It's 4am and I can't sleep so I'm ranting abt transformers comics again

The transformers (2009), and largely all of the "on earth content" thus far, has been kinda annoying tbh. There's lots of good stuff in there and I'm still overall enjoying myself but basically anything involving the humans is just. Wack.

This is largely because none of the human characters are interesting or likeable at all. Verity Jimmy and Hunter were interesting!!! I liked their dynamics for the most part and enjoyed how they interacted with the autobots but all of these badass military guys are boring and stupid! I mean the only one who's fleshed out in the least is Spike who's just supposed to be this sexy badass who's a tactical genius and gets lot of trim but he's the worst lmao. He's overpowered and annoying and just a nothing of a character. Also it's outrageously stupid that he's able to single handedly take down a constructicon with nothing but "dumb tech" like I can't even take that seriously.

But the really irritating thing is I just can't understand why they're still on earth! They keep acting like they're the last of their race and they have no where to go but new people keep showing up! Where tf did cosmos come from?? Shouldn't Optimus, as the leader of their species be like, be trying to pick up the scattered remains of this army after the war?? why ARE we kicking around on the mud ball im with Roddy and the decepticons on this one. Like it's irritating because hot rod is objectively right when he wants to leave! The humans don't want them there and are actively killing them! Perdonally i dont rly like thr implications of what theyre doing to the captured decepticons (but who cares right) but if the concern is decepticon attack roddys right they literally have thay covered (see above, one human single handedly taking down a constructicon). Not to mention we already know they've tortured and mutilated autobots in the past so who's to say they aren't still??

I just don't understand. the constant dick sucking of the human race. Speaking as a human, I don't need this in the story. Why are we constantly being shown that actually it's the humans who are the badasses and the transformers who are at their mercy. First off, I don't believe you, and second off, then why don't they leave??? Like every five minutes we get a speech abt how humans are amazing and resiliant and so powerful and resourceful and and kind and wonderful and the humans are meanwhile like sorry we weren't listening we were too busy inventing a device that makes autobots explode while simultaneously setting off all our nuclear weapons at once.

Honestly I think I wouldn't be so annoyed with the overpowered human race thing, like to a certain extent its an interesting dynamic, but what's most irritating is the autobots reactions to it. After literally everything humans have done to them they're still just like wow, humans are amazing, we should live here forever. This plan sucks!!!! Pls can we plsss just go back to space!!!

........ALSO Optimus just turning himself into the humans custody for bad leadership crimes because,,,,,, humans killed ironhide,, and he feels responsible,,,,,, so he's going to get captured by then, so they can kill the rest of his men without impediment???? Dude, get your boys out of there!!!!

Hi! I'm Rose or Moni. I'm a silly Australian who's a bit too obsessed with transformers, specifically Ratchet. A couple of interests of mine are writing, fitness, traveling, paleontology/fossil collecting, space/the universe in general, and some others I haven't identified yet.

This will mainly be a Transformers x Reader blog. I will write fics that come into my mind or you can request them! My ask box will remain open most of the time so feel free to drop by! hiding this under a read more because i feel like ranting about the Characters as usual.. also by doing this i’ve uncovered a theme and it’s law enforcement or law enforcement adjacent characters… this brings me great shame as a so called progressive so i’m just throwing out the suitcase instead of unpacking any of this

in no particular order…

1. kaidan —mass effect

my love for kaidan specifically but mass effect in general broke me out of a 6 year writing break lol something about him!!!! since my first fic after the break, i’ve written over 100k words, THATS the power of love baby!! also he has the best eyebrows in fiction period

2. cullen —dragon age

my most written character SO FAR, my wife, his awkwardness and clumsy flirting bewitched me body and soul… funny story i was on tumblr when this game originally came out like 10 years ago and i was seeing all the gifsets of cullen and loved him as a blorbo-in-law and then i finally played the game and remembered him so yall could call this a slow burn lmao (i need to be put down asap)

3. kotallo —horizon forbidden west

he is also my wife, i love hero worship so as soon as he decided to GIVE HIS LIFE to follow aloy i was hooked, one of my favorite fics that i’ve written is a hero worship study of his relationship with aloy, the drama potential is so good here

4. charlie montague —deathloop

literally the definition of pathetic wet cat man, gamer to boot, he is irresistable but i want him to be beaten savagely, i wrote a fic about him and had my fantasies of clowning on him realized through fia… again the POWER of fiction lol

my brainrot for disco goes so hard, it’s the only video game tattoo i have out of many tattoos, of harry in the karaoke scene, which had SUCH an impact on me my god…. he’s the og wet cat pathetic loser and the love of my life..

