I need to say that i love you
Tumblr media
Michelle "MJ" Jones x fem!reader
*this one was heavily inspired by this perfect song:
warnings: cigarettes, little tension (a good kind, trust me), my writing.
word count: 1772
Tumblr media
(Y/n) and MJ had arrived at the fair without any problems. MJ had put the location on her cell phone and found the street, now closed because of the event, easily. They walked through the huge exposition of the fair. It was literally the whole street and it was very wide too, which was great because there were many, many shelves, so they weren't so close to each other. MJ and (Y/n) went together to several booths, they talked, laughed as always in a light and comfortable atmosphere that always happened when they were together.
Many times exchanging glances and discreet, but noticeable smiles. Like a whisper in your ear, like a secret confided to you, or a sensation so delicious, so particular that you feel like keeping it all to yourself.
Usually it was MJ who observed her the most. With her head tilted a little down due to their height difference. She liked to observe (Y/n) talking. How she talked to the salesmen about the books, she spoke very well. Almost no slang unlike herself, as if she were a book. But for MJ she must have been poetry, because they were a little hard to read, but when understood, they were simply the most beautiful and sophisticated art.
She also enjoyed admiring the redhead, even if from a distance now, because each went to a booth to look for books that interested her the most. MJ smiled weakly admiring the way her frown creased a little and how she gnawed the nail of her right thumb a little when she was concentrating. She stood a little bent over the book in her hand as she read its back cover. Every little detail about her seemed fascinating and the girl wanted to know more and more, as did that different feeling in her stomach that grew bigger and bigger when she thought about her.
For some reason she sighed still looking at her and decided to look down, she realized that she was in front of some children who wanted to look at some comic books that MJ was blocking her view of.
— Sorry guys — she stepped to the side looking at the three children. — Y’all want to see, right?
— Miss, can you get that one for me? It's too tall — the little boy, looking about 8 years old and with some missing front teeth, asked pointing to a comic book that was on a shelf.
— This one? — she asked, pointing to a “new issue of Spider-Man and Deadpool”. The boy nodded enthusiastically.
— Good choice — she said handing it to him, and the boy thanked her, and before she knew it. She started a conversation with the children filled with comic books in her hands and crouched down at their height discussing superheroes.
(Y/n) bought another book and, after thanking the sellerman, began to search for MJ with her eyes. Frowning when she couldn't find her, she remembered that the biggest one said she would be around. (Y/n) had the chance to buy a souvenir for MJ when she noticed that she was absorbed in everything around her looking at the cover of a book and when she returned the girl was in the same place, but now she was no longer. (Y/n) turned her body and noticed that MJ was talking excitedly with children. Two boys and a little girl. MJ made the children laugh and she herself smiled sometimes.
(Y/n) let her joy show with a chaste smile watching her, MJ had a way with children.
The mothers of the little ones appeared and after the three waved good-bye to the oldest as they walked away and MJ reciprocated, she stood and as the magnetism of (Y/n)'s gaze, MJ looked for her in the same place she was watching from afar and found her looking at her with a smile. MJ smiled weakly and drew her eyebrows together in a funny expression as if asking what was happening to (Y/n). Why the (y/h/c) haired girl was looking at her like that?
But before they could have any other kind of interaction, a rainstorm caught everyone there by surprise. The rain started suddenly without giving any indication in the clear sky that it was coming. Suddenly the heavy rain that started out of nowhere and closed the weather with you made MJ have only one reaction: to quickly approach (Y/n) and take her by the hand. (Y/n) let herself be guided by MJ while they looked for a marquee or somewhere to protect themselves from the rain like the people there. The fair was open-air, only the stands had a small awning to protect the books.
They both walked quickly through the rain, but that didn't stop them from getting very wet due to the intensity of the sudden rain.
MJ struggled to see a store that seemed to be closed with a small roof in front. She and (Y/n) arrived there completely soaked and panting. And holding hands, their fingers intertwined tightly as if they could get lost in that crowd yet, or because they didn't want to lose that pleasant contact even without touching that they had been holding hands all this time.
(Y/n)'s surprisingly sudden laugh made MJ look at her now. The laughter started brief and weak and began to escalate into a bigger level with the confused look MJ threw at the redhead. (Y/n) put her hand in front of her mouth without stopping laughing yet, MJ started laughing too because the redhead's laughter was contagious.
— Why are you laughing, you crazy? — MJ says between giggles still and shaking her head. (Y/n) stops laughing slowly, recovering when MJ pulls a wet strand of hair away from her face. She was too close again — Well, how nice that you regained your sanity, Y/L/N.
Just the opposite, thought the redhead.
— You're going to catch a cold — MJ comments, taking off her jacket and handing it to her. (Y/n) didn't accept it, she just looked at her with a frown.
— Oh, and you're not going?
— No, I never get sick.
— Sure, Jan — (Y/n) rolled her eyes, but then smiled right after.
— I'm wearing a sleeve shirt, I'll be fine. You're wearing a cropped top. Here — she insisted, offering the jacket in her hand again.
— No need to, MJ, i'll be fine.
— (Y/n), you made me wear sunscreen against my will, so it's only fair that you accept my jacket." The big girl simply put the leather jacket that was dry inside on (Y/n)'s back and slung it over her body by her shoulders. (Y/n) was clearly cold and hugging her own body. — Can you please just shut up and take it? Thanks.
— Bossy.
— Look who's talking... — MJ hisses raising her eyebrows quickly.
— What was that? — The smaller one narrows her eyes at her trying to hide a small smile that wants to form with the silly expression on her face that MJ made, as if she were a cute little child caught for doing something stupid.
— I didn't say anything!
— Yes, you did! — she laughed and started tickling MJ's belly, who was pulling away from her because she knew that the redhead knew her weak spot. They started laughing, one because of the tickling and the other simply because she got carried away by the laughter and the way her eyes almost closed when she laughed like that. — You said I'm bossy!
— No, I didn't! — MJ laughed even harder — Even though you are!
(Y/n)'s jaw dropped for a second and she moved away from the big girl. She straightened the jacket that was almost falling off her shoulders and pointed at MJ with her index finger.
— Take it back right now, Jones.
— Uh, Y/L/N… I'm so scared...
— Okay, you asked for it...
— Wait... n-no! No! I was kidding...
Eventually MJ managed to pin both of (Y/n)'s hands above her head after several laughs. (Y/n) was almost leaning back against the glass of the closed store behind her. Her (y/e/c) eyes were locked on the brown ones that were staring back at her intensely. It seemed like an eternity of time as it always was when the two girls looked at each other. The bubble they created around themselves seemed impenetrable. MJ took another step forward and looked at the hands that delicately held (Y/n)'s wrists and she made her hands intertwine, now consciously, not by instinct.
She knew and didn't know at the same time what she was doing. Part of her was only responding to what seemed to be the call of the magnetism she seemed to have to (Y/n)'s body, it seemed that she was always driven closer to her.
(Y/n) watched the larger one's movements and then her gaze went back up to her eyes, brown and a little dilated now. Then they wandered to MJ's mouth that had just become more eye-catching with the glow that her own tongue left there after wetting her lips with her tip quickly.
(Y/n) tried to control the beating of her own heart that began to speed up inside her chest as she swallowed dryly and looked again into MJ's intense, eager eyes. Again time seemed to pass so slowly, but torturously this time for some reason.
— Hey, you two. You're going to catch a cold.
Their little moment was interrupted by a sweet, gentle, yet concerned voice. They turned away and saw a short black lady with her body leaning forward, indicating a slight hump from years of bad posture. She had warm, tender black eyes.
— Come in, this rain doesn't look like it's going to stop now — the lady gestured for the two to enter. The lady came in, holding her pink coat around her body, waiting for the girls inside. (Y/n) looked at MJ quickly and gave her a dull smile for not knowing what to do right, she usually smiled when she was nervous. She then walked hurriedly to the entrance of the store holding her jacket and then disappeared from MJ's view.
The black woman sighed audibly since no one would really hear, trying to calm herself from what had almost happened now. She put her hands in her jacket pocket to get a cigarette, but remembered that she didn't have them or the jacket.
— Fuck... — she muttered to herself and took another deep breath before entering the store.

