Anime overall can be pretty weird...I’m gonna say Peach Girl because the sheer soap opera-ness of it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before (and I loved it lol). Devilman Crybaby is weird af in general too. So is Revolutionary Girl Utena.

If the dub is good, I’ll watch it. If a show’s really new or doesn’t have a decent dub, I’ll do it subbed. Like. Yuri on Ice and Haikyuu have to be watched in sub, but if I’m watching Bleach or something it has to be the English for me

Golzine from Banana Fish is terrible. Enel from One Piece is one of the most annoying villains ever. Zenitsu from Demon Slayer is obnoxious

20. Recommend an anime movie?

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas and Ride Your Wave are two good ones to get you in touch with your emotions. I also love Doukyuusei for a more relaxed, romantic story

Hi 💛 I hope I'm not the upteenth miraculer to ask these, but I haven't found answers on your blog yet 🙏

I'm searching for a somewhat definite episode order of season 2, and I thought the production number was equivalent to the actual place of an episode in a season but I'm also finding "chronological orders" which aren't in the same order as the production codes and I'm so confused ... Can you help me with this ? Also, where can a girl find these production codes at the root ?

And finally it's not related, but where do you find informations on TFOU's airing schedule more than one week in advance ? I've searched the Web but I can't even find out which Miraculous episode they're airing next before they post a trailer ;;;

Ahhhh the season 2 chronological order… something I’ve been procrastinating on forever!

I’d say for now, just go by the production order, which you can find here. What I really wanna do is rewatch the season and see what should be changed so everything makes sense chronologically, but that’ll take me a while 😅. As for where to find production codes, normally the ml wiki and regular wiki have production codes listed next to the episode names, so there ya go!

As for your question on TFOU, it takes some digging, trust me! A lot of the times, there’s more ✨important✨ people that are able to email TFOU for confirmation on airing and stuff, and I usually find out about those instances via ml news blogs/websites. I highly suggest following @mlnewsworld on Twitter and insta for news, as well as checking out https://miraculousladybugnews.com :D. Also suggested you follow ambassadors and other people working on the show on these sites, such as @ladyofacat, @miraculousmexico, @EzraWeisz, @winny_irl, ect.

Sorry if that wasn’t much help, but hope you’re a little less confused at least haha! I really need to find the time to rewatch all the episodes and make a chronological order, I know ;_).

i think it's going to be pretty similar to @dukeofonions' but let's see if i find something new to contribute haha. i see you didn't include that one about Patton in the Big Game or whatever, so i'm not including it either xd. also i think i'm going to count Accepting Anxiety as one episode only.

edit: i finished and now i dare you to drink a shot of water every time i say the word spanish or a version of the word comfort and become very well hydrated.

#16 I'm in a Disney Show

(i agree with dukeofonions here) i always forget this episode exists. it was ok in terms of being happy for real life Thomas but as a Sanders Sides episode it didn't do anything. the sides were just giving their opinions but it wasn't very funny or interesting. also i'm bitter because it made me look up the episode he was in and i didn't like it at all. i don't know if i'm too old for those Disney shows now but Thomas was literally the only good part of it, everything else was really dull and boring imo. a waste of time.

however, Logan supporting clickbait is one of the funniest things ever, and i'll never forget it.

#15 Becoming A Cartoon

i didn't hate this episode but it was just .. meh.. you know? several factors contribute to this. one, i couldn't feel much nostalgia for Butch Hartman's shows because i watched them in Spanish, and everything feels really weird when they speak English, i don't like how my old cartoons sound in English. two, it was disappointing to me because we were all desperately waiting for Plot™ and instead they give us this short episode about nothing (oh how the tables have turned now it's the other way around haha). and three, i didn't like the style of the animation :/ their faces and expressions freaked me out, Roman's douchey face still haunts me.

#14 Way Too Adult

here i'm biased because i don't like Patton much, and i didn't back when i watched the series the first time either, so this video was a little disappointingwithout the rest. also it wasn't relatable to me because i am still too young and dependent on my parents haha. but Patton is funny and it's funny to laugh at Thomas' struggling.

