attention spans dont real lmao. nothing about the condition or support needs of yr adhd can be measured by measuring yr attention span because the nature of adhd is that attention span is incredibly variable. this is bc adhd is characterized by dopamine seeking behavior and not just a timer until we get bored and go on our phones
not to drop some random peach lore but this whole thing reminded me of around 6 years ago when a streamer dude i was a huge fan of turned out to be a Very Bad Guy. as an additional detail just a few weeks before everything came out i participated in a fanzine for him, which he, as well as his streamer "friend" group, received physical copies of, as well as a digital copy. he then used my artwork as his twitter profile picture (without consent lol) and the entire time that we found out he's a horrible person he had my art as his pfp, so now whenever that whole situation resurfaces i get to see my art attached to it
which is just an extremely long winded way of saying that it's astonishing how people with any amount of fame are in fact capable of absolutely heinous acts, and we have no idea who they actually are. it's their job description to have a persona that's easy to love, and easy to form a connection with based on very vague information. of course there's nothing wrong with supporting someone unless there's a reason not to, but i think it's always a good idea to be cautious.
there's such a power imbalance between fans and creators, whether it's an artist, a streamer, a blogger even, whatever, unless you personally know that person, you don't actually know them. sometimes even knowing someone means absolutely nothing, and honestly one of my first coherent thoughts was "who knew about this and said nothing?" sure, they're deleting posts with taeil and whatnot, which they absolutely should, but after something like this it's so hard to find a reason to quote unquote trust any of the other members.
anyway, if there's anyone who follows me, or just sees this in passing without following me, and still supports taeil or tries to defend him - first of all what the fuck is wrong with you. but also do both of us a favour and block me, because i don't tolerate people who have no fucking moral backbone and don't stand with victims.
that's all, everyone else... i hope we're having a decent day, take care of your friends and your family
im convinced that people who actually want to live in cities and dont see the environmental and emotional trauma their inflicting on themselves by enabling those places to continue to grow have just the most severe brain damage
Tumblr talking about making its site the same algorithmic slop pile as every other social media bc the users migrating here are too soft brained to curate their own feeds
i have a tendency to reblog posts about promoting one's own art and/or the importance of reblogging art, onto my art blog, as a sort of "wink wink nudge nudge i do have followers on this blog don't i" kind of thing
but whenever i do that, it feels as if people pay more attention to that than to my art
i know that's not literally true, i'm sure the note count does not actually rival or surpass a new art post, it only feels like a note spike because that blog posts so infrequently and therefore its activity is usually flat line, and reblogging the post made there Be Something There For People To Interact with
i guess it irks me anyway because i reblog it with the intent of "hey, look at the message of this post and where it is right now, mind giving my blog a scroll and maybe hitting a couple of green buttons" but it doesnt really work that way because people just see it in their dash. i constantly be reblogging shit with little if any awareness of which person i follow that i'm getting it from.
i just wish there was a way to be like, "hey, please give my art some attention, i work hard on this shit and it feels like there's at most about a classroom's worth--if that!--of people who care enough to show it to folks" without literally just being the annoying pushy attention-seeking bitch on the dashboard that's like "just fucking reblog my shit"
