Ongoing Series - Thai

Wandee Godday (Sat YT) ep 3 of 12 - I love how were getting a solid depiction of two queers just genuinely enjoying sex with each other. That’s actually rare in BL. In this case, it manages to also be weirdly adorable and cute.

Dee is such a tease. I guess Y likes a brat? 

LOOK at those bedroom eyes!

Linguistics corner: when these two are being serious, sweet, or flirty with each other they use rao/nai which is kind of old fashioned and charming and not common in BL. They move pretty seamlessly into gu/mueng and back depending on the style of convo, tho. It's FUN to hear them talk.

Let the fake relationship commence!

My Stand-In (Thai Fri iQIYI) ep 4 of 12 eps - I HAVE THOUGHTS. I'm really enjoying the sinister backbone of this show. I hope they have the courage of their convictions in that regard and lean into a kind of sexy evil revenge narrative. It was a pleasure to watch the break up and I do not want a redemption arc for Ming or a romance for us. Fuck 'em, let’s just ride a revenge train, okay Joe baby?

That’s said, I totally sniffled at the ending scene where Ming (for two years!) has been paying penance cooking for two and waiting alone. Excellent pathos. Now, I understand how they're gonna make this a full 12 eps. And I’m excited about it. Carry on!

We Are (Weds iQIYI) ep 7 of 16 - I wasn't a fan of Winny & Satang in My School President but I'm loving them in this. The thing with Q, Toey, and Chain had me hooting with laughter. I think I’m finally just easing into the relaxed absurdity of this show. The key is not to expect anything from it. Just them being tiny gay idiots.

Two Worlds (iQIYI) ep 10 fin - Someday I’d like to really enjoy a MaxNat show, but today was not that day. (I feel like ever since Between Us I’ve been generally disenchanted with established OG pairs and what they’re bringing to the table. Perhaps that’s a discussion for another day. Cherry Magic excepted, of course.) 

OK, so this final episode, they sure tried to fit a lot in. But that made the pacing better for me. So I kinda liked this weird cliff notes resolution to the story.

In conclusion:

MaxNat do a credible job with a messy script about parallel worlds, gangsters, and strange diseases cured by forest fruits. It sounds confusing because it is. The chemistry is excellent the side pair is entirely forgotten about, and one could drive a Tardis through the plot holes. Still, I found it modestly enjoyable if not at all rewatchable. 7/10 

Only Boo! (Sun YouTube) ep 6 of 12 - I do love how bold and brash Moo is. He’s truly a great character, such an utter outgoing sunshine puppy focused on his pursuit of his older boy. I'm charmed by his utter harmlessness. They gave us a sweet coming out scene, and an awesome supportive mom. Frankly GMMTV has a good track record with moms. (With a few noted exceptions, of course.)

That said, I do keep forgetting this is a GMMTV offering. It just doesn't FEEL GMMTV. Just me?

OMG Vampire (Thai Sun ????) ep 1 of 10 - Starts tomorrow, will report on sitch next week. LeeFrank are back - not unlike the undead. But how do we feel about it? Unsure given their track record.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

At 25:00 in Akasaka AKA 25 Ji Akasaka de (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - I like it. I like our sulky 2nd lead. He’s pouty, adorable, brash, and adding some much-needed tension to this narrative. The blurring lines between show within a show is a lot of fun. Probably the best I've seen done in BL so far.

Living With Him AKA Kare no Iru Seikatsu (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 6 of 10 - I like that we got backstory, but we also sort of already knew it. So this ep felt a bit like filler. They are wonderful when they’re on screen together but when they aren't it's a bit dull. I hope we just get them together for the next 4 eps. But this is Japan, so I doubt it.

Blossom Campus (Korea Thurs Gaga & iQIYI) ep 1 of 6 - The image resolution on this show (via Iqiyi ) is terrible. Meanwhile, awkward crush. Jock nerd pairing. Dorky. Maybe a bit too much awkward/dorky for me? I'm not sold on this one.

Meanwhile the ordering then not eating or drinking of food continues. Very upsetting.

