sorry i am willing to give aziraphale the benefit of the doubt to a point but. to say that CROWLEY abandoned HIM? like. what did you want him to do. yall want crowley to go back to heaven? to make himself an angel again??? go back to the assholes that cast him out and change everything he is??? crowley was angry and mean and inarticulate and pushy in that fight but he was not WRONG.
(related: I have no idea why everyone's suddenly decided that crowley doesn't give a shit about saving the world. he's against working with heaven and hell obviously, but he was the one who wanted to stop the apocalypse in the first place. he only tried to jump ship last time when: 1) the end was only hours away, 2) from his POV he had no idea where the antichrist was or that aziraphale had found him, and 3) he was being actively hunted by people who were planning to torture and destroy him. that's not the case in s2. you can't just heap fault on him to make this a 'both sides are wrong' thing so it's easier to fix. his words were "you can't leave this bookshop." that's not something you say if you plan to leave the bookshop.)
aziraphale is walking into an obvious trap because of his skewed views about heaven and hell and that is the truth of it. it's a mistake. he's not a 'bad person' for it because people aren't BAD for making mistakes, but the idea that crowley needs to apologize to him for not wanting to go back to heaven is fucking ludicrous. it was a horrible thing to ask of him, good intentions or not. that's it.
imagine if crowley had told aziraphale "hey great news! we can be grand dukes of hell together and really make a difference. all you have to do is become a demon :)" like. aziraphale would have been furious. and rightfully so! what is the disconnect here i am baffled

do y'all remember the slew of headcanons back in 2019 about aziraphale and the library of alexandria and that one heart-rending comic where hastur burns it down and crowley's almost too late to rescue aziraphale? i'm having Strong emotions about it again
like i truly adore the idea of aziraphale getting all involved with the library of alexandria - setting off little bursts of divine inspiration every which way, translating texts that no one else would ever have been able to read - but i ALSO love the idea that it was one of the few projects that he and crowley could actually openly work on together, because crowley gets sent up from hell to immortalize typos, misshelve divine texts, and make the hardest working scholars indolent in their pursuits, what have you.
i like to think that they both finagled their way into the assignment because they both admire the way humans happily threw away their limited lifespans for the good of all future mankind. and maybe they even enjoyed their work for a change, since they really wouldn't have to Do Anything; the typos and fleeting bursts of inspiration and the dedication and burnout would all happen anyway. they could just hang out and read and reminisce and fantasize about future generations absorbing ancient knowledge.
and then the warehouses burn for some stupid war. all that hard work goes up in smoke, and in the end the only true testaments humanity has left to its infancy are aziraphale and crowley, who can do nothing about that.
the way the light would have died in aziraphale's eyes even as the embers reflected in them like sunlight off a blade.
the way rage would have melted the lenses off of crowley's face like scales falling from his eyes.
the way they might have spent drunken evenings tried to recreate the secrets of human innovation from memory, re-capture the inner thoughts of philosophers and alchemists and worshippers long dead. the way they would have always failed.
yeah i have feelings about that.

Crowley, my dear, are you listening?
Tumblr media
"Even if the mere uttering of these words stretch the limits of your patience, I've always thought of you to be nice. Gentle. Different from the others.
Then why must you unveil such cruelty, Crowley?
Bluntly offering the affection and devotion I've craved from you ever since I bore witness of your creations. Oh, how I wished to be even a speckle of your crafted stars; how I still want to.
Now you press against me.
And I pushed, and pushed, and pushed, waiting for the blazing fire in me to consume my whole corporation and for the fall to come. Such a Fallen I've become, betraying the very sense of morality build up on the pearly gates.
Perhaps falling wouldn't have been such a horror. At least I would've stood by your side. I could've held you, kept your embrace.
But then again, what has simplicity been but a phantom of our history?
So once more I pushed, until your presence and the warmth wrapped all around me slipped from my fingers.
I reckon someday you'll understand the meanings of my leave. Although having been tempted to sins, by you no less, nothing will ever feel as guilty as not letting you know I'm doing this for the sake of you. Of us.
I never meant any harm, even if you'd argue the opposite, though I'd easily give myself into retreat knowing the words that can not be taken back. After all, it's not as if you could've seen the mirror I was looking at.
If you ever wish to see me again, will your eyes be full of disdain? Have I become like any other angel to you?
I've never been one to seek for answers, but shall I get one, may my last wish be that it doesn't break me apart.
Or, on the very least, I beg that my end shall be done by my only love."

