3. What work are you most proud of

Unspoken was hard. The idea was in my head since the beginning of summer when I was sick with COVID and feeling a certain type of way, and I'd slowly chipped away at it since. I have five more scenes that are partially or wholly finished for that one, but I ended up only posting one scene. That scene was something I wrote straight through, pretty late at night, with a ten hour loop of Temple of Time background music while it was storming outside. It was very much an everything aligning kind of moment, and while I wish I had been able to pull the rest of it together, I am very proud of how that one scene turned out.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most

It's kind of random, but I go back to Woe a lot. It's pretty short, and doesn't have much plot besides "Time is sick and he will be resting for the day", but the solidarity of the group in really pronounced in that one. It's domestic but a couple steps to the right. Everyone gets along and works together so easily, but they're also definitely up for pranks and teasing.

27. What do you listen to while writing?

I've got a couple things! I've got a playlist on spotify that's some mixed lofi from Pokemon and Zelda. I also listen to, like, all of Rozen's Zelda covers. But sometimes I just put on the Hyrule Warriors OST, Pokemon Legends Arceus OST, or one of these Breath of the Wild Ambience videos. Whatever I'm feeling at the time, and whatever fits the vibe of what I'm writing.

29. Favorite line/passage written this year

hjfgshdgj it's a slightly longer passage so I'm putting it under the cut, but it's from Scraps & Thread, which is a Hyrule Warriors fic I wrote for my birthday this year <3

It was the ugliest scarf Link had ever seen.

At least, he assumed it was supposed to be a scarf. He slowly picked it up, confirming that it did in fact seem to be a scarf-shaped item. It was the only possible thing such an agglomeration of fabric could pass for, and even then it was stretching the definition. The thing barely held itself together. The scraps used to create it must have wanted to be blue, but the various shades were faded and dulled in comparison to the blue he wore around his neck.

The needlework wasn’t much better. Each scrap was hand sewn together, and the quality of the stitching left Link praying whoever made it wouldn’t have to patch themselves up on the battlefield with a needle and thread. Despite being newly presented to him, the scarf was already fraying and unravelling in a few places. It was about as threadbare, pathetic, and ugly as a scarf could ever get.

Link laughed, the sheer absurdity of the gift requiring no other response. Luckily the others took it as a sign of approval and laughed along with him, offering each other high-fives and exchanged grins. Link tugged the blue silken scarf from around his neck, letting it pool in his lap as he attempted to maneuver the new scarf into a wearable state. It was much longer than the other one, and looping it around a few more times made him feel obnoxiously bundled up for sitting next to the fire, but he didn’t mind.

One of the ends of the scarf felt different as he brushed his fingertips against it, and he glanced down. Embroidered on the last square were three letters. It was barely discernible, but LOZ was clearly the intention behind the extra stitching. His own initials, shakily declaring the scarf as his.

The scarf was hideous. The workmanship was probably the worst Link had ever seen. The fabric scratched uncomfortably against his neck, and it was a downright tripping hazard to wear. It was a complete fashion disaster that no one would want to be caught dead wearing.

It was the most beautiful gift Link had ever received.

quick guide to lucy:

Lucy is a 4-member band under mystic story: shin yechan (leader, oldest, violinist), choi sangyeop (main vocal, guitarist), cho wonsang (bassist, producer), shin gwangil (youngest, drummer). They were formed on JBTC'S program Superband. They had a different frontman, Lee Joohyuk, but after the program ended he went back to his original band, Gift. Sangyeop was also on Superband but was cut in an early round. They officially debuted May 8, 2020!

shin yechan:

-june 13, 1992

-leader (by default cause he's the oldest. his leadering skills are questionable at best)

-been playing violion for 13+ years! his mom played violin and got him into it. he's officially trained as a classical violinist

-fake maknae. ive had people tell me they thought he was the youngest which... fair. he's always doing something to make the members laugh, intentionally or not.

-very proud of being in like a Special Unit in the military

-the main producer for lucy! they all have credits in some way but wonsang's kinda the brain behind most of their stuff, especially from superband.

-he gets a lil scary in the studio apparently. which is the exact opposite of how he is normally.

-beautiful voice as well! does a lot of the higher parts in lucy songs

-actively says in interviews that the name lucy is gender neutral (along with the explanation that the band is named after a dog that lived in the studio where they worked on superband)

Dance of the Sky Empire 天舞纪 Review

Finally, I am the last of Xu Kai's dramas!

Dance of the Sky Empire (https://mydramalist.com/49159-dance-of-the-sky) is available on iQiYi for free, not sure if there are any other websites that offer English subtitles for this drama.

I'm just a casual drama watcher so there might be some things I miss out, some things that I dislike and if your opinion differs, it is fine and totally okay.

Onto the review

Plot

From the start, I would say the summary on mydramalist is HIGHLY inaccurate due to some part that I will mention below.

My version of the summary.

10 years before the current timeline, Zi Ji seals the Dragon Emperor of Kunwu Clan but in the process the saint of Kunwu clan was injured and declares that the Dragon Emperor will be unsealed in 10 years. 10 years later, Youlian, the current saint of Kunwu Clan, meets Li Xuan, the national protector of Qingtian, What will happen?

Why do I say the summary on mydramalist is meh?

1. arrival of Li Xuan, a human and Kunwu hybrid

There was no 'arrival' he has always been the national protector of Qingtian and it was no secret. Also, the fact that he was a hybrid did not really affect the story much in my personal opinion.

2. Long Wei Er, a prince, breaks the fragile peace.. all three become entangled in a complicated relationship

I would say Long Wei Er is a insignificantly significant character so why mention? And they three did not have ANY complicated relationship.

3. decide where his allegiance lies, with his heart and who he is or with his nation and the people he has known since young?

There is no serious allegiance or such honestly.

I feel that in the first place, there should put the sealing of the Dragon Emperor to the later episodes as a flashback/realisation of what happened then so that there is greater suspense because I actually watched like the first 14 episodes in 2x speed because without any suspense, the rest was honestly like filler filler.

Next, if you are going to hint/bring up the fact that Li Xuan is a mix of the two clans, bring more suspense or hint like his powers mysteriously increased or such. Like not say with a sentence of two that oh he can heal his wounds and that his powers increased tremendously after fighting with so and so.

Next, I felt that there should be more depth to why Zi Ji wanted to seal the Dragon Emperor and not just have him say that 'oh I was afraid of their power so I decided to seal him' in the last few episodes using a few sentences. Like give more flashbacks where he had dreams of them abusing their power or something.

Also, I felt that there was no serious hesitation in Li Xuan when he helped Kunwu Clan etc. Like he was already disagreeing with what actually happened, then he would not have shown such surprise when he saw the Kunwu kids hiding in the Prince's cargo. If there was more contrast to his opinion versus what others force on him, then I would say that there is more 'which should he swear his allegiance to' kind of thing. Him saving those kids, being okay with the hidden Kunwu village versus him disagreeing with unsealing the Dragon Emperor like destroying the stone etc should be shown more with reason, like he thinks that the emperor is dangerous and should not be unsealed while Kunwu clan is innocent and should not be bullied etc. His actions are already contradicting each other so I really don't understand.

Long Wei Er being a guy or girl does not change the plot that much honestly? Like sure she can like Li Xuan and deal some shock to her father but her contribution beyond that is ??? so I also don't understand why.

Acting

I actually find the acting of all actors good enough, nothing that is surprising but also nothing that made me think that they do not suit the character.

The only one I have to comment on is actually Wu Jia Yi only.

Okay so I might be very affected by her acting in Arsenal Military School and Court Lady but her character in both of the shows are more proud, free and just has more character. Also, both of those shows used her actual voice and her voice is one of the most memorable voices because it's a very ringing voice.

