Tired of all those “Ponyboy’s birthday is forgotten about” (/lh) fics. Where are the “Darry’s birthday is forgotten about because they’re all too busy mourning” fics at?

Where’s the content of Darry ignoring that it’s his birthday? Or just flat out forgetting because he’s so focused on making sure his kid brothers are okay? Where’s Soda and Ponyboy subconsciously knowing but they’re so caught up in their grief that it doesn’t come to mind?

It doesn’t even have to be the full group forgetting. Where’s the other greasers knowing, but assuming the three are just as aware and giving them space to mourn, deciding they’d celebrate with them tomorrow? Where’s Soda, Pony, and Darry realizing the day after; Soda and Pony because the others are talking about what they can do to celebrate late all together and Darry because he caught a glimpse of the calendar and realized what else was written on the day before?

Maybe I’ll write it, idk.

The relief whenever I think I’m starting to crush on a new character until the feeling goes away and then eventually seeing someone self ship with that character instead makes me feel less guilty of not f/o’ing them, especially if the character wasn’t really being self shipped before until someone ended up doing it, so it’s like “You may not been meant for me, but I’m happy you were for someone else.” And how sweet it is to see that character being loved by someone at the end of the day.

I watched a movie about a girl trapped in like, fairytale land and somehow the fairy tales were all just starting when she arrived. this threw up a question for me and naturally lead to a thought:

141 as fairy tale characters in fairytale land - but they're trapped in a time loop. just merely after the end of their fairytale they just, start over again - vs reader who somehow stumbles into their wold. naturally they're head over heels for you - but they know whatever they can have with you can't last long; they need to follow their story and start it all over again when their time comes

V1 and Gabriel are absolutely obsessed with each other - in many ways than either of them know how to express

V1 can't help but admire Gabriels skill, the raw power a being made of blood and flesh has, the speed, the sheer determination to keep going, the brilliance of him, how he's so different yet so very much the same as itself, the are one and the same and if it wasn't for V1 being a machine and Gabriel an angel they'd be literally the same thing.

They're both tools - both made to be used by their creators in fights they didn't have a say in, only to be thrown to the side when no longer deemed necessary/capable

Gabriel is infatuated with V1, it infuriates him - an object, something supposed to be so simple actually able to match him? To not only beat him half to death not once, but twice! It's a deadly little thing yet Gabriel can't help but be impressed, the force this little blue robot holds is not one you want to be at the receiving end of.

He's curious, he's in awe, he hates it with every fiber of his being and wants to see it in pieces, it's mechanical gore spread across the ground by his blades, yet he can't help but want to learn more about it, it opened up his mind - and he can see so Much more clearly and he wants to know just how this little machine can do that to an Archangel of all things. What other wonders does a war machine turned survivalist has to offer?

They need to tear each other apart - it's just what needs to happen. V1 needs blood and at the end of hell Gabriel will be it's only source. Gabriel needs an ending, something worthy to end his life with a brilliant bang as the father's light leaves him.

But they need to know each other. They need to learn each other, rough, metal hands against angelic skin, calloused hands against metal plating, stained and coated red in the blood of hell's denizens.

They hate each other with enough passion it's turned to love, infatuation, desire. They can't stop thinking about each other. They need each other.

i really don't wanna sound superior and annoying rn, but this is a win for the real swifties (and ofc taylor!!!) the people who never pressured her, never begged for rerecords and moved on to the next thing as soon as they were out, never cared about anything but the music of the human we don't know, but all hold dear. to us, it makes sense!!! about rep tv, the masters, the music.....all of it. honestly, it just makes me really happy that the people i've always perceived to be the real swifties are the ones in line with taylor's actual values & ideas

I adore Wicked’s use of colour in their movies - and now seeing how the same colours (mainly pink, green, blue & red) have been used in both ‘The Wizard and I’ and ‘Wonderful’. I’m sure someone can put this into words better than me but I’m going to write my brain out anyways haha, so bear with me. :)

One of our first introductions to Elphaba is through ‘The Wizard and I’ which describes her hopefulness and belief in the Wizard, how they could form a powerful team together, one that Oz would celebrate. We see her desire for acceptance. We see colour being used as Elphaba spins the mirrors, being also degreenified when the pink cancels out the green, making her skin colour, normal, one that people would not immediately judge her for.

Unfortunately, what was one hope became betrayal. We move narratively to ‘Wonderful’ in the second act, and now the movie has used these same colours again appearing as if it’s a celebration, where in fact it’s a manipulation by the Wizard, a coercion, through his charm and storytelling, to try and get Elphaba to join him (Glinda being included, now also suggests just how far she’s become complicit in his world, whether she knows it fully yet or not).

He does very nearly succeed and it is only when we are snapped back into the reality (and not the Wizard’s storytelling) with the reveal of Dr Dillamond, technically Elphaba’s first ever friend at Shiz, that we see her stand firmly against everything that the Wizard represents.

It feels like such an important narrative contrast.

These set of colours that once represented hopefulness, acceptance and belonging now represent manipulation, disillusionment and coercion.

My thoughts on Bucks 'jealousy': I genuinely think Buck was jealous of both Eddie, and of Tommy.

Tommy is new, he doesn't understand these feelings he has towards Tommy. He doesn't recognize his attraction to a man. He knows he can't name whatever it is, but there's a feeling there towards Tommy he hasn't experienced before.

With Eddie, Buck has always had some sort of feelings towards Eddie. these feelings are so deeply ingrained in who he is that he doesn't recognize/fully understand the lengths of his attraction (they love each other to the core). He is so in love with Eddie that he doesn't recognize it as anything other than normal.

So, Buck is attracted to Tommy and jealous because he doesn't think Tommy wants him in the same way and Buck is so connected to Eddie that he's upset and mad over Eddie possibly choosing someone over him, that Buck isn't as important to Eddie as Eddie is to Buck.

At first I was honestly so upset and just confused why Odysseus suddenly said “I love you” to Calypso. Like yeah, afterwards he says “but not in the way you want me to.” which still implies that he LOVES her in SOME way

So, we all know what Calypso did to Odysseus (if you don’t, just in short. She forced herself onto him nightly and made him do sexual acts with her without his full consent.) and so like the question is, why would he say that?? Well people who are normally in that situation sometimes can form this mental disorder called Stockholm syndrome.

Google Definition : Stockholm syndrome is a coping mechanism to a captive or abusive situation. People develop positive feelings toward their captors or abusers over time. This condition applies to situations including child abuse, coach-athlete abuse, relationship abuse and sex trafficking.

And, that also includes r4p3.

After being stuck with her for SEVEN YEARS, forced to partake in acts of “love” nightly, it would be more shocking if Odysseus DIDNT form Stockholm syndrome.

“Oh but he’s a man!! He should be tougher than that!!” So what if he’s a man?? HES STILL A VICTIM. IT HAD BEEN STATED WHAT ODYSSEUS WAS PUT THROUGH. And in EPIC it is HEAVILY implied(in my personal opinion)

Anyways though, of course Odysseus doesn’t genuinely LOVE Calypso. But he also can’t control a trauma response. (because YES THAT FORMS INTO TRAUMA. SERIOUS TRAUMA.) He says he loves her, but quickly started that it wasn’t in the way she wished he did. HE doesn’t LOVE her, his brain “loves” her.
