I WAKE UP TO SOME REALLY GOOD NEWS

Our next Resplendent Hero for the Fire Emblem Heroes game is Deirdre: Lady of the Forest! 💜🦋

You probably guessed how I feel about this Resplendent Hero just with the title alone, but here's the 411 as always:

I'm in love with both the artwork and how well the thematic does match Deirdre, this is because she's sometimes portrayed with butterflies flying near her in her official artwork:

You can even notice a few of those in the special artwork! 🦋

That's one of the reasons why I feel the Dökkálfar thematic is a very solid match for her! There's also the color scheme, many shades of purple blend majestically in her new clothes and the wings, without the different contrasts being absolutely pleasant to admire.

And body language is also worth noting of course, continuing to show us how serene and gentle she is.

Overall, I don't feel there's anything off about all the art pieces, I'm overly comfortable with it all.

I rate the artwork: 10/10.

Reaction

The first word that comes to mind is "HYPE" in uppercase and large size (72pt?), I couldn't feel any happier than I'm about one of my favs in the series getting such an epic artwork, and I'm in absolute love with it.

It's not a stellar build I know, this isn't even half final actually, but I don't have much skills I can give her at the present.

As for appreciation talk, you might want to look forward to it later on, but put simply: best mom in the series, I love how calm yet caring she's, plus her rather angelical design.

Since I outed myself with an ask to phoenix about an event I’ll go ahead and post something about my schedule for three wishes here. I won’t put this under read more just for visibility, so sorry ahead of time for clogging your dashes.

As a note ahead of time THESE ARE ALL SUBJECT TO CHANGE, I DO NOT GIVE ANY DATES CAUSE I’M NOT PUTTING MYSELF ON A DEADLINE. I’m doing this for my own enjoyment and hopefully, others as well but please don’t rush me. I’m sharing this just to be open about my plans and what I’m working on, and perhaps for the motivations / reminders it’ll give me - not to give anyone a reason to come at me. Okay? Okay.

Not counting small comics or misc posts of art and info or fics:

First order of business is for me to finish drawing all of Silas’ outfits and Design the Enchantress. I have Silas almost completely done sketch wise, so I’ll work on the sketches of the Enchantress next and then line/color and post those. I might also do some side character designs as I have a few that might show up here and there (but they’ll just be like the ghosts in canon, occasionally there and then you don’t see them for fucking ever). I WOULD do outfit design sheets for EVERY character BUT....that would be a lot of work. I might end up just making polls like ‘who would you like to see outfit references for’ and then work on them at my own pace. That way you guys get what you want first and I still have fun designing everyone’s outfits regardless.

Second order of business is my event I mentioned in the ask to phoenix, BATTLE OF THE BANDS! I accidentally went full game dev on the documentation (because if I’m not gonna use all that documentation homework I did for that game art degree NOW then when am I going to??), but I’m actually pretty far along planning wise since I’ve been working on it when I needed break from art things. Right now I have about half of the main story of the event outlined. My order of doing things is Summary of Story > Outline of items / mini games > Figure out what characters were going to be in the event > Main story outline > Card Story outlines > Finalized story and Card Stories > Art Assets. So it might take awhile before I post any art for it. But if people show interest in me posting some of the in progress things feel free to send me an ask every now and then and I can update you! Because of the ask and permission given, Evonie from @phoenix-manga ‘s Diamond Crown Academy will make an appearance in the event, as well as Three Wishes OCs made by @tsukikoayanosuke (Bridgette) and @missnekonyan (Donelle) as the clubs their characters are involved with the event overall. I’m really excited I got permission from all of them to be able to reference their characters! They won’t be big rolls but I’m happy to give all of these creators spotlight by adding in their characters.

Third thing, Regular Card Stories and Art for Cards! I am already making documentation to have these noted down, Will probably do them one dorm at a time but I do have a few ideas already. I will say that my R-SSR order of the cards is a bit different from canon. R’s are School Uniforms and PE outfits (will be slightly different depending on which PE course is taken by the student, since there’s three at three wishes), SRs are Dorm Outfits and Fundraising outfits - as Dorm outfits are different per person i didn’t think they were special enough for SSRs but still worth some highlight, and Fundraising / Volunteering is a mandatory class at Three Wishes so that gets another SR spot. Then lastly their SSRs are their Ceremony outfits. These are also different per character but they will all have a matching color scheme so that’s why i wanted these to be the SSRs. I also already have like four future events planned and which characters will be getting cards / what rank the cards will be for those characters! None of these events have any kind of outline yet, only general concepts and characters possibly involved, so the characters may change but I have them written down so I don’t forget and I can add to the event outlines as I find inspiration.

Maybe the fourth thing is actually designing the dang school. I SUCK at environment art, I’m not going to lie. It’s why alot of my comics up until this point has had minimal or no backgrounds at all. But one of the reasons why I’m drawing comics is to maybe get better at backgrounds cause I’m already sick of them not having one so progress I guess. But this is why this is kind of last on my list, as I definitely need the practice. If there’s a dorm or location I have listed that you would like to see art for or just described in better detail, Feel free to send me an ask!

And the thing I’m kind of working on while all of that is going on is of course, the Main Story Outline! I have all the chapter names picked and I have at least the Prologue - Second chapter bullet pointed as a first draft - I already know some places I wanna go back and change things but for now I’m just trying to get the general ideas for each chapter down. As of now there are eight chapters in total - including the prologue and the finale, so six major story chapters over all. I’m still not sure how I want to tell this story in all honestly. Part of me REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to make these full blown comics in all honesty. I’ve been wanting to draw actual comics since I was a kid and I’m closer now than I ever have been to being able to do so. But I also know how much of a time sync that is and know that I haven’t quite grasped all the shading tools in CSP to really give it the effect I want to have - which is one of the reasons I’m working on the mini comic pages here and there so I can slowly improve - but I can’t promise anything. If nothing else, I’m semi confident in my writing skills so I will maybe end up writing it out.

As a treat TM, I’ll list the chapter titles I have down below. THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE, but I am pretty happy with them right now - they’ll only likely change if I end up changing my entire idea for the chapter or changing the order of chapters. Anyone care to give me some theories on what you think each chapter is about? :thinking:

Dark Academia Bullet Journal

So yes Dark Academia is a genre of fiction I realize that but it is also an aesthetic to many of us internet dwellers who love Donna Tartt and so here are some things I do with my own bullet journal to fit that Dark Academia Aesthetic, of course, a bullet journal is a very personal thing so do whatever you like this is just my personal style and ideas

Scrapbook Style

old/antique photographs

bits of brown paper

pages from old books

pressed flowers

grid paper

photo negatives

polaroids

pieces of lined paper

oddly colored post-it notes

cream cardstock

nature themed stickers

Write in the extra space

literary quotes

poems (original or from someone else)

reading lists/library lists

playlists

movie lists

drawings of plants

drawings of books

reflections on the week or life in general

overall stylistic choices

try to stick to one color scheme per spread/month preferably earth tones, dark blues, and blacks, neutrals

minimalistic styles work very well

if cluttered make it somewhat eclectic in texture but uniform in color

generally more simplistic spread styles

leave space for little daily entries and reflections

now go forth and enjoy some good bullet journaling if you have anything to add feel free to reblog with comments I hope this is helpful/inspirational and I will again repeat bullet journaling is super personal so don’t take this too seriously do whatever you like with your bullet journal these are just general tips for those who want to achieve a certain aesthetic

Starting up a blog or studyblr (with little or no experience in graphic/web design)!!!

I promised I would make a post about starting up a blog so here you go!! These are the things I found most useful in my time starting up a studyblr, and I was never someone with amazing handwriting or an amazing bullet journal, but I loved writing, I loved taking pictures, and I always dreamed of having my own blog! Hopefully this is helpful information to all of you looking to get started <3

✧ First and foremost, you need to start up a blog that incorporates your interests. Whether that be studying/giving study advice/student experience/really anything academic, that would fall under a studyblr. But there are so many options! Langblr’s for individuals interested in language, bookblrs, literature blogs, travel blogs, you name it. My blog actually began as a travel blog! I still incorporate a significant amount of that into my current blog. Once you find what you’re interested in, you can orient your name, logo, description, and other aspects around that, which takes us into...

✧ ...choosing a theme! My blog is currently oriented around a simplistic color theme. Some blogs do their themes around their interests: for example books! Which might appear in the logo and cover. I’d say the easiest route to take is choose your color template, and decorate/design everything around that. Find what you think fits you and what fits the type of page you want to create. It also helps to look at other blogs for inspiration! That takes us into..

✧.. creating your own work, logo, what I would consider ‘artboards’. This gives you a unique and original touch to your blog, personal autonomy, and you don’t have any worries about copyright or taking someone else’s work. While it is easy to pull stuff from online and other blogs, it is much more fun to create your own artboards, and something that I continuously do just out of enjoyment. :) Here are some of the tools I use (and that I know are quite popular) in doing that:

✧ Illustrator is my main go-to. Whenever I am creating a new cover, profile picture, choosing color schemes or simply wanting to make something fun and cute for my next post, I use illustrator!

✧ Pros: allows a wide range of graphics and illustrations; high-tech; popular, so there are lots of tutorials out there for its use

✧ Cons: can be expensive (I would advise checking with your school/employer/other institution to see if they offer it for free!); can be overly complicated for someone with no experience in graphic design (like I was!)

✧ Inkscape is one that I have never personally used, but that I hear is extremely popular in the graphic design community. Based on layout images I have seen of it, it seems super simple to use and is definitely a great place to start for beginners. And its free!!

✧ Photoshop is an app that I have access to but do not use as often, but just like illustrator, allows for a wide-range of tools, but can prove complicated for someone with no experience in graphic design; also, it costs.

✧ VSCO is my all-time favorite photo-editing app: I have been using mine for ages. It also is free for some filters, but I personally pay for vsco-pro because of the huge selection of other filters and overall simplicity of it as an app. I also have sooo many travel photos that I post on my vsco page, so check those out. ;) Lastly, and most importantly...

✧... stay committed! This is the deal-breaker, and one that kept ruining my chances at having the blog I dreamt of. While I made my tumblr ages ago and loved using it for travel, I often found myself abandoning it for months at a time. We’ve all been there. Here are a few tricks that help me to stay committed to my blog and use it frequently enough that I consider myself a committed blogger and I feel emotionally committed as well:

✧ Put it in your bookmarks tap (in Chrome or Safari), make it an app on your first page, and check it daily!! I used to set reminders to blog, but now I’m at the point where I think about my blog all the time and don’t need to set reminders (wack). I love to check it at the same time I am checking the mail, like it’s my side hustle (even though its just for enjoyment ;,)).

✧ Do 100 days of productivity!! To some this might feel like a chore (I’ve tried completing 100 days of productivity 3 times with no success. It takes time), but it will keep you checking and writing on your blog daily. It works!!

✧ Get in touch with other bloggers!! Send them messages!! Reblog their posts!! If you’re making friends and feel like you’re a part of your blogging community (which are normally theme-based: I love keeping in touch with other studyblrs and langblrs!!) I promise it will make you feel like you’re reaching an audience and that you have people who are waiting for your posts (cheesy I know). I love sending messages to other bloggers (and my good friend @ginger-biologist-writer who I message every time I’m on :,)). Other things that help you stay in touch with other bloggers is challenges (such as studyblr challenges, tag-a-friend challenges, studyblr reblogs, types posts, etc. etc.) While you’re a at it, check out those links and give them a follow!

✧ And fun thing about being committed is the more you use tumblr, get acquainted with its layout, and see how other blogs function, the better you will be at figuring out how you want to organize your posts. Some people love masterposts with links to other amazing blogs or their posts: some people will do infographs, some will do a short daily recaps (which I do!), some will do study tips; some people organize their date like a title or italics or [22.10.19] like me or “daily recap // 22-10-19″ or they add emojis or ✧’s or anything-- find what you like and go with it!!!

✧ most importantly, we are rooting for you. I have not met a single blogger who doesn’t absolutely love other bloggers and isn’t always willing to help out. That’s what we’re here for really... we like to blog, we like to show people how to study, we like to share our experiences, so we like to help! Send a blogger some questions and don’t ever be afraid to reach out.

I hope this helps to all our new bloggers-to-be; just remember, we’ve all been there, and we’ve put in our time and investments to make the blogs we run today. We wanna see yours grow too ;,)

aksdj The Couple is the same reason I started watching Schitt’s Creek and it’s seriously just So Good. I didn’t know how I felt about the Good Place at first but I was bored enough to get through the first few episodes and then it just kind of picked up from there and now it’s one of my favorites, so I’d definitely recommend giving it another go !!

high school just sucks ass overall lmao, the breaks are always awful and most people spend them catching up on homework anyways so like??? there’s almost no point?? oh well. I have two siblings that are both 4 years apart from me, an older sister and a younger brother. I’m literally right in the middle, lol. It’s a blessing and a curse.

I would love to visit New York for the first time or D.C. again (I went there over the summer for a school trip and it was so pretty and I would love to go again and actually take time to see every museum). I’m going to Nashville for another school trip this summer and like I’m always excited to see new things but like?? Tennesee is not really in my To Visit places so we’ll see how it is. you’re absolutely right about the South and you should say it. way too hot.

oof I think i’m more of a tv person but I also have really bad commitment issues so I tend to leave things unfinished oops. but I’ll honestly watch any movie and most likely will enjoy it which is why it’s hard for me to pick a favorite movie bc like?? all of them?? so idk really, haha. rom coms are the superior movie genre but I also enjoy some action and horror as well. (why would you bring that moment up oof).

okay I think that’s all for now. hopefully this was easier to deal with than having 20 asks but if not just let me know and I’ll go back to that, lol.

The history of my fursonas! 🐱

I’m in an especially infodump-y mood at the moment and I watched a video about fursonas that inspired me (Shoutout to Pocari Roo’s channel!) so here we go ^o^

I first learned about the furry fandom in about 2013-14 from some friends at school! Granted, the two teenage boys I talked to a lot were more obsessed with the... sexual side of that xD I won’t go into that though because that would involve me talking about more uncomfortable stuff >.> I also had another friend that was such a huge influence to me and they’re a big reason that I still draw fuzzy animals to this day! Their fursona at the time was named Icy and I thought that character was the freakin’ coolest. I remember going home after talking to them, filled with inspiration and making my very first fursona!

Her original name was Rogue Feather, but the name Scarlett came later and ultimately stuck way better! Her design was simple, a red fox with a purple bandana! Not much thought was put into her, I just put together what I thought a typical fursona would look like :P I didn’t draw her much since I was way more focused on MLP and my ponysona Starfruit, but I still enjoyed doodling her!

Shortly after Scarlett, I created Citrus the cat! To be honest, she didn’t really represent me other than being a cat xD Her design was actually based off of a girl that I had a crush on at that time, but that’s a whole other story >.>

Also, it was coincidental that Twinkie has elements from both of these beginning characters, I just noticed that making this post! I learned that I loved cats from creating citrus, and I loved drawing Scarlett’s wings and bandanas so I suppose it was natural that my current fursona would have all of these traits :P

Well, months pass after posting the first drawings of Citrus and Scarlett on my Instagram, and at this point I decided to try taking up digital art! I downloaded FireAlpaca for free (still my program of choice x3) and worked really hard at drawing with only my mouse!

My friend that inspired me to draw more furry characters had changed their fursona over from a bright sparkledog-ish color scheme to another character with muted browns and oranges. Inspired once again, I designed another cat character to represent myself!

Meet Macchiato (or Mac for short)! They were made when I switched my focus from My Little Pony to furry characters, and I moved from Instagram to DeviantArt as my main art site.

When I made Mac, I was close to beginning high school and I questioned a lot about my identity, mainly my gender and sexuality :P For a period of time, I pushed aside my adoration for ponies, Pokemon and colorful things in favor of things I thought were “cooler” and more boyish. A large part of this was my complicated relationship with my gender identity, but also because I thought I had to act more mature... so I expressed this by drawing myself as a cat? It was complicated xD

Anyways, while I have a soft spot for Mac, they’re sort of my own Rex Dangervest if that makes sense :P I mean, they were my first expression of feeling neutral to gender which was a big deal for me, but when I look at their drab colors it sort of makes me sad that I didn’t have much fun designing them. (I did have a blast drawing that pixel reference though, I remember that xD)

I also created a few more furry characters just for the fun of it! I won’t post pictures of all of them for the sake of length, but they were Chamomile the fennec fox, Minx the cat, Caira the alien dog, Pfeffer the bunny, Flicker the bat (who I should draw again sometime >.>) Mitzi the dog and... Whatever animal Skyler was supposed to be xD I made all these characters before I attempted to make a fursona that I felt more connected with...

Along came Clash the cat, an even more depressing character than Mac for me to look at xD I was considerably depressed at this point from the pressure of high school and my identity issues, the droopy eyelids and chaotic color scheme of him sort of reflect this.

It’s a good thing you can’t read his description in that screenshot, Believe me, but I think I should quote a part of it because it greatly represents how I felt about myself during the time period when I made him.

“If you were to dissect his brain, you’d see something much like somebody’s tangled collection of thread and yarn. Colorful, unkept, and full of pushed aside potential.”

Ouch!!

Well, after a period of depressing fursonas I played that one cat icon creator game that circulated on Tumblr for a while, and I made my favorite old fursona! I think that he had a lot in common with Twinkie and I used them more than everyone else beforepaw.

Here’s Cetrada, my little Nickelodeon slime cat xD I named them after the Italian citron-flavored soda that my friend Francesca (Love ya buddy!) sent to me in the mail! That soda is actually spelled Cedrata, the misspelling of the name was not a creative choice but an actual dumb mistake xP

I genuinely still love this character, I nicknamed them Limey since it’s simple and cutesy like them, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever use them again. Think of them as teenage Twinkie I guess xD I love ya Cetrada, you were a good kitty <3

Eventually Cetrada grew stale for me and I went through a couple of other fursonas. I don’t have much to say about them since they were pretty short lived, but I’ll post a single picture of each of them! I’m getting a bit tired of making mini collages of them anyways :P

While Reese’s design and colors are a bit awkward, I genuinely adore their mini companion Mallow the bat :P They look like pistachio pudding, what a cutie!

Ugh, this fursona stresses me out to look at too xD I mean arguably they’re the closest in design to Twinkie (yellow cat with angel wings and star knee markings) but they remind me of a rough time I suppose? I drew a couple pictures of them looking more sexualized and with a more slim body type when in reality I was overweight and scared of intimacy... they just remind me of an unhealthy period of my life @_@ I must have felt that too though, I dropped this fursona pretty quickly.

I do actually like Kit even though I used him very briefly, I was starting to have WAY more fun with bright colors in my drawings! Sure he’s a bit too pastel 2015 Tumblr, but I do still like that pink and yellow combo ^w^

Eventually I grew sick of my DeviantArt and mostly just posted art on my main Tumblr where I got super into the kidcore scene! I had rediscovered my love of fun colors and sparkly eyes, kidcore sparked a new me! I wasn’t doing fantastic in life, but I developed more optimism and a genuine love for simple things which grounded me a lot. This was such a wild part of my life, through reblogging pictures of rainbows and Pokemon and slime I gained over 2,000 followers O.O Two of my closest friends told me that they found me by my influence in the kidcore Tumblr community back around 2016 and were intimidated to talk which is just nuts to me x’D

Anyways I’ll try not to go on a tangent about that anymore, but 2016-17 was wild! I should give a shoutout to my very first sparklesona Cosi, but he was made only barely before my true fursona...

That’s right babey, the one... The only!!!

HE’S FINALLY HERE! Twinkie, the fursona I truly felt a personal connection with. I mean, he’s everything I love bundled into one! Pikachu has been my hugest comfort ever since I was four years old so naturally I would have to incorporate it into my fursona somehow! I also gave him a bandana, my favorite accessory to draw on furry characters, and wings! Of course I love rainbows too so I gave him rainbow wings..... But I tweaked his design since the colored wings made him more bird-like. Nothing against birds of course, but I thought plain white angel wings were simpler and more iconic for him! I did give him a touch of rainbow later with his tag design! I also scrapped his red dot eyebrows and his tail bandana, but overall I loved the character I made! I was thrilled to have a fun cartoon kitty that I could use to express myself :3

Before him my only true-feeling ‘sona was Starfruit the pegasus, it was fulfilling because I feel like when I made Twinkie, I started to find myself!

Twinkie did go through a couple redesigns including a semi-drastic color change sometime in early 2018, but I really do feel content with the way he looks right now! In Twinkie I see friendliness, optimism, and a caring heart which is what I strive for! He represents the journeys I took to be more comfortable with myself and he radiates the confidence that I hope to achieve one day as well >:3 I mean it is possible I could change him for a new fursona or even flat out drop him in the future, but after 3 strong years I think Twinkie will stay a part of me for a while ^w^

Anyways, if you’ve read all of this, THANK YOU!! This was a really personal post and I think it’s fascinating to look at my own self progression this way, I hope somebody gained something from this but if it was just for me that’s okay too xD

How Kpopmeetblackwomen/kmusicblackwomen Got Popular

Omg so I always said I'd make a post regarding the history of that controversial tumblr and so today is the day! I was there when ole girl first made the tumblr and dipped when things got a little weird to me but I know why she got fans in the first place and how she's kept them. This is gonba be long so get Ready for some bulletpoints and tea!! (Cold old tea lmao)

* 2014-15 kpop tumblr was....rough...especially for black fans. Like kpop was as problematic as ever but people were coming for each other's throats for liking problematic idols, like people were acting like parents and police when it came to this. You reblogged a picture of Chanyeol??? You had atleast 2 people in your inbox wanting to know why you reblogged his picture. There were these headass "most unproblematic member in each group" lists going on lmao and there was this one person who said you were a "Baekhyun sympathizer" if you still liked the problematic lil fellow. Baekhyun has said some trashy shit HOWEVER making that parallel was doing the absolute fucking most, when someone says sympathizer you know you automatically think of Nazis. Oh! And there was also this trend of people subposting other people, telling them they don't love themselves and when they'd get called out on it, they'd backpeddle. Those people are just now admitting that the shade they threw was towards specific people.

* With that being said, the dominant black kpop tumblr was blackkpopfans and during that time it became less of a place where you could find out updates on comebacks and such and more so a place where people could list out their justified grievances towards antiblackness in kpop. The issue with that however was, it came to the point where people where beating dead horses and the environment there was very negative. Like it was multiple anons going on about how they hate gdragon or zico, which is fine, but it was 80% anons like that and 20% actual kpop content. And I think it got to the point where people were thinking like....well why are we even into kpop if it's gonna be like this???

* So that was the state of blackkpopfans and some reached out to the admins to say they didn't think the atmosphere was right and that it was really negative to which the admins replied it's not negative here, this is what our anons have to say. Which is where I side eyed the admins cuz they weren't being genuine nor truthful and they acted like the atmosphere was something they couldn't help which they most certainly could especially since they were the ones responsible for posting information about comebacks which for a while they hardly did and they often posted anons daily that literally said the same thing, like I'm telling you people were running over dead horses:old, old receipts. Also the black and teal or green color scheme was depressing and just made everything worse, it was so not appealing lmao but maybe that was just me. I personally think, if the tumblr was a black kpop fans anonymous tumblr, like the one we have now I believe, I'd cut the admins alot of slack but they called themselves a place where black fans could gather, get information on debuts and comebacks, and discuss a multitude of things good and bad, so that's why they get a side eye.

* So overall, things weren't "fun" over at blackkpopfans. It was actually getting boring too cuz like I said all the repetitiveness and lack of new information. And so guess who toostie rolls onto tumblr in 2015??? That's right, Kpopmeetblackwomen. And guess what, people FLOCKED to her why? Cuz it was like a breath of fresh air.

(THE IMPORTANT STUFF LMAO)

*Now in the very very beginning, Kpopmeetblackwomen wasn't "bad" persay. The admin, at the time, like I know she's a lil dust bunny now, but INITIALLY, admin came across as very very sweet. She was nice to all her visitors and when people asked her why she created the tumblr she said she just wanted another resource/outlet for blackkpopfans to have. She didn't think it was good that blackkpopfans was all there was especially considering what was going on over there. I think, in the beginning, she wanted black kpop fans to still have a place to enjoy themselves, cuz in the beginning she didn't bother blackkpopfans at all. So you know, everything was innocent and nice enough in the beginning. The theme was pink, white, and a lil bit of yellow? Nice and bright, the layout was attractive, things were tagged properly. People talked about how excited they were for certain groups comebacks. Comeback info for groups was actually posted. It was just a welcoming place. Along with discussions of new releases there were also fans submitting legitimate fanaccounts, and alot of them came with video or footage. And that aspect was fun too, it was nice seeing black fans interact with their favorite groups, especially at the time where I think alot of us were kinda scared due to the known antiblackness and the subsequent environment on tumblr. So people posted how they met so and so at the airport or restaurant and posted selfies and I swear no one was being cringe, we, the fans, were just enjoying thus exchange of information. Also, there people actually were still discussing the problematic behavior of some idols, some people said outright they didn't like a certain person and it was cool, so it felt like a good balance. Though there were one or two situations in the beginning that made me sideye a follower, I brushed it off cuz the comment seemed silly and extra at most..lmao if only I knew.

*So where did things go wrong? From my point of view...I'd say after like the first 6 months???? Maybe, but after a while the fanaccounts dried up, naturally so cuz groups don't come to the u.s or Europe that frequently anyways. But when the submission of legitimate fanaccounts dried up, the admin and some of her followers began to act a little weird. Not only that but she stopped talking about new kpop and I think that's when the atmosphere legitimately shifted for the worse. Yes were there some people I sideyed before it yeah but I can pinpoint exactly when that space went to a point of no return: when the fan submissions were few and far between and the discussions became less relevant to kpop and more so to how (insert kpop idol or group) just looooves him some chocolate. Yeah it got really messy really quick.

* So after that shift I kinda bounced cuz I just wasn't comfortable interacting with her or her tumblr when I saw what it became and I actually think a good bit of us left after a while. Lmao after I left tho, everytime I popped my head in to see what was going on, things just kept getting worse and soon the admin and her minions started attacking not only blackkpopfans admins but also girls who contacted her requesting their fanaccounts and/or pictures be removed due to the blatant fetishism going on. One prominent incident was when those two sisters, can't remember their names, but they were being harassed after they asked the admin to take down their video or pic of them meeting Zion T.

* I haven't checked on her at all really after those incidents that happened but I still see that she's still up to no good and she's as delusional as ever. Oh! Wait another thing she'd do is write fanfic fanaccounts but then not tell people it was fanfic so people were being tricked to believe those were actually fanaccounts until someone made her clarify. Whew chile. Now I see she's still busy with making bad photoshop edits.

* Overall I really hope she snaps out of it but I don't think I can truly forgive her for preying on the insecurities of young black girls and women who obviously were/are in need of validation. While I understand the desire to be desired, that's not the way to go and it ultimately ends up with hurt feelings and an even worse self esteem. I am glad black kpop tumblr is in a better place now where there's room and acceptance for laughter and lighthearted fangirling or what have you while also room to have tough discussions.

**side note- okay lil shade, not directed to any of my mutuals though, but lol some of yall who be dragging sis be knowing ALOT about what's going on over there lmao and I'm always wondering how you stay up to date on a person who's content you don't fuck with. Like I don't like ole girl and I hardly hear about her unless something really extra goes viral. Do you though, it's all love, I'm just teasing you lol**

Lately, me=long text posts. Sorry. :)

This post is for @immerso-sims, mostly, but also might be of interest to people who use Almighty Hat's age mod that makes lifestage lengths proportional to the 3-day length of Sim gestation. (So, basically, 4 Sim-days=1 real year because real pregnancy is roughly 3/4 of a year long.) I'm mostly making a post because the reply got too long and I didn't want to reblog. :)

The overall goal of Hat’s mod is to make a Sim's lifetime relatively realistic in that that lifestage lengths remain realistically proportional. So, you don't have toddlers who are toddlers for the same amount of time that they're infants when toddlerhood ought to be roughly 3-4x longer than infancy, or teenhood that lasts twice as long as childhood when, realistically, it ought to be roughly the other way around, if you figure childhood starting at age 5, when most kids start kindergarten, and teenhood being 13-18.

Anyway, the issue we were talking about a little was the elder lifestage transition which, with this mod in, happens when the sim is “only” 184 days/46 years old. Now, granted, this happens after the Sim has had 112 days/28 years of adulthood, so at that point you might be very ready to move on. :) But the thing is that Sims can then possibly be an elder for a very long time after that, depending on how many aspiration "bonus points" they get at their adult-to-elder age transition. And by "very long," I mean 200+ days of elderhood, about twice the length of the very long adult lifestage.

It does take patience and a lack of things going screwy with the neighborhood -- which, let’s face it, things tend to happen with that even if you do nothing “wrong” -- but it you make it through a couple generations, you start to notice that a significant percentage of your population is slouchy, shuffling, gray-haired things that, although they may only be 50 years old, look like they're about 1 day away from the grave. :) This happened in a neighborhood I played a while back, where I made it to the second born-in-game generation being in their teens before that computer died on me. So, I had a lot of shuffling elders from the founding and first born-in-game generation kicking around. It just seemed kind of...off. Granted, this is likely because my Sims tend to be very happy pixel people, in general, because I play according to their wants, so they get lots of those age-transition bonus points. One can affect this with mods that alter how aspiration points are accumulated and how quickly they decay. I tried some of those mods, in fact, but ultimately didn't like them. I guess I like my happy, mostly-platinum pixel people. ;)

Anyway, Hat's reasoning for the relatively early onset of elderhood in her scheme is simple: 1) Female Sim elders can't get pregnant, at least not without alternate pregnancy controllers, so elderhood ought to hit about the time that women enter perimenopause, which is usually in their mid/late 40s, at which point it's very unlikely that a woman will get pregnant without artificial hormonal assistance. Also, it's apparently very hard to stretch ACR's fertility curve past that age, for folks who use ACR and allow it to dictate how many babies a couple will have. And 2) For real humans of both sexes, age of death varies widely. Some people die relatively young from a massive heart attack at 50 or from cancers or other health issues. Some people live to be 100. Which is a 50-real-year/200 sim-day difference. For this reason, it makes sense to have a 200+-day-long elderhood, to reflect these real-life possibilities, for those striving for realism. If you don’t have pretty-much-permanently-happy Sims, you would possibly see that range of death ages. But for me? Not so much. Most of mine seemed to be the living-to-100 type. :)

But even if that wasn’t the case...I don't need quite THAT much realism in my game. :) Really, I just want more time with my pixels, so that I can do things like let them have true days off that aren't dedicated to frantically skilling so that they can get those 2 skill points they need for their next promotion. The pixel has plenty of time to get that promotion and still make it to the top of their career, so they can take a day or 10 and just sit at their current job level for a while and do purposeless-but-fun things on days off. At the same time, I don't want a neighborhood where the largest percentage of the population is young-but-very-old-looking elders. And while, yes, I could do things to make elders look less-old-looking in my game (non-gray hairs in the elder bin, clothing that uses the adult body meshes, etc.), A) I don’t want the CC and B) Even if I had it, I probably wouldn’t bother because then the young-looking elders with that elder voice is kinda...strange, probably because I’m a very aurally-oriented person.

So, I've often thought about fiddling with the age of elder transition in Hat's mod, but what put me off was the thought of also having to alter its accompanying modded ACR controller, to adjust the fertility curve accordingly. So, I reread Hat's notes about doing that before I went to bed, and kinda went "Eh, I don't think so." But then, when I woke up, it struck me that I don't really HAVE to mess with the controller.

As it is, fertility is cut off for females at around age 46 (Hat said that it actually ends a few days after that), which is about where it ought to happen, IMO. I looked it up and, according to the Mayo Clinic, the median age of the start of perimenopause is 47.5. I mean, yeah, some insane women these days are birthing babies at 50, but generally speaking they usually need some sort of hormonal intervention to do so. It doesn't often happen naturally that way. So if you leave the ACR controller as-is but push back the elder age transition to, let's say, 70/280 days instead of 46/184 days...You suddenly have middle age, which is something that I've kind of wanted in the game. You basically have me, in fact: Through menopause and therefore infertile, and, yes, with a lot of gray hair if I'm not assiduous about coloring it, but not (yet) heavily wrinkled and hunchbacked and decrepit with a scratchy, grandma-sounding voice. Yeah, such female Sims could get pregnant if you use the manual/Maxis way, but since I rarely do that...? (And if I wanted to, I could, and call it “hormonal intervention.” ;) ) So, this actually makes sense to me. In fact, I could even make Sims in that stage look middle-aged. Give them some graying hairs, put a few wrinkles on their face, perhaps dress them a little more conservatively because most middle-aged bodies ARE a bit gravity-challenged so most of us don't run around in midriff-baring tops and short-short skirts, but we're not yet shambling and decrepit. Do that and then, when the elder transition does hit, it's not quite so shocking and sudden a physical difference.

So, basically lop off 100 days from that possible elderhood with Hat's mod and make a (sort of) functional middle age out of it. In turn, this makes the "adult" stage more like a "younger adult" stage, when they'll focus more on raising young children, if they have kids, and maybe not hitting the top of their career until that middle age which, again, would be more realistic than a pack of 25-year-old CEOs and whatnot.

So, tl;dr: I'm going to fuss with Hat's aging mod to push back the elder transition while leaving the modded ACR controller as-is, thus creating a quasi-functional, infertile (for females) “middle age.” I'm going to start up a little testing neighborhood and toss in some testing Sims to check the fertility percentages and whatnot, see if it works like I'm hoping it will.

Also, immerso, I’ll put together a list of the “supporting” mods I have, hopefully with links. It’s actually not that many, especially because a couple of them affect Freetime things, which you don’t have because Mac. (Gah, I don’t think I’d like playing without secondary aspirations. :( ) And of course, if you do decide to play a neighborhood with this mod, I can share the tweaked aging if it works like I hope, since no SimPE for you. :)
