Oscar Piastri x reader // in motion pt 2
hockey au part 2: a lil backstory, Max Verstappen’s Pizza Theory, breakfast for dinner, and the beginnings of a physics study club. 5.7k words
warnings: mentions of sports related injuries, alcohol, and a creepy guy at a party.
You met Lando your freshman year, in an intro level writing class. Lando Norris may be great at hockey, but he was and still is absolutely atrocious at writing, which you discovered quickly when you’d been paired up with him for a partner project. He was the most talkative person in the whole class, and also the most likely to fall asleep. You couldn't blame him. It was an 8 am class, and from what you could tell, he had early morning hockey practices nearly every day.
He’d noticed the Timberwolves Soccer sticker on your laptop case, the one you’d been picking at the edges of at any available moment, trying to peel it off. It wouldn’t budge. He’d tried to use that as a common interest, a way to make a connection. He hadn’t known how much of a touchy subject it was. How could he have? The two of you barely knew each other's names.
You’d been angry at the world, at the time. Fresh off a life changing injury, still dealing with the physical therapy afterwards and stuck feeling like it was all so painfully obvious due to the knee brace on your leg. You’d only come to the stupid school to play on the soccer team, anyways. A month into your freshman year, injured and off the roster, with your chances of ever playing again looking bleak, you’d had a hard time trying to find a new reason to be there.
Before you met Lando, the soccer team had been your main source of friends. When you got injured, it all went to shit. At first, you hadn’t blamed them for the distance. You were dealing with something none of them even wanted to think about. But when you had to have surgery and none of them even bothered to text and check in, you’d begun to feel bitter. It had felt so lonely, in a town where you knew nobody, and the few people you’d connected with had slipped away. Lando had helped change that. His team had helped change that.
By the time you had to have a second surgery during winter semester, you’d been fully adopted by the entire Timberwolves Hockey team. They’d sent cards and flowers that filled up the room. Lando had visited every day, at least one of his teammates in tow. Max hadn’t been team captain at the time, but he’d taken the lead on getting a schedule set up to have people help carry your things to class for you while you were on crutches. You’d found a family, a reason to stay at the school, even without your beloved sport. You’d never be able to thank them enough for it.
Now you’re in your junior year of college and sitting in the stands at a hockey game instead of on the field at a soccer game, but the people on the ice are all your best friends. They’re losing, quite terribly, if you’re being honest. The stands are half empty. They’re just… off, today, in the second game of the week. Not quite in sync. You can see the frustration on all of them even from all the way up in the stands. Charles and Carlos are bickering on the bench. Max is skating messily. Lando looks lost on the ice, like his skates have a mind of their own. Even Oscar is struggling.
When the buzzer sounds for the end of the game, you stand up from your seat and head outside. Lily’s not here tonight- she has to work- so you’re on your own as you head toward the house. You text Max and ask if you should order pizza. He replies with an enthusiastic yes, a list of requests, and $100 on Venmo.
You have the pizza waiting, along with paper plates and Gatorade, by the time the first one of them walks into the house. It’s Oscar. He shuffles into the kitchen and looks at the pizza boxes with a wrinkled nose.
“Are you guys having a party?” He asks.
You sort of hate the way he says it. You guys. Like it’s not his house. Like it’s not his team. You know the feeling, really, of sort of just drifting along with nothing to cling onto. You tilt your head at him and slide a bottle of Gatorade across the counter towards him.
“No,” you say, and his shoulders relax slightly. “Usually after a tough game, Max likes to do some sort of team bonding. So. Pizza. He didn’t tell you?”
Oscar shrugs. “He probably did. Dunno. I was kind of out of it, and I snuck out as soon as the coaches were done yelling.”
You wince and nod in understanding. “I used to be the same way after bad games.”
You don’t even realize what you’ve hinted at until his head jerks up from where he’s been staring at the bottle in front of him. “You play sports?”
You chew on the inside of your cheek. You suppose he’ll hear the story eventually, but maybe now isn’t the best time. Maybe he doesn’t need your pity party while he’s trying to have his own. Maybe it’s nice that he doesn’t feel bad for you, just confused by you and your constant presence around the hockey team.
“Used to,” you say. When his face flickers with confusion, you hand him a paper plate. “Have some pizza. Captain’s orders.”
He stands there, staring, looking so unsure.
“You can take it up to your room if you really want, I won’t tattle” you say, and he twists his mouth. “Honestly, though? I hate to watch you guys lose, but sometimes these nights are some of the best. You should stick around.”
He pulls a piece of pepperoni pizza from the box and sets it on the plate. Then he takes a seat at one of the kitchen island barstools. You hope he doesn’t hear your sigh of relief.
An hour later, the kitchen, dining room, and back deck are full of people, and they’re all complaining about the game. Charles and Carlos are at the table, no longer angry with each other, instead complaining about a defenseman on the other team. Lando’s draped over Alex’s shoulder, loudly fake crying over god knows what. Oscar’s on Alex’s other side, laughing loudly at Lando’s dramatics.
You’re pouring drinks for the three of them- you’d offered when you noticed the empty cups. It’s not a party, but the alcohol helps numb the bitter feeling of a bad game. Max is standing nearby, looking proud. He elbows you.
“Pizza theory,” he says, raising his eyebrows.
You laugh. “Yeah, Max. Another one for the pizza theory.”
He’s had this running… experiment, of sorts, for a couple years now. It started after a string of bad games your freshman year, his sophomore year. He’d pointed out that when the team had pizza together after a loss, the next game was always a win. So he’d begun trying things out and writing down the results- you’ve seen the Google document, now co-organized by Charles. Pizza leads to wins almost 95% of the time. Chinese sits at a healthy 70%. They tried Subway one time and all got so sick off of it they nearly had to cancel the next game, so they never tried again.
You’ve told him before that you don’t think it’s really about the pizza- it’s about the time spent together, and the space to be just teammates again. It’s not like they’re apologizing or talking strategy, but put a bunch of greasy food in front of them and they’ll start to unwind. Mend bridges. Build new ones, even, you think, as you watch Oscar and Alex chat, heads leaned close together.
They win the next game by one point. It’s an away game, but you watch it from your apartment with Lily and a couple other friends, grinning the whole way through. You have pizza in honor of Max’s theory. Charles nearly tackles Oscar onto the ice when he scores. When the camera zooms in on the smiles on both of their faces, your heart melts. Lando howls like a wolf at the end of the game, which is simultaneously endearing and cringe inducing. When they get back to the hotel, he FaceTimes you from the elevator. It’s full of hockey boys with big grins on their faces. Max, hair still dripping wet from the shower, his arm slung around Lando, is smiling brightest of them all.
“Pizza theory!” he yells, and you can’t fight a grin in return.
“Pizza theory indeed,” you reply.
Oscar’s head pops up on the screen. You can only see his eyes and forehead, and he seems to know, because he wiggles his brows. It makes you laugh.
“What’s pizza theory?” He asks.
“You have much to learn, young grasshopper,” Lando quips.
“We’ll show you the Google doc later,” Charles promises. “Right now, we are going to the pool.”
…..
Oscar doesn’t join in the game afterparties for weeks. You don’t take it personally, but you do wonder why he doesn’t want to celebrate with his team. You even ask Lando to make sure he knows he’s invited. Your friend just looks at you like you’re crazy, which you suppose you are.
In the end, the party he does show up at isn’t even one after a game. It’s a bye week, and Seb gives them Saturday night off of practice, so they throw what starts out as a hangout and quickly morphs into a full on party. There are people spilling out into the lawn. Lando’s in charge of the music and taking it very seriously. And Oscar is in the kitchen, chatting with Alex over their red plastic cups. It’s an odd sight, but a welcome one. You’re trying not to stare.
Instead, you’re standing nearby, listening to Charles and Carlos argue. It’s over something stupid, you’re pretty sure- it almost always is. Max is standing next to you, hiding his amusement behind his own plastic cup. The three of them have a weird dynamic. Charles and Carlos have known each other for a while- they played together on a team before they started college. Max and Charles go farther back, though. They’re childhood rivals turned captain and alternate captain. They’re all oddly competitive over who likes who more or less. It’s entertaining, to say the least.
You’re really only half listening, using them to take appropriate breaks from watching Oscar. You’d tried to convince yourself you were just keeping an eye on him at first, that you were making sure he was okay and having fun. Now, two drinks deep, you’ve stopped making excuses in your own head. You just like the way he looks in the glow of Lando’s cheesy LED light strips. They’re purple tonight. Oscar’s cheekbones are painted purple because of it. You know there are freckles there, dotting his skin. You wish you were close enough to see them.
Eventually, you leave the guys to their arguing, tear your eyes from Oscar, and start to wander the party. There’s a lot going on, and there are a lot of people in the house that you’ve never met before. That happens, at these sort of events, you’ve found. The unplanned ones end up being an odd mix of people. So when you find yourself leaning against a wall and a guy you don’t recognize comes up to talk to you, you’re not exactly surprised. When he plants his hand next to your head on the wall, though, that does surprise you.
“I hear they call you Bunny,” he says, leering over you.
You hate the way he uses the nickname, the way it sounds on his lips. He leans close, caging you in. You swallow tightly, trying to peer over his shoulder and spot any one of your friends. It’s no use. He’s tall and broad and blocking your view. You say a silent prayer to whoever might be listening that one of your friends notices your absence.
“My friends do, yeah,” you say, hoping he takes the hint. “Actually, I have to go find-“
He cuts you off when he leans closer. You press yourself back against the wall. You can smell the cheap beer on his breath. Your heart pounds in your chest. Fight or flight or freeze, time to choose.
“Come on, sweetie,” the guy says. “Be a good bunny and-“
Someone’s hand clamps down on his shoulder. That’s all you see before he’s ripped away from you. It’s like you can breathe again, suddenly, relief flashing through your brain like the purple lights in the kitchen. It’s followed quickly by concern, though, when you catch sight of what’s going on.
Oscar has him pinned against the wall, one hand on his shoulder, his other fist cocked back, elbow bent, ready to throw a punch. There’s fury on his face. You’ve never seen him like this. Oscar doesn’t really fight. Not now, not at his previous team, not before then, either. You know it because Lando mentioned it when talking about how levelheaded he was. Plus, there are no helmets or pads to protect him here. Just him and his apparent anger.
“Mate,” Max says, carefully, appearing almost out of thin air. “Cool down, yeah?”
Oscar grits his teeth and clenches his jaw. You blink widely at the sight in front of you. Max’s eyes flicker to you, to the way you’re huddled against the wall, and understanding washes over his face.
“Piastri,” Max says, which seems to clear a bit of the fog from Oscar's head. The younger teammate turns to look at his captain and falters slightly. “I think you’ve proved your point.”
Oscar takes it for what it is- a thinly veiled command. Fighting on the rink is one thing. Fighting at a party they’re definitely not supposed to be having is another. Once they’re in motion, fights are difficult to stop, even harder to control, really. It'll get out of hand, so, so quickly. Seb would have their heads on a silver platter, and Max is always responsible for the actions of the team- it comes with being captain. He drops his fist and backs away slightly. Max nods.
The guy sneers at you, then Oscar, and then he spits on the floor near your feet. “Dumb bitch-“
In the blink of an eye, he’s pinned back to the wall, this time by Max, both hands on each of his shoulders. He tosses a look over his shoulder at Oscar.
“Get her out of here?” He says, and Oscar nods frantically.
He takes your hand, gentle as ever. You follow along nearly blindly as tears begin to well up in your eyes. Oscar weaves through the crowd, a man on a mission, and heads for the stairs. You dodge a couple who are making out on the top step, and he makes his way to his bedroom. They keep the rooms locked during parties- he punches his code in and ushers you inside. You nearly laugh through your tears when you see number 44, Lewis Hamilton, staring down from the poster on the wall. You wonder if Oscar knows he and Lando have matching ones.
He sits you down on the bed, reaching to turn on the lamp. He moves around the room quickly, and he tosses you a hoodie from his drawer, which you pull over your head gratefully. You hadn’t noticed until then how you had your own arms wrapped around your body, like you were hiding. You shake your hands out, flexing your fingers, trying to get the feeling back in them.
He sighs and reaches for the door. “Okay. You’re okay. Just- I’ll close the door behind me and-“
“Where are you going?” You ask, suddenly feeling panicky. You think it’s clear just from the sound of your voice, too.
“To get Lando,” he says, freezing in place, hand on the doorknob as he looks at you.
You sniffle. “Max will find him. Could you- can you- I don’t want to be alone, really, so-“
“Fuck. Shit. Sorry,” Oscar says.
Then he does the last thing you’d have expected. He sits down on the bed next to you, close enough to touch, and then wraps an arm around your shoulders. You gasp at the feeling, but lean into it, feeling a bit of relief running down your spine. His hand covers your whole shoulder.
“Is this okay?” He whispers, and you nod. “Okay. Sorry. I didn’t really think about it.”
“It’s okay,” you answer, unsure what he’s even apologizing for- almost leaving or touching you. Either way, it’s fine.
The two of you sit there in the relative quiet for a minute or two. Downstairs, the music is loud as ever. Oscar’s hand is heavy on your shoulder, and you’re still a bit stuck in fight or flight mode. Maybe you’re just frozen, really. You can still smell the beer on the other guy’s breath, can still see the anger on Oscar’s face, can still feel the panic when he was about to leave you. Your chest is tight, fingertips still buzzing.
“Were you actually going to punch him?” You ask, breaking the silence in the room, trying to find something to distract yourself.
Oscar huffs. “The first time, probably not. But when he called you a…” he shrugs. “If Max hadn’t been there…”
You turn to look at him. “Why?”
He blinks, almost taken aback that you’d even ask. “You know. Take care of the team and all.”
You sniffle. “But I’m not on the team.”
“Might as well be, all the time you spend here.”
“Yeah, but…” you trail off. “You don’t… you don’t care about me. You- why would you get into a fight for me?”
He’s quiet for a moment. You’re waiting for the canned answer. Because nobody else was around. Because I knew it’d earn me brownie points with the rest of the team. Because-
“I’m sorry,” he says again. “For making you feel like I didn’t care.”
You squeeze your eyes shut. His hand squeezes your shoulder. Your heart squeezes in your chest. You hadn’t meant for this to go this direction, and now your face is hot and your throat hurts and there are tears welling up behind your closed eyelids.
“I just… I showed up here, and everyone already has their friend groups and buddies and-“ he huffs again, and realization starts to dawn on you. “And they all love you, and they’re super protective of you. And I’ve been so busy trying to find my place here and not step on any toes, I guess I forgot to try and make friends, too, you know?”
You sigh. “I don’t bite, you know. I’m very easy to be friends with. I can be low maintenance if that’s what you need. Or- what’s Lando call it? Low frequency?”
Oscar laughs. “I know.”
You turn to look up at him, and your breath hitches when he reaches up and wipes a couple tears from your cheeks. An hour ago, you thought he couldn’t care less about you. Now you’re sitting in his room, and he’s wiping away tears with a tender touch that makes your stomach ache. His eyes trace your face, like he’s looking for injury, for a source of the pain. It’s overwhelming.
“Okay. So stop ignoring me in class? And in general?” You say, trying to redirect things.
He groans, dropping his chin to his chest. “That was- it wasn’t even on purpose, I just didn’t notice and then when I did it felt too late to say anything, so-“
You break off into a fit of giggles. He drops his arm from around your shoulder, and you miss the warmth immediately. You try not to let it show as he drags his hands over his face and echoes your laughter with his own. When you lean against his shoulder, your side pressed to his, he stays steady and lets you do it.
“It’s okay,” you say, nudging him with your elbow. “Fresh start, yeah?”
He nods. You stick your hand out to him. He laughs and wraps his own around yours, shaking firmly.
“Awesome. Because I have a feeling you’re smart,” you say. “And I’m seriously going to fail our physics class unless you help me.”
Oscar laughs, and the way it takes over his whole body makes you smile. His head bumps against yours, but you can’t even find it in you to mind. It’s enough that he’s laughing around you.
“Okay, but you have to help me, too,” he says, hand still wrapped with yours, and he squeezes it. “I wanna fit in here. I mean, I’m not even from this continent, you know. So trying to find my place has been…”
Your heart aches for him. Suddenly it all makes sense. You know the feeling of being an outsider all too well. So you smile and nod and shake his hand again. “Deal.”
Lando comes and finds the two of you only a few minutes later. He knocks on the door, and Oscar opens it just a crack before he lets his teammate in. He leaves the two of you with a quick nod, seeming to understand that his job here is done. Lando takes you back to his room a few minutes later, his arm around your waist and his head knocking against yours. You pass Max in the hallway, who exchanges a look with Lando and reaches out to squeeze your arm. You’re sure he’ll interrogate you tomorrow to make sure you’re feeling okay.
Lando doesn’t even question the fact that Oscar was the one to take care of you- you suppose to him, it just makes sense. Teammates looking out for teammates, or in this case, their teammate’s friend. He just checks in on you, cleans up the last few tears from your face, and then suggests you stay the night. You don’t exactly want to go back downstairs and through the party, so you agree. You change into a pair of his shorts and a t-shirt, though you keep Oscar’s sweatshirt and put it back on, too. Lando gives you the bed and pulls out the air mattress that he keeps on hand for this, and the two of you fall asleep to the sound of the bass shaking the walls of the house.
…..
The family dinner the next day is loosely breakfast themed. The guys are all dead in the morning, so you take it upon yourself to go do the shopping. And for that, you drag along your trusty assistant, Logan Sargeant. He’s one of few people on the team with his driver’s license, since so many of them are international students and never bothered getting one, and he has a car. Besides that, he’s a rookie, and he’s contractually obligated -meaning Max has politely asked him- to help you whenever you ask. He picks you up in his tiny Toyota, and then you’re off to the grocery store.
He carries the list while you stroll the aisles. “I’ve never heard of literally half the stuff on this list,” he says.
You roll your eyes. “That’s because you’re uncultured.”
You reach up on one of the shelves, snagging a jar with a yellow lid and label. He checks it off the list, brow furrowed.
“I thought this was breakfast for dinner night,” he adds, scrunching his nose up.
You turn to him, giving him an exasperated sigh. “It is. There’s just… a secondary theme. Don’t worry, my American boy, you’ll get your omelette.”
“Omelettes are French!” He cries out, huffing as you start to walk down the aisle, away from him. “The word is literally French!”
“Whatever you say, Miami,” you tease. “What’s next on the list?”
You buy Logan a coffee from a local place on your way back as a thank you for his help. In return, he tells you he forgives you for your comments about him being American. When you pull up to the house, you can see Lando and Charles in the living room. They come outside quickly, ready to help carry the bags in.
You head for the kitchen, one very specific bag in hand. When you walk in, you find Oscar, perched on a barstool, head pressed against his fist as his elbow rests on the counter. Max is on the phone in the dining area, chatting away loudly in another language. You can tell Oscar has a headache, just from the look on his face.
“You’re just the guy I was looking for,” you say, brightly but not too loud.
He blinks a couple times, then points at himself. “I’m an awful cook, if that’s what you’re implying.
You laugh and shake your head. “No, no- not that. But it’s breakfast night, right? So-“ you pull a jar of Vegemite out of the bag and set it down on the counter. “I got this. And then I went a little crazy in the international aisle of the grocery store. Oh, and I got sprinkles? The internet said something about fairy bread and I’m intrigued-“
You pause when he reaches for the jar, and his fingers brush yours. When you look up, there’s a look on his face you don’t quite recognize. It’s almost unbearably soft. You pull your hand out from under his so he can take the jar.
“You got Australian snacks,” he says, so quietly and almost reverently. “You…”
You shrug. “We talked about finding your place. One of the best ways I’ve found to do that is to tell people a little bit about yourself. It doesn’t have to be deep, could just be…”
He leans up and peeks in the bag, and his eyes go wide as he gasps, “TimTams!”
You laugh. “Yeah, could just be TimTams.”
He grins up at you, big and wide and so, so endeared. It’s a whole different side of him. You feel unbelievably proud of yourself for the idea.
Lando comes into the kitchen, hands full of bags. “Yeah, thanks, guys, we don’t need help.”
Charles is right behind him. “It’s fine, actually- hey, you bought Oscar cookies?”
Oscar hugs the package to his chest, suddenly possessive. You laugh and reach into one of the bags Lando is holding. In your hand is another package of TimTams.
“I got two of everything,” you tell Oscar. “To share and to keep.”
He smiles again, and lets the TimTams fall from his chest. “You all have to try one.”
Max gets off the phone and helps unpack things, setting out the stuff he’ll need for dinner tonight. You watch on with a fond smile as Oscar introduces all the snacks to anyone who’s willing to listen. Lando, Logan, and Charles sit with rapt attention as Oscar tells them childhood stories about all the snacks. Meanwhile, Max starts making pancake batter, and you start prepping the other ingredients.
Max elbows you lightly as the other guys laugh together. “You did good.”
You smile at him, shrugging. “We had a nice talk last night.”
Max cocks his head, smiling softly. “Before or after he tried to punch a guy out for you?”
Your face heats up at the comment, and you look away from Max and back to the food in front of you. “Last I remember, you had that guy pinned to the wall.”
Max makes a noncommittal noise. “I should’ve let Oscar punch him.”
You want to argue. To tell him that you’re not worth the trouble of that, and that he was right to tell Oscar to back off and send both of you away. But when you look up at him, the look on his face is a mixture of concern and determination. You blink, and he nudges his shoulder against yours.
“He deserved to be punched,” Max says, and you shrug. “And if you ever see him again, you call one of us. And maybe at the next party, you-“
“I’m fine,” you insist, picking up a plate and heading for the dining table. “Promise.”
More and more teammates file in, and now Lando’s the one forcing them to try TimTams, and encouraging Oscar to tell a story about being 5 and eating them in a pool, or something along those lines. You listen, even with your back turned, and hope that this helps Oscar feel a little bit more at home.
Later, after dinner, while everyone else is cleaning up, Oscar finds you in the living room. He holds out a plate. On top of it, laid out perfectly and carefully, are three TimTams.
“You didn’t try any earlier,” he says. He shifts on his feet when you take the plate. “I wanted to say thank you. Again.”
You smile up at him, laying your book on your chest. “Not a problem, Piastri. It was the least I could do, after you helped me last night.”
He frowns slightly, nose wrinkling up in mild disgust. “You know you don’t owe me for that, right?”
You nod as you pick up a TimTam off the plate. “But I can still say thank you. So. Thank you, again.”
He nods, and his face goes soft when you take a bite of the cookie and look up at him. It’s like he’s waiting with bated breath, desperate to know if you like them or not. You break out into a wide grin at the taste and nod eagerly up at him.
“Yeah, okay,” you say, eyeing the cookies on the plate. “I get the obsession.”
He laughs, nodding in agreement. One of your arms is resting on the back of the couch, and as if on reflex, he brushes his hand against yours. His skin is warm and soft. Your breath catches in your chest.
He backs away to disappear upstairs, then, with a soft “Goodnight,” that you echo, but not before you catch the tinge of red on his cheeks.
…..
In physics class on Monday, you watch Oscar waver in the doorway. He takes a stilted step towards the seat he normally sits in, across the lecture hall, and then he stops. You blink in confusion, taking a sip of coffee from your travel mug. He seems to take a breath, and then he turns- you pretend you’re not watching as he walks towards you instead. You pretend your heart isn’t racing as he walks up next to you. It shouldn’t be racing. Why is your heart racing?
“Is this seat taken?” He asks, politely, quietly, like it’s the first day of class.
You bite back a laugh when you look up at him, because his cheeks are red and he looks so, so proud of himself. “It’s open,” you say, smiling up at him.
He nods, sets his bag down on the desk, and then collapses into the chair next to you. He stares at your travel mug enviously as he slips his laptop from his bag, and you do laugh at that, at the tight furrow in his brow, at the pout on his lips. He glares at you, then, and then it all dissolves into a yawn. Something about it makes your chest ache- maybe it’s the way he pulls his hands into his hoodie sleeves. He looks like he could curl up right there and fall asleep.
“Early practice?” You ask, smiling sympathetically.
“So early,” he says, rubbing his eyes blearily. “I hate Seb.” Then he frowns, and shakes his head. “No, I don’t. But I do love sleep.”
You laugh and elbow him lightly. “I’ll bring you coffee on Wednesday. As long as you make good on your promise to help me study for this exam.”
His eyes light up, and he elbows you back, smiling brightly. “Easy trade. We’re going to get you an A+.”
You roll your eyes. Before you can respond, the professor calls the class to order, and you both open your laptops. But Oscar’s there, and he’s agreed to help you study, and when you lose your place in the notes halfway through the lecture he helps you get back on track with a sweet smile. It definitely doesn’t make butterflies swirl in your stomach.
Two days later, you walk into the kitchen, paper bag in hand, and you’re greeted with bright smiles and eager hands. Lando grabs for the bag, and Alex isn’t far behind him. Even Max, who’s cooking something on the stovetop, seems to perk up.
“Hey, hey,” you scold, snatching the bag out of their reach. “Not for you.”
Lando furrows his brows. “You’re my best friend, you show up at my house, and you have food that’s not for me?”
You shrug. “It’s for my study group,” you explain, holding the bag high above your head as you walk towards the dining room.
Oscar pops his head through the doorway and smiles at you. He takes the bag from your hand. “Hi. Ready?”
Lando blinks at the two of you in bewilderment. “Um?”
“We’re gonna get an A+ in physics,” Oscar says to Lando, drumming his free hand on the doorframe.
You scoff. “I’m unsure if that’s possible, at this point. But I’m hoping to at least pass.”
You head for the dining table and sit down. Oscar already has all his study materials spread out, so you do the same. When you look up, Lando is having some sort of almost silent conversation with Oscar, talking in hushed tones and facial expressions that do very little to tell you what’s going on. You see Oscar shake his head, then nod, then shake his head again. Max is watching them, too, in amusement. You exchange a glance with the team captain, and he shrugs. His food is burning on the stove- you can smell it. Alex’s far too calm announcement of that fact breaks up whatever was happening between Oscar and Lando.
Oscar turns back to you, brows raised. “Ready?”
Behind him, Max opens the kitchen window and waves smoke out of it.
You nod. “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
You unpack Chinese takeout containers and dish out food on plates. Oscar’s teammates wander through occasionally, sticking their heads into the dining areas to say hi and ask how things are going, but for a while, it’s just the two of you. You find that Oscar’s a great study partner. He’s kind when you ask questions, willing to explain things in a way that you understand. And, when you get bored, you have him to look at. The serious look on his face, the little furrow in his brow, the soft curve of his lips when you answer a question correctly. He’s nice to look at, that’s all.
You walk home later that night feeling better about your odds on the physics exam, and better about the whole situation with Oscar. You think you might finally be winning him over. Halfway to your apartment, you pause on the sidewalk, overlooking the campus park. It would be shorter to just cut through the park. Take the more direct route. You study it for a few moments in the hazy blue post sunset light. Then you turn down the sidewalk and continue on your original route home.

