Put your Fave playlist on shuffle and post the first five songs that come up!
I was tagged by @m34gs in this post HERE. Thanks for the tag, friend! Like you, I'm making this a separate post just so things don't get too long.
In truth, I don't really have "playlists". It's usually all just thrown into a single playlist that's either My Library or Favourites. So, we're just going to go with my random songs. Also, I'm using my iTunes for this and not Spotify. Besides a few songs missing between them, the playlists are identical.
Also, all my songs ended up being connected to anime somehow. I'm sorry, but that's just how things work with me.
Butterfly 09 - United Forces Airplay Edit by Smile.Dk
Wow, we're starting with a nostalgic song for this list. If you grew up loving anime in the late 90s or early 2000s you could not escape this song. I believe most people were introduce to this song through DDR, but for me it was through AMV edits. I think the first time I heard this song was to a Rurouni Kenshin AMV. That or Sukisho, which according to the rating, at the time I watched it I was too young. In my defense, it's suggestive at best.
Anyways, the reason I have this song on my playlist still is because I like the beat and energy to the song. The lyrics make little sense, but I still adore this song. I don't listen to it often. In fact, I can't remember the last time I listened to it, but every time I do I'm transported back to my childhood days.
Shogeki by Yuko Ando
Going from a nostalgic song to a recent song, Shogeki is the first ending to the Final Season of Attack on Titan. This song is hauntingly beautiful with lyrics that tug at my heart. Even if you're not an Attack on Titan fan, this song is beautiful and tragic at the same time. I highly recommend giving it a listen.
Muspell Theme from Fire Emblem Heroes
This song is mostly instrumental except for the deep masculine voices chanting + the soprano choir nearer to the end. Definitely gives an ominous tone, indicating threat is approaching. Which makes sense as this song is for the Book 2 villains in FEH. Fire Emblem OST songs are always a great time, so even if you think instrumental isn't your thing, check it out.
SKETCH - Kiro Akiyama
Another anime ending song appears on this list! For the one it's the first ending to Season 6 of BNHA (My Hero Academia). I cannot tell you how much I love this song. The lyrics perfectly fits Izuku's character and many themes in the anime. This is also the ending where they changed parts of the anime to reflect the story moments of the episode.
Again, even if you're not an anime fan, this song is fantastic. The regret of the narrator as the lyrics talk about longing to reconnect, regret missing one another, and the desire to correct miscommunications are bittersweet but hopeful to me.
Dearly Beloved - a cover by Amalee but original by Yoko Shimomura
We end our list with another song from a game OST. This version I'm calling out is a cover by Amalee, where there are lyrics. However, the original is the instrumental song that plays in the menu for all Kingdom Hearts games. Amalee's version with the lyrics weaves a tale of love and hope despite distance from each other, fitting perfectly with the themes presents in Kingdom Hearts. So, even if this isn't the original version, give it a listen. Give the original a listen too! It's an amazing song that makes me want to cry every time I listen.
I tag: @a-little-harmed-shinra @someobscurereference @shreedle and anyone else who wants to do this!

What does Sothis's dragon form look like?
Title speaks for itself. I'm here to speculate what Sothis's dragon form looks like.
These posts come from my Reddit account! I'm reposting them here. However, I'm also editing these posts with newer information. You can consider these to be the "final" versions.
Let's unpack!
Surely you can't be Sirius
In a post on reddit, I talked about how Sothis could be connected to the wolf-beasts that guard the Blue Sea Star. Why?
Sothis is the Greek version of the Egyptian goddess Sopdet, the personification of the star Sirius.
What's so special about Sirius? The Blue Sea Star is likely meant to be the star Sirius. Sothis's special in FEH is called Sirius. Seiros is an alternate name for Sirius. Rhea's theme is called Gazing at Sirius. It could not be more obvious.
There is one small issue with this: Edelgard's note in the advice box. She says that it's been calculated that the light of the Blue Sea Star would take million of years to reach the planet. MILLIONS. Sirius is like 9 light-years away from Earth. Sure, Fodlan could just be on an entirely different planet, but that's boring. Sirius isn't going to be the brightest star in the night sky on just any random planet. Not that it really matters if Fodlan is on a different planet.
So, I did a little bit of digging, and Edelgard doesn't say millions of years in the Japanese version. Instead, she says it takes the light tens of thousands of years to reach the planet. Looks like it's just a translation issue.. Moving on.
What's so special about Sirius? It's known as the dog star. A good boy, if you will. Now here is where it gets interesting. Aelfric says that the Ashen Wolves got their name from the beasts who guard the Blue Sea Star. Rhea named the house herself. This could just be Rhea making up some random bullshit, but I'm gonna take the plunge and say that she's speaking some kind of truth here.
Sothis is Sopdet, the personification of Sirius, the dog star. The Ashen Wolves get their name from the beasts who guard Sirius. Beasts that look like wolves. Dog Star. Sopdet. Sothis. You get it. Sothis is connected to these beasts in some way. She could be one of them, or she created them and then went off on a little adventure.
All of this leads me to believe that Sothis's dragon form has canine features. If you're still not convinced that Sothis is a doggo, then take a look at this:
Tumblr media
They're the same picture
Going back to the OST for a moment. There is a track called Scales of the Goddess. SCALES! Alright alright. We're getting there. Sothis's dragon form also has scales. We've got more of an image here. The Goddess's true form has canine features and scales.
...Would her transforming in her amnesiac state result in a puppy dragon?
Oh my god. We need more information!
Your momma so fat, she created Fodlan just to sit on it.
So, how big is her dragon form? It can be anything ranging from the size of the Immaculate One:
Tumblr media
Exhibit A: Immaculate One concept art
To the size of a meteor:
Tumblr media
Oh man, that star is getting real close
Tumblr media
Exhibit B: Opening cutscene flashes (Seasons of Warfare Collectors Edition)
To the size of the fucking planet:
Tumblr media
Exhibit C: Ashen Wolves banner
So... pick one of three! Option B is the most obvious one. She's called the "Fell Star" by the Agarthans. That could mean that she's evil as in the "Fell Dragon", but it could also mean that Sothis came to Fodlan as a falling star (a fucking meteor).
Still, a planet-sized wolf-dragon sure is an image. It would put Grima to shame and adds a whole 'nother meaning to Sothis saying she cannot reveal her true form in Askr.
But what else do the Agarthans say about Sothis? Well...
DAMN, that's an ugly sonofabitch!
You might have read the book in the Shadow Library called "Romance of the World's Perdition". If you haven't, don't worry. I've got this post that translates it from Japanese: https://www.reddit.com/r/FireEmblemThreeHouses/comments/hd82ec/jpen_translation_comparison_of_the_abyss_shadow/
Here is what it says:
In the land of Thinis, where the old god(s) was/were supposed to have lived, at last the one who is not god awakens. The grotesque monstrosity resurrects to sink the world to watery depths.
The book is presumably from an Agarthan's perspective. It says that the False God is a grotesque monstrosity. Are they talking about Sothis's human form? Hell no! Have you SEEN mural Sothis? Anyone who calls her a grotesque monstrosity is in denial. 99% chance they're talking about Sothis's dragon form. Of course, you can't ignore the fact that the Agarthans are EXTREMELY biased.
One more thing to add to this. Remember how Rhea goes absolutely batshit in the ending of Silver Snow for some unknown reason? Yeah. Her dragon form is burning from the inside out and she's covered in vines. It's fucking horrifying and disgusting. But what does the game say?
Tumblr media
"This child of the goddess, revealed in her truest form, possesses power beyond humanity's understanding."
That is Rhea's truest form.
Another piece to the puzzle! Sothis's dragon form has canine features, scales, is most likely the size of a meteor, and is grotesque to (some) onlookers.
What else?
Exteeeeeeeeeend
We've all seen the Sword of the Creator. It's made out of Sothis's bones and looks like a spine, but some speculate it's made out of the tail.
It can also extend... I guess that means Sothis can just stretch out parts of her body REALLY far? Huh, no wonder the Agarthans call her an abomination.
There is also the possibility of her being an Eastern Dragon! They do have long noodle-bodies. Personally, I think she's some weird eldritch being, but you can always come up with your own theories!
I can paint with all the colors of your wardrobe
COLORS ("COLOURS" if you prefer it that way)! What about the look?
This is where it becomes 100% speculation. There is no information here. None. She can have natural colors like her children (brown/yellow, white, grey), or look like she fell into a bucket of paint.
Obviously, I'm picking the bucket of paint option. The Immaculate One is white, right? Her Japanese name is "The White One". Is there white in Rhea's design? Yes! She ALWAYS wears white. So, the outfit might give a hint to the dragon's colors? Quick! What is Sothis's color scheme?
Purple/dark blue, black, pink, white, and gold. There is also green, but we're ignoring that because none of the Nabateans have any green in their dragon forms. All the green goes straight into their veins when they transform.
So, Sothis's dragon form has a mix of purple/dark blue, black, pink, white, and gold. I guess that makes sense? Sirius is sometimes called a rainbow star because of how it shines with different colors. All of the colors I just mentioned are colors that have been observed in Sirius.
Guess we cracked the code.
TLDR: Sothis's dragon form is wAIT
WAIT
HOLD ON, I JUST FOUND SOMETHING Y'ALL. SOTHIS'S TRUE FORM HAS CONCEPT ART! AND THEY HID IT FROM US.
I'm gonna find it. I'm gonna find it and...
Tumblr media
Oh dear god

Amazing how, despite the absence of Peacekeepers in our face right this second, this is nonetheless the worst its ever been.
Tumblr media
I'm not saying Makoto fucked us all. ...but I'm not not saying that. If things continue down this path, Makoto will have killed Huesca and destroyed the Nocturnal Detective Agency, something Yomi's been trying and failing to do for weeks, all in one fell swoop. Yomi will get to ride the high of killing us all and Makoto gets to go home secure in the knowledge that he made this checkmate happen.
Assuming this is the outcome that he intended to happen, of course. But I've watched Makoto work Yomi over. Man's playing 4-D chess while we're all playing checkers. It is highly possible that he meant all of this to happen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this is our motive. To escape the base, we have to find Fink and prove his existence to Yomi - Which will likely involve some retaliatory soul-reaping to avenge Yakou.
Tumblr media
Probably not. Like I said earlier, if all of these security measures are stopping us from leaving then they may be stopping Fink from leaving too. It's possible he's still in the building. If he didn't get out before they turned off the elevator, he may even still be on this floor.
Tumblr media
Right now, Yomi's licking his wounds and figuring out what to do with us. We have breathing room. This is the perfect time to act.
Tumblr media
Desuhiko's not wrong and this is a common complaint I have with Yuma's behavior. But it's better than sitting around with our thumbs up our asses, wondering how long until Yakou draws his final breath.
Tumblr media
If Halara's with us then we must be on the right path! Let's do this!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Astral projection. Which means if we hold his hand, we can astral project too.
Tumblr media
Hold up, condition? You gonna tell me what that means, big guy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will tear you in half little man.
I mean, I won't. But if you swing on Vivia, I will offer Halara a fiver to snap you in two. I don't even care that Vivia could outfight you in his sleep. They can both kick your ass together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's astral projection. I knew it. This spiritual ability is probably also why he can see Shinigami. He has one foot in the plane that she exists on.
This is going to be fun. I can't wait to Coalesce with it! Vivia, you and I are going to be the best of partners.
Tumblr media
CHOKE ON YOUR TONGUE. I wanna be a gho~ost! T_T
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is looking right at Shinigami as he says this. He knows exactly what's going to happen if he helps us.
Tumblr media
No, we won't. Yomi's a fascist prick. Before Halara showed up, he was kicking Yakou's body to help him die faster. We're supposed to trust that guy with Yakou's medical care?
Tumblr media
You and me both, my guy. I feel you. I'd love to live in that world too. But it isn't what we have. It's important to always keep moving forward, to keep striving to build a better world to live in. But to always keep one eye on the world that presently exists.
I wish I could believe that Yomi is a good-hearted well-meaning guy who will engage with us in good faith and offer Yakou the care that he deserves. I wish I could have faith that our situation is such.
But I don't. His behavior has given me zero confidence in his willingness or ability to treat us fairly.
Tumblr media
Too harsh, Halara. While I agree that Vivia should help me commit long-range remote-murder, I can't fault him for his reluctance to do so. He's got a good heart.
Tumblr media
Yes to that first one; He does seem violently concerned about the presence of the Book of Death among us, and its involvement in our activities. Rightly so. It's killing people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vivia once again cutting to the thematic heart of these investigations. Through the Mystery Labyrinth, the price we pay for the answers we find far outweighs the value of those answers. We trade lives in exchange for secrets that weren't worth those lives.
Should he truly help us do it? Take the blood upon his hands, the same as ours? Desuhiko and Halara can't fathom what he's talking about because they don't know. They don't understand what's at stake here. But Vivia knows. He sees the monster that lurks over Yuma's shoulder and feeds on souls unjustly condemned.
Tumblr media
I hope he sticks to his guns. I know he won't, 'cause we have a case to crack and game mechanics won't let us just call it here. But this is a strong moment for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, we're going to trick him. Wow. That's dangerous. We don't even know if we'll be able to get our soul back in its body without his help.
Tumblr media
Never mind, he knew exactly what we were on about.
Tumblr media
Yeah, he rolled over fast. "I won't do the thing because I'm morally opposed to it. I have no qualms with helping you do the thing, though. It's not the doing of the thing that I'm against; I just don't want to do it myself."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPOOKY GHOST. This is awesome. I'm going to investigate so many things and they won't be able to stop me. And maybe finally take my chance to rub my butt on Yomi's desk like I promised.
Gotta keep my word, y'know. It's called integrity.

So I have this long-standing tradition where, after I finish a video game, I sit down and listen to the soundtrack outside of the game's context.
It serves as a sort of "conclusion" to the experience and simultaneously helps me evaluate the game as a whole a little better... After all the soundtrack is often what sticks with us long after we're done actively playing a game. It preserves the memories we've made along the way.
That means: I have finally found the FF Sixteen OST online in its entirety and could finally follow through with this tradition. (Debatable how much it applies considering I didn't actually play the game myself, but it felt necessary.)
The final missing piece to the pissbaby gamer rage essay. Significantly less raging this time, though.
It's okay. I don't love it. There's worse.
I had very unfavourable opinions of the OST during the game itself which might have been due to the overall pacing issues, where large stretches were filled with the same hub music and then everything bombastic all happened at once and either side of the coin was exhausting in its own way.
I still can't believe there are over 200 songs in the OST when I could have sworn I heard like. Maybe 10 or so during gameplay. A lot of it is very same-y. A large part of the OST can be split into "loud choir explosion" or "sad piano". There isn't a whole lot in between. Good for people who like it, not so much for me.
Which means my biggest issue is the very subjective "I just don't like the style". It's not a bad soundtrack, but I'm just really not a fan of the direction the music took. The battle themes are over the top (fair for the equally over the top DBZ kaijū battles, annoying with 3 wolves that show up on the side of the road). The calmer songs don't really hit right for me. No chord progressions or melodies that hook me. Unfortunate. I did however appreciate the electronic influences in the music when the alien baddies were on screen. (in this fantasy game that is based on medieval reality and that's why people of colour cant exi-)
I have also since learned that there isn't one acoustic guitar song that plays for 20 hours straight. There are like 6 or so that all sound the same. I don't know if that makes it better or worse. I hate them all. (I don't hate acoustic guitars. It's these songs in particular.)
That said - I was curious about which ones are people's favourite tracks of the OST and went checking those out in particular. Consistently in people's tops was Ascension and I can't deny that one's been plagueing (semi-endearing) my memory a bunch the past days. Probably the theme that stuck out the most to me while watching the game. If not the entire theme, then at the very least That Violin Part. If you know, you know.
You know what. If you don't know, here:
(footage stolen from here)
Like damn. Good rhythm going on there with the off beats. Also fits the relevant character nicely in terms of mood. And I like that the battle phase before this one has a more low-key version of this song playing before it goes into this full ham version.
