A little rant about Lucas and how he’s treated in the fandom.

Okay so this is not what I usually post/talk about but this needs to be said. I’m tired of seeing Lucas slander and how he’s treated in this fandom.

First of all, people say racist things about him and hate him only because he’s a black. People hate how he was mean to Eleven back in season one. But he was having common sense because Eleven was some random girl that they found in the woods. Eleven could’ve hurt them which was why he was cautious about her. They both end up making up and becoming friends but people like to ignore that and love to make Lucas the villain in the situation. Yes, I do agree that he could’ve been nicer to Eleven and still be cautious but that’s besides the point.

Second of all, people don’t like him because he joined basketball and left the party for a bit. People like to ignore that fact that the reason Lucas joined is to protect himself from being bullied and find his new self. They talk about this in his book Lucas on the Line in a lot more detailed way. He also wanted Mike and Dustin to be popular with him too so they all won’t get bullied. Obviously that didn’t work out and he ended up going back to the party. But people still hate on the fact that he left in the first place. People dont even try to think about why he left, they focus on that he left.

Another thing I want to take about is about his relationship with Billy. Billy was literally racist towards him by telling Max not to talk to him because “there’s certain types of people that you don’t interact with in the world.” And Billy also tried to hurt Lucas (luckily Steve stepped in and pulled Billy off of Lucas) but people still defend Billy’s character to this day. A lot of people say that Billy has an ab*sive father and that’s why he mean to Lucas. Obviously, Billy’s behavior was learned by Neil but he still continued the ab*sive cycle. He continued to ab*se Lucas and Max. But people think it’s okay from to act like this because of his dad. If you think being racist towards someone is okay because of their living situation and excuse their actions because of it, you’re ignorant. Nothing is going to make me feel bad for Billy at all. Yeah, it’s sad that his dad couldn’t caring and loving towards Billy but to me, it’s not a good excuse for him to act the way he does. I’m not sure if he could’ve been redeemable if he lived (depends how much time the Duffers put into that arc if that was a thing) but how they redeemed him at the end of season 3 is not making me want to forgive him at all. But yet people still like his character and defend Billy. But Lucas is mean to Eleven for one season and left the party for a few episodes and suddenly Lucas is the worst character of stranger things. Like make it make sense. Lucas is way better than Billy. Lucas is kind, caring, funny, honest, gives great advice and such a loving person. But he displeased the audience twice and suddenly he’s a bad character. Billy literally tried to hit people with his car, yells at Max, tries to control who Max can and can’t talk to, hurts Lucas and threatens Lucas, and beats up Steve but he shown his soft side once and everyone thinks he’s an amazing character and person. It’s only because Billy is white because if Billy was black he would’ve massive hated in this fandom.

Another thing is about Lucas’s book, Lucas on the Line. I’ve seen so many people use his book as byler proof. And that’s not okay or sits right with me. The book is about Lucas not byler or other ships besides than Lumax. The book is about Lucas navigating life in high school as a black boy in a white town. It’s also about Lucas and Max’s relationship and how it kind of fell apart after Starcourt mall and Billy’s death. But yet I still see people using this book as byler proof and it disregards Lucas’s experience and the message of the book. If you’re someone who only read the book to prove a ship that’s just disrespectful. Stranger Things is not just about ships. The book isn’t even cannon anyways so it’s not even good proof. So please just read and enjoy the book and not try to prove that one ship is happening and one ship is bones. I’m saying this also a byler shipper. My blog mainly about byler at the moment. But there’s so many proves that you can talk about instead of Lucas on the line. I’ve only seen bylers do this (I don’t see/interact with other ships besides than Byler, Lumax, and Ronance) but there could be people from other ships twisting the narrative of the book. It’s okay to notice certain things about other ships but don’t share it to the internet. Please, it’s just disrespectful and ignorant to do so. Again, please read the book for what it’s about.

I feel like most of the hate that Lucas gets is because he’s black. There’s literally characters who committed crimes but they don’t like Lucas because we was mean to Eleven in season one. Like Billy tried to hurt Lucas, he’s abusive and controlling over Max, he attempted to run over Mike, Dustin and Lucas, and he beat up Steve. But Billy shows his soft side once and everyone loves him and pities him. If Billy was black or poc people how literally shit over him in 2 seconds. Since he’s white and conventional attractive people love him and say he’s the most misunderstood character in the show. But Lucas is the most misunderstood person in the show. Another example is Eddie. Don’t get me wrong I love Eddie but Eddie literally has a big fandom and he’s only been in one season. Eddie Munson has 15.9B views on tiktok for gods sake. But since he’s an conventionally attractive white male, that’s why he gets so much attention. If he was played by someone of a different race he would’ve be loved by everyone. Chrissy literally has a fandom WHEN SHE LITERALLY HAVE LIKE 10 MINUTES OF SCREEN TIME. AND IF YOU DONT THINK ITS BECAUSE SHES WHITE AND PRETTY IS THE REASON WHY PEOPLE LIKE HER LITERALLY I DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH YOU.

