Subuniting.

I pointlessly crunched some numbers like a total nerd.

I factored: albums, Festa photoshoots, Winter and Summer Package photoshoots.

I defined a subunit photoshoot as a non-candid photoshoot where other subunits are clearly defined, usually in a 4 & 3 or 2, 2 & 3 configuration.

✌ Based on above, there were a total of 79 seperate official company photoshoots featuring a duo.

✌ There were 59 other photoshoots where the groupings are trios or quartets. I could analyse these and might still do that but just for transparency, Taekook were in 9 of these bigger groupings together.

✌ There is one instance of a 5 and 2 arrangement. The quintet was all but Namkook who did their own shoot. That made me giggle.

✌ The most photographed subunit is Vmin with six instances.

✌ Jikook, Taegi, Namkook and Vhope following with five each.

✌ Taejoon, Yoonmin, Taejin, Namgi and Jinkook all had four.

✌ Hopekook, Sope and Namjin had three.

✌ Taekook have two. They were in 2015 and 2016. They are tied with Jin and Yoongi.

✌ The least photographed are 2seok, Yoonkook, Namseok, Minimoni and Jinmin with only one instance each.

✌ The rapline don't have any official subunit photos in this selection. Nor do the Maknae line or the hyung line.

Interesting! I think I expected Taegi to be all my imagination so that's a nice surprise, I love them as a duo.

If you can think of another source of company content photos that I haven't included, I'd be really interested to know so I can add it. Or if you want to know something specific, I can do my best to pull it out of my spreadsheet. YEAH I DID A SPREADSHEET!

Edit: Thank you @stupendousfoxthing for pointing out BTS World in 2019. I missed this but I can't seem to find a full list of photos to be able to pull numbers from it unless I search by pairing. But I know from a quick google that you can add one to Taekook, Jikook and Vmin at least.

Watching minimoni videos is my guilty pleasure. Like I can't pin point or date it back when namjoon would just praise jimin like " you're gorgeous you've got muscles, but there's a soft side, a feminine side in you". And how he likes small and cute things which is basically what BTS members describe jimin as. That one concert jimin was all touchy touchy with namjoon sniffing his neck and all. And jungkook was just standing there like tf am I tweaking. Imagine your idol all up your boyfriend.😂😂

I've been through shit but I feel better when I look at what he's been through all these constantly from fighting for his post at jimin's heart knowing very well jimin's got his eyes only for him.

Minimoni is my guilty pleasure I don't want to get started on jihope I thought hopekook has spicy moments but jihope

I'm totally side eyeing this ask 👀 but I agree Minimoni are a great duo and much like JK, RM understands Jimin likes to be praised and he does come through in that aspect. He was quite happy when JK finally rated Jimin as first in looks. He had the loudest reaction in that moment.

here's a moment of hobi acting sus around jikook and pushing jungkook to stand behind jimin then cheesing at him when jk was obviously hesitant for some reason, both him and jimin looked awkward and it's that awkwardness that makes it clear to me there's something more to them than just friendship.

it was during bon voyage 1 when jimin was walking behind everyone and hopekook stopped to wait for him, jhope asked "why is jimin so slow?" then looked at jk expectantly and was—as usual—cheesing at him until jk said "*sighhh* he drives me nuts" and hobi burst out laughing. he even made jk say it again when jimin caught up to them just to have jimin hear it and react to it.

stuff like that happens all the time with them and the other members (yes including tae, who had posted a video a few months ago on his IG story from the butter mv shooting where jimin was goofing around, and as tae started recording jimin he called jungkook's name to make him watch what jimin was doing. or during one of the latest run bts episodes where jimin was doing a mukbang and couldn't open the small bag and tae and hobi both turned to jk to highlight the fact that he's frowning and the members took a picture of him to post in jimin's comments to see), coupling the members’ reactions with the way jikook generally act around each other, the way they talk to each other, and other outside big indicators, makes it clear they're just more than just friends. jimin himself said "the members think jungkook is just my dongsaeng" implying he's more than that.

hiii angel, yes I have and I agree with what you said!! the album and docu are amazing and just.. pure j-hope. I love seeing his passion turn into such brilliant projects, it’s one thing to have talent and an idea and another to be able to actually implement it and touch other people with it. one thing he always manages to do is suck you into his world and let you be part of his joy.

I’m a little torn about the editing of the documentary though? I can’t pinpoint what bothers me, I think maybe the pacing or something?, but then on the other side I looooooove all the effects they used for the dance clips especially, my editor eye was on cloud nine!! I’m very much looking forward to the other episodes.

Hello Amber!! So.. I kinda got into bts 2-3 weeks ago (yes I know my timing is great) it is a little bit your fault but I'm embracing it bc is giving me joy. I used to read your fic recs back in the 1d days (god that made me feel ancient) so im humbly asking if you have any fic recs? I am SO sorry I pulled you in this late jsjsjs but also very happy to have you here <3 the joy is unparalleled, really, so welcome! am I to take away from this your biases are jikook? :’)

I’ll be real, with BTS I just about read every pairing, it’s not like with 1D where I read HL for the majority of the time. there’s sooooo much good fic and it’s in my opinion a waste to stick to one pairing specifically because all of them have something different to offer (even though hopekook is, as you probably know by now, my specific niche and like crack to me NSMSM) so I’ll just rec you some of the ones I read when I got into them that really stuck with me and are good to get to know them!

I already did a post like that once (here) and here so those are good starting points!

aside from these I’d also rec Only A Fangirl, she writes soooo many pairings and her smut is Very Hot (plot wise I have some pointers, but, you know NDNDNS)
