if you're still doing this meme: ☕️ villain you'd use for a new Tim arc, either pulled from past Rogues or designed fresh?
hehe ofc!
let's see:
if i wanted to pull from a past arc, i think i'd honestly bring back king snake--honestly given he was the villain in robin i, i think he'd be a good choice to orient tim as an adult clashing with him again--(and by my quick look on the dc wiki, they really haven't used him so extensively and changed him so much that you couldn't quietly bring him back for tim). do a story that calls back to that tim he was killing people & putting them in robin suits. except whereas his first story had lady shiva & when king snake returned tim had bruce, now tim is old enough that he can finally handle king snake on his own.
if i were to create a new one? well, my first idea would call back to my firm belief that if tom taylor was going to create a villain who learned to kill because of dick's parents' death that should have been a solid dick & tim story...how you gonna do a dark mirror of tim's origin story & not go into how meaty that could be for all three of them? so i find i like the idea of a villain, somewhat like heartless, that shares a point of commonality of tim but goes in the opposite direction (dare i say....someone like hush my beloathed. but doesn't suck?). like, oooh. i almost like the idea of another circus goer who, just like tim, took a picture with dick that day, who also figured out who dick was but kept it to themselves. but whereas tim's life went the route of the extraordinary, this kid's life didn't. & as they they both get marked by increasing tragedy--parental strife due to witnessing a death at the circus, death of a parent (this would also be a good place to showcase how and why the drakes' marriage started to fall apart & look into tim's past a bit). there'd be increasing bitterness at tim stealing what should his mind starts twisting into what should have been his life he starts to get more bitter and personal about it.
or like. hm. a villain who starts targeting old classmates of tim's? a couple of strangers show up dead--tim investigates & realizes they were in the same class at gotham heights, then someone brentwood, then louis grieves...so on and so forth. in his investigation of the deaths, tim has to come across his old friends & we can then reintroduce them as tim realizes the killer is following his trajectory through his high school career. and it turns out it was a teacher who got shuffled through gotham's various schools with all the messes that went on & was just targeting random old students. or something. so tim has to save his old friends, we successfully re-introduce them...
i just like the idea of a villain bringing tim back to basics + going from there, clearly lol.

Creepypasta: Ted the Caver (2001)
youtube
There was a season of Are You Scared? that presented some actual famous creepypasta (pasta? pastas?), and I was so giddy about it. I love creepypasta and Weird Internet Fiction, and I recognized all the famous ones right off the bat; the moment there was a season preview and a cave was mentioned, I KNEW. So the episode with "Ted the Caver" instantly became one of my favorites ("GET IN THE FUCKING CAVE, TEDDY!!"). But it also kills me that the show presents the final installment as if it's the whole story: just one spooked, caveless guy wandering around meebling about his spelunking obsession. Buddy, there is SO MUCH caving in the full version, you don't even know. There is NONE MORE CAVING:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Note: The original Angelfire site still works, but while I was researching this, I started running into malware. As such, I'm going to also link you to an unofficial mirror of the site at a creepypasta wiki.]
But I get it: there's no way to read the entire story aloud for a half-hour show. It was originally published as an unassuming hobbyist blog in 2001, and "Ted the Caver" is partly so effective because it is genuinely just an amateur caving blog for about 10,000 words. My understanding is that the author really is a caving enthusiast—I mean, he'd have to be, because the story is filled with actual photos of him and a friend chipping their way through a hole the size of a baseball into a cave they dub "Floyd's Tomb." So this was a real expedition... that the author wrote a delightful little spoop around.
Honestly, the real horror for me isn't even the Descent-style Something that seems to be living down there; it's the genuine terror of these fools squeezing themselves through eight-inch openings into the bowels of the earth, God bless. You can tell the mundane aspects are absolutely true to life, because the squeezing and the scraping and the panic—I'll just stop there, in case anyone has any phobias, claustro or otherwise. If I didn't before, I do now.
But it also has to be noted, "real horror" is what "Ted the Caver" is all about: the horror of a story backed up by reams of accurate detail and told through a really, really basic-ass Angelfire website. (I say this lovingly, as someone who had a shitty Geocities site herself.) It truly looks like it's just someone's blog—because that's mostly what it really is. Who wrote it? Well, an actual guy named Ted:
Well, I guess it’s time I add my two cents to the topic. My name is Ted and I am the author of the story you have been discussing. I am the original author. I created the story on my own and copied no one
...he wrote, in response to a plagiarism accusation (turns out the other guy copied him, and closely at that).
Between December 30, 1999 and February 24, 2000 Brad and I worked on a passage in Freeway cave. We made numerous trips, and spent many hours of hard work, before we were finally able to get through the opening and into the new section of cave. During the course of our adventure I kept a caving journal and documented our activities surrounding our attempts to be the first people to enter the new passage. Since we were giving friends and family members updates as we worked, I thought it would be a good idea to put my entire journal on a web page, along with our pictures, then we could simply refer people to the site. The thought then occurred to me: It sure would be fun to embellish the story a little!
Ted hasn't given his full name, but he is an actual Ted, it seems. And honestly, as much as I would like him to be credited as openly as Eric Heisserer is for "The Dionaea House," it really works in the story's favor that it's so difficult to figure out who wrote it. Not to spoil you, but the story told by the blog, much to Shane and Ryan's frustration in the video above, ends in a single puff of irony:
See all of you soon, with a lot of answers! Love, Ted
Magnificent. Because, let's face it: if a cave monster really did eat trap and eat your friend, isn't this what it would look like? No silly explanation for how a video camera somehow made it back to his friends and family from, like, the center of the fucking earth through a hole the size of a cantaloupe. No, your man there is just gone. And he's given enough detail in previous entries for you to imagine that what he finally came face to face with down there is Not Good. That's enough.

PRELIMINARY POLL 2: THE OWL HOUSE
hello owl house fandom! out of all the ships you guys submitted, soba and i have narrowed it down to these three: aladarius, huntlow, and raeda. as per a previous post where we said we'll only be letting a maximum of 2 ships per fandom into the tournament, we're doing this poll to determine which ship(s) will represent your fandom. we haven't fully finalised the shortlisted ships yet, so based on the results either the top 1 or top 2 ships will be selected
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also let us know if you guys have any preferred images for your ship(s)! i just plucked these from the shipping fandom wiki
propaganda for the ships are under the cut!
-mod deli 🎀
Aladarius:
Ahhhhhh, so many thoughts; where to begin? Well, first off, they were absolutely childhood friends and were practically attached at the hip for years and years. When they finally started dating around mid to late teens, they literally only changed labels and that was it. After a falling out and a messy breakup (and y'know alador getting married to someone else), it seemed like all was lost. after all, they were desperately trying to lessen contact with stark animosity between them. but after the day of unity, everything changed. with character arcs and divorce papers galore and maybe they began on speaking terms. and then friendly terms. and then back to where they were before, bickering like an old married couple. and then *being* an old married couple. yeah. gotta love the magical slime dilfs ◡̈
Huntlow:
They’re just. SO CUTE!! Hunter develops a crush on Willow first. When they first met, he was just looking to recruit more people into the emperor’s coven, and he thought she and some others would be a good fit. They played flyer derby together (a sport in the demon realm), and it was the first time he’d actually been able to have fun with people his age. His original plan was still in play so Willow and the others on the team got taken and put into custody so they could be put into the emperor’s coven. However, at this point Hunter felt incredibly bad. In the end, he broke the rules and got them out of there. He was prepared to be hated, but Willow and the others forgave him. I think at this point is when he started developing feelings for her. This guy, who talks so much people can see through his disguises because of his voice, will get SO quiet and blushy when she’s nearby. He knew there was an illusion when the illusion acted scared and shy because he saw her as the strong, courageous witch she is. She saw his cringe outfits and cosplay and took a picture for her scrapbook and called it a look. She winked at him and he blushed and smiled this goofy smile. When she finally broke down after trying to keep a brave face for the others, he comforted her. I think somewhere around here she started developing feelings too. They held hands!!! She said “you mean a lot to me too”!!! They mean so much to me.
Raeda:
NONBINARY REPRESENTATION DISABILITY REPRESENTATION TOGETHER AND HAPPY IN THE END They met as kids and got along from the start. They barely knew each other and still defied the orders of a representative of the EMPEROR so they wouldn't fight each other (they literally DANCED on the face of authority together. They eventually became lovers and broke up. Many years later found each other again and still loved each other so so much. I'm gonna repeat myself, but a disabled, chronically ill character and a nonbinary carachter have a friends to lovers story with a happy ending in a DISNEY ANIMATION. What else could you want?

Toga seems to avoid killing when possible
Especially when it comes to heroes, even select heroes after Twice’s death
(Spoiler warning)(Toga meta and Quirk Theory)
In Bnha Toga Himiko has had multiple chances to personally kill many individuals, including Ochako and Tsuyu but for some reason she never strikes a fatal blow.
I think this adds and plays into the conflict that she’s currently having in recent chapters using Twice’s Quirk, a part of why she’s not able to use it to the fullest extent.
Starting with all the examples of Toga’s avoidance of critical hits:
Tumblr media
(Very easy cut available here.)
