hi heidi!! same question to you: any scenes that ended up getting changed/cut out that you wanted to see in the final cut?

Almost everything in our show gets changed even just a little bit before it gets shipped to animation, and I'd have to say that overall, I feel that most of the changes are for the better-- even stuff I was a little sad to see changed at the time.

Like initially I was on team 'Let Darius be REALLY moody but maybe just change that goofy 'it's what you all do' line!' in episode 1 but after struggling to make that work and seeing how the reworked first episode turned out/was received, I came around.

Beyond that, a lot of the cut or edited scenes from season 1 were simply things that multiple people already felt weren't the greatest for pacing/didn't quite work for the story or the characters. Like sometimes you get handed a scene and as you're working on it you go 'actually I hope this part gets changed' or 'I like this idea but it's hard to make it fit here.' Stuff is constantly being refined by everyone as it goes down the pipeline. Even calling the collection of things we cut 'deleted scenes' isn't quite what most of them are-- most of them are just different versions of the same scenes.

But let's see... I miss the version of episode 1 where Darius originally let all his voicemail messages play, because one of them was from Mateo! Presumably he was trying to get in contact with Darius to give him Brooklynn's phone, and I always thought would have been a great easter egg for people watching the show over. But having Darius just delete everything without listening was seen as a better character choice by Aaron-- and it IS funnier/says more about him.

(There is actually a different easter egg that was ADDED by Z and Aaron into the first couple of minutes of the show which I don't think I've seen anyone catch yet. It's something else that only clicks if you've watched the show already, but it is also very easy to miss if it's not pointed out haha).

Probably the LARGEST thing I miss that was cut/changed from Season 1 is this moment at the end of episode 10 that @riannimation originally boarded for the final standoff with the Handler-- she was originally supposed to take off on ALL FOURS like 'a creepy cheetah' and she did this crazy horse girl jump over the fence surrounding the warehouse after the raptors??

It was a BONKERS scene and Rianna really killed it, but I think there was just a lot of trepidation over whether it turn out too silly in the final animation, so it was changed. Rip.

But uh... Yeah! Ask me again when Season 2 comes out ehe.

Yuri Is My Job!

Premiering on Crunchyroll on April 6th.

Yuri is My Job! is based on a yuri manga of the same name. It follows high schooler Hime, who cares deeply about her image as sweet and helpful, even though she’s actually selfish. She accidentally injures the manager of a cafe, and agrees to work there to make up for it. But this is no ordinary cafe, it’s like a cafe dinner theater where all the waitresses play characters from a fictional high school and act out skits for the patrons. Hime’s character is supposed to be in love with one of the other waitresses’ character, but she starts actually falling for the girl. Only problem is, behind the scenes the other waitress seems to hate her.

Yeah, that sounds kind of bonkers! I can already see the story now, Hime starting out playing a role, and eventually having to legitimately earn the love of Mitsuki.

Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story

Season 2 premiering on Crunchyroll on Friday, April 7th

Ah Birdie Wing. If you saw season one, you know just how delightful wacky this show is. It follows the stories of Eve, a golfer that plays in illegal underground golf matches for the mob, and Aoi, a golf prodigy and the new sensation of the golf world. Their lives crash into each other and the chemistry is overwhelming and immediate.

Technically Eve and Aoi aren’t canon as of the end of s1, but it’s hard to imagine that the show isn’t heading in that direction. It makes no effort to hide the fact that these two are into each other.

I’m so excited to see what season 2 has in store for these two. Birdie Wing is just a delightfully weird little show.

Princess Principal: Crown Handler Chapter 3

Premieres in theaters in Japan on Friday, April 7th

Alright, so this won’t be useful to a lot of people reading this, as this is only premiering in Japan this weekend. But I wanted to mention it because (a) it’ll come over to the US sometime this year, and (b) Princess Principal is awesome and I want to promote it when I can.

Princess Principal was a 12 episode series that aired in 2017, and Crown Handler is a six-part sequel OVA series.

In a nutshell, Princess Principal is a steampunk spy thriller set in an alternate universe European kingdom that has been divided by a wall, Berlin-style. It follows a team of spies, masquerading as high school girls, as they try to prevent the two sides from going to war.

I know, “why is this on a list of gay shit?” Well, because it is. Two of the main characters, Ange and Princess Charlotte, are big-time into each other and while the original series does the anime thing of “we’re only allowed to go so far with this”, the OG series has a lot of intimate scenes between the two and does end *SPOILERS* with the two of them sitting on the beach together while holding hands.

And perhaps Crown Handler, being made years later, can finally take their relationship farther.

RWBY Volume 9

Volume 9 episode 8 airing on Crunchyroll on Saturday, April 8th

RWBY has been ongoing, and the current volume has been airing since February, but there’ll be another episode this Saturday. Right now RWBY is in the middle of dealing with a lot of trauma, BUT, the bees are canon and dating so every episode of RWBY is now officially gay. So says me.

Mobile Suit Gundam: the Witch From Mercury

Season 2 premiering on Crunchyroll on Sunday, April 9th.

Affectionately called G-Witch, season 1 of this show was a revelation in the fall. It follows the story of Suletta Mercury, precious cinnamon roll and the most talented mobile suit pilot around, and Miorine Rembran, daughter of the president of the Benerit Group, a mega-corporation that has massive political power.

The show revolves around a school that’s mostly full of the children of powerful people. And then there’s Suletta, a nobody that just wants to be a normal girl and have a normal school life but through a series of events ends up in a mobile suit duel that she easily wins, earning her the title of Holder, which makes her Miroine’s groom.

At first, the two treat the arrangement as a business arrangement, both seeing practical value in this arranged engagement. But it’s obvious that Miorine is actually pretty into Suletta from the start, and we see Suletta slowly falling for Miorine too.

G-Witch is incredible. Part awesome mecha fights, part political intrigue, part romance between two useless girls who’d rather die that admit their actual feelings.

I am SO EXCITED for season 2!