However, her character here is very timid and shy compared to her previous ones which felt disorientating to me. Also, I understand that she bears heavy responsibility for the Kunwu Clan so she does not smile often in this drama but even in front of Li Xuan, she does not actually let go that often so I feel that she is like unfeeling in a sense. Not sure if it is due to the script or her interpretation of her character but I have preferred if they let her smile at times.

Amongst all the Xu Kai dramas, I would say this has the least I want to ship this couple feel, even the side couple I would ship more than the main one.

OST

The OST is surprisingly good even how short the drama is. Normally most of the dramas with good OSTs have more than 40 episodes but all the songs for this drama fit it well and are great.

Overall

I would give this a 7.2/10. There are just too many parts in the story that made me ???. If they rearranged it and added more suspense/parts to solve, it would be better.

I personally would also not rewatch it again to even find out if I missed any parts etc because I just think there are so many gaps to begin with that filling some would not make it better.

Fruits Basket, SE02, Ep24

This is a buildup ep for the finale. looks like furuba’s tradition for awkward buildup eps continues as this ep is clearly divided into two parts: machi & zodiac banquet.

-Killing the Vibe (furuba style):

Usually when writers buildup an emotional moment, they either go with it right away or if it is not its time, they slowly dissolve it or gradually redirect the story somewhere else. But the most important thing is that you hold on to the feeling they worked so hard to build but know that it will be dealt with later. Usually this is done with minor visuals such as quick flashback to the main event & the character taking deep breath ignoring it. But it is acknowledged that now it is not the time. Furuba doesn’t do that. If they build high moment & decide it is not the time to continue with it, they drop it abruptly, using the ending ost as a closing sign....which is odd cuz this is not episodic eps but continuing plot. They did it twice now: (a) tohru’s nightmare ep 19. it was treated as cliffhanger, but the next, we opened with yuki’s narrative where we see tohru normal. I know tohru’s issues will be dealt with later, perhaps season 3. But the nightmare moment was left hanging weirdly!! we never saw tohru deciding not to focus on it or anything! then (b) the kyo/tohru moment on stage & the symbolic tearing image ep23. Big moment which I know will be focused on later. But it is so freakin odd that we see them so normal in their daily activities..as if nothing happened. Not a slight visual hint that either one is troubled... I praised how in ep, 23, they showed tohru face worrying abt bits & pieces here & there. These visual hints connects the plot.. For a moment I thought Cinderella play is a filler!! but I don’t think so, since 3 major things happened (Tohru’s near confession, machi’s opinion of yuki, arisa’s recorded outburst) two of which dealt with this ep. I know they want the focus to be on yuki, seeing that his plotline is moving smoothly without awkward breaks, but why not smooth out the other’s plotline with minor visuals without the jarring jumps. Ending ost is not automatic shifts in continued plot. Oh well, it is a minor thing I felt, no big deal.

-Machi pov is here!:

I never expected to see machi today! nice surprise! So machi is not only lonely, she lives alone! that’s odd & tragic! how can a junior high school student live alone? since when was she living alone? & her mom calling to check on her or insult her or scold her! I never wanted a phone call to end this fast. Machi’s monologue was amazingly done. Rather than describing her feelings to us or stating what we are already seeing, the words came cold.. automatic.. slow.. without much emotions. Exactly imitating how machi feels abt herself. DULL. She never thought abt things such as fave color or fave place. never thought abt anything that requires personality or preferences. The imagery they used while she was walking in the street is epic! It explained her mentality! honestly even if she said nothing around that time while she was walking, the image would’ve done enough! Machi was able to see the change in yuki cuz she was able to sense that yuki too was dull/boring or felt he felt so. Now he laughs, jokes, interacts, & joins outside school activities. Negating the dull persona. Now, it is only her. machi questions if she can do the same but her question comes out loaded with her negativity. Instead of can I do the same? it is “ why Am i here? Her bad habits are pulling her back & resisting the change.

- Since they’re deciding to embark into the romantic aspect of mach/yuki & to further add contrast to his interaction with tohru, machi is shown so struck by yuki’s presence, she falls. Typical romantic moment that I appreciate for machi who thinks she isn’t typical girl. but dull girl. Yuki finding the leaf & being happy that she treasures it adds to his self-esteem as it tells him that he is worthy to be treasured. I love machi’s indecisive responses! It gives her personality! as she is reluctant between denying or telling the truth. She was never in such situation, so she doesn’t know what to do!! blushing red like her leaf, machi didn’t only go with friends, she also learned her fave color! yuki, developing the future boyfriend detective sense like kyo, guessed it that machi likes red. You remember things abt ppl you find interesting! Machi felt that perhaps to yuki she is not dull, but interesting enough to want to learn things abt her!

-Tohru is a grown woman!!!

trust me to take 5sec interaction that involves my girl & write a deep analytic paragraph! Call it building sandcastles out of nothing but I don’t care! XD. tohru deserves some spotlight! I’m a bit disappointed that the scene is shown form a far to include yuki & shiggure..(WHY???. They can have their moment later! let my girl have a screenshot for a change!!) & the art quality is the lowest in the ep, lol & but whatever~~~ let’s focus on the positive side! my tohru bought sth for herself!! tohru who spent her hard earned money on buying candy ingredients for the filthy rich sohma’s instead of paying her tuition fees?!! tohru who wore a worn out swimsuit for school & didn’t see the value in buying new one ?! tohru whose school bag have seen better days as hiro said?!! tohru bough herself a scarf with pompom!!& she’s PROUD!! & she goes & shows kyo!!!! cuz she loves him & cuz in SE01 he was mad she doesn't buy herself stuff & cuz she knows he’ll be proud of her & cuz she want show off her cuteness & get his attention & cuz she wanna tease him!! Did you see my girl deliberately hit him with the pompom??? my girl is feisty!! She teases!! Tohru has this feisty, forward personality that she hides but peeks in certain instances!! Like when she teased kyo that he’s still scared of the stain on the wall..like when she calls him cute later this ep!! I’m so happy for every tiny teeny moment of tohru where she is herself & not the worrying mom or friend, when she is focused abt what she shows & what she wants & right now she wants kyo to notice her! GIRL HE ALREADY DOES! you are killing him already tohru..he’d be dead by now if he wasn’t a cat with 9 souls! XD.

-Yuki is leaving Akito’s side:

coming to the big moment in this ep. Akito is loosing yuki. Not only yuki decided by himself to attend the banquet that he avoided last year, he also talked to akito & forgave him for everything before. Yuki is letting go of the past. Forgiveness is a cure ppl! it’s the hardest achieved cure. it cuts the ties to negativity & free the person from the painful feelings. Akito knows she’ll be loosing a zodiac member soon! she reacts the same way she did with hatori! violently resisting change, violently making a statement that I’m the ruler of you. However, unlike when it was hatori, no one came to her. Kureno stopped her. but the rest went to yuki, to the rebel, to the one who caused her pain & rage. Akito is not only loosing yuki...she is slowly loosing all of them.

- Yuki continues the next step in his growth & frees hatori from his sins. By allowing himself to accept that he is not a helpless victim, yuki was able to see the others plain as well. Before, in his mind, he was the only one suffering, others are cruel, but now, he sees the criminal who erased his friends memories was also suffering all along. Perhaps yuki thinks that akito is suffering too? That’s why chose to forgive her & tell her that I don’t hate you anymore or hold grudge.

Side Notes:

I’m so glad kakeru had so little to do with machi & yuki interaction here. He is a character that demands spotlight & if his role was bigger, machi would disappear, it will be another yuki/kakeru moment. Also, since machi/kakeru parallel aya/yuki, you bet kakeru will be more involved between them in order to get closer to his sister & fix the gap like aya did, so I appreciate the moment of only yuki/machi now as it is unique moment without any parallels involved.

