Time to cast some magic and see what we’ll get!✨

Bear: The purrs are loud with this one as your lips sweetly press against the little cracks and dents in his bones. At least, as long as you stay away from the gaping hole in his skull. It’s way too sensitive for your lips, not to mention, the edges are sharp. Bear would feel so bad if you accidentally cut yourself on it.

Don’t get me started on when you start to throw praises and doting on him with words into the mix, my will be man is a goner plain and simple.

Of course, in the beginning when you start to do this, Bear short-circuits and needs to process what you just did. But he will always accept any affection you want to give him. Only when you move on or leave Bear to his own thoughts do the intrusive little buggers start to plague him with insecurities.

They range from jabs at his conditions, his appearance and past. Trying to pick him apart and disprove all the praises and love you’ve just given him. Ever the stubborn man who struggles with it internally, refusing to burden anyone else with it, tries to push through it and ignore his thoughts. Which has never helped him at all - one would think he finally gets that it's not healthy or helpful behavior after so long of doing it and it backfiring in his face.

Luckily, Bean is observant and perceptive, knowing his dear brother like no other, helpfully nudges him open. (By playing the we-will-always-be-truthful-to-each-other-card…No one ever said that Bean doesn’t play dirty. If it helps his brother in the long run, he’s making use of it). And of course, it helps. Once he opened up to you about it and you two found a way to not trigger his intrusive thoughts - by spreading your praises and scar kissings throughout the day instead of all in one go - Bear will always readily accept any affections you give him.

Bean: At the start of the relationship - when monsters haven’t surfaced all that long ago - Bean noticed you had gotten way more affectionate towards him than you had been before. Which, of course, isn’t a bad thing; everyone is different and some people just get more touchy and lovey when in a romantic relationship. But it did lightly trigger his skepticism like a knee-jerk reaction.

Back in the underground…well, let’s just say that Bean has a good reason why he looks for meanings behind certain actions and behavior thanks to some who acted nice not out of the goodness of their soul or heart.

It’s not your fault of course, nor could Bean be at fault.

Just something from the past that Bean took with him to the surface.

You don’t have to worry however, he knows you well enough to know that you don’t have any ulterior motive with your affections. So for Bean it will be easy enough to push those reflexive skeptical thoughts aside, or rationalize them.

Once he gets used to it, he’ll return the favor. You want to kiss Bean’s scars? Go right ahead, while you’re doing that, Bean will place skelekisses on your marked skin. Tracing his phalanges sweetly over the dents and lighter or darker lines on your body, while he himself shivers slightly as your lips press against the cracks on his bones. It’s a very sweet and domestic quality time between the two of you. It becomes even better when either one of you had been having a tough day, building each other up with each tender kiss.

Bean cannot quite imagine a life without your sweet, sweet kisses. He treasures them and you deeply.

Rust: It’s a healing feeling that Rust at first didn’t know what to do with. He stood there, frozen while you kissed his scars. Trying to process what’s going on inside him and what you’re doing. There had been times when Rust stared at you with his sometimes unnerving unblinking gaze before asking “…why?”.

It’s a slow progress of him getting used to it, but it’s so worth it in the end.

Now, Rust knows and been with you long enough to know when you’re about to shower him in praises and kisses. To say he adores those times is an understatement. He wants to completely lean and sag against you as you nuzzle him. Whispering sweet nothings in his non-existent ear while you kiss every crack, scar and dent that litters his face.

But there’s a time that is his favorite when you decide to pamper him like this. And that is when the two of you lie in bed together, either when waking up in the morning, or going to sleep or just cuddling together. With you either snuggled up to his side or lying on his bare chest (yes he has shoved some pillows inside his ribcage to make it more comfortable for you. And yes it feels weird to have those things inside his ribs but anything for you, not that he would say it out loud.)

It feels warm, it feels intimate. The way you look at him in the eyelight, murmuring so sweetly as you stroke your fingers across his scarred ribs and bones. And you do without a motive, you just want to do this. Showing Rust love and care he had never thought he’d wanted, desired, craved or needed. And oh, how he needed and craved it. Your love is like a silky cloth that gets softly pulled across his bones like a gentle wave. It’s a liquid warmth that fills the cracks and mental scars putting him back together like one does a treasured vase with golden glue.

Thatch: Oh, oh gosh… Thatch doesn’t know what to do with this, honestly. His mind cannot really wrap around it? After all, how could he deserve such love from you that you just want to shower him with praises and kiss the cracks in his face and ribs? How is he supposed to function when you take his prosthetic arm and hand in yours and kiss the fingers and knuckles so tenderly? Never taking your eyes - that are full of so, so much love that he is undeserving of - off his own sockets.

You know of his past, he knows you do, he has told you himself that night full of so many tears and vulnerability. So Thatch can’t really grasp that despite it all, despite you knowing what he did, the monster that he is in every single way possible, you still hold him as if he deserves something. As if he deserves to be loved, that he deserves to be reassured.

