Dan heng received a mysterious mail. The letter was cased in a beautiful elegant white and gold envelope. The envelope is decorated with small real golden roses and gold stripes decorating the sides of the envelope. The effort can be seen on the envelope alone about how.. How much emotion is put into this letter.

The letter itself is nothing short of elegance, the hand writing is.. Uniquely familiar to dan heng for some reason. But he couldn't tell why. The letter was unsigned and it is fully unknown who the sender is and how it arrived here.

My dearest dragon,

I wish to be able to stand by your side.. Though you may not remember me, no, i know that you don't remember be, but alas i am indeed was once, and is still, you, your past self's, imbibitor lunae's husband. His "mate" If you will.

My heart broke when i heard the news that he was sent to the shackling prison for a forced rebirth. And it broke even more when i heard that he, well, you, will be banished from the luofu. It has been decades, yet i still wish to be able to see you again. To be able to hold my, was once, lover again.

You don't know how happy- no, ecstatic i was when i accidentally saw you in the devine commission. You looked different, but also the same at the same time. I know it's you, dan feng. We were once, and is still bonded. I wanted to approach you, to hug you, to hold you again. But i hesitated, fearing that i might just be hallucinating. Or that you might no even remember me.

The latter was confirmed when you just asked me for directions, seemingly not recognizing who i am. It broke me deeply, but i do not wish to bring my burdens of the past over to you.

Therefore with this letter, this will be my final and last words dedicated to you. Dedicated to my, was once, lover.

the events at the xianzhou luofu was certainly draining to the astral express crew. if not, more so to certain someone of the crew than the rest simply because it brought back so many old and unfamiliar memories to him. unfamiliar memories, feelings and emotions rushing through him with so much vigor, ones that doesn’t even belonged to him but to someone else entirely. so it would be safe to say that dan heng wanted nothing to do with his past reincarnation and his feelings and memories.

but you can’t just get what you wish for, right?

even after coming back to the familiar warmth of the express and its surroundings, accompanied by the feeling of safety his companions bring, dan heng was still restless. there was this… odd feeling inside him. as if something had been awakened and was begging to be let out for an inkling of a moment ever since he asked a stranger with an eerily familiar face about directions on the xianzhou.

he tried to escape the weird feeling of deja vu by sleeping yet it only served to bring more torment rather than rest that he so desperately seek. in his dreams, he would see his past self — dan feng, with the old familiar faces that he always sees.

there’s the foxian woman — bright, cheerful and full of life — jumping around, giggling at things and bringing forth joy to the group of five. there’s the light blue haired woman, whom he later on recognized as jingliu — cold as the element she wields and yet with a certain hint of warmth alongside it, sipping on wine from the small jade cup. there’s the arrogant blacksmith, yingxing and the former self of blade before he was tainted by mara — laughing along with his friends, pointing a few fingers and saying a joke. there’s jing yuan — younger, more wild, rebellious and with a certain hints of cockiness that his current jaded self lacked.

and then there’s dan feng, his past reincarnation, the one who brought this suffering and pain onto him, the one who is refusing to let him live on, the one who is so cold and cruel and… huh? was he mistaken when counting? why had this group went from 5 to 6? who was this new face amongst the group?

this new face that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere in his dreams, or was it memories?, was kind and gentle yet carrying a hint of strength under it. seemingly a simple man at first glance but proving himself to be more with the way he carried himself. elegant, regal yet so humane. this new man approached dan feng, greeting his fellow friends and comrades with a few jokes and podding here and there as he reaches the former high elder. but when reaching the high elder, the two shared a kiss. the vidyadhara visibly softening, teal eyes staring at the man with hearts in his eyes as his tail wraps around the man’s ankle possessively.

ah, that explains it. they were lovers. or in vidyadhara terms, in dan feng’s eyes, his mate. his other half. the one he promised himself and his life to for the rest of his life. the soft teal colored mark of a dragon on the back of the man’s neck proved it.

seeing them, dan heng felt an odd emotion swirling in his chest. was he… jealous? but how could be jealous when he was dan heng and not his past self? he was dan heng, not dan feng and that man was not his mate. yet he still felt it. that annoying green monster swirling in his chest and refusing to leave. but his jealousy was at least slightly explained when he woke up that morning, with the strange letter on top of his currently reading book.

teal eyes skimming through the letter, taking in every word and syllable, rereading it over and over again, did he come to a conclusion. sudden and unexpected but the astral expressers accepted and supported his decision nonetheless.