The first instance of Toga not following through ^, here in the first conflict between the three girls, the forest training camp arc.
While true that she did try to cut Ochako’s facial area, possibly implying a fatal hit, I think coupled with this ^ and all the other instances (especially with Ochako), Toga was possibly aiming for the cheek.
The next example came later in the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc:
Tumblr media
(Camie seems extremely fine ^)
Toga impersonated Camie, a hero student from another school, to get into the Hero license exam.
Drugging her so Toga could take her blood, Camie was asleep for four days and when she woke up, didn’t remember anything and as shown by the picture above (from the/stated by the Bnha Wiki) she “doesn’t care”.
There wasn’t much reason for Toga to kill or not kill Camie, the mission could have been completed either way as nobody realized anything was suspicious or discovered the real Camie in that timeframe.
But Toga went with the latter option.
(Side Point: I don’t think that body disposal could have been a problem either thanks to Kurogiri’s Quirk, if Toga went with the kill option, as Kurogiri was captured during the Shie Hassaikai Arc after the License Exam Arc/Camie mission.)
Next example Rock Lock:
Tumblr media
Toga, with the help of Twice, very easily takes out the Pro Hero Rock Lock during the Shie Hassaikai Raid.
But not kills, despite the fact that she could have easily stabbed him in the throat.
Keeping the Hero silent wasn’t an issue, as Toga would have had his mouth covered either way as shown above and while Rock Lock was only stabbed in his side but was still unable to warn his Comrades about Switch going on when they entered the room, the results would have been the same.
But still no kill.
Bnha games provide evidence too, only with Civilians instead of heroes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While this could be seen as merely creating a distraction, I think a dead or very close to dying body would have gotten a similar response from the heroes, maybe even more so than a “knocked out passerby with a little blood loss”.
The logistics of this example are a bit iffy but I think it does add more weight to the overall point.
Cut ahead to the Final Arc:
Tumblr media
(Toga landing a stab on Ochako’s back shoulder ^)
There’s no reason Toga couldn’t have gone for the back of the neck or upper spine/center back here, and at this point in the story there’s no reason for her not too.
Toga had already been rejected by Ochako (though Ochako did later have a “change of heart”, wherever that may lead) so there weren’t any of her blood/love related reasons to miss the kill shot unless there still are lingering feelings or the kill isn’t really what she wants.
I think it’s both in this case.
Same with Tsuyu soon after:
Tumblr media
(Tsuyu seemed okay in the moments/chapters following this ^)
This doesn’t seem hostile at all, of course I mean after the initial take down.
The same instances come and go with the same results in Toga’s actions not to kill certain people, even after Twice’s death.
Although that being said, Toga does still definitely kill others, those who are a threat to her and the Lov’s existence.
The other Pro Heroes on the battlefield (Post Twice death, giving rise to Toga’s very justified belief that the heroes will kill her and all the people she cares about) and the civilians in the way/part of hero society’s system (I again say that’s not a problem as 90% of the Bnha Civilians are still awful).
So while I don’t think that Toga has a problem with the concept of killing, I think it might have more to do with her targets.
Why can’t Toga use Twice’s Quirk to its full power?
Tumblr media
A number of reasons coming together I think, including but not limited to this ^ one.
Loving and the desire to become (the person Toga is turning into) are necessities to the full power of Toga’s Transformation Quirk.
Toga usually does need some form of love for the person who’s blood she takes and then in that way knowing enough about them to function properly in the transformation but I do think that the idea that “Toga’s power is more based around the intent to become that person” makes slightly more sense when looking at Toga’s Nature.
With Toga wanting an “easier life” and the bonds/happiness that come with it, so she zeroes in on people she believes have the qualities/lifestyle that she wants.
But another part of why Toga can’t use the Twice quirk might be because of the targets of her current battle, tying back into the ‘Toga avoids killing sometimes’ point.
Ochako and Tsuyu being the Heroes she’s fighting and needing to be in conflict with, with the clones stating that “All Hero must die!”, and with that intent not being what Toga really wants.
Toga’s “Pure Love” (though bloody) isn’t to kill others, at least not them.
Current Chapter Spoilers: I think the resent leaks help this theory even more at least for now, as any of the clones could have killed Tsuyu when they had her tied up and the real Toga could have stabbed Ochako center or a little higher, hitting more vital organs.
Also Ochako will be fine; Bakugo survived a Rivet stab in roughly the same area (and several other places) running him through completely, even kept fighting for a while despite the blood loss, so no worries.

Can I request headcanons please 🥺 What if Dante and his loved one made it to old age? What would the scenario be like between Dante, and his s/o who is now enjoying their retirement? I imagine they didn't have children, just two old people together, through all the good and bad times.
Speaking of retirement, I think Dante still could do his demons hunting job even when his love is a grandma/grandpa if he wanted lol. Half-demon hax you know.
I love this!! So, in one of my stories I had with Dante, this was definitely something I thought about while writing it, so I’m more than happy to show you some of my headcannons:
Dante in his 60s:
Granted Dante would more than likely not look physically older (taking into reference how he looks in DMC5), I feel there’d be noticeable physical limitations as he gets older. Thinking of a timeline that’d take place let’s say 20 years after DMC5 (wiki says he’s in his mid 40s, so let’s imagine him in his mid 60s), I feel his body wouldn’t be as resilient as it was back then, and that despite maintaining his powers and whatnot, he’d still have some human limitations due to old age.
I don’t know if he would keep up being a devil hunter by this time, especially since I think that’d very much depend if Vergil would still be in the picture. In my mind, I feel Dante would grow tired of hunting devils or the job would simply not be fun or worth the hassle anymore at this point.
Of course, if he does maintain the job, I can definitely see him being less active, or taking smaller jobs that aren’t even that related to the supernatural, just to stay in business.
The Dynamic:
Depending how old his S/O would be in this, I can see Dante and them going on little dates after jobs, or if Dante gives up the devil hunting career, I can see the two of them still being active in their own way, by travelling to places without worrying about demons lurking, or having stay-at-home dates like movie nights, homemade dinner dates, or ordering take out together and enjoying a nice relaxing bath together.
Also, considering his S/O’s durability if they’re human, I can see Dante taking hold of household chores and activities because he can see that his partner is growing more frail and weaker than he could possibly become at this age, and he wouldn’t want his partner to strain themselves in things he could potentially do with a lot more ease. But I can also see him being sneaky about it, making up various excuses as to why he needs to do that instead of them, just so his partner doesn’t feel bad about growing old or losing the capacity to do a few things they could do before. Things like “Well it was your birthday a week ago, why not make it your birthday month so I can do all the chores for our birthday star?” or “You made me lunch the other day, so let me make it up to you” and stuff like that.
Final Thoughts:
Overall I think it could be a really peaceful time, and even if Dante does maintain his role as a devil hunter, I can see him learning how to take care of both things without neglecting one or the other, and always prioritizing his partner at the end of the day, and keeping the romance alive by buying little gifts and trinkets and with attitudes that always make his partner know they’re loved and cared for.

Disney's The Gremlins Over the Years
Chapter 1: Gremlins (Part 1)
Due to the recent events with Epic Mickey Rebrushed, I thought of making a series of posts dedicated to Disney's infamous characters from the canceled WWII movie The Gremlins. The character designs of these guys have changed many times during the concept art process and over the years. Today, this is a collection of male Gremlin designs. The female Gremlins were called the Fifinellas, which I will get to them in the next post. For those discovering this, in summary, Disney was making WWII movies and shorts for the war effort. They were going to adapt Roald Dahl's first book about these guys, and several things like people getting tired of war movies and figuring out how to make the movie, which was canceled. I'm making these posts for fun and to help give artists ideas for their OCs and fanart. I would post some sample pictures and a minor breakdown in each post. I might miss some because there is so much, so this is just a handful of pictures and photos I collected over the years. We really need to make a Disney Gremlin's Wiki.
Fun Fact: Bill Justice, a Disney animator and engineer, created many concept art and book illustrations. These posts are dedicated to him. Anyway, let's get started!
Early Concept Art: Bill Justice's early versions of the Gremlins that were later used for the Cosmopolitan version of the story. Shout out for ZOLTAR'S FORTUNE on eBay posting the Photocopies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cosmopolitan Magazine (1942): The earliest release of "The Gremlin" story was in the December 1942 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. Someone posted the full article on the site, but I might do another post for each illustration. So stay tuned for that!
Tumblr media
Concept Art of the guys we recognize: These would eventually be the final book and promotion designs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The (Controversial) Life-Saver Ad (1943): AKA the ad Roald Dahl hated, but Walt Disney thought differently.
Tumblr media
Dell War Heroes (April 1943): This is a sample from a six page adaptation of the story that was featured in a Dell War Heroes comic book. The writer and artist are unknown.
Tumblr media
Disney's The Gremlins Book (June 1943): Here is one of Bill Justice's colored paintings from the book. I highly recommend looking through all the paintings from the book because Bill Justice does justice to these guys!