bastard munchen w ego's younger sister whos the complete opposite of ego, shes like very oblivious and innocent? to everything around her TT
Hi! Please keep in mind I generally only write gn!reader! Also, I obviously couldn’t fit every character in this, so I only did a few and this is mainly focused on Isagi (but I might make a part 2 of this!!)
Requests open! - masterlist
Tags: gn!Ego’s younger sibling!reader, reader is a lot younger than Ego and around the same age as the Blue Lock players, not proofread
Ever since the beginning of the Blue Lock program, something about the players caught your attention. You have never been interested in soccer, but something about this suddenly grabbed your interest. You became a big fan of the participants with your favourite one being Isagi. Your sudden enthusiasm also was a surprise to your brother, but he obviously didn’t complain. He was happy that after all these years you suddenly found interest in soccer.
But no matter how often you asked, Ego never allowed you to meet any of the participants. Not even at the U-20 match. You always had to keep your distance from them, but never got an explanation why.
Truth is, your brother is perfectly aware of how oblivious, innocent and naive you are. He’s always seen that as your biggest weakness. And with the Blue Lock players being so focused on egotism, Ego was afraid you’d get close to them and end up having your feelings hurt. But he never told you about that. He only shrugged it off as “I just don’t want you to” whenever you asked.
But ever since the Neo Egoist League began, your brother’s strictness regarding you seemed to fade. He still didn’t allow you to meet the players, but suddenly “i don’t want you to” turned into “Maybe some time next week.”
And this “sometime next week” is today. You got to pick one of the teams to watch at their practice, and you chose Bastard München for multiple reasons. The main one being that you really want to meet Isagi, but Noel Noa being their coach also peaked your interest. You still don’t understand as much about soccer as other fans do, but you know that he’s the world’s greatest striker, so of course you would want to meet him. Although, Ubers was a close second choice to you.
Very excitedly, you walk towards Bastard München’s training field. It’s really hard to keep yourself together to not start squealing in excitement, but somehow you manage to stay somewhat calm.
None of the players really knew beforehand who would come to watch their practice today. They were only told that someone would be watching, but they certainly didn’t expect that someone to be Ego’s younger sibling. None of them even knew Ego has a younger sibling, but when you stepped in, they could immediately see that you’re related to him. At first, you could hear them whispering and asking each other who you might be, first wondering if you might be Ego’s child. But because you’re too old to be his child - or Ego is too young to have a child at your age - they figured he must be your brother.
The first player to approach you is Yukimiya. He very politely introduces himself and holds his hand out for a handshake. In your excitement, you accidentally squeeze his hand too tight.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry!” You immediately apologize and bow down a little, which gains you a little chuckle from Yukimiya.
“No need to apologize, it didn’t hurt.” He has a soft smile on his lips. “May I ask for your name?”
Just before you get to introduce yourself, another player shoves Yukimiya to the side. Only a seconnd later suddenly you’ve got Kaiser standing in front of you with Ness on his side. Just like Yukimiya did, Kaiser holds his hand out to you. But unlike Yukimiya, he doesn’t shake it. Instead, he brings your hand up to his lips to place a soft kiss on it. No one has ever done something like this to you, so of course it causes you to get flustered in the matter of seconds.
“Kaiser! Don’t be like that!” Kaiser quickly gets shoved away by Isagi. You were already flustered before, but now that you’ve got your favourite soccer player standing in front of you, you completely lose your ability to speak. But you don’t need to say anything right now anyways because Kaiser and Isagi are fighting right in front of you and neither of them seem to intend to bring it to an end.
“Shut it guys, that’s enough.” Raichi growls while shoving his teammates apart. He doesn’t seem to want to talk to you, he just wants Kaiser and Isagi to shut up.
You’re about to say something, but then the boys get called by Noa to continue their training. You haven’t even gotten to tell them your name yet. But you happily watch the team practicing their soccer skills. Being near them to watch is way more exciting than only watching them on the screens in your brother’s office, even though this is only a practice match. Every now and then, you catch the players looking at you. The majority of the time they’re focused on the ball, though.
When they’re done, most of the players leave the field without paying any further attention to you. To be honest, they’re just too exhausted to start a conversation with you at this point. Well, all of them except for one.
“Sorry for Kaiser earlier, he’s… weird.” Isagi says as he approaches you.
“Oh no no, don’t worry about me.” You laugh nervously, both because remembering what Kaiser did causes you to blush again and because of Isagi staning in font of you right now.
“What’s your name?” Isagi wants to know, “My name is Yoichi Isagi,” He adds quickly afterwards.
“Oh, I know,” You feel your cheeks heating up a little more, “O-oh and my name is (Y/N).”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, (Y/N). I assume… you’re related to Ego?”
“Yep, he’s my older brother!” You respond in a cheerful voice, which is so cute to Isagi, he blushes slightly as well.
“So… You mentioned you already knew my name?” Isagi is trying to figure out how to continue this conversation without having any awkward silences inbetween.
Your smile gets a little brighter as you nod in response. “I often watch recordings of the games with my brother. And… You’re actually my favourite player ItOs nice to talk to you.”
Isagi’s eyes widen in surprise. “Wait, I’m your favourite Blue Lock player?”
“No, you’re my favourite player out of all. Not just in Blue Lock,” You laugh a little, but your nervousness is slowly fading. “I barely know any other soccer players, to be fair.”
Isagi just stares back at you. He’s struggling to get a grasp on the fact that out of everyone in Blue Lock he caught the interest of Ego’s sibling the most. This will definitely motivate him even more for the future.