LGBTQ media hasn’t had it great as of late, with a ton of frustrating cancellations and it almost feeling like Hollywood is going backwards in terms of its commitment to giving us space to tell our stories.

But animation, both in the US and in Japan, seems to be making great strides, being our light in the dark.

All five of these shows are airing episodes this week, and Crown Handler will be in theaters this week and on streaming/blu-ray later this year. RWBY has been airing for weeks and its been the gayest volume yet. the Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady just finished airing and was wonderfully sapphic. I’m In Love With the Villainess is scheduled to air sometimes this year. And just maybe we might get Arcane season 2 before the end of the year.

I’m excited for how sapphic and yuri animation is progressing, I hope it keeps going forward.

Holy mother of God I don't even know what happened to me when this episode ended. I think I ascended to heaven and back. This is going to be a long post filled with thoughts and feelings (and I have no one else to talk about this to) so buckle up!

Starting off with this first scene... not even 2 mins in and I was already tearing up. This entire conversation was so interesting to me because BOTH of them are fully aware of their feelings, yet neither one is willing to speak up. Ray is "happy" to be with Mew, and Sand is "happy" that Ray finally got who he wanted (supposedly🙁).

Major props to sand for standing his ground during this conversation even though you could see unshed tears in his eyes (go First!!!!🤞). You can feel the love he has for Ray simmering beneath but also the dejection that he feels towards seeing that Ray picked Mew.

This is not the face of someone who is happy with the decision they made. Khaotung really stepped up his acting in this scene because I swear I saw like 18 emotions go through him all at once (slay my king!!🤌). He has formed such a strong attachment to Sand and is now realizing what it means to have chosen someone else (and I don't think he feels too good about it).

THIS WHOLE SEQUENCE!!!!! Sand asking for Ray to let him go, and RAY LOOKING AT HIM LIKE THAT!!!! This had me seriously gagged to the core, I didn't even know what to do. Looking at it simply, they are both just sad. Sad at the fact that they know they can't be friends, but also won't admit their feelings, but it bothers them that they don't have each other😭. Seeing what unfolded afterwards with Yo and Plug was even a bigger eye opener for them because it was a direct parallel.

I think all of us got a little excited we we're going to get the "now that you've walked into my life..." scene, however, I actually really enjoyed this scene in between everything else that was happening because it shows Ray's dynamic with Sand during a regular time, right after showing his dynamic with Mew (pre-halloween). It gives us insight into the fact that despite Ray being with Mew, it still isn't enough for him. He is still wondering why Sand won't answer his messages, and still wants to spend time with him, even though they had that conversation at the bar and Sand asked to be let go. Ray can't/won't let go of Sand. *Bonus cute Ray pouty face*

What's funny to me is that Ray doesn't even realize what it means that he craves Sand's company. He has no problem verbalizing that being with Sand makes him happy (also in their bar conversation🧐) and isn't shy about asking to spend time with him. Yet, Sand still calls out the fact that Ray can spend time with Mew, but Ray doesn't even acknowledge it. Even using the excuse of Mew not being able to play instruments as a justification for seeking out Sand.

^^^^ I mean seriously look at that cute little face rn. I don't even blame Sand for folding like a wet tissue because I too would fold.

The entire SandRay Halloween party sequence was BONKERS. I must applaud FirstKhao because they are mopping the floor with the other couples as far as chemistry goes (no shade to the other couples!!! I'll touch on them in a separate post).

Finally we have Ray witnessing the consequences of his actions. Literally seeing him looming behind Sand and the other guy, pushing him away, questioning Sand about what he's doing, saying he wants to sleep with him, then kissing him to establish dominance over the other guy. CHEF'S KISS😮‍💨. Now, obviously anyone with eyes can tell this behavior is toxic, but I simply have not seen this possessive side of Ray with anyone, not even Mew. It was nice to see Sand getting a little bit of attention in that regard. Was it healthy? No. Does Sand deserve better? Yes. But was it hot as hell and real as fuck? 100%.

FIRST KANAPHAN THE MAN THAT YOU ARE😩

He looked good enough to eat in his costume (I'm sorry I had to say it or I was gonna scream lol). I don't blame Ray for seeing his (boy)friend flirting with someone else while looking like that😭. Anyways, Sand standing his ground ONCE AGAIN was so elite of him, he refuses to be number 2 and I am here for it.

Listen guys... Say what you want but Ray ate this little bit up lmao. I chose to take this as progress in a way because Ray is finally bringing up the feelings between the two, and Sand made himself clear that he will not settle for less than first *no pun intended*. I must also state that I found Ray's possessiveness funny lmao because he had literally JUST kissed Mew (love of his life or whatever🙄) and then goes and get's pissed at Sand for even looking at someone else. And also kisses him?? Did he really need to get rid of Mew's kiss that badly🤨??

Sand throwing literally any beef he had with Ray out the window and into the rubbish bin to help him made my heart ache a little. No matter what Ray does, Sand will always be his emergency staff, no complaints, no conditions, no questions asked. Going as far as to lie to a police officer and coming up with excuses to help him shows how far Sand is willing to go for Ray. I hope this is something the Ray takes note of and appreciates.

This whole part honestly was pretty hard to watch, especially with the police brutality that a lot of people face around the world. I think the show did a good job of showing what this can look like on a smaller scale, and calling attention to it.

It once again showed Sand's loyalty to Ray, trying to hold on to him when the cops grabbed him, and telling him to stay still. Putting myself in his shoes, idk if I could bare the visual of the person I love getting handled that way.

Overall, this may be my favorite episode of the entire series. and I will say that it finally felt like FirstKhao were getting the screen time they deserved.

I physically gasped when I saw the preview for next week's episode because we're getting communication, and uninterrupted SandRay road trip (yeehaw😎).

Most people won't think to be near it, especially with how intense the storms can get out there."

Y/N smiled sweetly. "It's not that he would harm you on purpose, but it's risky if he's too deep in his state."

