one way to tell the difference between black metal and death metal is that death metal is less occult-themed and more just like burly toughguys lol. on average anyway, of course there are exceptions and crossovers between the two.
but in general, black metal is like a shrill wintery spiteful goblin spurning the world, death metal is more like a big orc bludgeoning people with a big club. black metal is mysticism and curses and depression, death metal is violence and catharsis and anger. black metal is like a solitary gremlin holed up in a cave, alone, scorning all outsiders, whereas death metal is like a gore-filled slasher movie lol. i mean there are also the death metal people who are like dnd nerds, or people who just like the musicianship, or whatever else, but generally speaking these are the sorts of archetypes imo.

theres like, two levels of “playersexual”.
the first is the authors making all the romance options bi, which. like technically it can often stem from the same mechanical reasoning as “true” playersexuality (omfg im gatekeeping?????), that its easier, more efficient, or more equitable to just have all the options available to any character setup. in that sense theyre absolutely taxonomically related, but from a semantic and ethical point of view it seems kinda dogshit to reduce textually bi (one way or another, theres a lotta ways to do that) people to a mere practical development choice? like dude i think that characters just bisexual its kinda fucking wierd to frame his ability to be attracted to [character in context thats not the pc’s gender] and also romance the player character as some sort of “lazy writing shortcut”.
the second is far more nebulous as it exists more in what is LACKING than what is there. the anomalous ‘real’ “oh actually this was just a studio being either programming/writing lazy or like. genuinely just bizzare on a spiritual level”. skyrim romance is roughly egalitarian in implementation but there is effectively 0 external queers aside from two dead guys on an island and Possibly this one vampire from the morthal quest who seems like shes grooming a child? its a world absent of same-gender relationships but incapable of recognizing the player as anything extraordinary in that respect. romanceable npcs showing attraction to other npcs is rare in general, even, though going back over it in my head my initial presumption of it being completely absent is verifiably false. i think. ANYWAYS this theoretically would also include characters whose textual sexuality CHANGES to match the player character, which -discounting allowances for potential watsonian mischaracterization (i.e. a character being labeled gay by an unreliable commentator in a save in which they end up in a same-gender relationship, and other such things) can show up in really weird ways like ok in stardew valley i’m not actually saying Leah’s ORIENTATION necessarily changes but her ex’s gender specifically changing to match the player is SO FUCKING WIERD WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. LIKE WHAT IS THAT EVEN IMPLYING?! WHUH?!!?
#ITD MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE IF THAT PRICK WAS ALWAYS A MAN#LIKE EVEN ASIDE FROM THE ‘BEING A CONSERVATIV-Y BASTARD’ LOOKING FUCKING *ODD* ON THIS SAPPHIC LADY#WHO’D. NOTICE.#IT TAKES ACTIVELY LESS EFFORT#INSTEAD LEAH USED TO DATE LESBIAN BEN SHAPIRO ITS. SO JARRING ITS OK FOR HER PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIP TO BE WITH A DUDE THATS FINE#oh also theres monika. shes the third type i guess. shes just completely literal about it#<- i actually don’t agree with that tbh i think framing her love for the player as wholly in-line with any practical means of attraction#defeats some of the point of the story. the affection is parasocial to a saddening extent#unable to see into ‘true’ reality shes instead left trying to chase the shadow of ‘the player’ on the wall of the cave#aware of its falsehood but unable to reach any farther past that fourth wall#in the wake of her realization she’s bound to concede any ‘fictional’ preconceptions of attraction just as she abandoned her preconceptions#of her friends. as people. its all just fluff. set dressing. in the way of her TRUE love. her REAL love.#an ultimate reality that supercedes any mere program or line of text that isn’t aware of it#all this despite her actual -both fictional and practical- inability to REALLY interact with reality on reality’s terms#alienated from her own fictitious existence to the point of manipulating it and abusing it in the style of a ‘real’ author#but still left incapable of actually accessing the agency freedom senses indignities and mortality of REALITY#….. SORRY IM A BIT FUCKED UP OVER DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB STILL I UH. HAVE SOME FEELINGS. THERE.

Seriously though the scene where Binghe supposedly makes an attempt to assault Shen Qingqiu says so much about both of them
Because for possibly weeks Shen Qingqiu has been alone and unarmed in Binghe's palace in a room where only he is allowed to enter most of the time
For days or weeks Shen Qingqiu was completely at Luo Binghe's mercy
And yet he doesn't actually appear to Shen Qingqiu and try anything at all until after he had Shang Qinghua deliver Shen Qingqiu's sword
He armed Shen Qingqiu first
And even then, even without the blood mites, he could have easily over powered Shen Qingqiu at anytime
He chose not to
He kept it to wrestling about even when Shen Qingqiu used spiritual energy on him. He was letting Shen Qingqiu have the power in that situation
And I would argue that includes his behaviour
He is trying to scare Shen Qingqiu (he even admits that when he apologises when he's scared when Tianlang-Jun starts summoning him from his plant body) but I don't think he came in really wanting to assault Shen Qingqiu
I think this is him once again trying to live up to Shen Qingqiu's expectations of him
Because really thats really all Luo Binghe is doing at all points
He is constantly putting on different acts to try to be what Shen Qingqiu expects him to be
Shen Qingqiu pats his head and tells him he's a good boy so he's a good boy
Shen Qingqiu acts scared of him so he's scary
Shen Qingqiu is worried for him so he's pitiful
Shen Qingqiu expects him to try to assault him so he'll play at that role
Binghe is very good and reading what Shen Qingqiu expects of him and he's so desperate to meet those expectations.
It's not even about praise anymore
It was when he was a teenager but since the abyss he still has that need to please but its twisted up with the anger and resentment that is: "you say I'm a monster so I'll show you a monster"
Bingge never received the praise that he was looking for from his Shen Qingqiu so he became exactly the type of monster his Shen Qingqiu wanted him to be
But our Binghe is trying to play whatever part that he thinks Shen Qingqiu expects and to an extent wants him to be
We don't see the True Binghe until the end ridge. Where he will let Shen Qingqiu do anything to him as long as he stays
That's all he wants and he would let Shen Qingqiu break him over and over for eternity for the promise of him staying
This scene is just so much
It's also telling that Shen Qingqiu is fighting but never fully draws his sword or goes for the door
Shen Qingqiu isn't fighting to escape. He's fighting because he's mad at Binghe for telling him the dream where he decided to accept Binghe's feelings was faked. That Binghe didn't mean everything he said and did
But he's still accepted the feelings and he's freaked out about being touched intimately at all but he's not panicked or feels sick or disgusted. His anger and unhappiness is all still about Binghe manipulating his emotions
He's mad Binghe made him love him by acting. He's mad it worked and he's mad it's still working
God! This first chapter is so interesting!

