I’ve read a few Irondad fics lately that have been so well articulated and beautifully written, and they’ve reminded me of your stories. But your work will always be the GOAT to me. Everything else I read is always compared to your version of the MCU, because that’s canon in my opinion.

I secretly love that your stories keep going, that Identity Within is still a WOP, because parting with a finished story when you reach the end… a story that you’ve grown to love and formed a bond with… it’s really hard to say goodbye. It feels a little like grief if I’m being honest.

I've had some very rough nights recently, thanks to the wonders of ₊˚ʚ ᗢ₊˚✧ ﾟ stress ₊˚ʚ ᗢ₊˚✧ ﾟI've got front row tickets to the "when it rains, it pours" show, and to add onto that, I started a whole new career where I'm *running a freaking business.* Yeah, sleep doesn't really happen as often as it should for me.

And because I'm still trying to sleep, I don't keep my mind operating at such a capacity that I could do anything worthwhile other than watch Tiktoks re-read through my series for shits and giggles, because I wrote it having wanted to read these things, and now I can go back and have fun reading the story that was once all jammed packed into my head. And in doing this, I tend to remember comments that made my entire day, month, year, and so I go into my inbox and just....I just read all the comments, over and over again, with such a profound, appreciative, ecstatic, blessed feeling in my heart.

The love that everyone has had for this series is what makes me still so deep in love with it today. And hearing that from people like you, who are so kind to take a minute of your time and express these things as if it were your first time ever reading the story...god, a girl couldn't be anymore lucky. Truly, #hashtag blessed.

My free time is far and few inbewteen these days (why did I decide to go run a freaking business 😳) but I promise you, no job will ever take this series away from me. I'm far too excited for everything that's yet to come, still to be written, and needs to be told, that I'll never leave this piece unfinished. Chapter 9, Bachelor Party, is one BEAST of a chapter that's nearing closer and closer to finished every day. I hope for an update within the month or two. It contains a whooping 17 characters in a single scene, with character interactions we damn right deserved in the MCU. 2/3rds of the way done and and I think my inability to control the word count says enough about what to expect.

These characters have gone through far too much to rush through chapters now. In fact, the more things go on, the richer things get -- and to know amazing people like you are along for the ride...that's just so dam nifty. ❤️❤️❤️

What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?

Dan used to garden when he was still living at the Superbi villa.

He started this hobby when he was fairly young, mostly because he wanted to help his mother but wasn’t allowed in the kitchen. So, baby Dan decided if he can’t help with the cooking itself he can at least provide the ingredients which is why he made his father buy him two basil pots and a book on how to take care of plants. Surprisingly, Dan was great at taking care of his basil, so his parents decided to fully support this new hobby and gave him responsibility over a small garden patch, where he could grow all the plants he wanted. Dan spent a lot of time on his little nook and with time he was allowed to expand it so he could grow even more produce.

Unfortunately, after accepting his position in the Varia he needed to leave his garden behind (after making sure his mother would take care of it). Nowadays, Dan doesn’t have the time to garden since he’s too busy making sure the Varia doesn’t collapse in on itself. He copes by taking plenty of walks in the gardens and woods. Sometimes he helps out the groundkeepers when it’s a slow day but that doesn’t happen often.

I’m going to skip the school part of this since it’s not really relevant for present Dan, hope that’s okay.

When Dan is on the clock, he’s stoic, professional, efficient. He cuts straight to the point and tries to use as little words as possible to conserve energy. He’s also strict and can come off as rude.

When Dan is off the clock, surrounded by family or friends he’s not really more expressive but he’s softer. He doesn’t frown as much, sometimes you even get the occasional smile if you are lucky. He might even make a joke or flirt if he’s in the mood (note: Dan doesn’t flirt with people that actually want to be flirted with for example Vlasta. He mostly uses flirting to fuck with people and only if he knows that the other person wouldn’t be uncomfortable with it.)

Now when he’s alone... Well, Dan is an introvert. He likes being alone, it’s how he gets his energy back. He lets his guard down, is way more open with his expressions (because no ones is going to see and judge) and sometimes he even talks to himself. But most of the time when Dan is alone he sleeps, it doesn’t matter where he is, his bedroom, the woods, a storage cabinet, if he’s off the clock and not around people for more then 10 minutes? He goes straight to dreamland.