I just kinda wish more of the battle music had been a bit more... this. A bit more... subtle. Like yes it slaps hard but this song legitimately feels calm in comparison to the other battle tracks. This drives me nuts.
There's one other song I keep getting stuck in my head which is one that plays fairly close to the end (in the final... "dungeon" (cutscene? sequence? QTE battle?)). I figured out today that I don't actually really enjoy listening to the song on its own but I like it in-game in combination with the voice perfomance. There's an interesting dissonance in it that blends super nicely with the voice acting. (I'm being held hostage by the game's voice acting. It's unfortunately way too good. Voice actors are once again holding too much power over me.)
Other than that... I have one final criticism. The prelude theme. We must. Leave it. Alone. Enough. It's fine playing once as a gimmick somewhere in the game (I do genuinely like the menu (pause screen?) arrangement) but having it woven into what seems like every 5th song feels like someone is smacking a sign into your face that screams "YOU ARE PLAYING A FINAL FANTASY GAME." Seriously it's unbearable. (Also I did take notice of the FF1 overworld theme being rearranged into a battle theme for the final segment of the game. I don't know why, but fine. Not complaining about that one.)
Overall it's a solid "mh" from me. Not the worst OST we've had in the series (thirteen trilogy exis-COUGHAGFNJKN) but definitely on the lower end for me. Not of bad quality, but not my cup of tea at all. Dark Souls III OST executed the epic orchestra choirs better somehow. More interesting composition. Spaced out better throughout the game. Idk.
Welp. Back to getting haunted by voices and violins now o/

Previously in Gamindustri...
The four nations were in harmony. Leanbox, Lowee, Lastation and Planeptune were finalizing the preparations for two sets of interdimensional gateways; one linking their Gamindustri to another, and a railroad network connecting them to the multiversal city of Lawain City.
"Preparations are nearly complete. Soon, we shall be in more touch with our allies than ever."
Tumblr media
"I still can't believe you went out of your way to settle the Lawain City deal without us, Green Heart."
Tumblr media
"Regardless of how I approached what would be best for Gamindustri, let us rejoice in that our friendships will only continue to grow stronger with those whom we call allies, comrades, and companions."
Tumblr media
"Then it would be an absolute shame if I were to rain on your parade."
Came a voice from nowhere as all four CPU's immediately raised their guards in suspicion.
"Oh of course someone has to come disrupt the peace. Give us a fucking break."
Tumblr media
"Hmph. Mortals like you wouldn't dare to understand the complexity of your ignorant existences."
"Mortals? We're hardly considered mortals. How about you come and show yourself?"
Tumblr media
"As you wish."
Without any hesitation at all, the unknown voice charged in and kicked Green Heart straight in the torso, sending her flying into a nearby mountain. The three other CPU's watched in horror at just how easily she was handled, prompting them to get serious. All three of them glowed vibrantly as they changed into their Next Forms:
"Who the hell are you? Surely you know who you're up against?"
Tumblr media
"We are Gamindustri's Champions, their Guardians, their Goddesses, their Console Patron Units. And we will not rest until we are at peace."
Tumblr media
"So how about we just cut to the chase, and get on with the ass kicking we're going to provide you."
Tumblr media
"Hmph. Spoken like a pack of fools ready to die. Come at me, 'Goddesses.' Yours shall be amongst the many to come for the Zero Mortal Plan."
Tumblr media
BGM: Dragon Ball Super - A Dangerous New Enemy
Next Black charged forward with fury incarnate whilst Next Purple supported from behind with her large blade. Goku Black smirked before crossing his arms to block the strike, following it up with a quick Ki blast to knock her back. Next Purple snuck up to get a strike in on the target, only for him to grab her leg.
"What the---"
Tumblr media
"Out of my way. You should learn when to quit."
Black then kicked her up, and created a blade of purple energy across his hand, slicing at her with quick, precise strikes, before grabbing her leg again and kicking her in the torso to send her flying to the ground.
Next White took an opportunity and rushed forward with her battle axe in tow, aiming for a heavy strike to the center of mass. Unfortunately for her, Black anticipated such a move and planted two fingers onto his forehead, before vanishing right as she was about to strike!
"What the fuck?!"
Tumblr media
"Worthless."
Without any warning, Black reappeared behind Next White and blasted her with a moderately sized explosion of Ki from his hands, sending her into a nearby mountain peak. Green Heart rushed up after her initial knockback, and attempted to stab Black in the core with her spear. Goku Black retaliated with a swift strike to her torso, prompting a groan which was followed by another kick to send her flying.
The four CPU's regrouped, trying to figure out a battle plan.
BGM: Megadimension Neptunia VII OST - Emergency
"What are we to do? He's countering us as if we were amateurs."
Tumblr media
"I don't know. But we need to act fast. If we leave him unattended for long, who knows what damage he can cause to Gamindustri."
Tumblr media
"Hmph. Let's see about that."
Tumblr media
Goku Black then charged up an energy beam between his palms, aiming to create a Black Kamehameha, and where he aimed... was Leanbox!
"What are you...!"
"Kamehameha!"
He released the beam, targeting the core of the island nation, and within moments, the beam collided and caused an explosion rivalling that of the size of the island itself; prompting it to be overcame by the water surrounding it. And in that moment...
BGM: Megadimension Neptunia VII OST - Insecure Feeling.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Tumblr media
"Green Heart!" "Green Heart!" "Green Heart!"
Green Heart immediately clutched her core and the entirety of her body, screaming out in pain and despair. Goku Black watched with a sadistic smirk as the Green Goddess of Leanbox was fighting a battle inside herself.
"My energy... is leaving... me! A-AAAAAHHHHHHH!"
"Just hold on, damn it!"
Tumblr media
"My people... my Share Energy... without it... I... I... I... Ooohhhh..."
And in that moment, Green Heart fell to the ground with a loud crash...
Tumblr media
"Hmph. So your power revolves around the faith of the people you protect. How pitiful, that mortals rely on each other for power. How barbaric."
Tumblr media
"Barbaric... I'LL SHOW YOU BARBARIC!!"
Tumblr media
"White Heart, wait!"
"Too late."
"Not if I have anything to say about it!"
Tumblr media
Adult Neptune suddenly came into the picture out of nowhere, gathering the body of Green Heart, as well as retreating the others around her.
"What is this?"
"It's called, saving my friends, buster. Toodles!"
Adult Neptune created a portal behind her and grabbed the CPU's, throwing them in behind her before she took one last look at Goku Black.
"Laters!"
Goku Black aimed his palm and fired a small blast of Ki towards the portal, but was too slow as Adult Neptune had already jumped through and closed it behind her.
"Urgh!"
Tumblr media
"Fine. I'll just ensure they don't have anywhere they can run to. This realm will be eradicated by the order of the Zero Mortal Plan. Those CPU's are something else. I must learn more about them."
[END]

8, 12, 14 for anthea and hythlodaeus!!
Okay technically they never have a wedding because there wasn't much of a need but that doesn't matter because I have thought of it so many times over! I love imagining their potential wedding.....would love to gpose it one day.....anyway! please note there are some visual spoilers with the videos i linked for EW
8. Was there any drama whatsoever regarding the guest list?
Yes and no. See they were perfectly fine inviting the core group of people and making it small, others (not naming names but their starts with a D) made it known around people that felt they were entitled to witness it (mostly researchers and those that worked with convocation members and members of the convocation themselves). Why? No one knows all the reasons but a few wanted to see if Emet-Selch was going to be a grump through it all still, which I can't blame them.
12. Do either of them play music while walking down the aisle (if they do at all)? If yes, show us their song.
Okay now I need you to know I did not pick the names of the songs you can take that up with SE. But there are two songs that would play, one as Anthea is walking down the aisle and one as the couple leave the ceremony or even play softly in the background while they read out their vows and we're all crying in the audience. These two songs are also what start and end their playlist so if you need any further proof of them being perfect for them its right there!
The song that would play as Thea walked down the aisle is the night time theme when in elpis and it has always been such a Thea song since I first heard it after they became an idea. Its got a melancholy feel but bits of light throughout and it just is that perfect kind of tempo to walk down an aisle for.
youtube
Now the song that would play either during the ceremony/reading vows or as they left is one that's called Heartbloom and yes its another name for the elpis flower but like its just such a nice sending off song or something to go in the background of them claiming their love to all their friends and family. like it is just so! !!!
(its not actually an hour long i just want you all to witness the adorable bird child)
14. Do they follow any familiar, cultural, and/or religious traditions at any point of the wedding?
As far as I'm aware there isn't anything cultural for the Ancient society when it comes to weddings and the like. I do believe they (the couple) would do speeches of those closest to them, trust me you have never seen Emet get close to getting choked up than during that speech. And for sure those two would do the cake cutting with the stuffing cake of the other's face and making a small game of it! I also would honestly love to see them do the traditional garter toss, yes the one where no hands are used to remove it. Frankly my fantasy wedding for them so they do and its fun and its purposely tossed to land in Emet's hand because of Iris or Laha catches it and there's a sigh because he's not going to tempt marriage number 2. But yeah there isn't much and any traditions would be the ones we have here with the rule being "If its fun its gonna be done."

No spoilers review of Rings of Power's first 2 episodes
TL;DR : It's great so far overall. Pirate it if you will, but haters beat the hate drum for nothing, in regards to quality.
The detailed version:
I'd like to open by saying I've read the trilogy multiple times, and the hobbit too, but never finished the Silmarillion. I've seen the OG films a million times, and their extended bonuses. I've seen the Hobbit films once or twice (worked in a cinema in NZ at the time the second came out…) but generally dislike them. I've never engaged with fandom much and basically know precious little of what's supposed to go down in the series.
The costumes are good. Some better than others.
The characters are all engaging. I've seen reviews that didn't care much for the harfoots, but I found them adorable and was often grinning during their scenes. There is definitely a sense of slow pace, with the characters building slowly and giving no indication of where the series might take them. I don't mind actually. I don't want tropes thrown in my face 2h in if there will be time to build.
The CGI is perfectly fine. Some scenes are more obvious than others, but I never really broke immersion except for a couple of scenes where I thought "maybe this would be nicer if practical". I have no idea what the workload was like for CG artists. It's usually shit, and I can't imagine Amazon treats their workers well in any domain. But they did a fantastic job. This is NOT TV show quality CG. This isn't Marvel or even Star Wars. This is very careful, very well executed, and I felt like watching two movies, not two tv episodes.
The plot... Is very slow to build. I honestly don't mind, because there's a satisfying sense of mystery throughout. I'm invested in all the storylines so far, to my own surprise.
The music is good too. It's not often noticeably "insane" the way it could be in the films, with tracks like for the Nazgul attack at Bree that just rips you from your seat. but overall I never thought the music was lacking, and noticed a few great tracks, notably at Khazad-Dûm! There are some very interesting sounds here and there and I think I'll get the OST as it's the sort of stuff I'll do some great writing to.
The one massive drawback so far for me is EDITING. OMG the editing. I don't know what they think they are doing, but I suspect they believe audiences need some sort of constant back and forth between PoVs to keep our interest? It this the TikTok editing trend? lol I joke but I genuinely wondered if this was edited for the tik tok crowd.
I'm really looking forward to the whole show being out and some pro editor reclipping this nicely. Some scenes, you will have very low interest walking, some talking... there's a mystery afoot... ok... And then oof, they discover something suspicious! A creepy tunnel! Character drops down into it and finally, we're talking. Something interesting. CUT!! And yeah, that happens a lot. They cut away from scenes that finally become good, or that have been built up to.
For me it did nothing but frustrate me.
Otherwise, nope, I like it. MILD SPOILERS FOR CHARACTERS:
I think Galadriel is great as a Trauma Queen. She has that one line, telling a human who's asking her to "let it lie" that "It would take longer than your lifetime even to speak the names of those they have taken from me. So letting it lie is not an option."
And I was both like "yasss queen!" but also "do elves have therapy? Because please, try and get some of that, you need it."
There was a lot of misogyny dressed in white knighting for "strong female characters" online in the last months, and I wish a happy fuck off to all people who will be hating on "strong female uwu Galadriel". I think there's some interesting acting choices going on, and the more we see of her, the more apparent it is that she GAINED her composure, but wasn't always so. I feel it's a great exchange for knowing she isn't at risk in this show. Instead of wondering if she'll "make it", I can wonder how she became the Galadriel I know. I hope they do her justice!
Elrond is fine! He's got depth!
There also was a fuss around the black elf, Arondir... AND YOU CAN ALL FUCK OFF TOO, HE'S MY PRECIOUS!!! Dude is a fucking gardener turned soldier in this war, he's relatable in his fears and bravery... And his name means "to round up" in French. He's sweet and I'm invested in his story. Some of the more chilling scenes came from his side actually.
And OMG DURIN!!! During and Elrond have this fantastic energy to them, I loved their scenes. And yeah, no beard on the Dwarven ladies. But I didn't mind. I found Disa super charming.
Also, a lot of scenes had fantastic fandom energy. I was watching, enjoying myself, and a little monkey at the back of my mind was like "ooohohohohohoho the tumblrinas are gonna be posting about this, I know it." But not in a bad way at all. More in like... there is space for tropes and retellings, and fix its and missing scenes... and I can already tell what's gonna be excellent at a glance. The visit at Khazad-Dûm is one of those settings imo.
Anyway, if the quality remains the same, it will be a fantastic show and a great addition to my personal canon of the Lord of the Rings. I think my final edition will be taken from fandom spaces when someone fixing the woeful editing... But I'm going to keep watching religiously until further notice!!

2023 Year in Review
what were some of your greatest accomplishments this year and out of all of them, which one was the most memorable one for you?
"I was very blessed this year, both in terms of Crystallis and my individual activities. Of course, there was the solo OST for Bullet Inquiry, which was even nominated for Best OST in MAMA. There's also the fact I became a fixed cast members of How Do You Play, a show I used to just watch as a trainee. Then there's our Japan debut. But I must admit the Crystallis Asia Tour is the most memorable one. This is because we got to meet foreign Alize, who have loved and supported us from a distance. It was nice to finally meet them and give them the same love they have given us. This also served as assurance that we're doing something right as a group in our second year."
what area(s) do you think you’ve personally improved on since the beginning of this year?
"I've been working on improving my dancing, singing, and performing skills, and I like to think they paid off because I got promoted from lead vocal to main vocal. I am grateful for the trust the company has in me as both a vocalist and a dancer, and I like to think it's a recognition of my improvement in singing. I also believe I have improved on my choreographing skills, too. As I appear on more variety shows, I also learn lots of variety skills that I can apply on future shows."
what are some of your personal goals for 2024?
"In 2024, I would like to contribute more on creative direction, such as concepts or styling for the team, or at least learn the basics of those tasks. It's not a secret that I am passionate about arts and fashion, and I would like to somewhat exercise my creative muscles while relieving that itch to create and produce something. In terms of performing, I would love to help choreograph or collaborate with a known choreographer or dancer for our next comeback. However, if that's not possible, a goal would be to secure more jobs in variety shows, and hopefully collaborate with brands, like design a capsule collection for them or anything of the sort."
in the group, what do you consider your biggest weakness and what can you do to improve on it?
"In terms of performing, it's no secret that rapping is my biggest weakness. I already hold two main positions, and I would rather not step on another member's toes. However, I won't mind working on it for the purpose of covers or part switching. I also know that I am weak in composing and lyric-writing, as I haven't developed an interest in those until recently. I should probably attend more workshops if I want to improve those skills."
aside from the role attached to you, what else do you think you contribute to the group?
"Plenty. Variety star, artist, fashionista, moodmaker, and emotional support. Kidding aside, I admit that I provide emotional support, especially to our leader, who is emotional support to everyone else. Back then with Danbi, now with Ichika, the leader needs to be strong for everyone else. Now, as the oldest member, I made it my job to be the one Ichika can lean on when she needs strength. But I also try being someone the younger members can approach, like an older sister, especially if it's something Ichika can't be bothered with. I also bring lots of laughter and chaos into the girls' lives, in a good way, I hope.