AITA for reprimanding someone else's kid?
I brought my friend's 2 foster kids to the park so she could have some time to work on adoption paperwork. The kid this pertains to is the two year old, he's super social and charismatic, both adults and kids are drawn to him, I'll refer to him as K. A little white boy was playing with a soccer ball, he must have been around 7 or 8 years old. K fucking loves soccer and eagerly ran over to the other kid, and they started playing together.
The older kid's guardian was there and asked about K, we exchanged small talk and I praised how gentle and patient her kid was with K. I learned her kid's name, we'll call him T. At some point K got distracted and stopped playing, following his foster sister around. T began playing on the playground with 2 other boys in the generally same age group as T, both were white.
K once again was drawn to T, and now his friends, as they were playing something like cops and robbers. T's guardian and I observed from a distance. T seemed perturbed by K's presence, though K was just watching them and not doing anything in particular. T informed his peers of K's name, then proceeded with, "but he's a poop. A stinky brown poop!" his peers weren't paying much attention and were arguing over where the jail should be. T continued insisting that K was a stinky brown poop. K was becoming upset, he could definitely tell this was an insult and not in jest. K isn't particularly good at communicating yet, he's only 2 after all, but he did manage a proper, "it makes me feel bad when you say that!" as his foster momma has been very good at encouraging her kids to express emotions through sentences with one another like this. What I'm supposed to do with the 2 foster kids, if one uses their words appropriately like this, and the other one fails to stop, I'm supposed to intervene to get the other one to respect their request.
T's guardian was simply observing. I think the social situation was a bit loaded (I was presently the white guardian of a black kid, she was the black guardian of a white kid, I don't know if she was his mom or babysitting like I was, addressing the situation was tricky either way). I don't know if T's comments were necessarily a learned racism thing, or if it was related to K being younger. At any rate, he didn't seem to want to be seen with K by his peers.
I made eye contact with T, and said loudly and sternly, "T, be kind to K or hush up." T looked shocked that an adult stranger addressed him by name. The 2 other kids heard and, as children do, started making fun of T with, "oooo you're in trouble!" and, "yeah, hush up T!" K joined in as well, though he was definitely just parroting the others. T became flustered, his face got bright red and he began shouting that he wasn't in trouble, telling them to stop. I noticed It's guardian watching me, but she didn't say anything, and I didn't either.
T backed away, his two friends then started paying attention to K and were amused by K parroting them, they then resumed playing cops and robbers with K this time. K went back to smiles and being his typical charismatic self, while T kind of stayed away, repeatedly glancing at me. After a bit K veered away from the other 2 and made finger guns at T and pretended to shoot him, leading T's 2 friends back over to include T once again. All 4 boys were then playing together, as though nothing had happened.
I feel like I may have been TA because really, what happened was T was requesting space from K, just going about it wrong. Kids who don't learn to say things like, "I need space," usually use insults or hitting instead. But I do feel that T began insulting the little guy because he's got weird feelings about race, that are triggered when he's with his friends. I have no way of knowing. When we left, T's guardian waved at me and smiled, I returned the gesture and told her to have a good night. I told K's foster mom about it afterwards, and she said it's tricky and thinks what I did was fine, but I dunno. Additionally I may be TA for not stepping in when the other 2 and K berraded T.
AITA?
What are these acronyms?

Slightly on the same track as your baby!Legion and how Ghostface would likely not, uh..."perform" without some kind of protection, but what do you think he'd react like if he ever did have a kid?
Tumblr media
No, but realistically? Not thrilled. Kid would be a walking sack of all kinds of traceable DNA evidence if it were to be born. He's not the kind of man that would be above inducing miscarriages and then stabbing you in the spine a week later after he's sure.
I think it really depends on the circumstances. Was this baby accidentally conceived while he was Ghostface, or was it under his Jed Olsen/any other alias? If it's the former, he'd probably have no idea he even has a kid after he dips out of town a little while later. If it's the latter, I feel like his partner would reach out to him, since they already assume he's such a sweet and caring guy who would want to be a part of their unexpected child's life! But he doesn't seem like the kind of killer to keep up a persona for 9+ months until the baby is born, so...back to the aforementioned homicide. Hell, he may already take the precaution that anyone he has a relationship/hook up with while under his alias dies shortly before he reveals himself and flees across state lines again, for the sole purpose of ensuring there's no little surprises coming out of witness interviews.
But let's say something happens -- he has his fun as Ghostface with someone, he doesn't realize the protection failed, he didn't kill them immediately afterwards because he was feeling a little too cocky and that sloppiness came back to bite him in the ass. Especially if that partner would be too ashamed to admit they slept with fucking Ghostface of all people, news probably wouldn't get back to him for months, maybe even years later, when he's drifting back again through the area and hears about a pretty face he once enjoyed toting along a kid who's age suspiciously coincides with his last visit...
Yeah, no, he's still not getting involved. Frankly, would you even want him to? Are you going to ask a serial killer to pay child support or take them to soccer practice or something? This isn't even touching on his own upbringing with his father, or his clear psycho- or sociopathic tendencies (which are hereditary) and lack of empathy, this is all the schematics of what would be in his best interest to not risk getting caught. He won't be active in the kid's life...that anyone will notice, at least. He will keep tabs on them frequently, just to see how they're coming along. Any interest in starting fires or killing small animals? Any suspicion about who their dad could be? Any names floating around that might connect him to the child through the investigative grapevine? Are they a good kid, or are they simple good at acting like one?
Of course, stalking your own kid and having trauma related to severe daddy issues, I don't think he's going to be able to help himself from getting just a little attached to them. He still has 0 parental inclination or a nurturing bone in his body, but he'd probably feel a bit of pride when his kid finally stands up to a playground bully and gives them a bloody nose, or seeing them pick up casual mannerisms he himself has that they never would have seen, or just the fact that he has to admit the kiddo is pretty adorable with little bits of his features he can pick out from their face.
I can also see him taking more notable interest in the kid if/when they start displaying the same destructive tendencies as him, more so when they're a teen. At that point, depending on how violent their habits have become, he may fully step in. Kid's going to get caught fucking around and end up in juvie at this rate, which means fingerprinting and records, which further means a police file on them is by proxy 50% of a file on Danny, and that won't fly. He needs to keep them on a tight leash for both of their benefits, pass the torch of the Ghostface name so that the legend will continue, teach them how to do it right if they're so insistent in following in their father's footsteps, test them.
If they accept and succeed, well, what a lovely future of homicidal bonding they can have to make up for lost time! If they reject him, if they think they can eventually turn on him, if he thinks they're going to be too much of a risk...sorry, but they've aged out of that cute little baby face that had made him hesitate before, now they're just useless teen he has little care for when he disposes of them once and for all. Shame.

