1. I have a hideous cough that sounds like a walrus barking - too much time outdoors with ozone and pollen I guess. I also wonder if the Claratin I’ve been taking daily to help with long Covid histamine storm symptoms for the last year might no longer be working for me, so I’mma try Allegra next. Guess I should also take a Covid test, though. Oh, shit, that’s right. The book club host said she tested positive. Motherfucker. 

2. I just brain farted LOUDLY. Like to four different people via text. I opened my email and saw an Indeed notification for a job in Vermont that was posted yesterday. I immediately decided it was the job I interviewed for and freaked the fuck out. It’s so very much NOT the job I interviewed for, so calm your tits, Kelly, JFC. 

3. Shit. I have Covid, don’t I? Goddammit. 

4. My writing class - the last night of a 6-week series - starts in 20 minutes and I just don’t know if I can manage it. I’m exhausted, but I don’t want to miss it. I’ve generated so much writing in this series that I am deeply proud of and am finally beginning to see the shape of my book emerge from the fog of words I’ve been slapping on pages for the past few years.

theres a post i want to word right, but its hard, because its about how there are people who look up and respect me as an artist or friend and im just here depressed and filled with alchohol like "yeah you can do better"

Its more conplicated than that, but for instance, one main thing is that I am pushing my own style and my own direction for my work(which is i think the strongest its ever been) and then but at the same time pushing myself further away from a portfolio which companies are actually looking for- they oft want very specific styles and colour and desuturated blues and grays with thick black lines are never what they are looking for.

And so I am just kind of stuck.... here, and I just dont know what to do besides just keep on going.

So, the scene in Clone Wars where Rex is trying to keep Obi Wan from entering the barracks while Anakin called Padma--

I feel like the conversation went more like: Rex: Uhm, General Skywalker really doesn't want to be disturbed.

Obi-Wan: He can rest later, this is important.

And Obi-Wan tries to push past Rex, he panics and blurts out "HE'S WANKING OFF, SIR." Anakin emerges a couple of minutes later, both Rex and Obi-Wan looking very uncomfortable.

you know there’s something incredibly intriguing to me about the blurred line between normal objects and robotic objects in II.

See, the robots like Meeple are typically treated very differently from the normal objects, from what i’ve extrapolated anyway. They’re property of their owners, and that’s treated like it’s perfectly normal in the II universe. Hell, if anything, an AI without an owner would probably draw more eyes.

But other than that they’re built rather than born, what physical differences differentiate the organic from the inorganic? We’ve seen other electronic objects that are also organic and, technically, the MePhone’s and other AIs are still objects. In the original style of the show, there’s barely even any visual difference in limb design and such.

And that is what I find interesting.

In most stories with robots, there is a clear “otherness” to them, physically and socially. But, because they’re not human, and their species is so loose with physicality, this makes that clear line incredibly blurred.
