Just a little something about 15th, 14th and healing.

There was this one thing that has been living rent free in my head since I watched The Giggle on Saturday. Well, a lot of things, really, but...

When 15th hugged 14th for the first time... It hit an emotional chord really hard.

This made me think of all the times that my therapist insisted on me loving and understanding my past self (and how good it finally felt when I was able to accept that chubby, weird, obsessive, anxious little person I was as a child and a teenager... And I accepted all the anger and fear and hurt they had inside, and how much it still drove my adult self).

Also reminded me of a common theme on conversations, about how younger generations are doing the "emotional healing" for all the generational trauma that previous generations never knew how to process. How younger generations are addressing and working on what older siblings, parents and grandparents tried so hard not to see, but that were marking the life of every generation.

And... the main idea it left stuck in my emotional fridge was "make sure to be the adult you needed when you were younger". That's a truism I'm pretty sure I found here a long time ago, or on an IG post, one of those things that sound so "self help" that it is almost embarrassing to admit how helpful you find them when they actually come true (happened to me).

That hug is all of these things, on a Timelord scale.

Ncuti is so perfect to be the Doctor Who who finally addressed the trauma, was ready to be present for all his past selves (not only in the heroic way, as was in the 50th Anniversary Special, but emotionally too), accepts all of the past... And lets it heal.

15th will be so fresh and ready to run new adventures. This hug was the most stellar presentation he could have received... And I'm so ready to see him run, have fun, be cheeky and smart and compassionate and THE MOST STYLISH EVER.

Go on, Doctor. Heal and be happy. We all deserve it, and you've reminded us all about it.

You know I will say, that if they aren't together or are bffs with no boundaries, they still have a more beautiful love than anyone I have ever seen. The respect they show each other, the care, attention and devotion is truly remarkable for such young men. I think that is why I am so drawn to them, because I have never seen anything like it. And it isn't forced either, for example when JM asks JK if he is happy in Jeju, and when JK says yes, and JM says that is all that matters, he means it. I truly think it makes him happy to see JK happy, but that is not a one-way street - JK loves to make JM smile, and laugh, to ensure he is safe, he cares about him, does things for him like picking up his shoes, carrying his bags and cooking for him. It is so balanced and so natural to them. It’s stunning to see it for such a long period of time in the show, and the consistency of it over three 'seasons', and three places. I know we have seen their bond before over years, it is why most of us are here, because we see something in it, but seeing it for a prolonged period has been even more eye opening to me, it really is on display. It is absolutely the main character of the show. Its both the big and small things - like JK cooking in ep5 and JM staying around him in the kitchen, even napping and JK leaning over the counter to check on him. It is JK giving JM the medicine in the cabin, building the stone tower and praying over it for good health. It is JK driving in Japan because JM is hesitant. It is JM looking so fondly at JK when he is doing his bottle tricks. JK ordering for them in the USA. Both choosing activities, restaurants and snacks they know the other would like. It is JM setting up their snacks after showering in ep6. JM setting the temp in the bedroom in ep7 and instead of changing it, JK goes out to the living area as not to disturb JM. It is JK falling when he was doing well snowboarding, so he didn't crash into JM, JM seeing that he fell and stopping himself. It is with absolutely no hesitation how they both said they were not worried about enlisting together, and that they were so sure that they would not fight, I don’t know many friends who would be sure of this. I am honestly in awe of them, and the balance they have between the fun and the serious, the nurture they give to their relationship, and the care and love they show each other. Long may it last, because finding someone like that, your person, is absolutely worth fighting for.

Alright, but don’t say Fang doesn’t do stuff to take care of Tan.

We already know Tan can cook well enough to impress his friends. He lets Fang continue to make him spaghetti any chance he gets so that Fang is taking care of him right back. Tan could very easily be the only one giving in this relationship, making sure that Fang eats and that they have more than spaghetti.

But Fang wants to reciprocate that care and all my man has is a spaghetti recipe and he beams every time Tan enjoys his cooking. Because he made Tan happy.

Mostly fluffy, lovely Lusan, they just enjoying each other presence (even if Luffy CAN'T stay still for more than one minute) and the feeling of love they share.

Sanji with her hair without a ponytail and Luffy amused about how her hair is good to play and beautiful. And she let's him touch, even if he will make a mess in her hair.

Luffy, who always when the ship stop in a new island, let his girlfriend use his hat if the sun is too hot. And saying the truth? Sanji loves using the straw hat.

They being silly, Sanji screaming at him for stealing the food again, and yet, everyone of the crew look at them and think 'yes, they're absolutely in love'

Sanji thinking so low about herself, that she is unworth of all the love Luffy gives to her, but he still praise her in a oh so genuine way that her heart is warm

Luffy being enchanted be everything his amazing girlfriend do, even more if this is something Sanji loves, like cooking and protect her loved ones.

They making clear that they love each other with all their soul, even if they don't always say this openly. Because there's no need to, they know how much their love each other.

Without the need of kisses, hugs, and being cling all the time, but still they do it. Because they like feeling each other skins and lips.

They just being... so much in love in the more beautiful way.

This was hands down my favourite moment. The way Prapai held Sky and calmed him down. He has already realised that something is wrong with Sky. He knows the fever isn't the problem. He actively asked: "How can I help you?" I never expected this but this is exactly how to deal with a person suffering from mental illness or trauma. Instead of pushing your own image of what will definitely help aka I know it better than you without having experienced it - he asks Sky. He wants to help and acknowledges that he doesn't know how to. He wants Sky to voice what he needs and is ready to give him that. The one moment where he wants to push his own ideas e.g. giving Sky a kiss, he stops himself and reminds himself that he cannot do that.