"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me", "Once its happenstance, twice its a coincidence, thrice is deliberate", " The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. "
Many quotes/sayings exist in many different languages and many different cultures, all carrying the same meaning. The meaning that while mistakes can and WILL happen, a person should learn from those mistakes to not repeat them. Making mistakes is natural, understandable. Repeating those same mistakes over and over however, indicates a problem, a problem that rarely has an excuse.
RT is no different in this regard. As always, we are at the point where the crew commentary is released, that part of the year when many a critic and fan can read the thought of the crew producing RWBY, and despair at what they see.
It was revealed and i think known a bit before the recent days that RWBY Volume 9 had an entire episode cut, in the second part of the show. It was "unforseen" complications that lead the crew needing to cut a lot of stuff and keep the "most important" parts of the episodes, thats why after Ruby suicide the cut-away seemed so strange.
While i did not see CRWBY make any excuses (yet) about this besides saying that it happened, many fans are already doing it for them, simply saying that these are just "expected" things in production, that CRWBY are not to blame, and yet, they are.
Priorities
First of all, CRWBY are the ones who decide on what parts of the show to prioritize in production. On Twitter Eddy Rivas confirmed that episodes 1-7 were fully produced before episodes 8+ were. The argument presented there is that the solution of "Cutting things from 1-7 and add more to 8+" doesnt work because they were both done at different times of production.
While that is true it does pose a question on why exactly does CRWBY keep doing this then? This problem is not new, the fact that many of RWBY volumes are very back-ended and it causes problems is not new and has been known for a long time now. This is the reason why in most of the Volumes, critics usually focus on things that happen at the end of the Volume, because that is when most of the problems with things like writing occur.
So why continue doing this? So many of RWBY plotlines can be better distributed alongside the entire Volume instead of trying to cram it in at the last second. Lets take for example a character like Oscar. Volume 7 proved that Oscar and his relationship/changes due to Ozpin can be very well done if its all distributed properly in the Volume. Compare this to V6 where it all has to happen offscreen just because "There is no time" to explore Oscar.
Why is then so much of V9 so back-ended? Apparently there was going to be an explanation there that Neo gained her new powers because she landed in the God of Darkness acre. The Ascencion phenomena was going to be expanded upon. We have Ruby and her suicide. We have Jaunes break-down. We have Rubys break-down and i could go on.... and on.... There is just SO MUCH there, why?
The explanations of Neos powers could have been done earlier in the Volume. Ascencion could have been distributed during the entire V9 etc.
Instead we have parts of an episode focused on a talking trash panda that ends up not mattering as an example?
It just feels like the wrong things are prioritized in the show and most of them are back-loaded to such an extent that its INEVITABLE that it will cause a point of failure. Just like it did the REST of the times with the preceding Volumes. Why has that lesson not been learned yet?
When one builds something, the most important first parts are a skeleton. You can do the rest later, but you should have the MAIN feature of your product finished first, everything else is extra. And yet it seems that RWBY constantly tries to do everything at once and then when they inevitably fail to actually finish it all, they start cutting important stuff.
Ambition
The other problem is that there is just SO MUCH SHIT that they want to do. They want to use the Ever After to confirm BB and to further give their relationship time. They want to focus on Neo, her new powers (Now related to the God of Darkness). They want the Ever-After to explore Ruby and Jaune and their developments after V8. They want to explore the concepts of acceptance and reincarnation. They want to develop a new character, Little. They want to connect the Ever-After with the gods of RWBY. Thats just SOME of what they tried to focus on, and at the end of the day, isnt it a bit much?
This always happens with RWBY, the show writers dont seem to understand their limitations and they try to cram as MANY ideas as they can into a Volume, when that Volume wont be able to properly develop those ideas in the first place. This is why a lot of RWBY kingdom arcs feel like they miss an entire extra Volume, be it Mistral or Atlas. They simply have no time to develop the concepts they want.
But instead of cutting down on them and focusing on whats most important, they keep stuffing more and more things into the show. And then decide "Well, people will understand/guess what we kept offscreen".
Did you know that Neo got her new powers with Jabberwocker (Basically, literal fucking death?) because she landed in an Acre that belonged to the gods of RWBY? Well, we were supposed to "Guess" or "Understand" that according to the writers. HOW? I have no idea. But we were "Supposed to".
This is the kind of thing, this bloat that plagues many an indie development. Where the developers/makers just add more and more features that pop into their heads, instead of focusing on what they already have and is important.
Understandable in V1-V3. But holy hell RT is a full on corporation right now, so now its no longer understandable.
End Word
Anyways, apologies for being missing in a large capacity for this, entire month i think? Way too much stuff to do, also got involved with wiki editing, which takes a lot of time. Next thread will be next week and i will focus on the suicide/reincarnation/acceptance message that the Volume tried to portray, because the crew commentary has given me more info to talk about.
"Budget" and "Cuts" stop being excuses for the shows writing when its a regular occurrence.

Hi! Rainy here on her soapbox again!! Heres some things I've seen said about Eloise today
"Eloise be staying a terrible friend"
"Shes finally showng her true colors"
"This is the ultimate betrayal I don't care how mad she is I can't believe she'd do this to Penelope."
"Eloise was always a brat/bitch she deserves whatever happens to her for being friends with Cressida."
"If she was a true friend she wouldn't do this."
And lots more!
My thoughts on this? You all need to calm the fuck down oh my god.
Listen, I love Penelope, and I'm not exactly thrilled to see Eloise attaching herself to Cressida, but also you have to imagine being in her shoes.
You're 19 forced into a world and position you don't like, your reputation has been dragged through the mud, most of your acquaintances are no longer spaking to you, the first person you've had a crush on has basically said to never come around again, and you found out your best friend has been lying to you for years and using her anonymity to mock your family.
She gets to be hurt and upset. Penelope did betray her, and she may have been trying to do it to save her, but that doesn’t change that she did an it certainly doesn't change how she reacted when Eloise found her out.
We know from the live Cressida is the only person who was nice to her. Was it likely for a self serving reason? Does it likely have more to do with Eloises name than who she is as a person?
Maybe, but also, we really don't know Cressida beyond a surface level. I don’t know how to tell you his but characters can have more depth to them.
And even if she is, Eloise could also be in this friendship for self serving reasons as well.
Violet says it in Queen Charlotte, Eloise is lonely, and angry, and likely looking for a way to hurt Pen like shes been hurt. Cressida is excellent at helping her be less lonely and to also get back at someone who hurt her. In Eloises mind Cressida may be bad, but at least shes not pretending she isn't.
These girls are not done cooking, their brains are not fully developed, they are going to make impulsive, mean spirited decisions.
They shouldn't be crucified for them.
Marina lashes out at Pen for meddling, it's taken as evidence that shes actually this evil bitch. Eloise lashes out and makes friends with "the enemy?" She was never a true friend, and never actually cared about Penelope.
I love Penelope, I find her to be an interesting character with a lot of facets that can be played with, yet some how how this fandom keeps deciding she needs to always be in the victim role. Something she wouldn't agree with, seeing as sh seemingly hold some guilt about Marina, and immediately tried to run after Eloise. The things she does aren't full altruistic, to an extent they usually play in her favor. She knows shes in the wrong, why can't we as the audience accept that?
When Pen and El reunite, it shouldn't involve some huge redemption arc from Eloise for daring to befriend someone Penelope hates.
It should be genuine apologies, on both sides, because they've both said and done things to hurt each other.
Their friendship isn't going to be the same and I think thats okay honestly. They've both been self-centered in their friendship, niether really listened to each other, theres been secrets and fights that do change alter relationship. They have to rebuild, reassess and go from there.

