kissed cleavage peeking out from the top of a tight, teal blouse. “Everything okay?”
“That depends on your definition of the word okay,” Scully moved past him and inhaled a considerable whiff of his body wash as she saw the little droplets still collecting on his neck from wet hair. “Am I interrupting your night? I’m interrupting your night, aren’t I?”
“Scully, how glasses of wine did you drink tonight?” Mulder recognized that intoxicated gaze as one he had caught in his own mirror a time or three as he watched her lean against the counter.
“I had a couple,” Scully furrowed her brows and watched his hand as he pushed the door back into place, listening to the pronounced click of the pin as it gripped before meeting his gaze. “It was the shot of whiskey that might’ve been a bit…much.”
“At least you didn’t say tequila, because, that’s my MO,” Mulder smirked and went to the cupboard, retrieving a glass to fill with water as he watched her lashes flutter just a little bit while she licked her lips. “Am I in trouble or—”
“Did you think I wouldn’t find out about Kersh’s secretary?” Scully cut him off, brazenly squaring him up as she found the gumption to ask him for the first time.
“That was right out of left field,” Mulder’s eyebrows elevated as he took a step back while her gaze narrowed into a glare, the intent building with every breath. “I don’t know what you’re referring to, Scully, and I don’t know what Kersh’s secretary has to do with anything. That woman is a gossip and irritates the ever-loving hell out of me.”
“I’m sure she’s irritating, Mulder, but not enough to persuade you to keep your tongue out of her mouth, right?” Scully lit him up and pushed another button as she narrowed the gap between them, seething with frustration as she pushed a finger to his chest. “Did you hope that I wouldn’t find out or was that something you wanted?”
The glass met the countertop and left Mulder’s grip as he raised a single brow while scrutinizing Scully. Her actions couldn’t have been more perplexing. Her face couldn’t have been more alluring and it was driving him a little crazy as he listened to the interrogation as it poured from her mouth. Scully truly had become an enigma and Mulder had spent far too many nights trying to unfurl the mysteries of her heart without saying a single word or even glancing at her once. It was as though fate had given him a swift slap as the impromptu confrontation was a little more than he’d anticipated at this hour.
“Scully, you can’t be serious with this,” Mulder rolled his eyes, caught somewhere between confusion and irritation at the idea of that particular creature telling people she had been intimate with him in any way, shape, or form. “Why would I do that? Answer me that.”
“I don’t think like you so I couldn’t wager a guess but I do know that it’s absolutely mortifying hearing that your lips are so kissable from a group of women that didn’t realize I was walking through the room,” Scully pressed her lips together and held back the urge to slap him as her comment only earned the rubbing of the bridge of his nose while he chuckled into his palm. “It isn’t funny.”
“I really am in the Twilight Zone and this shit just keeps getting weirder,” Mulder rubbed his eyes and looked at her as she backed up to lean against the archway upright between the dining area and the living room. “Scully, I would hope I’d remember playing tonsil hockey with a blonde if I did something like that but I really don’t. What I’m wondering is why this upset you so much?”
“I’m not upset, Mulder. I just don’t want to be the last one to know that you’re acting like a complete moron with a co-worker who might decide to run around bragging about her exploits,” Scully knew she was lying through her teeth as she stared at the floor, refusing to look at him as he approached. “I don’t want to be known as the partner of the sloppy moron.”
“You’re a lot of things, but a liar isn’t one of them,” Mulder tilted her chin up with his index and heard her inhale sharply as he made eye contact with her. “You can’t just show up here smelling like your mother’s choice in wine and really cheap whiskey and expect me to believe that you’re not upset with the idea that a woman was bragging about me.”
“Mulder, don’t,” Scully swallowed hard and pushed his hand away from her face, lingering a little too long against his wrist as a final wave of intoxication surged through her veins. “It was a mistake coming here.”
Mulder was, undeniably, deflated as his shoulders slumped and his gaze wavered, moving to the spot just above her head on the wall as the air left his lungs. “You put forth all of this energy to come here, read me the riot act about something that I didn’t even do, and now you won’t even say, or do, what you actually want. Cards on the table, Scully.”
“What do you want me to say to you?” Scully’s eyes could’ve pierced a hole through the soul that had already been to hell and back as she studied his face, fixating on those hazel eyes. “That it should’ve been me that could have ample water cooler material over whether or not your bottom lip quivers when you kiss? Or if you’re a little handsier than the average male? Or that the shucking of sunflower seeds with your teeth and tongue definitely paid off?”
Mulder could’ve let her go on but the way her mouth moved and her bottom swelled was driving him mad as he leaned in close and drew a breath from hers as his teeth slid along the center of her bottom lip. The unintended moan that left her lips was sublime and well-earned as heat met an alcohol-laced tongue that was already yearning for him. Mulder guided her to her toes and slipped his hands around her waist as friction met fluidity, haze met clarity, and passion met electricity. He’d memorized the shape of her mouth and imagined his own perched perfectly against it; exploring the curvature until the breaths between them were synchronized and matched. It was everything that he’d ever dreamed of, right down to the feel of her fingers across the back of his neck and into his hair.
“Your lips really are so kissable,” Scully’s breathy utterance invited a grin across his face as his fingers played against the small of her back.
“I was really thinking the combination of wine and whiskey was going to be a turn-off but…I could go for that again,” Mulder licked his lips, tasting her kiss as a laugh reluctantly reverberated from her belly.
“I could say the same for you,” Scully leaned her head back, the tip of her tongue perched between her teeth. “Tequila breath.”
               “Guilty as charged.”

“Are you done yet?”
Abel grinned, eyes glinting mischievously. He looked up at the purple haired employee that’s been the bane of his existence for…two days. Ever since the first night he tried to get into the store. But two days is enough for Abel to know he wants him dead. Well, only after making his life a living hell.
“I’m just browsing through the store,” He said smugly, gesturing towards the games he purposely mixed around. “I haven’t found the right one yet. Do you recommend anything?” Abel knew damn well why he was here, but he couldn’t resist being the annoying customer just to mess with the employee. Levi stared at Abel for a few moments, arms crossed in annoyance. He blinked once, twice, before huffing.
“There’s a game called Ru-“
“Boring,” Abel interjected.
“Then maybe The Sev-“
“God no,” Abel leaned down to look at the games on the second shelf. “Your customer service here is horrible.” Levi’s jaw clenched, before he grinned with extreme agony.
“Then I’ll find someone else to help you inste-“
“No need, I want your help,” Abel said, staring Levi down. Their eyes met, one with ferocity and one with purely evil intent.
________________
Levi hated this guy.
No, hated is not strong enough, despised and…despised. He’ll have to look up synonyms for hated later, because he was fuming. FUMING. Who does this stupid normie think he is? Stupid, short, infuriating, little bastar-
“Hellooo,” And it was talking. Yes, it, because this… child, will NOT register in Levi’s mind as someone who can be recognized as anything more than an it. Was that disrespectful to that dumbass? GOOD. Levi will bask in that forev-
“Are you ignoring me now?” Abel tilted his head in false innocence, brows furrowed and a mocking smile on his face. And with this, Levi’s had enough. He was never polite before, so fuck it now.