“as a group, what do you hope to accomplish in the next year or two?”
"There's a lot I hope Crystallis accomplishes as a group. First, I would love for the group to have our own variety show, or to appear on more of them as eight. After all, I feel like people have yet to get used to having Yuxi and Yujin as members. It would be nice to showcase our chemistry as a team. Also, once we have more songs in our discography, is it okay to ask for another tour? Meeting Alize was eye-opening, and I want to see them again when we can. Am I allowed to be greedy? I would like for Crystallis to have a hit song... The kind of song that gets banned from schools because everyone is singing it. And finally, I would like for Crystallis to get a Daesang. That's one of the highest honors I'm allowed to dream of, right? If I'll aim, I might as well aim as high as I can."

House Isekai: A Realm Reborn - Prologue (Rebuild)
Tumblr media
DING, DING DING DING, DONG!
[Life in Garreg Mach Monastery - Fire Emblem: Three Houses OST]
Sitri yawned as she heard the Monastery' bell echo throughout Garreg Mach. Rubbing her eyes, she slowly turned to the window that was letting sunlight in. It was in the sunlight Sitri saw a familiar figure crossing her arms and a scowl staring straight into her.
(Sothis) "I swear, the sleeping problems must run throughout the entire family."
(Sitri) yawn "Good morning, Sothis."
(Sothis) "It's noon, not morning!"
Sitri didn't respond as she lazily got off the bed and sat herself in a chair front of the mirror. She dug around her drawers trying to find a brush before she heard Sothis continue.
(Sothis) "I can't believe anyone could possibly sleep in this much!"
Sitri squinted at Sothis via the mirror as the brush straightened her dark green hair.
(Sitri) "I don't think you're in any position to lecture me about sleeping in."
(Sothis) "I stopped doing that years ago while you have yet to-!"
After a little bit, Sitri began to tune the noise out. She got into her uniform and checked the mirror. Her modified nun outfit didn't display any dirt as the capelet covered her left shoulder. The armored gauntlets were comfortably resting in her elbows and forearms. Sitri's eyes travelled down to her waist, where a small blue dagger sat on her belt.
Sitri finally tuned back into Sothis talking, who was still going off about her sleep schedule. Deciding this was too early in the afternoon to deal with, Sitri cut her off.
(Sitri) "Sothis. Enough. It's time we head out."
(Sothis) "Ugh, we are not done talking about this!"
Sitri chuckled, pushing open the door and her eyes taking a moment to adjust to how bright today was. She turned to her right to see a multitude of students hanging around the student dorms. Some of them waved to her, to which she politely waved back with a smile.
The students seemed to be enjoying their Sunday off, all spending their free time relaxing, studying, or training with friends. After all this time, the sight never failed to make Sitri relax. As she approached the faculty office, the sounds of chatter were drowned out by mechanical footsteps.
A steel golem that stood about three times the height of a normal man slowly walked past her, the clanking armor of a patrol of soldier right behind it drowning out the students. Sothis appeared behind Sitri, both of them staring at it as it slowly walked onto the bridge leading into the Cathedral.
(Sitri) "I still can't believe we're able to produce something like that in this day and age."
(Sothis) "Times are changing, I suppose."
Ever since the Church of Seiros was dissolved, Adrestia and Leicester led the charge of technological advancement. All 3 nations managed to recover technologies thought lost to time, though they were heavily assisted by the Zanado Tower.
Fodlan went from torches and horses to lights and metal carriages powered by electricity, fuel, and magic in two short years. Many of the ideas of their newfound technology was heavily borrowed, however. Sitri seemed to recall Dimitri and Edelgard mentioning it was the Persona Users and Class VII who had access to this advanced tech, giving them the foundation to build upon. The Zanado Tower allowed the scientists of Fodlan to access the memories of the offworlders to create their own versions of what they saw.
Chief among them being the Armiger Knight, a copy of Rean Schwarzer's Valimar. It was a golem made of metal, big enough for a person to get inside and take control of with a combination of magic and levers. It resembled a statue of a knight when standing still, the limbs and head being lanky enough to pass as humanoid. The Armiger had been around for almost a year now ever since the first few prototypes were deployed in Adrestia.
The three nations of Fodlan had a few regiments of them, but it was Garreg Mach that possessed the highest number of Armigers. Sitri had received training on how to pilot them, but never owned a private one, deciding it'd be better to give hers to the student body for training purposes.
It was just one of many things she could never get used to seeing, no matter how many times she saw it walk past her.
Beep beep!
Sitri's attention went to her belt as she pulled out a small flat crystal. Speaking of technology she hadn't gotten used to...
It began glowing with blue energy as a voice spoke out of it.
(Mercedes's Voice) "Headmaster? Everyone is here at the Audience Chamber as you requested."
(Sitri) "I'm on my way."
The crystal dimmed as Sitri put it back in her pocket. They were called Communicator Crystals, last she recalled. She felt the name was a bit too long, but couldn't be bothered to think of a shorter name. Not that she invented these things anyway. This was still in the prototype phase, so only a select few throughout Fodlan owned them. Garreg Mach Monastery again owned the highest amount of them.
Everyone in her staff owned one, including her. Deciding she had kept them waiting long enough, Sitri began to walk towards the faculty office, making sure to acknowledge and greet every student who bowed or said hello. Arriving upon the entrance to the offices, she gave a nod to the two guards in front, who wore the colors of Faerghus and Leicester.
Sitri made her way up the stairs towards the Audience Chamber, passing by several Adrestian soldiers who gave her a salute as she walked by. Sitri saluted them back as they stepped to the side to let her pass. She opened the door to see her staff waiting for her. Yuri gave a casual wave with one hand while Constance bowed. Mercedes smiled and gave a nod. Recette excitedly waved while Tear floated next to her shoulder, gracefully bowing.
(Mercedes) "Afternoon, Headmaster!"
(Yuri) "Little late, dont'cha think?"
(Tear) "Reminds me of a certain someone who's been sleeping in too much."
(Recette) "Hey, it's not like we were late or anything, Sitri was later than us!"
(Constance) "I am not sure that is something you should be banking on, Miss Lemongrass."
(Sitri) "Hah, sorry about that everyone."
Sothis simply sighed and floated over next to Tear. She could've chosen anywhere to float, but decided to hang around the few people that could actually see her. Mercedes, Yuri, and Constance, along with the rest of Fodlan, seemed to forget she ever existed alongside them.
Sitri walked to the front of the room and stood straight, nodding at everyone.
(Sitri) "Now, let us discuss our findings this week. Yuri, please start us off."
...
Kairos sat in front of his desk, slowly turning through the pages of a spellbook he had been studying for almost a week now. He could recite the movement needed to cast it entirely by memory, but he wanted to be safe than sorry. There was no telling if the upcoming practical exam Tuesday was going to throw a curveball. Before he could focus any more attention to the repetitious task, he heard a knock at the door.
Knock knock knock!
He grunted in slight annoyance, adjusting his glasses before responding.
(Kairos) "The door is open."
The door gently swung open as he heard the clanking of armor walk into the room. Although many soldiers were heavily armored in the Monastery, there was only one person in it who'd pay Kairos any mind.
(Stefan) "Still studying?"
(Kairos) "Hm."
(Stefan) "Come on, today's beautiful outside, you can't spend it all cooped up in here!"
(Kairos) "And have you already finished studying for the practical?"
(Stefan) "Er..."
Stefan laughed nervously, which told Kairos all he needed to know. Kairos spun around in his chair to face Stefan, giving an unamused look.
(Kairos) "Frankly, I'm more worried for your grades than mine. But, you do have a point. Some fresh air would be nice."
Stefan immediately perked up as he stepped to the side, arms gesturing out the door.
(Stefan) "Great! Let's grab something to bite real quick, I'm starving!"
Kairos chuckled and got up, the both of them walking towards the dining hall together. On the way, they saw an Armiger in the courtyard wobbling. Any student and guard steered clear of the field, letting it have the space to fall in case it did. A soldier bearing Adrestian colors and golden trims was the only one who stood close by, arms crossed and shaking his head.
(Soldier) "No, the lever on the top right, Mcgrath. If you don't turn that downwards, your Armiger will have its locking mechanism in place!"
(Stefan) "Oh man, that explains it. Elizabeth is in there."
(Kairos) "Psh, who cares about her? Just let her deal with it."
Kairos made a notion to keep moving, but Stefan couldn't help himself and walked towards the Armiger. The soldier immediately noted his presence.
(Soldier) "Ah, Stefan. I'd stand back if I were you. Mcgrath is struggling with this thing."
Elizabeth's voice rung out from the Armiger, obviously shaky.
(Elizabeth's Voice) "M-My apologies, sir! I am used to horseback riding not...whatever this is!"
(Stefan) "Elizabeth! Once you turn the locking mechanism off, use your magic to stabilize the Armiger, otherwise you'll fall!"
A brief moment of silence passed before the Armiger suddenly stood upright. No longer wobbling, it stood completely still.
(Elizabeth's voice) "I...I did it! Haha, YES!"
The soldier turned to Kairos and nodded.
(Soldier) "Appreciate the help, son. Alright Mcgrath, that's enough for today. You can dismount it."
The center of the Armiger swung open, Elizabeth slowly stepping outside and landing on the ground. Once she dusted off her pants, she bowed to the soldier.
(Elizabeth) "Thank you for the training as always, Engineer Adams!"
(Adams) "Thank your friend here, I only made sure you didn't fall flat on your ass. Now, as you were, I gotta take this thing back to the Cathedral."
Adams waved his hand nonchalantly and went into the cockpit and walking off with the Armiger. Elizabeth smiled at Stefan and did a more proper bow, fit for a noble.
(Elizabeth) "Then I am in your debt once again, Stefan!"
Stefan bashfully rubbed the back of his neck as he averted his gaze.
(Stefan) "I-It's nothing, really. I just spend a lot of time training in the Armigers, so I know what the feeling is like when you first take control of it."
(Elizabeth) "Yes, I'm afraid I still haven't gotten used to them...Oh! I apologize for interrupting you during a day off!"
(Stefan) "Don't worry, I'm always glad to help. I was just about to grab lunch with Kairos."
Upon mentioning the name, Elizabeth's smile quickly disappeared, her gaze slowly going to her right as Kairos approached.
(Kairos) "You done, Stefan?"
(Elizabeth) "Ah. I imagine you had some smidge of satisfaction watching me bumble about, Kairos."
(Kairos) "When it involves you, I doubt I can feel anything remotely positive, Elizabeth."
(Stefan) "C-Come on you two...-"
Before Stefan could unsuccessfully attempt to calm them down, both Kairos and Elizabeth's ears were yanked downwards, catching them both off guard.
(Kairos) "OW! OW OW OW!"
(Elizabeth) "AGH?!"
When their eyes looked to the source, it was a small girl pulling both their ears.
(Helena) "No fighting. Professor's orders."
Helena let go, both of them startled by how surprisingly strong she was. Kairos straightened his glasses as he shook his head.
(Kairos) "Ugh, damn you can pinch hard..."
(Elizabeth) "Helena, dear, I thought I taught you better than to sneak up out of nowhere like that!"
Helena simply shrugged with a deadpan expression. She then turned to Stefan with the same face.
(Helena) "If these two are too busy ripping out each other's throats, I can eat lunch with you."
(Stefan) "Ha...Thanks, I think?"
(Kairos) "Nonsense, we were just going-."
(Stefan) "Elizabeth, would you like to join us?"
Kairos immediately spun around to Stefan, his eye twitching underneath his glasses.
(Elizabeth) "Well...it'd be remiss of me to pay back your kindness for assisting me earlier, so very well."
(Stefan) "Just...play nicely you two."
(Kairos/Elizabeth) "I HAVEN'T EVEN DONE ANYTHING!"
The four departed for the mess hall, Kairos and Elizabeth glaring at each other while Helena and Stefan shrugged. When they reached the entrance, they heard a voice call out to them.
(Astrid) "Oh hey, over here!"
Kairos and Helena waved hello and once everyone grabbed their food, they sat by Astrid who was sitting alone at the end of the table, 3 plates of food her only company.
Everyone else had one plate of food, and even then it was barely covered.
(Kairos) "Good goddess, Astrid. Think this is enough?"
(Astrid) munch munch "Whayameab?"
Helena, still having her blank expression, just shook her head.
(Helena) "No talking with your mouth full."
Taking the time to swallow her food, Astrid asked the question again.
(Astrid) gulp! "Ah! What do you mean? We go through a lot of energy throughout the day, you know!"
Stefan looked at his one plate then back to Astrid's.
(Stefan) "...She's got a point. I'm getting more."
He got up from his seat with a newfound fire in his eyes, making everyone but Astrid sigh.
(Astrid) "See, he gets it!"
(Elizabeth) "But what about dinner? You both will spoil your appetites!"
(Astrid) "Nonsense, we got a lot of training to do for the practical exams, we'll work up a big one too!"
(Kairos) "Ah, speaking of which, how are your studies going? I can basically see my spellbook whenever I close my eyes."
Helena completely froze before she could put the fork into her mouth.
(Helena) "...Exam?"
(Astrid) "Yeah, Tuesday morning, we'll be getting judged by our professors for our combat capabilities. You didn't know?"
Helena's shoulders seemed to relax after she processed Astrid's words.
(Helena) "Oh. Nothing to worry about then."
(Elizabeth) "You haven't studied at all, did you?"
(Kairos) "While I don't think anyone should skip out on their coursework, I think Helena will do just fine...The physical portion anyway."
Helena only grunted in response. Stefan sat back down next to Kairos and turned to her.
(Stefan) "Well we don't need to worry about the written portion for a while! Besides, it's the physical part that matters in a practical exam anyway."
(Astrid) "Agreed. The whole writing part of them is pretty pointless."
(Elizabeth) "Hmph, says you! I will have you all attend my study sessions once this exam is over, you have grown far too lax!"
(Kairos) "Hey, what makes you think I can't teach Stefan or Astrid?"
(Elizabeth) "Your intelligence is not being called into question, Kairos. It's your willingness to let them skip out on sessions!"
(Astrid) "As if you don't do the same with Helena-"
(Elizabeth) "-That is NOT because I let her, it's because she keeps hiding!"
Finally, Helena cracked a small smile.
(Helena) "Yup."
(Elizabeth) sigh "I do wish you'd take this more seriously. This exam not a matter of just grades, but Headmaster Eisner will be a close eye for the exceptional students!"
Stefan, Helena, and Astrid stiffened upon hearing the last part.
(Astrid) "W-Wait, really?!"
(Kairos) "If you had been paying attention in class, you'd have known that by now. Those chosen few will be taken into a special class personally led by her."
(Stefan) "Oh crap! We gotta get started soon!"
Stefan and Astrid began scarfing down their food, much to Elizabeth's dismay. Kairos just shook his head while Helena shrugged.
...
(Mercedes) "-...and that about sums up what I've seen out of the student body. There were a few who seemed promising, but we will not know until Tuesday's Exam."
Sitri put a finger to her chin as she took everyone's words into consideration.
(Constance) "Do you truly think the students are ready to travel all over Fodlan? I do not believe even back in the day, we were."
(Yuri) "Frankly, times are even more dangerous now than they were back then."
(Recette) "It's not many that are going out right? We're just picking the best ones out of everyone."
(Mercedes) "Recette dear, we do not want to see even one of our students get hurt. Garreg Mach is safe, but everywhere else..."
(Tear) "Hm. From what I've read on the reports, the attacks in Adrestian and Leicester territories have increased."
Sothis looked over to Sitri, crossing her arms.
(Sothis) "So, what are you thinking?"
Sitri's eyes looked up, but spoke only inside her own head.
(Sitri) Back in the day, Byleth and his students went out to solve these...problems for the Church.
(Sothis) "Yes, but the times have changed. The world is arguably more volatile than before, what with these Separatists, the remnants of Those Who Slither and Church. Taking the students out of Garreg Mach could be incredibly dangerous for them."
(Sitri) Well, this IS an officer's academy. But you raise a fair point.
Sitri tuned back into the conversation everyone else was having.
