It is now the OFFICIAL start of this year's creative works fest, and our mods are super excited to celebrate with you all!

** Please remember the restriction to stories is all characters in the main pairing must be 17+ and there are to be no adult/minor pairings allowed within the story even as a side pairing. **

May Spring Round Masterlist

May was such a busy and amazing month filled with so many flower creations for different ships! We had a total of 37 works created for this round. That’s 32 fics, 2 art pieces, 2 fic AND art pieces and 1 podfic, with top 3 ships being Snarry, Tomarry and Drarry. The challenge may be over for now, but folks can still pick any HP Flowers Spring prompt card, make a creation and submit it to the AO3 collection, which will stay open until the end of the year. The eighth year table was packed, and he didn't want to throw the table in disarray by elbowing and squeezing himself to his friends’ side. So he took a seat at the only place that had clearly been left empty on purpose—next to Draco Malfoy.

Draco is anxious, overwhelmed, and scared of his own shadow. He does not tell anyone about the flowers. The flowers tearing his lungs to shreds, the vines climbing up his throat, the heart that beats wildly in his chest whenever a certain Gryffindor sneers at him in the halls. Draco tells no one, and that is his first mistake.

Summary:  Teddy never expected to become a model for Nimbus, and he definitely didn't expect any of the adverts to catch Harry and Draco's attention. But now that it's happened, Teddy can't deny he gets a thrill every time he catches Harry and Draco staring, and he's going to do everything he can to keep their eyes on him.

HP Rec Fest, Day 10

Love this @hprecfest prompt! Fest fics deserve all the love especially when the fest is posting and they’re still anon. That’s why I try to make fest rec lists as often as I can which is not as often as I’d like (the amount of new fics gets overwhelming sometimes!). I’m very pleased with my choices here, the Drarry fic has just been posted on Erised and the Dronarry fic is one of my favourites of the year. Here’s my cue to give a shoutout not only to @hd-erised and @dronarryfest but also to all HP fests (you can find a compilation here). Thank you dear mods and creators for organizing these events and giving us so many treats over the years ❤️

When Draco returns to the UK after two decades of building his career as an internationally-renowned artist to look after his ailing, estranged father, he crosses paths with his former flame, Harry Potter, in the most unexpected way.

of course I’m taking this opportunity to rec a brand new fave from this year’s Erised 😌 MA hit all of my buttons with this gorgeous break up make up story. here Harry & Draco are older and wiser; I love the mutual pining and deep understanding both share despite being apart for so long. their reunion is gentle, mature and uncomplicated, with lowkey angst revolving Draco’s complex relationship with his father.

The Sun, Shining Above You by @oknowkiss (Harry/Draco/Ron, E, 14k)

Since joining up with the dragontamers, Draco counts his days in nights. Nights spent drinking in the commune mess, making poor choices he doesn't regret, for once. Nights he doesn't remember, and nights he wishes he could stop remembering. Then there's that night in Spain, caught in the circle of Ron's arms. A year of nights in Norway, caught in the heat of Harry's gaze. His first night at the Burrow, caught in between them both.

Dronarry Fest my beloved 🥹 this fic was my absolute favorite and I cannot accept how criminally underrated it is. I was very much here for the triad sex ofc but when I tell you the Dron scenes gave me the heart kick! I didn’t expect to fall for them but got completely entranced by their chemistry, dialogue and UST. this story made me long for them and adding this perfect Harry to the mix just made me salivate. I love how the tone alternates between playful, sexy and intimate. can’t rec this enough!

This year has had many ups and downs, and as of late it feels as if the whole world is a down. Real life has really smacked me down, and I've felt so isolated from all of the things and people I love. But as ever, the world is looking up, and I can see the light...and looking back brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I've accomplished so much that I don't give myself credit for. More than I'll dare type up here, but let's go through the highlight reel, shall we?

For my dear friend Beth's birthday, I finally posted some of my HP Astro work to AO3! (Speaking of which, I really should work on adding more soon...)

A_Loveunlaced (@a-loveunlaced) is an artist I very much admire, so the start of the year was super cool getting to chat with them, seeing their Snarry art, and writing a ficlet for said art, Again (and Again).

Delved into and fully embraced the controversy by running HP Chan Fest with @cindle-writes, which was such a cool and meaningful experience.

Plus I wrote some fics I'm really proud of for said fest: profane holy, Cruel Summer, The Virgin Bride.

Also my dear friend Viran (@mrviran) drew some fanart for Cruel Summer, I believe while it was still anonymous and everything! But she also totally called that it was me who wrote it, which is always fun for me when people know me in the Anon stages!