“No, of course not kiddo,” he smiled, “I can always show you the games for kids, I’m sure they’re more age appropriate for a small boy like you.” He reached up to pat Abel’s hair like you would a cute, little puppy. Abel gaped, looking like a fish. And it almost made Levi pity him. Almost.
“I hope you choke,” Abel growled.
“Your feelings are reciprocated,” Levi sneered, “by a tenfold.”
________________
“Can you BELIEVE the audacity of that guy?” Abel laughed incredulously, hands waving around in the air to add to his rant. “I hate him! Every inch of me hates that asshole.” Solomon sipped his coffee calmly, humming in mild support of Abel’s anger.
“His name is Levi, and he’s always been nice to me,” He offered, shrugging. “We’re both fans of the same series and games, and he makes good theories.” Abel stared at Solomon, teeth clenched. He took a long, shaky inhale, squeezing his eyes shut.
“We,” Abel’s voice cracked in loathing, “do NOT like him anymore. You’re my friend, therefore if I don’t like someone, you don’t like them either.” Abel said with finality, and Solomon gave him a look. The kind a parent would give their 13 year old who’s raving about their crush that they deny liking. He takes a moment to go over all he’s done in life, wondering who decided to put him in the middle of an enemies to friends to lovers fanfiction.
“And guess what? He treated me like a child because he’s taller than me! I’m not even that short, I’m average! Average! How could a stupid idiot like that look down on me? Huh? His eye bags are darker than his heart!”
“Abel,”
“And Solomon, believe me when I tell you his heart is dark, it’s probably all dark, and twisty, and ruined. Because I’m sure he stomps out people’s dreams in his free time!”
“Abel,”
“I can’t believe he would have the audacity to even call me kiddo! Like I’m some dumb kid, sure I’m not the smartest person in the world but I do deserve some respect, y’know?”
“ABEL,” Solomon interrupted firmly before he sighed, setting his coffee down on the saucer. Abel shut his mouth quickly, looking a little guilty. “Didn’t you go there originally to buy a gift for Diavolo? If so, why are you still fighting him? Don’t you need his help?” This new, but not really new, just never thought of, information made Abel pause. Solomon…was kind of right. God, he HATED when Solomon was right, because he’s always right. Abel shoved his face into his arms with a long groan, he guessed he’d have to figure out how to get back into the employee’s…Levi’s, favor, even if his pride would suffer for it.
Solomon slid his coffee over to Abel with pity, and Abel peeked at him through his hands. His friend gestures toward the offering, and Abel sighed before taking it.
“I hate this idea,” Abel muttered.
“You’ll get over it,” Solomon smiled, and Abel gave him a blank stare.
“Shut up,”

Levi glanced up from his phone, the kid was still there. He was still staring him down like before, looking frustrated and conflicted. He considered throwing him a bone, but thought about it again, and decided he didn’t feel like being nice to him. Just when he went back to reading the TSL forum, Abel spoke up.
“I…” he forced out, looking way too anxious to be healthy. Levi looked up at him, studying him as he struggled pathetically. It was almost comedic, if Levi’s being honest.
“You…?” Levi drew out the word, raising his eyebrows bitterly. Abel took a deep breath, fixing Levi with a determined look.
“I’m…sorry,” Abel choked, looking away. “Sorry for being an ass. I just really, really, need your help, because I need to impress this guy since I’m this,” Abel squinted as he held two of his fingers close together, “this close to flunking out of this very good college, and he’s related to the dean, and I just figured out he likes TSL so I’m trying to find-”
“Wait, stop,” Levi put his phone down, “TSL? As in the game I tried to recommend you the other day but you said, and I quote, ‘God no’,”
“Yeah, that. I don’t even know what it stands for because this,” Abel waved his hands in a vague form of a circle, “this is NOT my field of expertise, if it was maybe sports, or Disney movies, or-”
Levi held up a hand to stop him from his panicked rants, looking him dead in the eyes. “You, the person who nearly decked me out of anger yesterday AND directly shunned TSL, an amazing game and series, are asking for my help? Besides, why me, I’m just a stupid shut in,” he muttered the last part out of habit. Abel bit his lip, considering what he should say next.
“I wouldn’t say nearly decked you, man,” he laughed, the awkward kind where you know you’re in trouble, but don’t want to address the issue, so you make a bad joke and laugh at it because you’re nervous. His fingers kept twiddling, a nervous habit of his that he’s been trying to break.
Levi made a drawn out ‘ah’ noise, before clicking his tongue and shaking his head, squinting his eyes. “So tell me, why exactly should I help you? And what would I get out of it? We loathe each other, don’t we?” He smiled, the fake customer service kind, before it dropped and he went back to his phone.
Abel inhaled deeply through his nose, trying to psych himself out of the stunt he was about to pull, before saying fuck it and taking Levi’s phone from his hand. This earned a loud shout from Levi, which alarmed a patron inside of the store. Abel looked at them and smiled apologetically. “Alright, wannabe K-Pop star, you are going to listen to me, or else I will throw this phone into the wall,” Abel threatened menacingly, a bitter smile crossing his face with a crazed look in his eyes, “So, I need you to help me. Desperately. Enough to ignore my ego and ask you for help, because I’ve noticed all of your stupid merchandise with TSL logos all over it,” His hand reached up to snag Levi’s collar and pull him down to eye level, “So, if you help me with this, I will compensate with whatever you want. WHATEVER. Money, school work, drugs for God’s sake,” Abel exhaled sharply, “So, are you going to help me?”
Levi looked at Abel with wide eyes, face red out of some combination of shame and anger. His lips were pressed together in a tight line. He considered calling the police for a minute, but he’s been through desperation this strong before, Sucre Frenzy tickets wait for nobody.
“Well?” Abel growled.
Levi kissed his teeth, swallowing the terrified lump in his throat, “If I do help you,” he grimaced, as if the thought genuinely pained him, “you will be dedicated to this. You will come to scheduled meetings, you will take quizzes, and you will watch every episode of the show with and without me,” Levi looked to the side at a passerby watching their interaction curiously, he himself a tad embarrassed, “And…can you let go of me? I’m pretty sure I’ve got the idea.”
Abel’s eyes followed Levi’s and stared where Levi was looking, releasing him immediately, clearing his throat. “Sorry…again,” he muttered, before hesitantly raising a fist. “Let’s finalize this,” Abel offered. Levi looked at it and furrowed his brows. Abel looked at Levi, then his hand, then back at Levi. Then he laughed out loud, really loud. Loud enough that startled the other patrons. Again. “You don’t know what a fist bump is?” He tried to hold in his laughter, but it just escaped him again in a soundless wheeze.
“Stop laughing at me, normie!” Levi huffed, frowning angrily. “If you couldn’t tell, I don’t get much social interaction.” Abel stifled his laugh before sucking in a breath, changing his fist into an open palm.