(Yuri) "Well, even when we find the chosen few students, how are we gonna teach the houses? I doubt any of us want to take them into the warzone that is Fhirdiad."
(Mercedes) "I do not think we'll have a choice. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude will ask us many tasks. Sitri's group the most dangerous ones, presumably."
(Constance) "Hm...I wish we had more of our old friends around."
(Recette) "Oh, maybe we can hire adventurers?"
(Tear) "I do not think we can entrust them with the safety of our students, only our gold. And that can easily be betrayed as well."
(Sitri) "Hm. And Mercedes had a point, we're going to get called into some dangerous missions. It's not like the nations can spare any more soldiers to us than they already have-..."
Sitri's eyes lit up, catching everyone's attention. Since Sothis could read her mind, her eyes were already going wide.
(Constance) "Lady Sitri?"
(Sitri) "We're short on help, the threats in this world are rising exponentially higher, and we need people we can trust to teach our students."
(Yuri) "And...who'd those people be?"
...
...
[Dead Broke - Konosuba OST]
Kazuma sat on the chair, tapping his fingers against the armrest sighing loudly. No one was in the house currently. Megumin was off casting explosions with Yunyun, Darkness, surprisingly, was off doing Noble duties. And as for Aqua…Who the hell knows what she was up to right now?
(Kazuma) “So…god damn…BORED.”
He slumped back on the couch, grumbling to himself. Nothing sounded particularly entertaining or stimulating right now. Kazuma got off and began pacing back and forth trying to think of something. This was the fourth week in a row he had done nothing. At first he loved it. Then it hit him, there was no one at home to even talk to since they were off doing their own thing.
He had gotten exactly what he wanted, peace and quiet. Now, he had too much of it. There was no devil king to defeat, no quests to do, no one to even have lunch with.
(Kazuma) “Ugh...this SUCKS!”
He kicked the table leg in frustration, which only made his foot hurt and made him swear even more. Kazuma shook his head and went into the kitchen. He swung open the pantry, trying to find any bottles of wine-They were gone. Why the hell were they go-
(Kazuma) “THAT BLUE LITTLE BITCH.”
Aqua took all of it. Literally all of it. Even the ones he thought he hid. To say anyone outside could hear him would have been an understatement. He made one last scream of pure unadulterated anger before he fell to the floor, ready to cry. There was literally nothing to do. Nothing at all.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
(Kazuma) “…The hell?”
He sat up, feeling a vibration in his pocket. Raising an eyebrow he reached into it and pulled out a small crest.
(Kazuma) “When was this in my-”
It was a tiny badge of House Isekai’s logo.
(Kazuma) “Man…That’s something I haven’t thought of in a while…Wait a second, we never had anything like this, why the hell is it in my pocket?”
Beep! Beep! Beep!
(Kazuma) “…How do I make it shut up?”
He tried poking it.
Beep! Beep! Be-
He tried poking it multiple times. Except harder.
Beep! Be-
(Kazuma) “…”
He put it on the table, took a deep breath, then slammed it with his fist.
DING DING!
(Kazuma) “Thank go-”
BZZZRRRRRT!
Kazuma was about to scream before he heard a voice coming from it.
(Girl's voice) "H-Hello? Is this on? Am I speaking to Kazuma?"
(Kazuma) "...Yes, I'm Kazuma."
(Girl's voice) "Ah, it's been such a long time! It's so nice to hear your voice again!"
Kazuma's head racked for faces to connect the voice to. But narrowing it down, and by how cheerful the voice was, it could only be-
(Kazuma) "Towa?!"
(Towa's Voice) "Yup, yours truly!"
He felt a wave of relief wash over him. Finally, someone to talk to that wasn't a complete idiot.
(Kazuma) "...Wait, why'd you call me?"
(Towa's Voice) "You're actually the last person I'm calling. So far, I've got Rean and Aigis to respond."
If she was calling everyone then does that mean...?
(Kazuma) "Is this a high school reunion? Cause if it is, I didn't really-"
(Towa's Voice) "W-What? No. I'm afraid it's not as pleasant as that. It's about Fodlan."
Kazuma's casual demeanor suddenly vanished. It had been nearly three years since he and his party left Fodlan. And if they were suddenly calling for him, then that means-
(Kazuma) "What's happening there?"
(Towa's Voice) "I'm not sure. The situation seems to be a bit murky. All we know is Sitri called us for help. I've been trying to call and get everyone we can, but...It seems like we'll only have the three of us. We understand if you have your own duties to attend to in your world."
Part of him did NOT want to go back to Fodlan. It wasn't simple like this world, there wasn't any clear cut good guy or bad guy. And yet...
(Kazuma) "...I'm in."
(Towa's Voice) "R-Really?"
(Kazuma) "If our friends back home are in danger, say no more. Besides, was always hard to say no to you, Towa."
(Towa's Voice) "Heh, I'll be sure to remember that Kazuma. Just call me back when you're ready!"
(Kazuma) "Got it."
Kazuma put the crest on the table as he looked around. Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin probably wouldn't be home for another couple days.
(Kazuma) "If that whole time passing bullshit is the same like last time..."
Years in Fodlan meant minutes in his world passed. That wasn't something he could risk. He rushed to his room and put on his adventuring gear, taking his tracksuit as well.
Making sure his sword was on his belt and cape on his back was adjusted, he found a piece of paper and wrote a note before leaving.
Fodlan is in trouble. House Isekai is getting called. Get your asses in here ASAP. - Kazuma
Leaving it on the table where the crest was, Kazuma sighed deeply. When he wanted something to do, this was NOT what he envisioned getting. He was glad at least some familiar faces would be there to greet him. Kazuma had no idea if he was actually ready for the upcoming fight, but there was one thing he knew. He couldn't run away, as much as he wanted to.
Not after so many friends died protecting that world.
Unlike him, they don't get to resurrect and try again. So in the end, it was up to him, Rean, Towa, and Aigis from what he heard.
(Kazuma) "Towa? This is Kazuma. Let's send in the cavalry."

oh noooo :( i'm glad you are feeling better now though!! 💕 i am doing well, at home for the holidays and not doing much :) excited for all the year end stages and stuff
honestly i love literally all of xdh's songs LOL but my favs are prob strawberry cake, test me, pirates, ghost, xmas. all 12 of their songs are so good though haha
ever since watching that video of the kkulchong edm story, i've noticed the "kkulchong" and "yohhh"s in other skz songs and it makes me laugh LOL
how did you like skz replay?? my favs are probably limbo (lino singing for 3 minutes 😭), love untold (which was surprising bc i love hyunjin but his songs are not usually my style lol), and stars and raindrops! but i like the whole album a lot in general, what a nice early xmas/holiday gift for stays :D and we're getting a japan album in feb...just crazy, but i'm excited because i guess it'll be my first comeback as a stay!!
ooh those are some solid boba orders hahaha, i love thai tea too and anything mango with green tea is amazing ^^ i dont think i've ever had the wintermelon drinks at boba places before actually so i'll have to try it sometime! these days i find myself gravitating to the more fruity drinks/unsweetened drinks rather than traditional milk tea, maybe im getting old and i find more things sweet now than i used to 😭 but i do like a good thai tea :)
It's so nice being home for the holidays, not doing much is the best! I'm finally off for a few days and it feels so good~
Very good choices! My faves are Suck Punch, Pirates, Crack in the Mirror, and X-MAS! I agree though that they have lots of good songs!
Oh my gosh same! Especially the yoh's... Every time I hear one I can't help but chuckle, regardless of the song, it's just too silly to me now. XD
I think it was all nice, they're good songs, though some of the new ones I didn't click with personally - but I'm not surprised about that since I don't tend to be into OST sounding songs. My top 2 are definitely Connected then Doodle, after that I'm not sure, I feel like I've been flip flopping on which one is 3rd for me. And it's cool to have all those great skz record songs on an album!!! Yeah I can't believe we're getting another album already... Crazy! Ooo first comebacks are always so fun!!! Mine was Maxident!
Good to know you have good taste in boba orders. 😂 Mango in general is my favorite - for fruit, for flavoring, I love mango! I haven't seen Wintermelon at a lot of places, but I enjoy it at the place I get my boba! I'm the opposite, I love sweet milk teas, I'm not as into the just fruit teas. I have a super high sweetness tolerance. XD

Tumblr media
When Jungkook claimed that 'the whole family needs you,' what he really meant was that the Kims needed you to convince Taehyung to go back to Seoul.
"No. I'd rather die than go back there." Your brother's face was scarlet, obviously fuming.
You sighed. Defeat was already knocking on your door, telling you to give it up. Taehyung was stubborn, no one could make him do something he proclaimed he hated.
"B-But..." You couldn't give up, so desperately, you looked at him and said "our family needs us—"
"Our family needs us?" He cut you off, voice laced with so much fury it made you flinch.
You hadn't seen him this enraged. Regret washed over you. Perhaps you should've waited for the sun to come up first before dropping the bad news to him. Taehyung woke up with a sour mood since you banged on your bedroom door, forcing him to come out and talk to you.
He had a frown on his face when he opened the door, eyes squinting, he asked you what you could possibly want in the middle of the night.
You told him your concern at once, not minding that Jimin was awake now, calling your name softly like he wasn't sure what was happening or why you're suddenly disturbing everyone's sleep.
Yoongi was awake too. He stood behind Taehyung as he scratched the back of his head, frowning at you.
You ruined their sleep while Jungkook ruined your peace.
He told you that your father and Soojin got into an accident. Apparently, the building which was being constructed by Castle Architectural Firm collapsed. Some construction workers, your father, and Soojin were injured.
Admittedly, you didn't know all the details because your mind had gone haywire the second you heard Jungkook associated your family's names with the word accident.
You could say though that between you and Taehyung, the latter was calmer. When you told him the same thing Jungkook had said to you, all your brother asked was this: "they're...still alive, right?"
You nodded your head, lips pressing into a grim line when he shrugged.
Nonchalantly.
Taehyung shrugged nonchalantly.
"Good. I'll just send them a text message later." He attempted to shut the door.
"Wait!" You stopped him, saying that you two needed to plan your trip back home.
It's his turn to smack his lips together, as if he found your statement ridiculous.
Taehyung told you he would never go back to Seoul. You still insisted on going though, prompting him to say things both of you knew he's gonna regret.
"Why are you forcing me to go back to that shithole?" He snapped at you. "Did you forget what I've been through because of him?"
You could see it in his eyes. He wanted to scream everything—he lost everything because of Taemin.
"B-But..." You were too frightened to think of a proper explanation so you just repeated what you said a few breaths ago, "they need us..." Your voice was actually low, like you weren't sure if what you said was valid.
Taehyung proved that it was bull by cackling. His tongue was prodding at the insides of his mouth.
"Bull fucking shit." You took a step back upon hearing his snarl. Taehyung was glaring daggers at you.
"Taehyung-ah..." Yoongi interrupted before his boyfriend could hurt you with his words. It was to no avail. Your brother didn't stop sputtering things. He was directing his frustration to you.
"What? I'm right, Yoongi." He also glared at his hyung before casting his gaze back at you. "We chose to leave but they pushed us to do it. Our father can't accept me. My mother barely tolerated me. Seokjin and Namjoon-hyung are the only ones who defended me, but where are they now? They stopped talking to me too—" He sounded bitter.
You couldn't blame him. None of them reached out to talk to you and your brother. It had been almost two years since you contacted them. They didn't spare you even a simple greeting no matter how many holidays had passed, no matter how long your messages were.
The Kims never replied.
"Consider leaving Seoul as a sign of you turning your back on us." This was what Taemin said to Taehyung.
And to you?
Nothing.
They never cared about you. As a matter of fact, you felt like you had done them a favor when you left. Even Soojin didn't bother to stop you. She only said you're old enough to decide for yourself, that she got a lot on her plate right now and that she didn't have time for your drama or whatever you're going through.
Taehyung said you were stupid. Why did you keep insisting yourself to them? Wasn't it obvious to you that they didn't want you in their circle? You were an outsider they would never let in.
"—and now you're saying they need us? For what?" He answered his own question after swallowing his spit. "For support? That's rich coming from them, don't you think? How dare they ask something they never gave us when we needed it the most?"
"I don't want to end up like them, oppa." Your voice was barely audible as you trained your eyes on the floor. "You and I both know how painful it is not to have the support we craved. Do you really want to pass that pain to someone else?"
Taehyung cackled, forcing you to cast your eyes back to him.
"That's where we're different, little sister." He licked his lower lip, thunder and lightning were brewing in his eyes. "I don't care about the pain of the people who hurt me. I don't want to be the bigger person here. What? Am I supposed to just forget everything I went through just because my father is in pain? He's hurt for a reason. He deserves it."
Taehyung knew he was being mean. He couldn't help it. Why must he allow toxic people back in his life again? He managed to pull himself from a very dark place. It was difficult. It was shitty. It was heartbreaking. But he did it.
He did it and just because he could didn't mean he'd allow himself to go back to that dark place. Taehyung wouldn't. He would never be sorry for how he protected his peace.
Not going back to Seoul was how he did it.
"But Soojin..." If Taehyung couldn't forgive his father, then he should go back home for the sake of his other sister.
"Ah," your brother smirked. "Kim Soojin. The person who stole the love of your life. Am I right?" He crossed his arms, not waiting for you to reply.
"Sometimes I don't understand you. Are you a martyr or an idiot? Why would you want to help Soojin? You suffered greatly because of her, did you not?"
You were once again lost for words.
Taehyung continued speaking.
"She's mean to you. She's the reason why you're far away from home." He stroked his chin, squinting his eyes at you. "I know now. You're not a martyr. You're stupid. You enjoy loving the people who hurt you, and then you hurt people who love you."
Yoongi grabbed his boyfriend's wrist vigorously. Taehyung ignored his first warning so Yoongi wouldn't allow him to talk to you any further. He was upset and he was starting to hurt you. It's not right.
Taehyung was unstoppable though.
"You love everyone except Jungkook. Is that the reason why you wanna go back home, huh? Guilt finally caught up with you? Do you really want to be there for our family, or is this the only excuse you can think of because you want to see Jungkook again? You haven't moved on from him, have you?"
The storm in his eyes reached you. The thunder was like a booming pain in your head. The lightning electrified your heart that couldn't be revived.
You felt sick, like you were going to faint. Jimin was suddenly beside you. He dug his fingers into your hips, keeping you from falling.
"Kim Taehyung." Jimin growled at his best friend.
"It's okay," you clamped your eyes shut and after a few seconds, you opened them again, staring into your brother's remorseful eyes.
Funny how people instantly pulled themselves together right after lashing out.
"I'll fly back home tomorrow, even without you."
You were true to your words. You booked a flight going back to Seoul while Yoongi pulled Taehyung back to bed, urging him to rest for a while before deciding what he wanted to do with the information you told him.
Morning came and he still didn't change his mind. You had to go home alone.
"I'm going to miss you," but Jimin dropped you off to the airport. Yoongi wanted to go with you, sadly you told him to just stay with his boyfriend.
"Me too." You unbuckled your seat belt and then you turned to your roommate, giving him your sincerest smile. "Thank you, Jimin. For everything."
He was the sweetest and kindest boy you knew. Jimin paid for your plane ticket since you didn't have enough money for it. You told him you would pay him back soon, but he simply brushed you off, saying that it didn't matter to him if you couldn't pay.
"Just be safe, okay?" He ruffled your hair while you studied his face. You could see it in his eyes, he wanted to say more. You could almost feel these words leaving his mouth: and please come back to me.
He didn't say it though. He couldn't ask for that knowing that Taehyung was probably right. You were not over Jungkook.
You dreaded seeing him. What were you supposed to do after pretending like he didn't exist for almost two years?
Taehyung hated you for sending long holiday messages to the Kims despite not getting a response.
You, on the other hand, hated yourself for ignoring Jungkook's handwritten holiday messages for you—well, actually, it wasn't just holiday letters. Your best friend sent you letters from time to time.
He sent two letters a week. This went on for a year but then one day, Jungkook just...stopped.