I wrote more fics for Kinkuary and Kinktober (which I always love!)

Shared more meta on AO3 with The Half-Blood History (I really do need to import more meta there!)

Finally wrote and posted chapter 3 for smile with sweet surprise (aka Stepdad Snape fic)

Started writing and sharing WIPs I've been long excited for: Wasted for Love (Golden Triad + Snarry) and A Taste for You (Sugar Daddy Harry).

I ran HP Fruit Fest solo! Which was a lot, but I had fun and I was super thrilled to not be the only one super into fruit!

I taught myself how to bind books, and now I have a growing collection of bound fics! Check out #danpuff binds to see some!

More recs, as ever, but especially the ongoing Dead Dove Diaries series of rec lists.

Speaking of recs, I'm helping mod @hprecfest, which is so fun for me! I love seeing people's recs, and I love being part of an event that is spreading so much fun and love around the community!

Also, making my own recs for the event! I've got at least one fic queued up for each day, I think! And some days have even more!

For Snarry-a-Thon I wrote a companion piece to last year's Contempt (aka my heart and soul), called Devotion, which my friend Aristi kindly beta read for me! The whole series is so deeply meaningful to me and it feels so huge to add more to it.

For Snarry Bang, I teamed up with my pal Viran (@mrviran) for The Curse of Anteros. I wiffle-waffled on what to write for the longest time, but my vacation to Orlando unlocked something in me. The whole fic hit me like a hurricane and came out in like a 2 week period. And the art Viran created for it is spectacular (I'm still obsessed). Oh, and it was such a treat having the fabulous @writcraft beta! There's nothing quite like having a creator you admire help your work be its best version!

And, of course, I had another opportunity to chat with my friend Beth for @fanficmaverickpodcast, with the episode: A Very Snarry Christmas.

And lots more, but this is plenty enough to be going with! Not half bad for the year, yeah? 😄

Summary: The war is over—but for Ron, Harry and Hermione, the battle to find themselves and repair their broken pieces is not yet done.

A beautifully and tenderly written hurt/comfort fic set in the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts. Ron is the glue that holds the trio together here, caring for Harry and Hermione with gentle devotion. There’s no dialogue needed to tell this story, just Ron’s perceptive POV that captures the grief and love that compel him. I have a soft spot for this triad forming immediately after the war, as a way of holding onto each other and holding themselves together. Maester's fic makes their transition from friends to lovers feel like the first step towards healing.

October Autumn Round Masterlist

Totally aware this roundup is very late, but better to post now rather than never, right? October had a variety of flowery creations for different ships that deserve shout-outs. Hermione was surprised when she received an invitation to the grand opening of The Gardens at Malfoy Manor, a botanical garden for flora and fauna, both Magical and Muggle. Wiltshire breathed a sigh of relief when the two finally came together among a sea of Dahlias.

Snucissa (Lucius Malfoy / Narcissa Black Malfoy / Severus Snape)

Three ships: Literally impossible to narrow down. Right now my thoughts are full of Draco x Ron x Harry (Dronarry) and all combinations of the three of them, Ron x Cormac (Rormac) and I can't stop thinking about a Ron x Hermione x Draco triad after reading the Evergreen Game. Basically, any and all ships featuring Ron, my beloved.

First ship: Dramione <3 closely followed by Drarry. I don't care about supposed feuds, I LOVE them all!

nope. impossible question. my ogs are wolfstar and drarry, but i also adore pansmione/pansromione, fleurinny, ginsy, jegulus, jegulily... so many ships so little time...

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i tried to do nano with original fiction several times and none of them really stuck, which im sad about because some of the ideas were banging - lesbian vampires through time, anyone?

16. What are your writing strengths?

ok this is the hardest question by far...

i think i am quite good at the introspection, and characters having to think through their situations, figure out how they actually feel. i blame all the therapy...

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

confidence and run on sentences. i was editing a fic yesterday and found a sentence that was nearly half a page...

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i dont mind it, but i think it has to fit the story. but one of my pet peeves is when people but dialogue in another language and then put the translation in the chapter notes - i have a goldfish brain and by the time i get to the end of the chapter i have forgotten what the dialogue was about

dont make me choose between my babies! maybe the one that i cant talk about yet (i feel its the most up to date representation of my writing at the moment), maybe my wolfstar witcher!au (longest uploaded fic, and i really struggled to finish it but im so proud of myself for getting there), maybe my soulmate fest one (i was so not happy with it but everyone seemed to like it and it reminds me that i am my own worst critic)
