i need to get better at corpo interviews but the thing is i suck at lying and i can't convincingly say that i want to work for any of them. and i do not want to work in this shitty corporate field i made the mistake to enter.

and i'm too poor and too uneducated to just go to college or anything similar.

This is something I've been teasing for a bit. Finally got around to editing it, and now I have a lot more free time, but no promises on an update schedule. Whenever I do one of those, nothing gets finished. Hopefully the lack of a deadline makes me work at a better pace.

But yeah, enjoy! The "Writer" part of my bio is now applicable. I'm very happy about that.

Word of advice to all my fellow artsy/creative people who consider studying/learning Graphic Design: Please don't.

Most likely, it will be a trap. Unless you are really REALLY sure you want to do it. I strongly advice you to try it out first (internship or whatever to see what it’s really like). It's not as creative as it sounds, especially when you are not enthusiastic about printed products and making logos, business cards and stationery). In my 10 years of actual working I spent 1 year kind of liking graphic design, 4 years being drained by it and then hating it, and after that I switched to UI/UX Design - and I’m so much happier with it.

I just recently had to dip my toes back into to graphic design and I'm, once again reminded why I hate it and why I fled this job. Uh...

So, our graphic designer, who completely sucked, quit. Right before a big exhibit opening. I got stuck trying to do graphic design. The graphic designer makes waaaay more than me, but I wanted this exhibit to be successful. Did I get a thank you? No. Any hints of compensation? No. Did they immediately ask my supervisor afterwards if I could pick up the backlog of graphic design & do it? They did. Did they offer compensation. No.

You see, kids, hard work & stepping up gets you NOTHING but more work.

I told him absolutely not, unless they want to supplement my pay. I am hurting right now in the $$$ department. I absolutely refuse to continue to do work above my pay grade when they already refuse to pay me what people in my field make. They underpay me by $5 an hour already. Now they want me to do the work of someone that makes 60 grand on a 30 grand salary. Hilarious.

And if they decide to try it anyway...yeah, you are going to get what you pay for.

Also, it's not like I don't have other deadlines to meet. For MY position.