#13 The Dark Side of Disney

i've never been a fan of Disney movies. i actually never watched Mulan or the Lion King or Aladdin as a kid, so meh. i liked the ending, though, it was cool to see Virgil have fun and be right for once. it does make me a bit uncomfortable because the way Thomas tries too hard with Virgil's mouth movements and his low voice reminds me of a guy that had made me v uncomfortable not long before watching that video. so an icky feel overall.

#12 A New Year of Lying to Myself

this video was actually kind of fogettable to me. i had a hard time connecting the voices in the song to the characters and idk. i don't love it nor hate it, just .. neutral.

#11 My True Identity

pretty much the same opinion as dukeofonions, again. it's a good introduction and it's good that it was the beginning of it all but on its own it's not very special. i think it's awesome on Thomas to have come up with such a clever idea, like choosing the dad, the teacher and the prince and putting them together and match them with thoughts?? that fit so perfectly?? it really is just very impressive when you think about it, that it was just a random idea he had for a short 5 minute video.

#10 Taking on Anxiety

i liked this video a lot because when i watched it i had recently been a lot on tumblr, and found out through relatable posts that i had anxiety. so watching this video was really fun and it made me happy to feel so seen, specially the intro when Thomas just talks about what it's like to have Anxiety and Virgil is so smug about it.

okay now that those are out of the way things are going to get hard... all the following i love with all my heart so i'm going to rank them based on the smallest things.

#9 Growing Up

once more, Patton isn't my favorite. so that's why i'm putting this here, plus the echo at the end askjhsahg, but i love love this video. i remember we were waiting and oh so ready for the angst of nobody taking Patton seriously. and we received!! i love that though Roman and Logan are antagonists here, they're both so happy about Thomas wanting to have a healthy life. and i just adore the way Logan admits his mistake at the end and asks Patton directly. my heart... also aw.. the nostalgia. i remember none of us knew how to spell Patton's name and were writing it in very funny ways until Thomas and Joan told us lol.

#8 The Mind vs The Heart

when i watched this video the first times i didn't like it much, because i only had eyes for Virgil, but later i came back to it and loved it. so taking that into account i'm putting it here. logicality was the first ship i ever shipped in the show because i saw a gifset on tumblr of Patton screaming "what do you know about love?!" and Logan "apparently more than YOU" and the caption said "MARRIED", and i thought hey yeah... anyway. i love them. they're both my dads since that day.

this video is so so so relatable and i love it. Logan and Patton are so much fun arguing and i love how they compromise at the end and work together. im reconsidering.. i might move it higher? no, fine i'll leave it here.

#7 Making Some Changes

this video was absolutely hilarious. i personally couldn't see it as the Sides still once they were acted by Thomas' friends, i enjoyed it more as that bunch being silly and trying to be the sides but failing in so many ways, while sometimes nailing stuff suddenly. i really don't take this one too seriously as an episode. except Joan!Logan and Valerie!Logan, my beloved... i love how Joan acted as Logan and their voice and that they kept their ace ring on.. there's a reason i had them as my icon for so long. and Valerie looks a bit (a lot) like me with the glasses and dressed in dark colors, plus she spoke Spanish and there's .. no words to describe the joy i felt when seeing/hearing that. wait i'm getting emotional...

#6 My Personality Q&A

when i watched this Virgil was my favorite side and i didn't care much about the rest lol. when i heard his answers i related to him SO much it was scary, and also his voice is so soft and it was all very comforting. it was also when i first starting looking at Logan with more attention, because when he brought up Big Hero 6 and Fall Out Boy and said he didn't sing and would recite it like a poem? it only took a couple seconds but my brain said "me" and never went back.

now this video is a little underwhelming to watch for me, most of the appeal for me was in finding out the answers, and also watching it when we didn't know a lot about the sides. now we know more and want to know more so it's not as fun to me as it was first.

i wish so bad they'd do another one, although i know it would be more difficult with a much bigger audience, i think they can manage and i just need it. the chaos.. the energy.. they all being so savage with each other, learning little random facts about them you didn't expect.. i need it.

