I’m no longer active for various reasons, but I understand how difficult it is to both write good fic and run a blog consistently. 

So while I can appreciate @chenfordfanficquotes' labor of love, I’m not sure that interpreting anon’s comment in bad faith as “blaming people for spreading love” is promoting the desired “space for everyone.” And everyone else dogpiling on anon’s respectful observation is proving anon’s point exactly.  

It feels unfair for an account to be defensive towards someone pointing out an understandable bias respectfully when, from my cursory review, there’s only been one call for submissions thus far and most of the ideas are admittedly self-generated. That’s how a bubble is created, accidentally or not. But I’m giving everyone involved the benefit of the doubt. 

Constructive criticism might not always be positive in tone, but it’s never a personal knock. After all, how else can you see what you can’t see, and hopefully do better next time, if you never receive feedback?

The quote posts don’t say what the project is about at a quick glance. As an easy fix, it would be nice to see a call for submissions right under the last line in italics. Something similar to, “Help us feature more of your fave fics by submitting quotes here (link to your box)!” would suffice. Hitting shuffle in the queue might boost variety, too. (Diversity is a different topic.)

And for anon or any of our new friends checking in, I’m sorry that you’re noticing this early in your fandom experience. Keep posting your observations and add a call to action at the end to make it easier for others who share your opinion to keep the conversation going. You’d be surprised by what happens when you take that leap and/or reach out to others on your own.

may i ask what exactly is the premises ? :O

so the Lights Out au is essentially: the Welcome Home Puppet Show was shut down prematurely, and without any warning to the puppets. the employees turn off the studio lights when they leave for the last time, completely abandoning the building and the sapient puppets inside. the building is locked and boarded up to ensure that nothing gets out.

the lights turn off halfway through the neighbors' "day", and everyone - except Wally - goes to sleep, assuming the day got away from them & its just time for bed. the lights never come back on, the neighbors don't wake up, and problems start to arise from the lack of light. Wally and Home are left to deal with all of this alone.

(and Eddie is in the water cause... well. he's just in there! fr tho it's just a running joke for the au <3)

why i’ve been inactive!!!

hi gorp nation haiii um. this is the first time in a LOOONG time i’ve ran a tumblr blog that’s gotten as big as this one and had so many lovely followers who support my work in all ways!! i never expected this blog to get so popular...!!!

life has been VERY busy for me (prom, school, personal matters) yap yap blah blah. all that stuff. that being said i wasn’t able to check this account much or really play regretevator which means... uhhh womp womp my interest in the game declined. that’s why i made the previous poll about expanding the fandoms i write for, i don’t really like writing for regretevator that much

i don’t wanna just abandon you all because you deserve better than that. ur support means so much to me even if it’s just a dumb roblox writing blog i care about all of you even those who just lurk. so?

i’m gonna make a new writing blog open to way more fandoms INCLUDING regretevator. i think allowing myself to write for different fandoms will save me from more burnout lol. i haven’t made the blog yet but i’ll get everything ready soon.

i won’t be deleting this account- y’all can still enjoy my past works! but i won’t be using it anymore. i love gorp nation but this is the best action i can take for the sake of this blog and my mental health.

hihi! I've become a huge fan of weeping rosemary, and would like to ask when you're releasing the full game! Aside from that, the game is beautiful and so interesting to me. It reminds me of a few other little rpgmaker games I've played, and it feels really polished and complete! Even if it's just a demo! The ending gave me chills, and I can't wait to find out more! I'll do my best to try supporting your project in the future when I have the financing to do so :)

I'm so happy that you feel that way about Weeping Rosemary, to see it reminds you of others is such an honor, since the demo was my first time making a game!

As for the release date of the full game!! I am still unsure, but I am going to estimate that it will probably be sometime next year!

Because the demo was very rushed, and now that I'm graduated from uni, I want to take this chance to really flesh out and give the game the detail I feel it deserves, so if life doesn't throw out any curveballs - I would ideally like for the game to be released in May, as a way to celebrate the demo, but it all depends on what happens, since I am working on this game by myself!

Until then, I will try and keep everyone updated on progress & everything! Thank you so much!!

hello 💓 omg i haven't blocked anyone in a while i think, like the only people i block on here are minors, weirdos like that one who plagiarised me or the other who copy pasted my about me, dni/rules etc word for word which creeped me the f out💀, writers who write very dark content (like for example when it triggers me) and people who spam the tags with those one sentence + 12 characters + 5 different fandoms thingies because in my eyes, that's not writing and for someone who already struggles reading on tumblr since i'm not used to it, seeing those posts only makes me stay on ao3 when it comes to reading fics 💀💞

You can ignore this if it's weird and i really apologize if it's overstepping, I just wanted to say. That when you meet someone you really click with and fall deeply in love with they will open up about their past to you and as you learn about their past you will be able to see all the ways in which their past selves are alive in them and connect their story to their current mannerisms... Because we don't truly fully grow out of who we were, we just grow around them and they shape our current selves as we grow (hopefully) for the better... This is just to say. Don't write off love as incomplete or imperfect due to meeting in adulthood because everyone is like a russian nesting doll and when you really love each other you get to reach the tiny central one...! I sound crazy. Anyway I hope you have a pleasant day/night feel free to ignore if this is weird

I have a question about darkness exists to make light truly count. How come the fanfic I locked to ao3 users only?

ah yeah, that was a recent change because there was evidence that popular AI bots were scanning writing share sites like A03 in order to get better at fake writing. i don’t want my writing, that i spend a lot of time and energy on, to be used by AI to spit out automated responses to prompts. so i locked all my A03 fics to be user only (hopefully preventing any bots from having access, though i’m sure that’s not 100% foolproof).

i’m not sure what the current situation is, i’ve heard the A03 legal team was aware of the problem and working on a solution but until i know for sure, i’d rather be safe than sorry. i do apologize for the inconvenience, i’m not happy about it either (traffic and comments on my A03 took a sharp dive as expected) but it’s gonna stay that way until i know for sure my writing won’t be stolen by AI. god help us if AI starts farming from tumblr (luckily our reputation isn’t that of a writing site).