“Alright, then let’s-“ Abel snorted, “let’s shake on it.” Levi sneered and looked down at the hand furiously, before huffing and shaking it.
“We start tomorrow, 4 pm,” Levi said, “Now go, unless you’re going to buy something.“ He waved Abel off before adding, “Don’t forget, we still hate each other. Don’t get all buddy buddy with me, normie.” Abel’s grin dropped as he scoffed. “Besides, I don’t even think your tiny brain can even retain any of the complex information from TSL, so don’t make this pointless.”
“And to think we were starting to find some common ground,” Abel shook his head, before realizing something. “Oh my god, I can’t believe I forgot this,” He laughed, ”My name is Abel,” He introduced.
“Huh?” Levi looked up from his phone, confused for a moment, before realization dawned on him, “Oh, my name is Levi.” Of course Abel knew this, but it would be creepy if he told him that.
“Wish I never met you, Levi!” Abel called over his shoulder as he walked towards the door. He could see Levi flipping him off out of the corner of his eye, chuckling to himself.
He waited til Levi couldn’t see him anymore before letting his lips quirk up in a relieved smile, he wasn’t failing out of college today, and he sure as hell won’t keep being bitter enemies with Levi. Abel knew there’d be a challenge, considering they “hated” each other, but he also knew that he’d be going through a few days of “training”. And if you think Abel was just going to let Levi walk all over him, you’re wrong. Abel was stubborn, he preferred tenacious, but let’s call it like it is, stubbornness.
So at the end of the day, Abel thinks Levi might be his friend. If Solomon can do it, he can. Well, actually, that was kind of pushing things, so really at the end of the day if Solomon thinks Levi was nice, maybe all Abel needed to do was get past his hard shell exterior. And his incredibly thick skull.
And his horrible personality.
And his dumb face.
And HIM.
Fuck, this was going to be a long week.

The Crossing || Rebecca and Kaden
TIMING: Present LOACTION: Kaden’s Apartment PARTIES: @exorciseyourspirit and @chasseurdeloup SUMMARY: This mom empty
Kaden was sitting in his apartment, Abel in the crate he almost never used next to him, circle of salt around them both. He had an iron knife in one hand, a salt shaker in the other. Sure, the apartment was warded off already, but he’d thought that was the case before. He wasn't taking chances. Especially knowing that they were going to try and send her away tonight. There was no way she didn’t know. And no way this would go smoothly. So Kaden sat there in his stupid salt circle next to his whining confused dog and watched the door. Rebecca should be here any minute. He knew he should apologize, hell Theo told him as much, but he’d consider it after they got rid of the poltergeist. Maybe after her processed that, too. For now he was choosing to stay focused on the task. Emotions could come later. A knock on the door. He leapt up, moved his knife and salt shaker to the same hand and got the door, opening it wide for her to enter. “Let’s get this shit over with.”
Preparations were checked and double checked and triple checked. And then Theo had even insisted on checking, until Rebecca finally stood firmly outside the door, staring hard into the wood. It’’d been almost two years since she’d done an exorcism, let alone a summoning and banishment in one. Something curdled inside of her, a feeling-- but she pushed it aside, raised her hand, and knocked. The door swung open far too quickly and he was looking at her with far too much worry. “Yes,” she answered, stepping in beside him, “let’s.” She noted the salt circle on the floor, around the dog’s cage. “Is he secure?” she asked, glancing back. Having an animal in the room would make things difficult, but not ultimately harder. “We need as little room for error as possible. I’ll need a large space to set up the summoning circle, as well. And something of hers, if you’ve got it, to help.”
Kaden nodded. “He is. But I can move the crate to the bedroom if you think he’s not--” Safe. He didn’t want to know what his mother would potentially do to Abel. She always thought pets were pointless, would only tolerate the best hunting dogs. And in this state-- “Uh, yeah, I’ll move him while you get set up. Move whatever you have to,” he said pointing to the living room. He thought about telling her to be nice to any skulls around but bit his tongue. Not the kind of impression he wanted to make right now. He let the dog out of the crate and carried it to the bedroom. Gave Abel a deer antler and put more salt around the crate. Not taking any fucking chances with his dog. When he came back to the living room, he held out a necklace to her, silver bullet dangling at the end. “This was hers. Always wore it. Still wearing it in her spectral form, even.” If anything was going to work, it would be that. “Uh, how bad you think this could get?”
Rebecca didn’t have to answer, listening to him figure it out himself. When he was out of the room, she pushed the coffee table out of the way and began to lay down the papers she’d carefully sketched out, sticking them onto the floor. She figured he probably didn’t want her to draw all over his carpet, and by the time they activated, the magic would hold them together. She didn’t bother to explain there could be possible burn marks, depending on how easily his mother came. When he returned with the necklace, she took it gingerly. Surely, it meant something to him if he’d kept it. “Thank you,” she said, wrapping it around her wrist next to her red Kabbalah bracelet. Paused. “There’s a reason exorcists retire early,” was all she said, knowing he would understand. He was, after all, a hunter. “Stand in your salt circle. She’ll likely go for you once she realizes she can’t touch me.” Poised herself at the head of the circle. “Ready when you are.”
Kaden’s eyes stayed fixed on the necklace as she placed it around her wrist. So much of him felt like he shouldn’t care, shouldn’t care so much about his mother or her possessions at this point. Still did. “Yeah, I figured as much,” he said. He knew all too well about the toll this sort of work put on people. And he figured it was just as hard for an exorcist to walk away from fighting the fight as it was for a hunter. Stupid as it was for them to keep throwing themselves in the line of danger. With a sigh, he nodded and stepped back into his salt circle a bit away from the papers laid on the ground. His iron knife gripped in his hand, he took a deep breath and braced himself for this. This whole time, through all the torment, he hadn’t had to see her or even directly hear her for the most part. The last time he’d seen his mother was when he threw that coin over the side of Hanging Rock. He had a feeling this would be much different. “Do it,” he said with a small nod.
Rebecca drew in a deep breath. She could do this. She focused, concentrated on the bracelet on her arm, the dagger at her hip. She used the pull of the silver bullet necklace to search through the ether for his mother’s spirit. And when she was ready, she opened her eyes, chanting quietly in Hebrew. Her voice was deep, strong. The papers on the floor began to glow where she had marked them with paint. Harsh and yellow, pouring out light. The room shook with the force as Rebecca reached through the ether, searching for the soul connected to the necklace. Finally, she found out. Gripped, and pulled. The resistance was expected-- the strength, not so much. Rebecca grit her teeth, pulling her to them. Lauren Langley’s form flickered in the circle. She didn’t waver, even as an anger filled the room. And, finally, the woman was there, glowing with a light that matched the ruins beneath her.
