#brought to you by me buying jeans today #they are said to be ankle length #spoiler: NOT ON ME #they go midway to my heel #if i tuck them in slightly they are great #but the point is #i am 158/159 cm #in feet i think that's either 5'2 or 5'3 #THERE ARE PLENTY PEOPLE SHORTER THAN ME #if i can't buy jeans because they are long enough to cover my entire foot and a few cm of floor as well #what the fuck are people even shorter than me buying #a year ago i bought these loose summer pants that were said to be in length somewhere under the knee #THEY GO TO MY ANKLES (they are great pants btw. the only pair of loose pants i own because all the other ones in stores are too f long)#i know getting clothes tailored is an option #but i am really not gonna do that with everything i am buying?#especially jeans #since i never know how long they are gonna last #my thighs are thicker and touch each other so they have a tendency to tear in between my legs #sometimes they last years (current record 5 years)#and sometimes they last 3 months #i never know until i wear them more often #and i am not gonna get my clothes tailored every 3 months #i am on the skinny side so idk what the plus-size clothes situation is like but according to all evidence: absolutely horrible #anyway #brought to you by me bcs i dont shop online often and prefer stores so i can try things on first without having to return them after buying #also reminder that i DID buy nice jeans today. its just that i hardly ever find some #ohv and obv tall people also have it bad™ i am sorry for your naked ankles in winter weather #ema rambles #possibly to delete

so does anyone have any info on the dao official guide collector's edition with the whole extra 70 pages of lore? because there are occasional references to it on the wiki with some lore that isnt anywhere else and i cant Not Know Things yknow..

once again thinking about MDZS' flashback placement, and how we get to see wei wuxian's sadness and regret over how he treated lwj during sunshot before we actually see their first bad fight in the yiling courier station

like, sure we are told even by wwx himself that hgj and the yllz had a feud, but the only "feud" we've seen early on is their silly teenage rivalry, and before we get to the point where their relationship is strained, we already receive bits of pieces of information that point out to lwj being worried about him, lwj trying to reach out and being denied, and finally wei wuxian's lament over what he was already beginning to understand as a misunderstanding

and we haven't even seen that fight yet

(these are just some examples i could think from the top of my head, but there are def more. what i basically mean to say is that i think it matters that we see these right before the xuanwu cave, lotus pier destruction and wwx's return flashbacks)

#interestengly we also learn that wwx thinks the yllz is an arrogant prick before we properly meet the yllz in that courier station haha #this is why i dont buy mdzs as enemies to lovers tbh. by the time we meet sunshot wangxian #present time wangxian are already flirting and wwx is even catching on to his own feelings #i think maybe because the donghua changed the flashback order to make for a more compelling season 1 #(which it did amen)#and the season finaly SLAPS and it HURTS bc it ends in that big wangxian fight #but in the novel we don't see that fight until after the events of carp tower #you're never led to believe that wangxian ever disliked each other except in the very beginning #and even then that gets debunked really fast #man. the thing is that i totally understand why adaptations changed the flashback order #the donghua was releases seasonaly. which means they need strong hooks at the end of each season #which is why they pushed the teenage flashback and wwx's return to season 1 #cql aired weekly both online and on television for the general public #so they had to go with a straightforward once and for all flashback #cause otherwise things would get way too confusing in case you missed an ep #like. changes had to be made for the sake of the media #but mdzs rly was meant to be experienced through wwx's messed up and broken little memory pieces 🥺💕#modao #lace speaks

people always ask me if im going to do something with my art money-wise and it's like... not every hobby artist is destined to make money off it.

it's a huge task to get noticed online, let alone make money. it's like having another job. you have to promote and push yourself and your image. it's like running a business. and there is no way in hell i'm ever going to do that. im tired enough from working full time already. and even when i take time off... i still dont feel like i have enough time to sit down, relax, and work on my art.

and sometimes... people just want to do art as a hobby. not everyone wants to make money off it. and that's okay.

#id rather not have one of the few hobbies i really enjoy turn into something i hate #i already struggle with my art mentally... like thinking im not good enough some days #dont wanna make it even worse trying to make it a job #delete later #also you kinda have to network and have artist friends if you wanna make it big #i dont have artist friends let alone... any friends to help me with my art #and having a following helps... and if people share #and if people are interested in buying your art #i dont even know how to do commissions. i dont know how that stuff works lol im Dumb.#in the decade ive spent posting art online ive only ever had one person ask if i take comms... i dont sadly. probably will never #and that's not a bad thing #but some people make out like it is. like no maybe i dont want to?