After learning of Shigure’s correct line, I can now see how things would’ve been better for akito, if she learned from yuki’s rebellion. loosing one is less painful than loosing them all, which she will. Shigure was eager for her to be spared the pain. or he might be eager for sth else entirely! but he wants this to end.

Shigure sure wasn’t himself this ep! he was restless & his jokes were all over the place, he nearly caused a misunderstanding between hatori & Mayko. I think shigure is hearing the curse breaking!!!!!

Rin & kyo!!!! I never knew I needed this!!! like last ep, I was celebrating hana & kyo, & the return of kyo & haru!! but rin & kyo is unique duo since it is not a teasing dynamics! it is a we-are-too-similar dynamics! XD

Kazuma is luv!! ugh!! my heart! what a man!! so caring & kind & ever so gentle! look at him going to rin to invite her! no kid should be alone in new years! look at him teasing his son!! look at him out polite tohru! just look at him!!!

I appreciate that the boys (kyo,yuki.haru,momiji) have different body types from each other. however, since kyo’s body changing is mentioned in the story many times, they focused on showing him growing since the 2nd ep of season 2 & more so in the beach arc & they steadily continued ever since!!! this ep, even with the low quality they showed his Adam’s apple & he is taller next to shishio. Also his baggy clothes help defy the lanky art style. With yuki, since his beauty is mentioned in the story, they’ve been focused on his face, giving him HD quality beauty all the time, but not much when it comes to his body. but today, he looked a lil bit older in machi’s scene? I duno if it is the new clothes or they’re finally allowing his body to grow?! I hope so. They are still making him so lanky as his legs were only a bit meatier than machi’s in the fight scene, but hey lankiness is the show’s art style, just look at hatori </3. They focused on making Momiji baby as it is mentioned in the story that he doesn’t look like a highschooler at all, but I swear he looks a bit older this ep!! right???

Speaking of hatori, hello there~ doc~ I never knew I needed hatori in Japanese clothes this much! It hid the lankiness & gave him the adult manly look he deserves!! so hot!!! I heard his grunt in my heart as he took his clothes off! XD. Soyou’re attached to the school sensie now~~ a lit bit worried your filthy buddy is putting hands on her..huh? oh!, if only you knew that your goofy pal is the master mind behind your new love story! I think he knows tho~

I never expected machi to be that cute!!! machi/yuki is so cute!

Rin sleeps sitting...like a horse? rin didn’t feel haru? i thought horses are as jumpy as cats! lol

Tohru & kyo are having quality flirting time with no interference from either shigure or yuki. lol.. shishio is amazing! XD

Kureno has the DVD now..let the war begins!!!

Sweet Night - Song analysis

So I decided to do a small analysis for Taehyung’s new self-written song “Sweet night” which is the OST for the drama “Itaewon Class”. It’s a very sweet song, and I am very proud of Tae.

I usually aren’t the biggest fan of completely English songs, but even though it’s a bit hard to hear the words clearly sometimes it doesn’t bother me much and I do like the melody, the lyrics and Tae’s voice. I’m really proud over Tae and how he seems to really embrace songwriting a lot more. But it’s quite a bittersweet song to be honest. Or at least it gives an uncertain feeling.

It is a song for a drama, so it is difficult to know how much of the song is from Tae and what might be done to fit the drama. He also isn’t the only writer. However I will speak from a perspective where we guess what it could mean if this is based on Taehyung’s personal feelings and of course also with a possible Vmin perspective.

For me this song (and even Scenery which has some similar parts and themes) seem to show a person who longs to be with someone but that feel like they have probably missed their chance. Or at least they aren't sure if there still is the same chance as there might have been before. And that it was their own fault that they missed their chance before as well, because as the song imply they didn't realize their own feelings from the start. The feelings changed at some point.

It’s a love song, but it’s a very unsure one. It’s uncertain about if there even is a future for that love, if it’s all too late, or even if it’s real at all (real as in If the other person would feel the same). So it’s not really a happy song even though it does have a small sliver of hope. For me it's about a lost chance in the past and wondering what might be there in the future. Let’s look at the lyrics and I will explain what I mean.

Looking at the lyrics, Tae sings about how he can’t sleep and how he is telling us a “fragile truth”. Which means it’s something he is unsure about (not unsure about his own feelings, but if he should confess them or not), and maybe he doesn’t even know if it’s something he should talk about at all. It also seems like he is somehow still hope for something but that he worries that the chance is gone or that he doesn't know if the other person would feel the same. If we look at this as a traditional love song and that it’s about a particular person these are feelings he are very confused about and sad about. He still hopes despite it all though.

Referencing a window being open before and hoping a door can still open for them as well as using the image of two ships in the night, crossing each other for a short time, barely seeing each other and that Tae also already reached the shore. All of it seems to indicate that it could be too late for him and whoever he longs for. It also indicates that there was perhaps a short time where it looked like something was possible but that that time has already passed, but Tae hopes for a second change. (Similar to what he does in Scenery). He still wants there to be something that has been there before, that he missed at the time.

He also asks the question “Are you my best friend?” and this could be both ways, either that he isn’t sure if this person is his best friend, or that he isn’t sure if it’s more than friendship. Personally I think it's 'are we more than friends' considering the whole songs romantic tone. Either way the line about “rushing through my mind” is pretty obviously about him not being able to think clearly. That he is confused and overwhelmed by his feelings.

His next line about “I wanna ask you” if directed to the same person the song is about makes it seem he also doesn’t know if perhaps this thing between them is something real. Or if it’s something he alone is feeling. Basically it could be unrequited and he isn’t sure if his own image of the relationship matches with the other person. But it sounds like his impression is that it is something real between them, but he’s not sure if maybe he is imagining it.

Then he asks if this person is too good to be true, which again seem to point at either his whole image is just something he has built in his head or simply that this person is all he wants and he finds them almost too good to be true. This would match well with all the dreamlike feelings Tae has used to describe love in songs like Winter Bear or his Christmas song, which are much happier and idyllic. It’s possible that Sweet Night could be the step before Winter Bear and the Christmas song and show the progress of being happily falling in love. It’s also possible the other two songs are the more happy longing before he realizes their chance may have passed. If the songs would even talk about the same lovestory at all.

He also asks is it would be alright if he pulled this person closer. This could indicate a possible change in the future, but together with all the other references it seems to almost drown amongst the more negative outcomes of it being too late or one-sided. However it is the ending, and it’s also switched from past tense, so it could be the happy ending of a unsure time. Using "would it be alright if I pulled you closer?" is his wish and hope. Meaning he hasn't neccessarily given up even if he isn't sure about the other person's feelings.

Lastly there is the line “How could I know, one day I would wake up feeling more” and this piece of lyrics truly seem to point at this song being about a person falling in love with their best friend. One day everything is just different, the love is more than what it used to be.

So I guess this in combination with Jimin and in particular Taehyung having confirmed numerous times through the years that they are best friends is the main reason for why people thought of Jimin when they heard this song. Taehyung also seemed to use "My best friend" a lot prior to releasing this song and have pointed out Jimin as his "One and only best friend" making it difficult to not let your mind be drawn towards Jimin. Especially since Friends just came out and we clearly have in our minds how close Vmin are and how they consider each other not only best friends but even soulmates. Basically the timing of this song coming out so close to the album will make people react even more. I suspect this could also be a reason why Jimin hasn’t said anything about it like he tends to do.

Tae also said in his vlive with Namjoon how he gets inspiration from his own feelings a lot. He says “I tend to write what I have felt into the lyrics” and he also said he wrote this song while abroad, so it’s difficult to know if these feelings would be new or old as well. (Though if we consider it to be about Vmin and how they have acted recently it seems more likely to be old feelings.) It also makes Tae’s earlier songs more likely to be very personal and perhaps even reflect different sides of the same love story that he is describing here.

Looking at Scenery in particular we can see a few common things, at the very least in theme and feelings.