Unsurprisingly, Dan heavily abuses the phrase “I need coffee” since that’s basically his knee jerk reaction when he is confronted with the Stupidity™️ of the Varia. “I need a raise” is also one of his catch phrases, Squalo hears that one a lot.

Hmmm if I try to recall really hard, then maybe Haru topping? At first, I was quite into the whole 左右固定 thing, in my mind Haru was the uke to Rin's seme. But then as I worked my way through their fics on AO3 (i.e., quickly running out of RinHaru smut to consume), I turned to HaruRin fics out of desperation; the need to quench my thirst overpowering any loyalty I had for my preferred ship dynamic. I have since seen the light and can see them switching once in a while. Or every so often. Or not at all. It could just be HaruRin and I'll still be drawn to it like a Haru to water 😌

TLDR Thanks to fanworks I've been converted. When it comes to these two, I'm down for all headcanons as long as they are endgame.

I think a big part of it stems from my wanting Makoto to get his time to shine outside of his friendship with Haru/to get the storyline he deserves from KyoAni. Since Rin and Haru are bedazzling and so blinding to the people around them... their best friends should be able to relate and find happiness in each other too 🤭

it happens a few more times until one day, where Allu lights up his famous Studio Candle (maybe as a joke, maybe because he wants the experience to be more intimate, but he tells Olli that it's good for concentration), there's a bottle of red wine half empty near them, and they're sitting so close to each other that Allu can feel Olli's heavy breathing next to his ear 🥰 so he turns around to face Olli, but seeing those beautiful blue eyes this close leaves him speechless (and the exact same thing is happening to Olli), and suddenly they're kissing, not knowing who made the first move but enjoying it anyway🥰

At the end of 5 with Shinada and Baba’s stories getting wrapped up together, they both have a friend/friends tell them that their existence is actually wanted along with the fact that their love interest also has something to say. Milky-chan wants to see Shinada again and passes the message through Takasugi while Saejima passes his message to Oshima and Himura and the warden who he told to go save Baba. It’s incredibly 🧐 Gosh, I’m rambling too much in your inbox, but there’s so much other stuff that makes me take a closer look at everything.

…I might need to replay 5. I remember that, but I hadn’t thought much about it. But when you put together the parellels between Shinada and Saejima…oh my gosh. Genius observation.

There is so much that RGG implies or plays with about these two that its hard to tell whether they intentionally queer baited or if this was their really strange (and bad) attempt at introducing more “explicit” homosexuality in their games (because shirtless buff men fighting each other totally isn’t gay 🙄). Like, I would have expected a queer-bait to have a bit more obvious displays, but who knows? RGG is basically writing Baba and Saejima’s relationship (platonic, romantic, whatever kind) as a soap opera. It’s just so, so interesting that these two have this many nuances to them. Their relationship is such a unique one, whatever kind it is.

I'm so glad to see that post, I've seen quite a few videos going "don't let anyone tell you you're wrong to knit continental" "despite what they say, continental knitting IS also proper knitting!" meanwhile I've never heard anyone say that ever, it's so strange! And then there's people in the comments saying things like 'there's a problematic history to this, I think poc/traditional cultures knit continental and english was seen as more polite and civilized which is why they tried to wipe out continental', implying that throwing is racist, picking is progressist and getting their info from I'm not sure where? There might have been confusion with events from the past century but I'd hardly call Germany a poc culture! To the point--granted, I haven't been in the yarn craft sphere of the internet for very long (I learned knitting, crochet, and needlepoint as a child from my great-grandmother and ever thereafter did them quietly to myself), but I don't see how much controversy there could actually be about this 😅? Everyone's lists of "knitting controversial opinions" "crochet hot takes" &c. has an entry like "it's okay to do things however you want to do them" as if that's not the least controversial thing you could possibly say.

I don't yet know much about the history of hand knitting, but I know that Victorian gentlewomen frequently used an English throwing technique while holding the working needle the way you'd hold a pencil--this technique, called "parlour knitting," was basically used to show off the elegance of the fingers and wrists to prospective suitors, but efficient or ergonomical it was not. So the idea of using one knitting style over another in order to demonstrate social superiority (in this case, to those who had to knit to earn money) is definitely there--but I'm not sure how much relevance this has to-day?

If anything, I've more often heard of continental knitting being aspirational / being cast as automatically faster or more sophisticated or something! Who on earth doesn't think continental knitting is "proper" knitting! Who said this to you!