Magical Girl Yuu's First Day pt 4
“Listen dude, I don't know what kind of cult thing you’ve got here and at this point I don't care. I just need to get back home before my mentor freaks out.”
This time it really isn't Yuu’s fault she got lost!
“Cult?! Night Raven College is the most prestigious school in all of Twisted Wonderland!”
“Cool story bro. You still kidnapped me.”
“The black carriage does not kidnap – !”
“The what?”
So according to Birdman all students are recruited via some spooky carriage and horse that Yuu does not remember seeing.
Actually she can't remember anything of how she got here. The day was Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday?  She had been getting ready for… something important. Something that had the adult magica gearing up. Yuu remembers a sense of urgency, this had been different from the usual fiend attacks.
What happened? Did something go wrong?
For the first time since waking up Yuu feels truly scared.
Panic rises as she tries to go over what enemies could have the power to transport someone while fogging their memories.
Meanwhile!
Totally oblivious to Yuu’s mental crisis, Birdman was reaching his own conclusions.
“... truly weren't meant to be here then that could explain why you couldn't be sorted. I suppose there's nothing for it. Step back in front of the mirror, young man.”
Finally Crowley looks back at the child, Yuu, and takes in his state.
One hand is tugging at his hair while the other grips his strange magic pen. The boy’s eyes are unfocused and he rocks his weight back and forth from one foot to the other.
Hmm.
Hmmmmmmm.
That’s probably not good. If only Crewel were here to deal with this instead.
Remembering the damage from earlier, Crowley approaches cautiously. He keeps an eye on the hand holding the oversized pen and grasps Yuu’s shoulder in a clawed grip.
Yuu does a full body jolt but listens when Crowley tells him to approach the mirror again
*Return to sender!*
Nothing happens.
Yuu’s anxiety is getting out of control, so she tries channeling it towards something more productive. Specifically anger.
This mirror!
First he calls her a freak, now he's saying her home doesn't exist.
“I cannot discern –”
“Well, is there anything you do know? Or should I do this place a favor and break you out of that frame!”
For the record, Yuu wasn't actually going to break the mirror. Squakface still wasn't willing to risk it as he dragged her out of the room.
Crowley guides Yuu to the library where they spend some time looking for references to her home city Duskfront.
Eventually Yuu asks what the books are referring to when they say Twisted Wonderland.
After some more back and forth Crowley concludes that Yuu must be from another world.
Yuu is like okay bro, a likely story.
She’s still concerned this might be a plot, and thinks it's pretty convenient that they happen to be on an isolated island.
Crowley suggests that they shelve this for now and he offers to house Yuu in an unused dorm.
Yuu is not having it and tries to walk out, determined to swim back home if she must.
Crowley protests, despite the many complaints from both students and staff alike Crowley does in fact have a sense of responsibility. And while this particular student is, for whatever reason, unsortable, he cannot allow a student to just walk out. Not even one as unruly as Yuu.
Yuu really, really, doesn't want to be alone with her thoughts waste any time, but she understands this isn't the type of situation you can just bully your way out of. So with gritted teeth Yuu finally hisses out, “fine!”
Birdface is leading her far away from the main building.
Really far.
How big is this campus?
Finally they reach a derelict building that may at one point have been a dormitory.
“It's a little old, but a building with such character is suitable for such a rambunctious young man.”
“Why do you keep calling me that?”
“Calling you what? Rambunctious? I’d say it's rather accurate.”
“No. Young man. I'm not a guy.”
“What?”
Yuu loosens the sash holding her outfit and pulls back the outer robe to reveal modest, but still visible, breasts.
“WHAT!”
I was going to make it longer but I decided to split the final into two parts and give you this now. Sorry about the long wait (╥_╥). I'm kinda disappointed by how close to canon I've been but I know there will be big opportunity for change later. Specifically with the ghosts.
Ive been thinking about writing some drabbles or trying to draw out some scenes, turns out even making a short comic is hard. Im working on a short piece about the mine based more on the manga than the game. I'll focus on that after the last part of Yuu's first day, but might also do some smaller posts as well.