Kaden could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he waited. He tried to concentrate on his breathing, but they kept getting shorter and shorter. It wasn’t so much that he didn’t trust Rebecca, she sure looked like she knew what she was doing and he could read the experience coming off her, he just wasn't sure he was ever going to be ready for this confrontation. His brow furrowed a moment as it looked like Rebecca struggled. Shit. Was it going wrong already? Leave it to his mother to make this shit difficult. He thought he might sigh in relief when he saw his mother's form. Instead his breath caught in his throat. She looked angrier than the last time he saw her. Much. Putain.
Lauren had done her best not to get dragged into some surely half rate exorcist’s summoning circle if she could avoid it. Apparently she could not. Rage boiled deep through her as she appeared in Kaden’s apartment, still in disarray from the other night. If she still cared, she might be proud to see him wielding an iron knife while standing in his little salt circle. Still he looked petrified, almost shrunken. Certainly no son of hers. “I see you’re trying to be rid of me, mon petitou,” she said, voice laced with venom, ignoring the exorcist across from her. “I’m sure she’s only as good as your standards seem to be lately.”
Rebecca didn’t often engage with spirits once they were in her circle, but something told her Kaden, and perhaps Theo, might appreciate the words this time. The circle was holding her tight in place, but the real trouble would come when she started the exorcism. Sending away a poltergeist, not just banishing them, was painful and hard, and Lauren was sure to resist, more so than even from the summoning. “He must have pretty high standards, then,” she quipped, before slowly pulling out the emblazoned dagger on her side. Iron, engraved, a hilt to match her bracelet. “I’d say sorry, but I’m really not. You’ve caused your last wound, Langley,” she said stiffly, before drawing in a breath, and letting it go as she spoke the words, low and heavy and demanding. Bracing herself for the resistance she was sure to meet.
Lauren wasn’t going down so easily. Whoever this exorcist was, she didn’t care. She was a Langley and a DuBois, she was descended from centuries of hunters. She would protect her line, whatever the cost. Even if that meant pruning the family tree. As soon as this exorcist started chanting, Lauren called on all the anger festering inside her. The room began to tremble, slowly at first, then building. The furniture scraped against the floors before raising up, shaky and rattling into one another. Lights flashed in and out, flickering and twitching. “This just proves it, Kaden. You’re rotten to the core. Filth. Just like that fae of yours. You will never be a Langley ever again. You hear me? You can cast me out but you’ll never forget my words, never!” she bellowed.
Kaden figured he should just stand there. Not interrupt or engage unless absolutely necessary. But as the room shook, he just wanted to turn and run. His mother was somehow even worse than he’d imagined. Shadowy, bristling with rage, and still somehow a part of like how he remembered her. Just on her worst days. The days he failed in training. Or tried to ask questions. Or spent too much time with the few friends he was able to see. All those times he stood there and bit his tongue, took his punishment silently and raged about it later when he was alone. No. Not this time. “Rotten? You tried to fucking kill me! What kind of mother does that?! Did you ever even lo--” The word caught in his throat. “Was I just some fucking prop for your precious legacy?”
The power of the ghost before her was pushing through Rebecca’s strength, reaching through the circle. Wind billowed throughout the room. Furniture hovered, the walls rattled. The two were yelling at each other and Rebecca had to cling to her own voice, raising it louder to try and drown out the anger. “Kaden!” she said when she had the chance to pause, “Do not engage her! Now get over here! I need your help-- your power!” She snapped, pointing to the spot she’d marked next to her. She’d hope she wouldn’t have needed to tap into him, but Lauren was fighting harder than she’d hoped she would. Rebecca’s arms felt weak, and she felt something reaching up inside of her. Dammit, she didn’t have the energy to fight both of them off. She needed Kaden now. “Hurry!”
When Rebecca shouted his name, Kaden realized how fucking stupid he was, yelling at a poltergeist. But he’d heard so much second hand by now, it just-- he needed to say it. He needed to yell back for two seconds. Still he sniffed and pushed his emotions back down. His mother was still yelling, the same shit she’d been saying to everyone else who could hear her, he was sure. No answers, no comfort, nothing to make him feel better about any of this. Why he’d hoped for that, he didn’t know. He took his place next to Rebecca, not entirely sure how this part worked. He’d never had the misfortune of witnessing a poltergeist exorcism til now.
Rebecca held out her other hand to Kaden, prompting him to take it. When he did, she immediately drew upon the well of power that sat in every hunter. She remembered the way Theo’s energy felt, and it lurched inside of her, the feeling of it, fighting off the memories. Something clawing for the power at the back of her mind. No, fuck, no. Eyes flickering for a moment. He came out just long enough to taste Kaden’s power, to taste her power, to interrupt her words. To falter the exorcism. And even after she shoved him back down, she could still feel him. She turned, letting go of Kaden’s hand. “In the circle!” she shouted, shoving against him, but her body moved stiffly. Give me his power, “The salt circle!” But it was too late. The binding circle was broken, and Lauren Langley was out.
Lauren had been pushing her powers at the edge of the circle from the moment she was dragged in there. When she felt the split second break, she smirked and slid out  of the exorcist’s trap. “Looks like I was right, again, Kaden.” He started to head to the salt circle, at least he was trying to obey someone here. It wouldn’t work, though. “This is far from over,” she told him as she slipped into his skin. He fought it more than the Harlow brat did, it wasn’t as easy as possessing a medium, but it hardly mattered. She had control of the body. First thing’s first was to get rid of the exorcist trying to cut her time short before she was properly repaid for all she’d done for son. “Remind me again about your standards,” she said as she reached over to grab Rebecca’s wrist where her silver necklace hung. She could feel the hunter strength in this body, a far cry from Blanche’s. She wasn't shy about using it. She went to take the necklace “I believe this is mine.” She had every intention of twisting her arm around, breaking her wrist, something fun, when she was interrupted.
Kaden didn’t know what happened, but Rebecca seemed to stagger and dropped his hand. When he turned, he blacked out. No. He was there. But not in control. What was-- No. His mother. Taking his body. No-- No. He caused this with inaction. Not again. He saw his hand reach for the necklace and he pushed it down and away; tried to throw himself to the ground. He felt his knees buckle and his body waver but she was still there. It was still there, fighting back tooth and nail.
Rebecca jerked away as fast as she could. “Give me his power!” she said in a foreign voice, the first time he’d used his own voice through her mouth. She clasped her hands over her mouth for a moment, struggling to keep him contained. He struggled against her, tearing at her insides as well. She cried out. “Let me help you,” he said inside of her. She could feel him grinning. “Let me consume her. It’ll be so easy. So fast.” he reached out, using her hand, the arm with his brand on it. It glowed. Her palm made contact with his body and it burned. It seared, steam wafting from where they’d made contact. Fuck, no. Fuck. “Get out of him!” Rebecca shouted. “Get out of him, or I will destroy you!”
