You absolutely can.

Now is a great time because technics are cheap as fuck (relatively) right now. They're popular because the motor NEVER dies. The Numark Tt series is the 2nd one I see people swear by. they will die after about 5 to 10 years, but are 200 (or less!) a pop. Ortophon needles got me spoiled, but for years I used other carts with weights on the headstock. (More for mass, rather than pressure)

Ok so there's this book that you can get used for next to nothing, I have given away at least 6 copies at this point, and ordered 4 at a time for this reason. This book *mostly* taught me to dj. It's timeless and tremendous, really.

But

I learned, and really got a better handle on, a lot of more advanced/crucial concepts by watching Ellaskins on YouTube.

HES SO GOOD AT EXPLAINING THINGS! he s always making new videos of the same concepts over and over so and explaining things differently everytime! But here's the hard part:

Practice everyday. Lots of small sessions are way better than one long one. Focus on beat matching with one ear in headphones and catching and throwing on time. Learning to best match with one ear in the headphones and one track out Loud is literally rewiring your brain. It's gonna take time. Learn to cover your mistakes, transition brashly and obviously, make LOTS of mistakes. Record and play back what you've done. Perfection is for the tasteless.

i think one of the most satisfying turns the bkdk/dkbk fandom experience has taken for me is that, when you read fanworks from 2021 or earlier you get the tsundere kacchan who'd never admit to feeling any kind of love related feeling to deku. and then i look at how canon went down and can't help the mad cackling because man we had no idea. we thought katsuki was gonna be like "as if i like you shitty deku go die *in denial*" for eternity. and hori really say: nuh uh. this boy COMMITS. this boy is gonna be SO OBSESSED and DEVOTED and he's gonna OWN IT. he's gonna be all "i'm gonna die thinking about him, i'm the one who steps up when that nerd can't take care of it, i'm bakugo kacchan, i actually want to spend my life at his side as heroes and i'll dedicate 8 years to making sure that happens". he's gonna be all determined and straightforward and *extending his hand* "come, deku! (let's chase each other for the rest of our lives!) (i'll keep your dream alive!)"