Boys Be Brave (Korea Viki) eps 5-8fin - This show was just never sure what it wanted to be. Slacker sunshine KiSub moves in with nerd JinWoo, mostly because he knows JinWoo likes him but won't confess and that's never happened to him before. It reminded me of some earlier KBLs like Behind Cut, yes is had bones but not much flesh, so it only just hung together and progressed through not very much plot in a jerking rattling fashion like an animated skeleton. All the story and chemistry was with the side couple and none of the screen time. That just annoyed me. What did this BL want to BE? Who tf knows. I, for one, don’t care, and resolve to think no more on it. 6/10 

Blue Boys (Korea Sat YouTube) - This ended at 4 eps on a cliffhanger. Since this is a very small studio I don’t have a lot of faith in there being a part two. But they have bundled both this BL, and the GL, bingable chunks on YT. So if you want to binge it, it’s there. Just be aware that it ends on a cliffhanger.

My thoughts?

Promising reunion romances full of class and coming out struggles but I grade with what we got, not on expectations, and you know I HATE a cliffhanger. So yeah, it HAD promise but as of now it gets a 4/10 - fatally flawed. I reserve the right to change my mind if they amend for damages.

It's airing but...

You Made My Day (Thai YT) ep 1 of 5 - mini series staring the I Will Knock You couple Tar & Bom, started but I couldn't find it. I also didn't try very hard.

Lady Boy Friends (Thai WeTV grey) 16 eps - reminds me a bit too much of Diary of Tootsies only high school. Not my thing. DNF unless it turns a corner and is truly amazing.

A Balloon's Landing (Taiwan movie) trailer - A frustrated Hong Kong writer, Tian Yu, meets a Taipei street gangster, Xiang (Fandy Fan from HIStory2: Crossing the Line), and the two of them embark on a journey to find the Bay of Vanishing Whales. Along the way, they discover unexpected twists and turns and close bonds, which brings out the message that "there is always someone like you in this world who is waiting for you. This released to cinemas in Taiwan, no word on international release.

Hi, it’s Lorgar anon crawling back in your askbox like some kind of vermin. The way you write is just so gorgeous that I can’t stop myself from unleashing a follow-up headcanon ask to what you’ve written. Sorry in advance:

Lorgar, as you have said, has the tendency to vehemently worship. But I’m now thinking of the implications of that on the worlds he conquered. I mean, isn’t he already walking around and preaching about how much of a god his father is? What’s stopping people from starting to view you in the same light?

Because if the son of god treats you as an equal and calls you beloved, and if his sons call you “mother”. What’s stopping some agri-worlder from speaking your name during a prayer? I suppose it’s only natural, it’s so obvious to them that you’re holy.

Basically what I’m trying to say is you might accidentally become a folk saint.

Did Lorgar start it? Probably not, or at least he did it by accident. Does he encourage it when he finds out about it? Maaaaaybe. Just maybe. He can have a little bit of worship, as a treat.

Cue to you taking a trip to Monarchia and seeing a little shrine in the corner of a temple that is definitely of you (but with a halo or something). And you’re like “Lorgar please explain”. And he’s like “Let’s not explain this in front of your worshippers”. And you’re like “my WHAT-”

Well, this x reader idea is all fun and games. That is if The Emperor never found out about it. Because if he does then ohhhh boy do you have a second terrible father in law on your hands! You sure as hell wouldn’t want that to happen. But i'm sure he’d never pay attention to a planet such as Monarchia, right?

Right??

I've always sort of leaned into this idea with the Lorgar fics that he loves to worship his beloved, but it's a precarious pedestal you could fall off of at any moment. Lorgar is fickle at best, and with people like Kor Phaeron and Erebus whispering in his ear.

And in the eyes of people below him, either his legion or the people of Colchis, if he's that way to you, then clearly you're something they should pray to as well, right?

If their Primarch, lord and master, whispers praises to you and receives love in return, if his sons call you mother and raise their swords at the slightest danger, then surely altars in their homes, mumbled kneeling prayers and rosaries would earn your love as well?

Worshipping a Primarch is one thing, and even if this is 30k and they're far less treated as gods as they will be, they still see them as something beyond them. So anything attached tends to get similar treatment.

But his human lover isn't that far beyond them. You were chosen, gifted by a father or picked out from a crowd of dedicated worshipers (the story twists and changes depending on the person telling it) and rose above all the rest. To his people that is attainable, that faith has rewards.

