Wednesday: "Only with her outrageous colour scheme. Otherwise, Nevermore should be grateful to have her. She is a good student, smart, caring of others for some reason unknown to me & she's brave despite her excessive fearfulness"

More about the wenclair kids, this post is dedicated to @krystal-maiden because they wanted to know more about the twins! If anyone wants to ask anything about them, I’d happily share my hyperfixations with anyone (:

Leonidas is a pack animal and prefers company. He follows his moms everywhere and whenever his uncles visit he will hold something they have hostage so they can stay longer. Leonidas was jealous that Wednesday AND Enid had brothers, so he asked for brothers for his birthday. He got two twin sisters instead.

When the twins came home, Leonidas tried to return them because he thought they got the wrong kids.

Vittoria and Naenia are not identical twins, in fact one look at them and nobody could tell they were twins at all. Vittoria is the spitting image of Enid and Leonidas save for her nearly black eyes. And Naenia is the spitting image of Wednesday, except her bright blue eyes which stare into the soul of anyone and everyone.

Naenia and Vittoria were born with their dominant gene being psychic, and because of their twinship they share a connection. If Vittoria cries, Naenia will start crying soon after. If Vittoria is hungry, Naenia will cry, if Naenia wakes up in the middle of the night and sits there quietly, Vittoria will wake up and start crying. If Naenia needs to be changed, Vittoria will start crying. Leonidas noticed this and immediately started trying to experiment to figure out the limits of this. Wednesday always manages to catch him before someone gets beheaded though.

Vittoria was smiling as soon as they left the delivery room. (They had to make sure Leonidas didn’t cut the breaks) Naenia didn’t stop crying unless Wednesday held her and they didn’t like to be separated. Leonidas spent the entire car ride pouting because he wanted brothers.

Naenia has a permanent glare, unless her face is relaxed, like when she’s inspecting Enid’s fangs or near Vittoria. (Naenia will play with Enid and Leo’s fangs as a baby) The first time she smiles is at Leonidas as he’s about to set her on fire, and he decides she is more useful alive (his heart melts and he realizes he’d protect his baby sisters with his life). Vittoria is a very happy baby so long as she’s entertained. She’s very curious and tries to get into everything Leo owns (annoy him to death) and thus starts their life long prank rivalry.

Yoko loves the twins and Leo, she insist they call her aunty or dad (Wednesday firmly disagrees even though she is their god mother). Frequently Yoko just pops into the house with gifts for the twins and Leo. Vittoria loves anything colorful to chew on and expensive (she seems to be able to smell what costs money). Yoko very quickly becomes Vittoria’s favorite and Naenia loves her fangs.

Leonidas always tries to ambush and kill Yoko but she’s much faster and stronger than he is. Yoko just thinks he’s adorable every time he tries to jump on her back with a toy knife. He makes it his goal to defeat her in combat (even though he won’t say it, he respects her a lot). And he likes that she protects Enid, Leo is very protective of his moms.

Naenia loves being around Leonidas, she smiles most as a baby when he watches horror movies with her.

Vittoria loves when there are a lot of people around to watch, she doesn’t like to be bored at all. She often spends time in Leonidas’s old carrier with Enid because she likes to move around. And because Naenia doesn’t like to be far from her, Enid buys a second one for Wednesday to use in public. She is appalled. She wears it anyway. They’re in their snood colors.

Enid: We can match!

Wesnesday: …Leo I think your mom is trying to send me to an early grave.

Leonidas: Grave digging! :D

Wednesday, nodding: Yes we do have to take them on their first grave robbing expedition, they’re getting about that age.

Enid: …they’re five months old.

Wednesday: By that age my father and my uncle had already taken me across the sea to slay my first kraken with them. It’s a bonding experience for family.

WIP Wednesday with the amnesia!dfs au again! Going to be honest, I don't have any other WIPs, so I hope even though they all come from the same piece that everyone enjoys these. (It's fifteen thousand words now...)

“Hey,” He rasps. Fang Duobing looks down at where he’s touching his wrist. “It’s fine.” “It’s not fine!” He shouts. He flinches back. The immediate and guilty flash of pain on Fang Duobing’s face makes him grip his wrist tighter. “The first thing I see is you, collapsing onto my feet, nearly naked and paler than a corpse! Do you know what I thought?! I thought you were dead, A-Fei! Dead!” He bends over him, eyes squeezed shut, and he realises that he’s worried. For him. “When we found you,” He whispers, “You were about to be married to a ghost bride. I paid ten thousand taels for you.” His face forms a snarl. “I will drink Meng Po’s soup before I ever goddamn lose you.” He reaches up to touch Fang Duobing’s cheek in wonder. He really is staking a claim on him, he thinks. Some part of him basks in this crude, animalistic idea. Unthinkingly he tilts his chin up, baring his neck as he looks at him challengingly. “What did I mean to you?” He asks roughly. “What did you mean to me?” This close he can see Fang Duobing’s throat bob as he swallows. He can see how his lashes tremble as he holds himself back, as all of his emotions roil behind his eyes. “I couldn’t tell you,” He says. He chokes, pressing his forehead against his temple. “I really can’t tell you, A-Fei. I don’t know how to.”

