perhaps an unpopular opinion but i really think having no full voice acting (regardless of its quality ..) was a key part in the zelda game vibe for me and i dearly miss it

besides its obvious benefits of being cheaper and easier to do, its just got a specific feel of ... i cant really describe it, but i miss it alot ........ plus its basically impossible to ruin our sour a character through bad or unfitting voice acting ..

all this content today made me realize how much I am so proud of him, truly I feel like a faithful wife who always believed in him, who saw something in him and who fought for let everyone see it. but above all, he made his way on his own. he is still young and he will have so many opportunities and roles.

you don't realize but he's so versatile, because all his roles are so different. and i swear every time he has a role in a show, he's the one that people notice. he's a star who finally shines. and my god, what a satisfying feeling.

he is so talented and he deserves everything that happens to him today. only, I don't want the hype around him to disappear after "queer", I want it to put him at the top, in the hall of fame.

I'm so happy. because we see so many new actors with no talent at the moment but him, he's just so pure and perfect.

and he is always smiling and polite with his fans. I swear no one deserves him. he's an angel. lana del rey was right, when I go to heaven I beg you to let him come with me.

It feels so good to support an actor and a man who is not problematic. I can go to war for him. men are trash but him, god make him perfect.

i like to think that even his haters can't deny how incredible he is because no one talks bad about his acting. he is so fabulous

I don't know if I was desperate for a little silly serotonin boost, if I am too unserious or if people are just straight up haters to everything but like...

I swear the ATLA la is not nowhere as bad as many are making it to be, like, this isn't a carbon copy of the og series, nothing will ever top of ATLA and if you wanted it to be the same just go watch the show again?

I've watched ATLA so many times in my life, it's my comfort show as much as yours. But the live action isn't the cartoon, that I understood right away. And of course it has a lot of flaws (and tbh I blame today's way of media consumption at that, trying to squish complex storylines in the least time possible, and also mainstream media performative activism but that's a war for another day) but as a stand alone thing I thought it was pretty solid? I felt like the essence of the show was brought to justice after the unspeakable movie. It felt familiar, at least to me idk.

I don't think this was for the fans honestly, it's been 19 since the og aired. Many things in the world have changed but many are still the same, I think this series was meant more to catch onto the new generations and public. I'm giving you a personal example but I've always recommended the show to everyone I know and despite all my efforts, there are still A LOT of people who disregard animation as something only for kids and wouldn't see it (boludos pero bue) and guess what? They're seeing the live action, and they love it.

Also the fact that there's a show with a cast of mainly asian and native-american actors at last? sign me tf up.

Overall, even if I didn't like some changes they made I still enjoyed it and mostly I want this series to succeed. Mainly because the ATLA story is always going to be relevant, even if it is fantasy it has the representation about people and feelings we don't often see in things. (like, as a girl from a south american country, seeing stories about fighting colonial and imperialists little shits are always gonna hit close home)

Don't get me wrong, it is completely valid if you didn't like the live action. Criticism is great, we need it a lot actually if there's going to be a S2.

But saying is straight up shit and garbage (even before seeing it) just because it's not a frame to frame copy and then go online complaining making 5839 posts about it? Grow up.

Okay, so now that I have hung my head in shame, here is my take:

Do I think Netflix has involvement? On bigger cons, probably yes. There might even be appearances stipulated on his contract. On a small con like this? Most likely, 99,9% likely that no, it’s not involved. From what it looks, he got invited by the organisation and agreed to go.

From what I read in her page, a lot of tickets were sold yesterday after the announcement and after the haters got a hold of it. It had been live for 10 hours on their Instagram when it got on Twitter and that mess started.

Now, it’s honestly a gamble. If he is announced, the backslash could happen - and it did. If he withdrew, this news could come up that he had refused to go to a charity con organised by a SA survivor. So it was a lose-lose situation in any occasion.

The backslash however, wasn’t terribly big. Somewhere around 4k tweets worldwide between yesterday and today’s early hours. But to a con that holds 2k tickets, it might seem like a lot.

I find it terribly difficult to believe that his team didn’t warn the con organisation about what was happening. They decided to gamble on posting his appearance. Now, there are two possibilities after this, in my opinion: the first is that he told his team that he doesn’t feel comfortable about going, and asked one of his castmates to go in his behalf, so the con isn’t penalised by this anymore than it has already been. The second is that the con asked him not to go, because of backslash, and in order to fulfil his end of the deal, they got her in contact with another cast member.

