This guide details how to install and optimize TS2 with essential fixes for modern systems in 2024 and beyond!

Includes download/install instructions for the full Ultimate Collection (w/ Starter Pack web install hosted on GitHub), as well as disc & Origin UC install info for those who own them, plus graphics setup and Sims2RPC/alternative fixes.

I'm doing the Human Enough Challenge by @squea, and I wanted to do a little prologue for Tycho's arrival on Earth.

#I may have gotten a little carried away editing this in Clip Studio...I painted all the blood (minus blood on face which is by nell)#human enough challenge #sim: tycho ida #sims 4 #sims 4 screenshots #sims 4 storytelling #how did they just stick their hand through that guy's chest? idk maybe they have really sharp nails or something #the pose was supposed to have a knife but I forgot to download it #I do not think there will be much violence later on; this was a rough moment for Tycho and also I have been playing the challenge for a bit #so the next several (at least) chapters/installments will be lighter #sims 4 story

eeehhhhhh I’m not feeling this redesign but here it is

I mean, I like it better than canon, but it just doesn’t look too great, and the name I was going to use (Braires) is already the name of the guard at Tartarus, so I had to settle on this, and it’s just kinda meh, but honestly, it’s not going to be perfect, and i unfortunately have to accept that. So here’s Polymeliac Hero: Hekatonkheires

camouflage pattern

no weird eyes

more muted colors

knee pads

steel knuckled gloves

pointy ears

mask is separated from the rest of the costume

extra arms cut off at the wrist instead of having a joint where the hand would be

forgot the shading where the clothes are casting a shadow on his skin but it’s ok

COLD WEATHER VERSION:

poncho

slightly darker colors

thicker gloves(not fingerless)

thicker fabric(not visible)

WARM WEATHER VERSION:

lighter colors

lighter fabric(not visible)

thats it

this was honestly fairly rushed, but idk it turned out ok

Wow. I can go into my search bar and there are no ads. I can't accidentally swipe left and find even more ads. I can search all my documents and there's still no ads. There are no random pop-ups in the corner trying to sell me something. It's so quiet here. Have I been overwhelmed this entire time?

#I have no idea how to install DaVinci Resolve and I'm going to have to be okay with that until this starts to make sense #I do however have Audacity Trelby Reaper and LibreOffice which at this point is most of what I need #Gotta download some extra stuff for reaper tho it's a little naked rn. Hopefully I still have that email someone sent me

Hello any technologically inclined mutual. My computer mutual. What do I do if a game says I need to update my graphics drivers but Windows doesn’t offer any updates. Game opens and plays on Home Screen for a bit, then crashes and says the driver needs an update. worried I may have asked computer to bite off more than it can chew but I’m not enough of a computerhead for this

#for reference the processor is AMD A12-9800 #nothing funky with it as far as I can tell usuall driver r7 graphics and all #minimum specs for the game are AMD FX-8350 #which seeing as it’s 2012 and mines 2017 I was hoping meant I clear minimum specs BUT #again this is not my wheelhouse #despite having a solid bit of computer knowledge specs is where my head goes guh huh #and unfortunately #I’m not used to updating these drivers manually either #whenever I get these kind of errors I never figure out how to fix them or it’s actually incompatible #I think the last driver update was 2023. one moment #oh fuck ok. last configured 2023 #also when it first started #according to device manager #driver date: 04/21/2009 #seems VERY dusty #Driver Version: 10.0.1.19041.2728 #I downloaded the AMD software installer but it is no use just sends me back to the webpage and tells me to fight for myself #is VII the same graphics driver?#THERE ARE TOO MANY NAMES FOR THESE FUCKERS #anyway if a computer mutual comes to my aid u will have my heart tysm #sorry if I sound really dumb TT

So uh what do you do when

- Laptop bluescreens for no obvious reason

- The automatic troubleshooter doesn't work

- Trying to boot in safe mode gives an error message

- The tool that's supposed to roll back the most recent software update gives an error message

- You create your trusty Installation Media and try to use the "reinstall system files but don't delete my files" type option and it just loops back to the bluescreen troubleshooting menu

- You try to fully reinstall Windows 11 from the installation USB and get the above photo.

#lace's personal stuff #why do I have such bad luck with this shit #I don't even know where to go from here bc the first step in what I'm trying to do #supposedly is completely erasing everything on the drive #so how does that fail? is there something wrong with the installation media usb...#that I downloaded from the Microsoft website this morning???

Fabric is supposedly more optimized than forge. Both of them still have mods being developed for them but imo fabric has more interesting ones and they tend to run a little better

#dibi #minecraft #by far the most annoying part of the whole affair #is how EVERY MOD WANTS FIVE HUNDRED MORE SUPPORTING MODS #it's like installing skyrim animation mods #i love the paraglider in skyrim that mod is legit a game changer #but installing it is like. okay download seven framework mods. two of those require mods to rewrite the entire codebase #oh one of those mods is gone. find a dodgy mirror reupload #oh the game updated. figure out which version to downgrade your game to so it still works #then reinstall everything #i've more or less given up on modding skyrim bc of it suddenly updating again #but minecraft was easy in the end by comparison #i just needed a LOT of supporting / framework mods huh #i couldn't get bobby to work #i might need to try distant horizons instead #or something...#there seemed to be a few options for the same thing

thank god for indie devs making like tiny little maximum 10 megabyte freeware games on itchio keeping the art of filesize optimization alive. ASSET REUSE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#im watching a video about wario land music -> 'the bizarre music and sound design of wario land 4' by geno7 #good video so far! i like this guys stuff. he talked a bit about how they did some of the sound effects for warios voice #a very like. chopped and remixed sample style of doing his vocal lines. which is very cool 1) because it saves a bit of #precious space on that gba cartridge BUT ALSO 2) it just sounds cool and interesting stylistically #and man sometimes trying to keep a file size down really does give way for some really interesting stuff #on my own personal interests in games i ADORE rpg makers rtp and how people can find creative uses for it #i love that a bunch of games can draw from the same asset pool as one install on ur computer #no bloating your hardrive with a bunch of copies of the same assets - its just already here!#and from a developers perspective i love when they reuse old assets from other games in new weird ways #some small visual novel companies will reuse backgrounds and other assets #altho i dont mind a bit of bloat with VNs since a big draw can be the big pretty images and big pretty sounds #but its still cool when people find ways to get creative with space saving. and from a players perspective its also nice #space is cheap nowadays. but its not Free. we can swallow terabytes whole with micro sds and everything #but a lot of players dont get the chance or ability to upgrade their internal memory that often. so i think being considerate of filesize i #very important. and thats not even getting into the download bandwidth limits - a lot of people all across north america can only get like #internet from 1 provider and that 1 provider often likes to upcharge and limit shit because they can #we might live in a future where a lot of powerful technology exists. but access to that tech is another story #so remember the filesize. remember the filesize.#dies in your arms