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well (and I hope these are the right email-adresses, Gwennie helped me look for them).
I also hope it doesn't seem too weird for me to suddenly reach out- it must be 12 years since we last saw each other, and I'm sure you've all got lots of things to do, not much time to reminisce about old times.
At least I know I felt that way- My daughter Cathy just got her first boyfriend, which took lots of long dinner-table talks, work is quite busy and our dog seems to have caught some sort of virus (or maybe he's just getting old).
But I'm not writing to you to complain about my boring everyday problems (though I'm sure you'd love to hear more about my dog's sickness, Gerard, I've heard you have two yourself?), I'm reaching out because I found something.
You see, I was researching for a new book, and in my perusal of an old calendar, I found the enclosed photo. I must have gotten it developed after our trip to New York on New Year's '75, but ended up never sending it.
So, after some struggle to convert it into digital form (in which Eric, Cathy's boy, helped quite a bit - I'm starting to think she might have good taste in boys after all), here it is, just 12 years late.
12 years. Funny to see it written out like that, isn't it? I honestly couldn't really believe it when I found the picture with a scribble of pencil beneath it - 01/01/1975. I remember that in our Welton days, I never would have thought we'd go that long without seeing each other, and it made me think.
I would love for us all to be part of each other's lives again, in whatever way seems fit- I've realised that I do not know what any of you are doing at the moment, where you live or if you've got family, and that does not feel right.
I've had to think of you all quite a bit these past years- I'd see a pretty girl in a red sundress and remember how enamoured with that Henley girl you were, Knox, or I'd hear a song and wonder if you had already listened to it, Steven.
If your busy lives allow it, wouldn't it be nice to meet up once again, or at least keep up some sort of correspondence over mail?
Let us seize the day once more.
All the best,
Todd

soft!billy hargrove because I got nothing better to do and I know we all need some fluffy, yucky stuff. ( I'm a sucker for those. zzz ) This is also for mi plus size girlies out there ( if you squint), me being one <3 slight enemies to lovers because WHY NOT. This is heavily inspired by robbers by the 1975. English is not my native language but I'm willing to learn, so give it to me. give me criticism and a lil mental stability. Thank you for reading !! ( Am I the only one that thinks the 1975 suits soft!billy so well? ) THIS IS A DRABBLE BTW <333 ( part two )
trigger warnings : uhh... mentioned Neil. I think that's all. Also!! this wasn't proof read, I just trust google docs.
Tumblr media
Robbers
She had a pretty face. Billy thought when he rolled his hips into her, thrusting with such vigour. He studied her face at that moment, he listened to her gasps, he saw how glossy her eyes had gotten. At times like this, Billy would chase his own pleasure, but he didn’t. He caressed her body, the curves she hated, he touched with love seeping from his fingertips that made her look up at him with the same gentleness. The kisses he gave upon her face and lips, fierce with need and an unspoken confession, leaving her breathless. She understood them, from his eyes, from the way he held her as his thrusts were painfully slow, suffocating, yet deeply nectarous. She looked pretty like this, beneath him with her hair splayed out messily on the pillow. Her nails dug into his forearm, and her melodic moans filled his ears. He wanted - needed more, thus he re-positioned his hip to hit her sweet spot. The gasp she let out made him groan, burying his face into her neck.
“Is this how much you hate me, doll?” he sighed delightfully, kissing her neck softly which was the opposite of his brutal thrusts. His thrust, rough and deep. It was agonisingly pleasurable. She begged him, unsure for what. He filled her perfectly, up to the point that his tip was bruising her cervix deliciously. She couldn't speak. She was a mess, the strong headed girl he first met was gone. Replaced by a teary - eyed girl that had a light in her eyes, one he has never seen before nor understood. “So much, bee. You ruin me,” She cried, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, pulling him impossibly closer. He did, he did ruin her. A selfish part of him wants to keep it that way, to keep her. He was too damaged to be loved by a pretty thing like her, but he wanted it. He wanted all of it.
“But you don’t want me to stop,” He grunted, nearing his climax and so was she. She shut her eyes, shaking her head. Before she could say anything, he pressed his lips against her with brutal passion then he felt all of it. The hatred from the first day they met at the canteen and to the day he found her crying at her porch in the early morning. “No… don’t want you to stop,” she mumbled against his tears stained lips, her toes curled and her back arch, pressing her body against his and her eyes shut tight as her orgasm washed over her. He groaned and rested his forehead against her, his necklace dangling above her neck, it took him two more thrust before spilling his seed into her.
A whimper escaped her mouth when she felt full of him, sweats collected on their forehead and his hair was a mess of blond curls that fell to her temple. This felt ordinary, like two people who disliked each other were supposed to be in this mess. Tangled in motel sheets, covered in sweat and breathless. It was complete silence at first, they were kissing each other as though it was their last. It might be their last. That's what she thought.
He didn't leave. He spent the night listening to her god awful snoring, he wished to silence them but at the same time he basked in them for he didn't know how long he has before she puts up that frustrating wall again. Where she hides behind a façade. He sees her now, and she's got a face that was rare to see. Peaceful, pretty and terrifying. Terrified because of how it made him feel deep down. She was like the beach back in California, warm, bright, and ataractic. Surprisingly, she smelt like the ocean. Salty, soft and a tinge of sweetness, but that was from her hair. The more he admired her, the more he knew he should leave. Go back to Neil, and leave her be.
He didn't listen to his head. He had always been a stubborn fella after all. So he pulled her closer, legs tangled, and slumber took over him, unbeknownst to him that she was woken up the moment his cold hand pulled her waist. Her breath shuddered, but she didn't retaliate against him this time. She let it be. Perhaps, things would be different.