Do you have any headcanons for Nanny fic Gabi? Or scenarios? :3c
-Gedankenmoon ⭐️
hello CEO of papa miguel :3c
Gabriella Headcanons in Nanny
Gabriella is very vocal around her friends. She's loud and sometimes accidentally interrupts her friends when they're in the middle of saying something, but she gets too excited she can't help herself. She likes talking about her interests and can ramble on for hours
When she's older, her interest space out. So instead of just princesses and soccer, it turns to: kpop, sanrio, warrior cats, kirby, monster high, and possibly wants to do another sport but she loves soccer too much
Loves the color purple. Absolutely adores it. (I love the color purple too it's literally the best color ever). I've pictured her quince and her dress is a large, flowing purple dress with rhinestones (like my quince dress was teehee)
Gabriella is very attached to reader. After finding out about their relationship, she feels like its okay to view her officially as a mom. She snuggles her more, holds her hand, follows her around-basically the same thing she's always done but with more confidence ahaha
She doesn't plan on getting another lizard after Butterscotch. She doesn't mind getting a cat or dog, but never a lizard. Butterscotch will probably die around like 20 (maybe longer since Butterscotch isn't a normal lizard), and Gabriella will have her cremated. Getting another lizard would feel like replacing the pet that she basically grew up with and she refuses to do that.
Her dream job is to become a princess warrior, but she'll eventually find the passion of animals (more exotic animals) and become a veterinarian. She'll probably specialize in reptiles or even work at a zoo. Either a veterinarian or a dog trainer or anything relating to animals.
Gabriella is very passionate about her interests or the people she cares about. She likes to go on and on about, say for example, Twice. Her favorite members, whose photo cards she collects the most, etc. For the people she loves, she enjoys spending time with them and either buying them presents (when she's older and has a job. just because miguel is rich doesn't mean he'll keep handing everything to gabi) or making handmade gifts straight from the heart
Reader influenced her a lot. She looks up to her so much. Her kindness, how she takes the time to explain things to her, how she allows her to be upset and express herself. She helps her learn a lot of things about life, like how to handle certain situations at school or to listen to her body about food. Reader allows Gabriella to think for herself so she can be more independent (parenting the same way as Miguel)
Gabriella might be spoiled, but she's taught to be independent and how to speak for herself. If she wants something, she may ask but can get things for herself (she can ask for help if she can't do it). She helps learn how to cook, do her own laundry, etc. Basic life skills. When she's older and wanting expensive things (like an ipad) she does have to work for it. So she does chores, focuses on keeping her grades up, and understands that there's rules in owning an ipad (miguel and reader don't want her to become an ipad kid or leave her unsupervised to things that could potentially harm her, so parental controls are put in place and such)
Dana might've hurt her emotionally, but Reader is the one who eventually heals her. She filled the absence and more. Gabriella sees her more as a mom than Dana. She trusts her and follows her advice. Reader basically shapes her into the person she'll grow up to be.
Gabriella gets attached very easily, which means she can get hurt very easily. Her therapist managed to figure this out and helped her on her attachment issues.
Gabriella overall is a sweet kid with a big heart. She's loved and cared for and she has a bright future ahead of her.

Moments in Kinks-related books that I can't stop thinking about, no matter if it's happy, horrible, or sad :
-Michael Aldred. It was really interesting to see Ray's perspective. It was funny to see how he mentioned the word "friendship" right after writing about how Michael listened to the walls at the Connaught Gardens house. And also, Dave's recollection of their breakup. (X-Ray and Kink).
-Staying on the Michael Aldred topic, the fact that he was already trying to hit on Dave the first time they met during Ready, Steady, Go!. And Dave jokingly(?) punching Pete because... I don't remember what Pete did (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mitch Mitchell almost joining The Kinks after the Cardiff incident (X-Ray, Kink and Americana I think?).
-["Where the fuck did the Greenlaw come from ?"] (X-Ray, I need to find the page again)
-Ray comparing Pete leaving the band to a divorce. (X-Ray)
-The whole David Watts bit aka. Ray attempts to sell his brother's hand to a man in exchange for a mansion after finding out the guy was gay with Mick's help. Also Mick was dancing around while in birth day clothing (X-Ray and Kink. I'm pretty sure Ray Davies: A Complicated Life also mentioned it).
-The mention of Nobby's picture with the guitar and shovel after he went back to his day job due to Pete coming back in 1966 (X-Ray).
-Mick Avory and his connections with the drag queen community (X-Ray).
-Mitch Mitchell hiding pigeons under his bed (Kink).
-Dave explaining Ray's behaviour with astrology (Kink).
-Everyone (the bros, Mick and Nobby) getting scolded by Grenville, and then Baptist entering the room drunk, in full Viking gear, and blowing a horn. Then Grenville resigned (Kink and Americana).
-Ken Jones' death (Americana and Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mick falling and hurting his back while in a clown costume (Kink and Americana).
-Mick, a model, and a DJ (X-Ray).
-Mick attracting all the drag queens even though he's "straight" (Ray's words, not mine) (X-Ray).
-The house Dave and Mick (and Michael Aldred !) lived in had to get exorcised after they all left (don't remember which one, X-Ray maybe ?— Actually I think it was Ray Davies: A Complicated Life. Not sure though).
-The "pineapple juice" bit (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Baptist eating a restaurant bill, and then Pamela (one of the backing singers during Preservation era) trying to do the same but not being allowed to (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The Kinks almost having a punch-up after a concert because Bob asked for a pizza and the brothers "went apeshit" (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Jim getting to go to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, even though he wasn't inducted (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Chrissie Hynde being scared that her and Ray's house might be haunted, so Ray called Peggy who called Dave for assistance (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Nobby thinking him leaving the Kinks was fated (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-1984 being a bad year for basically everyone (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Gordon having to calm down Mick's murderous intents for half an hour after the latter had to be sent to the dressing room following a fight with Dave (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Baptist dropping college right before his finals just so he could join The Kinks (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Nobby sprinting, diving and swimming Baptist back to the shore after the keyboardist accidentally fell (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The Early 70s lineup members having nicknames (Nobby for John D, Baptist for John G, Hyde for Dave and One Step for Mick) (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The "Kinks Hijack Plane" headline. Aka the Kinks got drunk before a flight, Dave went feral and Nobby screaming out of frustration from missing a soccer match (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-"[Ray] Davies was a horrible geezer – a cunt" - Phil May (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mick and Baptist going Cassandra truth-mode on Andy (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Ray knocking out Baptist during a fight before the encore (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Jim and Gordon contrasting each other (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The "Psychatrist. Hours open: 10-12" door (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Pete jokingly telling John Entwistle to give his bass to "a real bass player" (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
Other post I said I would post months ago, but didn't until today. It's a bit dusty because the only modification I did was remove 1 moment because I genuinely didn't know how to feel about that one.

Ahoy Sailor!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masterlist
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2,427
Warnings: Reader is described to have curly hair, could be natural or a perm, it's the 80s hahaha.
Summary: Steve hated the Scoops Ahoy uniform. It was tacky, lame, and totally ruined his best feature. It was a walking red flag to any girl that walked into the ice cream shop, leaving Steve alone in a sea of people without any hope of a date. Until a girl walks in he's never met before, and for whatever reason, the uniform doesn't seem to be a problem. In fact, it's the opposite.
Author’s Note: This is essentially a love letter to the Scoops Ahoy uniform. Babygirl Steve is my bread and butter.
There were a few things Steve Harrington hated in his life. One, the fucked up monsters that ruled the Upside Down. Two, when he forgets to restock on his Farrah Fawcett spray. Three, Billy Hargrove's entire existence, and finally, the stupid sailor uniform he's forced to wear at Scoops Ahoy. The last two were related. If it weren't for that mullet wearing asshole he'd be sitting pretty at the public pool. He was captain of the Hawkins High varsity swim team, been a certified lifeguard since he was 15. This summer was supposed to be a breeze. It all came crashing down when he walked into the Hawkins Pool house on his first day and saw Hargrove's smug face in the locker room. Steve took one foot inside of the threshold and immediately walked out. His dad was forcing him to get a summer job, teach him responsibility or some other bullshit. It's not like he was ever home to make sure he actually did what he asked, but Steve knew his parents had spies all over Hawkins. A bunch of bored soccer moms who had nothing else better to do than snitch on him. So now he was stuck inside of Starcourt Mall, slinging ice cream in the world's ugliest uniform known to mankind. It was ruining his life, something his new coworker Robin took great joy in reminding him daily.
"I believe that's strike three Harrington, you're out!" Robin teased from the back window. She had that stupid white board out, of all of Steve's failures clearly on display. It was the uniform's fault. Steve knew he had game, he had no issues getting girls back in high school. He may no longer hold the title of King Steve, but it wasn't like he was a total loser. How was anybody supposed to take him seriously in a sailor uniform? The dumb hat ruined his best feature. Stupid Scoops Ahoy protocol, stupid Billy Hargrove, stupid, stupid, stupid.
"Laugh it up Buckley, one of these days I'm gonna score and you're gonna eat your words!"
"Gonna capture your white whale, Captain?"
"That's messed up Robin, you shouldn't talk about women like that"
"It's a Moby Dick reference, dingus" Robin rolled her eyes, placing the whiteboard with a fresh tally mark behind the counter.
"Well if you want to talk about di-"
"I'm gonna stop you right there before I vomit"
Steve couldn't help but laugh at her a bit. He liked working with Robin. She was a cool girl, even when she liked to annoy him with her scoreboard. It could have been worse, he could have been stuck with Hargrove all summer. She filled a void he had in his heart since Dustin went to summer camp. The other kids only used him to get into free movies, didn't stay to chat very long. He missed the little butthead. The kids were all planning a surprise party for him when he got back, but that was still a couple weeks away. Till then, he had to make do with what he had. Virtually alone in a sea of people.
Steve thrived in crowds. He liked talking to people, getting to know them, and the Starcourt mall was full of potential. If only this sailor uniform didn't scare them away before he could even open his mouth. It was getting ridiculous. Nancy had dumped him a little over seven months ago and he had zero luck with women since. He didn't start seriously trying until spring break, it took awhile to heal his broken heart. Steve was beyond ready to get back out there, find the other fish in the sea, capture whatever dick whale Robin was talking about, some other shitty nautical metaphors.
He really needed to get laid.
"Heads up Ahab, new customer on board" Robin whispered as she refilled napkins in the dispensers.
Steve turned around to see a girl standing at the counter. She hadn't noticed him yet, too busy peeking at the ice cream flavors in the freezer. He hadn't seen this girl around before, definitely didn't go to Hawkins High with him. She looked about his age, maybe a year above or below him. She had her hair pulled up in a bright yellow scrunchie, delicate curls framing her pretty face. Steve always had a thing for curly hair, loved the idea of tracing the ringlets with his finger. Liked the idea of tracing hers.
"See anything you like?" Steve asked in a cool voice, or at least what he thought sounded cool. He's afraid he's lost his touch recently.
The girl popped her head up to see who spoke to her, noticing Steve's presence for the first time. Her glossy lips formed a small o shape, and he couldn't help but wonder what they would taste like. Steve was getting ahead of himself, one step at a time.
He watched her eyes slowly look up and down his uniform, it took everything in him not to shrink with embarrassment. Yet, when they made eye contact once more it wasn't the look he expected. Usually girls would be stifling their giggles at him, not in the endearing way either. It was always the you look ridiculous but I'm not going to be rude and laugh in your face about it act. This girl didn't have that. She looked embarrassed yes, but not for him. If Steve didn't know any better, he might have thought that she liked the uniform on him. That was impossible though, nobody liked the stupid uniform.
"I definitely do" the girl replied, a modest smile on her face.
"Well we have an ocean of flavors here at Scoops Ahoy, what are you feelin' today?" More nautical puns. Maybe he was a loser. A full fled member of the loser's club. If Mike were here he'd be laughing in his face at the moment, little jerk. What did Mike know about anything? Thought he was so high and mighty getting his first girlfriend, as if that's the mightiest achievement in the universe.
Now Steve was comparing himself to a 13 year old. Oh how the mighty have fallen...
"What flavor's your favorite? I can't decide. Everything here looks delicious"
"I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to judge..." Robin had asked him the same question their first shift together and she went on a 20 minute rant on why Steve was totally 100% irrevocably wrong. How someone can be wrong about their favorite flavor of ice cream was beyond him.
"Pinky promise I won't" the girl held her manicured finger out for him, her nails painted the same color as the scrunchie in her hair. Steve looped his finger around hers and leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"It's mint chocolate chip" he had the full defense on his choice at the tip of his tongue. Mint chocolate chip was an excellent flavor of ice cream, most people just didn't give it a chance. It didn't taste like toothpaste, that always mind boggled him. Chocolate and mint go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. Like peppermint patties or shamrock shakes and some other third thing.
"Really? I don't think I've ever met someone who's favorite was mint chocolate chip" she pulled her finger back as she said it, Steve missed the contact.
"Trust me, it's great. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot"
"I don't know, seems like a big risk," she looked down at his name tag, before slowly dragging her eyes back to his face, "gonna sell it to me Steve?"
Now, Steve knew when a girl was into him. Maintaining eye contact, physical touch, teasing. It's flirting 101. He just had no idea how he managed to do it right this time. Steve didn't try anything special, didn't lay it on thick. It was like he didn't have to try. For whatever reason, this girl didn't seem bothered by the uniform. He wasn't going to waste the one opportunity he's had in months.
"Well, I am certified in the frozen confectionary arts, Miss?"
"L/N, Y/N L/N" she definitely didn't go to Hawkins then. He would have recognized the name if she had.
"Alright Miss. Y/N L/N, mint chocolate chip is perhaps the best flavor of ice cream we sell"
"Really? Do tell" Y/N asked with teasing grin.
"Oh we constantly sell out of the stuff. This tub right here we got in this morning, fresh is the best. I hear the CEO of Scoops Ahoy himself keeps mint chocolate chip in his office everyday because he loves it so much" Steve is talking out of his ass. He doesn't even know if Scoops Ahoy even has a CEO. It's a corporation, so he's sure there must be someone at the top of the frozen food chain.
"That's some high prasie"
"Who doesn't like to be praised?" Steve does. Too much if he's being honest with himself.
"Fair enough" Y/N began, twirling one of her curls around her finger, "one scoop of mint chocolate chip in a dish please "
"Any sprinkles or fudge?"
"Do they cost extra?"
"It's on the house, for taking the risk and all that" Steve was glad his manager was a total flake and never showed up to work. He could get fired for giving away free ice cream, it wouldn't have been a total loss though.
"Then I guess I'll do both"
Steve grabbed the scooper from his belt and gave it a little twirl, earning a giggle from the girl on the other side of the counter. He was on cloud 9. For the first time since he started this lame job he might finally have a shot at adding a tally to the You Rule side of Robin's stupid board. Y/N was clearly into him, as long as he didn't fuck up in the next few minutes he was as good as gold.
"Here you go, one scoop of mint chocolate chip for the lady" Steve said as walked back to the counter. If he was paying better attention, he would have noticed the forgotten white board edge behind him. But Steve wasn't paying attention, and he clocked the board with his hip. It fell to the tile floor with a loud thunk and slid across the floor to the other side of the counter. Right in Y/N's line of sight. He could only watch in horror as she picked up the board and read the incriminating marks on the white plastic.
"I-I can explain that" Steve stuttered, placing the cup of ice cream on the counter.
"Oh yea?" Y/N asked, her grip on the whiteboard remaining steady.
"Yea, well, you see" Steve was floundering. He knew he couldn't come up with anything that didn't seem like total bullshit, because that's all it would be. Bullshit. A shiver ran down his spine at the memory of Nancy and Halloween. Steve didn't want to be bullshit, so he was left with only one option. Honesty.
"It's a scoreboard for me. Every time I hit on a girl and fail Robin puts a tally on the you suck side. If I manage to get a number or a date it would go on the other side. As you can see, I don't have the best luck. I swear it's this stupid uniform, it's cursed" Steve refused to look at the girl as he spoke, his face flushed red with mortified embarrassment. It was all over now, Steve was sure of it. He hadn't felt that pathetic in weeks. Not since his dad laid into him, calling him a fuck up for not getting into Tech. A certified loser he was.
"Well, apparently the girls of Hawkins have shit taste"
"What?" Steve and Robin asked at the same time. Robin had been pretending not to listen during the entire interaction, but she finally blew her cover then. Steve was also in a state of shock. Moments before he was convinced Robin would another black line to his never ending shit score.
"If I'm being honest," Y/N began as she reached over to grab one the dry eraser markers beside the cash register, "I actually dig the uniform. Don't know why, but there's just something about those little shorts and that tie that I like"
Steve was struck dumb. Static in his brain as he watched the girl write something on the board. He didn't know what he did to finally get some positive karma in his life, but he wasn't about to question divine intervention now.
"I guess it's true what they say" Y/N said with a wink as she capped the marker, "ladies do love a man in uniform. Well, at least this one does"
She handed the board to Steve and grabbed her scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. He looked down to see one single tally mark on the You Rule side of the board, alongside ten digits and small heart beside her name.
"I don't know your schedule, but I'm free this Saturday night. I hear St. Elmo's Fire is really good" Holy mother of God. Steve had a date. A date with a pretty girl for the first time in eight friggin months.
"Saturday's good for me, maybe I can get you dinner instead of ice cream this time" Steve had to work until 5 on Saturday, but maybe with a bit of groveling Robin would be willing to cover the last two hours solo.
"Dinner and a movie, sounds perfect" Steve watched as Y/N took a single bite of her ice cream, her tongue swirling around the small red plastic. He couldn't keep his eyes off of it.
"Yea, perfect"
"See ya then Sailor" Y/N turned to walk outside of the shop, her hips swaying with every step. As soon as she was out of earshot, Robin raced to get behind the counter. Her eyes scanned the board Steve still held in his hand, her eyes nearly bugging out of her skull.
"Holy shit, you got a date!" Robin gasped with barely contained surprise. Holy shit was right. For the first time since Steve started at Scoops, he praised the company uniform. It managed to charm the one girl in Hawkins that was into silly sailor get ups. It seemed like things were looking up. Steve grabbed an old receipt and a pen, quickly jotting down Y/N's number before it got destroyed. A proud, and slightly smug, smile on his face.
"Still got it"

