I always see some videos and posts about Pink Diamond and the ongoing discussion of people judging her for everything she has done. I must say that I love EVERY morally ambiguous character because, to me, only such characters truly represent humanity with 98% accuracy. Observing how people pass judgment on them demonstrates our capacity for hypocrisy. If you were to put a camera to record people's lives 24/7, you'd realize that not every decision they make during the day is the best one. If any of you have seen My Hero Academia, you might recall a statement made by Deku in the last season: "It's not just black and white. Most of the world is gray, filled with uncertainty and anger." So, every time I witness people criticizing morally ambiguous characters, I wonder if they would act differently in their shoes.

I had the opportunity to witness this happen when the Brazilian streamer Cellbit, the creator of Paranormal Order (an RPG game that has gained popularity outside of Brazil in recent months), forced his chat to confront their own biases. The Paranormal Order fandom, at least the Brazilian part, is known for its toxicity. So, Cellbit ran a spin-off called "Sinais do Outro Lado" and did something remarkable: he left the fate of ALL the characters on the table in the hands of the chat. Whether someone would live or die was entirely up to the chat. Without giving too much spoilers, it didn't end well. The amusing part is that people were constantly suggesting that player X or Y should have made different decisions to achieve a better outcome, but when the time came, they couldn't live up to their own words. Furthermore, I believe that if Cellbit hadn't designed that part with the expectation that the players would collaborate with the chat, everyone would have survived (if only you had seen the spam chat gave).

So, this isn't a post aimed at passing judgment on whether Pink Diamond was good or bad. Instead, it's a reflection on how I think people can be hypocritical when trying to assess someone's choices and actions.

I didn't know he was wearing his father's clothes. omfg he loves his family so much. Just like that post about all the changes he made to be a good guardian for the twins and then they almost decided to run away. This is just another example of that. He wears his dad's clothes and when his brother sent him that post card saying "please come" he went, and when he fucked up and lost his brother he spent the next thirty years trying to get him back dealing in machinery and mystical forces he does not understand. He loves his family so much even when they don't love him. In one of the episode's commentary tracks (land before swine?) there's a story Stan tells about how Ford made a kissing robot to learn how to kiss correctly and the only way to turn it off was to kiss it good. And it went off in class and Ford had to kiss the disembodied head in front of everyone to get the siren to stop and then he says "HAHAHAHAHAH hahahaha HAAAHAHAHA..... he was still more popular than me". And is that hilarious? Yes. Is it also heartbreaking? Yes. for fucks sake someone just care about him. This isn't the story of an unpopular nerd brother and a popular street smart brother. This is the story of a golden boy and a black sheep. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I think transformers should lean more into the uncanny aspects, especially with their alt modes. As a treat. Like, at a first glance everything looks normal, but there are little things that only mechanics and car nerds pick up on, details that don't line up with the model, and even though it's turned off, something about it feels alive, and there's this lingering feeling that it's watching those who come near.

That's the WHOLE thing with being HUMAN

Humans are imperfect, fickle, multifaceted creatures, who are always going to make mistakes and hopefully - if they are given half a chance - they will learn to grow from their mistakes and make better decisions, and then probably make some more mistakes, and then grow some more, etc etc.. but We have to Give People A Chance to make a mistake, see the outcome, learn from it, and grow.

I'm so SICK so being afraid that something I do or say in my early 20s while I'm still honestly dumb af is going to come back and hurt 30-40 something year old me who is trying to do something in the public eye, like publish my first book or something.. and someone pulls up some idiotic thing I did or said once thinking that that culminates who I am as a person years after the fact

I hope cancel culture dies out before I ever manage to do anything worthwhile :( and just forgoodnesssakes forgive people