You thought he got tired of you and it broke your heart and made you hate yourself even more. You were the one who left. He was the one who begged you to stay.
You didn't deserve anything from him, not even his anger. The question was, could you take it? Could you bear seeing indifference in his eyes after getting used to the love always dancing in his eyes?
Probably not. This was why you were trying to calm your nerves by taking advantage of the free wine on the plane. Jimin was the one who booked your flight, choosing business class.
You didn't deserve it. You didn't deserve these good men in your life. Taehyung was right. You always ended up hurting the people who loved you.
You drank the pain and bitterness away. You lost count on how many glasses of wine you had, all you knew was that your head was spinning and you felt like shit when you got off the plane.
Tumblr media
"I didn't know you drink."
You groaned upon hearing Seokjin's remark. You didn't feel like shit anymore.
You felt shittier.
Abashed, you smiled apologetically at your older brother, suddenly regretting his offer to pick you up from the airport.
"Long time no see, oppa..." Two years and he still looked the same: like a deity. Seokjin aged like a fine wine.
"I'm sorry I can't convince Taehyung-oppa to come home with me." Your face was hot and you weren't sure if it was because of wine or embarrassment.
Seokjin noticed your sheepishness as he took your suitcase and handbag, carrying them for you.
"I didn't expect him to come. But at least you're here. Father is expecting you." He started walking so you followed.
"H-How's he and Soojin?" You were stammering since you weren't used to conversing with him. This was probably the longest conversation you had with your eldest brother.
Seokjin had always acted indifferent towards you.
"Jungkook didn't tell you?" He enquired while loading the boot of his car with your luggage.
"He...just told me they're injured."
Your brother sucked in a breath. He closed the trunk of his car loudly before turning to you. Too many emotions were painted on his face, but the most apparent was...exhaustion? Or was it sympathy for your naivety?
"I envy you..." The corner of his mouth turned up as he eyed you from head to toe. You fought the urge to step back. He was making you feel intimidated ."You got to drink. I didn't." He walked towards the driver's seat of his car, opening its door. "The situation is getting worse, sister. You should've drunk more when you still had the chance."
Tumblr media
You didn't understand what Seokjin said to you at first, but the moment he turned on the radio in his car, your world crumpled and you wished you had drunk more wine.
"SPD has confirmed that at least four people died in a commercial building collapse Wednesday afternoon in—"
Your stomach flipped, your brain no longer able to listen to the sickening news.
Baffled, your head snapped to look at your brother who was clenching his jaw, his grip on the steering wheel was tight.
"I thought no one died!" You whimpered, chest recoiling.
"That's fifteen hours ago."
Fuck.
"B-But...you said Soojin and father are okay, right? They're not..." You trailed off, it was physically painful for you to continue your statement.
Seokjin sucked in a deep breath as he realized it was better to tell you the truth now. He said that your father was still unconscious, something big and hard fell on his head.
Soojin was in a wheelchair but at least she's conscious. There were cuts and bruises all over her body because of the fallen debris.
"Can we go straight to the hospital now, oppa? I..." You licked your lower lip. "I want to see Soojin and father."
Seokjin didn't answer but he nodded his head. The rest of the ride was filled with silence. The older man turned off the radio when he realized you were breathing heavily.
You tried to calm down. You really did, howbeit everything was too much for you. The alcohol in your system was making you feel hot even though you're literally covered in cold sweat.
What about those people who had died? Do their family know? How could Castle help them? Who was taking charge?
You whimpered again. When you left two years ago, the situation was already bad. The construction workers were protesting every Friday, demanding to be treated right—to be treated fairly. They didn't have the same benefits as regular employees. They didn't have social insurance. Their daily wage wasn't even enough to get them by.
"Hey..." Seokjin slowed down, glancing at you when he heard you whine for the umpteenth time. "Your head hurts? We can buy coffee if you want..."
Was he worried thinking that you had too much wine?
"I'm okay, oppa. Just thinking about those who..." You swallowed thickly. "d-died."
Seokjin's eyes softened.
"Namjoonie is taking care of it," he exhaled slowly. "Don't worry about it."
It was easier said than done. You thought about this as you headed to the VIP floor of the hospital. Taemin was confined in one of the rooms on that floor.
You were going to see your father in a few and admittedly, you were nervous. Seokjin's words were echoing inside your head: don't worry about it. How could you stop worrying about those workers who had died when there's a possibility that your father might end up just like them?
"Where's Taehyung?" You heard Sin-ae before you saw her. She was guarding the door of Taemin's room, like she had no intention to let you in.
Of course. You expected this day to be difficult. Nothing much had changed in the past two years. Sin-ae still treated with strong contempt.
You noticed the change in her eyes though. Back then, she threw daggers at you, but right now, she looked like she didn't have the energy to do that. Her eyes were...hollow.
"I...couldn't convince him to go home—"
It was sudden.
Not your answer. You had thought so many times while you were on plane the things you would tell Sin-ae and your entire family as to why Taehyung couldn't come home.
He's busy with work, but he's sad he can't come.
He's flying back home in days. Let's just wait for him.
He said he's sorry. He'll call later. Don't worry.
Your excuses were thought thoroughly. You practiced saying it. Hell, you even imagine what they'd say or how they'd react.
You expected them to scowl, to cry...Sin-ae cried.
She cried after slapping you right across the face. She's angry. She's sad. She's frustrated. She's directing these ugly feelings twisting in her gut to you.
"He couldn't come?" She hissed, her eyes were red and tears kept on rolling down her cheeks. She was shaking.
"Jungkook told you to convince my son to go home! You had one job! One fucking job! Why can't you do it, huh?"
"I'm sorry," you were guilty. You avoided her gaze. "I just..." And then you bit your tongue before you said "want to see my father..."
You tried to get past her, but she blocked the way.
"No!" She spread her arms to cover the door. "You are not allowed to see my husband, bastard!"
You shook your head, ignoring her and still insisting to go inside the room. Seokjin said Taemin wanted to see you.
He requested your presence.
"Please." You pleaded. Your voice was shaky too, your blood running cold. Something was wrong. Something was telling you you had to see your father.
The beat of your heart wasn't normal.
"He wants me here..."
"No!" Sin-ae pushed your chest. "We want Taehyung here. Not you! So get lost!"
No.
You pushed her too, making her more aggressive. Sin-ae scratched your skin, screaming. She wanted you to go away.
"What is happening here?" Seokjin arrived. He was so startled to see his mom in this feral state.
"I want her out, Seokjin! Make her go away!" Sin-ae wailed in her son's arm.
Your older brother embraced her tight. He was looking at you using those puppy eyes.
"I'm so sorry," he shook his head at you and then he mumbled "please leave..."
Off you go.
You were defeated anyway. Two versus one. How could you fight your family?
Tumblr media
You were exhausted. Both from your long flight and dealing with Sin-ae. Your head hurt too.
You needed coffee to help you sober up. Fuck wine. Fuck Sin-ae. Fuck this stupid vending machine.
Why couldn't you have your coffee?
It was fucking stuck.
You breathed heavily while massaging your temple.
You hadn't recovered from your throbbing head when a new wave of pain engulfed you.
Someone called your name.
Not just someone.
You knew that voice well.
You turned your head to the side slowly.
You saw the person who called you.
"Soojin..." It was Jungkook who called your name, but what you uttered was your sister's name.
He was with her. Jungkook was standing behind Soojin's wheelchair.
Baby I'm falling head over heels
Your breathing hitched while looking at the both of them.
It was just like in movies. You know, when your eyes sparkled when you saw someone you loved after a very long time.
Looking for ways to let you know just how I feel
You called Soojin yet your eyes were focused on your best friend. The friend you hadn't seen in years.
I wish I was holding you by my side
His voice was soft when he uttered your name. But just like Sin-ae, his eyes changed too.
Indifference.
He was no longer looking at you with fire in his eyes.
I wouldn't change a thing 'cause finally it's real
It was like he's a completely different person. It hurt looking at him like this, like he didn't recognize you, like he was debating if you were real or not.
Were you really here? Or were you just a fragment of his imagination?
You walked towards them, causing Jungkook to flinch.
His chest felt heavy. He gripped the push handle of Soojin's wheelchair with force.
You were standing near them now.
Jungkook blinked.
He wasn't hesitating anymore.
You were definitely here.
I'm tryin' to hold back, you ought to know that
"Hi..." You said to Soojin, voice wavering. It hurt seeing her like this. She had a cervical collar on. It was difficult for her to speak.
You crouched down as you smiled softly at your sister.
Jungkook watched you. He was holding himself back. It wasn't the right time to hold you in his arms.
You're the one that's on my mind
He missed you though. More than so much. Two years and you were still running inside his mind.
I'm falling too fast deeply in love
Everything was dawning to him too fast.
Two years and he still loved you.
Time was irrelevant.
It went slow when you weren't around. He thought those painfully long moments without you by his side were enough to forget his feelings for you.
Finding the magic in the colors of you
Apparently, it wasn't enough. He stared hard at you, like he was looking for something.
Love? Affection? Anger? Longing?
He would take anything you could offer, because after all this time, he was still in love with you.
Little did he know, you felt the same way too.
For Jungkook, you're the right time at the right moment
But as you straighten your back and met his gaze, you realized something:
For you, he was the wrong time at the wrong moment.

You had never seen Jungkook look so pissed before. When you were around, he was all smiles and heart eyes and this just showed how much he adored you; however, the look he was giving you right now was so dark that you had to look away.
'Because I'm damn jealous,' he said. Did he mean this? Didn't he hate you for dumping him? For giving up on him even though he asked—begged you to stay with him?
'But it's complicated.' You argued with yourself. You didn't want to make things difficult. He was promised to Soojin. Your sister said she was in love with Jungkook too. Who were you to stop them from being together?
Besides, you did it for the company and for your father.
Ah, your father...
You sacrificed things to make him happy, yet you still weren't given a chance to see him for the last time.
You cackled bitterly as you drank another shot of tequila. Your head spun and your throat burned. You didn't care though. You still continued drinking until your vision doubled and until you couldn't feel the intensity of Jungkook's glare anymore.
"Tiger..." But you felt him touch your elbow lightly to stop you from taking another shot of this alcoholic beverage.
You glared at him, prying your arm out of his grasp. Jungkook pursed his lips and let you go. His jaw ticked, thick brows furrowing.
"What do you want, Jungkook?" You hissed, a thought popping inside your mind: why did we lash out on the people we loved when we're frustrated or lonely?
You didn't want to push him away anymore, you also didn't want to lose him again, but your actions were the opposite of what you felt.
You were just so tired of losing people. It's better to push those who loved you and insist yourself to those who didn't love you.
"You're drunk," he sighed, putting his hands inside the pockets of his jeans. Jungkook wanted to touch you again but he was scared to upset you.
"I'm not." You replied incompletely: I'm not drunk. I'm grieving.
"Literally everyone who's drunk always denies they're drunk. Stop it—" He instantly snatched the shot glass from your hand when you tried to bring it to your lips.
"Hey!" You pouted as Jungkook downed the shot, his adam's apple bobbing in his throat.
"No more drinks for you." He smiled cheekily like he won.
Your lips protrude more. Did he think this was a game?
"Fine." You called the attention of the bartender. You would play too.
"Three more shots of tequila please..." You batted an eyelash at the bartender, unfortunately what you received in return was a tight smile.
The bartender offered to serve you a non-alcoholic beverage instead since it was obvious you're intoxicated. You couldn't handle more alcohol.
"But I want to!" You whined. It's a little out of character. You rarely insisted what you wanted. The environment where you grew up taught you to just accept things you couldn't have. It was like you didn't have the right to fight for what you wanted.
"Alright. That's it. Let's get you home." Jungkook interrupted when you attempted to grab the collar of the bartender's uniform.
Shit. Jungkook forgot how feisty you got when you're drunk.
"Um—" The bartender seemed uncomfortable while switching glances between you and Jungkook. "Do you know him?"
"She does. I'm her best friend." Jungkook answered the question of the bartender for you.
"Mam?" But the bartender didn't look convinced. The response must come out of your mouth. What if Jungkook was taking advantage of you? It's the bar's protocol to look after their drunk customer.
"He's lying." You told the bartender which made Jungkook's jaw clench.
"Tiger—" He dug his hands into your hips, steadying you in place. You looked like you're about to fall from the bar stool.
Damn it. You're too intoxicated.
"Would you like me to call you an uber, Mam?" The bartender asked but you didn't respond. Instead, you turned to Jungkook.
"You're not just my best friend, Jungkook." You put your hand on his chest. At first he thought you're gonna push him away again, he was surprised, however, when you leaned your head against his ribcage, feeling the beat of his heart "You're more than that..."
Your lips were dangerous close to Jungkook. It was as though you're waiting to be kissed; however, before your mouths molded together, Jungkook immediately tilted his head, clearly avoiding the act.
Hurt crossed your face as you heard your heart breaking.
To mask the pain, you pretended like you're sleepy. You yawned and then your eyes fluttered shut.
Moments later, you're not pretending anymore. You're off to dreamland.
Tumblr media
The bartender let you go after seeing how you snuggled up to Jungkook, it was like you were comfortable around him, like you knew him with all of your heart.
"I'm not a bad person. I really know her. I can leave my identification cards here if you want." Jungkook offered to ease the mind of the bartender.
But the employee said there’s no need for that. He was free to leave with you.
Your best friend nodded and then he called an uber upon realizing that he couldn't drive. Admittedly he wouldn't mind driving if he was alone, but he wouldn't compromise your safety after he drank two glasses of bourbon and a shot of tequila. No questions asked. He'd definitely leave his car in the parking space of this bar. He could always come back for it later.
For now, his whole attention was focused on you. He was aware you'd be cross with him the moment you sobered up and realized you were at his home.
Jungkook didn't want to go back to the motel. He wasn't sure if he could still bear to sleep on that Godforsaken bed one more time. He knew you probably felt the same way as well. You're just too stubborn to admit it.
Jungkook helped you get on the bed. You were inside the guest room, the same room where you used to sleep whenever he begged you to stay the night.
He missed those moments. He missed having you around. You weren't just the girl he had romantic feelings for. You're also his best friend, his other half, and his soulmate. He's lost without you.
"Rest well, Tiger." After removing your shoes and massaging your feet a little, Jungkook smiled fondly at your sleeping form.
He was content just by looking at you like this. After listening to your cries every night through that thin wall of the motel room, Jungkook finally saw you sleeping soundly.
Tumblr media
Jungkook was wrong; you didn't get crossed with him when you had realized you're in his apartment, if anything, you looked...grateful.
"Want more?" He asked thoughtfully after noticing that you had finished the bowl of soup he made just for you.
Jungkook also bought corn dogs and your favorite probiotic drink. Of course chocolates were included as well.
"No thanks. I'm full." You smiled sheepishly and avoided his gaze.
You were embarrassed, feeling like you were taking advantage of him. Jungkook prepared your food and he let you sleep in his place for more than twelve hours. He took care of you during your most vulnerable state.
You knew you didn't deserve his kindness, not after pushing him away for so many times and then trying to kiss him.
Your eyes dilated at the memory of that.
Shit.
Why did you try to kiss him!?
Were you out of your mind? Did he remember? What did he think of you? Was he disgusted?
"I should go—" You abruptly flinched, alarmed by the humiliating questions circling your head.
"You should stay the night." But Jungkook said this at the same time you told him it's better if you go.
Your head snapped to meet his gaze at once. You were obviously startled by what he said.
Jungkook was currently sitting on a chair right in front of you, the look in his eyes was gentle, almost pleading—as if he's scared you're gonna shut him down again.
"I know you don't want to be around me but I can't let you leave in the middle of the night." I don't want you to be alone, my Tiger.
"I—I need to change though." You gripped the neckline of your top. It smelled like alcohol and sweat.
"All of your things are still in the guest room." Your room. "Nothing's changed." I still love you.
"Okay." You whispered softly. "Thanks, Kook." I don't want to be alone tonight.
"Sure." Anything for you.
Tumblr media
You ended up staying at Jungkook's apartment for a couple more days. Or was it weeks?