Post-canon multi-chapter FF fics:
The Berlin Chapter - Takes place two years after Free Fall. A special work assignment sends Marc to Berlin, after he finds out Kay has been living there. Kay enjoys his new life in Berlin and is in a budding relationship with a prominent politician, while Marc is determined to convince Kay to give him a second chance, he still has his whole life back in Ludwigsburg.
A Spotless Mind - This takes place about a year after the original film. Separated from Bettina and feeling alienated in his unit, Marc asks for a transfer to Stuttgart, he is still battling the depression caused by Kay's departure and a drinking problem... one day, he finds Kay working in a bar near where he lives... Though this is another "Fix it" fanfic, it has a twist which some may find implausible, but I have this idea that wouldn't go away, so I thought I'll try to reunite Kay and Marc under different circumstances.
Parting Words - This is a post Canon fic set 10 years after the movie. Marc is now a Sergeant in Berlin’s criminal investigation police department (KriPo), balancing a promising career and a busy dating life. Even though the one regret in his life remains, Marc believes he has moved on - or so he thought until he sees Kay again by chance on the train one morning. Just like before, seeing Kay unravels Marc’s life. It doesn’t help that Kay seems to be doing a disappearing act. Their paths cross when a work-related opportunity presents itself, they soon find out how much has changed and how much has remained the same between them.
Winter Bird - A post-canon short story set between 2-3 years after the original movie ending. Marc tries to move on; he thinks Kay has moved on, so it shouldn’t matter when Frank tells him where Kay is, should it? But soon regrets and memories keep calling, Marc decides to go looking - a trip which could turn out to be a fateful one - for the road to redemption is paved with perils.
The Confessional - This is a post-canon short story.
Leaving Ludwigsburg, his police career and Marc Borgmann behind, Kay Engel decides to have a new career and a new life. His phone number isn’t new but at least he has the sense to block Marc’s number. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Except Marc doesn’t seem to care that Kay isn’t listening. He has made a habit of leaving one-sided messages, treating Kay’s phone like a confessional…
Tumblr media
Alternate Universe (AU) multi-chapter FF fics:
Doppelpass - AU story based on Free Fall characters, set in the world of professional football/soccer league in Germany (Bundesliga).  Star attacking midfielder Marc Borgmann has two goals this year: winning the league title and Player of the Year award, until Kay Engel enters his life and makes him questioning everything in his life.  A rising star in League 2, Kay Engel has a secret he has to keep and falling in love with his new team captain is not his idea of a career move.
Doppelpass: How to Solve a Problem Like Mario - Marc and Kay are living their new life in Hamburg. Marc is the manager of St. Pauli football team who has just been promoted to Bundesliga top league. He begins to notice that one of his players, Mario Lüthi, seems to be harbouring a secret; and has taken an interest in meeting Kay.  Set in the “Doppelpass” serie universe, this is a slight crossover with the characters from the movie “Mario” (2018), although you do not need to watch “Mario” to follow this story.
Doppelpass: Christmas coda - Doppelgänger - This little Christmas chapter takes place after Doppelpass’s last Chapter but before the Epilogue.  This is soon after they have moved to Hamburg, when Marc is getting his football management pro licence and Kay is attending university.  In Kay’s POV - Marc and Kay discuss how to spend their Christmas.
Running on Empty - This is a AU story based on Freier Fall/Free Fall characters. Plus a few original characters.  For Marc Borgmann, life is good. He’s about to get married, the security company he co-owns finally hits the big league, landing a lucrative contract to protect prominent businessman, Wenzel Wolff. What he isn't expecting is Wenzel's aloof and ambitious executive assistant, Kay Klossner, who seems to be hiding a secret or two, of who he really is - someone from Marc’s past.  Kay Engel thinks he has the best-laid plans. He is so close to the truth now, all he needs is a bit more time. What he isn't expecting is his first crush, Marc Borgmann, reappearing in his life again, stirring up feelings Kay thought he has long given up.  Marc sees himself as a protector, but he has no idea who he might end up protecting.
Wanderlust - “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” - Marc meets Kay, a charming stranger, during a holiday in a Far East city. And allows himself to break a few rules along the way. It’s okay, Marc thinks. Because they will never see each other again. Right?  Until one day Kay turns up in Marc’s place of business... This is an AU story with Free Fall characters. A semi holiday romance with a closeted bisexual man who is good with his hands, a photographer who is often prettier than the subjects he photographs. And a chocolate Labrador with separation anxiety.
Take Me Home - An AU story based on Free Fall characters.
Sole heir of a large family business empire, Marc Borgmann is used to his jet-set high life. He has deals to make, plans to execute and goals to achieve. He also has a secret. But don’t worry, he already has a solution for it. It’s all under control - he has an agreement with his ambitious girlfriend. Marc likes rules and he follows them. Until he meets Kay Engel on a flight from Berlin to New York, who breaks rules for fun, leaves napkins with cute cartoons everywhere he goes and Marc can’t seem to get rid of him. Or does he really want to? This is more than opposite attracts, this is Kay turning Marc’s world upside down.
The Wayward Son - An AU story based on Freier Fall characters.
Marc has just joined the famous Berlin LKA, his police career is looking up. All he needs now is to meet the right woman, get married, have 2.3 children and a house of their own. The night he meets Bettina, he thinks he has hit the jackpot, she’s perfect. But Bettina isn’t the only one Marc meets that night. There is also this mysterious stranger named Kay Engel who says weird things to Marc and two hours later, he’s working with Marc and his colleagues on a big kidnapping case. Marc befriends Kay over the course of the investigation, soon he finds out the life he planned for himself might not be what his heart really wants…
Tumblr media
Canon-Divergence multi-chapter FF fics:
Say Something - This is a canon-divergence fic that starts from and diverts from the original film after the scene when Marc hits Kay. With additional characters.  It is still a “fix-it” story. I’m just trying to explore some “what if” scenarios where the trajectory of the story changes, Kay and Marc make different decisions etc.
Day Zero - This is a canon-divergence story with the assumption that Bettina hasn’t found out about the fake night shifts - so Marc’s affair with Kay remains a secret, even though he has broken up with Kay.  The story starts from Marc returning home after giving the key back to Kay.
Nightswimmers - This is a canon-divergence story. It follows the original film version right up to the forest scene where Marc flees after his first sexual encounter with Kay.
What if Kay never got transferred to Marc’s unit? In this story, they meet five years later in another city. Marc is still with Bettina and their son is five years old. Kay has left the police force and now working as a paramedic.  Marc never forgets Kay and what happened between them has stirred up something in him, although he is still repressing his feelings, he finds ways to cope with it. But seeing Kay again changes everything again.
Once upon a time, chasing after Marc was Kay’s number one goal. But a shattering experience one night has changed his life forever. He thought the chance is lost before it can begin. But seeing Marc again… could this be his second chance?
Canon-Divergence one-shot FF fics:
Someplace New - A one-shot canon divergence. Part of the writing challenge on scenario: Marc returns to Kay’s apartment and Kay is still there.  This is written in both Frank and Marc’s POV
The Key on the Ledge - This is a one-shot Canon-Divergence. Marc goes back to Kay's apartment  as Kay is just leaving.
Tumblr media
Extended scene/missing scene one-shot FF fics:
Ambush - Extended scene and my take on the “Don’t you get it? I love you” scene from the original film.
The Day He Gave Me His Key - Just my musings on the scene when Kay gave the key to Marc. Marc’s POV
A One-off / Ein Ausrutscher - Mostly canon but with added missing scenes. It is the period soon after Marc’s son was born but before Kay got caught  during a police raid.
The Offer - My take on the scenes when Kay offers to go *jogging* with Marc and their encounter in the woods, with additional made up scenes.
*Updated summary of my marc x kay fanfics ❤️

Good day/night! How have you been? 💞
Happy one year, I'm proud of how far you've come! You're amazing, Lily!!
For your special, may I please have Rin Itoshi with prompt no. 17 (he says "I hate you" and reader says "No you don't")?
Remember to take care and stay safe!
Good day/night to you too! I’ve been pretty good, thanks for asking, I hope you’ve been well. You’re so sweet, thank you so much for your kind words. Your wish is my command! I can’t thank you enough, take care and stay safe as well!💜

#17: “I hate you.” “No you don’t.”
A/N: Check the end for a lil surprise ;)
Join Event ➺ Masterlist
You and Rin were hanging out in your room. Right now you both were in the phase where it’s completely silent where you both were doing your own thing. You were checking people’s instagram stories until you got bored. You then looked up from your phone towards Rin and you noticed that he was really focused on whatever he was watching. You figured that he probably was watching some soccer related content.
Seeing how focused he was on his phone, a thought popped up into your head. This was the perfect chance. You swiped through your phone to find the camera app and started secretly taking pictures of him for safe keeping. Then you moved on to Snapchat and started swiping through the ridiculous filters and taking pics of Rin with those filters on. You silently laugh as you look through the pics.
You come across a filter that distorts your face making you look like megamind and you call out to him, “Look over here Rin.” He turned his face towards you with confusion laced across his face. You quickly snapped a picture of him and started bursting out laughing. Through your laughs you manage to say, “You look so cute.” While showing Rin the pic you took of him. “I hate you.” “No you don’t.” He sighs, “Why are you like this?” “You love me though.” “Unfortunately I do.” “Hey!”
Surprise!🎉 I actually put the filter on a pic of Rin so hope y’all like it :D Rin’s got a lot of thoughts going on in that head of his💭

I don't know how you did it but I've hated watching Tennis my entire life, loved playing but hated watching. Now, I play tennis in the background while working so I can watch. What have you done to me?!?!?!?!?!
Though with that, said I do have a question, not so much about the story but more about whether or not you played Tennis in college or in highschool? You have good knowledge of Tennis and it's written so seamlessly well that I can't help but ask.
Also l, what inspired you to write an IF about college Tennis?
HAHA yes I did play! Nowhere near Div I level though. I loved the camaraderie of playing in a team, and sometimes the drama that entailed! :)
I guess I have a LOT of different ideas, and I knew I wanted to write a sport-related slice-of-life, found-family story (football/soccer was one of my earlier ideas too, which I may revisit one day) and there were so few sports COG/HG games out there that I thought "here's a niche I could get into!"
I guess I always thought there was so much mental, social, aspects to playing sports that never quite get explored in more traditional video-games. IFs seemed like the right medium to do it (because it allows for a lot more exploration of inner thoughts, choices and so on.)
Thanks for the message and glad you enjoyed the story!