You’re breaking him in even tinier little pieces, unraveling him at the seams, slowly but surely, until all that's left of him…and you’re putting him back together with such care and gentle hands and lips with every touch, with every kiss and words of praise.

It’s after a long time that Thatch slowly starts to be able to mentally accept the affections you wish to bestow upon him. And it’s after an even longer time that he manages to push the little voice in the back of his mind that whispers; ‘they don’t truly mean that, they don’t truly love you. It’s just pity,’ away.

You know, I think Killer getting reunited with his brother after his escape with Color would be really interesting, whether it goes well or horribly wrong.

If it goes well, it would be really interesting to see how Something New Paps deals with Killer not really being his brother (though I am of the idea that he'd love Killer for Killer as well. I just also think it would mean him grieving his brother yet again. This time knowing he'll never have his brother back). It would also be cool to see how he'd get along with the Epic Sanses. I also really would love to see explored what his tentative new dynamic with Killer might be, and how that may change Killer's dynamic with the others too (would he be less codependent with Color with Paps in the picture? Or would he just become dependent on both?).

If it goes horribly, well, it would be interesting to see exactly how horribly. Would Killer panic enough to kill him again? How would he react to that after so long? Would Killer even believe that that's his brother? Would he just deny everything and turn away and then be haunted by the possibilities forever?

I just hhhhhhhh. I've been thinking about them so much. I've never see content about them explored, ever, and the possibilities are giving me brainrot

Yes! This is the stuff I want to see with killer from this fandom. Not more of the same! Let me watch these doomed siblings suffer or heal. The angst having to grief the person you never knew you lost while they’re right in front of you, looking at you, looking through you—only it’s something else with your loved one’s face. Uncanny valley im telling you.

I personally think Papyrus will have a difficult time actually accepting that his brother is gone. Hed subconsciously see signs in Killer—same smile, same twist of the corner of the mouth even if the nature of the smile is different from when Sans told an awful pun, because now Killer is smiling like that when he tells horrible stories he seems to think aren’t horrific at all.

I think how this reunion unfolds definitely depends on the exact situation. If Killer is still trapped under Nightmare or not, or if Color has rescued him.

And if Papyrus has any memory of what Killer did to him and everyone else—because Killer did spend years upon years murdering and horrifically torturing Papyrus and all the others as if they were nothing more than toys.

Killer could look at him, and all Papyrus could see is that empty, dead eyed look as he screams and cries while Killer breaks his bones. As if Killer didn’t recognize who Papyrus was, and if he didn’t care who he was.

And Papyrus, how his reactions during those times could’ve affected Killer. He was in unimaginable pain, terror, and confusion. Hatred and anger and spite are understandable reactions. What are some things he might’ve said to Killer during these moments that stuck with Killer? Begging and pleading, cursing and screaming? Attempting to get Sans to “remember who he is”?

As the world Reset around Killer, did others eventually start changing too? Even if only in small easily missed ways, even if they forgot by the next Reset. Chara and Killer were always in search of something new, after all.

Could Killer trust himself at all around Papyrus? Or would he immediately start thinking about how he has killed him before, how Papyrus could be here for revenge or even worse—for Sans.

Would some part of Killer despise Papyrus for being weak enough to forgive him, just like he always did for the human? Would Killer feel the need to kill Papyrus again—believing it’s what it has to do to prevent something even worse (Stage 4), or perhaps out of panic as you mentioned, or even that anger at Papyrus or just the unimaginable confusion and stress and pain that Papyrus’ presence brings (Stage 3).

Would Papyrus’ presence disjoint Killer’s “placement” in time.

Would seeing him make Killer think he’s back in the Underground with Chara, and thus Papyrus is another enemy he has to deal with. Would he be unable to accept that the Papyrus in front of him is his Papyrus, or would he think it’s just one Papyrus out of a gazillion more, and therefore not worth wasting energy on?

I can definitely see Stage 1 being reluctant to actually be around Papyrus. Not because he hates him or is disgusted by his “weakness” and not even because he thinks he has to kill Papyrus—although he’s very aware that some parts of him very likely do think those things—not only because he can’t trust his own mind, his own desires, but also because he just..feels horrible around Papyrus.

He idealized this image of Papyrus and the life he thinks they used to have, but he has changed. He has done a lot of things. He couldn’t even accept a hug from Papyrus for very long without pushing him away in tears. I think he’d definitely benefit from having his brother back in his life, although I doubt it’d be a very frequent thing.

I can see many instances where guilt, fear, and shame just leads to him trying to “hide” from his emotions in Stage 2, which leads to the usual avoidance behaviors. Which may also lead to him subconsciously blaming Papyrus for being able to have any effect on him at all—given how Stage 2 views it when situations and people are able to make him “feel” anything. As if they are attempting to control him.

So many interesting possibilities—especially given how much Papyrus may know. How much knowledge is he working off?

