Mildly inspired by rewatching some narcos episodes. In my ver of modern tdopom, hk version that still includes family rivalry and gang//mob concept, the two were married off for business purposes by their families as soon as they were able to. aemond is very elated that they gave her hand so easily to him and he doesn't have to fight for her but valaena is literally trying to run away from her wifely duties at every chance she gets. He “tolerates” it because he knows they didn’t marry for love and doesn’t want to push her any further than they are now. 

cues internal family drama, he accidentally severely injures or kills one of her bros in a shoot out and she demands for a divorce since there’s no need to keep up the image of unity anyways. signed papers or not, she tries to leave the country and just as she thought she was going to make an escape, he waits for her on the plane he bought out at the last minute and burns the paper in front of her face; telling her that she has no choice but to stay with him since they made their vows. Basically captures her, keeps her away from her family for the remainder of the proxy war as his wife and as his bargaining chip. as the war ends, she comes out of her imprisonment only to find out that 95% of her side is gone, killed off by aemond for trying to help her escape and she’s only left with her younger baby bros. He tells her that she has no choice but to live with him as a wife from now on and before another word could escape him, she decides to meet her own end by her own volition in front of his eyes. Now neither can get a happy ending xxx

Her escape attempt turns into an attempted murder when aemond burns her divorce papers, both of covered in blood and having hate sex, one that Valaena falls asleep after and wakes up imprisoned on his compound as their families go to full war

Her family is decimated because of him

So she’ll decimate him with the only weapon she has to wield now: herself

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"

As a result of me having both time and ideas, I decided it might be fun to play around with the American Gods ‘I WORSHIP’ icons and see if I could recreated the edits my own original inserts and characters. It is worth noting that of all of the listed muses under my pinned post that Song and Swipe are the only two as of now that will receive these fabrications as they are the only two from my list that identify as deities. Following this I do have a few other icons of different characters, but those will be found on my sister blog @kibbakulture as they pertain to the old gods pantheon, not the new one.

One of my favorite trope for Steddie is Steve hunting down Eddie when the kids join Hellfire and giving him a long list of dos and donts.

At first Eddie thinks he’s just being a prick, and worried he’s going to turn the nerds into freaks like him. Especially when he says not to mention drugs in front of Dustin.

But then he starts pulling out lists of monsters that can’t be in campaigns. And like what??? Why can’t he use demagorgons? They were gonna be in the next combat! He’s tempted to ignore the warnings, in fact he’s all set to, but something about Steve’s face when he was laying it all out haunts him. Something so deadly serious about it. So first he decides to test the waters to see if he’s full of shit.

When the session starts, he makes a throwaway comment, “you’re acting like there’s a mindflayer around the corner.”

All the kids freeze but Wheeler especially looks like he’s going to be sick. He even grabs at the bracelet around his wrist. The one he always said his best friend made him before he moved.

Eddie curses himself for even trying to test it out after that, and immediately bullshits the whole session so he can scrap any hint of demogorgans from the campaign.

After that session he drives straight to Harringtons house and demands they go over all the things he can’t include again, in detail, while he takes notes.

He doesn’t know what’s going on with these freshmen, but he knows trauma when he sees it and well he’d gotten attached to the gremlins.

When he leaves that night, he thinks Steve is looking at him with approval. Like he trusts him with their well-being now.

I want to see characters being taken care of in an explicit and worshipful way. Home-cooked meals. Hair brushed and braided by gentle hands. Little gifts just because.

I want to read about characters who are not used to kindness being bombarded by acts of service. This trope works romantically and platonically. Give me found family and acts of service - all the ways a character is wrapped up in wordless, explicit care after years of cruelty and having no idea how to handle. I need it.