"I see. In that case, please be careful. The storms are still rather intense, even in my era."

No one ever knew how the Queen of Hyrule did it. How she managed to tame such a wild king. It was luck, she said. He would say it was fate.

She made her way to the grove, nodding to the guards and constructs along the way. The guards at the gateway straightened upon seeing her. "Your Highness," They greeted.

"At ease. Has he been in here then?" she asked, staring into the trees.

"Yes, Your Majesty," the one on her left said. "We've been hearing strange howls from within. Should we–"

She smiled and shook her head. "No, it's alright. It's all part of the process," she assured them. Hylians barely understood the Zonai people, regarding them all as gods. She was once among them, she admitted to herself. Though she had learned they were beasts in mortal form quickly.

"The storm is coming in soon. You two should go ahead and take shelter in the guardhouse."

"Your Highness?" the one on her right asked, earning a sweet smile from the queen before she went into the woods. "Should we really leave her alone?" He asked his comrade worriedly.

"Have faith in our queen," He chuckled, leading him to the guard house. "She wouldn't have said it if she didn't have full confidence in her own safety."

Y/N smiled at their fading voices as she made her way into the woods. Once she was deep enough, she sat on a fallen tree and simply waited. She let the breeze of the humid air grace over her as she breathed in deeply the trees and rain that began to pitter down.

She was a sight to behold, as Rauru often told her. Queen Y/N looked at ease among the trees, finding herself breathing in the cooling air and letting the breeze brush aside her hair as the rain dampened her white dress.

Once, Y/N had joked to him that she looked like a virgin sacrifice sent to appease the gods. Rauru had looked to her that time with a feral grin and said, "You certainly weren't by the time I was done with you."

She scolded him for the crude jokes, but it felt correct all the same.

Here she was like a maiden being sent to the beast. Only she was always a willing sacrifice to tame him.

"I know you're there," she sang almost tauntingly into the trees.

She could sense the eyes on her. She could practically feel the heat of his gaze as he watched from the trees, taking in her scent behind her. She knew she was downwind.

"You know, I am nearing my own cycle. It'd be a shame if someone were to plunge his heir into my womb." This earned a snarling growl as she stood, adjusting her dress. "Though, only those worthy enough could do that."

With that taunt, she bolted through the trees. Her heart hammered excitedly as she heard him moving quickly behind her, catching up fast. She knew escape was never an option, especially when he was like this.

It was why she giggled when he suddenly pinned her to the ground. She didn't mind the dirt scratching against the side of her face as her husband rutted against her rear before shoving up her dress. He kept her in place, holding her down with his foot as he readjusted his face behind her.

A long lick up her folds made her moan lowly, biting her lip as the tongue worked her up even more than she already was. The rain began to come down hard as if attempting to cool their heated skin as he began to eat her out.

Thoughts on Space Babies and The Devil's Chord, in no particular order:

So we agree that the overarching storyline for this season is stories becoming real, yeah? Starts with invoking folklore at the end of the universe, is solidified with the Toymaker and his rules of play, used heavily in The Church on Ruby Road, and now children's fairytales and musicals? Fascinated to see where this is going!

Generally ridiculously camp and bonkers and you know what, I goddamn missed that. It had whimsy. It had space babies and musical battles! It was fun and ridiculous and just. Felt good, man.

And it also had far-future dystopias and reproductive horror and slow starvation and suffocation and refugees and a timeline of depression and nuclear winter simply to create the universe's biggest aeolian harp so, you know. Doctor Who is back, baby!

Space Babies

Okay the episode was pretty fun and, at times, sweet (they saved the monster!) but oy the CGI/voice acting for the babies was… not great XD;;

RTD detractors: "Ew, fart jokes with the Slitheen, so immature." RTD, writing an elaborate snot joke that ends with a colossal projectile shart: "Watch this :D"

Okay yes the projectile shart to get the space station moving is one thing, but, uh. How is it going to stop? XD;;

The nanny filter made me giggle each time.

I actually had to go back and check because I was squinting at the readout trying to work out what's weird and somehow failed a spot check and missed the fact that it had started snowing. Good observational skills, self. Anyway, the snow is definitely a Message. (Is it snow? Like I agree that it's connected with the day Ruby was born, but is what's falling in the church scene snow to begin with?)

Oooh, a Pantheon! Love a Pantheon. There's mention of the One Who Waits, speculation on whether 'the Oldest One' was there the day Ruby was born, we already have the Toymaker -> Maestro line, so maybe we'll be getting others? Also, the way Maestro phrased something earlier was fascinating too - "the Lord Temporal who sealed my father in salt". The Lord Temporal. There's been a lot of references to how the Doctor isn't just a Time Lord, maybe they're part of the Pantheon too, as the personification of time? Regeneration and Time Lord society all coming from this base primordial being?

Anyway I goddamn adore Maestro.

I wonder if we'll get Susan at the end of this season? (See: last link of this section!)

Semi-related but Ruby saying she was born in 2004 gave me a Crisis. Rose was 19 in 2005 and born the same year as me. Yeah okay I am good with that! (People hated it when it premiered. It made them feel anxious. Which is... kind of appropriate.)

I love ruining the life of my funky little Jedi oc.

Because really she should have gotten Qui Gon Jinn or someone Qui Gon Jinn adjacent as her Master. Because she is on exactly the same wave length of crazy as he is but in a completely different way.

But she didn’t, she got Mace Windu instead and it’s the funniest thing ever.

Because don’t be fooled, she may seem sweet and kind and she may look like she wouldn’t hurt a fly but really she’s bonkers. This is the same kids whose best friend in the whole world is Anakin Skywalker who shamelessly enables all her actions.

This is the kid who spent her youth sneaking into the restricted section of the Temple library to find books on the Sith. Not because she wanted to go over to the dark side or be evil, but because she firmly believed that if she could just understand what made the Sith tick then she could win them back to the light through the power of friendship. Once she gets a grip on there philosophy it’s over, anyone can be redeemed through the power of being nice.

But this does mean she needs to sneak aboard that Jedi Archeology expedition to the Sith ruins they just found because she’s 100% certain that if she just got a grip on Sith architecture better than her 12 step plan to defeating the sith through the power of hugs could be implemented.

She is also the single worst lightsaber dualist the Jedi Order had possibly ever seen. Through a combination of simply being bad at it and ‘but master I don’t want to hurt people’ her teachers have given up hope.

Which is why Yoda rubbing his hands together and cackling to himself is like: needs to lighten up Windu does, and needs to calm down the youngling does. Excellent plan I have!

Which is how we end up with world’s grumpiest Master and his sunshine but secretly crazy Padawan my beloved.

Mace in the worlds most exhausted tone for the 900th time: Padawan you do know that if you ever met a Sith they would try to kill you? And not feel any remorse because they’re Sith?!

Her beaming like a sun with the most honest and endearing big eyed innocent expression: Yes but that why we need the 12 step plan! Don’t you see Master, we can help them feel remorse and become better people through kindness and compassion! It may take time but it will be worth it in the end and really, isn’t that what being a Jedi is all about?

Mace: oh force.

Yoda is somewhere cackling manically in the background.

It’s your shock that allows Andy to steer you out of the courtroom after the police arrive. You’re shaking as he loads you into the sleek black car in the parking lot, bile rising in your throat as your thighs rub together. The skin sticks uncomfortably, the slick he left behind cool and rapidly drying already. Everything sounds muffled, like each sound is traveling through six inches of glass to get to your ears. 

  It’s like you’re not even in your body, your consciousness floating high above the roof of the vehicle as Andy straps himself in and squeezes your thigh affectionately. You’re controlling your body from above like a puppeteer, yanking roughly on the strings to inspire stiff, jerky movements. You’re so separated from yourself that even the rage and despair feel muted. 

  Like they don’t even belong to you. 

  What does belong to me? 

  It’s drizzling now, rain running in fat drops down the car window as Andy shifts into gear. He stops at the gate, waiting for the attendant to lift the black and white bar. 

  “Are you hungry, honey? Don’t know if you ate anything before you left this morning—thanks, Joe,” the attendant hands him a slip of paper through the cracked window with a stamp on it. Andy drives slowly over the speed bump, and then pauses, his eyes resting heavily on you as he waits to enter the stream of traffic. 

“Sweetheart, you’re going to have to communicate with me a little, here. I know it wasn’t… ideal,” he cards a hand through his hair. “But that’s okay. We’re going to move forward, make the best of things—”

  You slam back into your body, your soul weighted down with rocks made of shame and guilt. 

  “Will Laurie move forward too?” The words come out of your mouth before you’re really ready for them to, and Andy heaves a sigh. 

  “Yes. She won’t be happy when I tell her about us, obviously, but how else are we going to make this work?” He cocks his head at you like he’s waiting for you to voice your understanding. “I told you honey,” he reaches across the dash to squeeze your hand. “This is my future.” 

  “I don’t think she’s going to see it that way.” 

  “It doesn’t matter how she sees it."

  “A-Andy, I didn’t—I don’t—” You can’t stop the tears from welling up in your eyes. “I don’t want this, let me out! Open the door, Andy—” You tug on the door, but it doesn’t open, and Andy easily peels out into traffic.

  “Don’t lie to me, honey.” His voice is low, and the hand he places on your thigh squeezes hard enough to bruise. “You can lie to everyone else, yourself, if you’re inclined, but not to me.” 

  “Andy y-you’re hurting me—” He cuts off your whimper with a sharp glare.

  “And it hurts me to hear you say there’s nothing here,” he snarls. “You came into the house that night, honey, I didn’t force you. You let me touch you,” he reminds you, and his words feel like a heavy punch to the gut. You want to deny it, but your voice won’t come up out of the tightness of your throat. Even more, you hate the tiny, dark voice that whispers how right he is. 

  How you’d led him on, how you’d allowed things to go so far—

  How this was your fault, and no one else’s. Good girls don’t go drinking in married men’s houses. 

  “What’s the name of your mother’s head doctor, honey? It’s Piers, isn’t it?” He asks, and the question makes you want to sink right through the bottom of the car and melt into the asphalt. You nod stiffly. You don’t want to answer, but deep down, you know he already knows. “Isn’t it?” His knuckles are white, his fingers clamped tightly around the steering wheel. 

  “Y-yes, it is.” 

  “He’s a good friend of mine, you know,” Andy remarks coldly, the water on the glass beginning to streak horizontally as the car accelerates. “I know it can’t be cheap, her care.” The audi zips by other cars, turning them into blurs as Andy weaves in and out of traffic. 

  “A-Andy—”

  “I know they’ve already talked to you about options, isn’t that right?” He speaks louder to be heard over the increasingly intense hum of the engine. You place a panicked hand on the window as he swerves into the other lane, the tires spraying sheets of water as he goes. “Pulling the plug?” 

  “Andy s-slow down, you’re scaring me—”

  “The insurance settlement isn’t paying enough, are they honey?” The tires squeal as he takes a corner sharply, and you yelp. 

  “Stop!”

  “Answer me!”

  “No,” you sob, frantic tears running in rivulets down your cheeks. “No it doesn’t pay enough, okay! You’re acting crazy, Andy, please—”

  “Then say the word, honey. I can make that all go away. Take care of everything. But I can’t do that for just anybody.” The car swerves dangerously, the tires spinning against the wet road. You sob, burying your fingers in your hair as you curl in on yourself in terror. 

  “Okay! Okay, Andy, I—I want you, okay?” You cry out frantically, hanging on to the door handle for dear life as he swerves to avoid a minivan. “Please!”

  You can feel the car begin to decelerate, the frantic noise of the tires squealing against the asphalt dropping to a low hum. Your heart is still pounding wildly as he grins over the console at you. 

  “Wonderful, honey.” You can’t force your trembling mouth to mirror his own joy. “I thought you might see things my way.”

  —

  Andy watches you stagger into the pool-house, your form going blurry behind the glass doors as you close them. He wants to be with you, to comfort and assure you that things will be fine, that all you need to do is trust him, and he’ll take care of the rest. 

  But unfortunately, there’s something else to be handled first. 

  Laurie’s car is parked in the driveway, angled just awkwardly enough that Andy knows she’s been drinking all afternoon. That was usually what brunch with the girls entailed, bottomless gin and tonics that her light brunches could never hope to soak up. He finds her on the couch, an arm thrown haphazardly over her eyes to block out the light. 

  “Good brunch, I take it.” Andy replies shortly, and Laurie groans, looking up at him blearily. 

  “Pauline pours about half the bottle every time,” she says sheepishly, sitting up with a grimace. “You know how she is.” Her voice goes conspiratorial, and she gets a knowing little smirk on her face as though she’s privy to information Andy doesn’t have. He doesn’t know when she’d gone from powerhouse to neighborhood gossip and queen bee, but Andy knows he doesn’t like the change. 

  He can’t help the curl of his lip as he regards her, turning his back as he swallows down the irritation.

  “Oh come on. It’s not like the whole neighborhood doesn’t know she’s a lush.”

  “I doubt anyone cares as much as you do, Laurie.” He snaps. He can feel the weight of her ire from across the room, sticky and hot on his back like tar. The divorce papers are in his briefcase, the paper still warm from the printer. 

  “Here we go. Another lecture from the perfect husband.” Laurie spits back at him, clamoring up off of the couch to glare at him with her hands on her hips. She's gearing up for a fight, one Andy no longer has the wherewithal to participate in. “Let’s hear it, then. I’m a bad mother, a bad wife.”

  It feels almost rehearsed, the way she falls back on the cycle of toxicity like an old friend. Andy can feel the pull of habit, the familiar desire to hit back, to give Laurie exactly what she wants. 

  The pattern is always the same, needling one another until all hell breaks loose, culminating in hateful, angry sex that leaves him exhausted and empty. But not this time.

  This time, Andy has you. He fights to keep the smirk off of his lips as he produces the papers from his work briefcase, straightening them into a neat stack before putting them down on the counter. 

  “I want a divorce, Laurie.” He taps his finger against the papers. “This?” He gestures between the two of them. “Has been dead since before Jacob—”

  “Don’t you dare blame me for Jake,” she hisses. “He’s my son too, or have you forgotten that?”

  “Your son you don’t bother to visit,” Andy strikes back at her with the same venom. “Your son you wish would just hurry up and die. You think I don’t know how you feel? The whole fucking world knows how you feel, Laurie.” 

  “Y-you can’t just give up—” She sputters at him, her eyes wide and disbelieving. 

  “Give up?” He slams a hand on the table, and Laurie jumps at the sound of it. “I never gave up. I’ve been here, in the goddamn trenches fighting for this life, for our son. It’s you that gave up, Laurie, I’m just following your example.”

  He can see the pain on her face, but it doesn’t bother him the way it probably should. He can still remember when Laurie felt like home to him, when the scent of her skin made him feel safe and whole—but now, it lingers uncomfortably in his nose like it doesn’t belong. Her eyes flash angrily as she glares at the pool house through the kitchen window.

  “It’s her, isn’t it?” She sneers, pointing a shaking finger in your general direction. “I knew you were fucking her,” she shakes her head, swiping at her red rimmed eyes with the backs of her hands. “I want you and your slut out of my house,” she shrieks, swiping a glass off of the counter to shatter against the tile flooring. “Get out!” She’s seething, her shoulders shaking as she holds back tears. 

  “This is my house, Laurie.” Andy replies smoothly, threading his fingers together. She gawks at him through the alcohol induced haze. “And if you’d like to put me out of it, I suggest you find yourself a good lawyer.”

  “Fuck you, Andy.” She stomps past him out of the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of wine from the rack. “I’m not going anywhere.” Andy wonders how much of this is real, and how much of it is Laurie’s regret at not holding on tighter. She slings the bottle at the wall, grinning as it bursts in a shower of wine and glass shards. “I’m going to tell everyone, tell them what a piece of shit you are—”

  “I’m sure they’ll believe the woman who tried to murder her own son.” He quips, leaning against the doorframe as Laurie continues her path of destruction toward the stairs. Quietly, he slips his phone from his pocket, and dials the police. 

  “911, what’s your emergency?”

  “Yes, I… I think there’s a bit of a domestic dispute, my ex-wife is drunk and destroying my home. She’s making threats, and I’m concerned for both our safety.” 

  She’s still yelling as the cops push her down into the car, the officer giving Andy a friendly wave. 

  “Some day, huh?” He says, tipping his hat in Andy’s direction. “The courthouse, now this.” 

  Andy’s gaze flicks toward the poolhouse, where movement by the curtains draws his gaze. You’re peeking out over the lawn, watching as Andy talks to the officers. Laurie beats her fist against the window, her voice muffled by the glass. 

  “Yeah,” he says with a small smile. “Some day.”

When it comes to realizing your desire, sometimes you have to be a little bit crazy in a way that you are fully convinced that your desire has already come true despite not seeing it in the 3D.

All the best people, all the celebrities, millionaires and billionaires have told the same old story over the years. They each have their own way of manifesting, and you can have your own way too. You don't have to follow Neville step by step, people like him are only here to help and guide you. You can tailor your own methods on manifesting, there are no rules for mad people.

You have to fully let go of logic because it simply does not exist. What your logically thinking is actually a program embedded by society, your parents and friends. In the beginning of your journey its normal to feel some resistance but if you are willing to give yourself the permission to fall down that rabbit hole let yourself be lost in Wonderland, I can assure you your life will turn out for the better. It will feel like magic, certain things will happen that you didn't even think would be possible, people will change their minds, their memories will be altered, all your problems will disappear...

But it will only work if you believe. Believe in your power to manifest anything, anyone and everything. Nothing is set in stone, you get to change the past and write the future. That's how powerful you are, you are no different from your idols because you yourselves conjured them up in your reality. Everyone is a projection of your subconscious mind.

I have been saying this for at least a decade now but I've never liked the way people treated Kanye's very obvious mental illness as a joke, until he went too far and became irredeemable. Like it was warning sign after warning sign for over fifteen years and everyone just went "Haha, that's Kanye! Always saying some crazy shit!" I have never seen a celebrity who more obviously needed medication and treatment, but it was all just treated like a joke.

And then when he finally went totally bonkers and started saying barely coherent racist shit to Alex Jones, suddenly he's an anathema, as if this isn't the result of being very very sick for years and years while everyone around you continues to hype you up and treat you like a god while you refuse to take your meds. Yes, he said some awful irredeemable shit on that podcast and shouldn't be able to have a career after that.

But if you actually watch the episode, it is impossible to see a guy who simply turned racist and not someone who is completely unstable and should absolutely not be recorded for the public while he's in that state. For fuck's sake, he showed up like this:

And he said some awful shit! That shouldn't be forgiven! But he also said he thought his mom (who died from surgery complications) was a human sacrifice. Along with Michael Jordan's dad. He blamed all of this on Zionists and satan. Does this, in all honesty, sound like a person who is any condition to be recorded for a multi-million follower podcast right now? But because he's Kanye, until this moment, he pretty much got to do whatever he wanted and go on whatever show he chose, because no one was saying "Hey maybe we shouldn't let this guy run off his mouth on the air." It's Kanye! Who's gonna pass up that publicity?

I'm not excusing his behavior on the show (or any of his past behavior). I'm just saying that it's frustrating to me to see how little understanding people have always seemed to have towards the fact that this man is sick and has needed a lot more help than he's ever gotten. If you take all his bullshit in the context of "Guy who has badly needed treatment for decades but was surrounded by yes men instead" I think his actions make a lot more sense. It doesn't make them good or excusable actions, but it makes it obvious that this isn't as simple as "dude goes down anti-semitism pipeline." And it KILLS me that people are acting like this was just a "mask off" moment where he reveals that he's racist, when the reality is way more complicated than that.

I don't know if he's a good person. I don't know if he actually believes any of the shit he says, if he actually believes worse, or if this was 100% delusion that Alex Jones just happened catch on camera. I have no idea. But I do know that no one in that studio stepped in to stop that recording from happening, and that makes me uncomfortable.

come and take a walk on the wild side is currently 60k and does not show ANY sign of stopping right now.

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

I'm thinking either the Old West AU or the 1940s AU simply because I plan to do such vast world building.

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

Old West AU for sure, but that's also where most of my mind has been on my upcoming WIPs. I'm going to love revisiting the "We'll Always Have Paris" verse though.

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

Either the 1940s AU because it's a case fic and I'll have to put a lot of thought into that b-plot or the On the Lam AU because it's not going to be the most sanitized storytelling.

Neither Carlos nor Tk is the villain, but the world won't see it that way.

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

I think it's yesterday's love was a warm summer breeze, the sequel to summer slipped us underneath her tongue.

I didn't expect so many people to be excited for the sequel, let alone love the story so much, so I'm just hoping I continue doing justice to that little world.

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

I'm not sure, I think I might need a sensitivity reader for these eyes don't cry simply because I've never written a therapist before.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

come and take a walk on the wild side was on the mend for a second there, but right now the inspiration is back. TK's interlude is being written, ya'll!

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

If you've read any of my AUs you know I LOVE a good OC so this is like asking me to pick a favorite child.

Ruth Baker is an office clerk in the Old West AU who I simply just adore. I get to write things like this:

Hartlock gives in to the moment, his hands looking to grab purchase on TK’s skin.

I write so many AUs so it's hard to say who's extremely true to the show, but maybe these eyes don't cry since it's exploring what the show has given us as Carlos?

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

Old West AU most likely. That's one I'm really take my time with the world building on. By the end of you're going to be so sick of hearing about dim bar lightning, crooked streams and blood crusted eyebrows.

Right now, it's probably yesterday's summer love was a warm summer breeze since I made both TK and Carlos' journey in the Parisian Summer AU so detailed. Now I have to keep it going LMAO

Old West AU because I'm finally writing things I've always wanted to give myself the chance to write. Cowboys, religious imagery, a fully fleshed arc and hey, the smut is kind of just icing on the cake at this point.

I actually just had one (as in TODAY) and I dreamed I wrote half a chapter of two of them and just POSTED THEM??

I'm hesitant to say other stories won't have these things going forward, come and take a walk on the wild side really does utilize the non-linear storytelling tag and the unreliable narrator tag.

You're not supposed to agree with TK often, but that's the point.

That said, I love an unreliable narrator so I can't say it won't show up again. It just doesn't show up in the other works I'm working on, right now.

18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?

Either Lone Star Lately or Beauty Lingers Out of Reach. Lone Star Lately is literally a workplace rom-com au that teeters the line of enemies to lovers it's gotta be FILLED with humor.

19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?

Owen's arc is actually the B Plot of the Witness Protection AU! I love a good b-plot (and sometimes even a c-plot) and this one is no different.

Due to being in the Witness Protection program and not being able to be out in the public eye as often as he used to, he can't be a firefighter for the time being. So, now he has to figure out who he is when he's not his job.

20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.

Four of these AUs already have sequels outlined - some are multi-chapter, some are just really long one-shots

I’m glad you’re back with your criticisms, I’ve always like reading them because you make extremely valid points.

I know I’m only one person, but as a BKDK shipper I’m so sorry about how we treat other people within this fandom. It’s like you can’t even have an opinion here anymore without someone knocking you down. And yes, all my BKDK thoughts are completely fanon and personal interpretations, but canon Bakugo is an asshole and it should be talked about, because the fact of the matter is that Izuku SHOULDNT forgive him and anything he’s done to him.

When it comes to shipping in the MHA community, I don’t think it’s solely a BkDk problem. The reason I rag on BkDk Stans is cause they’re the loudest and have the most influence over the fandom. The shipping wars and the harassment that comes from it is more of a problem with the MHA fandom. There’s nothing wrong with shipping something, but people have to learn when to separate fiction from reality. For example, you know that your ship isn’t canon and your thoughts are from personal interpretations and your own head-canons. In the same vein, my favorite MHA ship has not interacted a single time from what I can recall and I only ship it cause I like both the characters in it and because of my own head-canons. Liking a ship isn’t the problem as long as you can differentiate between canon and non-canon while also respecting opinions that differ from yours. The MHA fandom somehow doesn’t quite understand this. I’d say it’s cause they’re young teens, but I’ve seen grown ass adults obsess over ships as if it’s their lifelines.

To really emphasize on the unhealthiness of MHA’s shipping community, let’s pick on the two biggest groups, BkDk Stans and IzuOcha Stans, cause ultimately, the two communities are different sides of the same coins. Reminder that I’ll be talking about Stans, not fans.

BkDk Stans are, simply put, delusional. Never have I seen a group of stans insist that their non-canon ship is canon more than I have BkDk stans. They’re the champions of mental gymnastics and they’ll do everything they can to argue why BkDk is endgame. They make shit up about both characters (such as how Katsuki bullied Izuku to protect him and how Izuku deserves to be bullied) and are so wrapped up in their fantasies that they ignore canon evidence. In fact, they become outright hostile towards it and will lash out immediately if someone even mentions they don’t like the ship outside of their bubbles. It’s as if criticizing the ship is like criticizing someone’s religion. They also have huge victim complexes too. You call one out for being a dick to you and there’ll be a swarm of them harassing you instead.

If BkDk Stans are delusional, IzuOcha stans are arrogant. They know IzuOcha’s the endgame ship, and it causes them to have a superiority complex. They look down on other ships for not being canon. If you say you don’t like IzuOcha, they’ll slam you with evidence of why it’s canon. Part of their drive comes from homophobia too. MHA’s fandom has a lot of gay shippings, most of them revolving around Izuku. IzuOcha stans see this and will immediately point out that Izuku is straight as another “haha gotcha” and “this is why IzuOcha’s the best” moment. Sure, in canon you can say Izuku is straight, but why does that matter? If people wanna make him gay, trans, etc. in their own fanfics, there’s nothing wrong with that. Whereas BkDk stans are too wrapped up in their delusions, IzuOcha stans are too wrapped up with canon and won’t let people do what they want.

Ultimately, MHA has a huge problem with the culture around shipping. Something about the series makes people go bonkers when it comes to shipping in ways that exceed fandoms with similar issues such as Danganronpa and Undertale.

Take the parents of the first arc cats (so moonflower and stormtail for example) keep the mates they have but their kits, aka the first arc cats, HAVE to genetically be a possibility

So moonflower is a grey tabby! And stormtail is a solid black! Because I'm not going all the way back to this bloodlines start (dotc don't exist in this for design reasons) we can add a bit to these twos genes-

for example: stormtail carries the diluted gene and the long haired gene. Meaning his kits with moonflower can be any cat that are one of these: black tabby, grey tabby, solid grey or solid black (amounts of white spotting depends on if either parent has any) and the kits can be long haired or short haired!

So! That means that bluestar can be their daughter! But, depending on how much white you believe snowfur has she cannot be

The ages of the first arc cats above a certain age don't matter, so cats as bluestar and spottedleaf can be a similar age when in the books spotted is a decent number of moons younger. I'm not giving a shit about that I hate numbers I'm not dealing with that— but that means that cats that aren't explicitly given an age or a vague age in the book simply exist in grey area.

Cats like longtail, who is called a newly named warrior would be a little over a year old, and obviously cats like rusty/firepaw are 6ish moons. Meaning longtail can't have been in the same litter as some of the older cats but instead is the kit of them, still only genetically possible.

Any cat I can't make the kit of anymore are automatically deemed a rogue/loner kit that got adopted, or they're a result of a cross clan affair, so I can fiddle with their genes and not have to name a second parent

But the hard shit but fun part about it is that all cats HAVE to keep their inbook descriptions, I can't fiddle with that to make any cat fit what I want, I can add hidden genes if their parents aren't known or originates from a different clan

It depends exactly how it goes down, when things are revealed, and how it's presented to the family.

Edward Cheats with Jacob to Get Out of Sleeping with Bella

For the Love of a Woman features its own breakdown, but in that scenario it's very clearly Edward having gone completely bonkers and abandoning Bella for a man he may or may not have feelings for (it's unclear to the others by the end of the fic).

In that case, it was easy for most of the family (sans Esme) to side against Edward even with no real connection to Bella.

Edward 'Practices' to Prepare for Sleeping with Bella

Two Men and a Baby and Prima Nocta star here and mostly, so far, the family has no idea what's happening or what to think of it. They're mostly just very scandalized by all of it.

If push came to shove, we'd probably see most of them taking Bella's side again, because this is very clearly Edward's fault, but both fics sort of avoid the issue.

Edward Gets Tired of His Wife

Here's where it gets complicated.

What we have here is years of a dysfunctional marriage where, depending how this goes down, it seems as if Edward's simply fallen out of love with his wife.

Unlike the other situations, failing to feel what Bella wishes for him to feel is not his fault, it can't be helped, what can be helped is the fact that he acted on it by sleeping with someone behind her back rather than trying to break it off.

But then you get to them being stuck together forever, that breaking it off would mean one leaving the coven most likely, or being awkwardly around forever, not to mention what will happen with Renesmee.

It could be argued by some that Edward does want to love Bella, that this was an act of passion, but that he hopes that it will fade and they can rekindle their relationship.

So, I guess to break this down, here's where I'm at as far as how characters will take it.

Alice

Alice sides with the winning team, the one who will bring the most stability and peace to the family as a whole. Most likely, this will mean 'siding' with Edward, though 'siding' here will be enabling him to conduct his affair on the sly until he gets bored with this new lover, killing the lover if it's a human before Edward can do the cheating, gaslighting Bella into thinking Edward's not really cheating, and doing everything in her power to keep the status quo.

She won't like it, whatever she ends up doing, and as in canon she'll give Edward endless grief over it and blame him for things going completely awry, but if she sides with Bella then the family will fracture and she'll most likely lose her brother.

If she plays her cards right, then she can keep everything as it is.

Bella

Depends how Edward manages to present it/how good a job of gaslighting Alice does. Bella could very well be convinced that Edward cheating is her fault because she's not good enough and never was, that this is a personal failing on her end. Bella could very well meekly step aside and make room for Edward's latest lover, telling everyone it's okay, and then crying in the bathroom when she thinks no one is listening.

Carlisle

Depends how it's presented/the order he finds things out in.

He'll think this is a giant mess but potentially that this is a sign that Bella and Edward married too soon and married too young: they weren't meant to last.

It's unfortunate, but no one can make Edward love Bella if he doesn't. The best he can do is try to mediate the fallout.

Now, if he finds out Edward's sleeping around with Tanya and or a human behind Bella's back, that he hasn't settled things with Bella first, then he's going to be much more disapproving about all of this.

Edward

Edward always supports Edward because Edward is always right.

Emmett

He's staying out of this one. He's going to say whatever gives him the least amount of grief personally and wait until it blows over. This will mean agreeing with whatever conclusion Rosalie comes to in public and in private not saying much or just giving Edward an awkward shake of the head whenever Edward looks at him imploringly.

Esme

Depends.

If she's come to see Bella as a daughter, she'll be very torn, as she wants them both to be happy, would prefer if they're happy with each other, but again if Edward's not happy with Bella then no one can make him happy with Bella.

Esme doesn't really understand why Edward changed his mind, why he would risk wife and daughter for this, but she also won't want to judge him for this and will try to give him the benefit of the doubt.

If Edward's very openly cheating on her though, and with no rational behind it as in For the Love of a Woman, Esme's going to have a harder time coming to terms with this.

Jasper

Jasper's also staying out of this one. He very likely disapproves of all of it, for all that he never says it out loud, and immediately thinks lesser of Edward as this means Edward is a creature of passion who fancies himself in love with whatever catches his eye next, but he would view it as not his place to say what he thinks.

Plus, Alice is falling apart over this, he needs to focus on supporting her through this mess.

Renesmee

Renesmee gets a lot of awkward talks with her extended family about how her mommy and daddy don't love each other anymore. She didn't notice because mommy and daddy hadn't talked to her in weeks.

Alternately, Bella sobs to Renesmee telling her they'll get through this and Renesmee finds herself in the strange circumstance of trying to comfort her mother.

Rosalie

Rosalie I imagine is torn. On the one hand, she never liked Bella all that much and that Edward fell out of love with her is unfortunate but not unthinkable to her. Could they try to do couple's therapy or make it work? Sure, but it's not technically Edward's fault and something he shouldn't be blamed for.

However, if Edward is openly cheating/caught before the cracks become known, Rosalie's going to think he's a selfish pig who didn't even try to keep his marriage together.

The excuses always are "oh we cant ship Vickie with Robin, we don't know enough about her, and they didn't interact enough for us to ship them, oh Vickie has no personality."

But then the fandom turns around and ships Gareth, who we know exactly three things about: plays dnd, likes metal, and plays drums in the same band as Eddie, and he is basically interchangeable with the other two corroded coffin/ hellfire dudes for all we know about them, with Will who he has never met. (This isn't a criticism of the character or the ship, more of the way people treat Gareth and Gareth/Will vs how they treat Vickie and Robin/Vickie.)

We have so many little things about Vickie. The strong hints of her being bi. Her having a similar sense of humour and taste in movies to Steve, like with the muppet joke and Fast Times. She's in band with Robin. She stayed behind and volunteered after the earthquake. She rambles when she gets flustered/nervous.

So imo its half 😡 she gets in the way of my gay ship so she is the worst. And half just the general fandom thing of treating women like shit, or holding them to a higher standard than men.

(seriously this fandom sees three men that have so little development and personality that they are basically the same character and can give them all in depth and different background stories. But one woman that has some overlap of interests with other characters, while still being her own character and it's just she's basically the same as a different character, that she has obvious differences to, so we're not even going to include her, or if we do she's the villain or we're going to treat her like shit)

totally agree anon! also interesting that gareth and will have dnd in common and yet.... but i suppose it could be considered a crack ship (though not extremely so) and therefore one might dismiss it as not counting the same as Vickie. I don't dislike it it's simply a ship that's there to me haha.

maybe like. last fall or something the vickie hate got really bad for some reason like I damn. I guess she's a bit of a blank slate so you can give her any personality but there was some really rank stuff happening. absolutely bonkers. either that or ignoring her existance or a quick "crush faded/it didn't work out". which is fair it's their fic and they can glance over whatever they want but it's frustrating when it's sooo common. and the excuse that they barely interacted (even tho everytime Vickie was there it was some kind of romantic thing for robin!) so it's hard to ship them. seems like a bit of a copout to me. people have shipped more with less. (also bypasses potential dram there which would maybe be fun to see? thy're so messy let them be messy) soooo right about it being part for the ship part treating women poorly. (a common problem in fandoms far and wide)

But also we do know a few things about that aren't "rambles and is in band". she also talks over the national anthem and eavesdrops! She gets passionate about movies, gets distracted, and enjoys Robin's company! It's so sad that she's often left to the wayside for being boring or too much like Robin yet other male side characters we know even less about get backstories etc from the fandom. Like damn can we not give vickie some time to shine? more love for vickie always!!