What if they didn't put ads every 3 posts. Three posts between ads, literally. Not even counting the ad for Tumblr Live.

Also what if tumblr didn't know what city Im in. I do not want my location tracked or stored anywhere unless I give explicit ongoing permission, like with my GPS app that I allow to track me only when the app is open, and then it deletes the data (allegedly) when I stop giving permission.

#ugh i do SO much to try to keep my location private. i use an android with all the tracking things Off (except for my weather app #which is a highly specific app that does NOTHING except provide weather; and i have the location turned Off so it doesnt even know where i #live). my tumblr email is not connected to any real life stuff because i made it when i was very closeted and made a new email and password #for it and never linked them to anything else. i have bare minimum apps. i use firefox and duckduckgo.#for shits sake i use a small barely-known map app because any Map App that has had large success under capitalism is inevitably going to #start selling private info or working with a cheap security system designed to allow quiet data leaks.#i guess i use gmail and gphotos but my phone doesnt HAVE a native Photo App. i have to use one i download and im too damn skittish to try #i guess i did get netflix recently....sigh.... i figured they WERENT tracking me because they email me EVERY TIME I USE NETFLIX to alert me #that OHHHH A NEW DEVICE IS USING NETFLIX AAAAA WHAT IF ITS AGAINST NETFLIX POLICY OH NOOOO. so i figured they didnt have a way to ID me.#UGH. CAN I PLEASE EXIST WITHOUT BEING MONITORED FOR FIVE SECONDS. can i please access Social Media which is a shitty substitute for actual #human connection but its the best i have--without someone noting my location and then trying to sell me things??? can i please watch film???#i cant go to a theater because my region does NOT believe in covid and not even medical staff attending Very Ill Patients wear masks anymore #stupid fucking homophobic transphobic anti-vax society has made it too dangerous for me to access most Not-Online forms of enrichment. and i #cant even use the Internet (a magnificent ASTONISHING human creation) without being tracked and advertised to.#ugh..#humanity is just so cool and brave and kind and amazing and yet we have taxes and advertisment IDs and traffic and medicine shortages.#its not like the ads even work. even when it shows me stuff i DO want. i cant fucking afford things. i already have spent too much money on #things that i dont need like Good Food and Entertainment and Juice. ugh....okay i do need food and liquids....Good food even. my body cant #survive on College Foods like it could in the past. And i might literally die if i dont buy juice...#and i guess its really really really heartwarming to have good entertainment to take breaks from all the stress.... its not like i havent l #..... like im so frugal. thank god my partners encourage me to buy myself things. i have been so much healthier since giving in and buying #Non-Water drinks instead of just Chronically Drinking Less Than A Bottle Of Water A Day. my partners are so good and sweet 😓 i shouldnt be #upset with myself for letting them convince me to take care of myself. that isnt fair to them or me so i will stop doing that now.#my faith in humanity is mostly just knowing that my partners exist. theyre so sweet. if people like them exist--then i have faith in humanty #no pressure lol. they are both so good and perfect regardless of how much energy they have to spare for Being Good. they are just inherently #very dear and good to me and for me. but just because i have faith in humanity doesnt mean im gonna stop complaining the whole time!!!!!! i #will whine about the bad stuff forever!!!! and BITE IT if i ever get the chance. but i will complain until the bothersome things go away.#if i complain my whole life with no results then...! so be it. i will whine and it will be art somehow.#sorenhoots

#t shirts bought online are generally good for my sensory issues. so that's my preferred clothing #but it's so hard?? to find shirts with good designs??#like ok. there are good ones #but imo here's what makes a good shirt design: simple. not an injoke/reference #literally what i want is just like. a shirt with the game logo on it #SO hard to find those for some reason #the purpose of the tshirt is 1. comfy and 2. signal to other people that i like the thing #without being weird to people who dont know the thing #just the logo or a symbol or object from the thing are excellent #complex artworks are good sometimes but then i have to also like the art style and stuff #this is why the homestuck aspect hoodies were so good #its Flat Colour With Neat Symbol #i also need to buy a hoodie bc my space hoodie ive been wearing since like 2012 is now worn out enough i shouldnt wear it in public anymore #:'(#ive tried buying from like redbubble and threadless but the designs wear off really fast