It pains me to my core to see my favorite character get sidelined so much. Lucas is an amazing person. But if you can’t see that then that’s really unfortunate. Anyways rant is over LOL. I got kinda heated at the end because it makes me so upset to see a character of my race being treated poorly. Also, my intention isn’t to bash any of the characters that I mentioned (besides than Billy). I just wanted to show contrast. Lucas Sinclair is the best character of all of Stranger Things. The end.

How I feel about this character

I love him <3 My rewatch buddy @imelopsittacus made me watch Forever over 2 years ago now, and it's not just that I fell in love, I fell head over heels. Since then I've watched virtually everything Ioan Gruffudd has ever done. But it all started because of Henry Morgan. He's such a great character. He's a little closed-off, a little hard to crack, but when you realize all the sh*t he's been through, it's a miracle he's even functioning at all. He's kind and curious and smart and he didn't deserve any of the terrible things that happened to him (the curse itself, his first wife's betrayal, the asylum at a time where it basically was medical torture, his second wife disappearing while he thought they'd still have a bit of time together, etc...) There's that quote going around "all this and it just made him kind" and that's the type of character I just can't resist. Of course he's a little quirky, a little excentric, but he does have a good heart, always had (hell, that's his good heart that got him killed), so yeah, Henry Morgan needs all the hugs.

Also, he dresses well. I can't resist a man with style.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

There's the obvious relationship with Abe. Which is awesome and adorable. Judd and Ioan brings so much familial chemistry that they succeed to make it believable and natural. I love that now that they're both old men, they're at times both the father to the other, or just old roomies.

But I also really like Henry's relationship with Lucas. I love how it develops through the show. Henry and Lucas are very different people. Both nerdy but in different ways. They have totally different cultures and references, but they do understand and accept that, and they do care for each other. It's obvious Lucas sees Henry as a mentor, but Henry also respects Lucas. They've noticed each other's quirks and they accept them and they're patient about it. Lucas knows Henry someone misses social cues, but that's alright, that's Henry. Henry knows that Lucas talks too much about stuff he doesn't understand but that's alright, that's Lucas. And Henry does try to be a good boss, tries to remember to give him kudos every once in a while, and covers for him if necessary.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I honestly wouldn't have minded to discover Henry had had a previous family had season 2 happened. I actually think it'd make sense and it would explain why he was so against having a child with Abigail, because of the upcoming heartbreak. He'd been there before and doesn't want to live it again.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Just wish there'd been more seasons. More episodes, more Henry. And most of all: an explanation to the curse. My rational, scientific brain doesn't live well with the absence of explanations for things. So yeah, it actually takes a bit of self control not to drive myself mad about this LOL (it doesn't have to be scientifically realistic, I understand the principle of fiction and supernatural, but at least an in-universe explanation would have been nice).

Degree Theory: Planets & Houses

TW: Mentions of Ab*se

Hi guys, thank you all so much for the support on the last degree post! I’m really glad you guys all found it really helpful, as promised, here’s how we’re going to analyze degrees in your planets and houses. Note: it might be a little different from other theories, but this is how I usually do it. For the next post, I’m thinking of going deeper into each one (i.e. degrees for the Ascendant, degrees through the houses), but for now here’s just a general idea of how I do it! I’m going to use my own degrees as examples! 

Planets + Ascendant 

Ascendant: So your degree here deals with what you’re showing to the world. For example, my degree is 7° (Libra degree), and people have told me they’ve seen me as really creative and someone who seems very level headed (even though I’m far from it LMAO). This degree also deals with earrings, which is funny because I have 5 piercings in my ears. 

Sun: Your degree here deals with your general life path, and how you express your personality. For a more specific overview, you can look at your Sun’s degree and the degree of the house it falls into. So my sun is at 3° in the 7th house which is at 7°. For me, I like to write, poetry is one of my favorite genres to write. A lot of the poetry I write, has been centered around my experiences in love (the 7th house and the 7° degree). Also, I’ve found that I’ve gotten to know who I am through my relationships with others and I've been often told that I’m in love with love. 