Some lyrics from Scenery includes:

I still wonder wonder beautiful story

Basically in Scenery we see some similarities with how Tae knows his feelings now, but that he also that he possibly regrets them, or rather perhaps regrets failing last time they had a chance. In combination with the lyrics for Sweet Night that could mean the other person came before him but Tae himself didn't have those feelings at that time. Something he later regret as his feelings change or become more clear to him. He also seems to want a second chance, asking for the person to come in front of him again. And also that he wants to make them his and looks forward to see what a possible future could hold. So a lot of similarities but in the end a bit more hopeful and certain compared to Sweet night. He knows what he wants, to make the other person his. So despite Sweet Night being a bit hesitant together with Scenery and even more with a Vmin perspective of all other Vmin songs, I think the outcome was a happy one.

That being said there are also many ways a feeling can change and be reinterpreted in a song. So even if the song is partly about his feelings it’s not possible for us to know how much or which parts, or when he felt this.

I also haven’t seen the drama Itaewon Class so I can’t say how much the song fits in with the drama either. It’s not just Tae who has worked on the song, so it’s possible it’s also been altered to fit the narrative of the story more. Though I have heard people say it doesn’t really fit in with the relationships between the characters. But again, I haven’t watched it yet so I can’t say anything about it.

Anyways, assuming the song is based mostly on Taehyung’s own feelings (and not mostly fiction) there are in my opinion three ways to view it.

1. Just because he uses the phrase “Are you my best friend” it doesn’t automatically mean it has to be about Jimin. It could be about someone else, even someone we don’t know.

2. If it is about Jimin it could be a song based on old feelings and that things have already changed since Taehyung felt like this. Perhaps “Friends” even being the happy solution.

3. The song is about Jimin and it reflects Taehyung’s feelings now. At the very least he is hoping for more and is bold enough to release a song about it.

If I’m completely honest what it sounds like if we assume the best friend is Jimin is that Taehyung has realized he loves Jimin as more than a friend, but he doesn’t know what to do with that. He doesn’t know if that is a possible future for them and he isn’t even sure if it’s just him feeling this. Perhaps he is confused about both his own feelings as well as what Jimin could possibly feel for him.

It’s possible with option three that what we have seen all these years is actually Tae struggling with his own feelings without properly knowing what they are, but that now he knows but he feels scared about revealing them. It's possible he has reason to think Jimin might feel something more too based on their past lost chance. It’s also possible he hasn’t even said something at all to Jimin. That this song is just a way for him to express something that has been occupying his mind. It seems unlikely though, with the way Vmin behave and even more looking at their other songs possibly being connected.

I do find it interesting that he sings about feelings changing for someone, and even mentioning “best friend”. I think those are the parts that make this almost look a little bit like a confession from Tae’s side. And at the very least he has now shown that he probably agrees that you can fall in love with your best friend. It all keeps in fitting very well with Vmin… I can’t deny that.

Either way, what it looks like IF it even is about Jimin at all, is that their relationship is (or was) complicated and that Taehyung is a bit unsure and afraid about what they are and if Jimin would feel the same.

So, to me if this is something Taehyung truly feels and if it is about Jimin, I think Vmin are not in any kind of relationship but that perhaps Taehyung hopes for more. At the point in time of this song. Because we don’t know when Tae would possibly have felt like this or if he still feels it.

This is my take on the subject and the lyrics at least, and I can’t say it wouldn’t fit even though it sounds like a fanfiction. Especially since I personally have always felt more like Tae is the one showing potentially romantic feelings for Jimin, while Jimin has always been harder to read.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading this. Personally I feel a bit sad looking at these lyrics and knowing it’s possibly something Tae has felt himself. But in the end we know Vmin are soulmates and love each other, so at least there is that.

EDIT: I feel I need to say that while this song on it’s own looks like it’s a bit sad and unsure I personally don’t think that if it’s about Vmin it would still be like this. It's about a moment in time, something Tae wonders if they can change. First I find it unlikely Tae would write a song like this if he hasn’t already either talked about his feelings or gotten over them, at least not if it’s about Jimin. And secondly it’s obvious Vmin are very close and happy recently so I don’t think there is any “angst” there at the moment. This analysis is based on the lyrics and I have no way to know when or even if Tae would have felt like this.

so. let’s talk about these underrated kings. be prepared for rambling. I just love them too much. my favorite boys, 10/10 would recommend stanning them.

some basic information

We had to start all our friendships all over again. Though I suppose you refuse to do that. I can understand that...Out of all his more well known friends you despite only knowing him for 1 day became his most spoken of person.

Rosalina: ... ...We're gonna help him.

Meta Knight: ...Wait what?

Rosalina: When we get to Popstar we'll find a way to get him to remember us as he did before.

holy shit does anyone watch seventeen’s performance at dream concert? I do!

before I started praising seventeen all over again, I want to whine huhhuhuhuh. I recorded their performance for the whole 12 mins and turns out it doesn’t have any sounds. worst 12 mins for me. thought I want to keep it for some other time. hmmm I’m dwelling.....

plus these babies went back and forth from dream concert to cho yong pil’s concert. and mingyu have schedules tomorrow. huuuuu...

also. WTF IS YOUR STAGE SLIPPERY, DREAM CONCERT? yeah sure, the forecast is unpredictable. BUT HELL DO YOU HAVE TO FORCE NCT TO MAKE THEIR PYRAMIDS WITH SLIPPERY FLOORS? i’m sorry, this is unrelated, but I’m mad of the slippery stage, rain is no big deal, but I’m deadass not satisfy.

this last part of 17 post, we’ll talk about music and performance, shall we? since seventeen is known as self producing idols, I’m happily to explain in my own way. hik hik.

Self producing idol is seriously big deal. To start, seventeen is mad eof 13 members in 3 different units; Hip Hop team, Vocal team and Performance team.

these teams, I guess they were formed before debut, during Like Seventeen project? these teams, I think is one of a kind concept, like their rings. yeash.

Hip Hop team

S.coups, general leader and leader of Hip Hop team, following Vernon, Mingyu and Wonwoo. here’s to my bias. Hip hop team, they basically in charge of raps, check out Check In, but don’t ever think that they couldn’t sing. Heck I kill those people who says that can’t sing! Listen to Lean on Me and Trauma. Those three songs are my favs for Hip Hop team, and watch out for Mingyu’s vocal in Trauma. No kidding. Having a Vernon also a bonus, because he could make sexy English raps hahahahhaha. plus they have their own style of raps. I like that when they perform, they didn’t stick to their demos or their recorded song, always improvise and adlibs, which I really enjoy jamming with Hip Hop team.

Vocal team

Woozi, the small kid there is the leader of Vocal team, following closely Seungkwan, Jeonghan, Dokyeom and Joshua. here’s also lies my bias. Obviously in charge of vocals, personally I like Seungkwan’s voice the best. well he’s my top list in my bias list, so...... Even so, our Boo can rap too haaahahha. Check out Caratland 2018, where they switched the team’s song and vocal team got the hipp hop team song to sing rap. Favourite songs? Well actually I liked ballad songs and almost all of the vocal team song hit home. But personally, Pinwheel struck me the most. Woozi made the song based on his dreams. How cool is that???