Okay SURE we all agree that Enid is queer-coded as FUCK with her rainbow nails and lesbian flag of a sweater, but I really wanna talk about her usage of ‘howdy’ more:

Enid Sinclair is someone canonically from California- my state, actually- and like…. NO ONE here who is straight uses motherfucken ‘howdy’ as a casual greeting. No one. You know how there’s this thing where if a person uses the word ‘y’all’ all the time and they’re not Cowboyishly Southern™️ then chances are they’re a fruit? Like, I use y’all every single day and I am a raging Californian through and through. I also love hot moms and dads. Sure, I am willing to concede that not EVERY non-Southerner who uses y’all is queer, but with the countless other queer people I know who do the same as I do… well.

Yes, correlation does not automatically equate to causation, however, there ARE enough people in this particular category that can give the claim I’m tryna make statistic significance. By extension of the y’all to fruit pipeline, ‘howdy’ is even MORE Cowboyishly Southern™️ than ‘y’all’ and Miss Sinclair is just spouting it right off the bat with her whole chest no hesitation as she joyfully greets Wednesday. Therefore, Enid is queer-coded as FUCK because when was the last time you EVER saw some Californian girlie casually use howdy unironically like this?

(Did I just try to use modern cultural linguistic patterns to try and justify a fictional character’s lesbianism? I mean YEAH in my defense I am delusional Wenclair trash but sshhhhh my science is still sound.)

WIP Wednesday (2/7) | Guardian Angel Neil AU (Part 114)

“I guess I was. But then your coach got to them before I did, so I let him handle it.” Neil says, giving Andrew a curious look. “What were you going to do?”

Andrew’s brow furrows. “What?”

“I saw the way you put yourself in front of Kevin. You thought he was in danger, didn’t you? That they had come to hurt him.”

“I did.”

“Were you going to kill them?” Neil asks. And it’s an interesting question. When Andrew doesn’t answer, Neil goes on, “You still had your padding on. And a goalie racquet in your hands. I bet it would’ve made a good weapon. Probably could’ve knocked their brains out with it— literally. If they had come after Kevin, would you have stopped them?”

“Yes.” If it comes down to it… If anyone ever tries to hurt Kevin— or Aaron or Nicky— well… The coroner will be definitely involved, it’s just a matter of who they’ll be picking up.

“Next time leave it to me. It’s my job to stand in front of you.” Neil says, eyes locked on Andrew’s. Then he sighs, “With a knife in my hand, apparently.”

The guilt curls deeper, drawing Dream's thoughts in with it. Hob is justified in holding such fears; if Dream is to name him Friend, he would do well to assuage them.

"You have carried this fear more than a century. It will not be dispelled in the span of mere months." Indeed, that is the point of this nightmare; but again. It is within Dream's power to offer at least an attempt at reassurance.

It does not come easily, as it encompasses admission of fault, but. He must try.

"Hob." He waits until Hob's wet eyes are fixed on him. "I am…difficult, and my temper is…volatile. It is very possible, perhaps even probable, that I will. Take offense where it is not meant, someday again, but know this." He can feel the truth of it settling into the core of his being before the words are spoken. "I will always return. To you. However long it may take my temper to cool. I will not forsake our bond so lightly."

"Our bond, huh?" Hob flashes a watery, lopsided grin.

"Would you not name it so? Is friendship not a bond?"

"Yes. Of course. My dear friend." There is something in Hob's smile now that is both pleased and sad, a bittersweet note that sings of take what is given and do not seek for more and Dream. Can feel the thread of it plucked throughout the dreamscape, resonating with the notes of do not push and do not invite rejection that sound within himself.

How it feels like reading today's fics in the unbreakable bond tag

I want more of Enid next season, not the boyfriend's nonsense or the teeny sliver of drama with her mom

Like, more of her family drama actually. The scene where she lashes out at the bus and destroys it is a major anxiety and anger issues moment for her (I've already talked about her comphet)

But the way she bounces around all sweet and happy while occasionally reminding people (Wednesday when she pisses her off by threatening her) that she has the capability of ripping her to shreds

And then her lashing out and destroying the side of that bus and the tire when she feels unwanted and let down

I generally see, from my own experience that using aggression as a way to make yourself feel in control is because you feel small or helpless

And I get the impression that her mom is really domineering and Enid can never do anything right, she's always the disappointment and is waiting for the day she is abandoned by her family pack, and her dad doesn't look like he asserts himself or gets a word in edgewise so Enid is at her mother's mercy

So Enid compensates when she feels she's in dire situations by lashing out and breaking things because she doesn't know how to regulate her emotions healthily when faced with rejection or abandonment

Basically, the first place she feels unwanted and small is at home and Enids anger issues are interesting to me to like, dissect from her character analysis stand point

It's more interesting than the heteronormative nonsense pushed in the first season

I'll also say its a good thing for Enid's mom that Wednesday never met her, cause that girl doesn't enjoy bullies lmao

I want more of Enid's family drama next season, especially if the show does something interesting and gives into Wenclair shipping cause her mom gives homphobic vibes