Is this one of those situations like Goths supposedly caring a whole lot about what music other Goths listened to and whether it was "really" Goth, that I'm just too young to have seen or experienced firsthand? I have a cat! Her name is Nadja, and she is a beautiful little tiger. We also foster cats (primarily pregnant cats and mothers with kittens as that's what the organization is in desperate need of foster homes for) through a non-profit organization here. We actually fostered Nadja's mother, Nelly, a little over two years ago! She came to us as a foster 5 days before she gave birth to Nadja and her 4 brothers, and she chose us (read: she became obsessed with my boyfriend) when she was only a couple of weeks old. So we adopted her, and now she helps us take care of other foster cats and kittens that come our way! She's the sweetest, kindest girl and she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body, so she's a perfect foster sister and aunt for every foster cat and kitten that come stay with us.

My favorite place in my country is probably my home town, Sandnes, on the west coast of Norway. (I live in Oslo, on the east coast.) I also adore my boyfriend's home town, Tvedestrand, on the south coast. And I have a weakness for Bodø waaaaay up north. It's truly gorgeous up there.

My favorite food is actually Italian, haha! I love anything pasta or pizza related, and my favorite dish is probably pasta carbonara. And I do know how to cook! My mother is an excellent cook, and she's taught me so many recipes over the years that I will treasure forever.

I'm a horrible dancer, to be quite honest, and I very rarely dance (and when I do, I'm usually drunk). But I do think it's fun the few times I do it!

As for controversial habits: I don't smoke or do drugs, but I do love white wine. I only drink occasionally during the weekends, though, and I didn't actually start drinking until I was like 25. And I have had a Red Bull addiction for years, to such an extent that when I chose my favorite F1 team after years of only supporting drivers and not the team, I chose Red Bull solely because of that. 😅 When I commit to something, I stick with it and I've been a Red Bull girl since 2008.

In terms of coffee: I only like coffee that doesn't taste like coffee? I don't drink coffee all that often, but when I do, I go to Starbucks and I order white mocha because I am a basic white girl.

It’s so annoying to mess up with a word and noticing so late about it 😂 I recently downloaded wpswriter for a tablet because I won’t be able to have access to my laptop and I needed it to edit the stories, correct grammar mistakes and such, there’s a free version and it’s practically a word (copy paste!) you can even save on the internal cloud your document so for anyone without a laptop access this is also a good option on the go, it also has spreadsheets and presentations option 🙂 but yeah, agree on the notes they’re lifesaver !! Oh but word has the unsaved document options, in case you really need something there must be a tutorial to recover those…

The words levied at you burn your mind, swirling around your thoughts like a vicious storm. Deep down, you know it's nothing to be ashamed of— as you’re content and happy with your life— but your chosen... profession has a stigma that nips close at its heels.

The Zabrak who had spit that at you was not your Zabrak. He was some sneering, tight-lipped Iridonian Zabrak, with dull beige skin and minimal tattoos. Your Dathomirian Zabrak, with his masterful body art, would never say such a thing to you— Least not without your explicit consent.

The room's at a complete hush. Dead silence. Next to you, where Maul sits in his throne, you can practically feel the fire of his wrath searing the air. Cheeks burning with embarrassment, you continue to stare at your folded hands in your lap.

In your peripheral, Maul snarls and rises abruptly. His voice comes out in a deadly hiss, “What did you say?”

The words slice the stiff and unmoving atmosphere, and you look up just in time to see the Iridonian's haughty visage practically crumbles. He makes eye contact with you— fear written plain on his face— and you look away, at Maul.

He stands tall, fists clenched at his sides, his jaw muscles tense. A vicious snarl tugs his face into one that screams danger— a cobra coiled and braced to strike. His eyes are blistering, volcanic eruptions. Maul’s saberstaff hangs at his hip, sheathed, but waiting.

"I-I...! I meant no-no— Please forgive me.” The Iridonian stammers through a desperate plea for his life, taking several steps back, unknowingly bumping into the two black-armored Mandalorian guards who appear like harbingers of death behind him. He yelps when they sieze his arms, cries out in pain when one of the two kicks his knee out from under him. The beige Zabrak falls to the floor with a thunk!, held aloft by the iron grips on his upper arms.

“Please! I’m sorry! I beg of you!” You watch as the Iridonian begins to openly weep, sniveling in the face of his demise like the coward he is. Maul glances to you and clears his throat, gaining your attention. Though his expression is still furious, and his hackles raised and stern— His eyes are soft for you.