Request for Reneé Rapp,
So I know S3 hasn’t been filmed yet, but say R has been brought onto the show either as like a new roomate for Leighton and Kimberley or academic rival in one of her math classes or something. R was only supposed to be on for one or two episodes but because she had instant chemistry with Reneé she was rewrote into the rest of the season. Alyah being the great best friend she is hypes Reneé up to ask R out bc it is painfully obvious to everyone but them that they’ve been crushing on each other all season long. Then R who has been in love with Reneé since Mean Girls and streams all her music had to keep her fangirling down to a minimum when she met her is absolutely shocked when she asks her out. Because she’s RENEÉ RAPP, but once she realizes that she is not in fact dreaming gives her an enthusiastic yes

---
When your manager called you about an audition to play a part in the third season of the TV show ‘The Sex Lives of College Girls’, you immediately jumped at the chance. You were a huge fan of the show already, so being able to try out for it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. You read for the part of a character named Parker, who was going to be an academic rival of Leighton’s. The producers loved your performance and soon after your audition, you got a call saying that you had gotten the part.
The day that you were supposed to start filming came even faster than you could have imagined. You looked around the set in awe, accidentally bumping into someone behind you. You turn around to apologize, but when you see who you bumped into you freeze. Standing there, profusely apologizing, is frickling Reneè Rapp.
You stare at her blankly until she waves a hand in front of her face and seemingly repeats her question. “Are you okay?” You nod dumbly and she accepts your answer. She then sticks her hand out for a handshake, which you quickly reciprocate. “I’m Reneè. I don’t want to be rude, but who are you?” You shake yourself out of your stupor, finally getting your wits back. “I’m Y/N. I’m going to be playing Parker, Your character's rival, for like, two episodes.”
A look of understanding dawns on Reneè’s face. You suddenly realize that you’re still holding onto her hand, so you quickly pull back, your face turning red. Looking at the ground, you don’t notice that Reneè’s face has turned pink as well. She mumbles something about getting back to work, and you nod before heading towards the director’s office. The both of you glance back over your shoulder at each other, catching the other person staring which makes both of your heads whip back around in embarrassment.
Reneè walks towards Alyah’s trailer, throwing the door open. Alyah flinches in surprise, not expecting the loud bang. When she finally gets over her shock, she takes notice of her best friend standing in the doorway, panting hard. “Are you okay, Nè?”
Reneè shakes her head, quickly closing the door behind her and making her way over towards where Alyah is sitting. “Okay so you know how I’m going to have, like, a mathematical rival for a couple episodes? I just met the actress who is going to play her, and she is so fucking hot, and like so nice.” Alyah lets out a laugh, hitting Reneè’s shoulder.
“Damn girl, do you seriously already have a crush on her?” Reneè shakes her head insistently to the negative. “No, no. It’s just an observation. I can objectively say that she’s hot. Because it’s true. Just wait till you see her for yourself.” Alyah shrugs, knowing that she was right, and also now looking forward to meeting you.
---
A couple hours later, you amble onto the set, now in costume. You were wearing a red flannel shirt and a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt that you honestly wished you could keep. Your hands were adorned with rings that you were asked to bring from home, and the final touch was a backwards baseball cap sitting just right on your head.
Across the set, you don’t notice that two of the actors have been watching you since you entered. “God damn, you weren’t wrong. She is fucking hot.” Reneè makes a noncommittal noise, which makes Alyah glance over at her. She has her mouth slightly open, and she is clearly checking you out as you look around. Alyah laughs before getting an idea. “Now let's see if you were right about her being nice.”
She begins to wave her hand, trying to call you over, and you oblige. Reneè tries to stop her but immediately covers when you get to them. Almost immediately, you make eye contact with her, before looking away awkwardly. Alyah notices the tension but decides not to say anything just yet. Instead, she sticks her hand out and enthusiastically introduces herself. “Hi! I’m Alyah. You must be Y/N. I for one am so happy to have you with us, even if it’s just for a short while. I know for a fact that Reneé here agrees with me.”
You laugh and shake her hand in return. Reneé quickly nods her head in agreement with Alyah’s statement, making you smile warmly at the both of them. “I’m just happy to be here. Huge fan of the show, so this is kind of surreal. Also, very happy about the costumes. I mean, I already own half of this stuff, and I want the other half.” Alyah laughs, agreeing with you. You continue to make small talk with the two of them, it being mostly dominated by Alyah.
Soon, the director calls for places, and you move to be opposite of Reneé. As soon as he calls action, it’s like she turns into a whole new person. In a way, she actually does. She instantly develops a confident aura to her, and she struts into the mock classroom. You slouch down in your chair as instructed, and she glances over at you before faking a double take.
“Okay, who are you and what are you doing in this class? You do know Metal 101 ended a while ago, right? Like, in the 90s?” You laugh sarcastically, leaning forward towards the blonde. “This is where advanced mathematics is, right? Not Prissy Rich Bitch level 10?” Reneé morphs her face into a look of shock. “You’re in this class? No, no way.” You stick your hand out, but she looks at it in mild disgust. You shrug and retract it. “The name’s Parker. And, yes I’m in this class. An IQ of 155 will do that for you. Also, you shouldn’t judge my fashion sense. This is very attractive to women, which is what I’m going for. So get your attitude in check, please. I’m trying to learn.”
Reneé looks you over carefully before rolling her eyes and sitting down. You pretend to be doing the ‘math work’ that is given to you, and Reneé pretends to glance over at you before looking away, embarrassed. Her part of the scene is honestly not that hard for her to fake, as she can’t help but be attracted to you, especially when you look like that. So concentrated on what your doing, biting your lip in thought. She can almost vividly imagine you biting her like tha-
“AND CUT! That was great, girls! I could really feel the tension. Keep that up, and maybe we can see what the fans would think of a season long romance between Leighton and Parker. I can almost see it now. Enemies to lovers.” You smile, happy for the praise and at the thought of sticking around AND playing your celebrity crushes romantic interest. You glance over at Reneé, who has a seriously nervous look on her face. She smiles wryly at the director before turning on her heel and walking quickly off set. You become slightly confused, but you assure yourself that it probably has nothing to do with you.
---
The day after the first episode was released was a wild time for you. You had gained an insane amount of instagram followers, including multiple of the stars from the show. The one follow that you were the most excited about was definitely Reneé’s.
Not even an hour after the episode’s release, various social media platforms were flooded with approval and requests for a more thorough relationship between Leighton and Parker. You were delighted, and so was everyone else it seemed. Everyone except for Reneé. As soon as you got the news from the director that they would be promoting your character to recurring for the rest of season 3, the first person you thought to tell was Reneé. When she heard the news, she didn’t have the reaction you expected.
Instead of being excited, she gave you a tight-lipped smile and simply said, “Congratulations.” You honestly had no idea what you had done wrong, so you went to the one other person who might know. Your blonde crush’s best friend. As you approach Alyah, she gives you the reaction that you had subconsciously expected from Reneé.
She pulls you into a hug and enthusiastically tells you how excited she is to have you around for the rest of the season. You smile at her, but she can see that something is off. “Hey, what’s up? I know we haven’t known each other very long, but you can still talk to me about anything.” You nod and take a deep breath. “Does Reneé not like me? She doesn’t seem to ever want to be around me, and I don’t know what I did. Has she said anything to you?”
Alyah shakes her head, seemingly just as in the dark as you are. You nod, not really expecting anything to come from asking. You wander off dejectedly, leaving Alyah with a whole lot of questions for her best friend. She quickly makes her way towards Reneé’s trailer, and bursts inside. Reneé almost drops her phone in surprise, and she begins to snap at her friend before noticing the murderous look on her face.
“What the hell are you doing?! Y/N thinks you hate her! You have gotta just ask her out, dude. You both clearly like each other. We’ve filmed at least four episodes together, and at some point the two of your characters are going to kiss or some shit. Wouldn’t you rather have your first kiss with her on your own terms rather than scripted with a whole bunch of people watching?” Reneé cowers away slightly, thinking over Alyah’s words. She finally nods, realizing that the brunette in front of her was right.
Alyah nods in acceptance before pulling Reneé to her feet and shoving her out the door. “Go get your girl! Don’t sleep together on the first date! Or do, I don’t care. Just go get her!” Reneé rolls her eyes, laughing and jogging off to go find you. She first checks in your trailer, but you aren’t there. She then looks all around the set, asking any crew member she sees if they knew where you were. When all she gets are nos, she wonders if she will ever find you today.
Suddenly, she spots you walking towards the parking lot with your head down. She runs up to you, panting heavily, which makes you stare at her confused. When she finally catches her breath, she glances up at you shyly. “I’m sorry I’ve been weird. I’m really bad around people that I like. And I really, really like you. I was wondering if you would maybe want to grab a coffee or something?” You smile at her softly before truly processing what she had just said.
“Wait, you like me? Reneé Rapp, the incredible singer and actress, likes me?” Reneé laughs slightly, nodding. “Yes I like you, dumbass. Also, don’t say ‘me’ like that. You’re funny, and kind, and so hot. So would you want to grab a drink?” You nod before lifting Reneé up by pulling her into a hug. She squeals in surprise before hugging you back enthusiastically. She then whispers in your ear, “I’m so happy your sticking around for the rest of the season.”
She feels you smile into her neck before you quietly say, “I’ll stick around as long as you want me to.”