Moon: Your degree here shows how you deal with your emotions and which area of your life emphasizes them. So for me, my moon is in the 2° (I’m so cool I know, jk jk). Now quite literally, I will eat my feelings LMAO. Whenever I’m sad, I just eat a lot. Also I just like to engage in a lot of self care. I usually do this to hide and avoid how I really feel. My moon falls into my 4th house (25°), and a lot of why I act like that is because of my upbringing and my childhood in general where I had to stay in control and couldn’t let my emotions get the best of me since I had to grow up a lot faster than I would’ve wanted to (got personal there LMAO). 

Mercury: Your degree here shows what you think a lot about, what you like to learn, and how you communicate as well. For me, my Mercury is in the 19° in the 8th house at 10°. So for me, my Mercury being in the 19° means that I’m very good at mediating arguments and disputes, which is very true. I also like to use communication in a creative way, i.e. writing. I like to communicate through my art. With this being in the 8th house at 10° I could likely use this ability through dealing with the deeper/darker aspects of life furthermore in a potential career. I find this to be super accurate as I want to be a psychologist and/or a writer. I’m also very interested in true crime and the criminal justice system, which fits these degrees as well (and my Mercury in the 8th of course). I also love to learn about art too and social justice (since Libra degrees talk about fairness). Also quite literally, I think about love a lot and always find myself dreaming about being in a relationship. 

Venus: Your degree here shows how you love and how you best receive love. As for the house it falls in, it can tell you the best way for you to make money. So for me, my Venus is in the 7° in the 7th house, at 7° LMAO. The amount of Libra energy here. So for me, this means that I like romance and a traditional style of love. I also love to write poems and create drawings for my significant others. I also like to be charmed and I like fairness in a relationship. I also date with the intention to marry in the future, which I know is a little old-fashioned but I don’t date just to date. This is again, enhanced in the 7th house in the 7° as I bring this way of thinking into my relationships. Also, this tells me that I’d best make money by going into either a creative field, law/business, or helping people in relationships (maybe marriage counseling). 

Mars: Your degree here shows your motivations and where they’re centered as well as how you are when you’re angry. So for me, I have Mars in the 5° in the 7th house in the 7°. So for me, I’m very motivated when it comes to creativity. I also become very motivated when it comes to being a leader or being in charge of something; as soon as I’m in charge I strive to be the best. I also am very motivated at the gym, I’ll workout for 2+ hours just to prove how strong I am to myself and others. As with the 7th house and 7° relationships are also a big motivator for me; I always want to do what’s best for my relationship and will fight for my relationships no matter what it takes (this can be my downfall ofc). Also I’m very motivated to fight for equality and fairness for all. In regards to my anger, I’m very dramatic when I’m angry LMFAO. I tend to draw a lot of attention to myself, and usually working out helps me over my anger. Also, music, creativity and art help me move past it as well. However, when angry, I still try my best to be diplomatic and work things out. 

Jupiter: Your degree here shows your blessings and where you might overindulge. My Jupiter is in the 28° and falls in the 6th house at 18° (lol the degree of pure evil). So for me, I’m very emotionally intelligent and I’m very intuitive. This can also be used for helping others perhaps in a future job (work habits). This of course makes a lot of sense because I plan to become a psychologist. Also, I tend to spend a lot of money on home decor and decorating my room in general, so this is where I overindulge. Also, I tend to become too absorbed by my routines and I feel that if I’m not doing enough I’m lazy. Further, with the 18° here I tend to become too overindulged by worrying about being healthy, despite me being a healthy person, I tend to worry myself sick. 

Saturn: Your degree here shows what you struggle with. So for me, my Saturn is in the 25° and falls in the 6th house at 18°. So this carries on from Jupiter lmao, like I said I’m worried too much about my health and if I’m doing enough routine-wise. I either become absorbed by my routines or I just struggle with developing one at all. Also, I struggle with being assertive and taking control over my life. I feel like I always just let others tell me what to do, and I tend to rely on what my parents tell me to do instead of just being the leader of my own life. 

Uranus: Your degree here shows how you’re unique compared to others. For me my Uranus is in the 20° and falls in the 3rd house at 19°. So quite literally, I’m unique for my interest in the darker aspects of life such as the occult and other mysteries. This also shows in how I think and communicate too since my mind is preoccupied with these things (3rd house). Also, I use these darker aspects of life in my creative hobbies such as writing and drawing (19°). 

