Y'know, I've never really talked about this, but somehow I've acquired a circle of niche celebrity friends/colleagues:
1. I know a small-time producer named David Schifter, who I met in an airport once, and now I have a writing credit on a low-budget thriller (Black Balsam is the name)
2. Somehow I because friends with Undertale VA Improvidence (bro was a reference for me for my last job and I've been to his fucking house)
3. Author Clare B. Dunkle almost came to my wedding (she had company the weekend of) and I have an unpublished manuscript she sent me exclusively
Pretty cool for someone who only got their will to live back a few years ago. Love that for me tbh
return to JJk hell with us. (FYI, It sucks. And FYI I think you sent me here. Headpusher!Suguru pushed me off a cliff, straight down to the second layer. )
Unfortunately I will need to kick this recent fixation I have with Jeff Ward before moving on to anything else. Ik nobody follows me for irl dudes but
Like. Woah. The Clown was just gateway drug and now I am in too deep. I'm aiming to get the fic out before the end of the year and then we may return to our regularly scheduled anime degeneracy, BUT until then
I’m so shocked. That the vfx industry doesn’t have a union I feel you guys and animation are the one that are most easy overworked and that doesn’t reach the news
yeah, it's pretty fucked up. we really are at the mercy of everyone else since we're the last link of the chain. it's even worse for VFX artists in hubs where labor is cheap (for example india where they are severely underpaid and overworked).
i am disappointed it's not talked about more, but i get it. it's not about us. but yeah it's not looking good for people in the VFX industry right now... some companies were already struggling post covid shutdowns and now this? it's rough :/
i'm okay for now, for the next couple of weeks until my current project ends, but i have no clue what's gonna happen after. about 3 weeks ago we had a company wide meeting at my workplace saying we are fine and have enough work, but honestly i'm not trusting that. not with what i hear from friends at other companies in the city, especially with the SAG-AFTRA now most likely going on strike too.
that being said, i truly fucking hope this strike changes hollywood for the better, it's time!!
moral of the story: guys, have a backup plan and don't go work in a field where you cannot be protected
scrolling through possible movies to watch, I just love how they credit actors in the description sometimes.
"An Irish freedom fighter (Liam Neeson) engineers the assassinations..."
Like ok, I don't think he was actually a rebel. I think it's supposed to say "played by" Liam Neeson. I really like how this frames the whole movie I'm about to watch as "N. Irish actor Liam Neeson goes back in time to actually fill the shoes of Irish rebel and spy Michael Collins who died too early or something and he needs to fix the timeline"
which could be fun but I highly doubt that's the direction it's going to actually take.
My mum was like "let's watch some Tom Hanks comedy about a violinist and the CIA because I remember it being funny" and I was like yeah sure whatever (scrolls through tumblr) but eventually there was a concert scene and the conductor was David Ogden Stiers getting So Mad at the main characters fucking up the concert
i am once again begging for people to realize that imdb pages can be edited by anyone and people add fake information to them all the time and its not a good source for information on anything that hasnt been released yet. if you see any castings or descriptions or episode titles or anything like that on there that arent backed up by any other source then you should automatically assume that theyre fake
hm, my research (#adventures in joplin sibtain's imdb page) is reaching the stage (not much left to watch) where I feel the need to publish my findings (edit his wikipedia page to add info/set up a separate fan blog). what will reviewer #2 say though?