We were looking at r/fakedisordercringe and r/systemscringe (bad idea) and we found a lot of misinformation. We're going to correct the myths in this post, and this will be a team effort by a few other sysmates. They will be credited at the end of the post.
Trigger warnings for abuse, RAMCOA and denial apply.
Tumblr media
This person is trying to invalidate RAMCOA. And they're using an inaccurate study to prove it.
We have, in fact, read this study. It seems largely stereotype driven instead of a true unbiased study because people with other, often traumagenic mental disorders (like cluster b personality disorders) often are open about the trauma they truly experienced if these disorders affect them to have attention seeking behavior. And this study failed to mention that. For the "having told persons other than close confidants" part, its often unsafe for people with DID, much less people who developed it from RAMCOA to be open about it in person to people they know. They feel safer venting or sharing their experience online because theres the optional anonymity you can choose and you're safe from anyone who abused you. Its not attention seeking- its seeking support.
I do agree with the telling of alleged abuse without accompanying shame, guilt or suffering" part to an extent. If you're talking about trauma you claim you remember and have no distress, that's a sign you're either faking or really detached from your memories. But most of the "alleged" abuse these people are talking about they don't remember because thats how childhood trauma and DID work. Many singlets with childhood trauma don't remember majority or any of it because the brain "forgets" different aspects of trauma. And DID is a posttraumatic dissociative disorder entirely based on amnesia of trauma to survive. So if the person is being open about abuse with no distress, it could also be because they don't remember it but know it happened because of clues. Can't feel distress of remembering something you don't remember.
While RAMCOA has strayed away from its original meaning, that's because of misuse (and we blame both the ISSTD and misinformed mental health "professionals" for that along with media presentations.) RAMCOA stands for ritual abuse, mind control and organized abuse. The hyped satanic panic and gory sacrifices are only a small part of the acronym. Mind control doesn't have to be done by a cult. Ever been brainwashed by anyone? Thats a form of mind control. Organized abuse is more common than the satanic, stereotyped ritual abuse. OEA is a simple and inclusive term, and can encompass all forms of RAMCOA but also isn't widely recognized or used yet. And as far as the "HC-DID" term, DID is already highly complex even in people who aren't OEA survivors- DID and OSDD-1 are considered complex dissociative disorders. The term is basically just a fancy way of saying "hey I'm polyfrag because of RAMCOA!" All you need to say is that you're polyfrag because of RAMCOA, you don't need a fancy label for everything.
And yes, introjects are common in neurodivergent systems. Lets go ahead and do autism as an example: being autistic causes distress from hypersensitivity, its a common and documented autistic trait to hyperfixate, people with autism deal with rejection and social anxiety because of how autism works, and people with autism are more likely to be abused. Being autistic is traumatizing itself and this is why neurodivergent systems have plenty of introjects. Especially fictives; people with autism often seek comfort in fiction. And if alters in DID only develop during or after trauma, then this whole theory is solid.
Tumblr media
This person is truly uneducated in how abuse survivors brains work especially RAMCOA. These survivors don't label the organization, cult or not, out of fear; when they were programmed, the idea anyone they told - especially if they shared the organizations name- would be in danger or die, or the survivors themselves would be in danger or die was programmed in them. If they're talking about it for awareness, just sharing their lived experiences is all that's needed. Sharing the name of the organization paints a target on the backs of the survivors and their close family and friends. And not every cult is going to present itself in an obvious way especially if they involve RAMCOA. They're going to make it seem like some new religious or pagan movement instead of a traumatizing cult. And yes, they do remain hidden.

This is ableist. If this person is referring to DID/OSDD, that's permanent and even if all alters fuse the ability to split them off again is still there. DID/OSDD are not disorders that can be fixed. Its a permanent rewiring of the brain due to frequent and overwhelming trauma. This involves a missed neurodevelopmental stage (the ego states fusing into one cohesive sense of self before the age of 6-10) and a posttraumatic survival response. Basically, DID/OSDD can't be "fixed" because our brains missed that developmental stage and this is how our brains are permanently. The "you get therapy to fix what went wrong so you can be one whole person as you were meant to be" is ableist and outdated. Its based on the old view of DID/OSDD treatment back when it was called multiple personality disorder: work on the trauma then force the system to fuse into one identity against their will so they'll be "cured."
Don't believe anything you see on r/fakedisordercringe or r/systemscringe. These are the most ableist, hateful subreddits on there and these subreddits set our recovery back when we were in the vulnerable, most important stage of treatment- the diagnostic process and trauma processing. We wouldn't have near the denial or alters that developed from the distress of the host thinking they're faking and much more.