Looks like her son had more bite to him than he’d been demonstrating recently. Lauren stomped her foot before pushing the body back to standing. Then she heard the unnatural voice that radiated from the exorcist and she took a half step back. Her rage gave way for terror for just a flash. “What are you?” she asked, eyes wide. She didn’t get an answer, just pain, pain searing through her as the exorcist tried to force her from his body. “No! You’ll destroy me anyway. I still need to--”
Even from the back of his own mind, Kaden felt the pain rip through him. It was enough, it could be enough if he just pushed. His body toppled, collapsed in a pile of limbs. But it was his again. For now. “It’s me!” he shouted. “She’s out, she’s--” He almost said gone. But that wasn’t right. She was still there just not inside of his body. For now. It was only a matter of time. He needed Rebecca to hurry up. Even if he made it to the salt circle, it was broken; line split by the scuff of a shoe.
Rebecca stumbled back when Kaden’s shouted. It was him again. She forced her hands away, took all the energy she had, and shoved the Dybbuk back. I’ll never let go. But she ignored him. She needed to finish this. Drawing in a deep breath, she brandished her dagger again, gripping the hilt. “This is gonna hurt,” she said to Kaden, knowing he would accept the pain. Because it was what they did. It was what Theo would do. She nodded once before opening her mouth and bellowing the rest of the exorcism, calling on the energy of the universe to draw the spirit back into it. To take her away. To dispose of her anger and her soul and to recycle her back into the ether. Speaking in her ancient people’s language, feeling the power swell through her, watching as the spirit was torn from Kaden’s body. A tinge of jealousy in her heart. If only it were that easy.
Kaden didn’t need to be told it would hurt. Nothing in his life came pain free. Why would this? He nodded and braced himself, but of his countless near death experiences, not one could prepare him for this. He could feel his mother’s spirit clawing into him, trying to hold on with every bit of rage and vice she had. He could also feel Rebecca’s words drawing it out. If he could be torn from the inside out he was sure it felt like this. The flashes of thoughts he could manage through the blistering pain were all hers, the last ones he’d hear. You’re not my son, deserter, traitor, and filthy disgrace all rang through his head while he screamed and crumbled to the ground. The anger felt like daggers as it was pulled out from him. Every drop of rage like another pin prick. He kept wailing and clawed his fist into the ground, fighting to stay grounded, to keep himself there while she went away. When it was over, he folded over his hands and tried to breathe. The memory of the pain was like an aftershock he couldn’t shake right away. Bile rose up in his throat and he gulped it back. Not now. Not yet, at least. Maybe when she left. “Is it… Is it over?” he asked, shaking a little as he leaned on his hands. “What happened? You--” he looked up at her, trying to figure out what went wrong, hoping a glance could explain it all.
The world always stilled just before it happened. Rebecca, momentarily frozen in her own little pocket, watched as the spirit of Lauren Langley, full formed and floating above her son, glowered down at them with angry eyes. Such ire. She wondered if it had always been there, or if her decades as a spirit had multiplied the anger she’d felt in her life. She wondered if Theo would ever look at her like this. And then reality snapped back, and her spirit disintegrated before her eyes, and the room was still once again. Furniture was upturned and askew, the floor was covered in ash and paper shreds, a scorch mark from where the vengeful spirit had been summoned and let her anger spill over. The salt circle broken, scattered. Kaden’s voice was small, unsteady, and she looked down at him, shaking with her own exhaustion. She held out a hand to him, the brand on her arm burning. “Spirits often think they’re stronger than us,” she said quietly, “they’re wrong, of course.” She helped him stand. “You did good.”
Kaden took a moment to make sure all the bile was back down before taking her hand to stand up. He really hated how apt Blanche’s stupid phrase was, but he did in fact feel like used jell-o all over again. “Thanks. Didn’t feel like--” He cut himself short and looked in her eye. “Thanks,” he told her sincerely. Even if he could finally feel the full weight of what he’d just done starting to creep in. The tightness in his chest, the lump in his throat. God, he was so sick of feeling this raw and juts hurt and empty. He could hear Abel in the other room barking his head off. Probably had been almost the whole time, but there was too much going on for him to notice. He breathed a small sigh of relief knowing he was alright. He was sure Abel was going to love having a salty, sobbed ruff again tonight. Kaden took a glance around the room, unsure what to do next. “I-- How do you normally, uh, clean up? All this?”
He looked worn. And shitty. And Rebecca knew that, even though it was over, it would never really be over. She knew how words from loved ones hung in the air and stung. She knew how losing someone, even if they weren’t cruel and unjust, burned in the back of your mind. She understood. It wasn’t something to be solved in a night or in one exorcism. Without the ever present looming of his mother, surely now he would be facing the consequences of his actions. And of hers. The trail of destruction she’d surely left because that was the way of the world. That was the fate of all spirits who linger for too long and took too much. She turned to face the room, a disaster in its own right. Sighing, she looked over her shoulder back at him. “Tediously,” was all she answered.

A Bloody Struggle Part 1
Summary: After over two years the Ericson Pirates are forced to face the Delta Pirates once again after they have captured one of the crew.
Read on A03:
Louis felt his heart rate quicken as they made their way to the enemy ship. He couldn’t believe he had let one of his crew get taken. It had all happened so fast. The crew had split up into different pairs when they went into town. Willy and Mitch had decided to check out the local bakery in hopes of finding some sweet bread or other treats that the crew rarely got. That’s when Lilly’s crew ambushed them. The struggle was over in mere minutes. Mitch had defended Willy from the onslaught of pirates, telling him to run back and get the others. But by the time that the crew got there he was already gone. All that remained in the streets was splashes of blood.
Luckily they were able to track him following the trail that Lilly’s crew had so sloppily made, most likely due to Mitch’s attempts to flee. It took them several hours to reach the location where the Delta ship stood hovering over the seas as if it was the very master of it. Louis stood by Clementine who was at the helm. His body was shaking even more now that they had stopped by the Delta’s ship. Immediately the Ericson crew waved a white flag back and forth as the two ships slowly crept towards each other. It was only when they stood side by side that Louis spoke.
“I want to parley with Lilly.” His voice quivered even though he had tried his best to cover his ever-growing fear.
The enemy crew didn’t move. All of them glared at the Ericson Pirates with menacing and heartless looks. Their hands were already placed on their scabbards. The tension in the air grew larger by the second, causing some of the Ericson Pirates to cautiously move their hands down, ready to strike at a moment’s notice. It felt like an eternity had passed until suddenly the Delta crew parted, giving way for their captain Lilly to stride forward.
“So, let’s hear it then. What do you have to say?” Lilly’s voice was calm and collected, her eyes stared directly into Louis’, piercing them with her overwhelming aura.
“All we want is Mitch back. The crew member you stole.” Louis carefully took a few steps forward to which the Delta pirates started to unsheath their blades until Lilly rose a hand motioning them to stop.
“Why should I do that?” Lilly looked at the Ericson Pirates, her eyes studying each and every one of them. “What could you possibly have to offer in exchange?”
“What would you want? Name it and it’s yours as long as Mitch comes back to us unharmed.” Louis’ voice was firm as he maintained eye contact with her.
“Well, I’m afraid we can’t come to a deal then,” Lilly gave a small sigh as she shook her head.
