The new scene has me in a chokehold
Thank you @andengeu for perfectly capturing the momentary shock of Nayeli and Blade being close to each other, and being aware of each other.

Hi Lena! I dug through the Halek tag and didn't find it but I'm curious, does his stag have a name? Do hunters of the reach have a close bond with their animals or no, and does/did every exorcist of the reach have their own stag or is that Sol Privilege?
Hi bi, thanks for your question! Halek's elk is named Iakul, while Naolin's is named Yakun. (These are common kid's names for elks in the Reach, similar to naming your dogs "Fido" and "Lucky"). The Hunters of the Reach venerate their yakku steeds and tend to treat them with the respect of knights with their horses, so they do share a close bond, but they are definitely treated as working animals and not pets! Every ordained exorcist in the Reach is given a yakku steed if they want one (not all necessarily do or fight better on-foot), but some "regular" Hunter people in the North ride them too, particularly those who serve as hunters or scouts! However, they're not seen really at all outside of the Reach, even by Hunter communities outside of it! So it's a Reach thing rather than a sol thing. Hope that makes sense!

Day 25/30 : Ben Shepherd (Morning) / (Matin)
He may be an army soldier and a very tall and strong fella, but let's not forget that he is getting a bit old.
At 56 years of age, Ben Shepherd is getting a harder time at waking up in the morning...

"I-It cannot be..."
The shaken voice called to the hunter in front of him.
"You...You are not Alu...!"
Backing away from the Wendigo, the Shepherd's gaze was one of fear. The hairs on his neck raising, as a chill shivered his spine. He wasn't keen on staying, quickly apologizing and trying to hurry off.
@ask-idv-shepherd
A curious click of a tongue at the sudden noise had the "Wendigo" turn its body slowly at the survivor. The shaking was tangible in the air while the 'mouth' of the hunter twitched slightly as if trying to say something or maybe even just an automatic motion. Should the survivor had stayed quiet or even not move then maybe the other would have passed quietly.
But he did so the hunter didn't.
A dying shriek came from the hunter - dry, hoarse with little in the way of tampering its sound as the hunter crouched a little to run after the survivor with a growl of hunger in its belly.

Someone asked me on twitter today what characters I’d want to be my dad and that has led me to the realization I can’t think of any characters in a parental way, and with dads specifically I can only see middle aged fictional men as a potential partner, with being good with kids being more of a romantic plus than anything else

Okay, this idea just came into my head and now it's like a plague that haunts my mind.
Imagine
The "Ipliers" and the "jse"'s are somehow all in one meeting place, it's a very rare moment where they are all there to discuss business or something else that is extremely important. One of them had brought snacks for everyone else (probably one of the "jse"'s), and they knew how much Mark likes Talkies. So they brought enough for all of the "Ipliers", so while everyone is talking business. They are also eating, so you can imagine the look of disgust and horror at the sight of all of the "Ipliers" 'eating' Talkies in the most horrific way.
The "Ipliers" have no idea why they are freaking out, so while they are trying to communicate every few seconds you can hear/see a Talkie dropping to the table. At this point, the "jse"'s are practically in TEARS. They end up just giving the "Ipliers" whatever they wanted, just so they would STOP and go away.

I recently read the mirror image story and I was wondering: can only male Hunters become exorcists, or can women and nb become exorcists as well
Hunters of any gender can become official exorcists!

CHAPTER 87-90 SPOILER WARNING
————————————————————————
just thinking random thoughts again
The carnation symbolizm
of course we all know a Carnation is a flower for a mother's love, and they're mother is no longer here, but they're younger in this image so I suppose their mother is soon to die seeing their age & all.
it's a light red carnation so it means admiration and friendship, we see them together here but a light red carnation can also mean minor interest, and from their lack of communication we can see them grow apart
so the name Dianthus caryophyllus (the species the carnation is) is believed by some people to be from the myth of Diana. there are plenty of variations of the myth but the one I'd like to point out is where Diana the god of the hunt is coming back from her forest from an unsuccessful hunt, quite inraged by it on her way back she encounters a shepherd who was playing the flute and blames him for spoiling her hunt because of the music, and in her rage killed him, she plucked his eyes out and afterward regretted it, and it's said that where the eyes fell, red carnations sprouted for the innocent blood lost. sense this series is all about myths and rumors, I was just thinking that some parts fitted them you know...
a Carnation flower doesn't lose its leaves, it hugs them until it dies.
doesn't that sound like what these two do, Teru sacrificed himself shoving Kou away from No.6 because he'd protect Kou no matter what, and it pays(hopefully not his life oml TwT) Kou (chapter 90) has gotten up to fight for those he loves and holds onto the hope of Teru being alive, Kou does this a lot doesn't he. poor guy
plus Teru holds Kou very close to his heart and we see them hold onto each other even though not much is shared between them. idk I'm shit bawling ig