dutch van der linde thoughts and feelings and the human condition,,,
like. i think that dutch being a good guy who is capable of compassion and kindness can like. coexist with his skewed view of the world and his place in it. hes just as capable of saving and cradling those less fortunate than him as much as he is at using them for his own gain.
and like. the facade to me. is more in his psyche than anything else
its a mask of strength and intelligence for his own sake
and his relationship with molly is meant to show you how negligent and mean he can get. it also shows you that hes insecure and lashes out whenever somebody tries to help him
he doesnt like being wrong or being ridiculed in any sense because it reflects back on what i think he feels he is at his core. a nobody. a two bit outlaw. and when thats pointed out he gets defensive
i want to be able to explain that yes. he wants to help people and he wants a better world but that wanting has become twisted over the years and now that hes backed into a corner that thought becomes second place (and micah encourages this) and hes willing to throw people under the bus
he thinks everyones out to get him and that he can only trust himself
i also think that stems from the fact that hes so scared of everyone leaving him or everything going wrong that hes come to the conclusion that nobodies really sticking around for him
and i think this can also exist at the same time as his moment of narcissim cus. thats how mood swings and especially bpd (whether or not he has it) is like. part of him being all over the place is because of this
he can be a kind man while also being a hypocrite of all sorts. the human condition allows this
his words and his actions do not always match up for good and for bad
and i think thats like. the core of it all is that hes meant to show a part of the human condition which allows for so many possibilities and shows how these choices can go beyond what you think or what you feel. dutch was going to get backed into a corner no matter what happened. but he jumped the gun and assumed (in actions rather than words) that he was already doomed and acted accordingly. throwing people under th bus and assuming that he had been duped
he was so caught up in looking for the problem he couldnt see it righth in front of him
because by his perception why would someone manipulating him be kind to him?? why would they encourage him and soothe his fears and inflate his ego?
also him and molyy are such like. a good relationship. writing wise. obviously in game they are terrible for one another but
molly and dutch are similiar to me. in a psychological way. they are easily consumed by the idea of love and being wanted but. molly isnt a conman or a killer like dutch is. and i feel like molly doesnt hide behind the mask as much as dutch does. i think its still there for her. but to a lesser extent. mollys kind and caring nature always struck me as being given much more freely than dutch's. and in such a way it feels more genuine. whereas dutch has the intention but must make it flowery and grand even though hes capable of the smaller goods
ansd the tragedy of the both of them is that all molly wanted to do was help him
she loved him. i dont think dutch loved her the same. dutchs love was quick and dependent completely on how he felt at the moment. dutchs mode was survival and her comfort or him caring for her wasnt top of his priority. i dont think he loved her in the way molly loved him
molly thought she had found true love in him. dutch wanted someone to woo. someone to care about him for the brief amount of time. it was fleeting. and conditional
also dutchs whole deal with the wapiti tribe is the real killer for him morally. the whole point of helping them was to prove a point. and not for the tribes benefit but for himself
sure it was a "distraction" but he gave no plan for it afterwards. he wanted the rush of it. he was hurt and scared and therefore angry. he recognized eagle flies righteous anger and eagerly encouraged him into a death trap and when eagle flies dies. he backtracks. says that it was all according to plan. at that point he's grasping at strings. he's chewing off his own leg to escape the trap and that leg is all he is as a person
he's casting off the ideals and the dreams because he has convinced himself they are obsolete. he has nothing left to lose and to him nobody wants him anymore. and he's violently bitter about it. the way hes so shocked that micah was duping him. the vulnerability of his ignorance in that moment. the realization of his failure in that moment was destroying for him. he did all that for nothing. threw away everything he had known and tied himself into a knot trying to escape the trap he was led into. and then he was forced to reckon with the only leg he has left and the fact that he's bleeding out
but even more fascinating is how adamant he is that he was betrayed. admitting to his failure is too much for him. it would make everything they ever said about him true and he can't handle that. but also the way he runs back to micah for revenge. he cannot let go no matter what. he drags the trap along with him in a spiral of bitterness that quite literally lasts until his dying day
he kills micah for himself. to soothe the failure of killing his son
and then he goes on to create a new gang. with the people he admires. people who are full of righteous anger. it feels as if he's attempting to relive his life through all of this. this time he's not going to fail. this time he won't take any chances
dutch's greatest malady is that he cannot let go. but he also cannot look
he cannot obtain his redemption because he can't face down nor let go of what he's done
he's stuck in limbo fighting for the sake of figthing
he says it himself. all he's ever done is fight and he continues to no matter what. in the littlest of ways like snapping at the hand that wants to help him to killing men by the droves to slay the unseen enemy thats in his mind
it all circles back to the vicious cycle that red dead redemption is meant to be
it's meant to be a cautionary tale. and dutch is the prime example. he doesn't want to look at he what he's done but nonetheless cannot let go
even if he never wanted to continue the cycle he continues it anyways through never facing it
and he would rather throw himself from a cliff rather than seeing it. dutch was tired of fighting. but he never stopped running

I'm discovering a lot about Chinese mythology, mainly that the difference between a celestial or god and a demon really just amounts to if they have heaven's approval or not.
Basically yeah.
Its why Princess Iron Fan is techinically considered both a Celestial and a Demoness/Rakshasa. She became the latter when she abandoned/got kicked out of Heaven. And the Monkey King is techincally considered a "Celestial animal" due to him being their ally despite his confusing origins.
Obtaining "Godhood" is a lot more complicated. Sun Wukong is *techincally* a god, but not to the extent of say Erlang or Nezha. It's heavily based upon belief and what mortals believe you to be.
A similar example I can think of is my own country's (Ireland) mythology. The squad of the Tuatha Dé Danann are "Gods" but they're not "GODS" - thats saved for deities like Samhain or the Morrigan. The Tuatha are more akin to a superhero league who are also kings. The "true" Gods are things that cant be changed, destroyed, or created easily; like the arrival of winter or death. A Tuatha can be overthrown, the Morrigan can not.
Similarly in Chinese Mythology (most of which is a conglomerate of multiple folk religions plus Daoism, Buddhisim, and Hinduism), beings such as the Jade Emperor or Nezha are Gods in the way that they interact with humanity and the forces of nature, but you also have the big names of the Three Pure Ones which are more revered with respect. And lets not get into the complications that is a god/celestial or mortal becoming Bodhisattva - that basically means that they've reached enlightenment but decided to stay on earth to help.