Needless to say finding out that it's a thing let alone that Lorgar is in some way unconsciously (or consciously) encouraging it is quite the shock. Though you more than likely have little chance at stopping it at this point. You at least can get somewhat used to it, as long as no one goes absolutely insane about it.

(Lorgar also loves all of this. One of his favorite nicknames for you now is that you're his little goddess. It's usually used in more, intimate scenarios however.)

The Emperor finding out... yikes. Yet another tally for him in the reason why he's going to burn Monarchia into ash. He might take note that you aren't the one encouraging this, but at the end of the day, you and Lorgar are lumped into the same pile now.

wow it is star trek update time. last night we watched ds9's "blood oath" and tng's "journey's end," which is one of the strongest quality ricochets we've had yet.

okay, so the summary said "three klingon legends" but what i didn't realize is that they were all REAL KLINGONS FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES

i have to pain this picture for you, whoever is reading this. the three klingons in this episode appeared in "errand or mercy" "the trouble with tribbles" and "day of the dove." like, they really came back to reprise their roles almost 30 years later. i'm going to paste a picture but uhtw 60s blackface

now, if you're a tos viewer, you may recognize that fella in the middle as also having played the titular squire of gothos in. "squire of gothos." now, as an episode, i find "squire of gothos" to be pretty mid, but there is one specific scene that really did something for me. to me? it did something TO me. what it did to me was send me off the fucking deep end, i wish i could convey the depths of my madness with human words

anyway, before my good and wonderful friend so kindly made this gifset for me, i did maybe sit in front of my pc and replay the clip upwards of [mumble] times a day because i was very, very unwell. when i watched this scene for the very first time what happened to me in that single instant was the bone-deep realization that james t kirk (tos and aos) ate fascists on tarsus iv, probably, and he'd fucking do it again because nobody tastes better than a fascist! i wrote an entire fanfic about it, sorry for the spoilers.

what does squire of gothos and tarsus iv have to do with ds9? well first of all every star trek episode is secretly about tarsus iv so jot that down

but secondly, i've watched this clip so many times i have to hide my face when this man shows up in trouble with tribbles. now, i'm not so good with faces, but i KNOW THAT VOICE. but i know him AS the squire of gothos. i frequently forget entirely that he also plays a klingon, so i didn't recognize his name. so when i heard the squire of gothos's voice come out of a random klingon's mouth in ds9 my immediate kneejerk reaction was "no i am hearing things that can't be--" BUT IT WAS. i PAUSED the episode so i could look iy up, realized that the guy in the drunk tank was kor or "do you have a tongue you will be taught to use it" fame, and then to my eternal glee, kang shows up next

i remembered reading once that kang came back later and i was like ??? no one comes back later on tos BUT HE DID! I JUST HAD TO WAIT FOR IT!!!!! mystery finally solved...........

once i recognized them this episode was a blast. absolutely loving these 100 year old klingons getting ready for a rip roaring rampage of supercentenarian revenge. i was VERY sad that they died at the end but at least presumably they all died together (didnt see the last one go down but im just assuming he lived long enough to eat the albino's heart and then die)

(the albino is a really funny concept by the way like he's not even albino he's just a white klingon)

other notable things about this episode: firstly, quark hiding behind odo at the beginning. classic. secondly, dax actually being a good fighter ?!?!?! and finally, a true passing of the bechdel test where dax asked kira some alarming and upsetting questions about killing people and kira immediately took her aside and MADE her talk. i love. Women. and also women who murder people. i support womens wrongs.

i even love that the ONE time sisko doesn't back up one of his people it's for a good reason (doesn't want the 27yo reincarnation of his father figure to die on a klingon suicide mission)

10000/10, absolutely stellar ep, zero complaints

you know, we tried to give this episode the benefit of the doubt actually. we were like "maybe this was progressive in 1994. i mean they ARE saying that moving these guys forcibly would be bad" and i mean like what would we know about what was progressive in 94? we were 5. so we checked and um i don't think anybody liked it in 1994 either

devastating that THIS has to be a wesley episode bc i wanted a better sendoff for my boy. "i had a vision and now i'm leaving starfleet" and yes they said the word vision in the most derogatory way possible. jesus christ