You honestly didn't know. All you ever did was sleep and ignore the world. You're hurting inside. You felt tired, like nothing mattered.
Jungkook said your father had been buried. You didn't get to attend the wake and the funeral.
"No one really attended, you know? It's just me and the Kims." Jungkook's attempt to soothe you didn't do anything.
Taemin's friends and colleagues didn't go to the funeral but only because they didn't want to associate themselves with your father.
People were calling him a murderer. Based on police investigation, the building collapsed because of design faults and negligence. Taemin was being blamed not only because he was the chairman of the firm but also because he was leading the construction of the building.
The public was demanding accountability.
"It's messed up. Everyone at the firm is going berserk. We need a new chairperson but the Kims are still mourning." Jungkook explained, his eyes were bloodshot.
He looked tired. He actually just got home from the office. His stress was apparent.
Jungkook also told you that the voting for the new chairperson was happening soon. The lawyers of Taemin were reaching out to the Kims so that they could finally discuss the decedent's will.
"Seokjin-hyung told me to tell you that you should be in the meeting. Anyway, I think the estate attorney would reach out to you soon. Castle wants to appoint the new chairperson as soon as possible."
"It's going to be you, right?" It took everything in you to ask this. Truthfully, it made your stomach sink. If Jungkook was going to be the new chairperson, it only meant that he and Soojin would be married soon.
But Jungkook just shrugged.
"You have to be at the meeting." And instead he said this. The loud conviction in his voice was clear.
"Will you be there too?" You enquired.
Jungkook smiled softly. "I'm not part of that family, Tiger."
You kept your mouth shut even when you wanted to say neither am I.
Tumblr media
Just like what Jungkook said, the estate attorney contacted you. The meeting would be held at the office room of Taemin in Castle. It's because Sin-ae didn't want you to step inside their mansion again.
The meeting started almost immediately. As expected, Sin-ae and all of her children were here. She rolled her eyes and scoffed the moment she saw you. Seokjin and Namjoon both nodded at you, Soojin, on the other hand, embraced you.
She was no longer wearing a cervical collar. Your sister looked better—healthy. You suddenly wondered if she knew you were living with Jungkook.
Maybe? They're getting married soon. Jungkook wouldn't want a misunderstanding. He probably told her there's nothing to worry about. You were just his best friend. He only felt bad for you that's why he took you in.
"Let's start," the executor smiled tightly upon confirming to Namjoon that every family member of the Kims was already here.
The reading of the will went smoothly at first, but commotion began when the executor started uttering how the estate would be divided.
Sin-ae was the first to react. She was demanding to know why an illegitimate child like you had a share equal to her children.
"I know the law! It is clearly stated there that bastards are only entitled to receive one half of the share of the legitimate children! Namjoon! You tell them!" Sin-ae's eyes were wide as she turned to her smartest son, hoping that he could knock some senses into this stupid executor and lawyers.
The executor explained the reason before Namjoon could speak though.
"Your husband decided to divide his assets equally, Madame. The testator is free to do so." The executor even read the applicable law regarding the issue.
Sin-ae gasped dramatically. The glare she was giving you was piercing. However You didn't flinch like you used to.
For the first time, you didn't feel the need to hunch your shoulders and hide. You were just so exhausted from her drama and bullshit.
"Apart from that, your son, Kim Taehyung, renounced his inheritance."
Sin-ae caused another drama upon hearing that. She exclaimed and almost hit you in the face when the executor elucidated that Kim Taehyung's share would be given to you.
"No! I don't buy it! It’s absurd. Call my son right now! This isn't happening!" Seokjin and Namjoon held their mother, stopping her from attacking you.
You remained unfazed, though deep inside, you're dying of curiosity. Why would Taemin give you Taehyung's share? Why not to Soojin?
She's his favorite, right?
"There's no need for that. Your son signed the papers two years ago. His consent is not vitiated."
The executor continued despite Sin-ae's protest. In all honesty, the executor explained things well. However, you still couldn't seem to wrap your head around the fact that the free portion of Taemin's estate would also be given to you.
Seriously? Was this a terrible joke?
Sin-ae thought so too. She was so baffled to the point that she couldn't help but direct her anger at the executor.
"This is all lies! Where is the real last will and testament of my husband?" Sin-ae snatched the papers from the executor and tore it apart. She was shaking in indignation.
"Mother, stop it..." Seokjin's face was red. He was embarrassed. His mother was turning like a feral animal.
"No, oppa. I'm with our mother here. This seems like a joke to me too." Soojin finally spoke after a long moment of silence. She was scoffing at you while folding her arms over her chest.
You clenched your jaw, inhaling sharply.
"Why the hell would father give you more than fifty percent of his estate?" Soojin couldn't help but snarl at you too.
75% of Taemin's estate was for the compulsory heirs. The remaining 25% was free portion, meaning, he could give it to literally anyone, even if it's not a family member.
You would own that 25% share as well as your 15% share from the 75% portion. (75% divided by 5: four children and the testator's spouse = 15%) Since Taehyung renounced his share, that 15% would also belong to you.
Your total share was fifty five percent.
Holy shit.
"Unfortunately we can't ask the decedent. What we can do is honor his will. It's the right thing to do, both legally and morally speaking." The executor answered Soojin's question.
"Honor my ass! I tore the papers apart—"
"Does it matter? I'm sure there's another copy." You cut Sin-ae off, startling her and the rest of the family. As a matter of fact, Soojin's mouth dropped on the floor. Sin-ae's eyes darkened as she cursed you.
Namjoon tried to keep his face impassive but you saw how his eyes quivered. Seokjin flinched but you didn't get to see his reaction that much since he was busy calming his mother down.
"And if you have concerns, I think it's better to settle this in court." You weren't sure where you got the courage to speak up like this.
You just said you're tired and yes, that's true.
You were tired. Tired of getting stepped on and tired of being hated when you're literally just existing. Why did people hate you so much when all you ever did was be kind and respectful to them?
Was it true? Did people think they could harm you just because you're not fighting back? Was this really how the world worked?
If it was, then you had to fight.
"Are you challenging me, huh, bastard?" Sin-ae tried to attack you, but instead of accepting the blow, you square your shoulders like you were ready to fight.
As usual, Seokjin embraced her mother, telling her softly to calm down—that lashing out on people wouldn't do her any good.
"I don't care! I will beat the shit out of that bastard until she learns her place!" Sin-ae spitted, you saw how it landed on the floor.
"I think I am capable of knowing on my own where I belong, eomeoni." You said eomoni just to piss her off.
It worked. Her face screamed murder, it's just like the way she glared at you when she found out you're her husband's bastard.
Back then, you felt humiliated. You wanted to either run for the hill or get on your knees and beg for her forgiveness.
You drilled it in your head that it was your fault her family's breaking apart. You ruined their happy life.
Your existence ruined their peace.
You really did.
Or rather, you would.
You would ruin their peace.
Because three days after you found out that shocking fact that you're inheriting more than half of your father's estate, you came to know another shocking thing.
A thing that shook you to the core.
A thing that made you realize this is the last straw.
You were no longer going to allow the Kims to step on you.
Definitely not after you heard Soojin and Sin-ae talking about this:
"I should be the next chairperson! No one else!"
"You will be." Sin-ae grabbed her daughter's shoulders and looked her straight in the eyes. "Don't worry, Soojin-ah. It doesn't matter if that bastard has a bigger share in the company now. No one would want her to be the next chairperson. It's just you or Jungkook..."
"We have to convince Jungkook to side with us!" Your sister cried.
Sin-ae nodded her head, desperate to sooth Soojin's worries.
"I can handle Jungkook, but you have to promise me you'll handle yourself, okay? I can't deal with the both of you at the same time. Please, Soojin-ah, you need to be careful. No one should know our secret."
You furrowed your brow. Secret? What secret?
The answer was revealed to you at once.
"I destroyed all evidence." Soojin sighed, she was saying all these things confidently but you saw fear dancing in her eyes.
"No one would know I was actually the one leading the construction of that building. Father carried my sins in his grave, mother. I promise you that."
They said promises were meant to be broken.
They're right.
Soojin knew it too.
She knew it because right after those words came out of her mouth, her gaze landed on you.
Shock and Fear.
These were the two emotions that could be seen on her face.
You heard and that’s when Soojin knew she fucked up.

Hectic was the best way to describe how the past few weeks of Hoseok's life had been going. Not only did he have to deal with the tragic death of his father, but he also needed to convince you to help him make the Kims pay for their dues.
Fortunately, he was able to do this. He felt like there's a big progress in your relationship as well. His heart swelled with appreciation when you told him that you liked staying in his apartment. It's nice to feel like you were being taken care of. Hoseok was the only family member of yours (aside from Taehyung) who didn't make you feel like you were an outsider.
However, it looked like things were back to square one again. After the Board of Directors' Meeting, you became aloof. You still stayed in his home, yet he couldn't feel your presence.
You were like a ghost. You only left your room when you were sure he wasn't around.
Hoseok was rarely home these days because he was busy running a company. As expected, your brother got the position. He wasn't just the biggest shareholder of Castle Architectural Firm, he was also its newest chairperson.
Hoseok was responsible, obviously better than his father. Taemin practiced nepotism back when he was still alive, but your brother assured you and everyone in the company that he would never repeat the same mistake of his father. After all, nepotism was the sole reason why the accident in Myeong-deong happened.
Just because Soojin was his daughter, Taemin allowed her to lead a project which she clearly couldn't handle.
You thought all the Kims were the same, but you figured Namjoon wasn't like the rest of them. For the longest time, you believed that he would do anything to save his family, even if they're in the wrong. But your view of him changed the day he revealed to everyone that he knew about Hoseok being another one of Taemin's children.
Or were you wrong? Truthfully, you weren't sure. The only logical explanation you could think of as to why he would take the sibling DNA test with your eldest brother was because he wanted to help Hoseok too.
"Hey, I just got home." Your musing was abruptly cut-off when Hoseok tapped your shoulders. "My mom and I are heading out to lunch. Wanna join us?"
You cowered, too startled to see him standing inches away from you. Damn. Were you that lost in your thought to the point where you didn't hear him come in?
You were in the kitchen, preparing your own lunch before Hoseok arrived. You were planning on bringing your food inside your room because you didn't want to be around your brother.
"Next time. I already prepared my food. Thanks though." You moved away from him as you opened the microwave, taking out a slice of pizza.
Hoseok snorted. He didn't appreciate the way you're acting right now. He was tired even though he only worked half day today. All he wanted to do was to spend time with his family. His mother agreed to meet up with him because it's been a while since they last saw each other. Jiwoo was busy traveling the world. She made time for Hoseok today though. She also said she wanted to finally see you. Apparently, Hoseok always talked about you even when you still didn't know you two were siblings.
"Uh?" Your brows pinched when your brother snatched the plate of pizza away from you. "What do you think you're doing?"
You gasped and groaned as he shamelessly threw the pizza in the trash bin. You were ready to scold him, but Hoseok was already explaining his point before you could even open your mouth.
"You've been eating pizza for days now. Do you want to get sick?" His jaw clenched as he looked at you in disbelief, expressing his concern. "You can't act like this forever, sister. It's unhealthy. And for God's sake, if you have a problem with me just say it."
You scoffed at his audacity to say these things. Hoseok was acting like he didn't know why you're ignoring him.
It's impossible.
"Really?" You shook your head because of disappointment.
You never liked conflict. Fighting with the people you loved was the last thing you wanted, but Hoseok hurt your feelings.
"You lied to me." You inhaled sharply. You couldn't cry, definitely not when your brother was still acting like he was oblivious.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He even voiced out his confusion. Hoseok crossed his arms too, brows furrowed while looking at you as if you're cruel for accusing him of being untruthful.
"Please don't do this." You whined, causing him to cackle. Don't do what? You were the one being petty the past few days. Why were you acting like the problem was with him? And what's with the puppy eyes? Did you really hate misunderstanding that much?
"I haven't done anything, sister."
"Yeah you haven't—" You quickly agreed with a wince. And then you added: "—haven't told me that Namjoon-oppa knows you're our brother too."
You expected him to flinch, to look at you with soft eyes, or to say sorry for keeping it a secret, but Hoseok did none of these.
Admittedly, he barely reacted as he asked "that's it?"
You scoffed.
"Seriously?" You couldn't help it. You gawked at him too. "We're supposed to be a team here, oppa. How could you not say something about it? And...and not only that!"
You were panting because of how fast you were speaking. It's like you had suddenly exploded.
His casual reaction was what triggered you.
"You also didn't tell me that Jungkook sold his shares to you." It's not like you minded that he was now the biggest shareholder of the firm. You just couldn't accept the fact that you didn't know anything about this. Did he respect you at all?
"Yeah I didn't." He admitted so casually. Hoseok actually looked like the conversation was boring him. You didn't expect the confrontation to be like this.
Now you just felt silly.
And annoyed.
You were annoyed that he's acting like this was not a big deal.
It was.
It should be.
"You're unbelievable." You shook your head and walked out.
Hoseok caught your wrist though. He prevented you from leaving by tightening his grip on your skin.
The stare he was giving you was cold.
"I'm unbelievable?" Hoseok chuckled, low and expressionless.
You shivered, thinking that this wasn't right. You were the one who was supposed to be mad, not the other way around.
However Hoseok was determined to make you feel like this was all your fault—at least this was what you felt as he explained to you his reason.
"I'm unbelievable because I asked for help?" He threw his head back as he chuckled in a sarcastic way. "Tell me...Would you still push through with our plan if I told you Namjoon wants to help us?"
Namjoon found out about Hoseok on the day of the accident. Seokjin was tasked to look after Sin-ae and Soojin. Namjoon, on the other hand, tried to clean up the mess. He also found out that same day that Soojin was responsible for the accident.
Namjoon knew he couldn't let this go. Protecting Soojin and tolerating her wrongdoing were two different things. He was aware that correcting a mistake through another mistake would cause more harm than good.
Namjoon was clever. He knew he couldn't get rid of all evidence so he couldn't protect Soojin by sweeping the mess under the mat. It was proven to be true when he found out that Architect Jung had the original copy of the building's blueprint and other documents that were detrimental to Soojin's case.
Apparently Taemin gave Hoseok access to a safety deposit box containing important stuff related to the company. Hoseok was the only one who knew the passcode aside from his father.
Namjoon knew right there and then that the only option he had was to help Soojin surrender to the authorities. He also wouldn't want his sister to run a company when it's obvious she's not competent enough to do it.
He didn't tell Seokjin about this though. What's there to say? Namjoon didn't really ask Hoseok about his plan. He felt like he would feel less guilty if he knew less. Namjoon's only wish was fair treatment even though he knew Soojin fucked up so bad.
Hoseok agreed. He hated what Soojin had done but at the end of the day, he was still his sister. What he wanted was to simply hold Soojin accountable. It's up to the authorities to decide what to do with her. He was just a tool that would make sure she'd get what she deserved.
The litigation was still ongoing, but they had to detain Soojin. It's because all evidence pointed at her. Your sister had multiple civil and criminal cases, one being gross negligence resulting to injury and death.
"Would you allow Jungkook to sell his shares to me?" Hoseok added, his jaw setting irately.
The look you gave him was incredulous.
"Why wouldn't I allow that?"
Hoseok was offending you. There's no reason for you to stop Jungkook from doing that because if you were being honest, the act actually helped.
"You tell me." Hoseok challenged. He let go of your wrist so he could fold his arms over his chest. "You're stubborn. You hate asking people for help. I've seen you all these years, you know? I've seen you turn your back on the people who love you. Honestly I don't know what's with you and Jungkook but it doesn't take a genius to see how much you hate the idea of him offering his hand for you to grab."
There's a pregnant pause in the air. You felt attacked. Hoseok wasn't the only person who said this to you. Taehyung did too, and you hated how harsh and right they sounded.
Was this seriously your fault?
"You like to give and give and give." Hoseok wasn't done torturing you. "But you never take and then you wonder why you're miserable all the time."
He let out a deep breath.
"You know very well now why I didn't tell you the truth. This time I want you to answer my question honestly..."