#5 Alone on Valentines Day

i love Valerie, and the idea of this video was perfect and so perfectly excecuted. every side just giving their crazy opinions on how to woo a random stranger, i laughed SO much. first with Logan speaking simlish out of nowhere? at that point i didn't know practically anything about the sims except that it was some video game and the whiplash of Logan going AYO and the rest killed me. then when Roman whipped out that dialogue in Spanish??? my life was completed. i've never felt more happy than i did in that moment gosh. just the hilarity of Roman's drama, the shock of them speaking Spanish suddenly like that, the absolute JOY of seeing a creator i like speak (may i say) perfect Spanish, the other characters' faces after that.. never been happier.

also the conclusion was so cute. Virgil solving the whole problem without wanting to. i loved it.

#4 Am I Original

i think this video speaks for itself. it was fun to watch them all do the ideas Roman had, plus Logan and Virgil nodding at each other, (i love them so much), plus the angst at the end of Roman's perfectionism, plus Roman's just perfect name. this video has it all.

i think Thomas posted it kind of late at night and i watched it at 7am in the classroom as i waited for my classmates to arrive and the class to start. (i usually was like 40 minutes early to school due to mom’s work). i had to contain my laughter and it wasn’t easy.

#3 Losing My Motivation

i started loving this video after a while, when Logan passed Virgil in the position for my favorite side. but once he did this episode was beautiful. it's so funny and i love Logan and Patton's dynamic so much. and the video also so damn relatable in general. i felt so seen with it because they named all the problems i have when procrastinating, down to Patton's vague explanation of his feelings, it's exactly how i feel every time i want to do stuff. and the plot twist! i can hear the dramatic sound effect and see how they all turn to Logan clearly in my head, and it always makes me smile. plus there's so much Logan angst that can be dug up and overanalized. i love to watch it over and over.

#2 Accepting Anxiety

this video was perfect. everything we wanted. we knew it was coming and it delivered perfectly, better than any fanfic done in the waiting time. the week between the parts was agonizing but in a fun way somehow. i remember precisely when i was watching part 2 in my living room. i screamed. and i cried, a lot. i was feeling terrible at that time in my life and Thomas was such a comforting presence and i can't begin to describe how this episode made me feel.

and later it is always fun to rewatch with all their different reactions to being in Virgil's room, the energy of that was on point. Thomas is such a great actor and the characters where just amazingly performed. plus it gave so much to talk adn think about, the idea of the rooms, lots lots of insight into the characters, foreshadowing, so much. it's just perfect i have nothing else to say.

#1 (for purely emotional reasons, ironically) My Negative Thinking

i think Accepting Anxiety is the best episode of the season objectively but my favorite is My Negative Thinking. because i love Virgil and Logan so much and seeing them argue together was and is great. the comfort.. i can't repeat that word enough throughout this post. it's such a soft video while not being overwhelming with Patton and Roman's outbursts. just quiet (mostly) and clear and with perfectly timed humour.

Logan my beloved.. learning spanish... helping me with my own anxiety.. and their debate was so good. and the fact that they were friends i- i can't. Virgil didn't think Logan liked him and Logan told him explicitly that he did and the casual softness of it i cant even. Logan is happy that he tried.. it's just marvelous. Virgil and Logan as best friends will always be my favorite pair, and their dynamic will always be what i strive for in any relationship i might form, with both sides silently comforting each other within their own limits and realistic perspectives. so nice.

Beyond the Mat, sort of meta?

Ok so for some personal context, I’ve been rewatching all of Supernatural and i have the firm intention to keep the show on repeat on my computer/tv until i’ve fully binged it 15 times (never fear, I am already perfectly aware of how bad a decision this is). I wrote this post with a frantic need to get all the thoughts out, but it happened to be 3am at the time, and I realized I had to make gifs and upload them which was obviously too much work for a sleep deprived brain. I put it off until the next day, but ended up procrastinating and now it's been sitting in my drafts for 3 months and I thought hey this is a good time to finish it up (it could be argued that i'm polishing up this thing at 5am and this doesn't seem to be an issue for my will to get this done this time around, although I am heavily caffeinated so maybe that has something to do with it, go figure).