Tumblr media
Walt Disney Comics and Stories #33 (June 1943): In this two page adaptation, a new group of pilots believed the Gremlins were fairytales. Jokes on them since what they said enraged the Gremlins that they mess with the guys.
Tumblr media
King Features Syndicate: In this one page story, this comic is a quick introduction to the characters, the Gremlin, and why they're attacking the Royal Air Force setting up the story. (Comic found in chroniquedisney)
Tumblr media
Donald Vs. The Gremlins (July 1943): The Crossover we would get years later by Walt Kelly.
Tumblr media
Walt Kelly's Comics (July 1943-1944): For a year, Walt Kelly would make 8 comics about Gremlin Gus or both Gremlin Gus and two widgets getting in trouble at the airfield.
Tumblr media
Storyboard Short (1943): This is a sample of a 1943 storyboard when the production went from feature film to short film.
Tumblr media
Disneyfied Gremlin: This is a Model Drawing showing how far into production they were getting before getting scrapped. Later on, concept art was made of the Gremlins to have more of a Disney style. I even noticed the design in the storyboard, too. I'm glad we didn't get this style of characters. But I do love the poses.

I know in Batman Arkham Knight a lot of individuals perceives the Joker as making Batman weaker, and trying to destroy Batman. Me i saw it a whole different way. There's a lot of acts that can have you befuddled in the game. I've always viewed the Joker as someone actually trying to help Batman in this particular game. I don't see how any one could not actually see it. In the Batman Arkham Knight game. the Joker taunts Batman a whole lot throughout the game, and we know Bruce Wayne was having dreams about murdering his family, and it was just brutal. The gas scarecrow begun to use on the dark Knight bought the Joker back to life in Batman's head, and now Bruce Wayne is basically hallucinating, though let's bounce back to this subject. The Joker keeps Batman balance in theses games. He really does. I mean they're times Batman almost loses control, and he's there to provoke him, tell him to make the wrong decision, so he doesn't. In the comic the war of Jokes and riddles Batman easily is about to murdered riddler without a second thought. The Joker sticks his hand out and stops him from committing that act. the Batman confirms that the Joker is only reason he's the way he is, and why? Because the Joker makes Batman want to tussle though it harder, so he won't become like him. Batman fear is becoming like the Joker in a way that helps Batman not to kill. The Joker taunting Bruce, and telling him I'm going murder your family after I take over your body, and kill innocent civilians. That makes Batman push even harder to fight through this, because he doesn't want to become like the Joker, and The Joker vexing him, announcing all theses vile things he's going to do with his body. it causes Batman to fight and not stop. He's pushing Batman limits, and that's how's he makes Batman stronger in the game. Even if Bruce is not aware of it. In the Batman Arkham game Batman is ready to die at the beginning of the game, and who's pops up the Joker. Alfred continues to tell Batman "this is what scarecrow wants" but Batman still stays knowing he might die. Alfred says "you're out of time, " and Bruce says "goodbye Alfred." It's not like he really care about dying anymore. He's not fighting harder enough, but the Joker shows up and tells him "sure you reduced the blast, but we still gotta make it out of here practically. The Joker gave Batman the strength to do it, but this is not the only way the Joker helps, but we're just elaborating on this particular subject.
Tumblr media
Also When Batman almost gives up when he thinks barbs has shot herself in the head. and Alfred tries to get him though it, and comfort him. It's not working. Also In the wiki we know Batman is thinking about giving up, but the Joker comes and taunts Batman. Telling him "let uncle j take over. no more pain. " The Joker continues to say things, and Batman gets an idea and realize he can't give up. The Joker being so evil reminds Bruce that he does not want to become like the Joker. The Joker is Batman fear, and that keeps him balance, knowing if he gives in, that the Joker might kill his whole family, even Gordon said without the Joker I don't know if Bruce is going to be alright, or he's going to go off his rails. When Batman thought he was punching Jason Todd even though he had no idea it was him. It was the Joker's face that causes Bruce to stop. The same thing happened in Batman Arkham City. Batman was punching and punching Mr freeze's face, but the only thing stops him is the Joker's face. Batman having that fear helps Bruce. The Joker even warns Batman throughout the game. He's actually trying to help him. He even say things that are actually nice to Bruce sometimes, but every time Bruce is getting weaker the Joker is there to taunt him a whole lot. To remind him of his failures. At the end of the Arkham Knight the JOKER gives Bruce a full picture of how the world would look if he took over, and Batman finally grasping the reality of things. He does comes through, and stops the Joker's once and for all, but mentally. When Batman finally let's go. You can see the sadness on his face, and then it goes back to an angry expression. which lets you know he was sad that he had to let that part of him go. He might not want to be like the Joker, but he still deeply cares about him. It's just a theory though. I'm not saying the Joker desire is to help Batman this way, but it does.

finally finished the story mode! now i'm going through intros and apparently johnny has an older brother too 😭 between this and him having a sister in the MK SNES booklet, do you think johnny would've been the middle child or the youngest?
I definitely think Johnny would be the youngest child. he just gives off attention-seeking baby brother vibes hfjbdhsjfbd we don't know anything about his sister, and what little we know about his brother is that he was a jerk. so my headcanon is him as the baby brother, the sibling that is bullied the most by his older siblings to varying degrees. we know so little about his family dynamic past this (and him having declared daddy issues in MK1/his dad being "an asshole" per what he says to his younger self in MK11) so it's safe to say that it wasn't the best
I hope it's alright that I get into headcanon territory, but picture it. you have the eldest brother Jimmy (name taken from the wiki—apparently he was named in Federation of the Martial Arts? whatever I'll take any info I can get!) and Rebecca (sister from the SNES booklet) born within maybe two years of one another, give or take. close in age, all things considered. and then Johnny comes along and he's 5-7 years younger than Rebecca, maybe even more. Rebecca is nice enough, and she is more teasing than anything truly harmful. but Jimmy is the kind that will actively make fun of his brother and just act really terribly toward him. combined with Johnny's asshole dad Robert, he and Jimmy gave Johnny all kinds of hell over a lot of things
Johnny hasn't talked to either in a long time (if his dad is alive at all; his older self uses "was" in MK11 and I've almost always headcanoned his father as deceased), and he doubts that he ever will

Any headcanons about Orpheus and Melly?
oooohhh yes ABSOLUTELY LOL
Tumblr media
(edit: I wrote it all out, read more of their wiki stuff, then deleted everything and started over PFFFF. I swear, the more info I get, the next letter I read, it all just changes my views over and over again AH)
Melly:
-I think its interesting that if you choose the 'username' choice, when Alice is being called out to, instead of 'Alice' or 'Eurydice', its actually Melly's silhouette that is walking towards little Alice instead of the two versions of Orpheus. I think Melly has that genuine care for Alice and actually means it. Melly is an old acquaintance of Orpheus and would speak highly of him but here at the manor she is described as fearful and weary of him, more so than Norton (which makes me think that the change in Orpheus really started during the time between being good acquaintances with Melly and now at the manor). But I think it is genuine, that compassion and care for Alice and seeking friendship. Makes me think that Melly really does try to find connection and friendships but keeps being proven wrong, that those she chooses are not actually safe after all. -I think if Norton and her met outside of the mansion there would be beef between them lol I think they can see parts of themselves in each other. That doing whatever it takes to survive. They both treat life like insects, in a way, Melly like a female preying mantis and taking the heads of those who aren't useful anymore or mostly in her case, proving a threat. Norton like something that makes itself seem harmless until the time to strike for survival and necessary change's sakes come. Then Norton irritated that she was able to change her life of poverty to a life of serious wealth and 'freedom'. Then him not appreciating that she can still see right through him. Melly seeing him freely parade around as a friend and foe, being so unreadable and, most frustratingly, unpredictable. I think she would get on him about his table manners "If you want to CHANGE your life START with YOURSELF that is what I did. Start acting like where you want to be. Want to be high class? Start by eating correctly no matter how hungry you are" -I think she uses that veil mostly to study people. She can be seeming like she is looking and talking with one person, but in actuality she is watching another across the room. Talking to Alice but actually watching Orpheus. -There was likely awkward silence when it came to taking Alice back to the manor with Orpheus. She is weary of him and likely trying her best not to rock the boat, but I think she is counting down til she can finally make her moves. Likely trying to keep up the appearance that Orpheus and her are still buds. But something has changed, she can see it and she now knows danger is coming.