He paused just to swallow thickly.
"Why do you always refuse the love Jungkook gives you? The love we give you?" Hoseok bit his lip to stop the other question from escaping his lips.
You understood it though. You knew what he wanted to ask even though he didn't voice it out: why do you accept such abuse? From Taemin? From Soojin? From your mother?
Because it's the only kind of love I know. This was the answer to his unspoken question.
"Because it's not the kind of love I know." And this was how you responded to the question he had managed to voice out.
It took you many years, decades even, to finally admit that.
You had been keeping this reason to yourself for many years because you were certain no one would understand. People longed for unconditional love and affection, meanwhile you couldn't associate these feelings to how you viewed 'love.'
What you thought love meant was pain and suffering. It's very different from the love Jungkook made you feel.
He gave you hope, sincerity, patience, and most importantly: kindness.
Jungkook was so kind that it scared you. Because what if you got used to this feeling and then suddenly it vanished?
Would you be able to handle it? Would you be able to find something like this again?
"You won't understand it, Hoseok-oppa. You won't understand that I don't want people to save me or to give me everything. I don't want anyone to fix me." You had been saying this for a while now. If you remembered it correctly, you even told this to Jungkook. You hated when he tried to get involved in your business. Love wasn't supposed to be like that for you. It's not your love language. You didn't want that heroic kind of love, the one where your partner would drop everything just to be with you.
Us against the world? It's a fairytale.
You didn't like fairy tales.
But Hoseok snickered at this.
"Why? Are you telling me you're so used to pain that you can't stomach the idea of people loving you right?"
You didn't answer.
You were pensive: was there really a standard way of loving someone right? Some people wanted this. Some people wanted that. You didn't even think you fully understood the meaning of love.
Sometimes it made you cackle when they said they loved people without any reason. But then you also furrowed your brow and let out a puff of air when people said they fell in love with the sound of someone's smile, or the way their eyes lit up.
"I know I don't have the right to interfere. It's your life but I care for you and I want you to find happiness. You don't have to be scared anymore, you know? It's over."
He was saying that the pain was over. Soojin and her family couldn't hurt you any longer. Your father had been absolved from the criminal responsibility too.
Justice was being served.
You could rest now. You could finally think about yourself without feeling guilty all the time.
None of these was your fault. You have done your best to help.
Hoseok pulled you into an embrace. You didn't squirm against him.
"Promise me you'll talk to him, okay?"
The right thing to do was to agree, so you did by nodding your head and hugging him back.
Tumblr media
Hoseok ended up convincing you to join him and his mother for lunch. Surprisingly, it went well. Jiwoo was sweet and soft. She's nothing like Sin-ae.
"You wanna join us for some ice cream, love?" Jiwoo asked you after lunch. She said she knew this certain ice cream parlor that sold the best mint chocolate ice cream. It's their family's go-to dessert shop ever since Hoseok was a little boy.
"Oh, I'd love to but I actually have somewhere else to be." You smiled apologetically.
Jiwoo said it's a shame but that she understood. Your brother wasn't buying your excuse though. He felt like you'd just go home and lock yourself in your room. You tended to do that after a really good day. It's a defense of yours. You were protecting your heart because every time something good happened to you, bad news would follow right after.
"Where?" Hoseok lifted an eyebrow.
"Uh..." You paused, contemplating whether to tell him the truth or not. In the end, you chose to give him a vague answer. Not a lie, but not the truth either.
"I'm just going to meet someone."
Your brother's face lit up, thinking that you were referring to Jungkook. You knew this, but didn't bother to correct him despite having zero intentions of meeting up with your best friend.
"Take care, sweetheart. Don't mind your brother, he’s just being protective. But be safe, okay?" Hoseok's mom engulfed you into a hug.
It warmed your heart. This was your first time seeing her and yet you already felt comfortable. You wished she's your mom, which to be honest, was a terrible thing to say, especially when you're on your way to visit your real mother.
It was an impulsive decision. Years ago, you swore to yourself that you would never contact your mother even if you missed her terribly. This was what your therapist recommended too, saying that you couldn't keep seeing those people who hurt you.
It's easier said than done. Having lunch with Hoseok and his mother caused a pang in your chest. The longing you felt was so intense you're convinced you'd end up having a heart attack if you didn't see your mother.
See.
You promised yourself you'd just ‘see’ her. Just a glimpse was enough. You even wore the hoodie of your jacket. You didn't want her to recognize you. You'd just observe from afar.
You doubted she remembered you. It's been what? More than a decade? Since the last time you saw her? You grew up. You were no longer the teenager who cried and begged the grownups to let you be with your mother.
The tears had dried and the shaking had stopped.
Or so you thought.
It was a shiver at first, and then your body trembled when you saw her nodding her head as she listened to the stranger speaking.
Yunhae. This was the name of the stranger. She was an addict trying to get better. Your mother and the rest of the group listened to Yunhae's story, some of them looked at her with sympathy, some of them remained impassive—like they had heard this same story a thousand times before and watched it all go down the drain.
In the end, they'd relapse. Just one taste, one sniff, one feel...and then they'd fall down the rabbit hole.
Your mother's eyes made you release a breath though. She wasn't staring at Yunhae like she'd disappoint her.
Hope. This was what you could see in your mother's eyes, however you realized that she wasn't really looking at Yunhae.
She was looking at you.
You panicked as you instantly turned away from her. She wasn't supposed to see you. She wasn't supposed to remember your face.
You were a fool for thinking this way. No mother could ever forget their child's face.
She was certain it was you even though you didn't turn around when she called your name.
You walked faster, desperate to leave the room. Sadly your mother didn't have a plan to let you go.
She ran after you, grabbing your wrist which forced you to look at her.
She called your name again. This time, uncertain. She examined your face, as if she'd get a perfect mark by staring at your eyes. The same eyes that used to look at her with so much love.
Your eyes were still soft, but she couldn't feel the sparks.
"It's me..." You finally admitted the truth when she caressed your face with quivering hands. Tears filled her eyes.
It's you.
"You're here..." And you're really here.
Was she dreaming?
"Yeah, but I need—"
"Can we talk?" She cut you off, afraid to hear you say you couldn't stand to see her face anymore. She thought you hated her and frankly, she couldn't blame you.
Hate was a strong word, but if you felt this way, she was sure it's warranted.
"Please." She begged and just like before, you gave in.
You were still weak when it came to her.
"Thank you. C-Can you wait for a second? I...I just need to—"
"Go ahead." You interjected because it's obvious she's panicking. You realized she wasn't sure how to tell you what she had to do first.
"I'll be right back." She promised before going back to her circle. Yunhae was still talking. Your mother felt bad for leaving them and asking Yoon-sung, one of the members of the group, to take the lead, but they could manage without her.
This was probably the only chance she had with you. She couldn't mess this up.
"Let's go?" Your mother smiled at you. You didn't show any sign of displeasure so she started walking as you followed her out.
Your mother brought you to the garden of the church building. You still found it hard to believe that your mother spent most of her time inside the church, but oh well. It's not like she had a choice. CA meetings were usually held in this kind of place.
From what you had heard, your mother was actually leading the CA meeting. She went from being a junkie to a respected leader.
She had come a long way.
You could see she's proud of it too.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I can't leave them without a substitute." She smiled apologetically at you.
You folded your arms over your chest.
"I know. That's why you entrusted the group to your boyfriend, right?" You refused to look at your mother. It wasn't because you didn't approve of her choice in men, but you couldn't help but be wary.
"You know about Yoon-sung?" She was flustered.
Your lips curled up. Who wouldn't have thought that you would see your mother like this? Back when you were a child, you thought she wasn't capable of feeling other emotions aside from anger and frustration.
"No, but it doesn't take a genius to know. He kissed your cheek and looked at you like—" You abruptly stopped upon realizing what you're about to spill:
He looked at you like the way Jungkook looked at me.
Your mother noticed the way you froze, but she knew better than to ask. You weren't comfortable around each other yet. She had no business teasing you or prying information out of you.
"I see. I thought Jungkook told you about Sung and I..."
You whipped your head back at her. What did she say? Did she just mention your best friend's name?
Your mother confirmed it.
"Jungkook knows about my relationship with Sung. He used to t—" But she stopped speaking when she saw confusion painting your face.
Realization hit her.
"You didn't know."
Damn right you didn't. Jungkook never told you he went to visit your mother.
"Since when?" Your jaw ticked. You weren't mad, just...baffled. Why didn't he tell you?
"S-Since you were sixteen." She gulped while you sucked in a deep breath. "He visited me while I was still in rehab...and then in prison...and then...here."
Your mother had been through a lot. Your best friend somewhat helped her through it all. But if Jungkook was being honest, he'd say that the only reason he visited your mom was because of you.
He knew how important your mother was to you. He simply wanted to make sure she was doing okay so as not to worry you. Jungkook also asked her how to help you. He was certain that some things were difficult for you.
You barely ate and slept the first few months you had been separated with your mother. Jungkook wanted to learn how to soothe you. He was aware that despite all the pain your mom had brought you, she was still the only one who knew you well.
She knew the right way to brush your hair when you're trying to go back to sleep after waking up from a nightmare, she knew the words to say to manipulate you into doing what she liked. Jungkook wanted to learn this, but not to manipulate you but to make you feel at ease.
It hurt seeing you cry. It hurt seeing you suffering. He wished he could take away your pain.
"He told me all about you. I know I don't deserve it but it's the only thing that kept me sane. Thinking that at least you're...living your life out there."
There was a lump in your throat. Had you really been living? What were the things Jungkook told her? You wouldn't know if he lied to make your mother feel better because when you were with Jungkook, you were the happiest. Maybe he saw it too. He saw how your world brightened because of his presence.
"He's a good kid. Jungkook..." Your mother wiped her tears you didn't even realize were falling. "He did the things I was supposed to do. He made you happy, he loved you, and he took care of you..."
You could see gratefulness dancing in her face. This was the first time you had seen your mother look this way. She looked happy and content. She glowed.
"I owe him one."
This information pained you. Jungkook helped you and you appreciated and hated that. How could he think about you when he was hurting too? His father died shortly after you were separated from your mom.
He offered you support and you didn’t even bother to ask him if he was okay.
Why was he like that? Why did he love you so much?
This very moment made you realize that just like your mother, you owed something to Jungkook as well.
"Yeah. Me too..." And so you found yourself saying it too. It's the truth. Jungkook had helped you in ways you couldn't even imagine.
You didn't know it but the only reason Jungkook sold his shares to Hoseok was because he didn't want to compete with you. Admittedly, he even sold the shares below the fair market value. He sold it at cost, but not because he was dumb.
He just told your brother this: "I didn't lose, sunbaenim. I won. That's just money, but what you're gonna give her is your support. Promise me you'll take care of her, that you will not betray her."
You said you didn't want him to help you so he did it indirectly. Hoseok helped him help you.
"Will I see you again?" Your mother asked after a few moments of silence. You two talked about small things for the past thirty minutes.
You already considered this a long time, especially because you still didn't trust her. You didn't have any more stories to share. You ran out of topics for small talk.
You told her your father died though, but apparently, she already knew. It's all over the news anyway.
"Uh, I'm not sure..." You winced.
You had been working home for the past weeks. You knew your boss only allowed this because you were still grieving, but it's time to go back to reality again.
"I'm thinking about flying back to New York next week." You didn't know why it hurt to say this. A part of you was begging you to stay.
"You're thinking about it..." She repeated thoughtfully, as if processing your words.
You could only nod.
"That means you're still undecided."
Were you?
Yes, you were. Because if you had made up your mind already, then why were you still here? You were finished with your job here. There's no reason for you to still stay.
Right?
"Listen, I know I'm pushing my luck here, but do you...want my advice?"
It's strange...to hear this coming from here. People who knew the real relationship you had with your mother would probably laugh if they hear her saying this.
Since when did she care about you? Since when did she care about the decision you're struggling to make?
Could it be that she really changed? Was the past decade really enough to change a person?
You guessed so—this was what you thought as you remained frozen, waiting for her to say something that might change your mind.
She did.
She said something that made your heart painfully twist in your chest, a harsh reminder of why you were alive and why you got hurt in the first place.
She did something she wasn't supposed to do, and now she wished you wouldn't make the same mistake too.
You had the advantage.
Your mother smiled—warm and gentle—as she said: "Don't throw away the love you can freely have. Some of us aren't given that choice."

House Isekai: A Realm Reborn - Part 1, Old Places and New Faces (2 of 2)
House Isekai ARR Masterlist Here
Tumblr media
Upon their return to Fodlan, Kazuma, Rean, Towa, and Aigis have found that it has changed drastically. Whether it was for better or worse, was unknown.
After reuniting Sitri and meeting the second generation of Garreg Mach students, the four make their way once more into the Zanado Tower...
Class VII pressed onwards as they looked at the environment constantly shifting around them.
Colossal platforms flew past them with lights flickering to life.
Altina struggled to process it all, so much information was flowing in at once.
Kurt tried his best to ignore the fantastical sights around him and tried to find an exit.
All he found were several crates with notes scattered on them and massive doorways.
Many of the platforms moved higher up into the room, but he had no idea where that would lead, so he avoided them.
(Juna) "K-Kurt? Do we know where we're going?"
(Kurt) "N-...No."
(Ash) "It'll probably be fine. Rean went through here right?"
(Musse) "Maybe? Where is everyone?"
(Altina) "...I seem to detect life forms?"
(Kurt) "Friendly?"
(Altina) "Unknown. None match Instru-...Hold on a moment."
(Everyone) ?
(Altina) "I am sensing Instructor Rean's presence. It is near the very top of this...building?"
(Musse) "Hm...I'm worried about the other ones."
(Juna) "Same here. We all got our weapons right?"
Class VII nodded and drew their weapons, keeping it at the ready.
(Juna) "Whew, least we're not totally unprepared."
"ALERT! ALERT!"
The five of them quickly moved closer together, looking around the area and trying to find the voice.
"THREAT DETECTED, UNKNOWN SIGNATURES DETECTED, ENGAGING SECURITY MEASURES."
(Kurt) "Is...it talking about us?"
(Ash) "If it is, then we better shut up and get out of here."

Sitri and the others stepped into Tower and heard the alert blare throughout the area.
(Kazuma) "The hell?"
Aigis turned back and looked at the Garreg Mach students and frowning.
(Aigis) "Is it detecting us?"
(Helena) "Considering this is our first time here, probably."
(Kairos) "W-WHAT IN THE WORLD?!"
(Elizabeth) "What is this place?!"
(Astrid) "It's so...bright!"
(Stefan) "Yeah, the glowing crystals are kinda hurting my eyes..."
(Sitri) "This is the Zanado Tower. It's where House Isekai came from, what I can understand anyway."
(Helena) "That the truth?"
Helena turned to the four.
(Towa) "We think so?"
(Rean) "Honestly, the details are a bit lost on us as well."
(Kazuma) "The only person that knew that much was Sothis and Byleth and..."
Their faces showed a hint of sadness before Elizabeth brought up another question, not noticing their shift when mentioning Byleth.
(Elizabeth) "S-So, this is where that creature was sighted? How do we even begin covering this large of an area with our small number?"
(Sitri) "W-Well...Um..."
KABOOM!
(Everyone) !?
(Rean) "Think that's our culprit?"
(Towa) "I can't think of anyone else that could be here!"
(Sitri) "Everyone, move out!"
...
Tumblr media
(Buck) "Ach, damn it!"
Buck waved away the smoke that was covering the area.
(Mickey) "H-Hey, at least we got the door open, right? Even if it was a little too much."
(Dutch) "Doubt using 7 explosive charges is considered "a little"."
The massive door in front of them was completely blown into pieces, the debris scattering everywhere, and some falling into the cavern beneath them.
Romeo checked the scope of his sniper and put one finger on the trigger.
(Mickey) "If that alert was about us, then it's going to get even more pissed off."
(Dutch) "Every security system must know where we're at now."
(Buck) "All the more reason to get our asses moving, now-"
Buck turned back to the hole in the door before noticing something on his visor.