“What? Why not?” Louis’ voice cracked.
“Because I have what I want, the key to what I’ve been searching for.” Lilly’s smile grew when she walked forward, stopping by the side of her ship.
“Besides,” Lilly casually tossed something to the other ship. “I can’t return him unharmed.”
The crew looked down at the item she had tossed. A finger bounced off the deck, rolling around before stopping by Brody’s feet. The pinky finger laid there bloody and wrinkled. Brody's face twisted in horror. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Her heart pounded in her ears while countless questions consumed her mind. That’s not Mitch’s… is it? Brody’s eyes shot up with burning rage, glaring at Lilly. “What the fuck did you do?!?”
Lilly gave a small smirk back to Brody before her face twisted in fake, mocking sadness.
“It was a small but tragic price.”
The Ericson Pirates' faces twisted in hatred. Each of them right then and there wanted nothing more than to break their code and kill the enemy captain before them.
Violet’s voice was coated in a thick, venomous hatred as it rang out. “Listen here, you fucking psycho bitch! You give him back or else-”
“Or else what? It’s clear we can’t parley. You have nothing that I want. So I guess there is only one thing left to do.” Lilly lifted up her hand, signaling her crew to attack. Grappling hooks flew across the sky, hooking onto the Ericson ship. The sea echoed the soft clang of the grappling hooks as they embedded into the wood of Ol’ Kickass. It only took seconds for the two ships to be tied together.
“Everyone! Prepare to fight!” Louis shouted, turning back to his crew and throwing out his arm.
Louis instantly went to the cannons with AJ. The ship was slowly getting taken over by the enemy. Wave after wave of cutthroat pirates invaded the ship, each of them desperate for the taste of blood. Ruby, Aasim, Omar and Marlon drew their weapons and began to push back, hoping to give Louis and AJ time to load the cannons and give the crew a fighting chance. The rest of the crew swung over onto Lilly’s ship. As they landed they were greeted by a wave of enemies. Their twisted smiles and rapiers shone in the light, challenging any of the Ericson pirates to dare cross them.
“Prisha! Go with Willy and Brody and get Mitch!” Violet dodged an incoming attack, sending a swift punch that dug deeply into her enemy’s gut as she fended off the enemy crew.
“There’s no way in hell I’m leaving you!” Prisha’s voice was firm but fear lingered within it. She rushed forward and unsheathed her blade, using the hilt to knock out a pirate.
“We don’t have time to argue. The sooner we get Mitch, the sooner we can get the hell away from this shit! I’ll buy you guys time.” Violet’s fist connected with an enemy pirates’ jaw, smashing it to pieces before she looked back at her lover. “Now go!”
Prisha froze. She wanted to disagree, to stay by Violet’s side and help deal with the opponents before her. But even though it was hard to accept, it was the best plan. She turned sharply on her heel, grabbing the other two. The three of them sprinted through the chaos of the Delta ship and made their way to the lower decks.
Sophie let out a deep breath, her dual blades knocking out the two enemies in front of her. She had to make sure that she stopped any enemy in her way. She was one of the few crew members that blocked the way from their enemies reaching the others. A pirate ran forward, giving a mighty war cry while he swung his cutlass towards her. Sophie easily sidestepped him, hitting him with the butt of her sword in his gut before knocking him out. There were still so many of them, but she was making progress. She was about to run off to the starboard side of the Delta ship to take out a swarm of enemies trying to make their way to Ol’ Kickass when Sophie froze.
Standing before her was Minnie, her cavalry saber drawn at the ready. A look of utter hate was plastered across her features. Her eyes held nothing within but a husk of her former self.
“Minnie!” Sophie called out as she slowly walked towards her.
Minnie’s eyes widened in confusion. “Sophie?”
Her face seemed to regain some of its life, a look of relief and disbelief washing over her face before she shook her head, her face contorting in frustration. “You’re not her! This is a trap!” Minnie yelled, lunging forward. Her blade jabbed towards Sophie whose rapiers blocked it. The clash of metal rang out through the ship as the two sisters were locked in a desperate battle.
The chaos of fighting slowly consumed both ships as Violet fought the enemy before her. There was only some much stamina and strength behind her fighting and sooner or later she would run out. Letting out a shaky breath, she regained her composure. All of a sudden a jagged blade made from bone came from behind her. With only a few seconds to react, Violet took out her dagger, barely blocking the attack. Her dagger slowly slid against her enemy’s sword and her eyes fell upon her attacker. Abel.
He gave a twisted animalistic smile. Violet took a step back, putting her weight on her left foot and kicking Abel in the stomach with her right. Digging in deep. He slid back with a pained groan. Taking the opportunity, Violet ran forward and landed a punch in his gut. Her iron-studded glove connected with a slight crunch. She had definitely broken something within him. Abel reacted right away, his blade clipping her shoulder, its jagged teeth tearing at her flesh as she sidestepped. Violet felt her heart pounding. When she stepped back, the blood slowly trickled from her shoulder. The burning sensation pierced through her entire body.
“That’s all you got? I guess that’s what you get for trying to walk the higher path,” Abel’s voice was cocky as he strolled forward. “But lucky for me, I’m not afraid to kill!” Abel’s eyes lit up with excitement, swiftly jabbed his blade towards Violet. Violet dodged the attack, her hand immediately grabbing his arm before punching it. Another disturbing cracking sound emitted from it, causing him to let out a cry of pain as his sword fell to the ground. Her fist quickly found his stomach again, adding to his list of injuries.
“You little bitch!” He yelled. In one fluid movement he used the back of his hand against her face, causing her to stagger back. Her face stung with pain from the impact. When Violet finally regained her balance, she saw his blade come crashing down towards her only for it to get caught in the bannister of the ship as she dodged it. But Abel was far from done. His hands immediately caught her and tossed her towards the edge of the ship. He pinned her against the side of the ship, slowly choking her out as his grin grew bigger and bigger. Every second made his eyes dance with more joy. Violet felt herself struggling for air, looking around desperately for a way to break free. She needed to breathe. Her limbs flailed around, trying to get out from her potential death that was looming over her.
“You know what's wrong with your little group?” Abel hissed in her face, his stench swirling around in the air. “You’re weak! Pathetic little kids trying to play at being pirates.” His voice was twisted with disgust as he pressed down harder, his eyes filling with happiness with each second that he got to watch her struggle.
Violet made one last desperate attempt to kick him between the legs. The blow landed with a sickening thud, causing him to groan and fall back. Violet coughed, her hands reaching up to gently touch her throat as she tried to catch her breath. Abel let out a vicious scream, his body lunging towards her. Violet’s eyes widened in fear before she rolled out of the way. Turning around quickly, she grabbed his legs and flipped him off the edge of the ship. His body fell into the sea with a loud splash while he cursed furiously.
That was close. Violet stood there catching her breath through wheezes and pained coughs. Her eyes caught the sight of her enemy, watching Abel try to swim with one arm. He kept bobbing up and down in the water, grasping for anything as his eyes filled with terror. If he dies, he dies. Violet turned without a second thought, leaving Abel to his fate, sprinting off to rejoin the fight.