I'm not getting into cookie run! I don't play the games or know any of the lore. Nor am I particularly motivated to really learn much about it on my own time..

I want to clarify that I just really liked the art style! <:D All the colors and themed characters,, it looked really fun! So I scraped together all the knowledge I needed to make some characters for it and then stopped there..

Now I'm not against people rambling in my ask box and doing all the lore research for me.. 👀💅.. just saying that I'm not going out of my way to learn the cookie run lore on my own time- <XDD

Aw, I'm really sorry actually. I felt the same way in the end. I felt like having this really creepy and twisted story with Papyrus as the focus was interesting and fun!.. But not giving him any kind of salvation.? That made it not fun anymore. It was just plain sad. :(

And don't worry about the "possible" part. Its totally canon now XD Papyrus canonically gets yoinked from his sad AU and finds peace with his new friends. :)

As for Seam and Jevil, its.. complicated.

They kiiind'a keep him at arms length..? And its mostly due to the trauma they associate with him and the fact they feel so bad for having abandoned him. They just don't know what to say..

But of course, Papyrus has such a big heart. He fully understands that they're not super comfortable around him just yet. So he kindly gives them space and avoids the subject around them.

Not to worry though. Eventually the tension will dissolve and he will build true friendships with the both of them. :)

XDD Ok so the story with that is-- in my Sister Location AU I'm thinking that William Afton is using his circus as a front to go from town to town murdering kids..

What I mean about Funtime Freddy being safe to hug "for now".. is that I haven't fully decided if I want William to murder kids by having the animatronics snatch them up.. Ooorr if he just uses them/the circus as one big lure and distraction and does all the murdering himself.

So far I kiiind'a like the idea that the animatronics are innocent and aren't used as tools to murder kids. But that could change. So Freddy is safe to hug!.. For now.. :)

If they somehow ended up there they'd probably just hide in the shadows. If it seems safe and they can find food? They'll stay a while! :}

I wish I actually had anything to tell you XD those 3 characters are a bit underdeveloped--

So far though I've planned that Urchin and Cuttlefish are besties. Think Bratty and Catty from Undertale..? I had plans for Cuttlefish to be an experienced pirate that came from another crew. She somehow became indebted to Seafoam and by the time she paid her debt.. she was really attached to the crew. So she stuck around.

Though with her personality being sly and crafty.. I would expect her to find a way to slip through the crew fingers and escape instead of paying her debt. Soooo that backstory might be given to another character or at least has to be altered in some way..

For Spider Crab I'm playing around with the idea that he is the crews medic. Also I think him, Louis and Octo would be friends. I can see Louis always dragging Spider into doing fun activities with the rest of the crew XD Also Him and Octo are close becuase they both understand/respect each others space... that and Octo isn't loud and obnoxious like Louis is XDD

Yknow, despite how it is impossible by all Ingame options, I wonder how a neutral route with *ONLY* Sans (and Asgore ig) killed would look? Would he count enough as a boss monster (NOT a Boss Monster) to push it from a Queen Toriel ending to an Empress Undyne ending? How would Alphys react (She lost one of her closest friends, but she still has MTT and Undyne around.)? How would Papyrus react (Would he go full angst mode and try close away his heart? Would he become even more of a people pleaser, trying to make sure he doesn't repeat whatever mistake he made with you again? Would he go into denial mode, trying to find Flowey to set things right with him either finding him or not based on what Frisk choses after the FloweyX fight? So many choises), especially with how he seems to Know Something he doesn't let on. I'd imagine that (provided it's a Queen Toriel Ending) Undyne wouldn't be thar affected, sad that Papyrus lost a brother rather than sad that Sans died (she never is close with Sans. She doesn't hate him, but she doesn't know him as more than "Papyrus weird brother" and "My sentry that works the ABSOLUTE bare minimum needed"). I don't think mettaton would appear or be affected, leaving the call pretty limited. So we have Papyrus and Maybe Undyne, with Papyrus probably being... kinda miffed that everything is going along the same, as if Everything hasn't changed. Bonus points if it's Post Dates, leaving a pretty aimless Undyne moving into Sans room, trying to fill a void that she never can. It isn't some threat she can suplex or teach to cook, it's the world being unfair.