TRAVELER ALIEN RACEFAKING? HE PRETENDED TO BE NATIVE AMERICAN TO GIVE WESLEY THE VISION? and then he was like haha don't you know all that stuff is fake. (picard earlier in this episode "i am sooo respectful of your beliefs")

furthermore when picard was like "oh yeah this guy blames me for the crimes of my colonizer ancestor" girl at no point did he say that. idk if white people should go around accusing other white people of white guilt so i don't say this lightly but jesus christ captain picard can you tone it the fuck down buddy

i came across a gifset today of picard from season 5 (idr the episode) going "starfleet doesn't want officers who blindly follow orders sayign you're just following orders has been used to justify too many tragedies in our history" and then smash cut to this episode where he's like "well i tried but yeah i'm gonna have to move you sowwy :/" like good lord.

anyway it's a bummer these last few eps of tng have been less than great bc ik tng is capable of good episodes and i was hoping this series would go out on a high note. but it's going to end the same way it began with us waiting for something good to happen and throwing popcorn at picard

Mortarion, and how he would work in various ships (chaos edition)

Magnus: Magnus/Morty is the most delicious enemy to lover. There is a thousand possible scenario for those two! Magnus seeking the second most powerful psycher in the family, Mortarion having to deal with witches... There is so much things to write about them! They would balance each other quite nicely too, with Magnus hopeful optimism and Mortarion pragmatism coming up to a more even result. Tho, I think my all time fav scenario, of how they could get together, is this: what if as a child, Mortarion send out a psychic distress signal as he was abused by Necare? And what if that signal was picked up by kid magnus, and a strange, long distance relationship started?

Alpharius Omegon: The hardest one for me to figure out. I can see them being fascinated by how unwillingly Mort is being used by the Imperium, or maybe them being assigned together in the hope their tactic rub off on Mortarion and he get less causality. Sorry, I'm running a bit dry here.

Horus: Horus is, canonically, one of the two primarch Mort has any attachment too. I usually see them as having more of a big bro/lil bro relationship, but it could easily be Mortarion pinning away at him too. Or Horus having that sweet secret romance! You can add some drama to it, and make it so that Mortarion is *Horus* side pieces, and he feel like trash about it. He wants! To be loved!

Angron: Mortarion has the best apothecary, and hate slavery. The Emperor could have given him to Mort in an attempt to help, and I feel like,at the very least, Morty would have been able to find drugs good enough to calm him down a bit, or ease his pain a bit. Angron would have probably seen a friend too in Mortarion, someone that was chained to the Imperium, and who also held no illusion toward their role.

Lorgar: You have unlocked my secret fav crackpair hehe. It's actually, so, so easy to ship them: you make Mort realise that Kor is a piece of shit. Mortarion, with his hatred of abusive dad, would start to do everything to protect Lorgar. And our sweet Urizen would look at him with bug eyes like "is this affection?? I now love you mind, body and soul." They would be a violently intense pairing, that swing between wild fight and incredible tenderness. And if you want to add spice? Lorgar can worship him, as someone choose by nurgle. Nurgle, being a deity of fertility on Colchis, would probably mean sexy time, wich would make their relationship EXTRA messy. All in all, 11/10 one of my fav.

Fulgrim: Fulgrim/Mort is actually really not that far fetch! First of all, they both adore Konrad, so that is a nice starting point. Following that, you basically just need them to sleep together once. Fulgrim, being himself, would make it the most amazing of time, and poor touch starved Morty would be hooked. Completely smitten. Not only that, but while he thing that all the fancy manners of Fulgrim might be for show, he would absolutely respect his working man background and admire his talent at making things. Fulgrim would also adore plumping him up, and pampering this poor, broken soul.

Perturabo: Another one of my guilty pleasure! Take the two big bitter resentful bastard, and see what happen!!! They would annoy the hell out of each others, and yet, they are SO similar. I want Perturabo to talk about birds, while Mortarion show him rare flowers. I want them to be their best and their worst together. The kind that hurt one another, but can't stay away. Toxic in all the right way.

... and Konrad: Listen. LISTEN. If GW is gonna write in the codex that those two are best friends, and then NEVER MAKE THEM INTERACT.... Then it's free real estate, I don't care. They are besty. They know each others secret hobbies. Mortarion enjoy Konrad weird bones craft, and Konrad is touched by the array of carnivorous plants he's gifted with. They cuddles, because no one really get them like each others. They have this tense friendship, like so many queer youngster had. The one were you aren't sure if it's friendship or attraction, were you kind if want to kiss the other, but knowing that it would change everything between you two, you stay put. They see each others at their worst, and only love the other more for it. I adore them. My precious.