Staying true to their names, they’re in charge of dancing. before anything else, please check out Lilli Yabbay, or 13 Month’s Dance. THAT’S AN ART! here’s also to my bias. okay, everyone is my bias. No, don’t tell me that they can’t do anything but dance. WRONG. Hoshi can sing and rap, he sung in Highlight, he rapped in BooSeokSoon’s unit song. Dino, the rapper of this team and sometimes he raps for Seventeen’s songs. Jun and Minghao can asdfghjkl sing, so never argue. Favourite song for this team? Highlight and Lilli Yabbay. But Swimming Fool is also catchy. Oh, and this group always made remixes for their title song to make as their dancing video, check out Mansae Concert Ver in their Youtube channel.

other notable songs like Just Do It - BooSeokSoon unit: consist of Boo Seungkwan, Lee Seokmin (Dokyeom) and Kwon Soonyoung (Hoshi), My I - China Line which is Jun and The8, Bring It - Hoshi and Woozi, Rocket - Vernon and Joshua and so on. One thing about these guys are even jokes can sometime become serious. BooSeokSoon unit came from their predebut days where Seungkwan, Dokyeom and Hoshi are the funniest triplets in seventeen, therefore their song is kinda cheesy and funny, China Line, well, they’re from China, Bring It, a song Hoshi and Woozi made because Carats matched them as HoWoo watch, and English line huhuhuhuh I freaking love Rocket. Another infamous song was Hurricane by Hoshi. It was actually first seen in their One Fine Day *I’m not sure whether it’s the Yeoseodo or Japan series* as a joke by Hoshi to Wonwoo. Suddenly, during Diamond Edge, Carats were suprised to see a joke become a reality.

The production of Seventeen’s music are mostly done by Seventeen themselves. Woozi produced their songs single-handed, with the help of their favorite Bumzu hyung. ever heard Downpour by IOI and Happy For Now by Baekho of NU’EST? you cried? yeah, blame Woozi. besides producing and making music, he also create lyrics. those a-shockingly meaningful lyrics especially for those suckers for meanigful things, Woozi gotcha.

Rappers write their own raps in all of their song, there will be at least one or two members for each song. because they have Joshua and Vernon, their lyrics also contain english words and also good grammars hoot, I mean you know how sometimes English words makes no sense in some Korean song, but seventeen done it pretty well heee

Do you ever watch Don’t Wanna Cry dance ver? or Thanks choreograpy? Amazed by it? Say thanks to Hoshi and Dino. again, staying true to their name, Performance team Hoshi and Dino really outdone themselves. They choreograph their own dance routines, with the help of their dance instructor, creating a masterpiece, just watch Lilli Yabbay or Thanks. I personally loved the part in Thanks where they lifted our Boo hehhe. Also, all 13 members are so good in dancing! KIM MINGYU! Breaking the myth of tall guys can’t dance. He’s so SHOCKINGLY HANDSOME WHILE DANCING.

but i’m still mad the fact the slippery stage of dream concert make him fall on his face :(

nowadays people are hyping about how Seventeen are able to open Cho Yong Pil’s concert, which is an honor, because Cho Yong Pil rarely invite guest. This recognition, after Seventeen won the 3rd part of Immortal Song, the legends special, seriously, they’ve got the highest score among all performers and the one and only boy group idol performing. Wow, I’m actually too proud that I couldn’t even express this properly. They even pushed away their schedule to seize the opportunity of meeting the legends.

The recognition they’ve gain today, yesterday and tomorrow. Seventeen is growing.

Another thing I liked about Seventeen is their passion. Seventeen always get to make remix of top songs in the year end music show, including girl songs. Even though it’s a girl songs, they managed to slay it. Even the covers and collabs. No. 1 by Boa, the cover they made at MAMA 2017. The superboy group Pledis combined with NU’EST W, making Heaven in ㄴㅇㅅㅌ and Carats heart. wow, the synchronization is no joke.

as I mention before, I like ballads, soft sweet tunes. So almost all vocal team song, I love all of them. But there’s this one particular song I really like to listen, this is the song, proves, that all members can sing. You just have to listen to them yourself. no, I’m not lying. just go and listen to it.

It turns out that Ailee once trained with Woozi and S.coups, so they’re already close. Woozi also made a few touches to Ailee songs, well. Friendship goals. Talked about friendship, I like DIA’s Chaeyeon with Mingyu in Inkigayo hik.

Today’s recognition, I think it’s a great deal, a great comeback after their struggle during predebut. I mean, they deserve everything they have today, yet still being humble. these sweeties still cry for something meaningful. all these recognition sometimes I forgot that they’re just like me, teenage and living carefree with feelings, therefore whenever it’s raining and they have to perform, even though they say it’s okay, carats would freak out if any of seventeen members slipped and fall. Seventeen are too lovable, you see. Seventeen loved Carats as much as Carats loved Seventeen. me too. to be honest, I had a really tough weekend and with Seventeen songs I found my peace, really. The fact that they’re too close to me, really help.

so here’s my confession: I love you, Seventeen, so much. Even though I never met you, but you’re so close because you keep an eye to Carats. Very warm, very sweet, all thirteen members of Seventeen. I want to grow old and remember you as my booster. Thank you. I love you.

hi liv! i'm so so so sorry that it has taken me a few days to respond, but i'm here now!! :) i was extremely busy and thankfully i'm finally finished with everything. it made me so happy to see that you loved the faceclaims that i came up with. i totally understand what you mean when you said you didn't want to impose looks of the girls on anyone - everyone definitely sees them all differently!!

also can we just take a second to talk about how obsessed i am with watching interviews of the boys and just listening to their music in general? like i know i've said that before but i just can't get over it! aside from listening to their work as a group i've been listening to some of their solo stuff as well and all i have to say is that i'm hooked. i watched itaewon class and listened to taehyung's song sweet night (ost) and i'm sure i've had it on loop forever. his voice is so calming :(

i ended up doing the same thing with epiphany - jin's vocals are just so underrated. while working i caught a cold so i was just in bed watching videos of them and listening to their music and it really boosted my mood! i saw so many clips of them speaking english back from when they were first debuting vs now and i'm so proud of them for how much they have improved. i saw one where they were getting ready for an awards show and tae said he felt bad about how namjoon was always translating

back and forth between the two languages for them so he had started preparing days in advance before the awards show so he could help him 🥺 i saw this interview where namjoon said that he learned english by watching the show friends but he still has trouble sometimes because he feels like people think it's so easy for him to speak english on command and that since that they live in korea, he is way more used to speaking korean and forgets english a little.

i really feel like the boys don't give themselves enough credit for that, especially jin. i think i read somewhere that he said feels bad sometimes that he isn't fluent in english because it makes it difficult to connect more with armys who are international. but i saw clips from bon voyage where he was talking to strangers and he is just a social butterfly despite the language difference. i love that despite the barrier they still reach out -shea ❤ ps: i hope you are well!!

Oh my god sweet night is such an amazing song!!!! All of Tae’s songs become such a comfort to me, I just adore him and his voice and his lyrics and ugh just the dearest boy. I love watching him explore his music more and more and become more confident and comfortable in his abilities. The man is truly just getting started and I cannot wait for KTH1.

Jin’s solo songs tend to be some of my most played, when I say that man is my emotional support seokjinnie I mean that with every bit of my being. Where would I be without Jin honestly, he’s so special. All of their solo work is so good and rap line’s mixtapes are probably some of my most played albums ever. Agust D, D-2, mono, and hope world are four of my favorite works in existence, the fact that these three dudes are all part of the same group- goddamn.

I completely agree, it’s really impressive to see how much they’ve improved their english over the past few years. I know they’ve made it a goal to be able to speak it more and it shows. Jungkook’s english is fantastic and Jin does so well with communicating with people- he’s just a social sweetheart though, it’s his presence.

Ya know what, if someone doesn’t like Jin then I simply do not trust that person the man is so likable. That really goes with all of bts though like if you have something against one of the members, I probably have my doubts about you lmao.

But anyways! Joon’s english is obviously insanely impressive but I do feel bad that he has so much pressure on him to speak it so often. He manages so well but it’s gotta be a ton of work and honestly quite stressful and exhausting. He’s just incredible, forever proud of Joonie. Honestly, bts’ ability to communicate with fans across the world is beautiful and admirable. THE BEST BUNCH!!!!

Are you somebody who thinks before you act or do you act before you think? It honestly depends on the context of the situation. When I’m with friends or people I’m comfortable with or when I’m tired, I act before I think. When I’m skeptical of others or anxious about how I’m being perceived, I think before I act.

What’s your current obsession? Mmm, tough! I’ve been really into watching movies recently, particularly the Oscar-nominated films. I’m sad because I side with the New Academy on a lot of their picks but know that the Old Academy still dominates so rip ;;;

If you ever wanted to change your name, what would it be? I used to hate my name and thought about changing it to “Willow Kathryn” instead of “Jessica Kathryn.” I don’t know what I was thinking when I was younger; I just know that, now that I’m older, I would never go through with such a change. LMAO

Least and favorite subjects in school? Favorite was literature, least favorite was (and will always be) math.

How tall are you? 157 cm (though I like to think I’ve grown a bit ;;;;)

Do you have a phobia? I don’t think that any of my fears are strong enough to constitute a phobia? Though I will admit to an awful abhorrence of bugs.

Would you prefer to go where there’s less people or more people? I’m assuming you mean live? And if that’s the case, then less people. If it’s late at night or something though (like now!), I prefer to be around more people.

Do you believe that the world is divided into good and bad people or is everybody the same? if so, why? To assume that the world is Manichean feels like an antiquated, small-minded notion; to assume that everyone in the world is the same feels ignorant and dehumanizing. I believe that all “divisions” within our culture (I’m throwing morality into this category for the purpose of this question) are man-made constructs--in that sense, there’s no right or wrong answer. In my case, it’s just fundamental disagreement with the notion, lol. On the question of morality, however, I will say that I believe that all individuals exist on a spectrum and cannot be definitively good nor definitively bad; to label someone in a single category like that limits future perception of them and implies an inability for human change/growth.

[pre-school teacher voice] What do you want to be when you grow up? I wanted to be a teacher, and then a pediatrician, and then a writer, and then a professor. And now I’m back to teacher. We’ve come full circle. LOL.

What did you do today? GOT SOME OF MY SHIT TOGETHER!! Double-checked my degree audit with my advisers, met with the dean of my college to ensure that I’m on-track to meet the criteria for graduating summa cum laude with the dean’s medal in December, and discussed scholarship funding with some of my current sponsors. I thought that I was going to owe my school money after the summer, but it’s looking like they’re going to be paying me instead. 😎

What’s the last really good fanfic or meta you’ve read? I’ve... honestly been slacking really hard in the reading department for the fandom. How are you feeling? I just really want the semester to be over because I’m tired of the workload? But at the same time I’m really antsy about that because it means graduation is just that much closer?? And idk if I’m fully ready for that?? Like, I know that I am but like... I still don’t feel like an adult lekrjwlekrri

Favorite sitcom? Parks and Recreation, hands down. I binged the entire series when I was going through a bad breakup, and whenever I can’t sleep or need a pick-me-up, the show always has my back. I’m p sure that if Netflix ever removes it I will die.

Anime or manga or neither? I’ve always been partial to manga!

Favorite kind of smoothie? The Beach Bum at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe! I like it because I’m a sucker for chocolate, but the ingredients in the smoothie still make me feel like I’m healthy.

Got any allergies? I’m mildly allergic to dust and pollen. For some reason I’m severely allergic to a certain species of grass. (And, because I have the best of luck, it’s the species of grass that is native to Florida. It’s everywhere I go and I just want to be able to sit in the park without breaking out into hives. ;;;)

What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever purchased? I just recently paid $800+ for VIP tickets for my parents and I to go see Elton John in concert. But, like, I know it’ll be worth it so I’m not even mad LMFAO

What is your favorite soap scent? Ooooh, this is a really tough one! I can’t think of anything specific, but I’m a fan of scents with floral undertones!

What is the talent of yours that you are most proud of? Please go on and on and on about it!! (and don’t say you have no talents because I know all of you well enough to know that’s not true >:’D) Mmmmm, this is tough! This is more of a personality trait, I suppose, but I’m really stubborn when it comes to getting what I want; if I have a goal in mind, I do absolutely everything that I can to achieve it. So far, this has worked out really for me, which is why I’m considering it a talent? I’m sure that a lot of it is just good luck though. LMAO. I think that I also have really good memory! What is your favorite book and why? Or TV show/anime/movie if you don’t like books? The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien--this book is honestly what inspired me to become a writer and holds a very special place in my heart. Second favorite would be The Mill on the Floss by George, and every time I’m reminded that it’s considered one of the worst books in classic lit I cry a little harder.

Which fictional character do you relate to the most? (And why, if you want?) Bakugou Katsuki, in terms of backstory (being praised when young and letting it go to my head), passion/ambition, and tendency for cursing. I’ve never been outspoken or antagonistic though, so that’s where our biggest difference is, lol. (He is still my Child though and I Would still die for him)

Do you have any collections? If so, what do you collect? Books and video games, I suppose! Though right now I’m also starting a magazine habit that I know I’ll regret in the future...

What are your top three best personality traits, and what is one thing about your personality that you want to work on? In no particular order: passion, empathy, and friendliness. I’d like to be more consistent outgoing when it comes to meeting new people and making new friends. I’ve been given many opportunities to form bonds with really awesome people, but I always get shy/awkward or just fudge it up. I’d really like to change that, haha.

Do you have any pets? If so, what is/are their personality/personalities like? I have a dog named Snowie! When she was younger, she was super rambunctious and liked playing in the dirt--wasn’t much of a cuddler. Now that she’s older, she’s a lot calmer. And she really likes cuddling which I really appreciate.

What is your preferred study method? Depends on what I’m doing specifically! If I’m reading lit or crit theory, I need an empty room, some good music, and soft lighting. If I’m preparing for a test or writing something up though, I need to be around other people. When it’s something that I don’t really want to do, constant supervision is necessary to make sure that I actually do it. LMAO.

What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? Impromptu island hopping and cliff diving on my cousin’s boat during my last trip to the Philippines!

What are your life goals? Oh boy. Although I mentioned that I’m a very goal-oriented person, I’m really bad at designing long-term goals? I think that I’ve only ever gotten as far as five or so years in the future. I guess I’ll say that I want to work in a job that I enjoy, surround myself with people I care about, and do something that makes me feel like I’ve left a mark. (Ahhh, this was such a bad answer! I can't believe they dropped a full-length album this good, only to promote for 2 weeks. There was only one variety show guesting and ee dont even have a dance video. A shame. Don't groups went on a long hiatus usually come back for longer periods? Idk i just miss them a lot and now we have to wait again. And yet, given the short amount of promotion time, they still went for an all-kill and im so proud of that.

Well knowing Woollim they will probably drop the dance version/practice in either 3 days or 4 months.. But I think i’m one of the few who isn’t angry abotu the short promotion period. Even though Sunmi’s short promotions for Heroine, the same time as Tell me is certainly curious. I know I am extremely biased and Sungyeol was doing 2 very demanding jobs at the same time. I didn’t mind the idea of the short promotions at first but when Sungyeol was missing during the acceptance speeches I realised how much I loved them together.

I am also a huge fan of Golden Child and I appreciate Woollim facing the facts that they suck. Hard. They suck at promoting artists at the same time so I appreciate them promoting back to back to back. Focusing at one thing at a time. Almost back to back to back for months on end. They started in the summer of 2017 with Lovelyz’ WoW followed by Now, We, followed by Golden Child’s debut Dam Da Di, followed by Lovelyz’ Twinkle followed by Infinite’s Tell Me. And now they have about a week between Infinite’s goodbye stages and Golden Child’s comeback. So their planning for now is working well.