(This also would give a pretty Unique Undyne state, being halfway between her "I don't like that you had to kill Asgore, but it's what you had to do" mindset and her more common "You betrayed me in such a soul crushing way it'll affect how I love forever" mindset in most Neutral Endings. I can imagine her actually trying to rationalise it, because the human only killed Asgore (sucks but she Gets It), and... Sans. The easiest enemy, one too weak to make it into the guard, and almost too weak to be a Sentry (Sans would have no reason to reveal Blasters, and his magic would barely scratch the TRUE HERO of the Underground when Karma is factored in. All she would see is surprisingly complex patterns that don't deal even a tenth of her hp). So surely, they had a reason, right? Why else would they do it?)

can't not confess I've thought about it too, but it IS really hard to extend as a concept because there's just... really no way for sans to die outside of the NM run. and I don't mean logistically, i mean character-wise he is so defined by his survival. by his Being There as everything falls apart. the final girl last man standing in the story. so the whole concept immediately falls apart.

undyne wouldn't personally grieve him, seeing as they didn't really know each other, but she WOULD still feel his death on her conscience as she does with every other monster killed in neutral runs. plus, there's her friendship with papyrus to emotionally aggravate things.

papyrus would definitely go into denial. he would be annoyed about him vanishing all of a sudden, then it'd turn to worry, then as his worries become more and more plausible, he'd shut out all rational thought about the subject and pretend everything is alright. i like the idea of him reaching out to flowey, but he'd try to explain his plan while also comtradicting himself all the time in order to never say outloud "sans is dead. we need to fix this"

betrayed undyne... yeah this is where it falls apart again, since you'd have to reason why sans would die (or even instigate a fight at all) in the final corridor during what has so far been a flawless pacifist run.

buuut pushing past the visceral resistance to the concept. i can easily see a scene where the betrayal pushes her to lose it and seek revenge like it does in normal neutral runs, and her looking to papyrus for training help/human destroying plans. and just... meeting a Wall of denial. that would be a harrowing talk. something people don't mention enough is that papyrus sees himself as sans' caretaker as much if not even more than sans does towards him. a world where sans is dead is a world where he failed his brother. it would devastate him. so he clings to anything not to think about it/delude himself. and here comes undyne ready to shatter that fragile hope. it would be a horrible moment between them

but yeah. everything aside, sans would straight up just not die lol.

✨ The space-loving scientist S/O [with a lovely sunshine personality] mysteriously disappeared one night, they're never to be seen ever again, that is until after so many years suddenly a spaceship crashes into a forest near their home in the middle of the night. When skelly comes to investigate, finally... He saw S/O... Injured and large scars all over, on their face and body, ones old and new, they looked so SO exhausted, their body trembles, dark eye bags under their eyes but as S/O stood up, their eyes widens in shock yet light up happily upon seeing skelly. Despite that they were hurt badly, blood dripping and body aching, it was hard to move, although, they couldn't care less at all, the love of their life they've been deeply longing for was in front of them even if so much time has passed, they ran, or at least tried to with the state that they're in, limping and reaching towards skelly sobbing... Skelly allows S/O to hug him, they both fell and broke down, S/O then muttered "My l-love...I-I'm finally home.." and quietly apologizing for everything...

S/O later explains that they were kidnapped by terrible and horrible aliens after accidentally wandering into their territory at night and forced to be their test subject and slave as punishment, spending such a long time being tortured constantly, forced to do terrible things for them and things they didn't want to do, however, S/O persevered, knowing that if S/O gave up and died then only the shitty aliens would win so they tried so hard and fought back that turned the situation into an endless war, surviving through it all, changing the sweet and kind sunshine who dreamt of reaching the stars to a tired soldier... All they ever thought of and dreamt was only to come back home, reuniting with their love...

[Hi!!! I apologize for writing this so long but I just had to tell ever detail because this idea had been stirring inside and rotting my brain with soo much angst! XD]

Undertale Sans - He's horrified. Honestly, he just assumed he did something wrong all these years that made you run away, he could never imagined, well, that. First, he teleports you to the hospital, then he warns Asgore because, uh, that seems like a serious situation a King should know about you know. He's not leaving your side after this, simply holding your hand as you recover. He doesn't know what more he can do to help, but at least, he can listen and be here for you. He won't stop apologizing for not being there when you needed it, even though he can't really go to space so there's not much he could do.

Undertale Papyrus - He's completely in shock. Papyrus assured everyone you were alive and didn't stop looking after you all these years, even though his brother and Undyne told him he was just hurting himself for nothing. Turns out he was right all along and just didn't think to check space, silly him. Welp, that happened. Sometimes everyone thinks you're dead, sometimes you get kidnapped by aliens. That's life. Now that it's over, everyone can turn the page and never leave again because he's now full of insecurities and literally terrified you will never get home when you go get groceries :D But he's fine, he hides it very well (no).

Underswap Sans - Omg. You fought aliens all this time and he was not there to see this. He's jealous, well, not too much of the "I was a lab rat part" but all the other sides. You went into space, and you beat up aliens! Is your spaceship still working? He wants to beat up aliens too! He's glad you're back home, and he won't stop asking questions. He has trouble understanding you need to recover from all this and that talking that much about this traumatizing experience is definitely not helping.

Underswap Papyrus - He breaks down in your arms. He doesn't care what happened, he's just so happy. He got confused after you disappeared, than angry, then sad, then depressed and he was very close from falling down because he couldn't understand why you left. He kept believing, just a little, that maybe you would come home someday, and he's so glad you did eventually. He's horrified when he learns you got basically tortured for years, but he is also in awe about how you managed to go home by yourself. He won't stop crying for a few weeks. He needs to recover as well.

