So this post was originally something entirely different for an entirely different fandom but I'm rewriting it now as what I really want to talking about.

It's a fucking. WALTZ.

The Soriku side of the fandom has picked this song to bits, having the game featuring the two main characters who have one of the strongest bonds in the series and having their theme for the game where they're together be a waltz is just a perfect hint towards their possible romantic relationship together.

Frankly, I think that's just beautiful, and if we ever get another kh game where we play both Riku and Sora, I'd love to see the DB call back to this song in some way. I also like how it's most magical, dreamlike. It fits DREAM drop distance.

I dunno, I love this song so much. It's definitely not my favorite Dearly Beloved (save me days/com/mom/kh2 db... save me) but it's up there. Then again ranking the Dearly Beloveds is a task no one should even try to do because they're all just so damn good. Yoko please come back for kh4, DBs aren't the same without you.

favorite thing about them:

i love the tragedy of his story arc... that feels like a weird thing to say but its the first thing that came to mind! just. look. the road to hell paved with good intentions bit taken to the extreme really works here!!! the idea that he remembered the name of every person he ever killed because he was under the impression he could bring them all back, only to have the rug pulled from under him? hurts me! in the best way!!!

other than that i do enjoy his design, both romeo himself and the bed :] i wanna give my bedman cosplay another try sometime for sure, it didnt work out for various reasons but i have most of the components and would enjoy cosplaying him fr in the future

i think i dont really dislike anything about the way bedman is written in the source material strongly enough to point it out here? i think my main gripe is the way the fandom treats him to either extreme, like theres "bedman did nothing wrong ever" people and "bedman is horrific" people and i wish both camps would chill out and recognize hes like. a complex character? but i do think most people do this already which i can appreciate

not entirely certain i have one? i think the "bedman while flawed is not actually a terrible person and was doing his best given his extremely fucked up circumstances" is a pretty cool take by this point for most people

i think the only thing i have is that my interpretation of bedman has always been as like a young adult rather than a kid but like i dont really have a concrete opinion on that and i totally understand people who do see him as a kid like its entirely understandable to do so

1. Alter Ego

Only thing that may withstand WAVE sweep. I love this cover so much you don't understand. The power in their voices contrasting with how Miku almost sounds... Dead I suppose? Which works well considering it's Alter Ego. Like Misumi's og version is good but VBS version is also good and they're so different despite being the same song gahhhh I love it. my only wish was that Kohane also got an alt. I have (?) talked about how much I love Kashika before it doesn't need repeating. It's Kashika. Still the best comm ever.

Kick It Up A Notch will forever be famous to me it's what took me from "yeah Kohane is my fav character in this game" (Awakening Beat's fault) to "Kohane has reached a level of beloved only one other character has ever achieved" that solo song was life changing. And Hitsuji Ga Ippiki is equally life changing definitely a song to listen to on loop.

4. Ultra C

Recency bias be damned because I am also Kohane biased lmao. This was the perfect song to round off the RAD Weekend stuff with. Giga/Teddyloid/Reol commission was also the right call 100% idc what people think OVER RAD SQUAD!! was an almost perfect event for how they have taken VBS's story in my eyes.

5. Rekka

This could have also been Beyond The Way. Or Unaware Drunkard. Or Marshall Maximizer. Or YY. Or Odo or Shanti or Gekokujou or any other Akito comm or Beat Eater or any of their covers since Egoist or Children Record or Devil's Manner or Daybreak Frontline or Imperial Girl. What I'm saying is that I like VBS covers and commissions and choosing a top five gets hard because the top 4 are (more or less) set in stone so ???? I'm super excited for Bug on global today but something else caught my attention.

The new An event on jp.

FUCK this event is being an absolute gut punch

Just... man I didn't expect the saddest event so far this year to come from Vivid Bad Squad and specially from An.

But... OUCH.

An, one of the most positive and cheerful characters of the entire game, suffering like that it's absolutely heartwrenching!! Someone that she held dear and idolized for her entire life and even wished to perform in the same stage (btw Nagi shared this same wish with her 😍) being revealed deceased and that pivotal info being deliberately hidden away by the same street/town that she considered her home and family is just painstaking!!!

And don't forget that our super helpful king Taiga(all of this is /s) saying that she and her squad mates can't achieve their dreams of surpassing Rad Weekend and later crushing them in a show off(?) (I still don't know what when people just sing for competition is called) and revealing the whole tragedy with Nagi after the fact.

Honestly after all of this, no wonder what that npc said about An starting to loathe/hate Vivid Street after she knew about the truth about Nagi's situation being (probably) real now given Gekokujou/Downhill 's chorus is An how she hates (what I assume) Vivid Street for keeping Nagi's death a secret from her.

(That's extra hurtful when Machi was about how she loves/loved Vivid Street and considering it her family and home and being a super feel-good bright song and suddenly her next focus comission being all dark and hateful is just GAHHHH)

i do like to cook! it's one of the few things i'm good at lol! my favorite is japanese cuisine (esp rice bowls and chirashisuhsi), but with the drought in california (the us's main sushi rice supply source) it's been so difficult/expensive to get any and you kinda need rice to make most japanese dishes lol? so i've been making italian food instead (and it shows in the way my clothes fit tighter 😩). not so much into baking, but i will sometimes.

bruh. all my life, i've had crazy ass dreams. and i remember a lot of them. probably the most vivid/profound was one i had 15+ years ago. i was a little girl (in the dream; i can't remember if i was late teens or early 20s irl) and there were 2 snakes: one red, one black and they were kinda wrapped around each other? they were HUGE but i wasn't scared of them. in fact, i was sliding down their backs, laughing and having a good time. i got the sense that they were protecting me? i came to learn much later on that what i dreamed about was a double ouroboros, which looks like this and is a very powerful symbol with several meanings:
