Work.

You hated it. Especially if you've been here since 4 in the morning and it's only getting started.

The days till you have to put in the reports on the daggers were coming closer each minute.

It was torture. You didn't mind the whole flying part of your job; you loved it over the moon but the paperwork. Not just any ordinary paperwork. Jake's.

What were you supposed to write. That he's an arrogant, cocky, handsome devil that you'd let him fuck you into next month's Sunday. Yeah, that's definitely off the table.

You haven't seen him since the teasing game of pool and the watch. His watch. It lies on your nightstand. Every single morning you wake up and check the time on his watch.

You have a phone right beside you. Two centimeters away from your hand but because it's his… That's why you use it.

Days like this are slow. Probably the slowest in existence. You're buried in piles of paperwork and files.

Right now you're working on Paybacks. His abilities are top notch and his biggest priority besides the mission's aim is to get his WSO home, to him that's more important than himself.

You're about to fall asleep while there's a loud but sudden knock on the office door.

"It's open," you say waked, straightening your uniform quickly and elegantly sitting back into the chair.

"Well hello, angel," that Texan accent you could recognize from miles away. In his voice there's still some of that morning rasp. It's only quarter to 9 but for you it's like 6 in the evening.

"Hangman," you say closing over the opened file book and leaning further back into the black leather chair as Jake takes a seat in one of two empty chairs at the other side of the table.

"You say that with such disappointment and disgrace, I seen the way your eyes lit up when my presence entered," he smirks, his tone is more smooth now, more awake, happy, illuminated.

"I'd be happy if a rodent came in here at this point, but I see that one just entered," you smirk.

"Oh you little bitch, daddy thought you no manners?" He says cocking his head to the side, that smirk of his own coming onto his face.

"I'm working on your file right now, Bagman. Wanna call me a bitch again?" You say getting up, placing the file book onto a shelf and bring a stack of papers with it.

"You know I mean a bitch as a good thing, right? Like a compliment!" Ridiculous that's what he is and you can't help but smile at this. He never changed and never will. He's a Seresin after all.

"Nice try. Now what do you need?"

"You."

"What?" You squeak out, turning around from the shelf to see the crossed legged devil himself looking up at you.

He gets up which causes you to take a step back, your back hitting off the shelf making yourself cornered as he moves forward and holds out his arm onto the side of the shelf and leans into you.

"Since you're about to end our little check-in and might move to another station, I wanna take you on a date," he says, those green eyes in line with yours, height difference non existing to him.

He caught you wayyyyyyyyyyy of guard. Jakob Thomas " Hangman " Seresin the second just asked you out and you're too stunned to answer.

Wow. You weren't expecting this, today or even ever.

"Shit, sorry if I came on too strong there. I had a while entire plan and everything but I just haven't been able to spend time with you for so long and in always wanted to take you out bu-" you cut him off with placing your finger on his lip making him look down at you but all you do is smile.

He gently grabs your wrist and removes your finger if those delicate, rosy lips of his and he continues.

"It's just ever since I saw your dad at the Hard Deck, for some reason I thought you'd be with him. I know that's ridiculous, your not a child anymore but I just wanted to see you again, talk maybe, I don't know," he says which makes you beam even more.

He just told you that you were on his mind after all this time. Even before you came back to top gun. You were on his mind. Now that's just pure wow.

"If you really wanted to talk with me so bad, you could've asked my dad for my new number," you place your hand on his cheek, the heat of your palm against those calmed features feels right.

"I know but I wanted to see you in person," he admits, leaning in forward, distance barely exists anymore. You can feel his breath against you and those lips were so close. With just a lean they could be against yours.

"Well cowboy, take me out on your date then."

"Free tonight?"

"Tonight"

"So..." Javy wiggled his eyebrows. "Tonight's the big date night, right? Are you hyped?"

"Yeah." He tried to say it confidently but the crack in his voice sold him out. He sighed and slouched his shoulders. "I'm nervous."

"Why? It's not like you guys haven't gone out before."

"It's not the date I'm nervous about..." he admitted. "It's what could happen when we get back."

"Oh?" Javy responded with a suggestive tone and an eyebrow raised. "Since when is that something you worry about? I know it's been a while but we were roommates at one point. I'm well aware that you have plenty of experience. And it's not like you've never done it with her before."

"Jesus Javy"

"Well then my advice would just be to go for it and whatever happens, happens. I'm sure it's been a while for her too. She's probably just as nervous. Just enjoy each other; you guys have been waiting too long for this just to let some dumb nerves get in the way."

"I guess you're right," Jake sighed.

You dug up half your wardrobe not finding anything to wear. Every outfit just doesn't seem right. With another sigh you keep digging through more clothes as your phone rings.

"Hi. I'm almost there."

"No. No... No, you're not."

"No, I'm not. Sorry. Um, are you?"

"No! Uh... Does this restaurant have a dress code?"

"Uh... no. I mean, you could wear cargo shorts if you wanted."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I mean, what does it matter, as long as you're comfortable?"

"Nice try. That was clearly a test. ( Laughs ) And you should know better than to test the master."

( Scoffs ) "What are you wearing?"

"Yeah, um, I don't know yet, but I do have a lot of outfits that I am not going to wear, so... Well, we are running low on time."

"Traffic's getting ugly."

"Yeah, totally. I... It's silly. I just need to make a decision..... Uh, yes. The green dress. It is decided."

"Great. Well, I-I'll see you soon."

"Okay. Bye."

'No. Oh, my God.' definitely not the green dress.

"You look beautiful," he says as you both are enjoying your meals. He looks handsome, with the hair slipped back and white t-shirt.

"And you look equally as handsome," you say taking a sip of the red wine you were served. The professional man is gone and instead it is the eyes of one who loves deeply. If it were anyone else you would drop your gaze, but with him you're drawn in closer, always wanting more. Then he says the words you need to hear, "We're ok, you and me. Okay?" You just nod, taking in every moment for your memory, knowing it is the medication you need to survive the next few days. In all the world there isn't another like him, or you for that matter; you are two souls who feel like once upon another reality we were soul mates, eternal flames. "Why did it take you so long to ask me out?" you ask, catching him way off guard.

"What?" He did not expect you to ask that, not now not ever. He's shocked that you did ask about it.

"Oh Jakob, from the moment I walked into the hard deck I knew that you wanted to fuck me."

"I did not." He held his hands up to his chest like a sign of fake offence.

"You sure did!"

"Haze, I did not." He says moving closer to you in the booth you sit in and the distance between the two of nearly doesn't exist. "Well I think you definitely did," you say as you feel his breath on you and still continue to annoy him.

You're trying to be indifferent. It doesn't do to let someone with an ego like his know how much power he has. You don't lean in, don't make it easy or seem too keen. Then he brushes your hair back from your shoulder and moves in so close you can feel his lean body pressed up against you. You feel his warmth and already your mind has placed your lips together.

But instead he leans in to caress your neck, slow and gentle. He's making you wait and you can hardly bare it. You want his lips now, you want his kisses. Then he cups your face in his hands and gives you what he knows you want.

His kiss is not at all the same as those movie stars, but one steeped in a passion that ignites. It is the promise of realness, of the primal desire that lives in us all. And with it he tells me that he is awake, connected within, that he embraces himself rather than hide as a copy of those romantic idols.

"That was wow," you say subconsciously as he smirks, putting a loose strand of hair behind your ear. He's such a gentleman and he's doing everything to make you fall for him more.

"It sure was," he says smirking leaning in for another kiss but your phone ringing interrupts.

"It's nothing." You say looking down at your phone as he takes his hand off your cheek.

"You sure?" he ask with a look that tells you he doesn't mind if you answer or not. He always didn't mind things like this, he always approved.

"I'm sure," you say leaning in kissing him again. You both forget the people around you, each consumed in the other. A small smile spreads over his lips and his face comes closer to yours slowly. His nose nudges yours gently making you giggle and his smile widens before he finally presses his lips to yours tenderly. His hands hold you close, your chests pressing together and keeping you warm as he kisses you slowly and tenderly, wanting to savor the moment.

"I'll get the bill and we'll leave," he says, feeling like the two of you are done in the restaurant for the night.

"Nah-ah, I'm paying," you say reaching into your wallet but he gently grabs your wrist.

"I wouldn't be a gentlemen if I let you pay," he says lifting your gaze and smirks.

"Jake, you're forgetting I know you. You're far from a gentlemen. And I never let people pay for me on the first date," you say getting up and getting out of the booth the two of you sat in.

"What about on the second date?" He asks cheekily.

"Who said anything about a second date?" You answer sheepishly.

"You know I loved tonight," you say as the two of you stand in front of your apartment.

"I loved tonight to," He says smiling down on you.

"Jake..."

"Mhhmmmm?"

"I'm so sorry for all the pain I've caused you. You probably don't want to talk about it, but...After that night with everything going on, I felt so dead in the inside because I knew already how bad I hurt you. I didn't expect for you to forgive me and I guess I felt even worse when you did. I blamed everyone and everything, but myself and for that I'm truly sorry. I wont ever in life do it again. I also know that my promises haven't been very credible, but if I ever hurt you like this again-I want you to never come back to me, okay?" you asks, he bending down to kiss your forehead. He nod his head. He couldn't help, but feel touched by this. You finally opened up to that night. He finally got a look into your head.

"Angel, whatever happens in between us, I'm never letting you go again okay."

"Okay..."

It's finally finished! My debut album! I'm so proud of this, she's my baby. Thank you for being patient over these last 6 years. We've had singles, we've had EPs and now an ALBUM.

To thank you, one more single off the album before she's all yours. The song the whole project is named after, 'I know it won't work' is yours!

Since leaving Lando's in the summer, y/n had worked non stop on the album. She was right in telling him it wouldn't work as they now were speaking less than they ever had. Hence the blatantly obvious title track written solely about him. She put her soul into this album, songs that were personal to her every experience.

Everyone would interpret them differently, one of the things she loved about her art. But he'd know and in the back of her mind she worried for his reaction. Would he be happy? Would he be hurt?

Beautiful song. Call me sometime.

That was it. A simple message as if he knew she was worrying. It was just enough to calm her. She left his in May it was now September. Things were fine for a month, until calls got few and far between how she'd expected. It was normal she knew they'd come back to each other but this one hurt more, maybe because she felt his promises were now empty.

July was worse as Lando was spotted with some model she'd not heard of. She wasn’t one to believe gossip pages, so when she saw she couldn't think quick enough before her hands had type a message to Pietra, her inside woman when it came to Lando gossip due to her boyfriend and his 'bromance' as they call it.

Pietra confirmed they were causally seeing each other. Empty promises. Y/n found herself infatuated with the mystery girl, leading to her writing one of her songs 'Lacy' off her new album.

The song she is performing tonight at the Brits. She's beyond nervous. Not speaking to Lando before hand like she usually would isn't helping. She's on in 30 minutes and her brain is racking up all the things that could go wrong. But he's not hers to call anymore.

Pietra was there but she was engrossed in her phone, not aware of y/n’s mental termoil.

Y/n’s phone rings... Lando. She doesn't want to give in but God does she need these nerves to go.

"Hi Lan, long time no speak." She sighs out of awkwardness.

"P told me you're a surprise guest at the Brits? Why didn't you tell me? I'm so proud of you y/n/n." He cheers. She can hear the smile in his voice talking like nothing had changed, like she hadn't just released a song about how much she dreaded the idea of them together.

"I wasn't meant to tell anybody, you know."

"I'm not anybody though, y/n/n." He sounds hurt now. That's not what she meant. She just wasn't sure he cared anymore. She'd been ignoring him after she found out about his mystery girl leading them to only drift further apart. "What are you singing tonight? The song about me or..." he teases.

She's glad he gets it, she's glad he's not angry.

"Um, well. No. Well it's not the latest song if that's what's your asking?" She stutters, it's not the one he's heard, but not far fri being about him.

"Another one about me? Oh I am flattered. Can this one be a little happier this time. I wasn't all bad in our friendship."

"Oh this one is sort of about you, but not really. And it's not happy I'm sorry, I wrote it when I was a little crazy but it's too good to not release." She's rambling, he knows she's nervous whether it be about the performance about the song abour talking to him, he can sense it.

"10 minutes!" Someone yells form outside her dressing room

"Lan I've got to go. Thank you for calling. We'll speak soon?" Another empty promise.

"Y/n/n, wait. You'll smash it you know. You're amazing at what you do, everyone will love it whatever it's about."

He always knew what she needed to hear, she hated that about him. She hated that they were still so in sync. But he's with someone else, it won't work.

As she steps on stage, smoke circles around her feet. The lights so bright she can barely see the crowd, it makes it easier.

"Lacy, oh Lacy..."

The cheers were deafening, she'd never felt more acknowledged, more proud. Tears in her eyes she hugs her guitarist so tight. She's proud of herself, her hard work paying off.

She doesn't stick around for press, the alcohol she downed after her performance would throw all PR training out the window. Pietra joins her to continue the party back at her London flat.

A couple of drinks more and P makes her way home to Max, leaving Pippa alone once more. A little too drunk to control her best interests, picking up her phone. Clicking Lando. It rings and rings until,

"Y/n, it's 2am where you are! What's wrong?"

"Lan! I did it! Did you see me? Of course you didn't, but I did it! I wish you were here." Why did she say that, but she didn't care right now she wanted him to be proud of her.

"Of course I saw y/n/n. Would never miss something like that. You're so talented, unbelievably talented."

"Lando who's on the phone"

Y/n heard it, the girl she's penned as Lacy. Embarrassment flushes her already red face from the alcohol.

"I didn't realise you had company, I'll leave you to it. Im sorry." A lump forming almost instantly in her throat. The alcohol heightening her emotions, although they were very real, just never this on the surface.

"Don't be sorry. I'll sit in the living room, we haven't spoke in so long please don't hang up. Please." She can't say no, she could never say no. He has a hold on her. They both know it, it infuriates her, causing her to blurt out emotions she saved only for writing sessions never to his face.

"You broke your promise." So quiet he almost missed it.

"What promise?"

Ouch.

"You promised to wait for me. You said it'd be different. We speak less than we ever have. I'm losing you and you're losing me. It's supposed to be us Lando. Now its you two."

"You never gave me a chance, y/n/n. You never gave me a chance in our friendship nor a relationship. You got fixated that it would be bad, you pushed me away not the other way around."

"I'm scared that's why! Not because I don't want you because I'm terrified it'll ruin what we have."

"Well we don't even have that anymore."

Double ouch.

"I'm going to go. I'm sorry I shouldn't have called."

"Y/n/n- wait- I-" He stutters, he doesn't know what he wants to say, he just doesn't want her to go. The girl in his bed is a pass time, he even thinks she's aware of it. She's enjoying her 5 minutes of fame, nice holidays and dinners knowing she's a place holder for the one he can't have.

"Bye Lan"

Tears finally leave her eyes, built up from 2 years of fighting for each other to end with nothing. Why was she so scared of the one thing she wanted? She hated herself right now. She couldn't stop crying from such a high to such a low. She reached to her phone which was still pinging with messages from Lando. Switching it off the tears fell and fell staining her blush coloured pillows.

This is all wrong and she's not sure it'll ever be right.

WIP Questionnaire

Thank you kindly for the Tag, @theprissythumbelina !

1. What is the first part of your WIP that you created?

Well, the Setting, probably, which as an answer works for just about any of the WIPs I could name. In theory you could argue Gustav and the Magician, individually and as a 'set' of sorts, technically predate my coming up with the 12 Worlds, but the form they took then has only passing resemblance to their current incarnation.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

Ooo, well, I've been thinking I'd probably see about getting something original made, or making something myself as a side thing. I mean, I kinda envision a lot of my WIPs as serial animations in my head anyhow, so I've put more thought into this question than reality is ever likely to require.

3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?

Well... You know how big this list could be. I love all of them, and at any moment which forces / allows me to dig deeper into any single one of them makes me love them even more. Still, my final choice is an obvious one: Gustav Johann Schmidt, who's been in it since the very start, and who's voice has by now almost become my own whenever he comments on some facet of his world in the same way I would.

4. What other pieces of media do you think your fan base would share?

Hmm, well, I've always thought this would go down two tracks. First of all being the classic 'Techno Thriller' crowd, the sorts who like tanks going boom and spies under deep cover: I'd go with things like The Hunt For Red October and Red Storm Rising, both being stalwarts of the genre which have absolutely been personally inspiring. The second track goes down the wider book / writing community, or at least those looking for 'genre fiction' and all that, who might discover the 12 Worlds more on its fantastical or worldbuilding grounds than for its techno thriller nature: I don't really 'understand' what I'd mean by this cohort myself as much, but I guess it could include series like ASOIAF, possibly.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?

Well... If we're speaking in the past tense, as far as things that have already happened go I'd put forwards "making sure the worldbuilding exists and isn't utterly contradictory", since there's too little writing down so far to count for a big struggle. Dates are hard, and measuring things on the order of decades to a century leaves me with a lot of uncomfortable dead space on one hand, and a bunch of events clustered together on the other. Untangling this has to happen before the writing does, to me, and it's gonna be hellish.

6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Uhh... Technically, Snake In The Sandbox (Gustav's third and least brought up WIP) features two animals! One's a snake which literally scares G's shirt off when he finds it in his tent, and the other's some sort of desert lizard the 18th Corps adopts as its mascot.

7. How do your characters get around? (Ex. Trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

Oh, probably their respective combat vehicles more than anything, though long distance stuff gets done by plane / aeroship, and getting between Worlds means ships for everyone. Non military types might get their own car, or plane.

8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?

Technically brought this up already, but the answer's worldbuilding. It's always worldbuilding. Though within that category, I'm technically supposed to be writing up a piece on the UC' policy towards Goilac / Nouvoulouis pre SSAW, but... I have been having a lazy weekend.

9. What aspects (tropes, maybe) of your WIP do you think will draw people in?

Big flashy boom booms and cunning military tactics, strategy, and leadership on the one hand for sure, but I'd like to think the depth, history, and life that exists within the 12 Worlds might have some appeal to readers.

10. What are your hopes for your WIP?

Published novel, or really a few considering how many there are already for the 12 Worlds. Then... Well, I think I've got a few ideas in me for the Setting yet.

Guilty Pleasure Kdramas - Descendants of the Sun.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon I rewatched Descendants of the Sun. For all its flawed writing, an ending twist that none of us needed, I still love this drama and the main reason is how charming Song Joong Ki is as Captain Yoo Si Jin. SJK is not a strong built muscular man - the ones who would usually fit the bill of an army captain. The script writer even takes a jovial dig at this when Kim Ji Won’s character says he looks like a girl. Despite his slim face and petite frame he carries off the role with lot of panache. You can’t take your eyes off the screen everytime he is on it.

His confessions of love I can rewatch many times. No wonder the line should I confess or should I apologise went viral when the show aired and still features amongst the top dialogues in KDramas.

YooSiJin is witty and sarcastic, confident and brave, empathetic with strong morals, charming at flirting and dropping lines that are cheesy, but will still make your heart flutter and as a bonus is handsome. What’s not to love about him?

SHK looks gorgeous and while I am not a fan of her acting, I couldn’t stop being in awe of how pretty she looked in what are simple day outfits - cotton dresses , linen shirts and shorts rightly suiting the climate the drama is based in. The wardrobe I aspire to have! Once back to Korea she is in baggy trousers, long jumpers or scrubs and still looks ethereal.

This is the first drama of Kim Ji Won that I watched and her chemistry with JinGoo was sizzling! I was as invested in the second leads as I was in the main leads. While the angst and breakup owing to the father dragged on, at no point did those two bore you.

SJK and JinGoo’s bromance is also amongst my favourite bromances in Kdramaland. Despite the clear difference in their army ranks - their loyalty , respect , unwavering support and love for each other was evident in every single frame.

I can rarely enjoy dramas if the supporting cast is not good and this one has a good squad in the medical and army gang who kept the atmosphere light and funny. The white actor as the villain was unbearable to watch and later in my kdrama journey I would realise this is the norm - they are just bad actors and maybe dramas don’t have the budget to hire good non-Korean actors.

Not to forget to mention that this drama’s soundtrack remains amongst my top 3! YoonMiRae’s Always remains my top Kdrama song ever!

People call the drama cheesy, the plot all over the place, and that the last twist of back from the dead in the last two episodes dragged the show down! I don’t debate any of this and ultimately we all have our guilty pleasures. Guilty pleasures are exactly this - we know they are flawed, but if watching the drama gives you joy, you will keep rewatching it. As I do with DOTS - because even after 4 years and multiple rewatches, I can’t get over the charm of Song Joong Ki as Captain Yoo Sijin. I have since loved him in Vincenzo and ReBorn Rich, but both had no romance plots and I would really like him back on my screen wooing his lady love!

Currently watching: Ohhh I'm in the middle of watching Turn, but I had to put it on the backburner while I'm not home (me and my roommate are watching together) but it was really starting to pick up! I watched a couple episodes of House of Dragon on a plane. (I have never watched GoT before lolol)

Three ships: ahh ouuuhhh hMmm....? (This is hard for me I'm a chew on 1 ship at a time for at LEAST a year kind of girl lmaooo I really don't have many)

Those robots made me believe in love wtf? 😭" Anyways I don't think middle school me knew what shipping was but yet but I think I classify that as "shipping behavior" lmaooo

Edit: wait....I forgot before that.....I was a Team Jacob Twilight reader 😔😔😔 (That didn't last long after I got through the final book though. Never expected that baby imprinting curve ball 😬)

Currently working on: Many silly fanfics about those three blorbos from the Kingdom where weather follows decrees but a lot are getting half done then abandoned 🫣 oops

But also in the middle of painting the garden at my mom's family home. He’d even put a gold bow on it. “Uh, right. Sure.” Dean gingerly opened the box to reveal the heavy, dark ring inside. “I know you’re not one for jewellery these days,” Castiel said, picking up one of the other files from the pile beside Dean. “But I thought you might like this. It’s iron. Hand-forged.” Dean looked up at him wordlessly. Castiel shrugged. “You have repeatedly expressed your desire to punch a ghost in the face. This should assist you in that.” “Shit, Cas.” Dean slid the ring onto his finger, expression inscrutable, until his eyes flickered back over to Castiel and his face broke into an absurdly dazzling grin. “You get me.” Castiel swallowed, his throat feeling inexplicably dry. “Past events would indicate so,” he said when he felt comfortable speaking again. Dean didn’t seem to notice his hesitation. He curled his hand up into a fist and examined the ring from several different angles. “What are these etchings?” he asked, holding his hand up to his face and squinting at it. “Enochian protection runes. I didn’t know if they would work on such an uneven surface, but the artist I commissioned to engrave it did a remarkable job.” She hadn’t even blinked when he had shown her the pattern, nor had she had any intrusive follow-up questions, which Castiel had greatly appreciated. He still wasn’t particularly good at improvising cover stories. “Huh.” “There’s also…” he trailed off, and Dean looked up sharply. “What?” “Well, the sigils. They’re similar to the ones I carved into your ribs.” Dean grinned, which was not the response Castiel had expected. “Thought I recognised this one,” he said, tapping delicately at a sigil with the nail of his pinky finger, and yes, of course he would pick that one. “That’s my name,” Castiel said, and Dean went still. “My true, angelic name. 1 - What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don’t care about anymore?

Ron and Hermione. But I was basically offline for most of my teen years so it was a private obssession.

2 - Which ship would you consider your first one?

From the anime Kodomo No Omocha, the anime was called Rossana In Italian, still the best theme song in the world, that song is basically instand magic nostalgia button for me, I was a child and basically the age of the characters when I watched it, maybe a year or two older, they bewitched me body and soul.

3 - Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

Written, I have never written anything that could be consider fanfic. Maybe once I wrote a single scene fic for an Italian Show but that's it.

Read on AO3: Stranger Things post s1 fics and Still Star Crossed fics were the first fandoms. I don't have the old fanfiction.net account and my shitty memory doesn't let me remeber shit from that time so, I will go with that.

4 - Do you remember the first couple you saw fanart of?

Not really, my memory is bad. Maybe Stydia, teen wolf was my first tumblr fandom along side GMW. Or Shameless.

5 - Did you ever get into ship discourse?

I have been aware of ship discourse. And I once pettily unfollowed someone because they shipped my NOTP at the time. But not really.

6 - Did you used to have a NOTP or have any currently?

I did used to consider ship NOTPs, but I don't currently use that term anymore, I am way into my ship and let ship era. I don't feel like any of the ship I dislike now are strong enough to be a notp. Even if there are a few that almost qualified.

7 - Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

Got curious because someone mention some Nick/Sand and some Nick/Sand/Ray stuff on my dash and looked up some Only Friend fics for the first time since the show ended.

8 - Currently do you have any OTPs?

Too many. I have been mostly watching BLs and QLs recently. Honestly shipping as become a little more low-key recently. I can love a ship and even read fanfic for them (although small confession I am becoming far more picky and It's super hard now to read a fic I enjoy especially in the BL sphere). And I am watching so many shows at the same time I don't think any of them could be called an OTP, in that omg I am so obsessed with them way. I feel like my attention is too split for that.

Not that I am not enjoying having so many ships and couples to choose from, I love it here in BL land.

If I had to pick a single ship that is consuming me body and soul like stuff used to I have to go with PheeNon from Dead Friend Forever, because this show put itself in my head and is going to stay there until it's over.

9 - Is there any couple that to this day you are extremely mad about them not getting together?

Does it have to be an old ship?? Because I only rember some recent stuff.

Not sure, I have come around a couple of BL ships I didn't initially like at first viewing. Nothing special though.

I am not sure, I used to be the kind of person that followed canon and didn't get the appeal of crackships at the time. Or shipping non canon ships.

I guess maybe some het ships that I know now either have a very obviously gay coding (both or just one) or it's more common to put in a gay ship. But I am not sure anything too controversial.

I kind of read some early Mame fanfics and enjoy some of the mame ships does count?

12 - What’s your favourite crack ship?

Taking crack fic too mean there is basically no evidence of this in canon and there is little to no fics about them.

Ming/Yo from 2Moons (the og) I will die on this hill, the actor that played these two had amazing chemestry.

Anwar and Maxxie from Skins Gen 1. There are 3 fics of them on ao3. 3!!!! I feel like the only person that see this.

13 - Who is the couple you’ve read the most fanfics of?

I think maybe it's either Hannigram or Buck and Eddie from 911 a show I am feeling very over right now. So that will definately change.

14 - What do most of your ships usually have in common?

Not much. I enjoy different types of dynamics.

15 - What do you absolutely hate in a ship?

I have come to a point where if I can see the chemestry and I like the characters and I can get into the characters head and I think the relationship is interesting I can forgive bad or clunky writing. Or tropes like miscommunication and noble idiocity.

There is one trope that almost always kills a ship for me. Years long seperation in the final act. This is pretty much a bl only trope. But I have seen it in Het shows before I think.

I can understand a seperation for a couple of weeks or even months due to externel pressures and maybe some noble idiocity, or even something like I need to sort myself out a little first like Until We Meet Again. I don't love it. But it's fine. But YEARS!! That shit pisses me off. That is why even if I can understand the writing decision behind I hold a grudge over Ghost Host, Ghost House. I understand it was a good drama and the writing was good and the ship is cute. BUT I HATE THAT TROPE.

Titan Maximum #1: "Pilot" | September 27, 2009 - 11:30PM | S01E01

Ah, thank goodness I’m done with Robot Chicken. Now I can finally move onto greener pastures to… oh, eat shit.

TItan Maximum was created by one or some of the Robot Chicken people and animated by Shadow Machine, who animated Robot Chicken and Moral Orel and oh! So much more. It’s fairly Robot Chicken-eseque in it’s look and humor. It’s a fairly straight-forward sitcom, parodying Voltron and shows like it. It’s more grounded than Robot Chicken; there’s no fourth-wall breaking gags and the violence isn’t as gratuitous. There’s an attempt at making the action have legitimate stakes, like you’re supposed to care about the stuff happening and root for the good guys.

The main problem is the characters and the writing. Most of the show’s dialogue involves characters just being mean to each other. Everyone is snippy at each other, and the show mainly consists of characters being petty and combative. You almost get the sense that this is actually a show about a dystopian future where being friends is illegal.

I get that there’s a time-honored tradition of comedies that star unlikable protagonists. Make no mistake, I’m not saying all of these characters are complete dickheads. Some are bigger dicks than others, obviously. I just mean I can’t come up with a single example of two characters who seem like they have a nice, life-affirming relationship with one another. Everyone is dismissive and contentious of one another. It just feels so meaningless.

This pilot episode was a half hour and for some reason wouldn’t play properly on the Roku adult swim app, which is a terrible, terrible app. Like, literally, for some weird reason you can’t stream a lot of shit through it, and if you go to the browser version you get way more stuff. I don’t know why. The Roku app also puts an autoplay overlay over the closing credits and obscures what’s on screen, even when it’s technically still part of the episode.

That’s maybe the only thing the show has going for it, by the way: the closing credits song, which is (I assume) in Japanese and is very typical of your average poppy anime closing theme.

Adult Swim Shows Transition to High Definition (September 27, 2009)

In case you’re wondering, yes, I do feel bad that sometimes these little spotlights into Adult Swim’s non-episodic Miscellanea are dashed off by me, just joylessly marking the date something happened. I just sat down to type this paragraph and thought “this would’ve actually been a good thing to do research for.” I do recall this happening, though. The network had already begun future-proofing certain shows by producing them in HD. Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, Aqua Teen, and The Venture Bros. to name a few.

Also, I remember being very curious as to how 4:3 material would be handled on the network. Disappointingly, it was stretched to fill the screen. I remember people reporting that it was stretched in a manner so that the center of the screen was less warped than the edges, but I’m not sure if that was true. At the very least, I couldn’t discern such a thing. In fact, I would record certain shows on Adult Swim that were stretched on my DVD recorder, which hadn’t been calibrated to to record native 16:9 content. This meant that 16:9 stuff would wind up squished, which was an easier fix on my TV than the other way around. So it would effectively unstretch the 4:3 stuff and it looked very normal to me.

I’m not sure if they started producing the “bumps” in 16:9 before the switch. There’s definitely a noticeable difference in text size of the bumps in the early days compared to later, and I don’t know if that’s specifically attributed to the aspect ratio change or what. Also, I’m not sure why I’m wondering stuff like this out loud. Sorta makes me sound like a huge fucking loser???? (!)

i habe been thinking about the answer to this question for SOOOO LONGGGGG because i feel this has layers like here's all the different factors I have to consider

1. stardew takes place in like the 80's yeah? 🤔🤔🤔 i ignore this one most of the time. giving them cellphones is funny. its the 2020s they all just have bad cell service and dial up still

2. emilys 8 heart event shane dresses like a punk. Dude gives off "i wanted to be a goth in middle school but couldnt afford tripp pants from the mall but now im an adult and too lazy to try" vibes. maybe his music taste reflects this

these are all of the factors i have to consider when choosing what music he would listen to.. the like "game takes place during the 80s" thing is the rule i play fast and loose. I think shane would have pretty bad taste in music but once u are friends with him he's open to listening to new stuff and if you show him something new he hadn't heard before he'd say "Huh you're kind of weird aren't you 😏" making fun of you for it but secretly he'd think it was good/ he is def open to listening to new stuff. He secretly does like old school country as well. Noone knows this. You discover john denver/johnny cash cds buried under his bed (he listens to them to feel cool)

I think he would believe he had an eccentric music taste but then you'd go through his collection and its like... weezer. rhcp. maybe some metal. and ur like. This is Dad Rock Radio Tier and he'd be like "WHAT green day isnt dad rock" (i dont believe this yet but id say it to him anyway to make him mad. you understand)

you'd show him some shit like roswell kid and he'd go crazy for it even though its kinda cheesy. also he's randomly into stuff like aphex twin too.

I feel compelled to make him listen to the music i like but i know that that's wishful thinking. he's a dork that's why i like him. i might have to compound on this later when my brain works better (it takes me several weeks to form a single creative thought)

I haven't listened to any shane spotify playlists maybe i should... i do have my own playlist of songs that REMIND me of him but not necessarily stuff i think he'd listen to. I'm too embarrassed to post this 😈

I've seen a lot of people disappointed with taemins teasers and while I agree with it to an extent I wanna give kind of a different view I'm having

this feels a lot more like taemin (the person) instead of taemin (the idol). while I personally haven't been watching a lot of the work taemins been doing solo the past few months, I've seen people notice that he seems to be kind of sullen these days. with the album being called guilty, it makes me think that it's just about how he feels about having to put his career on hold to do service. if I'm thinking correctly, he may have been the longest working idol to do his service last essentially. pretty much every other 2nd gen male idol did theirs way before him and even 3rd gens getting to it now. going 13 years (2008-2021) is kind of insane for industry male idols.

but even besides that, I think guilty is kind of his key word this year. maybe he feels guilty for his service hiatus, maybe he feels guilty that he can't perform to the standards either he has for himself, or fans have for him. maybe he's just feeling something.

I will say SM sucks at promotion and they've never been good with hyping up things that they should (did y'all know that chanyeol has a single out and also the nct new team released a pre-debut song?) and releasing like 40 images over 4 days is like... what am I supposed to see here? HOWEVER... like I said, the pictures feel very much like it's just lee taemin. that's just a guy doing everyday guy things, not an idol in a photo studio. I think knowing the album title and seeing how domestic but... kind of sad, the teasers are, that this comeback is going to be raw for him.

now I do say all of this with the assumption that he had a hand in his album concept production. I'm also saying this with blatant criticism of SM. SME knows how to make music; they know music production incredibly well, but management and marketing? non existent.

anyways, I'm excited to learn more about the comeback but I agree the teasers and hype right now ain't it

JESSIE'S 2024 ROADMAP

So, I just wanted to ramble about the projects I have planned out for 2024. I've been very ambitious about some due to being able to afford to invest in them. Of course, art will forever be my #1 ambition and will continue to improve my craft. I'm always finding new ways to improve and exploring new ideas. However; I do have various non-digital art related! And I want to tell you all on my own personal blog about them and what you can look forward from me in the future!

MUSIC PROJECTS

I've actually been taking my time to figure out how FL Studios work, and how to work with it with Audacity. I've been attempting at voice training, so once I'm satisfied with my voice, I'd really love to do lyrics. I'm planning on working out something special for the first quarter of 2024. An EP called "Hear my Voice! (Existence)". I want it to be focused on the progress of HRT and Voice Training and just the idea of artistic freedom and the great feeling it is to be able to create things the way I want after being so long unable to. I don't know, 3 songs sound good for an EP. I want to be crafty and creative with them. I'd love for it to be Lo-Fi Pop Punk. As in, actual Lo-Fi, not the Synthwave kind of Lo-Fi. I want it to be the classic lower quality and lower frequency sounding music. I have a grudging respect for Lo-Fi and what it can represent, so I want to have my own take on it. The other project would be a proper album for once I get the hang of it all. I plan to call it "Celestial Wishes". I so far only have the plans for it to be Pop Punk and be very angelic sounding. I want it to be like heaven answering my wishes to finally do music. Obviously I won't sing about that-! I want it to carry the story of Ponies living life and miracles happening in various ways. How many songs ? God knows! It's only an idea thus far, and will take shape later. Right now I want to focus on making a couple of singles, maybe having one done in December still even. That and focusing on the overall theming and style I want for "Hear my Voice! (Existence)". I'll post all of these on a new Youtube Channel I've created, StardustJessie Music! Subscribe for when I start posting some!

YOUTUBE VIDEOS

I don't know how aware you are, but I do have a Youtube Channel. I primarily post Video Game Analysis Essays. I'm extremely proud of the ones I made this year, those being Deus Ex 2 and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Well, I have two more videos planned out! The first, POKEMON SUN & MOON ARE GREAT AND HERE'S WHY; Which I'm very ambitious and passionate about this idea. Everyone was very quick to defend Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon didn't get that same treatment. I want to be one to defend Sun & Moon, which I have a lot of argument for, and have a lot to say about its history and the state of pokemon in that age. I actually really hated S&M when I first played it and deeply regretted buying Ultra Sun (Which I still do.), so it's almost like a redemption arc for me! I'll have to gather up a shitload of footage though. Pokemon Red, Silver, Sapphire, Ruby, Diamond, Black, X, Alpha Sapphire, Red Team Rescue, Explorers of Sky, Gates to Infinity, Super Mystery Dungeon, Sword, Violet, Rescue Team DX, Sun, Ultra Sun, and more! These are just the pokemon games I'll have to record! Not to count other games I bring up as a precedent and examples like Persona 4 which is some 60 hours of gameplay! So yeah. It's a lengthy project. Thankfully I'm purchasing a 4TB HDD this week so I should be able to gather that much footage without a worry. I imagine I'll only have this done in a year or even 2025! It's a tough project. However; I want to also work on another video! MORROWIND WALKED SO SKYRIM COULD RUN (AWAY WITH MY MONEY); I really despite Skyrim for a lot of reasons. But I really love Morrowind. A lot of the things I see people praise Skyrim are things I genuinely believe they'd have a better time and enjoyment of those aspects if they played Skyrim. I believe I can actually get this video done in 2024 as these games are waaaaaaaaaaaay shorter than all the shit I have to play for a Pokemon project! But even then, Skyrim would be some 30 hours and Morrowind some 15, not to mention any other games I talk about. It's a great topic to analyse and I'll be very ambitious. I should get to write it sometime and have a W.I.P project in mid 2024 so it'll be my annual essay.

BOOK PROJECTS

I'm very interested in writing my own book honestly. Ever since I read Dracula I've considered writing a story that touches on similar themes and ideas and can evolve them further through the lens of 2024. I'm slowly taking shots at it. Sometimes I write a sentence or two. As any Tumblr Writer knows, it's very tough. Be on the look out! Once I have anything concrete I'll definitely post!

I believe this would be it! I don't have many individual projects, but they are ambitious and time consuming projects that I want to have done next year or have something substantial to show in 2024! There are more projects, like my Game Project which I'm very passionate about and have 74 pages of documentation of and still working on it! Since it's on very early planning stage I rather not talk too much. But maybe 2025 roadmap ? Thank you for reading this if you have at all! I just want somewhere to put all my ideas. Who knows. It'll be interesting in 2034 to look back to 22 year old me being so ambitious, while 32 year old me has those ambitions fully realised and onto new projects. This is almost like an archival of my personal artistic ambition and my passion for the crafts of Writing, Visual Arts and Music.