Heeey moot! Just woke up! Even though I'm late, I just wanted to say that you deserve to write whatever tf you want and I'm sorry some peeps were harassing you about The Pact. I don't think folks know how hard it is to not only write, but then to post it for others to see. So, for them to criticize you when it's just a fun fic that they can ignore or filter out (tags on ao3 are meant to be used geez) its wild to me. You're doing something very unique with the characters and including a lot of different subgroups of the queer community splendidly while keeping them flawed like real teens - all in 1 fic. As a demi ace myself, I was so happy to see you incorporate that in your fic respectively and a lot of my queer Sex Ed came from detailed, researched fics bc even though my parents and school system talked to me about sex, there was nothing for the queer kids, let alone ace kids to get guidance on. So, for fic readers/writers like me, using fics to explore sexuality was a godsend.

Can't help but also think it's the biphobia kicking in again, specifically for characters like Mike. No one has a problem hc Max as bi even though it seems like lumax is clearly endgame over elmax or elumax, but when it comes to Mike being bi it's like the world is ending despite it clearly being byler endgame. I personally ship all hcs of Mike's sexuality cuz only Robin and Will have been confirmed queer. Everyone else in ST to me is undisclosed until stated straight or queer. But again that's me.

Also love your poly rep cuz my sib is poly and so were some of my grandma's cousins from 1950s-now. So, again, all or most sexualities explored in fics is a must, regardless if you ship it. I've always been a polypartycule shipper and enjoy how you include all party members and mention Duzie sometimes cuz too many times I found fics/hcs excluding the fact Dustin has a stable relationship with Suzie in favor of just highlighting byler and elumax as the romantic ones of the party.

Sorry for the rant but I had to let it out. I hated scrolling through my feed and seeing that post you made of folks getting heated over fiction like you're gonna convince the Duffers to change the whole script. Anyways I hope my support is felt. This is still me typing in a sleep daze and yeah. I'll continue reading your work cuz I enjoy good writers first and foremost and omg lol you made it having some harrassers cuz the greatest books were on the banned book list. Not saying you deserve the irrational hate, but that's how I'm framing it - this is giving "banned book energy" just cuz The Pact is exploring romantic madwheeler when no one cares about byclair or henderhop or henclair (despite folks labeling El as a lesbian). Thanks so much for the positive vibes!!! I truly appreciate it. I guess I was just feeling a little let down that a select few people made it so far into a fic and then were angry about the way things were going and/or felt the need for me to tell them the ending. At first it didn't bother me, but after answering the same questions 1,000 times and trying to sort of reassure everyone it got to a point of being exhausting! I want to talk about the fic, but I don't really want to have to defend my writing/story/ship choices every chapter. It's kind of exhausting and was bringing me down a little bit. But anyway, enough about that.

I am SO GLAD that you are like...really vibing with some of the choices in that story? Especially with your unique pov being demi ace and having poly family. I think that fanfiction can be a very important tool for a lot of teen when it comes to exploring sex, especially if it's not a cis het-normative type or even just....dealing with sex from a young person's pov and all of the obstacles that everyone faces in that regard. Also, I think it can just open up a conversation or make a person think about things that maybe they might not of before etc etc. Or! They can just enjoy those scenes for the writing/good time. I'm here for all of it.

I'm not sure if it's a biphobia thing? It honestly hadn't occurred to me, but you may possibly be right. I know a lot of people headcanon Mike as gay, which I fully support. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. I think if Byler happens in canon, he'll be unlabeled. BUT I do like to write Mike as bi, I personally think that there were feelings for El at some point. I personally headcanon him as a bi-romantic, and sexually leaning towards men. But that's just me....

But anyway, as that pertains to madwheeler, I also really enjoy the bi for bi Max and Mike dynamic, specifically because it's fun to write, and secondly it's another thing to add to their already similar personalities. And yea. I agree... unless a character's sexuality is specifically stated like El and Will's, there is room for exploration for most characters and that's what fanfic and art is for.

I do think there is this strange thought process regarding bi characters, that if they have a relationship with a person of the opposite sex it's like they're not "queer enough" for other people. Like it's somehow lesser than if Mike has a relationship with a woman, even though he already, in canon, is well, with a woman. And that people tend to forget that people are still bi, still queer, even if they are in the most outwardly straight presenting relationship, cause let's face it....you can't really help who you're attracted to and who you fall in love with. it just is.