Anyways that’s besides the point. At the time I had just gotten to 11x15, Beyond the Mat. I’ve seen people write a lot about how parallels between Sam and Dean’s love lives/interests are part of the subtext about Dean’s bisexuality. I’ve also read people's works about how Gunner is pretty obviously one of Dean’s youth celebrity crushes. But (and I might just be a bit blind or haven’t looked hard enough) I haven’t seen a lot about the parallel between Sam/Rio and Dean/Gunner.

So let's get down to business, shall we?

The scene I will be focusing on starts out with Dean utterly star struck, sort of mumbling awkwardly his reasoning for coming up to Gunner (x) (x). Interestingly enough, Sam does the exact same thing with Rio (x) (x), while Dean is in the other corner clasping Gunner's hand for way too long and way too tight, and giving him the “i’ve loved you ever since i met you” look (x) (x).

Now since Sam’s crush is strictly heterosexual and we all know Sam’s interest in women, he outright says it to Rio (this is, after all, the CW) (x) (x). Dean on the other hand doesn’t verbalize it in so many words (the CW), but cmon... That fluster when Gunner winks at him later on?? (x) (let's not forget the little leg pat (x) that is probably still etched in Dean's memory amongst the 20 best things that ever happened to him, behind the previously-mentioned-wink and the Cartwright Twins) Or his reaction to Gunner patting his arm, "ok ok don't panic, it's not like your childhood crush just touched you oh wait". And Literally His Unwavering Smile The Whole Way Through. Jacting choices, people, Jacting choices (x).

Sam saves himself by steering the conversation towards a type of "where are they now?" interview, and Rio follows his not-so-subtle attempt, with a heavily implied tint of nostalgia for the good old days (x). Dean pulls a very similar stunt, mentioning something about his and Gunner's past (x) (x). Rio and Gunner's faces in those clips resemble each other quite a great deal: the emotion is the same, regret.

I really love that parallel because it’s really just “in your face”. You see Dean getting all flustered, at that point you could still say “hey i love [insert celebrity] and i don’t have a crush on them, but i’d probably still react that way around them”. (First of all, if I were you, I'd go on a journey of soul searching because hello, it’s ok to have crushes on celebrities you wish you didn’t, we’ve all been 12 and we’ve all seen Twilight and we’re all ashamed, and second of all, would you really and I mean really react that same way?) But then, enters Sam and his old crush, from the same field, basically the same time period, the same place and roughly the same "community". And it’s an unapologetic crush, not just a “hhhahaha i loved your uh.... your work.... as a uh kid haha.....”. Nonono. He says it, he tells her that he “used” (i’m not sure it’s completely gone, just like Dean) to have a crush on her. And then boom, parallel.

The way the two interact with both “celebrities” isn’t that different, if anything, Sam is less awkward around Rio than Dean is with Gunner. I’m betting the reason why is that since Sam’s crush is a woman, he has 1: talked about it openly before with his family (a poster of your crush on your wall is a good way to do that) and 2: talked to other crushes like her before. Dean, for obvious reasons, has not. Not a man, maybe some girlfriends, but he was never open (specifically not to John) about a potential crush he had on the big wrestler man in the ring, because he’s supposed to be this manly manly ladies man. He’s much more awkward because he hasn’t had much of an opportunity to talk to his crushes that might have been men, so the entire ordeal is wayyy more foreign to him. And he was also just a fan, so the whole “oh my god oh my god” of the crush is added to the already existing “oh my god oh my god” of his inner (and outer let's not kid ourselves) fanboy self.

Dean’s reaction is incidentally very similar to the one he has in the Fat Spa in 9x13, The Purge, with the character called Larry, Maritza’s husband. Dean’s awkward, goes too far, slightly flustered, and he’s pretty clearly not thrown off because of Maritza in that interview room, his gaze is mostly going from Sam to Larry then back to Sam. He lightly brushes over Maritza but barely looks at her (x) (x).