Orpheus:
-I personally am not sure that Orpheus started the manor games, but I think he took them on after the initial invitation to participate when going against Ada, Emil, Helena, and Galatea. Seeing the potential and wanting to control them and draw the memory of Alice out if she is still out there. -Just a note while I was reading through stuff, Its looking like the Orphanage purposely kept Alice away from Orpheus, especially after her 'to be adopted father' was entering the picture and promising proper treatments for her ongoing illness. and him knowing that with him adding 'LIAR' in angry bold lettering on the rejection letter. -I think Orpheus is the reason Alice was able to escape the horrid place she was adopted into. Earning his way into the trust of the scientist as one of them and tampering, allowing Alice to gain enough consciousness to grab everything she needed to escape and do so. -but after the game he participated in, he lost track of Alice with one too many uses of the drugs. -I think he and Norton keep their guards up with each other but put on airs that they are good drinking buds in an effort to put of airs that they are safe to be around. But for Norton It may actually turn to legit concern for Orpheus when the game is actually going on. Cause that one scene before he gets hella punched and it looks like he is trying to get Orpheus to stop hurting himself and him and talk sense back into Orpheus, but obviously doesn't work. Orpheus's only concern is Alice and saving her. I don't think Orpheus is capable of caring anymore, only for his only good memories of Alice is he capable. -I think Orpheus acts more like a child now than he ever did when he was actually a kid. He had to grow up fast seems like and seemed awfully mature writing stories while Alice dances/plays with her doll. Now Alice is writing and studying and taking things seriously as Orpheus is laughing and pulling strings finding it all ridiculously amusing aka playing 🙃
Now for more random 'not as influenced by canon' headcanons lol -Orpheus likes limburger cheese. (I think limburger cheese is AWFUL so I am biased pff) He seems like someone who would dig it and make everyone just watch him in 'eehhhhhhh'. Enjoying the thrill of making everyone shocked, uncomfortable, and awkward pff
-Melly saves every insect/arachnid everything from being squished and takes them to safety. And whacking anyone who was trying to whack an innocent insect creature.
-For some reason, I think Melly internally thought it was funny when Frederick said 'sorry to say that I am French" I don't know why but I keep thinking that LOL
-Orpheus now has the driest most uncomfortable humor lol "they died -WHEEEEEZZEEEEEE- GET IT??" everyone else: "eh......right...funny joke..."

"You can make a mark on the world without treachery or murder." - Or can you? Some Skyrim Boethiah Quest Weirdness
Crossposted from r/teslore.
In Boethiah's Skyrim quest, you can confront her former Champion, whom she's tasked you to kill. And he has some interesting things to say.
This is what you want? To slave for others? What about your own destiny? "Mind my words or I'll mind them for you: I'm slave to no man, no god, and no Daedra. Boethiah talks about leaving your mark, a sign of your passing.... Well, you can make a mark on the world without treachery and murder. Whenever a man's life is saved by armor made with these hands, these hands have changed that man's destiny and his family's. So you can tell that heartless Daedra bitch I'm done doing her dirty work."
I've seen this exchange quoted many times on teslore, and analyzed it with others. Is Boethiah really against leaving your mark on the world without treachery or murder? Or is she pissed off at this guy specifically for rejecting her? Does she want people to follow their own will or hers? All excellent questions, but I have to admit I never played the quest through or investigated the Champion himself.
Yesterday, I finally checked the wiki to find out who this guy was, and how he was living his life, and discovered he's a bandit chief as well as a smith and keeps a dead body in a cage in his cave. His hide-out is Knifepoint Ridge and he replaces the radiant bandit chief if the Boethiah quest is active.
So much for no murder. What is going on here?
Boethiah's instructions to you paint a picture consistent with the person and setting we actually find
"My previous champion displeases me. It is time he is replaced - in the traditional fashion." Who is he? "I am loath to utter his name... one cannot erase a thing if it has a name to be remembered." Where can I find him? "You will find him holed up at Knifepoint Ridge, where he plays king to bandits and highwaymen." What has he done to displease you? "For a time he served his purpose, but that time has ended. He uses my gifts for his own amusement, and the only amusement I tolerate is my own." Say no more. He's as good as dead. "Kill every single member of his band. Do so as silently and invisibly as you can, for this is not about you. You are to be my instrument in this. Slay him in the coldest of blood. Do not give him the dignity of defending himself. Once his corpse lays cold upon the ground, and all trace of his followers erased, retrieve my Ebony Mail. A gift fit only for my true champion."
Why is this petty bandit king talking about having turned his back on murder and serving other people?
A fun Watsonian in-universe answer would be that the guy is in denial about what he truly is. He prizes his loyalty to his comrades/followers and paints himself in a positive light as a benevolent crime family boss.
For a development-focused Doylist answer, I'm certain the quest was rewritten at some point, and the champion's dialogue is a missed artefact of an earlier version. The tenor of the Dragonborn's question "This is what you want? To slave for others?" makes no sense in the current quest where Boethiah's told us this guy is using Boethiah's powers to be a bandit king, and this is exactly how he appears when we meet him. I think the Champion's dialogue was written for an earlier iteration of the character, where he was a smith in a civilian setting and had truly turned his back on violence.
Supporting this theory, there is very little chance of ever seeing this dialogue in game. The Champion is automatically aggressive, like every other bandit in the stronghold. You have to use a calming spell to talk to him, and there is nothing to suggest you should. Skyrim doesn't usually hide conversations with bandits and Boethiah asks you to use stealth attacks during this mission so you're even less likely than ever to come out in the open and have a conversation. No playtester would ever trigger this conversation, so it could be easily forgotten. The game went out with the ghost of an earlier quest version in its files. And then it was probably found via Creation Kit, and documented on the wiki. It becomes a mainstay of discussion about Boethiah's values, but without the context of the gameplay.
The Champion's dialogue is still in the game, but what isn't in the game is Boethiah's viewpoint on the Champion's line of thinking. Boethiah in game is reacting to a bandit chief, not a civilian smith with a passion for helping people, so who knows what Boethiah would say about making your mark on the world through smithing? Maybe she'd still be mad at a former champion for throwing away her gifts for that, but this all becomes speculation. What seemed a concrete example of Boethiah's will crumbles when observed in context.
You could definitely come up with a Watsonian explanation to put all these points together, but this has been a good reminder for me that the Elder Scroll games are games first and foremost. Dialogue that seems to give insight into the lore might not actually say what it seems to say, once you observe the context of the gameplay.

Let's (re)Read The Eye of the World! Chapter 36: Web of the Pattern
Tumblr media
Pictured, me left, you right. If you don't like spoilers for the whole Wheel of Time series, there's no need to threaten to stab me or whatever. You can just... go somewhere else. Read the books. Watch the show. Get spoiled on a completely different website because boy howdy will the wiki do that to anyone who is even a little behind. If you do like spoilers, also maybe please put the sword down.
This chapter gives us the leaves on the vine chapter icon. As I said back when it was introduced, it's an icon that's often associated with the Ogier, and guess who's being introduced in this chapter? That's right. Hooray!
He kept the story simple, and he kept Trollocs and Fades out of it. When somebody offered help, it would not do to tell them it was all about fables. But he did not think it was fair to understate the danger, either, not fair to pull someone in when they had no idea what they were getting into.
I'm sure that Rand's making the right call here because fate and all, but I do wonder if Gill wouldn't have believed him about Trollocs and Fades all the same. If anything, his connections to Thom and general good-natured practicality might lead him to figuring out the details well before Rand does in the main timeline.
They say she has a way of feeling things, what’s happened, what’s going to happen. They say she can cut right through to what a man wants to hide.
Either this is entirely undeserved reputation and more of the general theme of falsehoods spreading about in place of the truth (her Foretelling being morphed into being a lie detector), or she actually was this canny once and Fain warps it right out of her during his visit. Either way, it's a shame she wasn't actually all she was cracked up to be, she could have been really good.
“All these people, and any of them could be Darkfriends. Master Gill promised to help us awfully quick. What kind of man just shrugs off Aes Sedai and Darkfriends? It isn’t natural. Any decent person would tell us to get out, or . . . or . . . or something.”
Finally, some delightful paranoia from Mat. Dagger's kicking in properly. Maybe it's strengthened by all the people around? Maybe not, but either way, it's very good work on the dagger's part. As soon as someone offers their approval, they're a bad guy because no good person could approve. Thank goodness Moiraine's gonna cure him soon.
The dark-eyed girl had a tendency to twist her skirt and giggle whenever she looked at Rand. She was pretty, but he knew if he said anything to her he would just make a fool of himself. She made him wish he had Perrin’s way with girls; he was glad when she left.
Rand keeps coming back to Perrin as the lady killer and I'm sure that most of it is just that Mat's right there and therefore too obviously not good with girls for Rand's delusions, but I do so wonder what evidence Rand has for his assumption. Did Perrin and Alexandra DeWit- I mean, Laila Dearn get a little flirty once before they decided not to date? Did they almost hold hands or something? What is Rand's standard of measurement here?
Rand hung his things up, watching Mat’s back. He thought Mat had his hand under his coat, clutching that dagger again.
"Dammit man, wait until I'm out of the room or asleep or something!"
Only a few had wooden covers. His eyes gobbled up the titles, picking out old favorites. The Travels of Jain Farstrider. The Essays of Willim of Maneches. His breath caught at the sight of a leatherbound copy of Voyages Among the Sea Folk.Tam had always wanted to read that.
It's so sweet that even here and now Rand is thinking about his dad's interests and hobbies.
It's very nice that we only meet one of these authors, though Willim of Maneches sounds like an interesting guy maybe. He's a philosopher who probably wasn't a Darkfriend, at least! I feel like he might be a reference to some real life guy, but I'm not sure who.
I would not be at all surprised if every detail in Voyages was a complete lie.
“So few of you remember us. It’s our own fault, I suppose. Not many of us have gone out among men since the Shadow fell on the Ways. That’s . . . oh, six generations, now. Right after the War of the Hundred Years, it was.”