And when it comes to the madwheeler in this fic, I am fully aware it is one of the least popular ships out there, but again, that is one of the reasons I wanted to explore it. And a a bi, poly person my self it was really interesting putting these characters in a dynamic where they were both involved with people of differing genders and orientations. It gives you a lot to work with when it comes to having things to write about! シ

And as you said, it also allows for some messy, realistic teenage angst! Which I am always a fan of! ;)

Anyway, thank you for the rant. I appreciate it so much, and am honestly still blown away by the positive responses to this story. Even if it's not everyone's cup of tea!

fictional characters are not people they’re literally pieces of a narrative. they are little chess figures that are written into existence to play their specific role in the story. their actions are fictional, their brains are fictional, and guess what!!! they’re meant to be interesting!! all of them!!! the heroes and villains alike are supposed to be compelling, and you’re supposed to want to dig into them and explore their characters because that is literally what media analysis is oh my god did any of you go to high school english class????

you are fully allowed to not like a character. you are allowed to see a character that’s a toxic piece of shit and be like ‘I really don’t like them, they remind me way too much of someone real in my life, I don’t get why other people like them’ but like that is your business and you do not need to make that other peoples’ problem!! you can block as many character tags and blogs as you want and curate your fandom experience as specifically as you please so you never have to see anything you don’t like or don’t agree with, that’s literally fine and fairly easy to do. you are not proving anything by shitting on people from the top of your high horse claiming that whether or not you can enjoy a character or not is like, a moral stance rather than just. a normal opinion about fictional media.

hell, rant to your friends about it if it bugs you so much!! make untagged posts just for your followers and curse out the characters you hate and their fans to your heart’s content! but you literally gain nothing by going out of your way to harass other people for liking things, or purposefully putting anti bullshit in a character tag. you’re likely not going to change anyone’s mind, and people who agree with you probably aren’t going to be checking that tag in the first place because guess what! they don’t like them, so they don’t engage with content for that character! it’s that simple!!!

 it pains me to write this cause the energy you two would have together could take down the whole world. you both are two confident baddies who know they’re cute but after a while, it would lowkey start to feel like you’re competing over things and one upping each other instead of supporting the other person. god, he’d give you the worst advice over things and if he tries to rant to you, i think your bluntness will just make him feel like you’re trying to be mean (hes the type where he needs to have things a bit sugarcoated sometimes) i don’t think ur the type to just be patient and willingly let volleyball be a priority over you like HUH? SOMETHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT ME? TF IS THIS BULLSHIT - and i don’t mean you’re priority #2 like i think you’d fall around 4 maybe 5 like jeez thanks. i think you would say it doesn’t bother you but what’s the point in being in a relationship when he hardly makes time for you and it’s clear to him and you that volleyball will always be his first love. you have your own shit to do and focus on, imagine you don’t show up to one of his games and he makes you feel bad (what if you don’t feel bad? he’d be so hurt)  you’re pretty as hell and he’d just make you feel like arm candy - does he even know your favorite song? what makes you upset? hell, ask him what color your eyes are and this fool will have a stroke trying to remember. i also envision you two to be the type where if he pisses you off and you give him the silent treatment, he’s not gonna put his pride aside and apologize to you first and you’re stubborn in your ways so you’re not gonna give and it’ll go downhill from there. PLUS two bad knees doesn’t equal one good relationship, yall are already off on the wrong foot ha. if i can be even more honest, your ideal relationship with oikawa is like him being an older sibling where you both can check each other on yalls shit while still caring about one another.

look, this was hard cause ill ship you with anyone and it fits but terushima? you’re not into jerky guys, especially the ones who don’t take no for an answer. in all honesty, i dont even see how you two would ever start dating. he’s cute and you’ll give him that and sure, you love confident guys but there’s something about terushima that is cocky yet so unmotivating at the same time. you have your dreams and ambitions but he doesn’t really have a plan. it’s okay to not know what you want to do but you need someone who is motivated with goals and terushima could care less about the future, he lives in the now. you make him insecure - you’re accomplishing so much and instead of feeling like he’s dragging you down, he feels like you’re purposefully trying to leave him behind to rub it in his face. also again, we don’t know too much about terushima except that he’s a very spontaneous guy with a tongue piercing (jesus ur parents would have a field day with him).