Neptune: Your degree here shows what our dreams are like and our imagination. So for me, my Neptune is in the 6° (omf the amount of Virgo and Libra degrees in my chart) in the 2nd house at 10°. This is actually so funny but I always dream about my job or my co-workers will show up in my dreams (2nd house at 10°). I can never escape it. My imagination is also very preoccupied with helping other people, I’m literally always daydreaming about how I’m going to help people at my future job (6°). Also more darkly, a lot of my dreams and imagination revolve around my depression and my fears and are very dark. I also daydream about becoming well-known for whatever field I decide to go into. 

Pluto: Your degree here shows the themes of your transformations throughout life as well as your fears and obsessions. So for me, my Pluto is in the 10° in the 1st house at 7°. This definitely rings true for me because my depression has caused a lot of transformations for me. Also, my father was apart of these transformations because he divorced my mom and this created a big transformation for me. I’m also obsessed with relationships as well and my relationships have quite literally changed my appearance. I remember I was in an ab*sive relationship, and after I left my face looked quite different and I changed my appearance a lot. Also, I have a lot of fears in regards to my relationships such as that they’ll hurt me, and my relationships have transformed me a lot. 

For the houses that don’t have any planets like for me houses 9-12 and the 5th  you can just view the degrees of those houses and look at how those degrees relate to each theme of your houses. For example, my 11th house is in the 25°, and this shows because quite literally I was ab*sed by my friends and bullied in middle school. Also, a lot of my friends are very no bs kind of people and take charge of their lives. They also always stand up for me and defend me. They also went through a lot of struggles in their lives as well, just like me. 

Hopefully this post helps you guys, and I’m planning on making more degree posts soon, but for now I’m debating either doing a Mercury through the houses post or another asteroid post. So let me know what you guys think!

“Okay, kid. We can take this upstairs-” where there was no one to walk in on them. “-and talk about what exactly you’re thinking.”

Tony grabbed his wrist gently, glancing in the hallway to make sure that no one was coming before he dragged him to the elevator.

Before he could get another word out, Peter’s lips were on his again. And this time there was more heat behind it.

He kissed back, eyes slipping shut just as the elevator doors did. Their lips pushed together insistently and he felt Peter’s tongue clumsily swiping over his lip.

He suppressed a laugh and parted his lips, allowing Peter to lead.

It was all so curious and clumsy that he wondered just how many times Peter had ever kissed anyone. If any. But that was a question for later.

The elevator dinged softly when they reached the penthouse and only then did they pull away from each other.

Tony led Peter out, instantly heading for his bedroom. Bad idea or no, he’d imagined such a scenario so many times. He didn’t want to waste any time.

“Tony?” Peter spoke up, eyes on the bed. “I know this is really straightforward, but I’m glad you, like, don’t hate me. I’ve thought about this...a lot.”

“You and me both,” the older man murmured. “Something I feel like we should cover before anything else...how far are you wanting to go?”

Peter chewed his lip. “Not to rush things, but I really really want to go all the way.”

“Well, not to rush things, but I want that too.” Tony gave him a small grin. “Do you have a preference?”

“Hmm?”

The confused look that he got made him feel guilty again. Just how much had Peter ever done with anyone else?

“Top or bottom, honey. Receiving or giving, pitching or catching, whatever you want to say. What do you want to do?”

Peter blushed, deciding to distract from the question at hand by pulling his shirt off.

It worked. Tony’s attention was instantly elsewhere, his eyes focused on his trim waist but hard muscle.

1. I just saw some post about body diversity in Lo and how it is grat and that they loving it, and it was just like 5 background characters that said only one sentence.

2. I feel like a lot of the couples are kinda not interesting no matter how much drama Smyth puts into them.

HXP gross, cheating, boss and employee, awkward for the work place, too many people are involved, and still isn’t grabbing it for me. Like I know other people root for them, but I don’t, it’s hard to root for a dumpster fire.

Hera and Zesus. The constant cheating was expected, and the bad communication, but Echo doesn’t spice it up or anything I would have been fine if Echo was a friend that shit talked Zeus with Hera (I know that’s not the story but still does Rachel care about accuracy? No) even though Zeus cheats we do get to see him actually care, BUT Idk Hera doesn’t draw me in, like they both suck, but Zeus is a bit more complex for me (with the bad husband, the cheating but still caring for Hera and being jealous)

Eros and Pysch. The beginning was interesting even knowing the myth, it was getting just a little stale and then bam he finds out on accident and I lost interest. Like they talked too much about HXP too much to feel like their own thing later on and now that he didn’t complete the test right like what now. Is Aphrodite gonna get in trouble or are we gonna forget? Idk they lost their spark for me.