“It’s your call, my darling pet.” Maul says in a low rumble, and everything the other man said to you melts away. You give Maul a small smile, fiddling with the ruby on your choker, and although you’ve never considered yourself a vengeful person— You’re allowed to send a message here.

“I think he’d quite like being locked away for a little while, my Lord.” You reply, and Maul grins wolfishly, flicking his wrist. At once, the Mandalorians heave the prisoner into the grasp and without wasting a second, march out of the room. The sounds of the Iridonians pleads and screams disappear the second the doors close.

Maul steps closer to you, a dangerous grin on his face, and his gloved hand lays firm on the base of your neck. His thumb rubs circles on your skin, and you lean into his touch. Maul’s index finger loops around your choker just as his other hand rises to cradle your chin in his palm. He turns your head to look up at him, and you’re gone to his honeyed gaze.

“Fantastic decision, my pet.” He purrs, akin to a satisfied lion and just as regal. Then, in an action that’s quite rare combined with the praise, Maul leans down and plants a kiss to your lips.

😂 No one has said my name like that in a long time, so hiiiiii 😂 Thanks for sending this to me again! Also, thanks to @drarryruinedme7 and @queer-papayas for asking me/telling me to do it again (looking at you queer-papayas 😂). Thought I'd combine it into one thing so here goes 15 things I like about myself lol!

1. I like my hands and nails. Usually they're pretty well shaped and soft and look good with or without polish :)

2. I like my hair. I complain about it to some people, because I have a fringe and when I sleep it decides to stick up at odd angles, but it amused me no end. Also, it's pretty low maintenance really and that's my jam!

3. I like that I don't feel like I have to wear makeup. This is not makeup bashing, but I like that even though I am not confident in my body or looks I don't feel like I need to wear makeup to look better, I just carry on and hope no one calls me out on anything 😅

4. I like that I can sleeep. I hear too many horror stories of people only getting a few hours abjight and I LOVE that I can actually conk out for a solid 7-8 hours! Sometimes 10 if I'm lucky!

5. I like that I'm short. I get picked on for it all the time, and I have to get people to pick things off the top shelves for me, but I find it funny and I like being able to fit in small spaces :D

6. I like leaving random anon messages in people's inboxes on Tumblr because they have no idea it was you and I like seeing people get happy

7. I like my writing. It's fun, people enjoy it, and I find it cute

8. I like my memory for academic stuff, making uni etc usually pretty easy (but tell me to go to the shops for 4 things and I will forget one!)

9. I like my messy nature. It drives my fiancee up the wall, and yes, I lose things too damned often, but I like being chill like that, it's who I am

10. I like my ability to make friends, because we always need more friends and you never know what someone is going through, so they might need a friend more than you..

11. I like my extravert nature, which gets happy seeing people. Random interactions bring me joy and happiness and remind me that not everything is bad and I NEED that positivity in life

12. I like that I generally am quite optimistic; it keeps me afloat when everything is going to hell. Which it does. Regularly. 🤦

13. I like that I forgive. Life is difficult, man! There's a lot of hurt around and dealing with it is very sucky and difficult. But when you do, it's freeing, and I like that I work on it and forgive people, even if that doesn't mean we talk, I just deal with the emotional baggage.

14. Big one. I like my history. I think everyone is made by their experiences, good or bad, and there have been some awful things for me personally in my history, but I wouldn't change them. Through the hurt, through the experience, I have more knowledge, more awareness, more passion. I'm less naive and I appreciate things so much more. So I like my history, where I came from and what I've been through. Acceptance is life changing my peeps!

15. Finally, I like that I'm open about this stuff 😅 or about anything really lol. My name, April, yes, my real name, actually means open and I think it nicely reflects both that people open up to me, for which I'm eternally grateful as I LOVE helping people, and I am open about myself and my experiences. I think it helps people, seeing someone who isn't afraid to share, to talk about their emotions, and encourage them in theirs. Particularly in the UK we're all a bit emotionally reserved and I find it refreshing to be a bit more real and honest.

BONUS because I just thought about it and I want to share lol, see what I mean about being open. I love that I'm confident enough to dance/sing in the street/shop/wherever to my music that NO ONE ELSE can hear 😅 Literally walked into Sainsbury's the other day bopping along to "Walking Back to Happiness" and I got so many looks and didn't give a damn. I love that about myself.