Hi Petty! I just started City of Stars today and I have questions. I'm guessing that Krom is a purple boy...well Lilac or lavender but I'm not sure what that means? Also what is Fueang's color? Brown? Gray? Black? Help me out here please?

She noticed there was a lot of "purple (lilac-aubergine hues) and green (mint-jade-olive hues)".

But she thought Fueang was purple.

And Krom was green.

But I thought the boys were a black and white (dark x light) dynamic.

Since I thought the other couple was also a black and white dynamic.

But things took a turn quickly because in the very first episode, the boys wore these striped shirts, which although play into the dark x light dynamic, would mean it was like a color exchange, but that was too soon for such a thing. Then, Daddy hit me with her theory.

But I still thought Kor was a Blue Boy, and I felt even stronger after he ran into his ex in episode four, and she was in blue too since they obviously still loved each other.

Then both messed up that theory when they both wore black in episode seven, and a theory HIT me.

What if Krom and Fueang are aligning their colors?

Krom doesn't get to be himself all the time because of work so normally, he wears black for work or whatever clothes they make him wear, but he had stripes when Krom had stripes on his day off, and he kinda matches Krom when he wears regular clothes.

Like how Fueang has on the red shirt with the white stripe and Krom has on the white sweater with the red shirt underneath.

Or how Fueang has on the black shirt.

And Krom has the orange top over the black shirt.

But even the lighting makes Fueang's shirt seem a bit orange/gold too, no? No. Nevermind. I'll try another example.

This might work.

But only if we noticed the little designs on Fueang's shirt are purple and blue.

But they are definitely wearing different shades of grey here!

And different shades of blue here!

But they spend all of episode four out-of-sync because Krom doesn't think Fueang actually likes him and is just a player. Then, they reset with the black and white dynamic in episode five.

So by the end of that episode, they are in sync again.

And we see it multiple ways in episode six.

So even when they kinda of miss, they still work well together.

And they still balance each other out.

Because they communicate.

Even when it involves singing.

And they match the most after their best communication through body language and actual verbal language.

Even when they had a rough day in episode seven with Fueang's mom, trying to figure out how to navigate the severity of their feelings, and balancing their relationship with Fueang's job, they still had the light and dark dynamic from top to bottom.

And they ended on the same page.

So is my Wild Ass Color Theory something to consider?

I don't know

5/10 -> im sorry but i love zb1 vocals > rap, idt i hate their rap, but the raps parts of the songs that they have doesn’t bring out the best of their abilities. but i really really REALLY LOVE the pre-chorus, this song has my fave pre-chorus (TAERAE DID IT SO WELL) but then the chorus😭😭😭, the whole beat change threw me off.

8/10 -> i have always loved yura yura, can j just say the korean ver sounds more like a highschool love than the japanese ver. the japanese ver. brings out more infatuation but the kor ver brings out more “im going to chase you, no matter what it takes”. but i also have some sort of a bias towards yura yura because i became a zerose during the yura yura era, and this song really has a special connection to me.

also for the Horus Heresy the regular human armies tend to mostly get ignored like the series is 99% space marine Knights get a tiny bit but that's basically it in terms of non-SM i dunno it's like the writers forget regular human are also fighting half the time unless they're on the other side from the viewpoint characters and dropping like flies

i'm trying to adapt my lore to bring my kor boy tanyn to tumblr. i know a lot of new kylo ren and kor lore came out since i made him back in '07. in the rpg i created tanyn in he was the youngest of the students who followed kylo after his fall. the kylo in my og group was 18 when he left the temple. tanyn was barely 14. he was just a boy who really looked up to kylo and idolized him as a big brother / savior. ngl it was kind of a complex. he usually would follow their leader's orders pretty blindly with no questions. spending a part of his childhood training with the kor really meant that tanyn never grew up. he was one of those people who had to grow up fast so he never let go of his childhood. the kor really were his family.