I’d also like to point out that when Gunner enters the stage, there’s a hint at a bi flag created by the light show, blink and you'll miss it (x). But then again that could just be the fact that those lights look pretty together and I'm completely insane. I’m not going to push that one too far, but since Gunner winks at Dean after that, which as I said before, makes Dean look adorably happy and flustered..... Take that as you will.

There's a thousand other scenes relevant to Dean being very blatantly bi-coded in Beyond the Mat (seriously, it's almost as obvious as the siren episode) but I really just wanted to focus on the parallel this time. I might go even more in depth on that episode (or do it bit by bit) if I ever find the will to make more gifs and string intelligible words together to create coherent sentences, and give off the impression of a sane mind. Might even throw in some The Purge meta for fun. Yes my definition of fun is quite warped.

1. How many WIPS do you currently have (be honest):

I am usually a monogamous WIPer. One at a time.  However, I have many docs with random ideas and nonsense at all times. Right now I have one big longfic WIP that I have been working on since the dawn of time and (after counting) five idea/early draft docs. 

2. What’s next on your to-read list (fanfic or otherwise):

I just got Lindy West’s Shit Actually (otherwise-wise) and I am not sure of my next fic. Because I’ve been writing, I am behind on reading, but I have With a Twist (I am not just saying this because you asked lol), MoreHuman’s Fifteen Minutes, and the new grapehyasynth on my list. I am also lucky enough to beta for some super talented people so I have those on my to-read list too. (I just realized this is why I am so behind on fan fic. That and my reading system is both very organized and highly random.)

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?

Oh boy. Probably my DMs from @vivianblakesunrisebay but in fic, @justwaiting23’s Are They...You Know gave me some giggles.

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

I shall preface this with the fact that only writing and the state of the world make me really cry and it isn’t something I generally do. The last fic I got emotional during was @middyblue‘s Immortals fic but I reread Blackbird Fly by Distractivate recently and straight up sobbed. I did the first time and I have every time since.

17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage

Sadly I feel like my longfic of 31k words is still in the ideas stage. BUT. I am thinking of doing another sickfic because I really enjoy reading them and write the fic you want to see in the world, right? I was thinking David would have a chronic illness, maybe chronic pain, that is mostly manageable until it isn’t, and what that is like for Patrick, whose default is to want to control things, and what that is like for the very independent David. Plus there is a lot of opportunity for tender care and everything that makes David and Patrick strong.

18. Do you have a fic reading/writing routine?

Clearly my reading routine is effed. But I just scroll back in the tag to where I left off (sometimes months back) and binge when I can, especially when I am on writing breaks. I try to wait until WIPs are finished to read too. Writing-wise, haha, what is a routine. I do like to write in the morning and I can’t have music or distractions. I like to write on the front porch with my feet up and a Coke Zero handy. I also try to make deadlines for myself so I won’t procrastinate but truly, if I don’t feel like writing I don’t. Hence the six month lulls in posting. I do better when I have a clear picture in my head of what needs to be happening rather than staring at a blank page. Oh! I always always watch a movie with a similar trope before I start a fic plus gather poetry and songs that match the theme. And I can’t write without a theme. And then I rewatch episodes so that I can make sure that I can hear my themes in their voices. Plus see if there is canon I can pilfer. Wow. I have a routine, who knew. (Narrator: the writer did not know.)

About Love, Simon: Everyone deserves a great love story, but for 17-year-old Simon Spier, it's a little more complicated. He hasn't told his family or friends that he's gay, and he doesn't know the identity of the anonymous classmate that he's fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing.

goromcom: Starting off with a little about you, the tags Tumblr associates with you are #miraculous and #lol. Those are very lighthearted tags! Are you an optimistic person in general?

wantedfangirl: Haha, that’s very funny! In real life I am actually quite a cynic, but Tumblr and general online culture can get very depressing if you let it get to you, so I try to maintain a more positive online presence.

goromcom: Yeah, I like that. Concentrating on things that can be a little more uplifting can sometimes help offset the more troubling things in the news and online. 