i'm in love with you , ross macdonald
note, this is my first ever thing for ross or ever even broaching this fandom, so please be nice! i'm nice i promise! pair, ross macdonald x reader summary, y/n y/l/n and ross macdonald being in love for 10 minutes straight, or some cute moments in y/n and ross' relationship. warnings, mentions of quarantine, getting a tattoo (nothing graphic) (lmk if i missed anything) word count, 3289 words
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
If people knew Ross MacDonald, they knew you too. You and Ross had been together since the beginning of time, or at least long before the first album came out.
You and Ross were complete opposites which was what made you both so perfect together. Where he was quiet and a little more introverted, you were much more outgoing and extroverted. You were the golden retriever and he was the black cat.
Fans noticed the sweet moment between you, so edits were made, and of course video compilations.
Ross MacDonald and Y/N Y/L/N being in love for 10-minutes straight
The first clip was one fans knew very well. It was originally posted on Matty's Instagram and then later reposted on every 1975 fan account known to man.
You usually went to the first couple of shows with them, but due to scheduling conflicts, you couldn't make it to the first couple of shows like you normally would for the "At Their Very Best" tour.
Unbeknownst to Ross s, your schedule cleared up so you worked with the band to surprise him.
The video started and the first shot was of Ross' back as he and Matty walked down the hotel hallway toward Ross' room. The camera flipped quickly back to Matty who gave the camera an exasperated face as Ross continued to drone on about something.
"Ross, just open the door," Matty begged.
Ross raised a brow but opened the door and was greeted to balloons all over the ground before you popped up from behind the bed, "Surprise!" You shouted.
Ross stared at you trying to decipher if you were real and if you were actually there. "What?" Was all Ross said before he dropped his stuff on the ground and tackled you onto the bed and hugged you.
The short video ended right as you pulled away from the hug to cup his face and pull him in for a kiss.
The next clip was taken by a fan. It was a little grainy and the fan's hands were shaking but Ross was clearly in the shot and he could be seen looking up to the higher level of the theater up to someone.
The camera then panned up and when the camera focused, you were the person Ross was talking to from the stage. Matty was talking on stage and Ross was trying to be as inconspicuous as he could as to not draw attention up to you but it wasn't working.
You waved and he waved back discreetly. You drew a heart and blew him a kiss, laughing when he looked away, seemingly embarrassed.
"Y/N!" Matty shouted into the mic, making the crowd go wild when they realized you were there, "Stop distracting Ross!" He looked up at you on the balcony as everyone laughed.
"Sorry!" You shouted back with a laugh, waving to the crowd and blowing them a big kiss.
Something the band did before they went on stage showed what they were doing behind the scenes, leading up to them walking on stage.
So, fans went wild when everyone first showed up on the big screen, all in the green room, getting ready to head on stage. The camera panned around the room and you could feel the walls vibrate when the camera panned over to Matty.
You were listening to whatever Matty was talking about while also tying Ross' tie. You took a step back and looked at him, "Good?"
"Good." You gave him two thumbs up. You were both unaware of the camera filming you, both too stuck in your own little world. You reached up and wrapped your arms around his neck and smiled, leaning into his neck.
He hummed, wrapping his arms around your waist, "I'll see you out there." He pulled away, a smile on his face.
"Yeah, and if you don't, it's cause I'm getting funnel cake." You joked and he laughed, "I saw a funnel cake stand when we were walking around."
"You gonna save me some?" You nodded, "All right, I'll see you after."
"See you after." You both met halfway and kissed, "Be awesome rockstar." You pulled away and cupped his face.
No one could tell what either of you was saying, but they could tell that it was filled with love and that you both were in love. You pressed a kiss to his lips quickly before stepping away and waving.
The clip then switched over to a picture of you and Ross that you had posted. It wasn't anything special, just a sweet photo of you and Ross after an award show, looking nice and dressed up. Your arm was looped through his as you both smiled sweetly for the camera.
The photo was just something to look at while audio from a podcast you had done played in the background.
"I'm curious, and I know a lot of other people are curious too, what is it like dating a musician who is as high profile as Ross?" The host, Katya, asked.
You nodded, "It's a question I get asked often." You smiled, "But I never mind answering it and I'll answer it as honestly as I can. I don't know anything else."
"Really?" The other host, Lily asked.
"Yeah, he's my first serious boyfriend, and we've been together since, like, 2011, like a year before their first album went public. I had like middle school and high school boyfriends, but it was never as serious as it is with Ross."
"That's crazy," Lily commented.
"I know, it is. But, it really is the only thing I know. The long breaks, the tours, the getting recognized every so often." You shrugged, "But the one thing that I never take for granted is because we do long distance for such a long period of time, it just makes us cherish the time we do get to spend together."
"That's so sweet." You blushed as they both cooed.
"So, having been there since the beginning of the release process, what was that like?"
"Crazy, after Sex came out, everything went so quickly and I barely had time to comprehend. Then their first album came out and I felt like a chicken without a head for a good year after." They both laughed.
"So, they really went from being not famous and working normal jobs to almost the entire country knowing their names and their songs."
"Yeah, and it was a little scary at first, not gonna lie." You all shared a laugh, "But seeing how far they've all come, I'm proud, really. I feel like a proud mom."
"So, do you have a favorite song?" They both laughed when you gasped.
"You're trying to get me in trouble." You shook your head, "Um, not really I love them all equally."
"But off the record?"
"Off the record..." You blew out a breath, "Chocolate."
"Chocolate." You nodded.
"Good choice." Katya reached across the table and gave you a high five.
The next clip was a series of photos taken by the paparazzi. You didn't get paps taking pictures of you often, but when you did, it was usually you two together, and it was something sweet.
The first photo is of one of you two caught at dinner, sitting together. It's a real cliche. You were sitting across from each other with a candle in front of you, holdings hands from across the table and looking at each other like the other hung the moon.
The next was one that floated around Twitter for a while. It was a photo taken outside of a bar where the band was throwing an after-party after one of their shows, and you were in the middle of hopping bars when the photo was taken.
You were all waiting for Matty as you stood outside. You were wearing a tank top and had left your jacket in the car and it was cold, so Ross, being the good boyfriend, stood close to you and wrapped his jacket around you and managed to keep you warm.
The last in the dump was one even you posted. It was you and Ross at the airport. George was seen in the back, but the main focus was you and Ross.
You were walking beside him, on the opposite side of where all the cameras were. You both had sunglasses on to cover the bags from jet lag. You were carrying a small bag while Ross carried a backpack and dragged along two suitcases and if fans looked close enough, they would be able to read the luggage tags with your name on them.
The next clip was taken by a fan, again. The fan was waiting in line at a meet and greet the band was doing. The group in front of her moved and the fan who was filming walked up, handing her phone to the other person she was with.
The first person at the table was Matty. She got her CD and vinyl signed before making it to the end where Ross was, "Hi." She smiled nervously.
"Hello." He smiled, grabbing the sharpie and signing her items. As he signed her items, she pulled out a bracelet from her bag. It was a little bracelet she had made for you with your initials and a heart with cute colored beads.
He looked up from the signing when he was done, "What's that?" He asked, a smile on his face.
"I made a bracelet for Y/N." The girl answered, a smile on her face when Ross laughed.
"Did you? Oh, my." He gasped when she handed it to him, "Oh, she's gonna love it. She loves little bracelets, especially when it's homemade."
"That makes me happy." She beamed.
"Would you like a picture?"
The next photo that flashed on the screen was from your story and it was a photo of you smiling while wearing the little bracelet the fan had made you.
The caption read 'Thank you to the fan who made this for me! I love it so much and love you all!'
The photo then transitioned into a video taken by one of the cameramen who works at the concerts. it was a clip that went viral in the world of The 1975.
About You was a popular song on the album and it had gone viral so most fans knew it. Most of the time, on tour, Polly sang it, Carly sang it, and while you weren't a member of the band, you could sing.
Occasionally Ross would come home and tell you about a song they were working on and you would give your input and he would take it back to the band, so you were an unofficial member of the band.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome a very special friend to us all, in her first live performance ever, Mrs. Ross Macdonald herself," At that, the crowd went wild, "Miss Y/N Y/L/N!" You walked out onto the stage, waving to the crowd before hugging Matty and Adam.
You waved to the band, blew Polly a kiss, then met Ross halfway across the stage. You hugged and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before waving to the crowd again.
"You ready, Y/N?"
"So ready." You nodded, giving him a thumbs up. The music started. and you felt every nerve in your body go off. Ross kept glancing back at you, and when he finally caught your eye, he smiled.
You smiled back and took a deep breath. You closed your eyes as you sang the bridge, almost in your own world, "And there's something about you..."
Another video from a fan from a different angle was added. It was first on you, then moved across the stage over to Ross who was watching you, a smile on his face and what could only be described as the look of love on his face.
"...I never know what to think about." You opened your eyes and everyone went insane. You then became aware of just how many phones and cameras were pointed at you and smiled shyly.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Y/N Y/L/N!" Matty shouted into the microphone, making the crowd again go wild. You waved before blowing air kisses to the crowd and hugging Ross again.
"How was that?" You asked nervously.
"So good." He kissed your forehead briefly before pulling away and hugging Matty and Adam. Before leaving the stage, you blew more air kisses to George, Polly, and the band on the set's second floor.
"She's so great, isn't she?" Matty spoke into the microphone once you were off stage, and you could hear the crowd from backstage in response to his question.
The next clip was a photo and video you had posted on your Instagram. It was no secret that Ross was covered in tattoos, so after you and Ross were sure and discussed it, you decided to get matching tattoos.
It wasn't anything drastic or anything too flashy, but it was something simple you had decided on. It was just each of your initials and they were in each of your handwriting, so you wrote the first letter of his name and vice versa.
The photo was you standing side by side, your hands in the frame so it showed the initials tattooed on your hands. It was small and not really noticeable unless you really looked for it.
The photo then transitioned into a video of you and Ross getting your tattoos. You were sitting in chairs next to each other. His hand was in your lap and it was clear with the way you weren't talking and the look, you were nervous. Ross knew this, so he did his best to comfort you from the chair next to you.
"Did you know flamingos sleep standing up?" Ross asked, trying anything to keep you calm.
"Yeah." You nodded.
"Did you know that giraffe's tongues are pink?"
"Ross Macdonald, I love you, but you are stressing me out." You glared at him.
"All right, I tried." He raised his hands in surrender, "You still doing good though?" He asked.
"I'm good." You reassured, "Can we turn on some music or something?"
The comments were crazy after you posted it. They all found it cute that Ross was trying to comfort you with random animal facts and found it cute that you were getting matching tattoos of your initials.
The next was a series of videos taken by fans from the same show. You were outside in the front of the building they were performing, a big bouquet of flowers in your hands.
You were smiling and waving to fans, "Hi, oh, my goodness." You gasped, “It’s so nice to see all of you.” You stopped by the barricade of the fans and took some pictures.
A fan handed you a sharpie and you started signing things that they held out. It wasn’t anything you were used to, so it was cool.
“Wow, this is new.” You laughed, “I’ve never had people ask for my autograph.” The group of fans whose items you were signing laughed.
"Are those for Ross?" The girl next to the fan who was filming asked.
"Yeah." You admitted, and they all gasped then all cooed about how cute it was, "Most of the time, the flowers in our home are for him, not that he never gets me them, but I like getting them for him whenever I can. It's a nice surprise." You shrugged, signing your name on someone's CD cover.
"Do you listen to The 1975?" Someone shouted as security led you inside the theater.
"Of course! They're my top artist every year on Spotify!" You laughed.
During quarantine, you were locked in your house obviously, so, while locked in your home, a cat had found its way into your backyard and had taken habitat in your flower patch in the sun.
You documented the whole process of you finding it, watching it from your kitchen window, then finally taking it in.
The first photo you posted on your story was a picture you had taken from your kitchen window of the cat, who at that point was nameless. The cat was laying in your flower patch in the sun.
The caption you had put on the photo was, "My flowers may be destroyed, but we have a new friend!"
The next video from your Instagram cat story was a video of Ross walking out into your garden, in his pajamas. You both approached the cat who was now standing by a tree in your backyard.
"Here, kitty." Ross cooed softly as he approached the cat with treats in hand. You stood back a distance, filming him as the cat hissed at him, "Geez!" Ross quickly retracted his hat as the cat practically pounced toward him.
"Be careful." You called out.
"Gee, thanks." He rolled his eyes. He held his hand out carefully with the food in it. The cat looked at it before approaching him and sniffing the food.
The cat then started eating the food out of his hand and once it was all gone, looked at Ross expediently, "Well, I guess that's a good sign." Ross turned around and headed towards the house.
The cat hopped off the ledge and followed him, "Ross..." You called out in awe that the cat was following him. He turned around and saw the cat trotting along behind him.
"I guess this is a very good sign." He shrugged, opening the door to your home and letting the cat enter before he followed.
The next photo was a photo of the cat snugging in Ross' arms with the caption, "Meet Biscuit!"
The last photo of your saga was a photo of Biscuit asleep on Ross' chest, who was also asleep, on the couch with the caption "Just a boy and his father".
A fan account had posted the photos you had posted of Ross and Biscuit and photos Ross had posted of you and Biscuit with the caption, "mom and dad are officially a mom and dad".
The last video you and Ross had posted together on your Instagrams. It was only a matter of time before you got married, and when you posted your engagement photos, the fans went wild.
It was a professional-looking wedding video. It started out with you and Ross standing in your hotel rooms, getting ready. The wedding, from what fans, could tell, was small with only your close friends and family.
A soft instrumental version of Robbers played in the background as you and Ross got ready. Your dress was zipped up while he straightened out his tie.
Then you were seen walking down towards a garden towards Ross, who was standing with his back to you, and it was clear at that moment, it was a video of your first look.
You smoothed out the front of your dress before taking a breath and reaching up to tap on his shoulder. He turned around and gasped, covering his mouth in shock.
After he got over the initial shock, he immediately wrapped you in a hug as he tried to sort out his thoughts. Nothing you were saying could be heard, but 'You look fucking amazing.' could be read falling from his lips.
The rest of the video was shots of you and Ross looking more in love than anyone could've thought, but the last shot of the video was a pan out from your seats at the reception.
You were sitting side by side, watching your guests on the dance floor with your head on his shoulder and his suit jacket around your shoulders.