Loial! Loial! LOIAL!
Also, if his use of "generations" is anything like how modern humans use the term (to refer to a cohort of people born within 20 years of each other), then Ogier live just slightly longer than the most powerful channelers do.
But anyway, fuck Gill I have a new favorite now! Loial!
My first day in Caemlyn, I could not believe the uproar. Children cried, and women screamed, and a mob chased me all the way across the city, waving clubs and knives and torches, and shouting, ‘Trolloc!’ I’m afraid I was almost beginning to get a little upset. There’s no telling what would have happened if a party of the Queen’s Guards hadn’t come along.
And this folks is why the people of Caemlyn deserve everything that's coming for them, including the unnatural winter that's already here.
“Well, as to that, now. You see, the Stump had not been meeting very long, not even a year, but I could tell from what I heard that by the time they reached a decision I would be old enough to go without their permission. I am afraid they’ll say I put a long handle on my axe, but I just . . . left. The Elders always said I was too hotheaded, and I fear I’ve proven them right. I wonder if they have realized I’m gone, yet? But I had to go.”
I love how Loial is having his own heroic adventure that has nothing to do with all of the major drama in the world. So many characters in this series absolutely could carry their own book and with Loial being in the POV spotlight so consistently we can get a good feel for how it would all play out from his own perspective in a way that's harder for some like Bayle Domon who are awesome but dip in and out more frequently. It's this aspect that I live for in epic fantasy.
You cannot make the land go against itself. Not for long; the land will rebel. You must shape the vision to the land, not the land to the vision. In every grove was planted every tree that would grow and thrive in that place, each balanced against the next, each placed to complement the others, for the best growing, of course, but also so that the balance would sing in the eye and the heart.
Points to Jordan for so effortlessly critiquing everything about modern agriculture and environmental policies so succinctly. I know that his vision of the end of the First Age was nuclear warfare (which was not so unrealistic when he got started on the series), but I can't help but wonder if climate change would have been a better aspect to focus on - both as a cause, and as something the AoL had to build itself to be so strongly against. The arrival of the Ogier being the miracle that spared humankind from complete extinction at the dawn of the second age would be quite appropriate and it's not even like the canonical AoL isn't pretty greenpunky...
Try as you will—and I have read that the Ogier who built those cities truly did try—you cannot make stone live.
With history becoming legend and all that, is it terrible of me to imagine the historical Ogier desperately trying to make robots as a last ditch effort to forestall the technological collapse of the Breaking? The image is hilarious.
But I must go back, eventually. This world is yours, yours and your kind’s. The stedding are mine.
Okay now that I've talked about my own brand of crazy, let's all appreciate how Jordan told us outright here that Ogiers are aliens. There's no metaphor here, the Ogier are from a whole extra dimension and the stedding are the places where they've made their world overlap with ours (and overwrite? or perhaps in Ogierhome there's a bunch of awful regions that any natives left behind avoid because there's just something weird about them?).
“Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day.”
I recommend everyone adapt this as their personal mantra, it's very empowering.
And good for you for being so multicultural Loial. Shame that it's falling on deaf ears.
Rand opened his mouth to say that they had come to see the false Dragon—and he could not say it. Perhaps it was because Loial acted as if he were no older than Rand, ninety years old or no ninety years old. Maybe for an Ogier ninety years was not any older than he was.
Loial is such an adorable and wonderful person that when he's in a room with the strongest ta'veren of all time, it's the ta'veren who finds himself saying things he never thought he'd say.
Rand nodded. “I could live on the farm or in Emond’s Field, and that would be a small change. If I wanted to be a king, though. . . .”
Poor dumb Rand has got it completely backwards.
Artur Hawkwing was ta’veren. So was Lews Therin Kinslayer, for that matter, I suppose.
You know, Mr. Jordan, this would have been a perfect opportunity to mention Mabriam en Shereed, the fifth ta'veren we know about (since Lews and Rand shouldn't count as separate) and the only woman. There's a lot we could say about whether or not Egwene or Nynaeve should have been ta'veren as well and it's really one of the least shocking changes the TV show made, but it's very noticeable that in a world that should be gender equal it's mostly the dudes we hear about being special. Ah well, maybe Birgitte is normally a ta'veren when she incarnates and just wasn't this time around because of how weird circumstances were.
“Will you at least talk with me sometimes?” Loial sighed, a bass rumble. “And perhaps play a game of stones? I have not had anyone to talk to in days, except good Master Gill, and he is busy most of the time. The cook seems to run him unmercifully. Perhaps she really owns the inn?”
Jordan really likes this trope too, of the men theoretically being in charge but the women really being in charge. He does at least subvert it a little later on with Lan and Nynaeve's marriage, which is the same dynamic but different, but I feel like his upbringing led him to internalize a very unstable and unlikely dynamic as some sort of universal.
Oh well, at least we have a reference to the game of stones, which is the real life game Go (or very close to it) and has been mentioned before but not by Loial so who cares? Loial is the sweetest boy and all of his interests are way cooler than Rand's road trip drama.
Sadly, instead of spending the next two chapters analyzing them in detail, we'll be cutting to some other POVs as we resolve the situation that the other non-Loials are in. See you then!

Congrats on 5K! Your work is always a treat and a thrill! May I request #31 from the kiss prompts with Captain Gregor (from any point in the timeline, I trust you) please? Thank you so much!
Tumblr media
A/N: I've only watched a handful of episode of The Bad Batch, so this comes from what I remember of The Clone Wars and Wiki. I hope that's okay!
Tumblr media
It’s strange, what things he remembered and what he didn’t.
His time on Kamino was clear enough. The days were repetitive, making the walls and the faces of his brothers clear in his mind. The Kaminoans had done their job well. Their basic programming never wavered despite all the damage his mind had gone through.
Battles were trickier. They came in flashes really. Heat. The sounds of his own breathing beneath his helmet. The smell of burnt wire and metal. Screams. They were not memories he tried to hold onto.
There was one more place, somewhere that came to him only in dreams. It felt so far away. He still didn’t know how much of it was real or just a figment of his imagination. Still, when he closed his eyes, that tiny bedroom, with the thread bare curtains and well worn mattress, felt more real than any other memory he had.
A hand ran up and down his chest. Legs tangled together. Warm skin pressed against his own. The steady sound of breathing mixed with the hum of traffic just outside.
He couldn’t picture your face. Your name was long gone, but he knew he wanted to stay. Nothing was more important to him than to stay in that bed and never leave you again.
Lips met his neck. Slow, wet kisses traced up and down making him groan at the sensation.
“When do you go,” you would ask.
“Not for a while. We have time,” he’d answer. The same answer every night.
Another kiss, this one with teeth as if you hoped to claim him entirely for your own.
“Not enough,” you whisper.
Never enough.
And there it would end. The scene would start again, and again, and again, until he finally woke up.
He didn’t remember you. He just knew he was yours, then and always.

Headcanon Fifth and Tenth Division Officers
So, after a chat with @alexiethymia, I got the urge to write up a list of every division officer I've ever made up for the sake of a story. There was a time where I wouldn't have ever bothered even naming an officer (just referring to them as 'officer' or by their rank), but that's changed over the years. So, for perhaps no one's enjoyment but my own, here are all the officers who I've made up in my fics.
Quick notes before we start: according to the BLEACH wiki and chapter 119, the ranks 11-20 can be occupied by more than one officer, so you might see me saying things like 'one of Fifth Division's twelfth seats' for instance.
Some of the info here is just things I was thinking of at the time I was writing fics these characters appear in, such as what their first names might be or their backgrounds.
Finally, I'll be including pictures and gifs of characters from other series just to give you can idea what these officers look like.
Tomoko Suzuki: Fifth Division's only seventeenth seat. She's appeared in Petrichor and As Months Go By, As Seasons Change:
She's a hard worker, responsible, observant, and unafraid to give her views on something or ask a question.
She's quick to follow orders and makes a decent leader, but can sometimes be a little too stubborn once she sets her mind to something and can be rash in battle when she has to protect someone.
She's from a lesser noble family comprised of just herself, her mother, and father.
She has a deep respect for Momo, and the two have known each other since Momo first became a seated officer, Although slow to come around to Shinji as her captain (having been scarred by Aizen's betrayal like everyone else in her division), she's come to greatly respect him too.
Her shikai, as seen in Petrichor, has the ability to numb whatever it cuts, causing the target to experience paresthesia (or 'pins-and-needles') and potentially paralysis through whichever nerves were struck. Depending on the size of the opponent, this can last from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Her sword doesn't change much in appearance expect for the golden stripe that runs down the middle of the blade.
I imagined her as being a bit older than Momo, with dark green-grey hair kept in a long braid on her shoulder, dark grey eyes, and round-framed glasses (which she needs to see short-distance). She looks most like an older version of Mei Shijima from Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun.
Tumblr media
Kobe Abiko: an unseated Fifth Division officer. He appears in the first part of As Months Go By, As Seasons Change and in Petrichor
At the time of writing him, I imagined him as someone who's nervous around authority and about proving why he's worthy of being a Shinigami.