The motion tracker was detecting several things coming to them, and he quickly motioned backwards to the cover they were using from the door breach.
Everyone got their weapons pointed at the door waiting for them.
(Buck) "On my mark..."
From the smoke, several figures emerged wielding all sorts of weapons ranging from swords to bows.
And it was then the squad's visors picked up the outline of them, they were human.
(Buck) "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
...
Amber kept her bow trained on the four hiding behind cover, waiting for instruction.
(Duvalie) "They're human...I think?"
(Kaeya) "Never seen that armor before."
(Lisa) "Jean, dear?"
(Jean) "Who are you all?"
Her eyes drifted to the massive hole behind them. How could they have caused an explosion that big?
If she said the wrong thing, they could be killed.
(Buck) "Sergeant Gunnery Buck, and this is my squad! UNSC, Helljumpers! How 'bout you miss, we on the same side?"
(Jean) "My name is Jean, of the Knights of Favonius!"
Buck looked at his other squadmates and they shrugged.
(Buck) "You folks happen to know where we are?"
(Jean) "I'm afraid we do not. But we are allies, not enemies if that is what you're wondering."
Romeo examined every one of them as Buck was speaking to them. They didn't seem to be dressed for battle. In fact, the green one that looked like a girl had a damn instrument, not a weapon.
And the purple woman with the witch hat only had a book.
(Mickey) "Frankly, I say we don't take the chance."
(Dutch) "Yeah, great idea, kill the only things that HASN'T tried to kill us."
(Buck) "Alright. We believe ya. Stand down."
The squad nodded and stood up, the Knights of Favonius stepping forward.
(Jean) "I think it's plain to see we're...both out of our element."
(Buck) "Seems like it. As I said, call me Buck, and these are my men."
(Mickey) "Mickey."
(Dutch) "Name's Dutch. Pleasure."
(Romeo) "..."
Buck's visor became see-through, his face being visible as he turned to face Romeo.
(Buck) "What's the matter? Helmet turned off?"
Romeo shrugged.
(Venti) "Um, is he okay?"
(Buck) "Oh, I get it. Permission to speak. Smartass."
(Romeo) "Name's Romeo, ladies."
He turned to face Jean, Lisa, Duvalie and Amber.
Rolling her eyes, Duvalie butted into the conversation.
(Duvalie) "Ugh, keep it to yourself. Anyways, I'm Duvalie, head knight of the Stahlritter."
(Mickey) "Thought you were with the...whatever you guys were called."
(Kaeya) "Favonius. Actually, she's from another world, as I'm assuming you all are. Kaeya, by the way."
Buck examined their clothing again and when he started to think on it, no human from their world, no matter the planet, would wear something so outlandish as that, especially in the middle of a war.
(Diluc) "...Diluc."
(Venti) "I'm Venti!"
(Amber) "Amber, hope we get along!"
(Lisa) "And I'm Lisa. All of us except Duvalie are together."
(Romeo) "Before we get caught in a never ending cycle of introductions, can we get the hell out of here before anymore of those things show up?"
(Jean) "You've seen them too?"
(Buck) "Weird glowy blue gnome looking things?"
(Duvalie) "The hell is a gnome?"
(Lisa) "Let's put it this way to make sure we're on the same page, were they carrying a staff and rather short?"
(Dutch) "Those are the ones, ma'am."
(Diluc) "Abyss mages are attacking them too..."
(Kaeya) "Think Romeo had a point, we'll discuss this once we're in relative safety, we were nearing the exit I believe, before you all blew a hole through that door."
(Mickey) "Hey, we had to get in somehow!"
(Buck) "Hold up, we weren't going to leave just yet. There was a group of kids that was making their way upwards."
(Amber) "Kids? We didn't see anyone else on the way."
(Romeo) "Oh, right. They just got here. I'm all for saving them, but we barely managed to get away from those mage things. Our bullets didn't seem to do anything."
Jean held her rapier and nodded.
(Jean) "Allow us to take care of it with you. Change of plans, we're headed back in."
She stood next to Buck as he darkened his visor and checked his assault rifle.
(Buck) "After you, miss Jean."
...
Rean was the first one through the hole in the door and looked around, no one appeared to be there.
Everyone else stepped forward weapons drawn, and it was now Rean noticed what everyone was carrying.
Sitri had the Sword of the Creator, Kairos and Elizabeth had spellbooks, Helena had a knife, Astrid held a lance, and Stefan wielded an axe.
The students appeared to have no hesitation about their weapon of choice, but Sitri was slightly trembling.
It was clear she had done some training with a sword, and yet...
He shook his head, now wasn't the time to be focusing on that.
(Aigis) "I am detecting several lifeforms down below."
Aigis turned to her right and looked at the glowing circle-like shape at the end of the walkway.
(Towa) "Anyone familiar?"
(Aigis) "...Negative."
(Kazuma) "Then let's get down there, maybe the little shits that caused this are close by, considering how recent that explosion was."
(Sitri) "Right, let's try to find a way down."
Sitri and the Garreg Mach students stepped near the circular platform while the former House Isekai members examined the explosion hole.
(Aigis) "These explosions appear to be made from devices similar to C4..."
(Kazuma) "What, these guys packing modern day weapons too?"
(Rean) "What's C4?"
(Aigis) "Small explosive charges that you can put on virtually any surface."
(Towa) "Something that small can cause that much damage?!"
Meanwhile, Elizabeth was examining the glowing circular platform with the other students and Sitri close to her.
(Helena) "What is it?
(Elizabeth) "I'm not sure...Maybe it's some kind of-"
Elizabeth put her hand on the platform, which made it glow an even brighter orange as it catapulted the group forward to the other walkway, causing them to scream.
Rean and the others turned their direction and saw them land on a platform which began to move away.
(Kazuma) "AW SHIT, SITRI!"
(Towa) "THE STUDENTS!"
(Rean) "After them!"
Before they could move any further, they heard strange noises behind them, which made them draw their weapons...
...
When Kairos got up and saw the moving platform, he immediately turned to Elizabeth.
(Kairos) "GREAT JOB, YOU IDIOT!"
(Elizabeth) "D-Don't you yell at me with that tone! How was I supposed to know that-"
(Helena) "Both of you shut up. Focus."
She held onto her knife tighter as she realized the platform was heading downwards.
(Sitri) "Is everyone alright?"
(Astrid) "Just fine, Lady Sitri. Can't say we'll be that way for long.
(Stefan) "We're going deeper into the tower, is that a bad thing?"
(Sitri) "This is my first time in the Tower when it wasn't being controlled by memories, so I'm not sure..."
(Kairos) "Fantastic..."
Elizabeth had a mind to slap Kairos but kept it to herself, instead examining just how far down they were going...
...
Class VII moved even quicker after hearing the explosion, trying to find anything resembling stairs since they were unsure about the elevators.
(Musse) "I don't think we have any other way up."
(Juna) "Maybe we can-"
BOOM! BOOM!
Two gunshots roared through the area, with a thud echoing and signaling that someone or something was brutally killed.
Kurt motioned forward and Class VII turned the corner to see a massive man clad in yellow armor, towering over some strange creature.
It was short, fat, and blue. It was uttering some language they didn't understand before the soldier stomped on its head, crushing it.
Class VII drew their weapons and the yellow soldier turned to face them.
(Yellow Soldier) "...Children?"
The soldier eyed them up and down, trying to identify them as Class VII did the same.
The armor he was wearing looked heavy and durable, being wide as some of the doorways they passed through. He stood at around 8 feet, holding a rifle as big as his chest.
(Kurt) "...What was that thing you killed?"
The soldier turned to the creature and shrugged, the shoulder pauldrons moving up and down was the only indication he did so since his armor was so massive.
(Yellow Soldier) "Most likely some form of xenos. It opened fire as soon as it saw me, so I purged it. Better I have done so since children are in the area."
He turned to face them.
(Yellow Soldier) "Though you are far from defenseless it seems."
Kurt didn't put away his weapons, and neither did anyone else.
(Yellow Soldier) "...I am Raelyn. Raelyn Amuto, Adeptus Astartes."
(Juna) "You're a...what now?"
(Altina) "Does not match any known organization in Erebonia."
(Musse) "Not ringing a bell for me either..."
(Raelyn) "...You are?"
(Kurt) "We are Class VII, part of Thor's Military Academy, Branch Campus."
Raelyn lowered his rifle, the helmet's unblinking lenses seemingly staring straight into them.
(Raelyn) "We are Space Marines, mankind's greatest warriors."
(Ash) "Evidently."
(Raelyn) "Do you know the area I am in?"
(Kurt) "Not a clue. We were following our Instructor to find out where he went, and we ended up here."
(Raelyn) "Hmph. Stay behind me. I do not know what awaits us-"
He stuck a hand outwards as he noticed a platform moving downwards. Everyone readied their weapons again, and keeping it on them seeing another group land in front of them.
(Buck) "Hey, those are the kids! And...!"
(Kaeya) "Looks like they already met one of the Abyss mages."
(Mickey) "Goddamn, that is some armor!"
(Raelyn) "Guardsmen? And..."
He lowered his weapon, though Class VII didn't.
(Jean) "Before you ask, we are not enemies, and we are just as lost as you all."
Dutch turned to the knights and noticed Duvalie had her sword still up.
(Dutch) "What's the deal with her?"
(Venti) "Huh? Duvalie what's wrong-"
(Duvalie) "THOSE BRATS, THAT'S WHATS WRONG!"
(Altina) "Threat detected."
Class VII and Duvalie stood off against each other.
(Raelyn) "...It's safe to assume you are acquainted then."
(Kurt) "She tried to kill our class, our instructor and HIS class."
Jean frowned and turned to her.
(Jean) "You told me you were a knight of justice."
(Duvalie) "I-I am!"
(Buck) "Everyone, stand down! This pissing match is only going to slow us down!"
Buck saw the corpse of the Abyss Mage and sighed.
(Buck) "And it's clear you've already met the things trying to kill all of us. I don't know your histories, but that doesn't matter for right now! Let's get out of here and THEN you all can-"
Another platform landed behind Buck, making everyone turn around.
(Sitri) "U-Um...!"
(Helena) "Oh crap."
(Kairos) "I swear to the Goddess, Elizabeth-"
(Elizabeth) "WILL YOU SHUT UP?!"
Stefan gulped and adjusted his helmet.
(Astrid) "Uh...hi?"
(Everyone) ...
(Amber) "Hello!"
(Romeo) "For god's sake-."
(Juna) "Just how many of us are lost down here?!"
(Sitri) "Um..."
Sitri took a deep breath and tried her best to look confident.
(Sitri) "My name is Sitri, leader of Garreg Mach, and you're in our world. If you want answers, please come with us."
The students stared at her as if she were crazy.
(Kairos) "What?!"
(Elizabeth) "Look how many of them are here, I don't like these offworlders any more than you do, but we need to NOT piss them off, as you are very much pissing me off!"
(Helena) "You're not doing much better yourself-"
(Stefan) "H-Helena please that is NOT helping!"
(Astrid) "ANYWAYS! You want answers, we got it! Please let's just get out of here!"
Everyone looked at each other.
There was an awkward silence before Raelyn stepped forward first.
(Raelyn) "Very well, Sitri. Lead the way."
(Sitri) "Well um... we don't know the way up."
Jean motioned everyone to her, and they all stood together as the platform's lights pulsated quietly.
They sheathed their weapons and quietly looked out in front of them, staring at the massive crystal in the middle of the room.
Just where was this, and why were they brought here?
What were those creatures attacking everyone?
And what is Garreg Mach?
Hopefully soon, they would have answers to all these questions, and find a way back home...
...
...
...
(Altina) "...We are not moving."
(Duvalie) "Gee, I couldn't tell."
(Lisa) "Dears, what's the holdup?"
(Stefan) "D-Don't look at us!"
(Raelyn) "Are there too many on top of this?"
(Buck) "Dutch, the button?"
(Dutch) "Oh, sorry."
Beep!
...
Aigis blocked an ice spike that was aimed at Towa with her Persona, Athena easily blocking it with her shield.
Towa took another potshot with her pistol, but it was stopped by some icy aura surrounding the Abyss Mage as it danced along, taunting them.
Rean and Kazuma swung their weapons at it, but were deflected and sent flying back.
(Aigis) "None of our attacks are working!"
(Towa) "W-What do we do?!"
(Kazuma) "Do we hit it harder?"
(Rean) "Heed my call...!-"
Whirrrrrrr...!
(Everyone) !
Everyone, including the Abyss Mage, looked back to the walkway and saw a platform that carried a large amount of people unload, everyone drawing their weapons.
(Altina) "Instructor!"
(Rean) "What in the-What are you all-"
(Buck) "There's those sons of bitches!"
(Raelyn) "PURGE IT IN THE EMPEROR'S NAME!"
The Abyss Mage screamed in terror as those with guns opened fire, it quickly teleporting away from the massive group.
(Diluc) "Damn it, it got away!"
(Aigis) "...No other presence detected besides us. It appears we are safe for now."
(Kazuma) "Tch, wanted to show that asshole a thing or two, now...'
The four looked at the group and to Sitri. Towa and Reans' eyes were glued to Duvalie, her taking notice as well.
(Aigis) "...Are these friends?"
(Jean) "I hope we can be."
(Kairos) "They better."
(Rean) "Uh..."
(Duvalie) "NOT. A WORD."
Sitri took a step back as everyone scattered to their respective group.
Duvalie stood with the ODST's and Raelyn while the Knights of Favonius stood by themselves.
Class VII followed Rean and Towa, as the students of Garreg Mach got near Sitri and each other.
(Kaeya) "Quite the odd group we have lined up."
(Buck) "I can't help but feel like we're out of place."
(Raelyn) "Agreed..."
(Duvalie) "Of all the people, it had to be YOU."
(Rean) "G-Great to see you too, Duvalie."
Sitri trembled slightly before feeling a hand on her shoulder. Turning behind her, she saw Sothis smiling.
(Sothis) "Don't worry. I've seen this happen before, and I know what can get them together real quick."
Kazuma noticed Sothis talking to Sitri, but considering how on edge everyone was, he decided not to say anything.
(Kazuma) Please have a good idea, Sothis...
(Sitri) "I-If I could have everyone's attention!"
Everyone turned to face her, which made Sitri silent for a moment, but after putting her hand on her chest, she looked more determined than ever.
(Sitri) "I know everyone is terribly confused on where they are and what's happening. I do not have the answers myself, but I assure you, we will."
(Astrid) "We?"
(Sitri) "Yes. With the arrival of so many newcomers from other worlds, and with veterans of this situation being here..."
She nodded again and looked at everyone.
(Sitri) "As leader of Garreg Mach Monastery, I hereby reestablish, House Isekai!"
(Aigis) "Oh?"
(Rean and Towa) "HUH?!"
(Kazuma) "THE FUCK?"
(Buck) "...The hell's an Isekai?"
His squad, Duvalie, and Raelyn shrugged.
(Kurt) "Has...Instructor Rean and Towa done this before?"
Class VII looked at Rean, then back to Sitri.
Jean nodded.
(Jean) "It seems this is not their first time being visited by people from other worlds."
(Diluc) "Hmph, I blame the Traveler for this."
All things considered, the Knights of Favonius looked relatively calm about the situation.
The students of Garreg Mach all had mixed opinions. They didn't view House Isekai in a very good light, but now they HAD to be a part of it.
(Kairos) "This is not going to end well..."
(Elizabeth) "Oh dear."
(Helena) "This oughtta be interesting."
(Stefan) "Hah, that's one way to put it..."
(Astrid) "Goddess help us..."
...
(Sitri's voice) "...I hereby reestablish, House Isekai!"
Mercedes smiled as she heard Sitri's voice through her crystal and put it into her pocket and stretched.
Through the door, a small girl and a fairy came into the room.
(Recette) "Hey Mercie! We got the reports from this month in!"
(Tear) "Yes, it appears to be within...why are you smiling?"
(Mercedes) "I've just been listening into Sitri's progress."
(Recette) "What's going on?"