Tidbits of ATSV That I Enjoyed (Or Alternatively: Just Miles Being The Most Endearing Spidey Ever)
Miles patting The Spot's head after successfully webbing him (I don't see this as condescending, but rather him still engaging with the humanity of a villain like Spot) and ~very assertively~ telling/asking him not to escape.
"I'm like Robin Hood-if he gave to himself."
Miles' spidey senses going off when he arrives late to his dad's party because there's nothing more frightening than Brown parents when they're mad at you. Beware the chancla or correa!
O.k. So we all know there are different versions of the movie out there. You may already know that one of the slight differences is when Miles goes to save Inspector Singh. There's a version where you can hear Gwen's voice in the distant background yelling no! when she thinks Miles gets crushed under the rubble, and there's another where she's silent as she webs to him. Now, I have found ANOTHER version (online) where her shouting is even more at the forefront. She's practically screaming and sounds more desperate, (prolly because it's close to the same way her Peter Parker died so she's reliving trauma) and the fear in her voice is palpable. That one haunts me.
Jefferson trying to equate studying for his police exams to childbirth, which Rio quickly nips in the bud.
Ganke having a soccer poster of Son Heung Min, a famous Korean footballer who currently plays for the Premier League Tottenham Hotspur and is captain of the South Korean national team.
Miles having a Sashimi (his universe's version of Supreme, but I just like the idea that Miles loves eating sashimi. Like I know that kid has good taste in food) poster in his bedroom.
The fact that Miles kept in touch with Aunt May for long enough after the events of ITSV that he helps her move.
The Spot saying he was one of the more handsome scientists at Alchemax according to his colleagues.
Miles and Gwen having the same collectible toys, the only difference being that he keeps his in the box and she doesn't.
"Hey, don't try to wow me with big words, man," *in deep manly voice* "I do crosswords every day"- Miles after Spot points out Alchemax as "the crucible of our connection!"
Miles going, "This job is so dumb sometimes" after he tries to web Spot at the deli, but it goes through a hole and lands on his face.
"Nahhh, he seems more Dominican to me." Kinda want Miles to meet a native Dominican Spidey because that dynamic would highkey fuck hard *pun not intended*. They would repair relations between our two islands-PR&DR.
"Almost there Mami *smiley face* *cowboy* prayer hands*"
The college admissions coach at Visions Academy straight up saying, "That's your story! Now, just stick to the script..." Ma'am what???
"Calmate Mami, eso no es my fault."
"I've hit a lot of different villains with a lot of different food...I'm just trying to lighten the mood."
Miles in his angsty teen era and smart-mouthing everyone around him. Love that for him.
"He almost killed his mom as a baby, I mean, look at those shoulders." No but for real tho. Those shoulders are as wide as a truck. Kim Seokjin who??? (if you understood that reference, ily).
Miles writing a love letter to his dad in 2 cakes.
Gwen at the water tower chowing and saying how feelings make her hungry after her and Miles talked about how they can't be together cause it would end in tragedy. Like Gwen, come again?!
Also, Miles' and Gwen's talk at the Williamsburg Bank Building being lowkey the catalyst for the 2nd/3rd acts of the film. Without them both kind of silently admitting their feelings for each other, Miles probably wouldn't have chased after her the way he did. Pretty sure you know the rest.
"I bet she doesn't even speak Spanish," and Jeff going "Que barbaridad" in his very broken Spanish. Queue Rio's bombastic side eye.
Both Gwen and Miles referring to Spot as a Villain Of The Week, even though neither of them have spoken about Spot to each other.
"I was bitten by a-wouldnt you like to know? Know what I mean?" SIR. Chill. This movie is for children.
The Spot inverting himself, going from a white mass with black spots to a gaping black hole with smaller white spirals. It's giving Junji Ito.
The irony of Pavitr exclaiming, "Well that was another easy adventure for Spider-Man!" right before an incoming canon event. HIS. He was about to experience his first big loss, and his happy-go-lucky nature would've been challenged.
Miguel saying conyo! when all the Spideys start pointing at each other.
"!Cállate!" "Nosy!" Sidebar: we don't talk about Gwen's banter with bad guys enough. She's so funny!
A lot of the Peters saying hi to Gwen as she passes HQ because she is canonically the one lost love--the love interest they all would've ended up with had she not died, so they all have an affection for her.
Web-Slinger going "Giddy up!" Cause he's swinging up.
Miles offering his fresh new takes on how to deal with the Spot upon meeting Miguel, saying "He just wants to be taken seriously. Like we all do." MILES YOU BEAUTIFUL, COMPASSIONATE GOLDEN SUNFLOWER BOY I LOVE YOUUUUU.
Hobie referring to Peter B. as Humbling Reality Spider-Man, which considering how steeped in tragedy the Spidey lore is, is really saying something.
Miguel's nonono no puedo más no puedo más. His misery is very funny and delightful to me. Little bitch ass.
"You know you're the only Spider-Man who isn't funny." Yes! More Miguel slander in the next one, please! Little bitch ass.
"Snitch!"
Miles shouting out Peter's name for help whilst Miguel pins and lays into him the fact that he's an anomaly. This after he momentarily glitches back to his ITSV store-bought suit. Mimicking the way-in also the first movie-Miles shouting out Peter's name for his own rescue as Doc Ock attacks him at the research facility. Because even though he feels hurt by Peter at this point, that's still his dad mentor and he still instinctively looks to him for protection. Rip my heart out why don't you!
Gwen sneaking back into her and her dad's place just to get that printed polaroid of her and Miles, a pic she already has on her phone.
Earth-42 Miles wearing Nike while our Miles wears Jordans.
#hi. ive seen this movie 8x in theaters and twice on pirating sites. i am unwell#also sorry not sorry for the miguel slander. i am a miles loyalist thru and thru thst bitch is on thin ice#but also literally can't get over gwen “it really is so nice to get to talk to you. me & him its different. in every other universe...stacy#cause directly underneath that she's actually saying. “i missed you. and what i have with you i literally do not have with anyone else and.#you dont know this but ive met hundreds and thousands of spiderpeople. nd even in my friendship with hobie its not like what i have with yo#and im actually really smitten with you. the one person i shouldn't be smitten with bc there is no happy ending for us. and idk...#if i should hold off. and im letting you know all this so that you can decide for me. whether to take that lesp of faith or not with you. &#hope that say yes and make the first move so that i cant but help to just sink into you.“#AND IT MAKES SENSE! SHE MET HIM JUST AS HE WAS LIVING THROUGH AN EXPERIENCE SHE DID. OF BECOMING SPIDEY. AND RIGHT AFTER#SUFFERING THE GREATEST TRAGEDY OF HER LIFE WHICH SHE WAS ABOUT TO BEAR WITNESS THRU WITH HIM. SHE WAS THERE FOR HIS UNCLE DYING AND WATCHED#HIM BECOME SPIDERMAN. WE FORGET THAT THEY ACTUALLY WENT THRU SOME HEAVY THINGS TOGETHER. THEYRE TRAUMABONDED. I KNOW THATS NOT WHAT THAT WO#ACTUALLY MEANS. BUT IT MAKES SENSE THAT SHE CAN ONLY TALK TO MILES BC THEY PERFECTLY UNDERSTAND EO.#anyways idk why im shouting. im high rn. but crazy how all of that meaning was subtly thrown in there. like we got a confession scene folks#from gwen of all people! i love that for me.#also back to miguel: so i know he's hot. but if a hot person were to ever be rude to a waiter we agree theyre no longer hot right? right.#atsv#miles morales#itsv#miguel o'hara#the spot#ghostflower#gwiles#gwen stacy#ghost spider#gwen x miles#rio morales#across the spider verse#into the spider verse

That was so cool ! I love skelly. Can we get some fun facts about Christie Gibson or Jake Newham? I think we don't much about him . Thank you 🩶
Since somebody else requested Christie as well, we’ll just focus on Jake for this one.
— Jake Newham, the Senior Class President
Jake Newham comes from a very ambitious and academically focused family. His parents, who divorced when he was nine, are both Harvard grads who now work in politics. Jake’s father is a highly sought-after political consultant, and his mother is the Director of Communications for Senator Ryan Bradley (D-ME) as well as a published author. Due to his parents’ demanding careers, Jake currently lives with his grandparents in their West Broadway Victorian home. He also has an older sister, Amy, who recently obtained her master’s degree in international relations.
Although his parents have tried their hardest to avoid this, Jake does put a lot of pressure on himself to not only succeed, but to excel in everything he does. He worries that all of his accomplishments will ultimately amount to nothing and he won’t ever reach the same amount of success as the rest of his family. Due to this, Jake really struggles with self-confidence, and he often gets steamrolled by stronger personalties like his vice president, Jackie O’Connell. When Jake won the student council vote, Jackie told him that he only won because he’s a man. Deep down, Jake wonders if that’s true.
While the greater student body considers Jake a major dork, he’s actually fairly well-liked among the seniors. Unfortunately, Jake is so focused on his future that he seldom makes time for friends. As soon as he entered high school, Jake started preparing for college. He joined clubs that he knew would look good on an application. He took the most difficult classes he could in order to get an edge over the other applicants. Now that Jake’s about to graduate, he feels a little regretful over some of those decisions, but he stands by them nevertheless.
— Fun Facts
Jake lives on the same block as Liz Mueller. The two of them were very close growing up and could even be considered childhood sweethearts. They went their separate ways in high school: Liz became popular and Jake turned his focus to school. They’re still friends, but they don’t hang out much anymore.
He started taking trumpet lessons when he was ten. He also plays the piano.
He’s captain of the varsity soccer team. He’s a center-midfielder.
He has terrible eyesight and wears contacts even though he hates the way they feel against his eyes. He always keeps a pair of glasses in his backpack just in case.
Yes, he does wear a retainer at night.
And yes, he does often approach Richie at school to ask about his sister. Richie used to find this really annoying, but now he thinks it’s funny as hell and loves messing with him.
He first met Evelyn at the school’s annual student council retreat, a three-day camping trip where newly elected members do team-building exercises and develop their leadership skills. Evelyn stood out because she was so outspoken and enthusiastic.
Similar to how Paul and Lenny tease Evelyn about Jake, Jake’s friends and teammates frequently tease him about Evelyn.
Despite his instant attraction to her, Jake has always been hesitant to pursue a romantic relationship with Evelyn. This is partly due to Jake’s academic ambitions but also due to Evelyn’s ambivalence toward him. He could never quite tell if she liked him or not.
Eventually, Jake began to suspect that she may like someone else, but Henry Bowers was the very last person on his list. Yeah, that was a major shocker.
Honestly, Jake’s not too upset over Evelyn’s rejection. He’s a little wounded, of course, but ultimately he thinks it’s for the best. He’s gonna be graduating soon anyway.