oh god this feels like an emotionally abusive relationship- you’re very sensitive, this isn’t news to anyone who knows you. tsuki is kinda a jerk and as much as i loved his character development, it doesn’t stray from the fact that he isn’t an emotionally available person- at least not enough to date you specifically. if you had a bad day and he doesn’t give you the amount of attention or doesn’t give helpful advice, you would take it to heart and 9/10 times would cause a tsunami of tears. and again, these aren’t necessarily bad traits but in a relationship if you’re clingy with him, he’s going to respond negatively- his relationship with yamaguchi would be the exact way he would treat you so you can’t expect special attention. he’ll introduce you as his friend and you’d be too shy to correct him - it feels like the whole relationship will just be you apologizing for tsuki’s words and actions to others and as much as i love you, you wouldn’t have a strong enough voice against him and his “jerkish” tendencies. HES LIKE IF YOU DATED UR PARENTS DFGHJK IM SORRY BUT THEY’RE SO MEAN! you need someone who would be emotionally/physically available for you 24/7 and someone who isn’t afraid to truly love you. get out while you can girl, go! for your mental sanity please.

 i dont think this combo would be toxic but its REALLY hard for me to picture this in my head??? i know you can be silly sometimes nana but you’re pretty serious and your paths in life are just so different. hes so extroverted and you like to be a lil more reserved so someone is bound to be out of their comfort zone. you can be very patient with people but i think it would be tiring to date bokuto knowing you would have to be the emotionally stable one between the two of you. he’s so sweet and he’s genuinely a good person but you need a partner where they aren’t so dependent on you- someone who it’s okay if you guys don’t talk all day and then when you two do see each other, you just pick up where you left off. you’re not one to be tied down and be available 24/7 and he needs someone who he can feel secure with without feeling insecure himself. so this one again isn’t toxic but i cant imagine yall kissing or anything so dont come for me

This is just me rambling after seeing a post but it honestly kills me sometimes to see how people compare some of the TF continuities sometimes. (Note: this is about bashing other shows/versions of characters, everyone is entitled to their opinions, you don’t have to like/dislike any character, but please don’t put bashings of things in the tags of whatever it is you’re ranting negatively about though I will say this isn’t about those who point out bad stereotyping used on characters in certain movies and stuff, keep calling that out. )

TF has so many forms of media for so many different age ranges, and between the shows and comics and movies the characters are very very distinctly different. A lot of people I see bashing a character because they’re “not as cool” “emotionless” “weak” “too emotional” “not the same” etc in comparison to other versions of themselves when the context is not the same, the character is blatantly not the same character. Some characters, of course, keep similar molds and backstories yet still change due to the context around them being different and the writers behind them having a unique perspective on the way their storyline should go. If you go to a different show looking for the exact same character you most likely will not find it even in the case of alleged direct sequels or things taking place in the same continuity.

I’ll admit that I personally didn’t think I’d like certain characters/shows. For example: Optimus is a comfort character of mine and as my comfort character I tend to have a very specific image of him. I thought I’d hate Animated because of how different their Optimus is until I realized they aren’t the same bot. I don’t even like IDW Optimus if I’ll be honest. Buuuut Comparing them and tearing apart the differences is fruitless especially when you’re doing it in a way that just floods the character tags with some form of hate towards said character or gods forbid the fans of said character. It’s enjoyable to examine the changes and uniqueness of the characters and the universes around them, of course, but picking that apart and critiquing every bit of it for not being exactly how you expected them portrayed is another story.

A common one I see tends to be Optimus (I’m mentioning him again sorry for that) that people tear apart. They either tear him apart in his Animated for being too happy/naïve or they tear him apart in Prime for being “emotionless” (I could go on for years about how he’s not and just bc a character/person doesn’t openly display emotions in the way you deem the norm/appropriate and the slight ties to ableism for how people attack this in particular while shaming those who dare “think” he has emotions doesn’t mean they don’t have emotions but that’s for another time) and tear him apart in G1 for not being serious enough granted I’ve seen less of this than the others but I’ve seen it nonetheless.

I love this fandom even though I’m new to it, but I’m already tired of seeing people go wild after some of the other continuities while shaming people for liking them or shaming them for liking certain characters. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve seen posts insulting people for liking certain shows and comics, or individual characters. You’re entitled to your opinions but please try keeping them out of the tags and don’t thrust them upon other folks just trying to enjoy their TFs! There’s no need for that, to each there own and whatnot.

