This one's kinda long I'm just gonna stick a read-more on all of it.

Home (Pt. 1 & 2): This sounds like the intersection between Cage The Elephant, Vundabar, and mom jeans., y'know? Like if you had all three of those bands on a Venn Diagram you'd have Current Joys in the center between them all.

Radiator Hospital comes to mind. One of their slower songs from their newest.

Home (Pt. 3): Y'know, one of these days, artists reversing their instruments isn't going to create a spacy, surrealist feeling that telegraphs something being wrong. But that day is not today and I am still a slut for it. I do think that this one is a bit less interesting than (Pt. 1 & 2), though. Even despite the reversed guitar, there's just not enough variation for this to hold up on its own, to me. But that might also be trying to convey something artsy. I'm not sure. It certainly seems artsy.

I have no idea what to recommend so, sorry, nothing obscure. I hope sad and artsy is enough.

There's a language I don't recognize in the comments which is making it hard to tell (and also making me insecure because I'm usually really good with linguistics). Have A Nice Day: Oo! It's Japanese! And...it sounds incredibly corporate. This is actually horrifically dystopian, and I don't think they're unaware of that. I usually don't like music videos but I think if you made me listen to this without the music video I'd miss the point of the song. A mob of men in dress clothes moving robotically and smiling in a disturbing and disingenuous way while normal people on the streets watch them in confusion and fear. Surely that's intentional. The lyrics are as meaninglessly chipper as their faces because the corporate style doesn't allow for anything sad. Everyone should be happy. Aren't you happy? Isn't life fun? This is very normal. Smile! Be happy. :)

They're pretty good, I really like this one song of theirs called "No One Likes The Opening Band". You've probably never heard of it, though. You should check it out.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this song before, but Mx. Sinister by I Don't How But They Found Me has some big yandere vibes. This song had been leaked before with some non-studio versions, but only recently got an official release and official lyric video. It's a pretty direct creepy song from the perspective of an obsessive stalker.

Anyways, I absolutely love IDKHBTFM. I love most of their songs especially Leave me alone, Sugar Pills, Mad IQ, Into the Gallows and Choke. So thank you first of all for this ask.

I actually think I vaguely remember thing song name being called Mr. Sinister but I suppose the name was changed to make it more gender neutral, which is cool in its own right since the song itself is rather gender neutral as well.

Anyways the song is really good and fits the theme of being sinister and stalker like. This band isn’t a stranger to scarier songs like the aforementioned Into the Gallows and Choke but I feel like it lacks a bit of the more whimsical and playful tones those two have, not to say that it’s not playful or whimsical, it just slides more to the horror aspect, which is still really good. I’ll probably be listening to this song a lot hehe.

idkhbtfm - a 2 man band consisting of dallon weekes (of panic at the disco fame) and ryan seaman (of falling in reverse fame) the bands concept is of  "...a band out of time. One who faded away into obscurity after struggling to find success in the late 70's and early 80's." the closest comparison i have to the sound of dodie’s music is in the middle 

paramore - a 3 membered “genre neutral” band consisting of hayley williams, taylor york and zac farro their discography ranges from true ‘07 pop punk with arguably one of the greatest songs ever written misery business, to more mainstream pop stuff with still into you and honestly self titled as a whole to what i would call depression funk with after laughter, i saw them live this year and cried. dodie music comparison: would you be so kind (i guess?? also in the middle)

day6 - a 5 membered actual band under jype consisting of jae (guitar), sungjin (also guitar), young k (bass), wonpil (piano), and dowoon (drums) they’re like honestly legends they’ve never made a bad song ever like they’re physically incapable of it, also their fanclub is called myday. they’ve made both heavier rock stuff like i wait and pre much all their japanese releases and softer more acoustic stuff like hi hello and you were beautiful, their most recent comeback had a retro 80s vibe if your into that, also it should be known i cry almost every time i listen to day6. dodie music comparison: absolutely smitten

I don't think anyone is going to follow me, but I'm still going to post a bit.

I'll probably be really inconsistent with posting, but this will be an account for me to post about stuff that's on my mind.