As much as I love the idea of Crowley having been an 'important' and 'powerful' angel, I also fundamentally don't.
I love all the theories that wonder if he was Raphael, an angel built to help humanity, or even if he used to be Lucifer, but I think it's so important that he was no one.
To me, Crowley wasn't anyone important. He was simply an angel who questioned too many things, and then became a demon with an imagination. The message Crowley received from heaven (intentional or not) was 'You dared to question the divine plan, if you were considered important to us or had anyone to help you, we might have left you off with a warning, but instead you must fall to hell with the rest of them.' Meanwhile the Archangel Gabriel was allowed to leave. Yes, he had both Aziraphale and Crowley (not to mention Beelzebub) to help him, but at the end of the day, he was important enough to be left alone.
The entire point of heaven and hell is not that either is more correct in their doing, but rather that they have two sides that will fight each other until the end of the world. Both sides need people wishing they were 'important enough' not to be discarded, and I think that Crowley understands this more than anyone else.
He always had his opportunities to prove to heaven that he was good enough by his work alone, just as he had his opportunities to prove to hell that he was bad enough, and did (albeit mostly by taking credit for what humanity did on their own, or providing humanity with the temptation to do little things.) But because he never fully lived up to the potential of being important enough before he began questioning the plan, he fell.
It wasn't until he (along with Aziraphale) proved that each other was dangerous enough to be left alone that they were respected. (Hated, but respected.) Of course, this was only achieved by them tricking each side into thinking they had the right one. When they were no longer hated after the Gabriel debacle, they were both asked to rejoin their respective 'sides,' Crowley by being higher in position than he had ever been, and Aziraphale by finally becoming an archangel. It's everything either of them should have wanted, and Aziraphale, blinded by his wish to finally be important and desire to fix the system, took it.

If there is not already, I NEED someone to write a fic about the hot gossip that's going around Soho after S2.
Like A.Z. Fell and Co probably already has a somewhat interesting reputation but after all of S2 that Tea must have taken a whole new dimension.
You just know there is at least someone spreading the rumor that Mr. Fell had dealings with the Mafia and was involved with drugs (hence why nobody clearly remembers what happened that night). Someone else probably is of the opinion that the bookshop is just a front for some weird queer Kink Club and a third person is very convinced the bookshop was the headquarters for a cult. (And ofc someone has to believe Mr. Fell was actually a vampire)
Let's think about it for a second. The whole shop is already strange enough even without the interestingly written opening hours . But then a naked man shows up, then a person cosplaying a way too white version of an old school cop , THEN a meeting is held there of which nobody can remember what truly happened and THEN the owner just disappears without notice and the strange cop takes over the shop.
There has to be some very interesting gossip/conspiracy theories making the rounds.

not sure i know how to phrase this properly but OF COURSE beelzebub and gabriel got to be happy when crowley and aziraphale didnt within the context of the story . we're assuming gabirel and beelzebub only started meeting up post not-doomsday right ?? they were meeting up in secret to discuss how it might be better if there wasnt a war- they're already talking plainly about their respective sides and how their lives would be easier if they weren't on those sides and in charge . they both have more power than crowley and aziraphale . neither of them are trying very hard to fit into the mould thats been established because they're in charge of it to some degree . of course aziraphale, who has 6000+ years of 'must protect crowley' hardwired into him is going to prioritize crowleys safety over what either of them want (or what he thinks is going to keep crowley safest at least lol) . of course he doesnt run away with crowley . hes spent 6000+ years pretending they dont even KNOW eachother because it wasnt safe for them to be seen doing anything together . gabriel and beelzebub love eachother yes but they dont have nearly the same stakes as aziraphale and crowley do in their relationship . how many times has it been made clear to us exactly how dangerous the consequences are if either crowley or aziraphale were found to be together ???? those consequences don't exist at all for gabriel and beelzebub . of course they got to be happy and crowley and aziraphale didnt .

neat how in the book, crowley is at his lowest when he finds the burning bookshop. he always tries to maintain his Very Cool Guy persona but when he's in the bookshop he's literally described as being as far from Cool as can be. when he's very sad and very pissed off about his closest friend being gone.