So I don’t really mind the promotions being so short because I care about Sungyeol’s health. The others however are a tad different. Sunggyu has been active for a while. Ever since resigning I think. And I don’t think Woollim had trouble finding new work for him. He will be able to promote himself a lot more individually. He has a strong variety presence and an interesting personality in general. I am absolutely positive we will see another solo album from him this year!

Myungsoo as well had a great year. Even though I haven’t seen any of his drama’s since My Lovely Girl I trust his abilities blindly. Myungsoo really is lucky he is 1, handsome 2, a great actor 3, has other interests. Has anyone really thought about the fact that he has released 2 photobooks? That is.. odd? Other groups have released photobooks as well but it’s usually photoshoots. I have Beast’s selca book but that is about it. Myungsoo got the chance to release something he loves dearly and made himself. TWICE.

Dongwoo however. Damn I was so blown away by TGIF I really want a solo album from him. Even if it’s just a single album. He is so incredibly talented. We’ve been knowing that for 7+ years. I think he does have what it takes to promote himself individually. And can you imagine? Dongwoo’s first solo concept? So lighthearted and fun. What about a solo win? I will fight for that shit.

I don’t worry too much about Woohyun either. His music isn’t my favourite and I usually skip his solo’s but that doesn’t take away that he is popular as shit. Even though I will always be hoping for a ToHeart comeback because I adore his fun side with Key over his dramatic ballads. But wait, his last OST was in 2014? For Modern Farmer? What is this shit? GIVE HIM ALL THE OST’S!!

Sungjong is a bit different. I wasn’t a fan of his solo and he sounded like he bit off more than he could chew. Then again I have 0 musical knowledge so please don’t hate me for saying this. And I don’t think my love for Sungjong is even able to be questioned. I adore the shit out of him. I just really really hope he finds his drive somewhere. I want 2018 to be Sungjong’s year. In every way possible.

As a whole I have never doubted Infinite. And I did have my doubts about Inspirits but I am super glad I was proven so wrong. Half of Infinite’s stages where awarded? That in incredible!! Isn’t that a record somewhere? So I think we can definitely be proud, not just of Infinite but of each other as well!~

july 15th to july 23rd 2017 ➜ tenimyu’s seigaku VS rikkai

after years of dreaming, i finally had the chance to watch tenimyu in person. I saw VS rikkai 5 times within 1 week, and it still wasn’t enough! read on to hear my thoughts, my interactions with the actors & various other reports.

THE SHOW.

where to start. probably with how i started tearing up just from hearing the classic tennis ball sounds as the room is pitch black opening sequence.

the show started off with a rikkai number. they are. wonderful. i’m a HUUUGE fan of rikkai 2nd--they are my favorite rival team along with higa 2nd--so my expectations were set very high... but rikkai 3rd managed to reach them--and some of them completely surpassed my expectations. not even 5 minutes in, i was already blown away by their powerful singing voices.

seigaku’s opening number is a new song: and hikaru sings the second!! line!! In it, and god. GOD. each time he sang it, even after seeing the show 5 times, my hand would instinctively go up to my chest, i was just overwhelmed with emotion... the VOICE this boy has. mindblowing. i cannot wait for the DVD & OST of this show so i can add his new lines to my compilation of his singing. one of my friends, when we met during intermission of the first VS rikkai show she saw, the first thing she said was; SINCE WHEN CAN KAIDOH SING!?!??!? hehehe.

the ryoma VS kirihara match was amazing to watch. i feel like ryu is 50% genki & 50% motohisa, so i think everyone will be able to love him! he has the perfect attitude, demeanor and behavior down. his face is also very interesting to watch!! but what mostly amazed me about this match were nichika’s stunts during it. i had to go rewatch dori & yuuki’s performances to make sure i wasn’t exaggerating just how cool nichika was. i wasn’t. the way he knocks off his feet and falls each time kirihara hits his ankle is so believable and intense! it’s honestly scary! he did his stunts as intensely throughout the whole week. i’m really amazed by this kid. i really love kirihara+marui+jackal’s new song too, ruby eyes. it’s so catchy! it’s been 6 weeks and i could probably sing it off the top of my head still~

the hospital scene… i love how niou would touch yukimura’s shoulder or hair or fix his clothes when he walked in hehe. yukimura’s slow solo song following this scene was much longer than the one in previous seasons. and amazing. toshiki’s singing voice is incredibly powerful, heartfelt and beautiful. this was the only solo that consistently got an applause at the shows i went to. i’m really excited for everyone to get to hear his singing... his musical voice is MUCH better than his idol band thing voice. XD

rokkaku were always there to lighten the moood and make the crowd laugh. the banedabi higawari were especially funny... the best one was when bane-san turned into jijii... and i loved saeki’s solo!! kaname’s singing is sooo wonderful, it makes me especially excited to hear him sing The Best Song ever in VS higa.

D2: kaidoh+momo VS marui+jackal. this has always been one of my favorite matches in the anime, and i loved ikeoka & kamitsuru’s version of it as well!! i don’t think hikaru & jonathan have exactly as much chemistry as their 6th cast counterparts did, but their individual performances as kaidoh & momo are incomparable. kaidoh’s solo changed a little, with similar lyrics but a different rhythm & melody. i think they’re really adapting their musicals to let hikaru’s singing skills shine, which, god bless them. yusaku is an ADORABLE jackal, and his marui feels(tm) are exactly what i like to see. as for taka, i think he impressed everyone, marui fans or not. his performance is just SO much FUN!! he has amazing stage presence! marui has a solo song now... with backup vocals by jackal... i do wish it were a legit duet, but the song is just AMAZING, so i can live with it. take~ it~ easy~ take it take it easy~

D1: golden pair VS illusion pair! i was so happy to finally see sei-chan and yu play doubles together! they were so cute. yu is an angel. i really loved his performance throughout this whole show... and i can tell sei-chan is getting better by the minute! it’ll be fun to see him play singles soon. but i especially LOOOVED yuuta and dai’s performance. they are so fun to watch together, and amazing performers and singers. i’d normally be disappointed that they changed the petenshi song, as iconic as it was, but the new one is SO. MUCH. FUN!! they perform so many magic tricks/illusions during the song, and there’s some i still haven’t deciphered. it’ll probably look even cooler and even more convincing on DVD! and... ahem. excuse me for a second. *puts on I♥YAGYUU headband & rips off jacket to reveal I♥YUUTA shirt*. Yuuta Is. My Dream Yagyuu. ok that’s it thanks

S3: inui VS yanagi. data pair’s match was possibly my favorite part of the show. isawa really impressed me considering he was the member i was the most wary about when the cast was first announced... but he looks WONDERFUL in his yanagi costume and makeup, and his singing is beautiful. but sho... sho. oh man. i LOVE this guy. since we didn’t get to see much of him in VS rokkaku, i was really looking forward to seeing what he was capable of. and he certainly did not disappoint. i’m a very big fan of inui actors and inui himself has always been one of my top 3 favorite characters, so i always expect a lot. and sho did everything right. he is exactly what i want to see in an inui. i’ll be straight up: sho’s inui is my favorite inui. i feel like he combines every previous inui’s best traits: inagaki’s appearance, arai’s smile, teruma’s singing voice, ryosei’s charisma, basshi’s weird, arayan’s extra. and their cumulative love for kaidoh, tezuka, momo and ryoma. and cumulative sexy--*i am suddenly run over and cannot write anymore*

but seriously! sho has 2.5 solo songs during this match, and he performs all of them so well. his singing voice is LOVELY, and i feel like he is constantly improving. i also think he’s the best dancer in seigaku after yuu, which should make no sense considering his size? he emotes and acts so well, and i think he really understands the balance of calculating weirdo creep and impossibly kind, loving and emotionally perceptive goof that inui is made of.

also, as an OT4 shipper, i must mention that ryoma gets really intense cheering during this match, yelling DO YOUR BEST INUI SENPAI!!, that momo has the cutest reaction and hugest smile, legit fangirling, when a tired inui leans on his shoulder after the match, and...!! tenimyu finally included this scene from the anime, where kaidoh hands inui a towel and they smile at each other huhuhu... well, sho’s hand didn’t touch hikaru’s like how they do in the anime, but. close enough, right!!