Underfell Sans - He doesn't even know what to say. He grew angry after you, thinking you gave up on him like many before you and that he got tricked into a false feeling of security once again. But now you're back, and apparently, it's all his fault because he didn't think even one second you might have been kidnapped by aliens. He thought about a car accident or something but your car had been found unscathed after a while, he thought of a kidnapping but Edge assured him none of his rivals were in town when it happened, so he just assumed you left. He's not sure how to feel about all of this, he needs some time to think.

Underfell Papyrus - He falls completely silent. He searched for you everywhere. He thought you died somewhere and that he would never see you again. He mourned you. And now you're just... back? He lived the all thing like a giant failure because he wasn't there to protect you and he thought that maybe you got kidnapped and died all alone somewhere. Well, learning you got kidnapped by aliens doesn't help him to feel better, because he felt like it was his role to protect you, and he couldn't prevent this. He's glad you're home, but he is full of insecurities now, wondering if he's the right fit for you if he can't even protect you from something like this.

Horrortale Sans - Oh he was not worried. Willow kept telling him you were gone forever, but he could feel in his soul it was not true and he just kept forgetting you were gone for four years until you actually come back out of nowhere. He's just happy he got his S/O's back, purring like you left the house yesterday. He knew you would come back.

Horrortale Papyrus - Well that's awkward. You landed right next to the tomb he made for you in the forest, right next to Undyne's and Alphys' ones (that was supposed to not exist by the way because Monsterkind refused to give them tombs). Willow just thought it would be nice to have a place to remember you, since there was not really a body to mourn. He's now completely in shock, unsure if you are a ghost or no. Well, there's the spaceship, sure, but, that's a bit unbelievable. He doesn't even know what to say. He's happy, sure, but that doesn't feel real at all for him.

Swapfell Sans - He was really happy to discover you're actually alive and not dead in a ditch somewhere. Well, at least until you tell him you got abducted by aliens. Nox suddenly falls silent, then keeps looking between your face and your stomach. Nah man, that's too much for him. He runs home like the devil is chasing him and locks all the doors and windows. If your stomach needs to explode and deliver some random alien baby that will eat everyone, do it outside. He doesn't want to know. It will take three days to convince him you are in fact not infested with an alien parasite. He still doesn't trust you, but he tolerates you inside lol.

@aka-indulgence and I have spoken extensively about this exact topic lol. Yes, Papyrus is alive- he saved Sans after his injury and does his best to support his brother. But Sans just isn't who he used to be.

As for their relationship... they still bicker, as siblings so often do, but they're much closer than they used to be. Pap is conscious of his brother's state, and is a lot gentler with him, often actively taking on a carer role. In Aka's words; 'Their relationship has matured a little, they still have their moments of making jabs at each other, but they never have outright fistfights like they used to. Papyrus is much more outwardly caring towards Sans and doesn’t even playfully criticize him like he used to. When Sans is having issues Papyrus is on it.'

Pap knows about his brother's 'crush' because Sans wouldn't stop fucking talking about her. But aside from that, the behavioural change was noticeable. For one, Sans was actively going outside- absolutely unheard of. But he was also dressing nicer... his mood seemed improved. His temper seemed better. And though Sans has his moments of SHE'LL NEVER LOVE ME angst, his affections have made him start to act a little more like him again.

Pap is supportive. He likes seeing his brother happier, he likes that the object of those affections is an honest hard worker. But he's still the same Papyrus- you can count on him to accompany Sans to the bar and say "REALLY? THIS IS THE ONE YOU'RE SO OBSESSED WITH??" so loudly that Sans just puts his head in his hands and wishes he would melt into the table.

I have seen a few whump/angst Aus involving Papyrus as a Gaster Blaster, or Papyrus owning Blasters. They’re pretty good and I agree that I wish there needs to be more of them.

In a fic I used to write, We Need To Talk, I did have Papyrus as a Gaster Blaster. I will have to get back to finishing that fic eventually, been putting it off for years due to lack of inspiration and lots of anxiety.

For the past few days I have been plagued by thoughts of that alternate horrorfell concept that I cannot for the life of me remember if I talked abt here or not. There's the original one (not like, the first ever, just mine), then the "revamp" that's more just an alternate version since I'm still very attached to the original, and then this version, kind of like...a partial redemption version. I think I may have mentioned it briefly before but ?

In case I haven't, or never got into it too much, this is the gist

At some point between bad and worse, but before it gets its worst, Papyrus actually successfully leads a rebellion against Undyne, winding up with him as King now, Undyne imprisoned, and Sans as his right hand. I believe the primary divergence was that the blow Undyne dealt to Papyrus' head wasn't as severe, so he was able to recover and retain more of himself in the process, leading to the whole successful rebellion thing.