The other day in the Swap discord we were discussing WoLKids and these Hyth x Akira x Emet children hopped into my head and didn't leave for like a week until I actually made little character blurbs for them. To be clear, while I have decided who fathered who biologically for the sake of what they look like, they all three raise them together of course. Kore (pronounced Kor-eh), pictured left, is the oldest of the two, and while she inherited the sparse scales on her ears, the red highlights in her hair, and her stature from her mother, she's otherwise almost the spitting image of her father Hades. More than that, she also inherited a lot of his attitude. She tends to be more of a solitary creature, and struggles to connect with kids her own age. She's very responsible and is quick to tell someone when they're doing something they shouldn't. As she grows, this becomes a pressure she puts on herself to do great things to live up to her parentage. Kore has a quick temper, most especially if someone mistakes her for being the youngest child based on her height compared to her younger brother. Despite said brother annoying her at times, and despite her struggling to show it, she dearly loves her whole family, and woe befall anyone that upsets or threatens any of them.

Kytos (K-eye-tos), pictured right, is the younger of the two, and is a more even split looks-wise between Hythlodaeus and Akira. He has smaller horns and tail than most auri men, and his only scales otherwise frame his face. He has his mother's eyes, and his father's hair and carefree attitude. Kytos is a social butterfly that makes friends easily and also isn't afraid to...bend the rules on occasion for a good cause. He endlessly pesters his sister, but only because he loves her, and does in fact know when to back off and leave her be. Kytos, ever since he was small, has been an absolute mama's boy. That's not to say he doesn't love his fathers and respect them, but he's always reached first for his mother. Despite his large stature, he's a gentle giant and has never shown any proclivity towards more combative pursuits.

So after you two got settled in for the night, you are starting to get hungry, and so the two of y'all order room service and afterward y'all ate. You went to the bathroom, put on your favorite lace lingerie, then came out, and you can tell that Bobby's cheeks are red & hot because he just can't believe that he has a beautiful wife looking good like that after giving birth of two of your children. But however he was so lucky that he have you as a wife and a mother to your two beautiful children.

"Oh my goodness, Koko, you are so beautiful." He said to you while he was blushing.

Since from what I remember from "The first heretic" (which isn't much), the World Bearers primarch was only contacting Kor and Erebus. And we all know what would happen later on. Sure, there was Cyrene, but I sincerly doubt that he confessed to her anything beyond that talk. Maybe see her as living ghost from her past, casually going and looking, but never got close with her. Or to be that full of the confesser. Though withing those burned documents could be everything and reader shall never know, only speculate if there was more beyond him deciving out of good heart that she'll regain vision. And that's all that I can reach within my mind considering the book.

But returning to the scenario/possibilty that brewed inside my head. Either platonic or romantic, sexual or not. Doesn't really matter here.

What would happen If Lorgar with all Monarchia business all over again and with those five custodaes on his side, there's no fucking way that the banana ruler sended in the meanwhile other people to inflitrate Colgrisian court (not all at once of course, maybe he had convinced some native to spread the other word, since I doubt in this time he'd trust the foreign due to custodaes, could he also bribed someone already in the area) , maybe even...get closer to Lorgar, trying to slowly groom him away from worshiping the Emperor. Of course, to make the drama happen it has to be unsuccesful or partialy succesful with him...beginig to fall off, only to realize that your friend that seemed to be more appreciative of your work, giving some constrictive critique, telling how he's really missunderstood and in the right, sort of, but there are more thesis made - to all to be just a facade to fall. What then? To kill them? They certaintly say that, if they did not got onto it themselfs by ordering someone to kill such person. Would that cause him to get along with chaos even quicker than with just them after the realization.Maybe it would get longer, getting even burning hatred for his fatherWould he just kill the person, try to "convert" them under the force or what? Forcing them to daemonhood out of "concern" and partially caring about them, even if worldview shattered? I mean he did not exactly resigned about the godhood of his father, but the perspective changed severly. I was always an atheist and sceptic don't know the psychology of the choir boy lol.

The biggest thing with Lorgar no longer worshipping the Emperor, is he has to replace that void with something. He can't just walk around not having a higher power to act in subservience to, or to worship, it's just the way he is/was groomed.

In canon he replaces emps with the chaos gods, but in fanon you can do whatever you want ;3 And I think he would force them into daemonhood, if it reached that point.
