Can yen press or one of the other bigger ln publishers in america do me a personal favor and license a couple of the Shin Mimibukuro ghost story collections for english speaking audiences? You commission someone to draw a hot yurei or whatnot to stick on the cover, add some blurbs about "learn about the ghost stories as mentioned in hanako san" or whatever kids are into these days.
Actually the idea of my folklore collection having super weeby looking books is great but i would take like. A normal translated collection of shin. I know some (all?) Of the original 100 have english publications but i want More

Thinking About Yanagida
With the whole “Yanagida reviving Sanmoto” thing, I’m not even sure if it’s possible since the Brain no longer exists. The only reason Sanmoto came back in the first place was because the Brain (who basically is the manifestation of Sanmoto’s consciousness in the living world) absorbed Ao Andon’s remains and transformed into the demon king, but with Rikuo having destroyed him, that can’t really be done a second time.
Maybe Yanagida could find a way to create a portal directly to Hell, like what Seimei did, but this presents another problem: the version of Sanmoto in Hell isn’t the actual demon king form, he’s just in a human-like form where he presumably can’t do much.
Tumblr media
Although… because of the new “tale possession” ability, this improperly-revived Sanmoto could maybe absorb the new youkai he creates and build up his strength that way. He might even manage to retain his intelligence if he does it gradually like that, since becoming a mindless monster has always been the biggest weakness of his demon form, so I guess he really could become a major threat again after all.
I imagine Yanagida’s next power play would probably involve stealing folktales from Fuguruma-Youbi, since she’s collected centuries worth of history and oral traditions that he would love to get his hands on. This is a premise that could go in several directions, ranging from a funny story where he tries to get information by becoming her assistant but just ends up constantly aggrieved by her antics and getting his plans unintentionally thwarted (the type of humiliating servantfic I’m oh so fond of), or a serious continuation to the story where he succeeds and unleashes chaos onto the world through all the new tales he creates.
Wait… since Kyousai “the hands” also got killed, how will Yanagida even create youkai anymore? Maybe he still has the kettle that Sanmoto used in his human days, that’d probably do the trick. This whole operation certainly won’t be easy though, my mans really got his work cut out for him.

釣鐘人参[Tsuriganeninjin] Adenophora triphylla var. japonica
釣鐘[Tsurigane] : Temple bell
人参[Ninjin] : Ginseng; carrot
It is so named because its flower resembles a temple bell and its root resembles that of the asian ginseng.

Wakan Hyaku-monogatari Kiyohime Kiyohime was so much in love with Anchin that she chased after him wherever he went, and had already crossed even Hidaka River. But there were no boats on this side of the riverbank, so Kiyohime was nettled, jumped into the river and swam across without difficulty, half of her body turning into a serpent, and this jealousy was what was frightening. Every Thought Flies is out!
Download on Itch.io
One stormy afternoon, Gioele decides to play a ritual japanese game, The Gathering of 100 Supernatural Tales. It's a relatively simple game to play, after all; it requires 100 candles, a lot of matches, and willing storytellers with a fervid imagination - telling 100 weird stories in a row is not an easy task! At the end of the last tale, something strange is bound to happen... And what better storytellers than Felix, Noelia and Abele? So, the game show you the last four tales. Strange, weird, supernatural stories... also, somewhat painful memories. They claim their stories are all true; will you believe them? Maybe, inside this tales there is something more worrying than the possible ghost apparition at the end of the game...
Every thought flies it's an anthology of creepy tales using as a frame the japanese game Hyaku Monogatari Kaidankai.
It's not a really scary game, it's more like a cozy horror.
Features:
🕯️ 4 different cozy horror tales
🕯️ Atmospheric sound design (No RTP!)
🕯️ Sardinian folklore in the first tale
🕯️ Queer characters!
🕯️ Multiple endings for each story AND for the game
🕯️ For now, 3 CGs (planning to add more).
🕯️ 1h/1h30 of playtime
My first complete project! So happy right now-
This is the "chapter 0" of The Ash Black Cat series, but it works fine as a standalone game. Have fun!
(PS: Reblogs are really appreciated!)