“himeko, i need to visit the luofu for… a reason. there’s someone i would like to meet. again”

with that, the dragon set out to reunite with his husband. with his mate. just a single moment to clarify the person’s words on the letter — was what he was lying to himself about. when in truth, he knew that there was more to it. the dragon wanted to meet his husband again. the dragon wished to hold his mate again. dan heng, wanted to reunite with his lover again.

“and this time, nothing will tear us apart”

This was proof you needed better gloves. The ones you had were fine for metal work, but the precise nature of wiring couldn't be done with such a bulky set.

Your fingers were still numb, but the throbbing in your hand served as a reminder they wouldn't stay that way for long. Small blessings, still the open cut and small burns were nothing to sneeze at.

"Kriff," you grumbled, giving yourself a second to lean against the wall of the ship. Obviously you needed to get this taken care of, but the pain was still to immediate. There was no way you were climbing up the ladder until you got your head on straight.

"Everything okay down there," Din called from the cockpit.

"Yeah. Can you just throw me down the med pack?"

There was a small shuffle above you. Carefully you rose to your feet, readying yourself to catch the bag with your one good hand. It didn't make any different as, instead, Din came climbing down.

"Dank farrik," he swore, his head turning to your hand. "What happened?"

You shrugged. "Bad wiring."

There really wasn't much more to say and neither of you were one for unnecessary conversation.

He guided you back to a sitting position before pulling out a bacta patch and some other bandages.

"Let me see," he said, offering a gloved hand to you.

You suppressed the warm feeling that bloomed inside you at the gesture. This wasn't necessarily new. You and Din had traveled together long enough for you to know his instinct was to help. All the same, the reminder was enough to send your heart pounding.

Wordlessly, you extended your injured hand, allowing him to examine it. Rough leather brushed against your skin. In an instant, your skin felt like it was burning as a shock of pain shot straight up your arm.

You pulled away with a small yelp, the pressure of tears forming in your eyes.

"Shit!" you gasped, forcing steady breaths back into you.

"Are you okay?" Din asked, concern lacing his tone.

You managed a nod. "Yeah, just more sensitive than I thought."

He nodded in understanding, before doing something you never thought you'd see. He took off his gloves.

"What are you doing?" you asked.

"They're irritating your skin," he said, simply. "I'll be able to work faster this way."

You couldn't think of a counter argument. It was that line of thinking that got you into this mess in the first place.

Your eye became focus on his hands. You had only gotten glimpses of his skin before as it peaked out between his wrist and glove, but never so openly.

"Is this allowed?" you asked.

"Yes," he answered. "Of course, it means we have to get married."

"What?!"

A short laugh came for behind his helmet. You honestly didn't know whether to laugh yourself or smack him.

"Ha, ha, very funny buckethead," you said dryly.

He only chuckled, extending his now naked hand towards you.

Whatever awkward tension that might have lingered vanished with the sound. You placed your injured hand in his and felt only the slighted sting at his touch. You only hoped he blamed your quickened pulse on the pain.

Din made quick work of the rest, applying the bacta patch before carefully wrapping your hand like he had been doing it his whole life. In truth, he probably had.

"How does it feel?" he asked, tying off the last of the gauze.

"Still stings," you admitted, "but, not as bad as before."

"Good."

If he was going to leave, now would be the perfect time. You waited for it, mentally preparing yourself for the loss of his hand on yours. Still, he lingered, allowing his fingers to brush against the bare skin of your wrist.

The tilt of his helmet wasn't on you. He seemed just as preoccupied with your hand as you were with his. How could a man like him still have so gentle a touch?

"Din?"

He looked up at you and you found yourself wishing once more you could see his face, just to give you some glimpse into what he was thinking.

"You need new gloves," he said, stiffly. "We don't want this happening again."

"Can't argue with that," you answered, not really knowing what else to say. On the one hand, yes, the idea of burning yourself wasn't one you look forward to. On the other, under what other circumstance would he touch you like this?

A pause came, holding itself in the air between you. There was the urge to say something, but for the life of you, nothing came to mind. All you wanted was to stay.

Din ended up making the decision for you as he rose to his feet, finally pulling away. He grabbed his gloves and in the next moment was up the ladder and out of sight.

You let out a deep breath, falling against the wall of the ship.

