One of the reasons I loved doing Kuchipudi (south indian dance form) isn't because of the actual dance itself but the fact that my teachers always knew exactly what to teach a student based on their eyes.

Like for example my teacher gave me a lot of love based dances because she used to be like "I always love that you have that sparkle in your eye"

And I think that's really poetic and pretty to think of like, so many years of perfecting a dance form that you can decipher what a student wants to learn solely based on their eyes.