He was one of the younger graduates in his year and has yet to achieve shikai.
Momo sympathizes with him for his nervousness.
In terms of appearance, he looks any background BLEACH character, so take your pick!
Katsuro Hoshino: Fifth Division's eighth seat. He appears in part 2 of As Months Go By, As Seasons Change and makes a cameo in For What the Future Holds. I actually went into a surprising amount of detail for him in that story:
He's from one of the lower districts and has no family or friends from there. Because of this, he rarely has any inclination to go visit where he used to live.
He's always looking to improve himself, so he often asks for feedback on his training, performance on team missions, or where he's lacking.
Because of this, he's a perfectionist. If he ever messes up, he insists on correcting his mistake. If he ever got praised for something, he’d ask how he could make it better.
Shinji suspects all of this stems from the fact he's from one of lower districts, as in his experiences people from those districts tend to be ambitious and need to provide for those back home.
In reality, Katsuro is just ambitious by nature, but his environment definitely made him want to live a better life than he did when he first arrived in the Soul Society.
I can see him being a fan of Izuru's haiku poems. I'd like to think he got to meet him in person thanks to Momo and he internally fanboys throughout the exchange.
In appearance, he has pale skin, light grey eyes, and platinum blond hair. I imagine him being an older version of Ojiro from Boku no Hero Academia, but taller, thinner, and with his hair slicked back
Tumblr media
Fuyuka Hirose: one of Fifth Division's two twelfth seats. She's mentioned in For All That Was Lost and Momo comes to pay her respects at her grave in To Give You Shelter:
She first came to the Fifth division 22 years before the main story and rose up the ranks due to her excellent zanjutsu skills and for harnessing her shikai to almost it's full potential
I haven't thought about what exactly her shikai would be, but if I had to take a guess, it'd be an earth-based zanpakuto with a power that involves the smell of flowers, with each smell having a different effect on the opponent - one makes them dizzy, another causes them to break out in sores, etc - but there would be one that can be crushed and used as a healing agent (kind of like Minazuki's stomach acids). It's main weakness is, of course, that once an opponent figures out it's the smell affecting them, they just have to cover their nose. Also, it has the potential to affect allies too.
She likes to wear earrings (like these ones) and used to wear a single long earring that was one of her most prized possessions in her right ear. However, after a mission where she almost lost her ear in battle because of it, she only wore the earring on special occasions from then on.
Her favourite fruit is nashi pears.
She loves gardening, and is often seen taking care of the Fifth Division's gardens in her free time. She asks Momo if she can gather a group together to do gardening every few months, and Momo will sometimes join in if she was free.
While on a posting in a seaside town, she heard about a flower festival the locals liked to go to in the countryside; she made it a goal to attend it whenever she is next on a mission in the World of the Living.
She dies in the TYBW arc during the first invasion.
Her gardening work is carried on by those who used to be part of her gardening groups.
I imagined her having short brown hair that varied in length over the years (it was never longer than above the shoulder) and lavender-coloured eyes. I think the closest character to look like her is Meryl from Trigun, maybe a younger version of the character
Tumblr media
Ohashi: one of Fifth Division's twelfth seats. They appear in It's Been a While:
They were originally a thirteenth seat but were promoted after the war.
I can't remember what gender I thought of them as being at the time, so I'll leave it up to you to decide.
Funai: one of Fifth Division's fifteenth seats. He's mentioned in For All That Was Lost:
I think at the time I thought his first name would be Tsunemi, which has a few spellings, but I went with the one with the characters 常見 (I think together the characters mean 'usual/ordinary, see').
He's a painter, and usually paints landscapes; his skills are so good a few of his artworks are on display in the Fifth Division and he's been encouraged by many officers to sell his works.
Momo offers him tips on how to draw human anatomy while he helps her improve her nature drawings.
He has a small crush on Hirose, and he's one of the first people she ropes into being a part of her gardening groups.
While on a mission in the World of the Living, he first saw a ferris wheel and decided the next time he visited he would ride one; Momo suspects this is because he wanted to get a good view of a landscape or cityscape for a painting.
He dies in the TYBW during the second invasion.
He's survived by a younger adoptive brother who is in another division. He has requested to be transferred to Fifth Division to carry on his brother's legacy, but Shinji is reluctant as he wants the brother to live out his own life and not the life of someone else.
In appearance, he has tanned skin, thick dark auburn hair, brown eyes, and wears a black corded necklace with an engraved silver pendant on the end (much like this; the engraving he has is of a kanji characters which translate to 'keep moving forward', a mantra he had while growing up in the Rukongai). Funnily enough, Kubo ended up drawing how I imagined him a little when he drew the OG Gotei 13; the closest character to his appearance is Danjiro, former captain of Fifth Division (maybe they're related?!)
Tumblr media
Hoga and Domen: Fifth Division officers who both hold the rank of twentieth seat (they share it with 4 others). They are mentioned in For All That Was Lost:
Domen I saw as being a man with the first name Zenzo (spelt 全三, with the character together meaning 'all, three'), while Hoga has the first name Sakae (spelt 栄 and meaning 'prosperity') and I saw the character at first as also a man but at other times as a woman, so you decide.
Both want to go to a beach in the World of the Living as neither of them had seen the sea before. While there, they also want to go to the bars and see if the drinks taste any different from those in the Rukongai.
They are big drinkers, and it'd be unusual for them to not go drinking at least once a week.
They were rivals once, often competing against each other at the Academy. Their rivalry was often viewed negatively by others, but to both of them it was a show of respect, that they saw the other as being of equal footing and worthy of competing against.
After graduating, their rivalry started to flourish into a friendship. They went to different divisions, until they ended up in the Fifth Division with the same rank.
That doesn't mean they're not competitive with each other anymore. They often challenge each other to do things, much to the division's enjoyment and sometimes chagrin.
They both die in the TYBW arc during the first invasion. Those that knew them were glad to learn that it appears they died fighting together.
I don't really have much to say for their appearances, but I imagine they'd both be almost 6 feet tall and look like they're in their mid to late twenties. Domen has a thick, bleach-blonde mullet (he originally had black hair, but he chose to colour it because he thought it's make him look 'cool'), while Hoga has black hair tied back in a short ponytail with bangs on either side of his/her face. If I had to pick characters that they most look like, Domen looks like Onizuka Eikichi and and Hoga looks like Danma Ryuji (if a man) from Shonan Junai Gumi.
Tumblr media
Higuchi: Fifth Division's seventh seat. He appears in A Matter of the Heart, Petrichor and It's Him.
I never thought of a first name for him, but I think Katsuo (勝雄, the characters together meaning 'victory, hero/manly') would be a good fit.
In It's Him, he's one of zombie Hitsugaya's victims. If this were still the case in the canon story line, he'd live but have a scar on his body and struggle for a short time to look at Hitsugaya. In A Matter of the Heart, he gets pretty emotional and riled up when he brings up Momo is one of the detention cells. So, yeah, needless to say he has a bit of a tense view of Tenth Division's captain.
He's a burly guy, definitely one of the bigger men in the Fifth Division, and often asked to lift things by Shinji as a result - such as new furniture to move in or supplies for the reconstruction efforts in the ten year time skip.
He's also a bit paternal, always looking out for the younger recruits and acting as a father figure to some fellow officers. He became protective of everyone in the division after Aizen's betrayal, including Momo. Needless to say, he was distrustful of Shinji at first, and was very slow to come around to him being his captain.
He was transferred from Ninth Division to Fifth when Aizen was still in charge. Given what happened with Aizen and Tosen, he wonders sometimes if the transfer was part of Aizen's plan.
While in Ninth Division, he was an editor for the Seireitei Communication. He sometimes misses the role and has tried multiple times to get a column in the magazine going, but his ideas are often derivative of other writers (such as Sui Feng's 'I'll Do Anything to Live' and Renji's 'Let's Do Shikai!!').
After the war, he finally tied to knot with 'his misses' (a resident in the Rukongai he's known since they met at a festival decades ago). Shinji was delighted when he said he wanted to host the after party at the Fifth Division, and it came as a much needed morale boost during the reconstruction efforts. To this day, he still gushes about her when he's drunk.
In appearance, Higuchi is muscular and tall (standing at over 6 feet) and he is a little older than Shinji. He has short dark hair, bushy eyebrows, and facial hair that he sometimes grows out but most keeps shaven. He looks a lot like the younger version of Tamiya Gantetsusai from Hell's Paradise.
Tumblr media
Yumi Takagaki: one of Fifth Division's five thirteenth seats. She makes a cameo in Petrichor.
She's good friends with Narita from Tenth Division, who she met at the Academy. She's also good friends with Hirose and Hoga, the latter of whom she remembers from her district as a neighbour.
In appearance, she has light brown hair tied back in a bun with a beaded ribbon that's ends rest on her shoulders and dark green eyes.
Takaya: before I knew about Genji, she was Fifth Division third seat in A Matter of the Heart. I have since gone back and edited her out, and she now one of their Fifteenth seats. She makes a cameo appearance in For What the Future Holds.
Minagawa: Tenth Divison's third seat. He makes a cameo in It's Been a While.