"hey babe! i have a surprise for you," you called happily while approaching him with a small box.
"oh? is that my late birthday gift?" he asked playfully.
you rolled your eyes. "babe, you know i didn't forget your birthday. indeed, i was the first one to celebrate you."
"yeah, because we live in the same house." he got more playful.
"ugh... i just wanted to connect your birthday with today. i'm not that rich, you know. so i bought only one thing for these two days."
"hey..." he said while taking the small box away from you and putting it on the coffee table. "i'm just messing with you. you don't know how much i appreciate all the things you do for me. i love you and you only. i'm so lucky to have you." he now trapped you between his arms. he was smelling mix of cigarettes and your favorite cologne of his.
"i love you too cliffy. so, so much. and i think we are both lucky to have each other." you looked up to him and met with his sweet smile. he kissed your forehead and then gently pulled you away.
"i have a surprise for you too. wait here." while leaving the living room. making you feel excited.
after a couple of minutes, he returned with a brown paper bag. he then sat next to you.
"first, open yours." you said while grinning. he nodded and took the box from the table and started to open it.
"it's kinda heavy. babe..?" he looked at the thing inside the box. it was a bass pedal he had been looking for a while.
"babe!" he put away it and then hugged you tightly. "you don't know how much i needed this, thank you so much!" he said while hugging you tighter.
you were working hard on your job to buy this. you didn't tell him, but he already knew that. it was the best gift for both his birthday and for valentine's day.
"cliff, babe, i can't breathe-" he finally let you go but the grin on his face didn't.
"now open yours."
you took the paper bag to your lap and took out what was inside of it.
holy shit...
it was pink floyd's wish you were here vinyl.
and it was from the 1975 edition. even so, the cover of it was looking new.
you couldn't help but gasp loudly. he knew this was your favourite album of them. whenever y'all go to vinyl shops you would look for this.
"cliff, babe-"
"shh," he said while taking the vinyl from you and opening the cover of the record player. he then carefully placed the vinyl on it and placed the needle. seconds later, you heard the intro of shine on you crazy diamond. the vinyl sounded so clearly. he really did find the best for you.
you then snuggled each other. him resting his head on your head while you rest yours on his chest.
"you know, this is not the best album to listen to on valentine's day."
"then why did you place it there?"
"just wanted to make you happy."
"well then, let's just relax a little. then i promise to listen with you to motorhead, sabbath, misfits, or whatever you want."
"i'd like that." he said happily before dozing off on you. you joined him minutes later.
you both woke up at the beginning of wish you were here. looking at each other sweetly. he then suddenly got up and reached out to you. you gave him your hand not knowing what's he planning.
he dragged you a few steps from the couch. placing his arm to your waist and other is pulling your arm up. you smiled at him while placing your free hand behind his neck. burying your face in his chest.
so, so you think you can tell
heaven from hell?
blue skies from pain?
can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rain?
a smile from a veil?
do you think you can tell?
"clearly this is also not the best song to listen to on valentines day." you said breathing in his presence. your voice sounded sad. knowing the story behind this song.
"yeah... hey, what's wrong?" he asked and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
"i don't know about the other songs but, this song and shine on you crazy diamond were written to group's old band made, to the soul of the group, syd. listening to it now reminds me of him." you paused. "oh, sorry... today is supposed to be our day."
"well, i'm sorry for him, for them. i know this is not going to help but, if you don't pay attention to the lyrics, it sounds like a song to slow dancing with your partner."
you smiled. "you're right though." buried your face further on him.
how i wish, how i wish you were here
we're just two lost souls
swimming in a fishbowl
year after year
"you can't even imagine how much i love you cliff. i always gonna love you, i always gonna support you. as long as you let me, i always gonna be by your side. even if we break up in the future, i'll always wish you and to band the best."
"bold of you to assume that we're going to break up in the future." now both of his hands were on your waist. leaning his head on yours. "i swear to you, i'll never leave you and let you leave from my life. you're all i want, all i need. i love you, more than you'll ever know."
tears were continuously falling from your eyes. he gently pressed his hands on your cheeks and wiped them away with his thumbs.
"hey now, i didn't say all of this just to make you cry." he smiled at you and gently pressed his lips against yours. it was a sensual kiss. after a couple of minutes, you pulled away slowly, smiling at him.
when the last song ended he took out the vinyl carefully and placed it back to its cover.
"don't forget, only death can separate us. i promise." he said and grinned before he went to place the new vinyl on the shelf and pick the vinyl he wanted.
— october, 1986
he really kept his promise.
you didn't know when you finally accepted this to yourself.
you didn't even know if you could visit him, did you really have that strength? could your heart endure?
endless telephone calls, visits from your beloved ones, the newspapers... all of these made you weaker and weaker.
but you had to. you had to fly there and tell things you wanted to say. you had to be strong for his family, you had to be by their side. you had to support the band emotionally like they've supported you.
you finally got up from your couch, went to the bathroom to wash your messy face. after taking a deep breath you started to look for plane tickets to sweden.
running over the same old ground
what have we found?
the same old fears
wish you were here

Be my mistake
Bradley knows he loves you, so why does he keep messing things up?
Bradley Bradshaw x GN!reader
Word Count: 1.5k
Warnings: Cheating, swearing, mentions of smut, alcohol mention, angst like so much angst. No real happy ending.
A/n: This is my first time writing on here! I’ve been so nervous to post but I love to write so I just said fuck it. I hope you enjoy! Also this inspired by “Be my mistake” by The 1975 so I reccomend listening to that as you read.
Tumblr media
No one could hate Bradley more than he hated himself, he was a master at fucking good things up for himself. He knew he had a good life, with a beautiful fiance, a house, a dog, and a really good job. He had to make for himself but he couldn’t just stop there, he had to have more.
It was mostly an accident, he had seen the cute blonde from across the bar and when they locked eyes he knew he was a dead man. He fell straight into her bleach blonde, big titted trap. She laughed too hard at his jokes and she drank cocktails that tasted like straight sugar but Bradley didn’t care, she was into him and that’s all it took.
They chatted for a while, Bradley knew that his bride-to-be was mingling somewhere, but was most likely too busy with Phoenix and Bob to notice his wandering hands and lust filled eyes. He felt the faint burn of guilt in his chest as he talked to this girl, Lily was her name.
If you asked him why he did what he did, it was because he was mad. You got in a nasty fight over something stupid and had kicked him out of the house. Telling him to come back when he actually cared. He was mad that he fucked up something good. He hated himself for it and he wished he could fix it, but he was a simple man. He saw this sweet young thing, who made him feel desirable again and he snatched it up.
He hated how you looked at him, even when you were mad at him you held his eyes with such a gentle gaze. He felt like he was on probation, you didn’t break up, you were simply in a fight. He caught your eye once more and that softened gaze almost made him stay, almost.
But when he saw that cute girl standing by the door, biting her soft lip, he caved and said goodbye quickly. He didn’t even look back as he followed this girl he barely knew out of the bar. He got in his Bronco and drove her to the beach, watching the sunset as he betrayed your trust the first time.
It was supposed to have been one and done. But when the blonde had her hand wrapped around his cock asking for his number he couldn't do anything but wordlessly give her his phone. That was the beginning of his fall from grace. He met her at least 3 times a week from then on. He liked this girl, but that was it. She wasn’t like you, she didn’t mean as much as you did. She was a means to an end, while you were his future. But even though you had made up Bradley couldn’t stop from fucking up. He still found a way to damn himself.
Like now, it had been over a month since he started seeing Lily, they always met in a hotel room, somewhere far enough away to not cause suspicion. She would come in and smile, that cute little smile that made him take the bait in the first place and suddenly he didn’t feel so guilty anymore. Her supple skin and soft kisses made him lose that battle every time. He never thought of you until everything was quiet and he couldn’t escape it.
He looked at the sleeping girl next to him and sighed, she was cute, that was for sure. But she wasn’t you. She didn’t have the birthmark on her back that looked like a constellation, or the same sweet scented body wash that you used everyday after he told you it drove him crazy. She just wasn’t you, and everything she did reminded him of that. After the first time they hooked up, he asked her to turn the light off, because as long as he couldn’t see her face then maybe he could pretend it was you.
But then she’d say something cute like “I love those jeans on you, they make you look so sexy.” and he would just kiss her harshly before he accidentally told her that you had bought him those jeans, not for any special occasion but because you just thought of him and wanted to do something nice. Because that’s what you were, you were the nicest person Bradley had ever met. So why was he so stupid.
He tried to think of anything else than your sweet smile and the way you laughed. He moved closer to Lily and put his face in her hair, it was something he did to calm himself but when he breathed in he didn’t get the satisfaction that he so desperately wanted. All he could smell in her hair was the lotion that you used on your feet.
It was a silly thing, you were self conscious about your feet. Always telling Bradley that you didn’t want to rub cracked feet on him in the middle of the night. He usually would just laugh and kiss you, telling you that he loved you and your cracked feet anyway.
He smiled sadly at the thought, and he turned away from the girl in front of him. He was starting to feel sick, he couldn’t get the picture of you out of his head. He tossed and turned all night, waiting till he fell asleep from exhaustion.
Even though Bradley started all this he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by this new girl. She would come to his hotel room unannounced, She’d make herself at home while drinking his alcohol and eating his food. He wished that she would just wait till he called her up. He didn’t need a new partner, he just needed a release. Something to cure that burning pit of loneliness that buried itself within his chest.
He hated how she would come in, acting like she was important. Making jokes about his infidelity like it wasn’t something that could ruin his life.  She be riding him, letting out those obnoxious whiny moans while saying, “I bet your old bitch couldn’t fuck you half as well as me.”
Which was a lie, sure she was tighter than all hell and had great tits to look at. But she didn’t have the same way that you did. She was bland and frankly annoying, so much so that he always took to fucking her so hard she couldn’t speak. He didn’t want to hear anything about you coming out of her mouth, you were his. You didn’t exist in this world, you were above it. You were better.
In the next week he had gotten back on good terms with you, he had come home and apologized. He made sure to make it up to you. And with you being the person that you are, you had forgiven him. He felt guilty when he kissed you, knowing that the night before his lips had been on someone else's. But for now he was just happy to have you back in his arms
He knew that he really should’ve broken it off with Lily, he wasn’t in the doghouse anymore. He had no reason to see her, but yet he still called her. He didn’t know what kind of sadist he had to be to do this to himself but he couldn’t stop. He liked her, he liked how he felt when he was with her. Because unlike you she only cared about making him feel good. He felt above everyone when she praised him. It was sick, because he needed that praise. He needed to feel that but in the end she just couldn’t compare. He had struck gold with you, you made him a good person.
Of course he liked sleeping with this girl, he wouldn’t have kept in contact had he not but she didn’t bring him to his knees like you did. You made him crumble with one grin, one simple touch and he was putty in your hands. You made him weak. He was allowed to be vulnerable with you, he trusted you. He would give his life for you and yet he couldn’t help but find every way to ruin what he built.
He needed you, he couldn’t live without you and yet somewhere deep down that was a sick lie. If he really needed you then he wouldn’t be betraying you like this. He wouldn’t be killing what once was so lively. He’d be fully committed to you and not making this mistake. Not choosing to lie to you when all you’ve done is look out for him, but Bradley knew this would never last, he always found a way to ruin his life with his Bradshaw charm.
He always knew that you were too good, just like he always knew that she would be his mistake.