I can't remember exactly how things started improving exactly, but I do know it involved their version of Aliza. It's her sacrifice that seals the deal and enables them to start re-stabilizing as a society. It's not perfect by any means, but it's...better than where they were headed.

It takes a while for Papyrus to really earn trust amongst the people, understandably, but he does, slowly, get there. He even manages to mostly rehabilitate Undyne, but she is barred from holding any positions within the guard or any others that might involve earning more LV.

Since they weren't forced to rely on humans and animals, the mutations never reached the same levels as in standard HF, making them somewhere in between those designs and their former uf selves.

It's still pretty rough around the edges, and everyone is even more screwed up now, but it's certainly better off than regular hf.

Mostly recently, I haven't been thinking up any new lore for it or anything, just daydreaming about their day to day, or maybe random angst or mv scenarios. Would love to. draw them some day. On the fence of if they would have the same hf nicknames or not...

Have you ever read an anti-harem situation about the skele-bros? What are your personal thoughts on it? (If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically the opposite of a harem where all the love interests hate MC and are typically in love with someone else.)

Would something like that ever happen to HND? Same meeting, but when they move in, it’s revealed they’re all already dating some bitch but they don’t realize it? Would MC step in? Would the guys go to here for advice or comfort? If you aren’t comfortable, you can delete this but I’m curious!

I have never heard of this concept but I sort of love it. It’s like a giant enemy to lovers and has such great potential. I actually have something like this planned for one of the new skeletons joining. Not exactly this but they are not going to get off on the right foot. 

If HND started like this though it could have been really interesting. I think MC would keep her mouth shut a lot of the time but things keep happening and she keeps getting dragged into the skeleton’s lives. Orange and Sans wouldn’t even try to hide their disdain and Edge and Red would be total jerks! You’d only ever see Berry in work mode (although there could be a fun little spicy scene where MC sees him being tamed by his more than abusive lover as he gets roughly banged against the outside tree) and You would meet Syrups scary side, like you meet full yandere with the threats and the mild injury before he warms up to you. Papyrus and Blue would still be civil but there were a few times at the start where both were obviously annoyed at your presence or input into their lives. The relationship is slow growing between MC and the skeletons but it does slowly grow. 

This Anti Harem thing has so much potential for misunderstandings and angst. Is there one out there for the skeletons? I’d love to read it.

Sans: Sans will end up in a very depressive dip when you die. But luckily there is Papyrus to help him. He understands the principle of the thing; that you couldn’t stay with him forever and that it was your time to go. But, emotionally and mentally he can’t accept it. It’s *unfair*. Why did you have to leave so suddenly?

No matter how much time has passed, Sans will never take a new partner because you were his only one. Because he is not prepared to love so much and have it ripped from him again.

Papyrus: will be able to move on after some mourning and grieving. Can’t stay and mope about the past, plus that wouldn’t be what you would have wanted for him. He’ll have a picture of you surrounded by some plants or stones or stuff you like inside his home as a little memorial. He will greet that picture of you everyday and sometimes he’ll talk to your picture talking about his day and stuff. It’s a comfort for him and a way to pay respects to you. He definitely talks fondly about you when the topic arises. Stuff like: “THEY USED TO ALWAYS JUMP INTO THE PILE OF LEAVES ONCE I’VE GATHERED THEM ALL. AFTERWARDS THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE A MESS AND I WOULD CHIDE THEM BEFORE THEY’D PULL ME INTO TO LEAF PILE TOO.” It’s his way to treasure the memories of you and to look back at the good times. It feels bittersweet for him, but he likes to think that you’re still watching over him.

Papyrus won’t be looking for a new partner specifically, if it happens then it happens. He won’t ever forget you if it does happen, nor will he ever compare the two of you because each is their own person.

Bear: won’t be able to move on for the longest time and it’s not because he doesn’t try, he finds it hard to accept. How could his angel, his tiny, be taken away from him when you just got into his life. To Bear 15 years is a long time yet such a short duration of time. His soul aches and he mourns you by shutting down for a while, afterwards begins the crying. He couldn’t look at a picture of you without the sobs wracking his body. Afterwards comes the need to have anything that remains of you close by, pictures, videos, your likes, your dislikes, your stuff, your favorite smells, anything that reminds him of you.

Once he’s semi functional, he’ll still find himself accidentally making your lunch, or find himself talking to you when you are not there.

Bear will not take any partner.

Bean: With Bean it will heavily depend on how you’ve passed away. If you passed away peacefully due to like old age/without regrets then Bean will be able to move on more easily. He’ll thank life for blessing him with you. He is a bit bitter however, because he always thought he would go first, he deserved to go first actually. But he doesn’t let himself wallow in such dark thoughts.

But if you were torn from life too early and or violently then Bean will have more trouble moving on, it’s possible he won’t move on at all. Bean will need a lot of mourning time and time to cool down from his anger, because why did life rip you from him? Why did it skip him? Why did you have to go through such agony? It’s so unfair.