I love father figure serie 😭😭
May I have situation that reader have a bad day and they say nothing but come towards and hug their dad (and maybe just mumbles the word 'i love you dad' while hugging. GOD THIS MAKE ME---) 🥲🌹
THIS IS SO CUTE HELP
Requests open! - father figure coaches masterlist
Tags: gn!reader, fluff, a bit related to this I think: how you start calling them "dad" (+ meeting your bio father) ((no Snuffy version of that tho)), not proofread
Noa has been very tired and exhausted lately, so he didn't really want to leave the house today. But he promised he'd drive you to today's soccer practice, and he hates breaking promises. The moment you open the door after he rang the bell, Noa already feels a bit better just from seeing you. And of course, you immediately notice he's not feeling well, so you quickly pull him into a hug. Your words "I love you, dad" immediately melt his heart and for a moment, it lets him forget how awful he's been feeling in the last few days.
Chris doesn't want you to know he's not feeling well, and he's extremely good at hiding it. If he didn't slip for one moment, you genuinely wouldn't have noticed something's wrong with him. Although, Chtis still refuses to admit he's feeling unwell and doesn't want to tell you what's wrong either. Because you still want to make him feel better, you pull him into a hug out of nowhere and whisper "I love you, dad." Being called "dad" by you makes him feel so much better immediately.
It's rare to ever see Lavinho being in a bad mood. Usually, he's the one helping others feel better, mostly simply by being around them. But today just has been awful for him so he's trying to get distraction by helping you practice soccer. But some thoughts still drag him down, so he's not capable of using his full skill which ends up frustrating him to the point where right now, he doesn't want to play soccer anymore. You're a bit clueless on what to do, but because Lavinho always hugs you when you're feeling down, you decide to do the same. "I love you, dad..." Lavinho is still caught off guard every time you call him "dad", but he immediately hugs you back and quickly returns to his usual personality.
Snuffy doesn't seem so mentally present today and is rather unresponsive to anything you say. He's clearly not annoyed by you and he's not trying to ignore you either, so there must be something else up with him. Even when you ask him about what's wrong, he doesn't answer much. But that's mainly because he's afraid of his problems and worries putting weight on you as well. After some silence, you decide to hug him for a moment and whisper "I love you, dad." The hug that was meant to last only for a moment quickly turns into a minute or even longer because Snuffy doesn't want to let you go.

Nishidake Household: Chapter 5, Part 4
In this part Kaori explores the possibility of purchasing the park.
Tumblr media
New background characters by AlexiaVR and ObsidianLilith
...
For dinner today Kaori has invited Mt Komorebi mayor Hiro and his wife Suzu who is also on the town council. Kaori wants to discuss the possibility of purchasing the downtown park, rather than letting it be purchased by developers.
Hiro: It’s good to see you again Kaori
Suzu: It was nice to invite us
Kaori: I know you knew my grandparents
Hiro: Oh yes. Shigeru and Sachiko were always looking out for the area
Suzu: We were so sorry to hear about their passing. They may not have been official council employees but many there would go to them for advice
Tumblr media
Kaori: Come in, please. We can eat and talk
Hiro: Are you related to my wife
Kaori: I… what?
Hiro: Anytime she wants me to change my mind she cooks a brilliant meal
Kaori: *laughs* Maybe we do have that in common
Suzu: How can we help Kaori
Kaori: Last time we talked you said the council was open to offers on Hazakura Park
Hiro: We are
Kaori: Could I buy it
Tumblr media
Suzu: You want to buy the park? Why?
Kaori: It’s sort of hard to explain. My grandparents and I… well, they saw our family as sort of the protectors of the area, the guardians of the mountain type thing
Hiro: That makes sense, they were always so generous
Kaori: My wife and I were hoping to carry on that role. If we buy Hazakura Park we can keep it as a park. That way while developers may buy up the surrounding area, the residents will still have a park to gather in as a community
Hiro: We have had a few purchase offers. Most notable the Ito’s
Kaori: The Ito’s? Right
Hiro: But make an offer and the council will decide on the best buyer
Tumblr media
The dinner wraps up and Kaori begins cleaning up. Before the couple leave Suzu pulls Kaori aside to talk.
Suzu: Are you okay? You seemed sad when Hiro mentioned the Ito’s
Kaori: Yeah… I dated their son Kiyoshi in high school. It did not end well. But when we were together I did learn how his father operates. He overbids on land, sweeps in to make a profit, and then leaves
Suzu: That doesn’t sound good for the area. Unfortunately Naoki has made a large offer, the council would take a lot of persuading to turn that down. But maybe…
Kaori: Maybe what
Tumblr media
Suzu looks around to make sure her husband is distracted by the soccer game on the TV that Charlie is playing in.
Suzu: Here, I’ll give you the direct contact number for the business. I’m not meant to have it, and if anyone asks me I’ll deny it
Kaori: Why are you giving it to me then
Suzu: I don’t want to see our home overrun with poor quality, over expensive housing any more than you do. Good luck. Hiro! We should get going
Hiro: Your wife sure can kick. Please tell her I think she did a great job in that first half
Kaori: I will. Thank you for coming
Tumblr media
Charlie: Did the dinner go alright
Kaori: Yes and no. But Char, you were amazing in that first half, the mayor even said I should tell you
Charlie: The mayor paid me a compliment? Does that make me a princess
Kaori: Not quite
Charlie: Damn. I was already sizing the crown. Thanks for watching though K
Kaori: Always
Charlie: So what did Mr and Mrs Mt Komorebi Council have to say about the park?
Kaori: They said the council is still accepting offers
Tumblr media
Charlie: You don’t seem happy about that
Kaori: *sighs* the mayor let slip that one of the offers is from the Ito’s
Charlie: The who nows?
Kaori: It’s Kiyoshi’s family Char
Charlie: Oh… The mega rich controlling ones
Kaori: The mega rich, controlling, profiteering and stepping on the little guy ones
Charlie: *sarcastically* So we’ll be able to buy the place as a bargain then
Kaori: *sighs*
Charlie: Hey, we don’t have to give up on buying it. It’ll be better long term if we get it before people are living on the land. Do you have a next step?
Tumblr media
Kaori: I do but I can’t guarantee anything… Clover are you trying to beg for food? Bad dog
Clover: *barks* I would be helping clean the plate
Charlie: Thanks for dinner. We’ll find a way to help Kaori, I promise
Kaori: Sleeptime?
Charlie: Yes please. That was such a long game, I’m beat
The two set about getting ready for bed. Charlie is faster due to her determination to sleep and is snoring softly by the time Kaori climbs in. The two snuggle up and dream of the future.
Tumblr media
The next morning keeps Charlie busy with her pre work task of studying opponents. Kaori takes Clover for a run in the sun and snow.
Kaori: We’ll get home and we’ll just do it, we’ll make the call
Clover: *barks* If you say so
Kaori: Try not to get dirty, then we can skip a bath for you
As she and Clover descend the stairs near the ski lift Kaori suddenly finds it hard to keep her footing. She slides on the ice, desperately trying not to fall over. When she gets a solid footing she sighs in relief.
Kaori: We are not taking that as an omen okay
Clover: *barks* suits me
Tumblr media
Kaori: Hello? I’m calling to discuss your offer on Hazakura Park
?: Are you from the council
Kaori: No. I’m a resident and I wanted to talk to you about the future of the space
?: Look, I’m sure you mean well, but my father doesn’t meet with residents over sales
Kaori: Your- Wait, Kiyoshi?
Kiyoshi: Yeah this is my personal business extension. I’m in charge of Ito developments in Mt Komorebi. Who are you again?
Kaori is unsure what to say. Kiyoshi did not take their break up well. If she says it’s her he might just hang up, and the park would be out of reach. But if she says nothing he’s definitely hanging up.
Tumblr media
Kaori: It’s me, Kaori
For a long moment Kiyoshi doesn’t respond and Kaori checks to see if he’s hung up on her. He hasn’t.
Kaori: I know things got messy but I really care about Mt Komorebi. I know the boy I knew did to. Please, tell me how to reach your father
Kiyoshi: It wouldn’t matter. He’s put me in charge of the developments here, the offer on the park was mine
Kaori: Oh. Perhaps we-
Kiyoshi: I… I’m actually not doing anything for dinner. Can I take you out and we can talk properly? Otherwise my schedule is pretty tight for the next few weeks
Kaori: Kiyoshi I’m married
Kiyoshi: I heard. She can come if you want
Kaori: She’s actually training tonight. But if it’s the only time you have free, I’ll come
Tumblr media
Kaori arrives at 5-3-1 Shinrinyoku. This restaurant was built by the gallery's own KA0260. Kiyoshi is already there.
Kiyoshi: You look good. Really good
Kaori: I see your father finally got you in a suit
Kiyoshi: You never could take a compliment. I’ve come straight from the office, I’ll change inside
Kaori: Thank you for meeting with me. The park is important
Kiyoshi: We can talk about it inside. After you
Kaori heads inside and Kiyoshi goes to grab a change of clothes. His mind drifts to the time he had the heart of Kaori, how was she even more attractive with age? And those glasses! He would bet they steamed up perfectly.
Tumblr media
Kaori gets seated first but it’s not long before Kiyoshi joins her.
Kiyoshi: Can we just address the elephant in the room snow-bird?
Kaori: I know we ended badly
Kiyoshi: Badly? I worked for my dad on top of my schoolwork to get you that engagement ring, and what did you say when I proposed to you in front of all of our family and friends?
Kaori looks down ashamedly. It had not been her best day.
Kiyoshi: If you thought you were a lesbian, why not tell me before that? As a proposal response it’s not ideal. I would have listened
Kaori: I never liked any of the girls we went to school with beyond crush level. But the weekend before you proposed I went to the night club and I saw a European woman and… I realised I wanted her in a way I didn’t want you. I did think what we had was love but-
Tumblr media
Kiyoshi: It was love
Kaori: I never desired you Kiyoshi. Not the way I’m attracted to women, to my wife
Kiyoshi: Really? Because I can think of a few woohoo sessions where you gave the opposite opinion
Kaori: *sighs* Please, I want to talk about the park, not the past. We can’t let our personal feeling get in the way of what’s best for the area
Kiyoshi: You’re right. Can I have an 8 piece salmon for me and my friend will have…
Kaori: 8 piece salmon would actually be nice
Kiyoshi: Some things never change. Why do you want Hazakura Park
Tumblr media
Kaori: It’s a bit tricky to explain
Kiyoshi: Talk to me snow-bird
Kaori: It’s my responsibility to look after the mountain. A new subdivision is nothing without a communal space for residents to gather. To have a place to meet up and remember what colour grass is
Kiyoshi: *laughs* I’ve purchased other properties in the neighbourhood. I guess a park is a good idea. If it means so much I’ll buy it so the council can have the income but tell them to sign the deed over to you
Kaori: That’s… very generous. Won’t your father be mad?
Kiyoshi: Don’t worry about him. I want to do this, for you. I like seeing you happy, I like making you happy. Now, tell me about your wife
Tumblr media
Back home Kaori paces nervously, waiting for Charlie to get home. As soon as she does Kaori kisses her on the cheek and motions for her to sit.
Charlie: How was your afternoon? Were you able to get hold of Naoki
Kaori: I did ring the number but it wasn’t for Naoki
Charlie: Did Suzu give you the receptionist number because I could have googled that to be your hero
Kaori: No. It was the line for Kiyoshi
Charlie: Oh, him...
There was a few minutes of silence. Charlie didn’t know what response to give and Kaori wasn’t sure what her wife needed to hear.
Tumblr media
Kaori: We’ll be getting the park though Char
Charlie: We will? I thought you said that whole family was money obsessed
Kaori: I thought so. But Kiyoshi...
Charlie: He’s taking back the purchase offer?
Kaori: Not exactly
Charlie: What do you mean not exactly? He's either keeping the bid in or withdrawing it
Kaori: The council need money Char, Kiyoshi will pay them the cost of the property and he’ll sign the deed for the park over to us. That way we have more inheritance money left for the long term
Charlie: Did he happen to tell you this while staring at your boobs
Kaori: *angrily* No. I got his agreement in writing Char, he can’t take it back. And I wore my hoodie, you know my boobs get buried in it
Tumblr media
Charlie: Did he try to flirt with you
Kaori: He did but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. Believe me, he’s never forgetting I’m a lesbian after I ruined his proposal. He even asked about you
Charlie: Yes but you know straight cis men, half the time they think lesbians are a myth because no woman could possibly turn down their pixel parts
Kaori: Look, I don't want to fight about what he may or may not think. If he tries getting handsy you can kick his ass. How’s that?
Charlie: Good because I'll kick it from here to Sulani
Kaori: Now why don’t you finish your meal so I can remind you I am 100% attracted to you. I'm in a generous mood
Charlie: Sounds like a deal
Tumblr media
And with that, the Nishidake household is done for this rotation. I don’t know friends, it was really hard to get through this one. I’m not sure if I’m falling out of love with the household, or not finding much inspiration in their story, or just was unwell/stressed when trying to write and play. Or perhaps I was just trying to put off writing the first household of next rotation because I’ve decided to REDACTED. I really want to reach the summit with them, I’ve never played that before, but levelling up is hard when Charlie has a job that doesn’t require rock climbing. I’m considering skipping them next rotation, and perhaps returning to them in a few in game years when I can cheat the climbing skill up enough that they can survive the climb.