Nine people I’d like to get to know better/ Get to know you tag
I'm combining 3 different versions of this tag from @writeouswriter @nostalgicyorkshiregirl & @thewritinggrindstone
Bouncing this back to @nostalgicyorkshiregirl and also tagging @babyblueetbaemonster, @housemarcellus, @choccy-zefirka & @downontheupside cuz I feel like I haven't caught up with you guys for a while. And as usual, leaving it open to anyone else who wants to play.
Currently reading: - Fanfic: Although He Smiles by HonestlyHelen. A Star Wars: Clone Wars AU in which Ahsoka is send back in time after leaving the Jedi order. - Published: I'm in the middle of the Rogue Sorcerer series by KE Mills, but I need to order book 3 as I somehow own 4 but not 3???
🎶 Last song I listened to: Skyrim Atmospheres by Jeremy Soule. I was doing some writing and needed a neutral track, but also it's 45mins which is a good time limit for a session.
📺 Currently watching: Starsky and Hutch (1975). It's research, okay? (I am actually enjoying it immensely)
Last series: The Orville. Only got a few eps in and stopped because Starsky and Hutch became available
Last movie: Twisters (2024). I saw the original in the cinema (I think for my b/day) and loved it. So I was a bit cautious about the new one, but if anything it's even better. Highly recommended for a stormy evening ;)
🌶️ Sweet/Savoury/Spicy?: Today I'm feeling savoury, because I'm having anchovies and cheese & tomatoes on corncakes.
❤️ Relationship status: Happy with my odd set-up, but a bit sad that my step-ish son was so upset when I left last time that he couldn't get to school.
Favorite color: Today I'm clinging what green is left before the trees start to change into their autumn colours. Having said that, I'm also into bright oranges - I changed the LEGO flowers over to be more autumnal from the summer colours we did have.
🤩 Current obsession: Writing Her Countenance was Light. I'm so close to the end, I'm sure I'll finish it by the end of the year. I've just hit a few snags with a new plot hole, though, and need find the literary gravel...
Tea or Coffee: The tea du jour is Blackberry, Apple, Ginger and Beetroot from Sainsbury's 'Taste the Difference' range. Nice and warming from the nip that's already in the air.
Last Thing I Googled: 'checkatrade', to get the website for user-approved tradies. I need my boiler fixed/ replaced...

Black Soul in Japan
In 1973, a trio called The Three Degrees, surprisingly had their fame skyrocket in Japan with the song "Dirty Ol' Man". Their presence reached Japan, before they made it to the domestic US charts.
Tumblr media
During this time, the lineup consisted of Fayette, Sheila, and Valerie.
youtube
In 1974. during their prime in Japan, they also made a Japanese version of their megahit 'When Will I See You Again.' It also surprised me because they were extremely dedicated to their audience demographic and the cross-cultural appeal they had.
This actually the first song I've heard of theirs, and I was instantly drawn in by their sweet vocals. Especially of member Sheila...just blown away! They are so beautiful too.
youtube
The Japanese version of this was stellar too. As a fan of classic music from Japan, (more of in the 80s..) I really enjoyed listening to this. It was the first time I've heard of Black singers recording a song of theirs in an entirely different language in the past. They also released a Japanese exclusive single called にがい涙 (Nigai Namida, 'bitter tears')
Tumblr media
youtube
And to my surprise, they sung so sweetly and confidently in Japanese, live! I could tell that they took their job seriously and worked hard. (couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful they were either....) Continuing their time in Japan, their fame brought them on many television appearances and interviews, especially after they won at the 3rd Tokyo Music Festival. You could tell how much they were loved in Japan! (They still have a steady Japanese fanbase even today.) I'm glad they were also able to learn and experience Japanese culture firsthand. In this clip, they are dressed in Kimonos, learning classical Nihon Buyo dance. I also found it cute how they were learning so intentively, especially Valerie lol.
youtube
In 1975, their fame in overseas continued with an exclusive televison special, where they sung songs in various languages.
youtube
Their fame in Japan was definitely deserved. And they also well deserved their rising fame in the US afterwards, after hitting various charts in 1974, even in the UK. The Three Degrees is all around a very talented, elegant, and stunningly beautiful.
And yes, I know the Degrees have had a fair share of lineups, but I think this one during their Japan heyday, will always be more favorable to me.

