A lot of hermits depend on the moon to perform day to day (hah) tasks.

Towards the end of s8 however, with the moon displaying intense code- altering abnormalities, things took a turn for the worse.

Hypno was one of the more severely affected by the changes, with skull-splitting headaches and visions of the world ending and nightmares, along with him being able to understand phantoms. It was overwhelming.

He felt so stressed and tired. He’d go multiple days without sleep, trying to note down what he saw and heard and making XB worried sick.

XB helped as he could, offering comfort and a shoulder to cry on. There was a day where Hypno couldn’t take it anymore and broke down.

XB held him against his chest, rubbing his back, trying to find a way to calm down the both of them.

“There’s no way to escape” Hypno whispered, his voice hoarse and tears running down his face “it’ll get us all.”

“I’m sure Xisuma can find a way to-“

“Look at me” the other pleaded, looking into XB’s eyes, brows creased and eyes red from crying “It’s the end of the world, I Know it.”

It's then that xB starts building his escape plan. It still seems like a stupid idea, but it seems like that's all anyone has. And a stupid idea is better than no idea - at least right now.

If anything, xB just wants to get Hypno away from here. It hurts, seeing his exhaustion and defeat. xB doesn't tell Hypno about his project. The fear of it not working, building Hypno's hopes up just to crush them... xB wonders still if Hypno knows anyway, and is just not telling xB to be polite.

But xB still builds. What else is there to do?

Hermit Rarepair Event Trial Week Starts Tomorrow!

It's an event to promote obscure ships involving the hermits :) no themes, you don't have to make something every day, inspo posts will be made/ rbed and tagged with #inspo :))

My original post of this (here) laid out my initial ideas and ground rules, and for this trial week and its late entries we will be sticking to them, however for the full month i may change some things around (if you work hard enough, you can get your otp banned ! /hj)

The event's tag is #hermit rarepair event, but id also prefer if you tag the blog in your posts. There also will be an ao3 collection linked here when it is made

Full event will happen for the whole month of june, and i will be rbing late entries

Ok but imagine it: HCTCG Hermitshipping Edition

OK SO me& and my& buddy @cosmosisfold saw this one "Yaoi UNO" meme and began discussing how ships could be implemented in Hermitcraft TCG

The basic idea is that playing two or more hermit cards gives you special effects depending on the ship

This would work similar to how Beef's NHO ability works, except instead of damage it would be more like... inflicting poison on the enemy if your ship is toxic, or burn effect if it's slow burn

And you might say, "But holy TCG gods Jack and Pep! If you have all these insane free perks from getting all your hermits out in the field, then you wouldn't really need any cards other than the hermit cards!"

And to that we propose this limitation:

The effect would be called OTP, standing for One True Power, because it only works if the hermits it's for are the ONLY hermits in your deck. So basically, you choose your OTP before the game even starts.

Some examples of these OTPs would be:

"Take the enchanter" (Scarian) - gives you a completely random book item card regardless of whether or not it is in your deck, however you immediately lose a life (your Scar dies)

"Crafts supplies" (Jleo) - lowers the cost of all attacks by one item

"Whatever was going on at horse head farms" (Hypxb) - you can choose your opponent's attack on their turn due to an IOU (must select at least one attack, the opponent can still choose to use any effects and everything else)

"Hivemind" (Rendoc) - any damage received gets equally redistributed across all your hermits

and so on and so forth (feel free to leave your suggestions!)

Additionally we could rename the rarity types from Common, Rare and Ultra Rare to.... Beta, Omega and Alpha. Just because why not.

This is not super balanced yet but the basic idea sounds so fun already

Summary: When Hypno gets trapped, xB forces him into signing an IOU. Needless to say, Hypno isn't too happy about all of this.

Short HHF thing! I plan on writing a lot more of them, xB and Hypno do not have enough content in this fandom (platonic or otherwise)

Nobody really knew what exactly XB was - the fish tail and fins and gills didn’t give away much besides the fact he was tied to water. No one really minded either, barely anyone on the server is actually human after all.

That was until Hypno and him started dating, the first wondering why his partner had to take so many baths in one day.

He kept quiet for a while, but eventually their conversation landed on ocean life and Hypno semi-casually asked about it.

XB hesitated for a minute before taking off his hoodie and revealing the scales underneath, saying that he was a guardian hybrid.

Hypno had never seen such pretty turquoises and oranges before.

There was a lot of soft, nervous giggling that day. xB isn't used to people being so interested in his scales. Certainly not in the way Hypno is; as he asks endless questions and traces them with his fingers the entire time.

He doesn't even get scared when xB tells him about the laser. If anything, Hypno gets more excited, asking for a demonstration.

It's a nice feeling. xB hopes it's one he'll get used to.