I've been pretty motivated recently to lose weight and be skinny. I've tried so many times. Some times have been successful, and other times I've completely failed. I'm tired of hating myself, and I feel like the only way I can like myself is if I'm skinny.

WARNING!! I don't recommend doing what I do. I know it's not healthy, but I don't care anymore. I'm so sick of this self hatred.

I am 16 years old and a junior in high school (11th grade). I'm around 5'6 -5'7, and I'm not sure how much I weigh because my mom hides the scale and I can't use it when she's home because it makes noise when you turn it on. But the last time I checked, I was 133lbs, which is also my highest weight. My lowest was 122lbs. I noticed that I lost weight because the size of my stomach drastically went down. I'm still fat, obviously, but I know that I've lost weight.

Some other stuff about me: I play piano, drums, soprano and baritone ukulele, bass, and I used to play the trumpet in elementary and middle school. I am a single, pansexual girl, and I am very passionate about equal rights and LGTBQ+ rights etc. I love music, and some of my favorite bands/artists are Twenty One Pilots, Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, IDKHBTFM, Cavetown, Chloe Moriondo, John Lennon, The Beatles, and Queen. I like photography (my profile picture is one that I took) and art, I am obsessed with dogs, and I often tear up when I see one. I have two dogs, and Irish Doodle named Eleanor Rigby, after the Beatles song, a Havanese named Ebony, and a cat named Bellini. Some of my favorite shows are Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers, and my guilty pleasure shows are interior decorating shows lol. When I grow up, I want to either be a photographer, or a singer/songwriter or drummer for my own band. (probably a crazy dream since I have terrible stage fright and general anxiety lol) I've struggled with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember, I've had a couple of suicide attempts in the past, and still currently struggle with self harm. In middle school, I developed some OCD habits, like obsessive counting, and that's also when my eating disorder habits started.

If anyone does decide to follow me, you can message me if you need someone to talk to. Warning, I'm not the best at giving advice, but I'm a good listener. If you have any recommendations for what I should post, don't be afraid to ask! And I could always use some more friends, so if you want to talk, you can!

Boys - Charli XCX

this song just sticks out in my mind as a true bop. so simple, yet so ingenious. charli does this thing where she’ll do a whole weird, off the charts project and then come back with a solid bop to solidify her standings in the music industry. this song is it. plus, the music video really established this song as a must have on this list.

Feels - Calvin Harris

This was the feel good song of 2017 for me. The lyrics are so cute (“when I say I miss you, say it back, parakeet”), sand Katy Perry’s breathy vocals tie everything together in the weirdest way. None of these artists should be able to collaborate with each other, but they did, and it was amazing.

Save As Draft - Katy Perry

Subtweeting aside, this is the best song of Witness. This ballad just gives me all the emotions that a good Katy Perry song should. On par with Thinking of You, Not Like the Movies, Unconditionally, etc, Save As Draft just hits you so hard. I’ve found myself spitting out these lyrics like a mantra since the song came out. “Take a deep breath, and save as draft”.

Let Em Talk - Kesha

Out of all the songs on Rainbow, this one goes the hardest. It starts off so strong, and the chorus is just so cute. You shake that ass, Kesha! Plus, everyone knows that I’m a sucker for a good rock-infused pop song, reminiscent of old Katy Perry or mid-career Fall Out Boy. This song is just that, but 2017’s wondrous version of it.

The Cure - Lady Gaga

No one really expected this song from Gaga, who’s known for her powerhouse vocals. This song is breathy, soft, and beautiful. Yet, I love it. Only Gaga can do Bieber’s trap-pop sound better than Bieber.

Perfect Places - Lorde

“I’m 19 and I’m on fire” is the most relatable lyric of 2017. I can see myself driving down the highway at night crying and blaring this song.

Bad Liar - Selena Gomez

I’m a slut for a simple baseline and visual lyrics. This song is simple, but just hits that sweet spot for me where I want to keep listening to it.