Hi! I hope you had a really amazing birthday! Yay for your voice being back and I'm glad you're feeling better. Oh that is kinda a cool idea, to stab the cake..I've never thought of that. I guess it's almost similar to a piñata though haha. Ya I know..cuz some people have accents and stuff which is kinda weird to think about since I don't think of it that much. I think I will think of my resolutions when I get to the end of the year..at least the specifics. I never stick to them though but I really wanna change that ugh.
Yep I think you told me that before but that sucks. I think it came out how many songs were in the movie so people were trying to figure out what was cut. I don't know the songs that well to make a guess honestly but if you have any idea, you can say it here. I think they could get rid of whose house is this but a lot of the songs could possibly feel unnecessary anyway since people already know the movie. There's a few I wouldn't care about them cutting I guess..i could see Cautionary Tale, Sexy and I find more is always better pretty boring lol. I hope the movie is still good though. I know most people still don't know it was based on the musical and it's similar with The Color Purple actually and Wonka. I think Wonka got kinda good reviews but I'm not sure I will go watch it yet.
Yay! I don't like worrying about getting older either so I know exactly what you mean and I don't really enjoy my birthday anymore either but there's also nothing you can do about it so no point worrying. Omg I did think of Dancing with our hands tied too but I guess I forgot it. Also find that 1975 lyric so relatable. I'm glad you enjoyed them! What are some of your favorites so far? Oh thats nice..you can always take your friend's recommendations too since they have so many good songs.
I know! And I also enjoy Snow on the Beach quite a bit. My sister freaked out when the collab was announced haha. It was definitely one of the songs that stood out on a first listen to me and you can definitely hear Lana's influence on it. That's also similar to how Electric Touch sounds like Fall Out Boy too. It kinda sounds like a Lana song. I still prefer the original version compared to more Lana because of the dreamy outro though. Are you also a fan of Lana and do you listen to her? What are your favorite songs?
I am excited to listen to the EP. I assume your url is a lyric and I wonder if it has to do with new years kiss or day or simply just wanting the year to be over. I will listen soon and give you my thoughts..I'm sure I will love it too. That kinda music always makes me happy too. I can't believe Christmas is already this week.
Oh that's so awful! It makes sense why you would dislike it now. When did you see it on tour? Have you just been holding a grudge against CATS for years? At least it wasn't at one of your favorite musicals! Also are you a cat lover? I'm not as much as Taylor but I do like them. I think La La Land just feels like a modern version of a classic old movie musical and I like how many references there are. Also I know people said they couldn't sing, but Emma was in Cabaret on Broadway and now Ryan sang in Barbie. I liked the setup and structure of it. I like the simple story of two people reaching for their dream. It reminds me of the same concept of Dorothea or Midnight Rain too..which we have talked about. I also like comparing it to The Last Five Years and a Star is Born too which have some similarities and differences. I also loved those two films so much and they all revolve around couples who don't work out lol. But you know by now that I just like to compare things, like with books, so maybe that's why.
I actually got a few books yesterday for a quarter each. One of them was Get a Life, Chloe Brown which I have heard I think good reviews of. I wanted to know if you've read it. Another one was by the same author of The Virgin Suicides and I love that movie so much. I also got book by the same author of Big Little Lies and I have another one of her books on my shelf so I thought it might be a good pair. I haven't actually seen Big Little Lies and I'm not a mystery reader lol so I'll have to see. Another thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love sitcoms. That and teen dramas and baking shows are usually the shows I watch. so I also got Mindy Kalings book and Matthew Perry's book...RIP which I thought was a pretty good deal. Also it was announced the other day that Captain Holt from B99 passed away. :( I also have Anna Kendricks and Andrew Rannells books on my shelf too and wanted to possibly read Im Glad my mom died and I was in the middle of Crying in Hmart before too. I honestly don't know why I buy more when so many are already on my list.
Well we have a lot of the same Folklore favorites and less on Evermore I guess. I still like debut..I just never play it anymore. That doesn't mean it's bad..it's just that she's gotten better compared to debut's lyrics which are more simple. plus I don't wanna flash back to being 12 all the time lol and I didn't even play the full album until I was like 20. but my favorite songs on the album are songs I really love a lot. But I definitely have a soft spot for it cuz that's what made me love her in the first place. I would argue Fearless is one of her best albums too for bringing something new to country music. I was never a fan of country but she made me a fan of it anyway and that's important too. All of her albums mean something different to me. I put rep next cuz there isn't a song that I dislike and I connect with the meaning or feeling of the album the most. I know she said the old Taylor was dead on the album, but to me it was like she was coming back to me cuz I didn't connect to 1989. I do wonder if the vault tracks will lean into that more which will make me love it more. I almost feel disconnected to her in a similar way right now but I don't really know why and I'm hoping Rep TV helps. I hope you had the most wonderful birthday and wish many good things for you for the next year! I think you're such a kind person and enjoy talking to you! 🩷
hello, friend!! it was really, really fun! a fun fact about me is that i used to have a blend of a british-australian-irish accent (a product of going to international school and having british, australian and irish teachers) but then i very quickly dropped it after i moved here! i actually sent a childhood friend a voice memo the other day — which was the first time he's heard my voice in like, fifteen years — and he was shocked at how "american" i sound. i am terrible at doing accents just for fun though!
i'm also trying to figure out what will be cut and what will stay — i'm thinking world burn, i see stars, revenge party, apex predator, sexy, someone gets hurt, it roars, fearless and i'd rather be me will be in it? i'm not sure what else — maybe whose house is this, where do we belong/meet the plastics (like a mashup like they did on the tonys)? i don't know if they'll keep stupid with love or more is better, just because i don't think the guy playing aaron can sing? what do you think? i also don't think i'll be going to see wonka (but that's not a surprise, given how terrible i am at watching movies haha)!
i don't listen to lana much! i like a few songs — the ones that most people like, but i have a family friend's daughter who lovesssss lana (she's fifteen) so i do want to give lana another try just so i can ~ seem cool ~ and ~ have something to talk to ~ with the fifteen year old haha. what about you? do you listen to lana? what are your favorites?
my url IS a lyric! it's from the song "is it new year's yet" and it is also just kind of how i feel! i feel like the last like ~ two weeks of the year is kind of a waiting game, so i'm kind of just like! okay! tick tock! i do love winter/christmas music though — fruitcake ep, together this christmas by maisie peters, so much wine by phoebe bridgers, laufey's a very laufey holiday, christmas tree farm, the holiday collection... etc!
i saw it many, many years ago! i think in 2012 or 2013? and yes, i've just been holding a grudge against CATS since then 😭 i do like cats! i am very allergic but i just did a whole thing of allergy shots so hopefully that'll help! i am more of a dog person (just because i've had dogs and while i'm allergic to dogs too, my allergies aren't as bad). and i do agree — i love classic old movie musicals, and they got that vibe perfectly! it also reminds me of once — not as classic old movie musical, but just in the way things end! have you seen once (movie or musical)? i love it; maybe i'll spin the vinyl today while i work!
oh that's such a good deal! i did like the brown sisters series; the second one (dani brown) is my favorite! i hope you enjoy it; you'll have to let me know! i haven't read most of the other ones you mentioned, but i did read crying in h mart (and loved it; have read it two or three times now), and i am also guilty of buying books when i have a huge physical tbr stack! it's one of my 2024 goals actually — just to read the books i already own (and unhaul).
i also have been feeling very disconnected to her — and especially with the swiftie fandom for a while now. which just ... really sucks! because i love her music! i haven't really listened to her much this year, actually (this was the first year in a very long time where she was not my most listened to artist; still in my top five, just not number one). just kind of a :/ feeling! i still haven't watched the movie at home either, but i will eventually!
thank you so much for your well wishes! you are so so sweet and i always love chatting with you 🤍 thank you for being my friend and chatting with me! hope you're having a good wednesday!

head canons on music artists that alhaitham probably likes to listen to
okay, so alhaitham always has his headphones on and has a music player, right? so here are some of the artists that he most likely listens to. modern time setting ofc lol.
i compiled the songs here in this playlist (will probably add more songs from time to time): what is he listening to?
general head canons:
- he definitely has spotify premium. doesn't tell kaveh about it because it will lead to bickering on why he just didn't get a family plan😞
- he's the type as well to past his time by looking at vinyls and see if there is anything he likes.
- he'll appreciate it if you give him a mixtape or a playlist, because then he can base from the songs that you pick on what you think of him xD
- alhaitham does listen to classical music (as what most people expect him to listen to) but he indulges himself in other genres.
- listens to podcasts as well especially on philosophical topics xD
• taylor swift.
yes, he enjoys listening to the queen herself and especially songs from folklore and evermore. he appreciates the lyricism taylor puts into her songs and it's the language nerd in him that gets fueled whenever he listens to her songs. his top songs are probably the last great american dynasty, august (pls he appreciates the story in the song), illicit affairs (because it connects to august wahaha), willow, champagne problems, ivy (hah dendro things), and evermore. he's not much of a lover album enthusiast but he likes death by a thousand cuts. he's bit of an midnights stan but won't openly admit it or in general, he won't open up about being a nerd for taylor (resisted geeking out about midnights when it came out).
songs from taylor's other albums that he likes:
- fearless (he enjoys the vibes of this song)
- untouchable
- sparks fly
- all too well (10 min vers because hell yeah)
- state of grace (YOU'RE MY ACHILLES HEEEEELLL)
- clean
- new year's day
- my tears ricochet
- marjorie (esp with the background of the song, this song has a place in alhaitham's heart)
- lavender haze (the acoustic version esp)
- maroon
- mastermind
- would've, could've, should've
• the 1975
he likes how they convey emotions in their songs in not a sappy way but more raw and mature. songs like sincerity is scary, mine, and i couldn't be more in love is definitely somewhere his top listens.
other songs by the 1975:
- human too
- chocolate
- she's american
• arctic monkeys
not so surprised but he likes the mood of what arctic monkeys gives. mardy bum, science fiction, black treacle is his go to pick. but he does enjoy listening to each of their albums, especially when he's just doing paperwork.
other songs he likes:
- knee socks
- there'd better be a mirrorball
- 505
• red velvet
yes, boi enjoys a bit of kpop probs because of kaveh blasting it almost on a daily basis. songs from the album 'the perfect red velvet' that has bad boy in it and some of 'the reve festival' finale that has psycho in it. he enjoys the vocals very much in their songs (most defo a wendy stan). likes most of the songs if it is the velvet concepts of the band (meaning they're more on darker themes). also another artist he wouldn't be open telling others that he likes xD
kaveh doesn't know he likes red velvet so he just keeps quiet about it.
songs from red velvet he likes as well:
- la rouge
- eyes locked, hands locked
- hello, sunset (guilty pleasure song for him)
- bye bye (because he's a wendy stan, that one part of wendy in this song blesses his ears)
- one of these nights (probs when he wants to feel something)
- feel my rhythm (yes, he enjoys the mix of classical music with kpop)
- good, bad, ugly (from the same album as feel my rhythm)
wild card songs he likes (basically songs you wouldn't expect he would like but he does):
- out of time by the weeknd
- west coast by lana del rey (another one of kaveh's artists that he got affected by. he can't deny that lana has amazing vocals and is reconsidering if he should try listening to more lana del rey)
- alcohol-free by TWICE (another guilty pleasure kpop song)
- solar power by lorde
- sometimes by ariana grande
- snooze by sza
- boogieman by childish gambino
he certainly spends a lot of time in spotify, that's all i can say. get him to listen to something his taste and he'll try giving it a listen.

random question but erwin gives Lana stan vibes and same lolz but then i wondered what music your characters from strangerville story all listen to?
First off I am so happy to answer this question for you!! Thank you for asking! I love love love music and love this question!
Tumblr media
That being said, before I begin I want you to know that I'm so sorry to burst a personal headcanon you've made about my version of Erwin Pries...but he has probably never heard a Lana Del Rey song in his entire life lmfao (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about). But Erwin is an EA premade, so if your Erwin is a Lana Del Rey stan I love that for you and that's valid!!! My Erwin just isn't haha (but his sister Maggie would like her music!) Anyway!!!
Very long response below the cut! ↓
Erwin mostly listens to older music: he loves music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and listens to everything on vinyl or cassette (he is very passionate about the preservation of physical media, he is the Paranoid ass king after all). His favorites are Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, David Bowie, Abba, Neil Diamond, Jim Croce, Billy Joel, John Denver, James Taylor, Elton John, The Mamas and Papas, Johnny Cash, and so on. He also has a not-so-secret love for musicals and claims that the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack is one of the best pieces of composition to ever exist (he also likes Godspell, Rent, Xanadu, and many more) Get him drunk enough and he will talk about how Mamma Mia is "Literally a transcendent work of art with whimsy and heartbreak and joy and a tender ass storyline at the heart that quite literally fucks so hard. Fucking Meryl Streep. Fuck!" Direct quote. That man hardly listens to anything post-1990, with the exception of "Queen Florence Welch" (Florence and the Machine).
Zoe appreciates all kinds of music, but has a deep love for the soul music that she heard around the house growing up. She likes music with feeling and depth, and the lyrics are most important to her but if the song isn't deep, it better have a good beat that she can dance to! Her personal favorite artists include Otis Reading, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, Dionne Warwick, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Lauryn Hill, The Temptations, Roberta Flack, Janelle Monáe, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and so on!
Beckett's looks deceive him because he loves pop music. He is listening to the current hits, think Billboard 100s exclusively lol. He might have listened to a few rock or rap songs to get "pumped up" back in his football days, but for the most part he is always listening to pop - he even likes boybands, but won't willingly admit that lmao. He's a Swiftie through and through, and he will fight for her honor on any Twitter thread or in-person discussion. He also has a love for 90s and early 2000s country artists like Shania Twain, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, and The Dixie Chicks (now The Chicks) because of cleanin' and cookin' Sundays with his momma <3
Junia doesn't care about music that much! She doesn't have any favorite artists, she's never even bought a CD and probably couldn't tell you 5 bands or artists off the top of her head. She's one of those people who will listen to anything that "has a good beat" while she's working out, and it doesn't even have to have words. She's listening to music more for background noise as opposed to being passionate about it or seeking it out.
Anwar listens to alternative music mostly! Bands like the 1975, The Strokes, Paramore, The Clash, Fall Out Boy, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, The Neighborhood, and so on. He definitely went through a pop-punk, Hot Topic, combo of emo and scene phase in his teen years in the 2000s. (Iykyk, if you don't... look it up lmao. It was a time to be alive.) If they could play at Warped Tour, he listens to them lmao. But he's cool with most pop or radio music, he's not like a music snob or anything.
Tashia listens to pretty much everything, but she also loves metal music. Idk if you've seen the Pixar/Disney movie "Monster's University" but there's a scene in there where the mom of one of the main characters drops them off at Monsters Inc. and she's like "I'll just be listening to my tunes until you get back" in like the sweetest voice and then as she's rolling up the windows you can hear metal music blasting through the speakers and she's just like... calmly vibing like she's listening to elevator music or smooth jazz lmfao. It's very funny. That's how I imagine Tashia's music taste to be and it concerns everyone around her <3

2023 - semifinal 2
so i've already reviewed many of these songs for the eurosite but that was obviously preshow and i shouldn't expect the 1-2 people who read these to also watch eight youtube videos lmao
Denmark about the song: i mean it's a 1975 knockoff but that's fine i don't hate the 1975. about the staging: not bad, definitely reminiscent of rosa linn there with the big setpiece. also i liked his outfit that was cute. nice fun little pink getup. about reiley's performance: yeah i mean his vocals were bad. we knew this! his head voice or falsetto (apparently there's a difference and idk what he's using) is bad bad bad. and the rest of the package, the song and outfit and staging and his vibes, weren't good enough to balance that out.
Armenia as much as i do not actually like the song as a song, i am fucking enthralled by that set piece (tf? how did they do this? sergey lazarev moments). the staging was gorgeous (although the dance break was not good there was too much smoke i couldn't see her) and brunette sounded great. like, studio quality vocals.
Romania tvr fucked this up so bad. someone, and i don't know if it was theodor or an exec, got given waaaay too much creative control and fucked this whole thing up. the version from the national final could have done a lot better than... whatever this was. theodor sounded AWESOME and he had the stage presence to match but the transition between the acoustic and uptempto sections was messy and the stage just felt empty and his girlfriend running in from offstage just felt pointless and so did the images of her lying down covered by a guitar. just so disappointed by the whole shebang.
Estonia a nice ballad that is definitely elevated by alika's a+ vocal and performance abilities. i like the self-playing piano, i wish it was a little more out there but ultimately it was a nice touch and the staging was subtle enough to work with the ballad song and kept the focus on alika's voice.
Belgium i don't like this style of music but i can't deny that this performance was technically perfect. gustaph is an amazing singer and the vibes here were just really fun. i do... feel mildly uncomfortable at the trend of "white singer with all/mostly black backup singers/dancers" that we'll see again later with lithuania, it feels gratuitous to me or something, but they did do great in the performance. it just clicked so even though this isn't ordinarily a song i'd listen to on my own time i love it in context.
Cyprus is it generic? yes, but ultimately it is fun to watch, there is nothing objectively bad about what is happening here. the staging works and idk i like his voice even if the song has too wide a range for him.
Iceland dilja is such a strong singer! both in terms of her tone quality and more generically! it's funny, i was at this point in the contest when voting started and as this went on i was like "should i have voted for her? oh no shes safe" and then she wasn't. i guess i get why. the staging, while it worked for the song and made sense for the kind of performer that dilja is, wasn't... great, objectively? like it didn't suck but there were definitely ways it could have been improved.
Greece i think the song is pretty enough, i like his voice, the staging wasn't actually terrible. but i do have a few small complaints. firstly that outfit was stupid he looks like a boy scout. secondly he is TOO HYPE for a song about mental health. he's BOUNCING. and thirdly the words with mixed greek/latin letters was weird. 3pirit? min/\? like my dude this does not work. tbqh i don't think this was badly done i think there were just songs that did better.
Poland props to poland for putting this together so well. is it outstanding, no, but clearly it was enough to qualify. blanka looks good, she sounds passable, and the song, while... idk... kind of bland and not my fave, isn't terrible. so despite the hullabaloo around the nf i think poland did a good job here. that said: show us the costume change! stop doing costume changes where we can't see them! i want to see the dancers rip off her clothes!
Slovenia there's a good reason this has been a fave since it dropped. nice solid indie rock song. at the end of the day they are guys having fun onstage and i am having fun right there with them.
Georgia i can understand why this didn't qualify. the transitions between the parts of the song were messy and i think this relied a lot on pleasing the hardcore fans while ignoring the perspective of the casual viewer and that hurt them a lot. that said: THIS FUCKED. the song is weird but the chorus, bad english aside, is grand and dramatic. iru looked good and sounded good and the staging was perfect for this song.
San Marino oh, the piqued jacks. it wasn't terrible. good stage show. but the song and the singer are just kind of creepy/aggressive/forward? vocally and also emotionally? this is better than i would have expected from the sammarinese honestly who did their staging it was actually not at all bad.
Austria this is just so funny. i dunno. the song is really a lot of fun and teya and salena sounded incredible live and blended really well together, but this staging didn't work. the shots were all either too wide or too close and i think the screens were overused to the point that i was genuinely concerned that this would NQ. clearly it worked but somehow i don't think it's going to pan out in the final.
Albania the family that sings together stays together? the song is great it's just not for me. i don't like her voice. good stage show and all. like there's nothing bad to say, i just... and this is how i've felt since fik too. objectively i get why people like it it's just not my style.
Lithuania visually pleasing stage show, monika sounds incredible, song is enjoyable to listen to. this is genuinely a contender for my fave of the year and it has a favorable position in tomorrow's running order, so! go lithuania!
Australia i had forgotten how enjoyable this entry is. there is something so magnetic about danny estrin. i love to watch him and i love to listen to him and i'm maybe going to go through voyager's back catalogue eventually. also mad props to that guitarist for doing live backing vocals he sounded great too.
My personal qualifiers: Lithuania, Australia, Belgium, Georgia, Estonia, Slovenia, Austria, Armenia, Iceland, Cyprus
Miscellaneous thoughts that thing i said about alyosha is true about mariya yaremchuk. how do you get an iconic ukrainian entry and not have them perform their eurovision song?? also that drag act. when i tell you i cried... idk, in the current political moment in the states... i know eurovision is gay-friendly but watching it i just felt this wave of "this is safe for people like me, this supports people like me" that had me really emotional in my silly little closet-office.