The one that never shows up to class, yet aces it. Don’t hate me, I put a lot more stress on myself than necessary this way. I procrastinate too much, but absolutely can’t stand not doing well in school. So, I study last minute, write papers last minute, stay up all night the night before something is due. And then I’m all Squidward meme of him looking like hell handing in his work. I used to be the student that wouldn’t study at all, but would still get straight A’s -- until I started going to my last Uni, where classes were actually difficult and I needed to learn how to study properly asap.

Do you like school?

I love learning new things, but I don’t really like the way our education system goes about teaching us. They take out all of the curiosity and fun and just make it so stressful and expensive.

Ah so many? Game of Thrones, Grey’s Anatomy, Naruto, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Dream Knight (had to), Real Got7, Real Thai, literally any show with Got7 or Got7 members in it (Mafia, He is Psychometric), The 100, and many more I can’t think of right now...

Just one? Since I can never pick favorites, here’s another list. Almost any Disney movie (specifically The Lion King, Mulan, The Aristocats, Atlantis, so much more). Favorite books?

Let’s see... Honestly I read the hell out of the Warrior cats series when I was younger, judge me all you want -- I love that universe. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls was the first book to break my little heart, Winterdance by Gary Paulsen, The Promise of Stardust by Priscille Sibley, Night World series by L.J. Smith, Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. A lot of young adult romance books from middle and highschool as well.

Favorite pastime?

Anything pertaining to Got7 (reading fics, watching content, writing fics, editing pics, gushing about them with others, loving them at all times), watching youtubers like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye. Reading, writing, video games sometimes, finding pretty places to explore in nature

Do you have any regrets?

I regret allowing others take advantage of me and my kindness, and of not putting myself first from the beginning. I regret some of my choices on who I let into my life.

Dream job?

A writer who lives somewhere surrounded by nature, forest or sea idk. Maybe a travel writer. I feel like I would’ve made a good youtuber or streamer, if I had started earlier, like right from the beginning of youtube with all the big name gamers.

Scariest nightmare you have ever had?

Hm, I’ve had plenty of freaky ones... the most recent I can think of -- It was nighttime and I was in an unfamiliar house. The feeling of dread, tension, and terror was suffocating. I was hiding from... something. Some.. beast, was stalking me. It was like a weird hybrid of a werewolf, one of those deer skull creatures, and a human of some sort. And it was huge. I was sneaking around the house as quiet as I could, but since I didn’t know the house well... I turned a corner, and there it was. Thank goodness I can sometimes take control and lucid dream/wake myself up, because it was leaping for me and my subconscious was like NOPE and woke me tf up.

One that I had when I was a kid stuck with me forever. I was at a birthday party at this old mansion. There were so many kids there, my parents were there too, along with the parents of some of the other kids. We were all playing games and enjoying ourselves, and then we were gathered together while my dad brought the cake out. When I looked at the cake, I realized it was actually the head of some monster. I stepped back in shock, but as I looked around, I noticed that no one was fazed by this. Everyone was acting like it was a normal cake, like they couldn’t see what it really was. The  moment my dad started to slice the ‘cake’ I had to get out of there.

So I started running through the halls, trying to find a way out. It became dark and impossible to know where I was. I rounded a corner and saw the silhouette of a woman. Her back was to me. I started to ask if she could help me, but as the words were leaving my mouth, she slowly turned around and severed her own head off. Her head bounced to my feet, eyes stuck open. Blood was spurting out of both her head and the neck of the body that was still standing for a moment too long before crashing to the floor, covering my poor traumatized ass in so much blood. I don’t remember after that, I think I woke up.

Since I’m already on a rant, I’ll just finish with saying that, as a kid, I used to get nightmares about tornadoes all the time. Even though I had never seen one in real life at the time, and I live in a relatively safe place from that kind of weather. And it was always in those dreams that I could not run fast to save my life. I hate those dreams, where your in dream body is as physically useless as your current sleeping body, you can’t move fast, your punches are weak as hell, sometimes you can’t open your eyes or stand. Lots of fun. Okay, rant over. Ask me about my dreams sometimes, they can be pretty cool.

Honestly, I don’t think so. There’s a lot of people I don’t like, but people don’t tend to have a problem with me. Wanna be my arch nemesis?

Do you believe in miracles?

Yes~ life is a miracle, Got7 is a miracle, Ahgase are miracles, the world shows us little miracles each day, even if we don’t recognize them.