S2: fuji VS kirihara!! fuuma was sooo pretty and threatening and soft-looking but scary-acting... i really enjoyed his solo. you have to give it to fuuma for being such a good actor and by that i mean convincing us that fuji is still in love with tezuka even if fuuma seems to be unable to stand yuuya LOL... the part where fuji loses his vision is also so much more convincing and heart tugging than it has ever been before. as mentioned earlier, ryu’s kirihara is a gem. i’m looking forward to seeing his performance at senshuraku on the DVD, since i could feel him improving with each show! at first, i wanted him to be a bit crazier/shriek more ((since that’s my favorite thing about anime kirihara & motohisa’s kirihara, beautiful crazy shrieking child)), but by the last show i saw, he had it down so well.

i couldn’t believe they hadn’t changed mou mayoi wa nai, sanayuki’s duet... i’m always conflicted between laughing or crying when it comes on... i was expecting an update with a modern tune with more romantic lyrics, but by the end, i learned to love it... because of toshiki and shogo’s singing, of course. they’re both amazingly talented. and look amazing together. and sound amazing. and have great chemistry. however, i think shogo was having a hard time adjusting to the deeper voice he’s been using as sanada, because he sounded very rough and sore by the 23rd? which led to toshiki singing even more powerfully during their duet on that day... it was wonderful.

S1: ryoma VS sanada! nichika has been growing, both physically and has a performer, so fast. he was a lot of fun to watch during this match... the best moment is when he does this 360 spin and his sweat forms a misty halo around him. that sounds very bad when written down doesn’t it. anyways. shogo is so intimidating and scary and manly as sanada!! it really surprised me since he’s so beautiful and cute out of costume!! i really love him. well, i love both actors, i love both characters, and i ship this pair, but god, isn’t this match always a little too long, be it manga, anime or musical? i found myself watching the benches a bit too often XD. until samurai comes on, of course! it was impossibly difficult to stay still each time it came on!! i had to sing & dance to it at the karaoke to get my love for this song out of my system between the shows i saw.

3rd season has been amazing from the beginning, and VS rikkai was no exception. i have nothing but positive thoughts, and am proud of every single actor. (but especially toshiki and sho, who’re my personal MVPs of the show. also hikaru’s legs)

THE ENCORE.

the encore is always SO much fun! I’m actually rather happy that they changed it to in my heart in time for me to go see tenimyu, because i can’t even do the bunbun moves properly in my living room... i don’t remember all the calls we got during the shows i went to, aside from yuuta’s laserbeam and shogo’s tarundoru. i was definitely shouting way too loudly during them... i was just so happy...

15th: i got WAAAY too lucky. during my first first FIRST ever show, i got a high touch from sho. I’ve always liked him, but the way his smile got so much wider, and his handsome face, and his kind eyes... i’m totally gone now... bye... that was honest to god my favorite and most heartfelt interaction with any actor after ikkei-san, sorry to all the other inuis and tezukas who actually held my hands and talked to me

right after sho high touched us, chiba ran by and had to jump to reach our hands and high touch us! It was so cute!! also yuuya ran by and i physically reeled away in fear

19th: when i was on the balcony for once, and had an alley seat, yuuta was slowly going thru the alley and looking, waving and thanking each of us, one by one. It was so sweet and so gentlemanly. he’s my favorite member of rikkai and i’m a huge fan of yagyuu, so i was super excited and happy. I think i yelled I LOVE YOU in my daze... i probably need to be banned from tenimyu

23rd: i got ANOTHER!! high touch from sho!! I was so happy!! and then!! yuuya too!! I saw this show with a friend who’s a big fan of tezuka, so we were both so excited ;_;

funnily enough, i didn’t get any high touches or interactions when i was in the 5th row, nor in the alley seat of the 3rd row... XD

THE AUDIENCE.

one particular aspect i didn’t expect to be so weirdly excited/traumatized about was the graduates sitting in the audience to watch the show. as we all know thanks to blog posts and selfies, there are past cast members who go see the tenimyu performances in tokyo almost every day. what i didn’t expect was to be so cursedly lucky about who would show up on the days i went...

15th: satsuki, akki, kohei, ogaken & kaminaga attended the matinée show. i wish i had noticed ogaken & kaminaga earlier since i’m a fan, but i couldn’t see them too well from my seat! but i did see satsuki and akki being SUPER into in my heart and being very dedicated to doing all the moves. so cute!

19th: hideya, ryosei, miura, ikumin & mikata attended this show. now. as you may or may not know. hideya is my #1 favorite actor ever. and i was very, very sad that i wouldn’t have any chance to see him during this trip. Well. imagine my reaction when he shows up on the one and only day where my seat was in balcony 1 rather than arena, in the row of seats right next to the one where the graduates always sit. actually i didn’t really have any visible reaction bcuz i was trying very hard to respect their privacy and not stare too much bUT!!! AH!! seeing ryosei again 3 days after meeting him was kinda funny. oh, miura is sooo cute and sooo pretty. he was sitting next to the other guest seats and was super friendly and chatty with those family members. at some point he leaned over the railing and looked so cute and childish… he also leaned over ikumin to whisper in ryosei’s ear which i thought was hilarious. poor ikumin. so unloved. but the funniest was how mikata kept talking and no one reacted or replied to him... hideya and ryosei were talking together pretty much the whole time, which made me VERY happy since i’m such a fan of the both of them, and also because inutezu. I also loved how they got the biggest reaction from the audience XD everyone is always polite and respectful and doesn’t bother the guests, but you could see everyone in the arena turning around to look at them and people whispering OMG HIDEYA OMG MIURA all around me wwww

20th: aibacchi attended this show! i didn’t know it was him until the blog posted pictures of him because he was wearing a face mask, hat and very plain clothes. i just figured it was a 1st season dude since even famous 2nd & 3rd actors rarely bother hiding their faces.

23rd: sana and masa attended this show!! oh my god. i was in the last row of the arena so they were right behind me. I was feeling very conflicted about how i had just paid 130$ to see sana from the 21st row of a theater, only for him to sit right behind me... masa & him NEVER stopped talking, it was kinda funny. classic sana becoming buds with everyone because he has no notion of respect or seniority. i actually thought masa was a 3rd season guy i wasn’t recognizing due to how friendly they were with each other!!!!! but now that i think about it, they were probably just gushing about how much they love yagyuu. me too, guys. during the encore, sana’s face was like (THIS) the entire time. so cute. yuuya went up to the two of them to bow & say thank you.

MISC.

just walking around TDC was so... emotional... walking around places i’ve seen in backstage videos for years... i felt silly because all my friends have been tenimyu veterans for years while i was freaking out so badly over everything that i couldn’t even finish my bowl of ramen okay actually i’ll blame that one on sho’s high touch a few minutes before

it was also really fun to go to all the shows with friends. back home, i only have one tenimyu buddy, and i feel like in general, a lot of fans are more fixated on 1st and/or 2nd season, so being able to talk about the actors and the shows with people who love tenimyu 3rd just as much as i do was so much fun!! thank you for the emotional support, hot gossip, gifts, restaurant visits & good times sam, emma, josie, tina, jillian, vivi & keiko 😭💕

CONCLUSION.

i’ll keep it simple. seeing VS rikkai 5 times wasn’t enough, and i’m already dying to see it again. oh, and i bought my plane tickets to go see VS higa in february already. so, yes, i guess that i did enjoy seeing tenimyu in person. ((it was the most wonderful experience of my entire life, even as an avid theater & concert goer. nothing could ever quite compare.))