ASDHSAGFHDGAFHGAHGFAS EPISODE 10
need I say more?
Tumblr media
AND HE'S WEARING HIS SHIRT???
THE MORNING AFTER THEY HAD SEX (or perhaps just a very intense makeout session)
BRO THATS A POWER MOVE IF I EVER SAW ONE
Tumblr media
AAAASFHDSHFDSAFAHSDHSADH
Tumblr media
that's the first time ive heard someone refer to banging their boyfriend as "mind-blowing" and I honestly love it (I say through wheezing gasps of laughter that's hilarious kang)
Tumblr media
dont gaslight him bro
we all saw it
and it was tender and beautiful and lovely and perfect
and I swear if they pull an akkayan episode 6/7 and reveal that kang imagined the whole thing, I promise I will track down the houses of p'lit, p'toh, p'pratchaya and p'bee and I will personally smack them (and then while im there ill hug them and thank them for their amazing directing and writing because they're all incredible and im so glad these series exist because of them)
Tumblr media
THANK GOODNESS
IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, PHEW
Tumblr media
YES
YES PLEASE DO THAT
AND THEN WE CAN SEE GUYNAWA
because istg if they pull a soundwin and give us HEAPS of progression in episode 9 and then literally NOTHING in episode 10, I promise I will do what I said I would do if they pulled an akkayan episode 6/7
you better watch out directors and writers, your faces may be slapped shortly
Tumblr media
so soccer is a video game now? and the sailom-scent-shirt is like a special equipment thing with magical properties?
honestly if someone made drts into a video game id buy it. and I dont even have a gaming console.
I would buy a gaming console entirely for drts video game
Tumblr media
okay yeah I agree but I reckon it'll be fine, kang's dad has already paid a bunch of money so I doubt the coach will get too mad
but also I still want to believe that he got onto that team with actual skill and that the money exchanging thing just kinda happened, but it wasn't the reason he got on the team, you know?
so im hoping that maybe when they go to the training camp, the coach will explain everything?? maybe???
ALSO everyone on the team is gonna be IMMEDIATELY suspicious of kang and sailom. kang shows up several days late to training camp, and sailom is with him. theyll all be like 👀
my hope is that the first guy to figure it out will be the bloke in the red jersey because he was side-eyeing guynawa ALL of last episode
Tumblr media
AWWW
and see, there's something about the difference between what coach says here, and what his dad says a few episodes earlier
"Don't worry. I understand how teenagers are. I've been through it all, I understand" where he's familiarising himself with Kang, relating himself to him, remembering how messy his life was when he was a teenager, and using the "I get how teenagers are" line to comfort Kang when he is grateful for being given such a great opportunity
as opposed to "I get how teenagers are, they never want to study, you should just relax all the time" where he's using his understanding of teenagers from what he's seen during his election campaign (this was in the same conversation where he saw his son playing Fifa and kang got hopeful that maybe he could bond with his father, and his father said "ive seen many young people playing it during my campaign". he relates everything back to himself, the election, and general teenagers as a concept rather than as complicated human beings that you should try to connect to if one of them is, oh I dont know, your son?). and the line is overlooking and dismissing the stress of school and being a teenager. and he never once asks his son if he wants to study. he assumes that he doesnt, because of what he knows about teenagers entirely from observing during his campaign. the man doesnt sit down to talk to his son and learn things about him and to help him and give him advice, like a father should. he's never around to do so.
but then coach says such a comforting thing and he words it in the right way and even talks about how he himself was once a teacher, and he understands what kang is going through, even if he doesnt know all the details
oh would you look at that I wrote an essay
I could actually turn that into an actual essay if I wanted to
the exam i have on king lear in less than two weeks can sit to the side for a while, kangsailom are far more important
Tumblr media
GUYNAWA WALKED ONTO THE FIELD TOGETHER THEY WALKED ONTO THE FIELD TOGETHER AAAAAAA
Tumblr media
PLS I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
hes like korn but... better
love korn but idk, he kind of asked the same kinds of questions and made fun of his friends in the same sense that guy is now, but he did it differently and it came off in a more intrusive/inappropriate/rude way than the way guy's doing it if that makes sense? idk
Tumblr media
so you decided to go outside where name is?
what, are you planning to do him
(this is the second time in two episodes that ive made a joke about saifahname doing each other, what is wrong with me)
Tumblr media
name is taking notesss
he's cooking up that robbery plan (??)
Tumblr media
YOU COULD TRAVEL THE WORLD TOGETHER
HOW CUTE WOULD THAT BE
AND NAME LOOKS SO HAPPY HERE
ITS A TERRIBLE SCREENSHOT BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, YOU'VE SEEN IT, HE'S SO HAPPY AT FINDING OUT THEY HAVE THIS IN COMMON, AND HE'S SO HAPPY THINKING ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES OF TRAVELLING THE WORLD GJIERKBGS
Tumblr media
he remembers things about him
HE REMEMBERS THINGS ABOUT HIM
okay I know it seems like im pushing a romantic agenda on saifahname, but even if they have an entirely platonic relationship, I still love them and their dynamic so so so much
Tumblr media
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
its been years since they were in high school, literal years since they last saw each other and literal years since they last had a decent conversation with each other, and yet saifah still remembers that one tiny detail about the guy
like what the hell
Tumblr media
EVERYTHING????
IM CRYING
WHAT THE HELL MAN
is this the part where he professes his undying love for him that flourished when they were in high school and it faded into the background for a few years when they were apart, and then he reconnected with him and all those past feelings came rushing back at once?
(im like. half kidding about this)
Tumblr media
okay, every line they say I become more certain that they must've had a thing in high school
like a "one-off, no feelings attached, experimenting" kind of thing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH MY
JUST KISS ALREADY??? OR HUG??????? DO SOMETHING, PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
IDC IF ITS ROMANTIC OR PLATONIC
START CRYING OR SOMETHING
Tumblr media
AND HIS SMILE
I AM VERY MUCH NOT OKAY
ITS A CRAP SCREENSHOT BUT WHEN SAIFAH DOES THAT BIG WIDE GENUINE SMILE IT BREAKS MY HEART A LITTLE BIT BUT ALSO MENDS MY HEART A BIT AT THE SAME TIME
Tumblr media
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
oh
so the determination for the robbery that's probably coming up isn't gonna be for entirely selfish reasons
its for wholesome adorable possibly-gay reasons
be gay do crime folks
Tumblr media
Im loving the theme of debts in this series
and not just in the form of actual money debts
other debts, like the debt of gratitude that name owes this guy
or with kang's dad and his idea of "its my way of apologising" "its my way of helping you" and how those gestures were ways of forcing saifah and kang into owing him a debt
debt is such a weird word
but yeah. and like, even the debts have debts in a way
name, a debt collector, owes his employer a debt
ging is offering to pay all of sailom's family's debts, so long as sailom tutors kang and gets him into a good public university. so now sailom owes ging a debt of gratitude, and if he fails at helping kang into a public university, then he has not only his actual money debts, but he'll have the feeling of guilt on his shoulders for not achieving that goal
I just think its really interesting
Tumblr media
OHHHHH
OH OKAY I GET IT NOW
that makes a lot of sense
man I hate this guy
Tumblr media
YOU SEE, AND THIS WOULD BE VERY INTERESTING AND CRUCIAL INFORMATION THAT HE SHOULD'VE TOLD HIS SON, SO THAT HIS SON DOESNT FEEL ALONE??? SO THAT HE CAN TRY TO RELATE TO HIS SON IN SOME WAY???
I dont think this man has any idea how to be a father
he has no clue what hes doing and he's not even trying to figure out what he should do
he literally said last episode that kang just gets like that sometimes, and he just leaves the house because hes mad and angry and has a lot of emotions, and he comes back within a few days
maybe instead of just waiting it out, he could TALK to his son and say "hey kid, I know you're going through a rough time right now, I get it. I want you to know that you can talk to me if you want to or need to, because I've been through the exact same thing - I used to run away from your grandmother for weeks on end because I was angry with her. so I know exactly what you're going through, and I understand that its really difficult and scary being a teenager, but if you need it, you can talk to me about this, and I can offer what best advice I have" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT???
JUST TALK TO YOUR SON BITCH
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PART OF HIS LIFE
Tumblr media
THAT'S ADORABLE
SAILOM I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Tumblr media
Y E S
FINALLY
GOOD JOB BITCH
HES GONNA GO SEE THE GAME
TAKING INTEREST IN YOUR SON'S INTERESTS, GOOD, FINALLY, YOU'RE GETTING THERE
IT ONLY TOOK YOU 18 YEARS BUT YOU'RE FINALLY GETTING THERE
Tumblr media
JKDFGBEDVFS
ITS LITERALLY HIS MOTTO AT THIS POINT
HES SAID IT IN FOUR OUT OF THE LAST FIVE EPISODES WE'VE HAD
I LOVE IT SO MUCH
Tumblr media
that's the way he appears out of thin air? not sitting next to him, or saying anything? just silently handing him a bottle of water?
come on man, work on your dramatic flair
anyway, I so hope that while they're sitting there watching, kong does the classic "so you and my son have something special" line where its super unclear if the parent knows they're in a romantic relationship, or if the parent just thinks they have a strong everlasting bond of friendship
im thinking specifically of uther talking to merlin about him and Arthur in that one episode
Tumblr media
"im not busy" but... the governor's birthday?
I mean I agree that the governor isn't important, but I didn't think he'd think that
OH WAIT
THIS IS DEFINITELY THE FIRST TIME HE'S PRIORITISED HIS SON'S INTERESTS AND DESIRES AND HOPES AND WISHES AND DREAMS OVER THE BLOODY ELECTION CAMPAIGN
HERKSJGDB
GOOD JOB MY GUY
THIS SHOULDVE HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO BUT IT IS HAPPENING AND THE VERY DEEP WOUNDS ARE FINALLY STARTING TO HEAL SO THIS IS WONDERFUL
CRAP IM OUT OF IMAGES
30 images is really not many

Supa team 4:
Supa team 4:
I have never felt more seen by any show.
I would like everyone to know something about me, and my physical form out side of tumblr (yes I do have one actually). I am African-America,  and I shaved my hair. I also struggle with the feeling like I’m not black enough, one of those reasons being because of the fact that I don’t have enough hair to lock or braid. ‘Why am I telling you all this?’ You may ask, because with all this, a single show managed somehow help me and my struggle. When I tell that this show in eight episodes talking about teen girls becoming superheroes made me feel more seen than any (black, lgbtqia+, neurodivergent) focused show I’v seen so far I am telling you the TRUTH. For me it’s a 10/10 and I will recommend to anyone.
Characters.
I’ll be honest with you. I see no flaws with the characters. In fact dare I say, this show has some of the best made characters i’v ever seen. With like actual depth, since the character are not only used for representation; writers can focus on the characters themselves. Which is rare to find, especially with black characters.
Marjory
Right now my favorite character is Marjory. For multiple reasons but the main one being that she has no hair. Her hair is actually similar to mine, the only difference being I use designs (so people can differentiate me from others boys). The other being, she’s so rude(/affectionate). She always has something to say and often comments on the four main girls and of the girls don’t really like but never comment on her hair because it’s normal. We don’t see much of her character through out the first season but I’m (REALLY!!!!) hoping that we get to see her more and have the writers add more depth to her character.
The main 4/ The Supa 4/ Momma K’s team 4
I love them all so much. They are all such amazing characters. The Supa 4 consists of Komana, Monde, Temwe, Zee, and Mama K. These writers KNOW what they’re doing, this is  a middle school; this is the experience. Each of the characters feel like an extension of myself and it hits hard.
First up we have Zee. Zee is the tall, skinny, athletic girl which I love because her body type is basically mine. I can understand her when her episode comes up and she becomes over confident, in a way it shows that in the future she might be insecure, because people who get overconfident that quickly are often insecure. Zee plays for the schools football/Soccer team and is very good at. She also seems to love it as well because that is her weapon when they power up!
Next we have Temwe! Temwe our short queen, she is represented as an empty hole who is willing to eat anything. Apart of her character is that she has some anger issues and is a bit of a troublemaker. In middle school I felt/feel like I always was doing something wrong even in primary school it was always me doing the wrong thing. I do headcannon that she has ADHD sense in one of her episodes she had to studying to prevent getting kicked off the team. I also believe that she maybe a favorite of the principal, despite how hard he is on her.
even in the last episode he states how he sees himself in her.
Monde is nextttt! Monde is the plus size queen.  This is once again a thing with the character designs, she is chubby not slimed down, not sexualized(she is in middle school btw.) she is just chubby, and this one character probably impacted so many people. She struggles with feeling left out in the friend group because of her being new to the school which is quite relatable. I also love her relationship with her sister, she lives with her sister meaning she is growing up with a strong woman! She is also the most involved with my favorite character: Marjory.
Last but not least Komana. Komana is the second shortest, and the smartest of the team. She brings her A game when it comes to her smarts and does lack in the creativity department. She also is the only character (so. far/excluding Monde sister) with a ‘love interest’ which I love. She struggles with her self worth, thinking that everything she does has to be great and if it isn’t then she failed. She spent an entire episode feeling like she wasnt good enough showing so much of her character!
How does this make me feel?
I feel so very seen by these characters. In a way I feel like I’m being talked to threw these characters and I feel heard. Zee being similar to my body type is just like clarification, that the writers see me and others like me. Temwe is not only a character that I feel like the watchers can put themselves into but can match a person too.  It has been far too long where (kid) shows have been to afraid to represent any sort of body type that’s similar to Monde’s, but not this show. Komana is the one showing not everything will be easy for you and that feels good to see.