Minthe and Hades. Toxic relationship that needed more time to expand explanation. Like yeah we know they are/were together but like that backstory wasn’t much. Sorry #minthedeservesmorescreentime.

Daphne abs Thanos are interesting and I can actually see why both like each other, where they started and I wanna know what’s gonna happen next for them. Like they have the life and death balance that HXP wishes even. And even tho Daphne isn’t a god, she told Apollo she was gonna ruin him, she bit him, she was awesome! And it was believable too since she’s an athletic influencer. Thanos has an interesting plot line that will probably be a problem for them later but I’m excited. Like both characters affect the plot outside of their relationship AND are interesting

Aphrodite and Ares feels like RS dropped the ball with them. Why is Ares flirting with Persephone? Sure they’re open but like idk Persephone doesn’t seem like a good fit for him at all. They were set up interestingly since we knew Aphrodite was looking for him, but that one little hug scene did no justice for either character. Like we hardly see them interact positively towards each other.

Crack ship Minthe and Hecate would have loved to see! My crack fic before I think a lot of season two was out was After Minthr parties Thetis and leaves her, she doesn’t snitch on Persephone and just tells Thetis to back off, returns to work all humbled out and Hecate and her work together on just personal shit and work stuff. Minthe asks Hecate stuff on how to get over Hades and how to be better and that’s when we learn Hecate always loved Minthe’s chaos. But yeah that didn’t happen. When I saw some crack headcanon s about those two I was like “didn’t know I needed this till now”. (I was hoping Minthe was gonna be like Petra from Jane the Virgin, starts out bad, doesn’t like the main character for most of the time but still gets a happy ending)

3. i like how LO fanss defend it like "well its no more problematic than the myth its based off of!" which like sure, thats an argument to make, but idk, the original myth didnt have persephone be nearly underage with no experience so hades can take advantage of it, demonizing several mother figures for the sake of a guy, a huge class divide thats frames the rich and powerful as the oppressed to the poor, and you know, ACTUAL SLAVERY. like cmon, it's honestly worse than the OG myth in most ways.

4. youd think if hades is self aware enough to know he was the wrong party to get into a relationship with minthe in the first place, that he'd at least be a little concerned over minthe being stuck as a plant, especially when persephone almost dropped her which would have killed her. the two of them just left her alone in a dark, empty room while they went to dance and goof off, not a care in the world. he seems more relived she's out of his hair now for him to hook up w/ his intern. its so gross.

5. I hope Demeter is pissed at her daughter for just like EVERYTHING. Taking a step back, Persephone is having a grand ol time at Hades’ place for god knows how long while her mother is worried about their situation and then gets kidnapped and Persephone makes 0 effort to try and get in contact with her or anything (hey hectare you saw my mom laying low as a bird, but any chance can you try and find her again and maybe we can arrange something since the literal god of gods is out for our blood so maybe let’s get the story straight)

Demeter going against her own comfort and parenting beliefs to left Persephone like with Artemis. It’s not Persphones fault that Apollo happened, BUT Demeter probably let Persephone live there after the murders to settle some stuff out and then 1 month of living there or so Persephone runs away to live in a motel and then has a power control issue. Let’s pretend the power control issue didn’t happen yet, what the hell was she gonna tell her mother? “Hey mom Artemis’ brother makes me uncomfortable so you can find me at this motel IN THE UNDERWORLD NEAR HADES YEAH THE GUY I FIND PLEASANT LOOKING” I know Demeter is suppose to look like an over the top mom, but yeah how was that suppose to go down? If she found out her daughter was staying with hades?

Getting an internship with Hades/underworld and not telling her mom. Idk if Hera made it a secret, but again Demeter would probably want to know that stuff being strict as she is, she probably would want Persephone to excel at a job BUT maybe not with Hades idk I forget, again it just shows there no trust between either mother nor daughter. Hera also sucks for testing her friends daughter with out actually having the intention to help perpshone and test if Hades is actually okay.

After everything Demeters gonna be like “this is why I wanted you to commute, I wouldn’t have been shoved in a bird cage if you you just have just commuted to school.”

Like I know persphone has to go out and make her own mistakes, but a lot of it boils down to Persphone was a brat. She demanded she leaves and then later killed some people got her way and then went behind her back and didn’t even want to stay in Olympus. Demeter isn’t blameless in this situation but Persephone is a murderer, glorified side chick, and I just feel that all of Demeter’s worse nightmares about her daughter leaving all happened and worse