anyone else get bored and take morality quizes as chracters they like? No? Just me? Anyways heres the results
Tumblr media
(more precise info under cut)
here's the quizz in question btw: https://www.idrlabs.com/moral-alignment/test.php
and the more precise results!
The lawful good peeps are,
March 7th (100% good 39.2% lawful),
and Welt (85% good 47.5% lawful)
Acording to the testn; people who are Lawful Good believe that an orderly, strong society with a moral government can work to make life better for the great majority of the people. When the laws are fair, the people respect them, and try to help one another, humanity as a whole prospers. Therefore, people who are Lawful Good strive for a social order that will bring the greatest benefit to everyone and cause the least harm. Lawful Good personalities may sometimes find themselves faced with the dilemma of whether to obey the law or do good when the two conflict. For example, when upholding the law of the land would lead to unfairness or harm or when there is a conflict between two orders of what is right, such as between the ways of their community and the law of the government.
the Neutral good queen is Himeko (47.5% good and 30.8% chaotic)
According to the test being neutral good is for people who are guided by their conscience and typically act altruistically, with only secondary regard for whether their actions are lawful or in line with cultural expectations or traditions. Neutral Good individuals have no problems with what is lawful as such, and nor are they rebels by nature, but they believe in furthering kindness and good deeds through whatever means seem necessary to them. If fostering good means supporting an organized society, then that is what must be done. If good can only come about through the overthrow of the existing social order, then so be it. For many who are Neutral Good, insistence on either lawfulness or rebellion is seen as detriments to or distractions from the greater goal of promoting true kindness in the world.
Obviously the trash racoons where gonna be chaotic good so Caelus and Stelle both score 68.3% in the good catergory and 43.3% in the chaotic department (lower then I thought tbh-)
this implies that
The are strong individualists marked by a streak of benevolence. They believe in the greater good and being kind to others but have little use for laws and regulations. Their actions are guided by their own moral compass which, although benevolent, may not always align with the rest of society. They place a high value on freedom, not only for themselves but for others as well. Chaotic Good individuals intend to do what is right, but their methods are generally disorganized and may lead to conflict when they come into contact with those who prefer extensive organization and planning.
and least but not least the grumpy man in true neutral Dan Heng (22.5% good and 14.2% lawful)
Meaning that people who are true neutral such as Mr. Dan Heng himself believe in the ultimate balance of forces, and they refuse to see actions as either good or evil. True Neutral individuals do their best to avoid siding too strongly with any one force, whether that force is good or evil, lawful or chaotic. For this reason, True Neutral personalities sometimes find themselves drawn into rather peculiar alliances, friendships, and life paths. To a great extent, they side with the underdog, sometimes even changing sides as the previous loser becomes the winner. Such people often see good, evil, chaos, and laws as simply prejudices that lead to dangerous extremes. Like the Taoist masters of ancient China, they tend to believe that the universe functions best when the light and the dark, the yin and the yang, are in balance.
Anyways thats all and I'm still bored so expect our buds the stelleron hunters soon

Talk about how BK stans are wierd about Izu. But lets talk how Izu's abuse was deliberate on Hori's part (again, this is not "random guy pressing many buttoms" he sit down and wrote this shit) and how people, mostly BK's stans ignore in favor of fanon bkdk
Izu's dad is mia (In Japan some families use actors to pretend to be the kid dad's. Like wow ) and we dont even know his job.
Inko is a beglectful mom, thanks to how Hori wrote her. (For those reading, neglectful doesnt need to always be "she ignored how her kid is starving" Inko never bother to know her own son or do anything)
Why Izu accepts he is useless? Not victim blaming here but....this is smth I don't get why Izu nods and accept he is useless. "A lesson in hopeless" which could explain but...that would have to apply to others students who were abused by BK. And they seem fine.
(Also the lil shit Izu saved from Bk and turns against Izu later...why? I get kids can be assholes! But while the lil shit doesnt need to be Izu's bff...why try to please BK?)
Hi @mikeellee 👋
Both Bakugou stans and Hori (to a lesser extent) are horrible when it comes to Izuku, they both seem to treat Izuku as the cheerleader / supporting act to Bakugou.
Bakugou's /BkDk stans (mostly) tend to write what they wish to see - an asshole with a heart of gold who redeems himself and proves himself worthy of being Izuku's partner. While seemingly unknowingly writing him as abusive - screaming at his partner, still calling him a "Shitty Deku" but fondly or doing worse like causing Izuku to try and kill himself or dumping Izuku via text while Izuku is in hospital...
All the while Hori neglects Izuku and his family sidelining him for the Todoroki's (no hate to the Todofam) but...
Where's Midoriya Hisashi? If he's AFO you would think Hori would build up to this moment / give Izu deja vu when he sees AFO - anything? Or is Hisashi a random asshole civilian who upped and left his family or tragically died?
Why does Midoriya Inko act so neglectful yet worried? How Hori writes Inko is pretty poor honestly. In canon, she's not an evil, mean mum nor is she supermum like I've seen the most common fandom perceptions be - She's just there. A true background character. She's just stood there not doing anything while her quirkless son gets violently beaten up for ten years and does nothing. (She had to have had some idea what was going on, no four year old could hide being exploded.) Yet U.A post Kamino she threatens to pull Izu out - now Izu has a quirk, why this change in attitude now Izu has a quirk? Hori never shows her actively doing things for Izuku like a mother should; she cries and worries but thats all she does - while Izuku comforts her! At least other shonen parents have the excuse of being dead so therefore being unable to protect their kids...
Izuku seemingly accepting himself as useless... It began with the acceptance of the hero name 'Deku' to me it felt like someone, who had been bullied for their disability, making their hero name "Spaz" just because a new friend at UA called them once that - 'but in a nice way.' So that "makes it ok now!" When really it doesn't - certainly not like how MHA showed, in real life moments like reclaiming the insult (especially with a history attached like Izuku's does) has to take a lot of work. It felt like whiplash to have Izuku suddenly "be ok with it." And honestly... I don't think he is truly, he still thinks of himself as useless and thats reinforced by 1) everyone around him calling him "Deku" still - including Bakugou. Izuku's internal monologue even supports that he still thinks of himself as useless which is just SAD at this point. 2) Izuku rarely (if ever) getting any rightful praise. 3) Izuku getting shared blame for shit that is Bakugou's fault alone. House arrest should have been just Bakugou's punishment and Izu should have kicked his ass to the moon.
And for your final point, that is true that kid is a little asshole and you would think that in a school where most people are aspiring to be heroes there would be some (other than Izu) trying to stand up for people being bullied against Bakugou...
But at the same time it's realistic for a class to be afraid of the violent loud mouth bully who is strong and unafraid to throw a punch. Imagine that but throwing explosions, burns and explosive punches - yikes.
Either way, Bakugou's popularity should have tanked with his 'garbage personality' when he got into U.A but Hori wants to wank him off.

Arya thought about it. "You saw what was there." "Just so. Opening your eyes is all that is needing. The heart lies and the head plays tricks with us, but the eyes see true. Look with your eyes. Hear with your ears. Taste with your mouth. Smell with your nose. Feel with your skin. Then comes the thinking, afterward, and in that way knowing the truth." (Arya, AGOT) Tyrion cocked his head sideways. "Did you mean to answer your damned riddle, or only to make my head ache worse?" Varys smiled. "Here, then. Power resides where men believe it resides. No more and no less." "So power is a mummer's trick?" "A shadow on the wall," Varys murmured, "yet shadows can kill. And ofttimes a very small man can cast a very large shadow." (Tyrion, ACOK)
these are essentially the same lesson regarding the nature of power and it is the foundation that asoiaf is built upon. arya (the character who is consistently treated as if she has a politically irrelevant arc lol) receives it before even tyrion in the very first book. syrio tells her a story about how he became first sword of braavos by seeing through the illusion of grandeur that fooled everyone else. the sealord's cat wasn't a "fabulous beast" he was just an every day cat, but people saw what they expected instead of what was there. thats how power works. as tyrion and varys say: its a mummer's trick, a shadow on the wall.
its super interesting to me that this concept is introduced so early on in the series by the sealord of braavos via syrio. i'm confident this is the same sealord who is currently ailing in braavos. he tested syrio with the cat and rewarded him for seeing the true thing. but its suggested (both in and out of the books) that the sealord himself might not the ultimate power in braavos either. which just makes his action's in syrio's story all the more intriguing to me.
my instinct is that the sealord is a puppet ruler to a certain extent. i think the faceless men/iron bank duo have all the real power. how not? they control the finances. they control who lives and dies. but im not counting the sealord out. we know he has a reputation that is easygoing to the point of foolish, but he showed great wisdom in syrio's account. playacting is a theme in braavos and thats likely what he's doing. i think he's going to be a wyman-esque type figure when he finally meet him. someone who plays at being weak, but is a cunning political player.