Week 7 comparison: similarities and differences: "The Texas Chain Saw massacre by Tobe Hoppers 1974" and "Deep Red by Dario Argento 1975"
Short Essay #1: The Texas Chain Saw massacre by Tobe Hoppers 1974
For week 6 I decided to watch The Texas Chain Saw massacre by Tobe Hoppers 1974. I picked to watch the film because I love horror film, I have never seen it and its a classic American horror slasher all should watch.
The Texas Chain Saw massacre is a 1974 American horror film produced and directed by Tobe Hooper. One big similarities between this film and Deep red is it being a horror film, but with it is its differences is The Texas Chain Saw massacre was an American horror film with the killer using a chain saw and Deep Red being an Italian horror film with its killer using a hatchet. Both films are unique on their own kills, actors, the feelings you get from watching both films, and they both stand out in the horror gene, where I have never seen a film like them.
For The Texas Chain Saw massacre by Tobe Hoppers 1974 many critics would say that Texas Chain Saw massacre is bloody, violent and gruesome, even being banned in many states. From a review post by Roger Ebert he says “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is as violent and gruesome and blood-soaked as the title promises -- a real Grand Guignol of a movie. It’s also without any apparent purpose, unless the creation of disgust and fright is a purpose. And yet in its own way, the movie is some kind of weird, off-the-wall achievement. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to make a movie like this, and yet it’s well-made, well-acted, and all too effective." ( Roger Ebert)
Another fine difference from The Texas Chain Saw massacre and Deep Red is the box office numbers. With The Texas ChainSaw massacre by Tobe Hoppers 1974 having a budget of less than $140,000 but making $30,860,378 million with still having a growth today. With Deep Red it made ₤3,709 billion (Italy) which is $629,903 US dollar and I couldn't find its budget.
During 1974 a major historical event that happened was when US President Richard Nixon stepping down (got impeached) after the Watergate scandal. The Watergate Scandal was a 1972 break in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate apartment complex that President Nixon tried to cover up, when failed he was later impeached being the first president to happen to.
I wanted to add this clip from Texas Chain Saw because it was an unexpected first kill in the film, with Kirk not even getting a chance to run and just like in Deep Red its first kill was right at the beginning of the film, being unexpected, and both being bloody and gruesome.
Short Essay #2: Deep Red by Dario Argento 1975
For week 7 I picked again another horror film but this one being foreign and has many bloody, violent, and gruesome kills like Texas Chain Saw.
Deep Red (Profondo rosso) more known as The Hatchet Murders, is a 1975 horror film directed by Dario Argento. Deep red is about a psychic medium being murdered ( Macha Meril) with Macha dying her neighbor Marcus Daly a pianist, feels he need to solve the case, being the one to see the murder. The film is filled with strange music at weird parts of the film but is enjoyable to listen to. Unlike The Texas Chain Saw massacre with it award silence scene with little to no music.
An article named Deep Red (1975) written by JPRoscoe says "Argento is one of those directors that makes movies that you remember, and Deep Red is no different. The movie is filled with squeamish moments that sometimes look fake, but also hold a gross realism to them. Deep Red has some grueling and terrifying moments that make it a must for horror movie fanatics." ( JPRoscoe)
I would agree that both Deep Red and The Texas Chain Saw massacre had wonderful directors that could make you remember their films from their gross, gruesome, and terrifying moments.
Deep Reds movie poster really caught my eye, from the creepy doll hanging and scary body in the back compared to The Texas Chain Saw massacre, being creepy to but doesn't stand out like Deep Red does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the time the film Deep Red came out a historical event from 1975 that was happening was The Vietnam War ending on April 30th, 1975, after lasting 8 years, with many killed it finally ended.
youtube
Finally for Deep Red I wanted to include this scene that toward the end of the film. When I watched this scene from the film, it was so unexpected. It was creepy and terrifying and I hope no one in life ever has to have this happen to them.
Overall both films stood out to me with weird twists and turns, gruesome kills and scenes. I have never seen anything like them and I hope they both get more recognition. I was very impressed by both films and enjoyed watching both, I would highly recommend them to any film lovers that love horrors and twists. Both films had their differences but were same in a lot of ways. I'm excited to see what others think and I hope they enjoy it as much as I did.

Name one favorite band from each decade
ooh what a cool question !! i'm just gonna go from the 60s onwards bc i don't have a favourite band from like. the 1540s
1960s - the beatles. hate to be basic but when you have been an obsessive fan of a band since you were five years old & you were known at school as 'that kid who likes the beatles' it's kind of hard not to pick them. yes i have been cringe since i was a child
1970s - genesis. i've said it before and i'll say it again they are THE band i am married to. i probably know more about them than myself and i go crawling back to them whenever i hear afterglow. that shit makes me want to cry every time & it hits different now that i can relate to the lyrics rather than when i was 7 and had no bitches
1980s - ok so xtc are my favourite band of all time. but i wanna just take this moment to talk about r.e.m. bc i've been having an r.e.m. moment lately again and i just fucking love those 4 dudes from athens georgia. they were the first band i really, truly fell in love with and i will never stop loving them (bitch). literally my gateway into alternative rock & Jangly Guitar Music
1990s - similar to the 80s, blur are my fave 90s band & i could talk about them. you couldn't have my early teens without blur, but you also couldn't have them without lush. miki berenyi WAS the blueprint for me and she was the first woman i looked up to whose experiences resembled my own. saying i like their britpop stuff more than their shoegaze stuff will probably get me crucified but i'm sorry i just like songs abt telling men to go fuck themselves
2000s - arctic monkeys my beloved. i saw them live this month so they're on my mind a bit these days (i say having not really listened to the car LMAO) but they are definitely the band i give a shit abt the most from the 2000s considering i don't really listen to much from this decade. whatever people say is such a good debut and i fucking love that it is essentially a concept album about sheffield
2010s - glass animals. how to be a human being is one of the most albums of all time and i'm still recovering from getting barricade at their show last year. i saw a video about how they only make concept albums and i love that for them. like yes give me music with recurring themes and an overarching storyline
2020s - the 1975. ok ok hear me out. they are the current darlings of tiktok and everyone is watching matty healy like a lab specimen but they FUNDAMENTALLY altered my brain chemistry when i was 16. idrc if you hate them but i love those pretentious mfs. i basically listen to 80s music & music that sounds like it was from the 80s and i like it when you sleep (2016) is the latter. their latest album slaps and restored my faith in them after noacf. no i can't keep defending matty healy but i will do it anyway

The 1975 Still... At Their Very Best - Grand Rapids, Michigan 11/22/23
This was my second time seeing The 1975 on their Still... At Their Very Best tour.
Dora Jar was their opener and I really enjoyed her performance. She's super fun and has an amazing stage presence especially for an opener.
The set alone is absolutely beautiful. The stage is set with what looks like an apartment. There is a spiral staircase, roof, multiple levels, a street light, windows, and walls amongst various furniture and lamps and decorative pieces. They also have a different custom poster for each night of the tour, each one created by various artists in different styles. They always have the poster of the night displayed on one of the apartment walls.
The show itself starts with an introduction of everyone on stage. Sounds of foot steps and knocking on the door happen and (from what I remember) Adam opens the door and Matty walks in. Matty plays "The 1975" (BFIAFL) on the piano as the camera pans to each person on stage to introduce them. It is such a classy opening and the song itself is amazing.
They then lead into "Looking for Somebody (to Love)", "Happiness", and "Part of the Band". At the Grand Rapids show they debuted "I Couldn't Be More in Love" which was a complete crowd favorite and unexpected entirely. They then played "Oh Caroline", "I'm in Love With You", and "A Change of Heart". "A Change of Heart" is specifically beautiful because they split the stage with lighting one side a purple pink and the other a green blue. Polly sings a portion of the song.
We then hear "An Encounter" played which changes the vibe of the show and enters a section with more of their older songs. "An Encounter" always leads into "Robbers" which is insane to hear live. The stage is lit very warm an orange which I thought was an interesting choice for that song. The next song was completely unexpected. Matty typically does a song sitting on top of the roof. In Grand Rapids he sang "Undo" which is one of my absolute favorite songs by them. It was ethereal to hear it live and especially in such an intimate way. This section of the show ends with "About You" which is from their most recent album. Once again, Polly sings a portion of the song and it is gorgeous!
Matty's Nightmare is the next section of the show. He comes to the B-stage which is essentially a square of grass on a high platform. I was lucky enough to have seats almost right in front of the B-stage. A replica of his naked body rises from below and he lays next to it. There are many interpretations of what this means but overall I just found it very beautiful no matter what the true meaning is. After a while, the body lowers back into the ground and instead a microphone rises. Matty then plays an acoustic version of "Be My Mistake". Things got a bit blurry at this point for me because I was so in awe at the fact that he was right there. At some point he leaves and Polly begins singing "Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America". This is a newer addition to the show.
The last section of the show is so fun. It starts with "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" which is so upbeat and fun to dance to. They then play "TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME" in which the screen flashes different colors, along with some lyrics. It was an amazing number to see live. We then hear "Heart Out", "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)", and "The Sound". Matty always asks the audience to jump during "The Sound" (usually telling everyone they look gay if they don't). They then play "Somebody Else" which is my absolute favorite song of theirs. It's so painfully beautiful and surreal to hear live.
The next song was "Girls" which was a complete surprise. Sometimes they take audience requests for a song, but this time they just played "Girls" and I could not be happier. It was the first song of theirs I ever listened to and I dreamed of hearing it live someday. Matty read the lyrics from the book titled "The 1975 Girls". The next song is "Love It If We Made It" which was also so surreal for me as it has been one of my favorite songs. Unfortunately we didn't get Matty doing the dance for the chorus, but it was still amazing. The second to last song is "Sex" which was also incredible to hear live after listening for so long.
The final song of the show is "People" which I found was a very interesting choice. It's so unlike almost any of their songs as it's a lot of screaming in a way? I don't know how to explain it, but it's so different from anything else. They typically will play it on the B-stage (Matty, Ross, and Adam), but unfortunately for me they played it on the main stage. It is such a cool way to end the show with everyone just going absolutely nuts.
Overall Matty didn't talk much during the show other than accepting someone's wedding invite and flirting with some firefighters in uniform. It was still an electric concert and one of the greatest experiences I have had in my life. Such great music and musicians!

thank you thank you @throughthepostmodernlens for tagging me for ABIIOR (probably one of my favourites) ♡♡♡
album: A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships
fave songs: Give Yourself A Try, TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME, Love It If We Made It (probably in my top 3 1975 songs of all time), I Like America & America Likes Me
underrated song: How To Draw / Petrichor (people sleep on this one and it's truly one of my absolute favourites from them. It gives me major Notes vibes and I adore Notes.)
overrated song: Couldn't Be More In Love (THIS WAS SO HARD TO PICK ONE. This album is entirely perfect and none of them are overrated, so I just had to pick one okay? I ended up picking from the ones I had the least listens on.)
fave mv: It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) (okay so I love this more than absolutely anything solely because it's a Talking Heads reference to the live concert film 'Stop Making Sense' that was directed by Jonathan Demme who also directed Silence of the Lambs. so sorry for info dumping but I'm super obsessed with Talking Heads and David Byrne)
skip: The Man Who Married A Robot / Love Theme (there's a time and a place where I don't skip, but I mostly tend to skip unfortunately)
rating: 11/10 (this is a top album for me)
I am tagging anyone who wants to do this, I encourage you to specifically do NOACF ♡♡♡