It’s a small con, with only one person + volunteers organising. They may have decided it was a security risk, based on Twitter.

In my most honest opinion, if he had been announced in the beginning of March, we wouldn’t have this problem. But it was too soon for the internet haters to know that he was speaking somewhere so soon. Most complaints were about “giving him a platform”.

If his PR team is good, they’ll probably soft launch him. Have in be seen doing groceries, or going down the street. Post a little something on his airtight controlled comment Instagram. Go to an official event where he won’t need to talk, just appear and smile, preferably dressed by a brand that can take the heat (as YSL did).

The major problem is that this was a small con. If this happens towards a big company, it won’t even be acknowledged.

To clarify my Opinion on the prequel for the days ahead

—> I first and foremost do not care. Critically I am not actually a fan of spn. I could BARELY stand that show even when the characters I actually liked (literally just the side characters) were on screen. Now the see double you wants me to look at zoomer Mary “I had to be literally brainwashed before I could love and have children with this man” Campbell (with STRAIGHT. HAIR.) and ken doll John “I’m such a rookie goofball even though I literally volunteered to go murder people in Vietnam” Winchester, as they fall in heterosexual love as conceived in the mind of Jensen “I literally think spn is/was a good show” Ackles. Lol. There is nothing on planet earth that could compel me to watch or even 🏴‍☠️ the prequel, I genuinely want nothing to do with it.

—> I have to emphasise that even the prequel bringing back any of my beloved side characters could compel me to watch it and in fact that would have the complete opposite effect. I would actually be repelled because I do not trust Jason Ankles I do not trust Robbie Thompson I do not trust a single spn writer to do anything but ruin these characters (more than they already may have been ruined of course) and yes this VERY MUCH includes Cas. This includes Rowena. This includes Crowley. This includes if they put angels and demons in new vessels. This even includes if they somehow get 70? Is he 70? Year old Mark Shep back in front of the camera in an all-black suit to be snide and miserable and gay again. I am ACTIVELY hoping that the prequel doesn’t touch any of them but if they do I swear to fucking christ.

Another exception is posts pointing out racism in the show, or the American jingoism and xenophobia, or any sexism, homophobia, or transphobia. I plan to continue hollering about CrowstieI and such for the foreseeable future. I won’t be keeping up episode by episode, it’ll literally just be if I stumble across a post I like.

Everything I said in my earlier point about the show maybe bringing back characters I like is still true, I will not actually watch them in the show, but if they DO put Cas or Crowley or Billie or another angel or demon I like on the show in their original vessels (MAYBE if they’re in a different vessel but it would depend on the look/vibes of the actor) or if they actually produce my 70s flower power Rowena vision (and hopefully it would be Ruth Connell because hopefully tptb would understand Rowena stopped ageing in medieval times and it wouldn’t make sense to cast a younger actor to play her just in the 70s, but tptb + understanding is always a tough one to wish for so). If they do those things then I may have to reblog gifs, fanart, or screens of them if only for the Visuals. But it would be tagged for ts and it would just be me wailing that I miss them or whatever reaction I have and that would be all.

The only weird person here is that anon. I swear the hotd fandom has the biggest "I can't differentiate between reality and fiction" problem I've ever seen, it's a nightmare.

And she's told me that some people do take some things too seriously when we are talking about fiction and a tv show. She actually got cancelled by part of the fandom last year because of a meme and had people sending her hate and reporting her account (having haters with zero sense of humour among other things must run in the family 😂). But that problem isn't exclusive from that fandom, tho. When The Vampire Diaries and The Originals were airing, I remember reading comments that 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ And it was all because many people struggled to understand that the characters and the actors aren't the same person, and that it is not their fault if something happens on the show and you don't like it.

I’ll say it…that Bridgerton glow up didn’t work for him. The hair and the way he carried himself as the lead was just so pantomime to me. I can’t take him seriously, it’s so overacted. And as much as the actor and actress have amazing real life chemistry I have not seen one shred of it in the show until the (spoiler) laugh in the carriage scene, that was the only moment where it felt authentic between them.

I just am not buying it.

I think Penelope is generally a trash character but I was actually excited for her storyline and it all happened in what felt like 35 seconds. Like how did Colin know he liked her? He just randomly did? They didn’t have a friends to lovers arc they had a friends arc for two seasons and then a lovers arc in this one…where was the “to”? I felt no progression.

Also, the costume has just gone full tilt ridiculous this season. It was never accurate but I think they’ve gone beyond creative license now. It looks like the live action Cinderella now. It has been so distracting to me to see Cressida’s outfits. I swear Pen is wearing a sequin dress in episode 4 like did they have Zara in 1815???

It’s fine, I am a full on hater of this season but I feel like maybe this is just the beginning of the show being unable to keep the quality of the show going, especially with these same characters in this same environment. Maybe it’s becoming stale idk.

I haven’t watched Maxton Hall…the trailer just looked a bit Wattpad idk 😂

Observing the fandoms of shows I watch that have lots of fans that skew younger makes me kind of marvel at how different things are in online fandom even just 10 years after I was their age.

Like, I know I probably sounded like I was losing my mind every 5 seconds in posts I made as a teenager, but some things I see nowadays are actually concerning. I see people taking things waaaayyyyyy too seriously. It’s a TV show. It’s not obligated to go in the direction you want it to. It’s not the end of the world when it doesn’t. It’s not even the end of the TV show yet. Who’s to say it won’t go in that direction eventually, or even do something completely different that you’ll like even more than what you initially wanted? And outside the bubble of those younger fans on tumblr and twitter, no one really cares about the same issues that are being blown out of proportion here.

I'm going to talk about Pike more in the "pros" section, I promise I'm not trying to be a hater. First off, I talked about the momentum of the last episode being break-neck and intense and perfect, and starting off this installment with Pike just ground everything to a halt in not the best way, in my opinion.

And then here's the thing... Pike's stuff doesn't have the right stakes to it, because the story didn't build up properly. The pay-off is honestly very good. So much about this is very good. But narratively, the reasoning for Pike having this crisis of faith feels very contrived and ill-considered, until we get the explanation. I needed more build-up, I needed more hints of where Pike's issues were coming from, what she needed to realize about herself.

So, essentially, Pike needs to learn that it's okay that she likes to play rough with her friends, go out drinking and brawling. There are so many paths to a holy and faith-filled life, and Pike needs to accept all of herself to be a good cleric of the Everlight. That's great! I loved that! But this stretches back into the set-up of the earlier episodes. We see one example of Pike having doubt/discomfort about her relationship to the Everlight, and that's when she's slightly awkward blessing that family's house in the first episode. Other than that, whenever she's needed her magic to work, it's worked. Sure, she can't save the boy in the first episode, but that's not framed as Pike's failure because of her relationship to her goddess, it's just framed as... well, she ran out of spell slots. When she needs to heal Grog and Vax, she can. When she needs to create shields and buff people's weapons with holy power, she can. She doesn't seem to have any actual issue with any of it, or feel any guilt after she drinks with Grog or swears or does any of the other "uncouth" things she's now saying she feels bad for.

My point is, the earlier episode says she needs to "apologize" but doesn't actually show Pike feeling conflicted about any of this behavior. Until this moment, when she explains to us what we should have been seeing all along. Am I going too hard on this relatively minor complaint? Probably. I think it's because Pike's absence in the story was originally a contrivance because of scheduling conflicts, and I wanted to feel like Pike getting her own subplot here was a necessity, something that added an aspect to the story, something that was earned. Instead, despite the good things about it which I'm about to turn to, it still ended up kind of feeling like a contrivance to me, like treading water to pad out a run time.

Pros:

But like I said, the Pike stuff is by no means bad, here, and the pay-off works for me even without the buildup being what I could have desired. To start, Ashley Johnson is a world-class voice actor and she kills it with Pike, giving so much gravitas to the circumstance even with a script that in my opinion fails to properly explain the stakes. And the visuals of her trying to commune with the Everlight are maybe the coolest design aspect of the show thus far? They get to take it to such an artistically gorgeous place, the goop pulling Pike in, the sharp contrast between the light and dark... man, it's great, it's beautiful. And the temple is beautiful too, such a cool setting that you can tell they put a lot of thought into. We also get a lot of Pike's strength of character, her stubbornness, which leads perfectly into the resolution of these different aspects of Pike's life.

The Everlight looks so cool, and the voice is so ethereal but also so grounded... you get the sense of the Everlight not as some benevolent one-note light goddess, but a fighter, one who will crack some skulls to do what's right. Quite a bit like Pike, in other words. And as I said above, the lesson Pike needs to learn is one I really appreciate, even if it wasn't built to the way I would have built to it. I loved this line from the goddess: "any path can be a holy one, so long as one walks it with truth." Pike can be a bit of a bruiser and goof off with Grog and still heal people and be a worthy acolyte of her deity. That's an awesome way of reconciling the way Ashley played Pike in the original version, and I think it makes for a decent build to what we'll see in the next episode with Pike. Bottom line, I have mixed feelings over all the Pike stuff since she split from the group in episode four, but those mixed feelings are by no means extreme or ruinous to my overall enjoyment.

And then the main story, the fight with Anders, holy shit.

They really go hard on Cassandra's injury! I love how Keyleth's way of healing has a distinctly different vibe from Pike. It shows that Keyleth is a bad-ass with endless potential, but how she doesn't have the same skill with healing as Pike does, and being here without their cleric has serious disadvantages. Keyleth requires various components and time and personal strength to complete what Pike could probably do by snapping her fingers. It's gruesome, the way we see Cass fall to the ground and gurgle for breath, Vax holding his hand to the wound while Keyleth gets the spell ready. And then the moment when Keyleth briefly thinks she's failed and then Cass gasps and sits up... the screaming and pointing... Keyleth's babbling and then hugging Cass then running off... it was such a perfect moment to introduce the briefest amount of levity in such a charged sequence of events. Bottom line, I love Kiki, she deserves the whole dang world, and she's saved the day once again!

There are so many aspects of the Anders combat that I loved, and I feel like I could talk about them all for paragraphs and paragraphs, so let's do a couple of rapid-fire bullet points.

- Percy's rage with Anders is fucking amazing. The switch from concern for Cass to "you son of a bitch" was stunning and then hits just keep on coming in the best way, him running into the room and realizing what Anders is now capable of. Percy fighting off those golems, big strong melee adversaries, with a fucking gun that can't even scratch them. Yikes!

- Vax to the rescue! I told you I was soft for these two together, and we get him running in, standing between Percy and the things that want to kill him, saying "we're in this together"... there's even a shot of them standing back to back facing down their foes, just as Grog and Vex catch them up. I'm living for it.

- Speaking of Grog and Vex, I love their fight out in the hall with the soldiers. Vex gets flirted with by a dude impressed with her shooting, and then proceeds to split his arrow and shoot him in the head. Hot. Grog smashes men's heads together to teach them a lesson about messing with his friends. He's such a sweetheart.

- We get to see how the group has gotten better at fighting as a team, when they realize the golem's weaknesses and start to take them out efficiently and without getting in each other's way, playing to the strength of the more finesse-type fighters like Vex, Vax, and Percy, while Keyleth (as Minxie) and Grog can pin the enemies down. (I love Grog and Vax here, Vax offering his assistance, Grog saying "don't you do nothing", Vax saying "don't get mad, big guy," and then kill-stealing from Grog, Grog saying "I hate your face so much." They're bestest friends, y'all.)

- And then of course, the escalation point! Anders using his creepy tongue to charm Grog and have him turn on his friends! I love that he primarily goes after Vax. The subplot where the two of them have this antagonism that edges into real dislike even though they're still family, feeding into this moment where Grog is instructed to "kill Vox Machina" and he really seems like he's trying to do so. We get Keyleth saying: "We're your friends, remember? We lo---" and getting cut off, trying to break through the mind control. I love that it doesn't work, though. I love that they can't talk their way out of this one.

- And then the whole group is bewitched, Keyleth and the twins and Grog all facing down Percy, Anders watching with sickening glee as Keyleth and Vex use a vine and arrows to pin Percy against the wall, ready to murder him... this was such a creepy image, I love the way Anders was able to talk through them. What a way of showing what a true villain this man is. He's not only willing to do bad things to get what he wants, he seems to relish in specifically torturing Percy in the process of killing him.

- After Percy gets the first shot on Anders, I loved the comedy of the gang chasing after the silver tongue. "What... the fuck?" "Get it, I guess?" And Grog scrambling around trying to stab this tiny little menace.

And now to come out of my poor attempt at "rapid-fire bullet points"... let's talk about that Anders kill, shall we?

We've seen Percy shoot a man's hand off, we saw the brutality of his kill on Stonefell, but this one tops everything. The flash of demonic furor in his eyes, the mask, the smoke rising up more intensely than we've ever seen it. Because of the flashback in the last episode, we really understand why this particular betrayal was so intense for Percy. "We trusted you... you betrayed us when we needed you most."

And of course, another one of those "Taliesin what the fuck you are very good at this" lines that everyone remembers from the stream: "You're the face I saw when murder entered my heart." YESSSS. God, he shoots the man's jaw off and then explodes his head and shoots him back out of a window. Talk about an epic kill. I was living for it. It shouldn't be hot, but we all know it's hot.

But then Cass says Percy's name, and he drops the gun and mask to the floor and runs to her which just murdered me dead on the spot. The tenderness. The forehead touch. Percy has a sister and I'm crying about it, okay?

We're also getting hints of the larger plan of the Briarwoods in this episode... a star chart showing the solstice. Something big is meant to happen in five days. I like how they're working in the A-plot but keeping things grounded entirely in character moments. Like, okay, they've got the necessary plot point of informing Archie and the resistance that the plan worked and Cass is safe. Instead of just running and telling them, you've got Keyleth sending the De Rolo crest up into the sky, giving hope to the people of Whitestone, showing Keyleth's growing confidence and power, Vex being terrified/impressed/(and turned on hehe let's be honest) by the display... so much is communicated while still propelling basic plot points forward.

We also get to check in with our Big Bad of the season, and by Big Bad I do in fact mean Lady Delilah Briarwood. I love the moment when Sylas asks "what are you doing" and Delilah says "protecting you." I think it's the strongest hint we've gotten so far that while Sylas is a bad-ass and he will fuck you up no questions asked, Delilah is the one to watch the fuck out for. Creepy pentacle, ruthless sacrifice of her poor steward (poor Matt Mercer, murdered yet again), creepy necromancy magic, and... a zombie hoard. Of course, Delilah. Like we don't have enough to deal with.

I liked the "You got Scanlan'd" song and the break in the tension. Scanlan sees Keyleth's symbol in the sky, then sees what he thinks are a couple of dudes hooking up in a doorway... once again appreciate that Scanlan is unambiguously queer in this adaptation. And then there's a hoard of undead, courtesy of Lady Briarwood. I loved this line: "Of course it's zombies, because fuck me, that's why."

Our episode ends with Scanlan warning the rest of the gang about the new threat heading their way. We see a shot from the sky, Keyleth's skywrite spell, and the ruined, dreary Whitestone beneath, the dead walking the streets and intent on destroying our heroes. I'm hella pumped!

I just don't even know how to tell you how thrilled I am that this show is good. Like, it's really good, right? I've gotten my sister into it and she has no prior investment in Critical Role and she's loving it so far. They are just doing such a great job with the intensity and the darkness but most importantly the characters, they all really truly feel like themselves and I'm so pleased about it, I can't even tell you. Onward to the last episode of this week's drop! I can't believe next week ends the season!

A Review on NCT 127′s 3rd Album <Sticker>

So NCT 127 just came back with their 3rd Full Album <Sticker> and this is my first 127 comeback since I became a fan last year! Neozone is such a special album for me as it was their first album that I explored entirely. I've known NCT as the group who never fails any expectations so I've kept mine up although I know they'll exceed it anyway. And guess what, they did! I absolutely love their new album hence this review~

This isn't a technical music review—as I am not a musician myself—but rather a listener's honest takes, goofy notes, and interpretation on each of the tracks in the album. I admit I've also struggled to build my own opinions on some of the tracks until I listened to them over and over again.

I have also heard there are mixed opinions on the title track <Sticker> and a lot says it's another acquired taste. But I think it's not just that, as it can be a grower, just like how most of NCT's songs were for me. Maybe after a few listens and a right passage of time, it will grow on those people. The bottom line here is, I like it a lot! 😛

So I listed down the songs according to their respective track numbers and followed each with a bulleted list of my opinions and interpretations.

1. Sticker

THEY DIDN'T JUST PUNCH A NEW NOTCH ON THE BELT LIKE THAT

THIS SONG SLAPS, LITERALLY SLAPS… AND WHIPS 

The recorder at the intro boyyyy I thought something was wrong but then I remember it’s NCT lmao

It already stuck in my head from my first listen from the Instagram audio.

With Taeyong opening the verse with his divine rapping, I knew I'm in for a new ride.

STICK-UH STICK-UGH STICK-UGHGHGH

To those complaining it sounding like noise music, imagine it sounding generic. I don't think it would fit as the title track. Not a b-track or in their repertoire, even. They are called NCT because they define the NEO in the music culture and music technology!

It honestly was an unorthodox, just like all of their title tracks, which I’m inherently here for.

Literally, no one does it like them!

The growls and the vocal flexes and adlibs! (You can tell it has Yoo Youngjin's brand.)

The crisp metronome sound that’s consistently ticking except for the pre-chorus and the dance break adds depth to the soundscape. I love how it’s used instead of the usual snaps.

The production quality blew my mind. Like how can someone think those melodies would sound so exquisite? CAN I CALL THEM GENIUS?

The piano at the back, oh my God—Yes! It adds this mystifying element to the song.

I'm not sure if it's a midi violin at the pre-chorus, but it added thrill to the song. It was a great transition from the bass line in the verses to the combination of the flawless harmony with the same instrumental.

"You treat me like a boy, like a grown-up child chasing a dream" JUNGWOO BABY NO MORE HUH

Taeil, Doyoung, and Haechan—the bridge vocal trinity!

But why the heck are they cowboys? I dig the concept, but why? LMAO

BTW GUNSLINGER MARK I’M ON MY KNEES YEEHAW

This is easily one of my favorite tracks from NCT 127's entire discography 💚

2. Lemonade

Jaehyun starting off this song with his deep voice eee

The song opens to a verse oozing with chill confidence. They're like, yeah you're lurking because we’re cool.

This is such a huge slap to their haters. NCT's not chillin' like a villain, nah they're the main characters!

Well maybe they’re villains, but still ya not cooler than them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Funny enough how they could have just referred haters as simply lemons whose sour/bitter to the taste, but 127 squad's success is sweeter than all the haters' spiteful remarks so yeah, SIPPY SIPPY LEMONADE 🧃

"WOOF"

I might have just barked too wOW

Yuta’s vocals hooooO his voice just sounds so glamorous mhmm

Also Mark referencing their previous title tracks such as: Firetruck, Cherry Bomb, and Regular (it's Irregular in the lyrics) in his rap part 👌💅

I just love Mark's energy when he raps. HE RESOLUTELY BITES AND STRAIGHT UP EATS EVERY TIME HE DOES.

3. Breakfast

Now breakfast time, oh jeez!

Summer 127's bestie!

If Summer 127 talks about dancing all night long, Breakfast is the morning after.

You know what it is.

"Even if I gulp and drink you, it's not enough for me." oho Taeyong no you ha—STOP

Sexual innuendos aside, isn't it just sweet if someone tells you they'd want to have breakfast with you every day?  Okay maybe I'm melting at the thought 😩🙈💞

And I can see myself dancing to this song as I make breakfast (in the afternoon or at midnight bc I’m crazy)

This was an okay b-track for me at the first skim on the album, but boy it grew on me wildly.

Honestly one of my favorite tracks in this album.

4. Focus

Did I just invade a private call? LMAO

The analog voice filters make it like so.

Dude, this feels intimate in the level of eavesdropping a phone call between seasoned lovers. Then you realize you hear them whispering their kinks over the line and you're ooh, that's sexy! hfgklhfhf

My first listen to this, I almost went feral because,

"I can't wait to eat you…" when it's actually "I can't wait 'til we chill…" aahaha

"Baby call me when you want me." OKAY!

This sounds relaxing and chill. I'd love to play this on a late night drive or just before bed time along with Fly Away With Me, Sun & Moon, My Youth, and Long Flight.

5. The Rainy Night

Ooh, the holy melancholy!

Piano at the intro—I knew I'd cry to this.

This song isn't just about break-up, but the heartbreak after one.

The yearning; the remnant pieces from the shattering of what was once there.

I think I crumbled from this one.

This hit so hard I felt like I fit in the shoes with the lyrics throughout the entire song.

What’s fascinating is I clearly forgot the title when I mentally said this sounds like a sad rainy day song from the first listen.

Something I’d turn up when it suddenly rains, just because I want to feel the blues.

Taeil and Haechan singing in lower register? I wanna cry :( they’re just one of the best vocalists in K-music industry right now.

Could have been also nice if they added Yuta to the vocals.

"My selfish heart who waits for you to come back," OKAY WHO HURT THEM?

And the fact that they sang it so good that it translated every ounce of the emotions well even before I looked up for English translations is the reason why I love this song too.

6. Far

Hmm… What the hell?! Do I like this? Wait...

Alright!

The jumpy vibe from the first verse to the pre-chorus set the mood for this song. It sounds merry and heavy. It was honestly too much to take until I’ve reached the chorus part.

Honestly, I think this song could fit NCT Dream better, as it gives off a vibe similar to Hello Future's b-tracks. If some credible source say this could have made HF’s track list, I might believe you too fast.

Also Dream’s Deja Vu where they go na nananananana na na na~

Playful yet confident! That’s what I mean!

As usual, the vocals are insane! Vocal flex from left to right!

I swear Jungwoo sounded a bit like Taemin at the second verse that I had to replay it hahaha

I love hearing Johnny as a vocalist! SM, how many signs do you need until you utilize his vocal talent???

Taeil's part where he sings, "go nuts, go nuts, 'til we go bust, go bust" IDEK BUT I SNORTED A LAUGH AT FIRST LISTEN HFCAHKFHK

Not my favorite, but still great though!

But wait it’s actually stuck in my head???

7. Bring The Noize

Yes, they never beat those noise music allegations

I love me some noisy percussions. AND THE BASS YO

This screams so much confidence!

The build up from the pre-chorus to the chorus—FIRE!

This song reminds me a lot of SuperM's Super Car, especially with the engine roar samples and the battle cry-like singing at the chorus.

JAEHYUN RAPPING? You mean Jaehyun the visual, the vocalist, the actor, the model, the funny dude, aka my everything?! (markie bb look pls look away for a moment)

THEY DELIVERED IT STRAIGHT FROM NEOCITY THAT'S SOME NCT MUSIC RIGHT THERE NO ONE DOES IT LIKE THEM

When I said I'd play Focus on a late night drive, and if I add this in the playlist, VROOM VROOM SPEED LIMIT WHAT

OUTTA MY WAY

“We got no shame” ouh TAEYONG’S FLOW IS JUST VERY HIM AND HE’S IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN

You know what's so clever about this song? It's how it ended with Mark's final rap without any instrumental, leaving you  standing there with a doppler effect-like post experience.

A super car on a super speed just whooshed past you and you look its way as it zips through the road. It's gone in an instant but you're floored dumbfounded at a sidewalk. That's how I describe this song.

8. Magic Carpet Ride

This song… Wow. Oh gosh it's so beautiful.

Their harmony in the chorus—it makes me want to kiss someone so passionately that I'd cry.

This makes me want to feel love that transcends the universe. Literally, just please take me on a magic carpet ride :(

The background harmonies too oh my goodness—HEAVENLY.

Jaehyun's voice is so warm and soulful it fits perfectly with songs of this genre.

Okay alright Doyoung Grande!

And Taeil makes me feel like I'm listening to old school R&B.

The first time I heard this from the track video, I can't stop replaying because it's just that great.

This makes me want to love. I think that sums it up.

9. Road Trip

This is such a soothing song for me, especially how I easily become nostalgic thinking about the road trips I've had.

Whenever I listen to this, my brain immediately conjures up thoughts of my ideal getaways. Gazing at the sky through the car window, stirring up from a nap in the middle of the ride, and   eventually reaching your destination.

Oh, to travel around anywhere... (curse you covid-19)

Okay that's it. I'M PACKING UP.

But where do I go—

I could also imagine Mark playing this on the guitar and the other members sing along together, something like that.

Just Wholesome™ vibes.

I love how it evokes such a nice emotion within me effortlessly.

This isn't my favorite, but I still love this.

10. Dreamer

Eyyyy such a refreshing song!

This song is so bright it makes me want to dance. I play this first in the shower!

It reminds me so much of Elevator (from Neozone)

The horns make it more lively I think!

Yuta and Jungwoo's voice suits lively songs like this.

The background vocal in low register in Taeyong's part in the first verse is so good ahhfhf

Taeil, the R&B vocal king you are...

There's this part where Doyoung and Johnny harmonized, that at first listen they seemed to clash, but it sounded actually fine after a few listens. Maybe it's just that I've never heard them do it before.

And I think it's Doyoung's laugh at the end of the bridge? Oh my goodness I really love this too!

11. Promise You

MY FIRST LOVE AND MOST FAVORITE SONG IN THE ALBUM!!!

The first time I heard this from their NCIT Sharehouse Sitcom, I fell in love with the song already.

It sounds like something you'd feel from a warm, welcoming hug.

The lyrics are so beautiful and endearing. It's definitely a be-there-for-you type of song that will touch your heart.

It definitely sounds like a promise.

A song about platonic intimacy.

This really fits to be the closing song of the album. It's like the end of it but holds a promise that says “see you soon.”

Because they cherish their fans like that.

It's also like I've watched a movie with a happy ending, where the camera pans up to the clear sky and this song starts playing.

Speaking of ending, I would love to hear them sing this as an encore stage in their concert. You know, that moment just before the stage lights die down at the end of the concert where they send final blows of flying kisses to NCTzens. Then you come home smiling and crying.

This wasn't supposed to be this long since I originally planned to write this with just simple phrases and emojis but I got too engrossed lol. I also meant to include my own ratings but I figured it’s pointless since I can’t really decide about them hahaha

I really enjoyed the whole album and I love how they're progressively defining what NEO means by breaking through standards. It's not NCT music if it doesn't make you say "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?" But then you realize it’s stuck in your head and you’re enjoying it already.

I’m sorry but who in their right minds think because you don’t agree with someone’s actions or you don’t like their project, makes you a hater or not a real fan?? What the hell? I swear these “Jensen fans” have lost their minds and the ability to have their own opinions. If people can call out Ariana Grande’s questionable actions and not support her makeup line, but still be fans of her, what makes those anons think Jensen is excluded from that? You don’t have to like his prequel just to be a fan of him and you don’t have to like his music to be a fan of him (I only like a few of the songs from the first album and I don’t like the prequel). You don’t have to like everything he does and says to be considered a true fan, and if someone told y’all otherwise, then they’re not real fans and they shouldn’t be able to dictate what makes someone a fan or not. I know a lot of Jared fans who didn’t like Walker and didn’t want to watch it, but they like the prequel and would rather watch that instead. That doesn’t make them any less fans of Jared. I even saw a few saying they prefer Gilmore girls over spn, that doesn’t mean they’re not fans of him. And same with normal Jensen fans; many don’t like Ten Inch Hero or Dark Angel, but they’re still fans of him. Y’all need to get off the high horse with thinking y’all are better than others, because you blindly stan him, and blindly stanning a celebrity isn’t a healthy mindset.

Completely agree!! It’s okay to not like something someone you are a fan of/admire has done. You don’t have to like everything to be a true fan. Sometimes I think some of them pretend to like it because they think it’s what Jensen would want. That there is being fake and it would be something Jensen wouldn’t want. What he would want is someone to be honest. Acting is basically in his blood considering his father was an actor. He knows that sometimes people may not like the roles he has done. I am sure there are a few he didn’t like himself. He is not going to be offended if someone didn’t like a movie or show he was in. Example I am a fan of Ryan Reynolds but I hated Green Lantern. Does that make me less of a fan? No it doesn’t. I mean even Ryan himself hated it. I adore Jared but not interested in Walker or the Walker prequel it’s not my cup of tea. I know there are tons of Jared fans who feel the same. It doesn’t make them any less of a fan. It’s fans who say otherwise that make us normal Jensen fans cringe. I feel like sometimes I need to create a guide to being a normal Jensen Ackles fan. Cause some of these so called “fans” could use a lesson in it. Euphoria didn’t break records in season 1 because people watched it for the other cast members when no one even knew them. Euphoria got so popular on twitter because the amount of love Zendaya gets on that app which made people subscribe to HBO just for Zendaya. Zendaya is the most popular actor right now and this person above hates on her to the point they think she’s not the one bringing in the people. This person above and their anon always makes tom to be this guy that brings people to watch his movies when that’s no the case and they always say that he is so popular so if he is how come people don’t care for what he does outside of spiderman? She also mentioned that people got obsessed because of Maddy’s makeup completely forgetting that Men who don’t do makeup watch this show? There’s so many movies and show that have an amazing cinematography but that isn’t bringing in watchers is it? No. These haters can’t fathom that Zendaya brings in people to watch her no matter what shit she’s on. As if there isn’t multiple virals tweets saying that they wouldn’t have watch this show if Zendaya wasn’t in it. Funny thing is she said people care about Rue the least but wasn’t she the number one most mentioned character on Euphoria on twitter? We keep mentioning her Emmy because she is the youngest lead actress in a show to win an Emmy and that’s an accomplishment. Zendaya is critically acclaimed actress no matter how much they try to dismiss that. Also what’s with this obsession of them saying Zendaya is the one who needs this pr more than him? She’s a household name no matter where she is she’s trending number and people will do anything to watch what she’s on but can’t say the same for someone else who needed this pr far more then her.