dan and 13s relationship is funny bc, okay im definitely probably making the doctor slightly more hostile than she is/would be in canon bc of whump purpose circumstances (shes mean when shes being poisoned) however, it still is the case that they have had like, two conversations one-on-one in canon? at the end of 13x2 when theyre gonna save yaz - the extent of which is "this is a trap. we have to get yaz. do as i say" - and then eotd "she like likes you"
theres a few more where they have a conversation with other people also there. if we take those into account it's like:
1 - end of 13x1 "sorry heres your house. also im now involving you in saving the universe nope not optional sorry again"
2 - end of 13x2 "karvanista im taking your guy"
3 - still end of 13x2 "we're saving yaz. this is definitely a trap. do as i say"
4 - 13x3 "sorry youre lost in your own timestream but im fixing it dont worry"
5 - end of 13x3 "do as youre fucking told i told you to do as youre told rule 1 do as i say!!!"
*interlude where dan lives 3 years of his life in the 20th century* this would not have happened if he hadnt gone with the doctor in 13x2. becomes good friends with yaz tho. he has had well counted 5 interactions with the doctor. you can barely call them conversations. hes mostly just been ordered around. even jericho has spent more indepth time with her being stuck in that house surrounded by angels. 5 interactions. now 3 years with yaz. okay just wanted to make that clear. back to the program
6 - 13x6 "hi dan, since youve had such a great time in my blue box and also coincidentally do not have a house, wanna come spend some more time in my blue box? oh i also have yaz here that might be convincing"
7 - eotd first time dan initiates. "i'll go distract that second dalek while you two figure out how to solve all this"
8 - eotd second time dan initiates! on a roll! "she like likes you". or perhaps the more important point: "you know exactly what youre doing with her"
9 - lotsd "your clothes oh my god what are you thinking". first conversation that feels like it involves all three of them and is not two-of-them-talking-and-one-standing-by. gives a GREAT impression of the doctor-companion hierarchy at play. "yaz did you dress dan up like this??"
10 - lotsd "dont diss dan, dans my mate!" echoing yaz in eotd. another good picture of the doctor-companion hierarchy
the fic im writing is set between lotsd and potd so this is the space im interested in rn but for the sake of completeness:
11 - potd dan iniating for the third&last time: "im out ✌️"
so heres my interpretation of their relationship right. i think 13x5 is a tipping point. before 13x5 they Do Not know each other. at all. dan is barely more than another "lad who ive not even met yet". shes met dan, but thats kind of it
up to 13x5 the only interactions dan has with the doctor are being ordered around and being invited on board. this is also still true up to 13x6 but by then he has extensive secondhand experience of her through yaz
crucial that for the doctor in 13x6 wrt dan nothing has changed. he has a fairly good impression of who she is at this point, i think. their firsthand interactions on the other hand still only consist of ordering around and being invited on board
so 13x5 first flipping point. second flipping point is eotd because now dan starts iniating conversations, and not just conversations but really like kinda deep ones too. seeing as their interactions up to that point consisted of "do as i say" and "come aboard my tardis" this must really, like, threedimensionalise both of them to each other. bc so far both of their impressions of each other are mainly through yaz. dans idea of the doctor is through yaz and to the doctor i think dan is mostly just a friend to yaz
but here in eotd they start getting glimpses of each other firsthand, or at least the doctor gets some of dan, dan had already some of the doctor (see: ordered around), and i think this is why i tend to gravitate to making 13 fairly hostile toward him. it's also bc i put her in vulnerable positions where she will be more hostile to everyone, but i also can imagine he poses a bit of a threat to her. the first real thing he ever said to her was directly attacking like her main emotional defenses that shes held for 5+prison years years. i dont think she would be overtly hostile, i think she'd just make sure to keep yaz between them as a buffer, not to be in a room alone with him
similarly i cant imagine dan has all that great of an impression of her! he met her psychologically not in a great place, not exactly nice to anyone really, shes ordered him to shut up and follow more than shes had a real conversation with him, AND hes seen yaz Like That for 3 years and then the doctor Like That for a week and immediately decided to intervene. i dont think he thinks shes nice! because she hasnt really been
so the point im trying to get to is - idk if i had one but - they both have a close relationship with yaz, but i dont think theyre like, comfortable roommates necessarily. i think theyre friendly, sure, but i also think they have never really been in a room alone together. i think they keep yaz as a buffer between them and then are polite and friendly, but i dont think they like each other, actually. at all. i cant imagine they do.
and if youre thinking about scenes where the doctors vulnerable, which i do bc i like using the space between lotsd and potd to upset her, then i think they both would try to make sure that dan never has to see her in distress. like i think you could make a comparison between the scenes at the end of 11x2 where first the fam sees her super upset and then when yaz comments on it in the tardis she brushes it off and the fam kinda takes that as a boundary that they try not to cross (until like s12 comes around and it becomes almost impossible bc things are so obviously wrong) AND the scenes in eotd where first dan is like "do something about yaz" and then when yaz asks about what the doctor meant abt her actions catching up with her, the doctor looks at dan there and goes ":) nothing :)"
anyway i dont have a real point this is just vibes bc of course i put them in a room alone together and made them talk so i had thoughts. dont know if theyre good. but their relationship is fucking weird. honestly like if dan is a doctor mirror then youve got the doctor here going "do not get emotionally involved with me!" and dan going "i wasnt planning on it!"
everything dan says in his goodbye to the doctor he actually says to yaz. like you should just swap them out. because yaz is the doctor to his companion. dan&doctor is not a doctor-companion relationship thats the core of it. but then the question is, what the fuck is it
i'll end with this shot i just randomly paused on bc it captures my feelings on the situation fhjhgjkhg