Bean is an old soul, he’s seen a lot and he’s satisfied with you as his partner. Even though you’re gone he doesn’t want any new relationship.

Red: Oh, Red has it hard. He’s filled with anger, with misery, with hate, with betrayal. He pretty much loses all his progress and regresses almost all the way back to before he left the underground. He drinks his sorrows away, he picks fights, the whole shebang. He’s hurting and he’s desperately trying to hide it, shove it away, throw it out the window, ignore it but it keeps coming back.

It keeps going like this until one day Charon drives him to his bar, which is strange in itself since Charon disapproves that Red keeps getting wasted in bars, but whatever, Red doesn’t care either way. Until he finds out that Charon didn’t drive him to the bar at all, but to a therapist instead. The first time Red just shortcuts away before even getting inside. But Charon is determined. The next time, Charon keeps a hold of him until he’s pushed into the building, and Red shortcuts again. Next time, the therapist greeted him while Charon dragged Red in the building. And the way the therapist looked at him made him feel like a challenge, as if daring to shortcut away again. Which pisses Red off. So he doesn’t shortcut just to prove a point.

He doesn’t talk at all during the first session. The therapist doesn’t talk either after asking if he’s going to say something, sitting there with their hands behind their head. That pissed Red off even more, deciding a personal challenge to try to chase the therapist off. The next session Red started cussing the therapist out, trying to rile them up. It didn’t work.

Next session, he tried getting in their face, tried scaring them, they asked if he was trying to prove something to himself. And that struck something.

The next session, Red started talking a tiny bit, still very aggressive. Slowly opening up bit by bit with each session. Therapy helps quite a lot and he’s slowly returning to the person he was when you were still around. The person you were so proud of. It still hurts, he still can’t find himself to move on. But Red is able to function again.

Red won’t ever take a partner.

Charon: Charon is struggling internally with himself; one side says it’s not his fault, that it’s ok, that it was your time to go and that you were proud of him. The other said he didn’t do enough, hasn’t been good enough. He finds a compromise by finishing any unfinished business you had left behind, fulfilling any last wishes you had written before you went. And after that is finished he can find peace within himself and be able to move on.

Charon will not take a new partner.

Razzle: After a very long struggle of accepting it and grieving and anger, Razzle is barely able to move on. If you weren’t taken by natural causes then Razzle will blame himself for not protecting and taking care of you enough. He’s able to go through life thanks to his brothers Coal and Mastiff supporting him through this, and a therapist.

He will not take a new partner for you are his only one.

Coal: Coal of course misses you a lot, he misses you every day and looks through your pictures often. But he is grateful for the time and memories he had gotten to spend with you. He draws and sketches you often, and in the beginning he’d often find himself addressing you only to remember you are not there. Despite being mostly able to move on, there are moments where he crawls in his bed, hugging your pillow against himself and starts to weep.

Coal, when given a lot of time, will be able to find a new partner but he won’t search for one. He will never forget you either.

Mastiff: Mastiff feels numb with bursts of anger. He’s going out on the field with his work way more, he’s almost never home anymore, always away for his work as a private detective. Coal and Razzle has to force him to stop overworking himself and refuse to acknowledge that you’re really gone. Because if he’s at home he’ll find the house eerily empty despite Coal and Razzle being there. He’ll find it vacant of your presence, he’ll find his bed devoid of your warmth, of your smell, devoid of you. And it only serves as a heart wrenching reminder that you are gone.

It will be a long time before he manages to become semi functional with Coal’s support.

He will not take a new partner. But he did take a lot of flings, especially in the beginning, desperately trying to get his mind off of you, but it doesn’t work, he only feels shame and is left unsatisfied. Once he worked through his pain some more he’ll stop with the flings, he won’t ever take a new partner though.

That is what the man behind the door had told him. Papyrus thought about those words. The more he thought, the more he despised what his SOUL made him feel. It's not like he was incapable of love. No, quite the opposite actually.

It was the Underground that was incapable of love. It was "Oppress or be oppressed" down here. Pacifist is Genocide. MERCY is FIGHT.

Love is Hate

He could not love. How could he in a place that will jail those who voice different opinions? Whatever becomes of those defiant people is never good. As much as he would like to confess, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

So he had locked himself in his room; supplied with only coffee, cream cans, black bread, angst superhero comics, his notepad and pencils.

Meanwhile, you sat in the kitchen as Sans was cooking Farfalle. You sat with your own thoughts. Thoughts of what will become of Temmie and yourself when you leave SNOWDIN. Thoughts of Asgore, who still waited in the RUINS, after losing you, as he lost every human he has encountered. Thoughts of the skeleton brothers. Sans had granted you mercy privately after nearly killing you and locking you in a shed. He had only done so because of your consistent pacifism and since Papyrus had grown fond of you. It took a long time, including Sans giving you a side- eye. He extremely was protective of his brother. You snapped back out of your thoughts when Sans had placed food in front of you. You began picking at it, as your thoughts wouldn't leave you alone. Specifically, those about Papyrus. Although, he never spoke, he did communicate with others through writing on a notepad. Still the silence worried you.

