I think you should see every place twice once with someone whose company you enjoy, and once alone. You will learn how others see or wish to see see a place and how you see them for yourself.
The experience is completely different.

Humayun's tomb in New Delhi was built by his widow, Bega Begum, who is also known by another name 'Haji Begum'. The name was given to her because of her pilgrimage to Mecca.
After the ascension of Akbar, it was expected that Bega Begum would go live with her stepson but instead, she chose to stay back in Delhi and build her husband's mausoleum. For this task, she had brought back masons and artisans from Arabia and a site was chosen to build the first example of a Mughal Persianate Garden tomb as a mausoleum. The design was exquisite - the first to combine elements of Central Asian architecture with Hindustani elements.

dubai house is so cursed the more i see pics like, it's a jail, it's humayun's tomb, it's got teeth-gnashingly interesting art around death and betrayal chosen exclusively by louis, it's got library archives that only armand can read, the only life in the place is a sanctimonious magnolia tree to remind them of the worst of times, like. that place needed an exorcism. daniel should have blown it up.

10 May In Indian History :
Tumblr media
.. 10th May 1857 .. the great Indian rebellion .. the 1st war of independence against the British at Meerut .. the rebellion began in the form of a mutiny of sepoys of the East India Company's army in the garrison town of Meerut ..
Meerut is situated between the holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna ..
Thanks to its geographical importance, the fertile Ganga-Yamuna doab had been an important centre of human activities since the very early times of Vedic Civilisation.
From the medieval period onwards, the proximity of this city to Indraprastha (present day Delhi) helped it play an important role in the affairs of India.
With the capture of power by the British, Meerut became a major military centre. The aggrieved Indian soldiers of the British Army began their fight against the imperial powers in this soil on 10th May, 1857. They captured the control of the city in one day and marched to Red Fort in Delhi, which was considered to be the symbol of control over the whole of India. On their way, they were joined by the common people who shouted patriotic war cries. By the next morning, Red Fort had fallen into the hand of the freedom fighters.

It has been a bit of a history lesson .. and after which it would be too severe to write anymore .. but simply to say , that the time at the Studio Saptaswar was visited after many an hour and days .. and the sonorous sounds for an upcoming film of Abhishek .. and of my own Section 84 , was I felt , in keeping with the moment and the story and the emotion ..

Humayun's Tomb Museum Illustrated Map Mural
Rod Hunt was commissioned by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture to create a huge and detailed illustrated map of the Humayun's Tomb World Heritage Site, Nizamuddin Basti and the Sunder Nursery for the new Humayun World Heritage Site Museum in New Delhi. The aim of the map was to help visitors understand the world heritage site, its dense ensemble of medieval monuments and its immediate setting. Rod worked closely with Ratish Nanda CEO of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture to create a detailed an accurate representation of the restoration and conservation of the historic tombs, monuments and wider site. This hugely complicated map illustration had to accurately depict the tombs and monuments architectural features down to the smallest detail. The final mural is printed at 12m x 4.5m in size and is installed in the vestibule gallery of the museum.