You something else i hate about Acotar?
Its the way family is portrayed.
Weather it be the IC dynamic or the Archeron family dynamic its just so fcking messed up!
Both the families revolve around one person (Rhys and Feyre) and the characters are judged based on how they treat/talk to that person. They are defined and labelled 'good', 'bland' and 'evil' with respect to that one character. Lets look at the IC first then we'll get to the Archeron family.
Mor is a girl boss, and "loves freely". She can tell Nesta, a traumatised child in comparison to her that she deserves to be sent to a torture prison from which she escaped and that can be justified by saying she is "protective over her family".
Now, I personally fcking hate Mor. And i also know that her being queer is a retcon but fck! it says so much about her relationship with her so called family. After 500 years she still doesn't feel comfortable coming out to them? Now thats saying a lot.
In acosf, Amren, Cassian, Mor almost everyone treat Cassian like absolute shit. He is their brother yet Azriel says that Elain should not be out in danger but its perfectly ok to put his brothers mate in danger? Amren totally treats Cassian like some jock whose acting out again cause he wants his dick in some bitch. Mor, don't even get me started on that dipshit. If she supposedly loves freely, she wud actually think about how it must hurt those she cares (feyre and Cassian) about because of the way she treats someone they care about (Nesta). Like the way the entire IC treat Cassian like absolute shit throughout the entire book. Force him to watch as they slut shame his mate, force him to watch as they put her in dangerous situations, force him to watch as she is kidnapped into a dangerous rite that can get her killed, force him to watch as the force her to seduce another man?
AND RHYSAND.
He legit treats Cassian like he is nothing more than his dog. He is a fcking general of the armies yet he treats him like he is a dumb hunk who needs to improve himself to be of any use? what was even the part of making him play courtier? who gave rhysie the right to "test" cassian? This is not the relationship between two brothers who are equals. This is fcking toxic if not downright abusive.
Also with the Azriel bonus chp. Instead of understanding and consoling how his brother, who feels left out (rightly so) and calling him out on his fck boy behaviour towards his sister in law, he just orders him around and pulls out his HL status.
And then with Mor, inviting her abusers into her safe place (Velaris), making deals with her ex-fiance who was the cause of said trauma, ( I highly doubt she's saying the full/true story bout that) that involves Eris to visit frequently. All this without her knowledge. He invalidates her? No wonder she doesn't feel comfortable coming out to them even after 500 years.
Now one could argue that Azriel and Casshole are brothers. And uk what yeah to some extent I wud agree with u. The only brotherly love shown is between those two. And uk why? Because the power dynamic is equal. They are both ostracised bastards. They are both powerfull Illariyans. They both hold High Positions in the NC. But Rhysand on the other hand? He literally pulls out his HL status all the time. He uses his power over his family members. It's doesn't matter that he doesn't like doing that. He still does it.
Mor, Azriel and Cassian all came from fcked up backgrounds but they didn't find love and acceptance among each other. No they found it in Rhysand. Their position, power and family only exists because of Rhysand. Because he deemed them worthy of being his family. And that gives him power over them. Which ultimately makes the whole concept of family fall apart.
I mean thats not the Inncer Circle, its the Rhysand Worship Circle.

laineyy. laineyy help me. i keep going into the good omens tags and i see people being so so so SO sure about the fuckin coffee theory. lanieyy they hate Fun. they hate Nuance. they hate Aziraphale being an abuse victim desperate to make a toxic system good for him and his partner. there is no end to the coffee theory posts. I need to douse myself in fics of zira being just enough of a bastard to be worth knowing just to remind myself that he is a Flawed, Deeply Traumatized, very Silly little character who doesn't need magically poisoned coffee to do a stupid thing.
insert stickman gore meme image of me gripping your shoulders w my teeth bared
AHJDFHB I GET U .tbh when i first heard the coffee theory i was omg !! but upon thinking about it more ive grown to be like. Welll that is actually erasing everything properly complex about him. i get why people like it so much though TBH but its frustrating to see how disconnected the theory began to feel from aziraphale's character. like i do believe the coffee had something to do with things (not in the extent the coffee theory seems to suggest) because its good omens, every scene/little thing has some purpose to it even if it feels like it doesnt.
i think most people drift to the coffee theory because they need something to blame or a solid reason why aziraphale did what he did. i dont know if they fully realize there already IS a reason, crowley even says it himself, that heaven (and hell) is toxic for the both of them. I think a lot of them gravitate towards the coffee theory is because his actions at the end of the season are so different to how he acted throughout the entirety of s2. why would he willingly leave crowley when he was heart-eyeing him all season? when he set up an entire dance then pulled crowley into it with him. the whole "our car" (and even "our bookshop") and i GET that, thats what i was thinking when i first learned about the coffee theory, but his actions do fit him... it is something he would do. i mean how he acts all of s1 supports that, and even though its been a few years between s1 and s2, there is no way over that time aziraphale /completely/ got over heaven and its influence over him. and well... it didnt. we see that.
i have the same sort of feelings on this towards the liar theory (somewhat. idk i dont really know that much about it) and the every post saying aziraphale wants crowley as an angel back/loved him as an angel. because for the second bit, that isnt at ALL what he's saying when he's telling crowley he can become an angel again. aziraphale constantly is saying how nice crowley is and we know he thinks crowley is better than heaven. if metatron is offering to give crowley's angel status back then surely that means heaven realized they made a mistake making crowley fall - that surely they realize how good crowley is. and if thats true, if they did realize they made a mistake, then surely aziraphale /can/ fix heaven. surely he can make it good enough for crowley, because crowley is too good for heaven.

I tried to sleep early for once and now im awake now so???
Anyway Ive been holding in those dichotemy thoughts for a long yime Ive talked about it before that post because Im incapable of shutting up but like- I clued into those when I watched AKAA for the first time and I just had to go quietly insane about it since I was so scared that people would be mean about it.
Assorted sleepy thoughts about it:
-Mikoto also falls into this, Milgram I see your “playing into bias” narrative moves, you do not frame someone this much in blood and this much shadow if you arent trying to scare Someone. Mikoto being the most obviously horror movieish in MeMe was the biggest hint that something was up with it- why in thre series filled with murderers is this guy so scary huh Milgram??? What about this guy in particular? What was so different about him huh? I love it when stories do this shit- its always So Fucked I love it.
-Both TIHTBILWY and I Love You play into this to some extent but its much more subtly present in TIHTBILWY. That pouncing animation? The phone scene? The lyrics about matching pain and break up rituals? Fantastic, 10/10. Giving her Psychogram was even better.
-Going Back to Magic Amane is like…not scary, at all in Magic. She is Not Terrifiying in it. Its not even an After Pain Muu situation where if you look back you can see her “true colors” hidden behind the surface- Magic Amane is only really “scary” in that one shot where her eyes turn into spirals and thats less scary and more “quietly horrifiying if you know the implications”
Magic Amane was not scary and we voted her guilty so she could improve- I can imagine Yamanaka fucking cackling when the verdict was finalized. Which fair enough!
-Haruka and Muu play into this so hard that if I wasnt so Amane-brained the post would of been about them. I wonder if Haruka and Muu were partially intended to see how the audience would react to characters that used to be “appealing” but now are “people” and thus aren’t easily infantalized.
This leads into fun Audience-Kotoko paralles (useless weaklings should just shut up and let me protect them!) like- we’re pulling a Kotoko and I am (narrativly) Here For It!
-Muu Its not my fault is soo very good with this lens. Since- she really did do bad things! They all did! And Muu’s so unwilling to change its going to destroy her one day! Muu always tried to position herself as a “good victim” or “powerful person” its fantastic, I love it, itll destroy her one day.
-I hope this doesnt need to be said but dont use this to judge your morality or smthn. Im stating this cause Im relizing that if I didnt think about this all the time Id hound myaelf with guilt over playing into nasty dichotimies but also this is just some fun narrative stuff that is intended to make you reflect on real life, not a judgement of your moral character- I fall into that trap too easily so Im just gonna put that here.