His first name is Yusuke, spelt 勇祐 and the characters together [I think based on what I searched] to mean 'courage, to help'.
He's an affable person who Toshiro and Rangiku know they can rely on to run the division if they ever need him to. He shares traits with each of his superiors, having the hardwork ethic and focus of his captain and is as observant about those around him as Rangiku.
He came to the Soul Society as a teenager and was sent to the Sakahone (East 76th) district. Like most residents, he worshiped Mimihagi.
He had anger issues and was prone to getting into fights with the teens and adults in the district when he first arrived. He still has a few scars from these fights.
Like most in the division, he has friends and family he will do anything to protect. He had a large adoptive family (3 sisters and 3 brothers) and was one of only three family members that had spiritual potential. They all took on the same surname to show they were a family.
The first member of his family he met was his youngest sister, who saved from being caught by the adults that were pursing him. He then met his two younger brothers when they helped him in a fight, his older sister after she was abandoned by her original caretakers, his second young sister when he helped her win a fight, and his older brother when he helped lead one of his younger brothers and youngest sister back to him.
Two of his brothers died during a Hollow attack, and his second sister passed away from illness not long after. These deaths made him vow to become strong enough to protect his family, and he prayed to Mimihagi every day to grant him the strength he needed to protect everyone he cherishes.
He was in Rangiku's year, but the two didn't really interact until they ended up in the same division.
He ended up in Thirteenth Division, where he learned to manage his anger issues and [under Jushiro and Kaien's leadership] adopted the philosophy that true strength comes from the bonds one makes rather than brute strength or talent. Until then, he basically thought 'What good are bonds if I don't the strength to protect them?' He'd been so focused on becoming stronger through fighting and harnessing his spiritual potential that he hadn't realised he'd been growing distant form his family.
He got transferred to Tenth Division upon Kaien's recommendation, as he thought he'd be a good for the division (in terms of personal goals and personality).
He's known Toshiro since the latter came to the Tenth Division. They've been on numerous missions together, and he saved his future captain during a battle against Huge Hollows. He has the scar on his bicep to prove it.
While working together as seated officers, Minagawa saw some of himself in Toshiro, but also saw the inverse of his own situation - rather than strive to obtain the power to protect those he cares about, Toshiro had immense power he needed to reign in in order to keep those he cared about safe.
When Toshiro became a captain, their relationship changed. Once Mingawa would treat him almost like a younger brother, but now it's more like friendly workmates. Every now and then he goes back to their 'old routine' though.
He actually doesn't have all that much to do most of the time, as Toshiro is too much of a hard worker. He's often tried to get his captain to let him complete some of the paperwork for him, fearing (like many in the division) he's overworking himself. For the most part, he checks in on subordinates, oversees training, and assigns Shinigami/patrols in the Rukongai and World of the Living. Rangiku convinces Mingawa to loosen up a little when he's working too hard and come drinking with her if she can't get the lieutenants or captains to go with her.
He has a pet parakeet who lives in his room named Taiyo. On his breaks and in his spare time, he takes Taiyo out and wonders around the division with him on his shoulder. He was a gift from Minagawa's family to congratulate him on becoming third seat.
He lost his left pinkie and ring fingers in the TYBW arc during the second invasion (the pinkie is completely gone, while he still has up to the second knuckle of his ring finger). Twelfth Division supplied him with a special glove that has prosthetic fingers within and ensures can still perform kido spells that require both hands.
I've written a lot for him here, and yet he's only made a cameo in one fic! XD I'll see if I can include him in my next one.
In appearance, he looks like his in his late twenties or early thirties and has slightly tanned skin, thick and wavy hair with a shortish fringe over one side of his face (in terms of colour, I've imagined him with black hair but also dark red hair, so who knows, maybe he got a dye job at one point), dark coloured eyes, and he wears a few things in his left wrist, include a woven bracelet his youngest sister made. He has several scars, all of which aren't visible when he wears his uniform except for one that runs from edge of his right eyebrow and angles to end near his ear (he got this from a Hollow and was lucky to survive).
In To know Love, Toshiro observes that he glances at an officer from the Thirteenth Division named Mako. Could this be love? ;D
He's actually shown up in the anime! Okay, well, not quite, but I got a shock when I rewatched the scene where Toshiro asks to be trained in zanjutsu and saw a background character that looks so much like how I imagined him.
Tumblr media
Kenichi Hanae: Tenth Division's fourth seat. He appears in Petrichor.
He grew up in one of the higher districts and was adopted by a couple who run a restaurant. His family comprises of his mother, father, his grandfather, and an older brother.
Before he became a Shinigami, he worked with this parents in the restaurant and learned how to cook. Because of this, he's ended up as one of the divisions best cooks, though he rarely gets to show it off because his rank requires him to stay away from the kitchen.
He's taken many division members to his family's restaurant, including Toshiro and Rangiku.
In appearance, he appears to be in his late thirties with an olive skintone and looks like some BLEACH background characters, so keep picking!
Furakawa: Tenth Division's ninth seat. He appears in It's Been a While, where he may or may have not made a not-so-great lunch for his sick captain.
If I had to pick a given name for him, it'd be Atsuto, spelt 篤人 and together the characters supposedly meaning 'fervent/kind/serious/deliberate, person'.
He's an anxious and sensitive person, often startled when something suddenly happens.
He failed to get into the Academy four times, but managed to scrape in on his fifth attempt.
He has two childhood friends back in the Rukongai. He became a Shinigami so he could provide for them with the money he earns. He keeps in contact with them through writing and infrequent visits.
He, along with the majority of the division, notice the connection between his captain and Momo. He supports them for sure, but he gets more nervous than usually when he sees them together. One time he walked in on the two them having a chat, and he apologized profusely and rushed out of the room.
He's a not a good cook.
He looks like most BLEACH background character, so take hour pick again!
Narita: one of Tenth Division's eleventh seats. She makes a cameo in Petrichor.
Never thought of a first name for her, but I think Ageha would be a good fit (spelt 愛華羽 and [according to my searches] the characters together mean 'affection, flower/petal/splendor, feathers').
She's an empathetic soul, and her friends back in the Ruokngai feared she wouldn't be a good fit as a Shinigami due to the violence she'd have to experience. However, if it's to protect souls, she isn't afraid to fight.
She applied for Fourth Division, but ended up in Tenth due her kido skills not being up to Fourth Division's standards. She still hopes to be transferred to there one day, but in the meantime focuses on improving her kido.
She likes to play shogi and practices ikebana in her spare time. She gives finished bouquets to her friends or Rangiku has them displayed around the division.
She's good friends with Fifth Division's Yumi Takagaki, who she met at the Academy. She's actually pretty friendly with everyone in the division, no one has anything bad to say about her.
In appearance, she looks like she's in her early to mid twenties and has long, black, straight hair she keeps in a side ponytail on one shoulder and blue eyes. The closest character that comes to her in appearance is [an older looking] Momo Yaoyorozu from Boku No Hero Academia.
Tumblr media
And that's all as far as I can remember! If you made it to the end of this post, thank you for taking the time to read it all the way through! i appreciate any and all thoughts on these characters of course, or if you have some of your own characters, I'd love to read about them! :D

So, having not played the games myself and only knowing about things from wiki and the occasional fanfic referencing in-game events I'm in the unfortunate position of adoring Tellius characters with no outlet. But scrolling down your blog has me thinking because you mentioned wondering about situations where Soren or Volke would get down and dirty. So picture if you will "I almost lost you forever" post-battle sex for Soren and stress-relief sex w/dirty talk for Volke.
oh no Friend Anon you activated my trap card
Volke came to mind first, but honestly, your idea for Soren is like one of the only ways I could even imagine him fucking because of just... how he is as a person lmao. So Soren will be coming in the future, I promise you- I keep wanting a good excuse to write him, after all.
To be clear to others btw, I'm not taking new requests right now, this one just hit me in Some Kinda Way. Which is why the impossible has happened and I'm posting writing two days in a row lmao.
Final side note, I literally can't tell you guys how shook I am that FEH has made it clear that the 'e' at the end of Volke's name ISN'T SILENT?? Like... Vol-keh?! What the entire shit.
** quick little TW for both characters being slightly buzzed
Volke (Fire Emblem PoR & RD) x AFAB Reader
NSFW drabbles 18+
"We- we should... go to a room," you say in a breathy whisper, though you're still tugging the front of Volke's cloak, opening one clasp at a time from where you shakily stand, pinned with your back against the storage room wall, "What if... the owner, or- or the barkeep..."
"The owner of this place owes me a few favors and more than a few back-payments," Volke's voice rumbles at the crook of your neck, "As for the barkeep... I frankly don't care what he happens to see," his hands slide under your tunic and up your back, sending shivers through you, "Do you?"