The fighting had calmed down a bit on the Ericson ship. Louis and AJ were using the swivel cannons that Mitch and Willy had designed, slowly taking out the enemy’s cannons in hopes that they could stop their ship from being sunk. Louis looked at Lilly’s ship, his eyes filled with concern as he watched his crew fight. Each of them struggled with their opponents, trying to stop the Delta pirates from getting the upper hand. There were far too many enemies over there for only a portion of his crew to handle.
“Aasim! Ruby! They need help over there!” His voice rang out across the ship. He really hoped that they could hear him. Luckily they had. Ruby and Aasim knocked out the last enemy they were fighting and immediately went over to the other side. As soon as they landed they stood back to back in hopes of increasing their chances of winning. Aasim’s first opponents appeared, two large pirates running towards him.
“Ruby, get down!” Aasim shouted. She followed his instructions, bending forward. Aasim laid his back against hers, using both of his legs to kick down the two enemies. The two enemies stumbled backwards, falling onto the deck.
“Aasim! Spin me!” Ruby instructed. Aasim quickly grabbed her arms and interlocked them with his own. Then he swung his wife around, giving her enough momentum to knock out the pirates before her.
Their fight continued this way, both of them taking turns helping the other attack. One would kick out an enemy’s leg before the other swiftly knocked them out. Each of them tried their best to take out enemies while also defending the other. Many times Ruby’s sword blocked an attack meant for Aasim and vice versa. With each attack they helped whittle down the enemy’s numbers. It seemed like the battle was slowly turning in the Ericson Pirates’ favor. Louis let out a sigh of relief before he felt the ship shake as a crash rang out. David and Dorian had made their way onto Ol’ Kickass.
Louis felt a chill run down his spine when he looked over at the two fearsome enemies. This fight was far from over.

Hard to love - part 3
title- hard to love - 1, 2
paring- Sam x reader (female)
word count- 2.6k
warnings- fluff, swearing and smut - think that’s everything
a/n- i am not the best at writing smut, sorry about that. I’m really enjoying this series, thinking it will probably have 1 or 2 parts left  in it.  Also changed over to writing in second person and i like it so future parts will be in this style. Probably a few mistakes here and there.
MAIN MASTERLIST | REQUEST OPEN | series masterlist
Tumblr media
Months passed  from the last time you saw from Sam, a few calls here and there but not much else. You hoped it was a good thing, but there was a part of you that missed him.
Spending the whole time  hunting like always.  it was all  the same old thing over and over. Overpriced motel rooms, fast food and drinking until you fell asleep.
You were a few miles outside Jackson hole, Wyoming when a phone began to ring. You pulled a bag from the floor and looked through it with one hand on the wheel.
"Y/N?" Sam asked making you smile right away. "I know I haven't called that much but I need your help" Sam said with pain in his voice.
Your smile died a little when you heard how tired he sounded. " Has something happened with you and Dean?" you ask pulling in at the side of the road.
"It is about Dean. This is going to sound crazy but he has the mark of Cain and it's changing him. He's had in for a while and I should of told you sooner but I didn't want to bother you".
"Wait the actually mark of Cain? Like Cain and Abel from the bible?"  you asked, watching cars go by.
"yeah but it's changing him, he was a demon a while back but we cured him but it's happening again" You could picture him running his hand through his hair.
"I'm sorry, you can cure a demon?" you asked shocked. "This is a lot of information to take it" you laughed.
"I know it is but I was hoping you might know something about it with your lore background" Sam sighed through the phone.
"I know a bit about it but I'd have to dig through some books. From what I remember the mark protects the wearer. If anyone tries to harm whoever has it, something much worse happened to them but I'm guessing that’s not the case here" you said sadly.
"It protects him in a way, just makes him stronger but nothing like what you said" he sighed again.
"I can come to you I you like, see the mark for myself. I might remember it from my research" you offered.
"That would actually be great. I'll text you the address" Sam sound relived that you offered which made  you feel happier.
After a long 10 hour drive you arrived in Lebanon. The road you were driving down was cut off suddenly, sure you had the wrong place you phoned Sam.
"I'm just checking this isn't a plan to kill me? I'm where you said but it's just trees and an old building" You look around making sure you didn't miss anything.
"No, you have the right place. I'll come and find you" Sam said chuckling. "It's hidden that’s all".
A few more moments pasted before Sam met you, He looked almost the same. He looked more worn down. He smiled and you smiled.
"Sammy" you sighed out with a caring tone. "I missed you" you didn't mean to say it but the smile he gave you, made you happy you did.
"I missed you too" he wrapped his arms around you and held you. "I'm glad you came. Just don't mention anything to Dean about why you're here " you both drew apart.
"What should I tell him?" you asked.
"Say your needed a place to stay" he said walking ahead. When you got to a door in the he paused, "Wait until you see how many books we have".
The Bunker as  Sam called it was amazing. All kinds of books lined the walls. So much lore.
"Dean, she's here" Sam called from behind you. Soon after  Dean  came into the main room. "remember to be nice. I'm sorry Y/N but I need to run out to get something" Sam said. He touched your shoulder for a moment and then left.
"Sam?" you called out but he had already left. You turned and looked down at Dean from the stair way. "What the hell was that about?".
"Don't ask me, he's been acting funny recently" Dean shrugged and sat down with a beer. "You want one?"
"Sure" you walked down the stairs to join Dean, "I hope you don't me crashing here, Sam said it wouldn't be a problem".
"Narr, I don't mind" Dean said with a grin. When he lifted his you caught sight of an weird scar on his arm. His felt you looking and pulled his sleeve up some more. "Mark of Cain" he said it with no care.
"You don't sound like you care" you laugh, drinking from your own beer.
"I'm sure Sam has already told you about it, might as well get a good look" Dean drank more as you watched him carefully.
"He mentioned something but I would think it would be a bigger deal" You shrug and drink the rest of your drink in one go.
"I've dealt with worst, whatever happens, happens. Nothing I can do" Dean seemed too carefree.
"you could fight it" you try to match his attitude but give up in the end. "hope you don't mind but I think I'm going to head to bed" You swing your legs to stand up. "Do I just pick a room or?".
"just pick any empty room. Help yourself to anything in the kitchen"  Dean pointed down a hallway to directed you where thing was.
"Thanks" You smiled before walking ahead.
"One more thing Y/n" Dean called, making you turn around. "Sammy mentioned what you guys got up to , when we were apart".
Your blood ran cold. "Just what did he tell you?" you asked with ice in your voice.
Dean took note of how fast you changed, "Just that you worked together and had a moment before you left. He's already wiped. Just don’t mess him around." Dean laughed.
"Oh, right" The ice in your blood stopped as you carried on.
                                                   ///
You had chosen a room as far back as you could. Sadly none of the rooms had windows , it gave the place a timeless feel.