Now what the hell were you going to do?

It was a late night at Nelson and Murdock.

Foggy and Karen had already gone home, for some much needed rest while Matt stayed behind to go over the notes of the case. It was where you found him, practically in the dark of the tiny office, the smell of burnt coffee in the air.

"Y/N, what are you doing here?"

You didn't ask how he knew it was you. After so much time together, it would be stranger if he didn't.

"Foggy told me you were staying late."

Matt frowned, before realization took over his face.

"I meant to call..." he started, but you both knew the truth. He had forgotten about your date.

"It's fine," you brushed off. It wasn't, entirely, but you understood. Matt's work was important to him. Hell, it was something you encouraged and that meant sometimes date nights took a back seat.

"I brought food," you said, holding up the plastic bag. "My guess is you haven't eaten today."

A guilty look passed over his features. "I was going to order something."

You gave a hum of doubt before taking a seat beside him and pulling out the food.

A small silence fell between you, broken only by the sound of rustling plastic and cardboard containers. You wordlessly passed him a pair of chopsticks, but were stopped when he hand clasped around yours.

"I am sorry."

His tone gave you pause. There was real regret there. His touch was cautious as if he expected you to suddenly pull away.

"I know I..." He swallowed. "This probably wasn't what you pictured when we started all this."

Your heart squeezed in your chest. Carefully, you pulled your hand from his before placing it against his cheek.

His whole body relaxed into your touch as a relieved breath escaped his lips.

You took the opportunity, to lean forward, brushing a gentle kiss to his lips.

"I know what I signed up for," you promised. "We've got this."

He raised a tentative eyebrow. "We?"

"Yeah. We."

He smiled. It was a small, quite thing, but real and just for you. He then kissed you back, keeping his forehead pressed against yours as he broke away.

"Thank you."

You stayed there a while, allowing you each a chance to breathe and forget anything else in the world existed. You would be okay.

it’s been a rough week, ngl. and I just got more sad news but I’m so thankful for y’all. This means so much to me. I’ve been feeling like I’ve been failing in a lot of areas in my life lately and super depressed. But I come on here and y’all give me so much motivation and happiness when it comes to writing! I’m so grateful that y’all are always reblogging/commenting on my stuff and following me. It means so much.

.⋆｡Anniversaries and Milestones｡⋆.

Two years ago today, I published the first chapter of the Lost Princess and subsequently began taking writing seriously. I had no plans to ever send my work out into the world or even write fanfiction at all but my cousin (who has always been my greatest supporter) told me seriously that if I enjoy reading it and I have ideas, then there is no harm in putting myself out there. It was because of her that I got the courage to do all of this, and for that, I am so incredibly grateful.

One story tumbled into two and then ten, and then suddenly I had a following I was spending every free moment I had honing my abilities and practicing my writing. I met some of my best friends in the world through this blog and I will never be able to thank them enough for all the love that they have given me over the past two years. I also rediscovered my love for writing and now, I'm doing a minor in creative writing alongside the most incredible people I have ever met.

Writing let me reclaim parts of myself that were stolen from me, it let me get out all those feelings and experiences I had buried and contend with them. I have grown confident over the past couple years, shedding the shame and embarrassment I felt over my size and realising that my value is not defined by the number on the scale or the labels on my clothes. Even my family, who were some of the first to impose those thoughts upon me, have noticed that I'm different- happier, and it's all because of you guys.

It was honestly a shock to me when I woke up this morning to see that over 5000 of you were following me. I could have never dreamed that a fanfiction about Jotun Loki (who I was violently thirsting over at the time) and a plus size reader could have changed my life so much but here we are.

Because of this blog, I finally worked up the courage to pursue a degree that I was really passionate about. Because of this blog, I was able to move on from my abusive ex and rediscover my sexuality and my boundaries. Because of this blog, I was brave enough to put myself out there and make friends at uni and they are now the people I see myself growing older with. Because of this blog, I have found my purpose.

I will never be able to thank you all enough for the way you have changed me and I can only hope that you'll be around next year, and the year after that, and even after that to see me become the person I am meant to be.

Hm, so that's a thing. How long has it been... 10 years I think?

The fact that there are 5,000 of you (and perhaps even 1,000 of you are actually active!) is pretty incredible considering the fact that I don't really... do anything on here lol.

I mean, I think my biggest contributions are probably my feminism and trans activism, if anything.