Instead of an answer, you tug him into a deep, messy kiss, and he groans out his approval. Your bodies are warmed by friction and the pleasant buzz of ale, the aches of weeks spent marching and fighting and surviving melting away with every new inch of skin his hands conquer. You feel the graze of his facial scruff against your skin as his tongue teases yours and his body traps you between him and the wall. You've finally managed to open the various layers of his clothing enough to run your hands up his nicely carved abdomen to his chest. Volke utters another low, masculine groan, and his hands grab your backside and pull you firmly against him. Then, his lips are traveling down the side of your neck, and your head is spinning from the heat, his body, the scent of booze and earthy pipe smoke that lingers on his clothes and hair. When at last he reaches the base of your neck, he presses his teeth to the tender skin, and you gasp out his name, your nails raking down his toned musculature.
"Keep making those cute little noises and we'll definitely attract unwanted guests."
"I- I can't help it, you-!"'
His low chuckle grazes across your skin, and before you realize, he's undone the front of your breeches with a single hand that is now pushing down into them.
"I never said I minded."
"Oh-!"
Your head tilts back and you cling to the front of his clothes as his fingers begin to pulse between your thighs. Perhaps you shouldn't be surprised that his hands are inhumanly dexterous, stroking around your clit at just the right angle, hitting just the right pace.
"So- what... is this gonna run me?" you huff the words out between weak whimpers of pleasure, attempting a confident, casual tone.
"I don't charge for these kinds of services," Volke matches your playful tone, in his own subtler way, "Business and pleasure- you understand."
"Shame, that," you gasp as his middle finger rolls a tight circle around the nub of your clit, "You'd... make a killing... Mmmhh..!"
Volke gives a short laugh.
"I'm flattered."
His pace quickens, his touch just a little firmer, and by instinct alone, your hips begin to shift in time with him. He's silent now as he drives you relentlessly closer to the edge, and with your bodies so close, you can't even look up to read his expression. You can only hold onto him in your desperation to steady yourself while his expert fingers send jolts of electrifying pleasure up your center. If he keeps this up for much longer, your knees may very well give out.
"Volke- ohh- fu-fuck, Volke, I'm-!"
"Don't."
His voice at your ear plunges through you, warming you more deeply than any liquor. Then, he pulls his hand from between your legs, and before you can question him, he turns you by your hips to face the wall.
"I want to feel it when you cum."
You brace your arms against the wall in front of you as Volke holds you with your back to him and his lips at your throat once again. Those skillful hands cup your breasts, squeezing and fondling them for just long enough to appreciate their shape in his palms before he moves on, and you arch back against him as his touch travels down your body. When he returns to your hips, he tugs you back to him so that his fully erect cock ruts against the swell of your ass, and you whimper his name. The way he manhandles you is firm and decisive, but not overly harsh, and never without that sense of control and deadly grace that he's known for. It's making your head spin. You need more. Mercifully, he doesn't plan to make you wait.
Volke pulls your clothes out of his way, then grabs a handful of your ass with one hand while his other works his stiff member out from his own clothing. Without a word or any ceremony, he presses the head of his cock to your drooling pussy, then begins to push inside, holding you in place against his thrust. The bulge of the tip and the slight curve of his shaft have him grinding into you in a thousand incredible ways, and your eyes begin to roll back before he's even bottomed out within you. You've wanted this too badly- the thrill of it all has very nearly wiped any thoughts of battle and training and strategizing from your mind. His member is slick with your release in no time, and he grunts into your ear as he begins to fuck steadily into you from behind.
"You feel good... damn good. Squeezing around me like that... Mmh..." His hips pitch forward, driving him in you to the base, filling you, stretching you, forcing a blissful sigh from your parted lips. The hand fondling your ass grips you more firmly, enjoying the erotic sensation of your plump flesh as it jiggles with every thrust. Then, you feel a quick, sharp slap across your backside that causes you to moan aloud, and Volke plants both of his hands on the wall in front of you. He's warm around you, the scent of liquor still potent on his breath, yet each sensation only heightens that of his throbbing cock plunging deep within you over and over.
"Damnit-" Volke's breath hitches, and he groans as he momentarily eases his pace and pushes his member into you slow and firm, "Can't afford to get... addicted to this."
The words seem more for him than for you, muttered in the midst of his efforts to steady himself. But before you even think to question him, his arm is around you and his hand is trailing down the front of your body. Never easing the persistent sway of his hips, his fingertips stroke across your clit once again, and you let out a desperate, blissful moan. Any concern you'd had about being discovered here has long vanished; the onslaught of pleasure is simply too much to bear. His dexterous fingers tend to your most sensitive nerves while his thick member stretches you perfectly around him.
"Fu-fuck, Volke..!"
"That's it, come on- let me feel it," his cock twitches, throbbing at your deepest point, perhaps provoked by the knowledge that you're so dearly close to release. Then, the sensation rushes through you like a crashing wave, and for a moment, you're dizzy and unsteady on your feet. Bracing yourself against the wall and Volke's sturdy frame, you shiver and whine his name as your cunt flexes around his length and your climax overtakes you. Amidst the overwhelming sensation, you barely register that Volke is panting harshly against your ear, his pace stuttering as he feels you cumming on his cock. By the time you feel yourself coming down from that incredible high, you're still shaking, barely keeping yourself upright as he chases his own satisfaction at last.
Volke doesn't say a word- only traps you in place with your back to his chest and both of his hands now gripping hard at your hips. He thrusts forcefully once, then twice, sheathing himself fully in your warmth until you feel his member pulsing with his own release. The way he's throbbing against your tender and over-stimulated inner walls is a shock to your system, but you rally your strength to stay upright while he pours volley after volley of thick cum into you. He utters an earnest and lustful groan, subtly swaying his hips to grant just a bit more of that intoxicating friction as he rides out the last of his orgasm, having filled you and then some. At last, you're both panting, sighing with the blissful aftershocks as the distant sounds of clinking mugs and rowdy tavern-goers float around you.
"Holy... holy fuck..." you gasp as he finally eases out of you. Volke takes a moment to fix his clothes, then turns you to face him, and you hold onto the front of his cloak while you regain your balance. "You... you pent up or something? You've made a real mess of me..." True enough, his load is already dripping slowly down your inner thigh.
"I'm a busy man. Not a lot of leisure time for someone in my line of work during a war. Come on, let's get you cleaned up. Then, another drink," he smirks, "If you're not spent, anyway."
"Generous of you," you reply, wearing a matching grin while you make a passing attempt at sorting your clothes and hair, "though if you're so busy, I'd hate to take up your valuable time."
Volke's shrewd eyes conspicuously scan your body once before eventually meeting yours.
"As I said- business and pleasure."

Next up is Munkustrap, Rum Tum Tugger and Mistoffelees! here they are:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
for Munkustrap, there is no ‘set’ wig, unfortunately. here below are four examples from og london + early us. the only thing they all have in common are the colours and the stripes - the shape is different in all of these. but they do, however, all get smaller in size at the bottom of the wig. other than the wig, he has a collar and is always grey with black stripes, which is usually how i recognize him. he has both armwarmers and legwarmers, and the fluff around his shoulders usually follow the stripes.
Tumblr media
Tugger and Mistoffelees are easy! Tugger is the only cat who has a mane and belt, and the mane is visible even in the worst of qualities.
Tumblr media
for example, here (gif by @junkyard-gifs ) you can see all three! Mistoffelees has just turned and is walking away, Tugger comes running in and Munkustrap is the cat at the front. for Tugger it’s just like i said, the mane is the easiest way to recognize him. Mistoffelees is all black, with a white spot on his chest and usually he has one or two white legwarmers, and his armwarmers are often white on one arm and black on the other. the ears on his wig are often white, at least at the tip. since he is the only black cat it’s easy to tell it’s him.
for Mistoffelees (and Tugger), it’s also worth noting that their appearance change during the show. most of the time, Mistoffelees look like this (left picture) but during his solo song he changes to this (right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tugger on the other hand (ignoring the recent us tours) appears without his mane and belt + a different wig in the first songs, but wears it through the rest of the show.
Tumblr media
it looks like this, but as you can see, he still has the leopard spots and wears neither arm- or legwarmers, so he's still easy to make out.
Tumblr media
now, in this group photo, you can see all of them. Mistoffelees has a black wig, and the contrast between black and white makes him easy to spot (except the white cat, he is the only cat to have an almost completely white face). Tugger is brown, and as always you can go by the mane. Munkustrap is grey and the stripes on his chest are easy to make out. (bonus points if you can spot Demeter and Bombalurina)
Tumblr media
another group photo, this time in black and white. once again, Mistoffelees is at the front - his wig being completely black is enough on its own, but the white on his chest + the black costume is what i go by. Munkustrap and Tugger are at the back, Munkustrap next to Old Deuteronomy and Tugger at the left end. for Tugger, in this case, it’s the leopard spots i go by. for Munkustrap it’s the collar, the makeup (his makeup usually include/follow the stripes on his wig) + the look of the shoulder fluff (you can only see a little, but enough to tell that it goes in stripes).
as a final note, most cats are white on their stomach/back. this doesn't apply to any of these three cats, except Mistoffelees; Munkustrap is grey and it’s the lack of stripes that make his stomach and back appear lighter, and Tugger has the leopard spots instead. and unlike most cats, Mistoffelees white is only at his chest and doesn't go all the way down his stomach and is usually in a very triangle shape.
all the photos are from the wiki.