Told You So - Paramore

Paramore keeps coming back into my life. I feel like every part of my life, they know exactly what I want to listen to and make the best they can out of it. I love their upbeat yet depressing style, and the aesthetic to match this album is amazing. Of all the songs, Told You So stands out for it’s deep vocal edits in the verses and it’s middle 8.

Disconnect - Clean Bandit

This song debuted at Coachella in 2015, and Marina and the Diamonds fans (like me) were extremely concerned that it would never come out. And it did. And I’m glad. The lyrics are so strange for 2017. Someone actually talking about how we use technology too much? Contrast this song with Marina’s “I Am Not A Robot”.

Call Me Mother - RuPaul

This song just bops. Plain and simple. RuPaul releases too much music, but I’m glad this song was put out into the world.

That’s So Us - Allie X

I have a soft spot for Allie X. Her visuals, her creativity. The lyrics to this song are so overly simple, and that’s what makes it amazing. I think the nod to 2009 really does it for me, as I mentioned before that I’m a sucker for anything from that era of music (Britney, Katy, Black Eyed Peas… that was my shit in 5th grade). I just love this song. Allie X is the savior of pop music that everybody needs to go and accept NOW.

Underdog - Banks

Banks is so underrated. I love this song. The heavy synths. The barking. Everything.

Living Out Loud - Brooke Candy and Sia

Brooke Candy has been put under the category of novelty artist too many times, for such songs as “Don’t Touch My Hair Hoe” and “Opulence”, but she comes back with these beautiful songs every once in a while. I can’t wait to hear a full LP from her soon.

Hold Me Tight or Don’t - Fall Out Boy

Can we just accept Fall Out Boy as pure pop now? This song sounds like something of Katy Perry’s PRISM, and I love it. I want it to play in the club, and I wanna dance to it. So lets forget that Sugar We’re Going Down ever existed, and lets forget that their drummer doubles in a metal band, and lets let Fall Out Boy be pop, so we can all bop to this song together.

Get Free - Lana Del Rey

This song is so different for Lana Del Rey, and I love it. I wish she’d release more music like this, and Florida Kilos. She sounds good when she’s happy.

anxiety - blackbear

Blackbear is a weird artist, but I love him. This song is so good, and it addresses the real life mental issues of Musto. It just goes off.

Modern Day Cain - IDKHBTFM

I’m very sad that Dallon Weekes left P!ATD, but this song is so good and I hope he creates more stuff like it. The song is just wild. It’s the Talking Heads on crack.

Sweat - All American Rejects

another music video based song. I don’t think anyone really expected all american rejects to ever come back, but they did, and they came back strong. This song is sexy, sultry, and just an overall amazing listen. Plus, seeing their lead singer in drag is quite the highlight of 2017.

Fight Club - Lights

In my opinion, Lights is one of the most underrated artists of her generation. Often categorized with the likes of bands like All Time Low and Pierce the Veil, she’s swept under the mat. Skin & Earth is her 4th studio album, and she still isn’t getting the attention she deserves. Fight Club is just an upbeat, amazing song with poignant lyricism.

The Hamptons - Transviolet

Transviolet always comes up with these crazy lyrical ideas that are so solid. I love this song and everything about it.

The song is very much ‘I can do what I want, when I want’ type of vibes but there is a bit of cynicism applied to it. She does what she wants, she’s taking over the world (or, at least, charming/manipulating the masses of Hell but, I mean, same thing), she’s corrupting people, stealing their s/o’s (ik the song specifies girls but she goes both ways we know this), breaking hearts and winning more over but then the song goes:

‘Now we're so young But we're probably gonna die It's so fun We're so good at selling lies We look so good And we never even try Get your money from a trust fund Do it all the time’

LIKE out of fucking nowhere it’s like, ‘look we’re living high and we’re young and beautiful but we’re also bound to crash and burn living like this and it might not even be worth it because it’s all a bunch of lies anyways’ and then IMMEDIATELY goes back to being hype and carefree and self-aggrandizing! Is there ANYTHING more Hellsa than that? I think not! It sells this lifestyle that’s very free and fun and shit but still very much a mess, just a really beautiful and exciting one that at least falls apart in a glamorous way and there’s no doubt that that’s just... her, y’know?