Your encounter with Dean still went through your mind. You were so scared that Sam had told Dean about your past. It took so much to even tell Sam.
It would of ruined everything you felt for him if he did.
Throwing your bag onto the bed you started to get ready for bed. Sam was god knows where and here you were stuck with his brother who you barely knew. You rummaged through you bag looking for something to sleep in. right at the bottom was Sam's shirt, you had shamelessly kept it since that day.
It needed a wash so you pushed it aside and picked out a different one with some shorts. Surprisingly the bed was rather comfy. It wasn't long before you were fast asleep. Sometime later you were woken up by movement in the room, slowly reaching under your pillow to grab the knife you always kept there and waited until whoever it was got closer.
When you felt them sit on the end of the bed, you jumped into action. Catching them by surprise, they fell back. your legs wrapped around their waist as you held them down.
"Hey! Y/N! Its Sam" he held his hands up, the light was so low you couldn't hardly make him out. "I was just checking up on you".
Staying where you were, you dropped the knife to the side. "Don't you know you shouldn't seek up on a sleeping hunter?" you  asked hitting his chest.
"didn't think you would be that fast" he laughed looking up to you.  "How did things go when I left?".
You exhaled but ended up laughing, "okay. Had a beer with your brother. Even saw the mark".
That's when you realised you were still sat on top of him, he must of as well because you both went awkward and moved part.  Sam was sat strangely, you were lent against the wall at the head of the bed.
"did you remember anything?" Sam asked.
"Honest I think we're looking for a spell, it dates back to the beginning. I can look more into it but I don't have much hope"  you sigh, sad you couldn't give him a better answer.
"That's what I was afraid of. " he sighed and lay down on the bed.
"I'll stay as long as you want. Do what I can to help" you moved slightly. "if you want me too".
Sam also moved closer, you were facing each other now. "I'd like that".  Your eyes stayed on each other. Finally alone you both let everything go , for one moment.
One hand trailed up your arm. The other ran along your cheek, then over your lower lip. You placed your arms around his neck to hold him closer.
His free arm hooked around your waist and pulled you closer so you could sit on his lap. Your whole body melted when you were close enough to feel his breath against your skin.
He pressed his face into your neck. You exhaled and savoured the feeling. Your eyes fluttered shut when he started to kiss your jawline.
Then he made his way up to your lips. Your first kiss had been soft and sweet. A melancholy feeling taken over after the two of you parted. It was a relief to be in his arms again.
His tongue slid along your lower lip seeking entrance.  You deepened the kiss allowing him access. Kissing Sam sent shock waves through your body.
He moved so you were laying on the bed and he was on top of you. He started to kiss his way down your neck again, nibbling here and there as he went. When he reached the collar of you top he pulled back and look down at you.
His hazel eyes were dark with longing, "Do you want this?" he voice was ragged from holding his breath.
You looked up at him, his hair falling down partly covering his face. You nodded and swallowed  hard, "I want you, Sam and whatever it involves"
His smile lit up the small room. He didn't wait another moment before he started to kiss you again. His hands went under your top and felt your bear stomach. You started to unbutton his flannel shirt.
Spreading your legs apart so he could move in closer and so you could hold him in place. Taking a moment you threw your top to the floor so you were left in a bra and shorts.
Silently you wished you were wearing an nicer one, but Sam didn't care. His eyes tailed your upper body. "You're beautiful, y/n"   .
"Sam" you exhaled with a huge smile. You couldn't keep yourself from his touch anymore. You finished with his flannel shirt and pushed it off his  broad shoulders.
You ran your hands down his chest, feeling every muscle and old scar. "And you said I was beautiful" you smile lightly as you graze up at him.
His smile was like a drug and  you couldn't get enough. He kiss you again, "Wait" he pulled away suddenly, "we need protection".
You look at him and laugh slightly. "well, I don't have any"
He laughed as well, "I think we have some in the bathroom"
"Sam Winchester you do amaze me" you joked.
"I'll be right back" he smiled slyly and left the room.
You sat up on the bed and thought through what was happening and what you were about to do. Sam was so different from anyone you had met before. In the moment when you waited for Sam to return, you realised you hadn't been with someone in months. The last time anything happened was a week before you helped Sam with his case.
Sam came back into the room with a condom in his hand. "Nearly ran into Dean" he said with thankful grin.
"Luckily you didn't" you opened your arms, "Now come back and hold me". He did need to be asked twice and told his place in between your legs.
Sitting up you undid the back of your bra, letting it fall off. One of his hands cup a breast and traced over a nipple.  You held your breath as he took it in his mouth. You gripped hard on to him.
He pushed your breast slight apart so he could see your tattoo more clearly, he had a matching one on his chest.
Running your hand through  his hair as he let your nipple pop out of his mouth. He laid you back down onto the bed, and kissed his way down to your centre.  His figures played with the drawstrings of your shorts.
His eyes went to yours for consent. You nodded allowing him to pull them down along with your panties. He worked on taking off his own pants, they joined the rest of your clothes on the floor. His figures slowly touched the scar on your tight.
He was bigger than you thought he would be, already hard from the foreplay. He ripped open the condom with his teeth and put it on. You watched biting your lip. He spread your legs apart even more. Sliding his hands to your bum gripping hard.
Slowly he slid himself inside you, grasping as he made contact. He kissed your cheek as he went deeper. You moved your lips to his neck where you laid kisses, leaving your mark.
He started to move faster, your insides began to tighten. You both move as one, your breathing match as he went on. "oh god Sam" you muttered against his neck.
He pushed back some fallen hair out of your face, bring your face up so he could see your it. You smiled as he kissed you.  He continued to more a steady pace, "I can't- hold on" Sam stuttered pulling you ever closer. Your breast rubbed against his chest, head falling back hitting the headboard.
"I'm nearly there" you cried biting your lip again. He covered your mouth with his hand. You knew you had to be quiet with Dean being so close. Your walls crumbled as he hit the right spot.
He didn’t last much longer after you, with laboured breath, he pulled out of you. He left he bed and left the room again. He came back with a wash cloth . He helped you to clean yourself, then joint you in the bed.
You were glad he stayed, when he left at first you were scared at he didn’t want anything else. That he just wanted sex but he cared. He pushed the cover down so you could both get under.
Before you did you both put on some clothes, once under the covers he pulled you close. You laid your head against his chest. He drew with his figure on your back. "I haven't felt this way in such a long time" you sighed, pushing yourself even closer to him. "I didn't think I could".
Though you didn't hear him exhale you felt it. "I never thought I'd find someone after Jess died. But then I met you and right away you stole my breath".
"I've told you so much about myself, more than I have ever told anyone. And I might as well go all the way.  When I die,  I don't  want to be burnt like hunters normally are. I want to be buried somewhere warm, with flowers." you smile softly thinking of a flowery field  somewhere. "I know it sounds mad but I hope we all find peace at the end of this life"
"I don't think it's mad" he said and you could hear his sweet smile. "And we will all find peace one day". He playful ran your hair through his hands as you drifted to sleep.