"Papyrus had been in his room for a long time," you said, trying to make it seem normal. You looked up and noticed Sans cross his arms in thought.

"yes. i know and it's making me worried." You both stayed silent for a few minutes.

"You otay," Temmie asked.

"Yeah I'm fine."

"Tem does not belive hooman." You turned to your companion. Smiling slowly, you reassured them that you were fine. Sans left to do something else and you took a few bites of your food. It wasn't enough to block out your own worry. Eventually, you decided to see for yourself if Papyrus was okay. Climbing the stairs, you felt strange feelings in your SOUL. Trying to brush it off, you knocked on the door.

"Hey Papyrus. You okay in there," you asked. Sitting by the door, you heard the faint sound of pencil scratches. A note slipped through the door.

YEAH

"You haven't come out in a while. Is something bothering you?"

NO

You both sat in silence for a while. Then, another note slipped through the door.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LOVE?

You turned your head to the door. A strange question. A very strange question. Still, you told him what you knew.

You were met with silence.

"Why do you ask?" He slid another note.

JUST CURIOUS

"Okay," you replied. Silence again. A faint voice spoke in your head.

You lowered your eyes to the floor. They were right. That is what you felt. The voice pushed you to ask him. You couldn't. As worried as you were, something stopped you.

He probably wants to be left alone, you thought. Slowly, you get up and began to step away from Papyrus's room. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him slip another note. Bending down, you picked up the note.

Your face got warm.

"You like me?" He slipped another note.

Everything began falling into place. The feelings in your SOUL. There were not merely concern, worry or even LV.

It was love.

You agreed. Papyrus was taken by surprise and ran off to prepare. You wondered what surprises that could entail. Still, it would be a pleasant surprise.

Re: overall tumblr top 10: I think it’s funny that my throwaway moodboards are often some of the most popular content on my blog. Things I’m just like ‘ooh I gotta make this’ are mixed in with requests, I think that’s interesting! Ms. Frizzle just blowing away the competition, that’s amazing and I love it. Nothing is even close to how popular she is, and she deserves it. Jack Skellington coming onto the list twice? Come through king, I would love to write a full fic in Halloweentown sometime. 

Generally, the more ‘alternative’ characters seem to get a lot more attention on my blog: The Pumpkin King, Morticia, Wybie, Sundrop and Moondrop... Tiana and Naveen really snuck up there though! 

Moving onto the more direct fic comparison: 

....well this made me realize that I never published my Sanders Sides fics from this blog on AO3, whoops 

Setting that aside, fics with angst and plot tend to do better on AO3, while fluffy stories do better on tumblr: Sugary Sweet doesn’t even hit my top 10 on AO3 and it’s one of the fluffiest fics I’ve ever written, coming in at #5 on the tumblr list 

On the other hand, Only Heaven I’ll Be Sent To is by far one of my best performing fics on AO3, but comes in at number 6 (tied with another fic) on tumblr, probably because it features a lot of action and gore alongside the fluffy agere elements, same for Restrained showing up on the AO3 top but not tumblr’s. 

My Harry Potter fics do way better on tumblr, which is interesting? Maybe Harry Potter fans are still reading their fics on independent forums? Or Harry Potter folks on AO3 don’t cross over much with the agere crowd. (Or maybe they’re just overloaded with /reader fics) I haven’t been actually into the HP community since around 2011 so I’m not sure what’s up there. 

Big shoutout to Class Outing for dominating the top of both lists: BNHA is such a big fandom that it makes sense, and I wrote that fic on @agere-fandom-time, which I think got more interaction than this blog: it seems like people are more comfortable interacting with a group-run blog, rather than an individual writer. Or maybe that’s a natural consequence of more writers putting out more consistent content, letting the blog get bigger. I’m not sure! Either way, even if I’m not into BNHA anymore, I feel like it’s a good piece of my writing, so I’m happy for it to be my top spot.

A series about you and your bitties.

Redoul was your first bitty. He was an unknown kind of Fell bitty that ended up being sold to a bitty fighting ring when he was still young. He was able to escape with the help from his cellmate and his cell’s neighbor, who helped him sneak out and run away.

Redoul, who’s life was saved by you, ended up falling in love with you... and you accepted those feelings and returned them.

...But as the story goes on, you soon find and meet those old friends of his, and they become just as important to you as Redoul is.

Of course, you don’t stop at just your three LV ridden bitties, and take in more as time goes on.

...Although, none of your more recent bitties have quite the same amount of LV as your first three do, and they might just be a little scared of the trio at first, but with time they do get along and eventually do find comfort in one another.