But now, let’s talk about your project! You chose to adapt Love, Simon as your rom com. Has this movie been a favorite of yours, or is there some other reason you chose it?

wantedfangirl: Oh, this movie is definitely a favourite of mine. As someone who was a closeted teen when it came out, this movie was painfully and reassuringly relatable, and seeing this movie in cinemas with friends and how popular it subsequently became was very encouraging. It’s also interesting rewatching it now, despite it only having been a couple of years, and seeing how different it is to watch when I’m at a very different place with my life and my sexuality. However, the main reason I chose it is that I finally read the book the movie is based on, and it really inspired me to rewrite this romcom with our favourite angel and demon.

goromcom: What's your favorite moment of the movie, and are you looking forward to presenting it in your adaptation? Any loose plans for that scene that you can share?

wantedfangirl: SPOILER WARNING FOR LOVE, SIMON--There are several comedic moments in the film that I love, like the skit about straight people ‘coming out’ and every scene with relatable Queer Panic, but at heart I am a sap, and so my favourite scene has got to be when they finally meet on the Ferris Wheel and share that stunning kiss.--END SPOILERS 

I am very much looking forward to that scene, because I feel like I’ve blended all my favourite elements of the book, movie, and Good Omens to keep the essence of the original scene but make it more distinct to Ineffable Husbands.

goromcom: Do you plan to stick very closely to the beats of the original story, or make bigger changes?

wantedfangirl: I feel I have gone for something between the two. I’ve kept the main plotline and relationship the same, and all the essential ideas surrounding sexuality and homophobia that were very integral to the movie. However, the movie also includes a lot of High School Drama that I really didn’t want to write, and writing Aziraphale and Crowley as teenagers just felt too weird, so I changed the setting to an office, to try and keep it in an enclosed environment while ever so slightly heightening the maturity level of the characters. Curtaincall’s wonderful Office AU also got me binge-watching the show, so that probably also has been inspiring me.

goromcom: What's an interesting decision you've made in your planning so far--a notable casting decision, a changing of venue, or some other plan you have to paint Good Omens all over your rom com?

wantedfangirl: As I mentioned above, I changed the setting because Crowley and Aziraphale were literally born middle-aged, and writing them differently really didn’t feel right. I’ve also replaced a lot of the subplots that originally involved High School Drama to more Good Omens inspired ideas, as the office-like structure of Heaven and Hell in the show really transferred beautifully to this fic. I’ve also been keeping those details we all know and love (*cough* “I gave it away”), that are so much fun to include in every Good Omens fic. I also found that some scenes in my romcom work brilliantly with the ‘break up’ scenes in the show, and I cannot wait to write those.

goromcom: I am blatantly stealing this last question from The Good Place: The Podcast, but here goes: Tell me something "good". It can be something big or small. It can be a charity you think is doing good work, or you can talk about how great your pet is.

wantedfangirl: Ah, I love that podcast and that show, definitely recommend them both! I don’t want to sound preachy, but I would say something I’ve found ‘good’ recently is taking a break from social media. I’ve found that consciously stepping away has been surprisingly helpful, both because I have a strong tendency to procrastinate on it, and it can get very negative, which really isn't great when you're prone to a variety of mental issues.

Are you staying home from work/school? Yup! My last final is tomorrow (I’m procrastinating rn rip). Luckily, I am able to do my summer research job remotely, so in just over a week I’ll start that

If you’re staying home, who’s there with you? My parents rn and my little brother will be coming home from college soon

Do you have pets to keep you company? My cat! She either completely ignores me or tries to walk all over my papers while I’m studying

Who do you miss the most? My friends!! Everyone had a really busy semester so we had all these fun events planned for right around when quarantine happened. I’m also sad b/c at lot of my friends are graduating this year and I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to them

When was the last time you left your home? I try to go for a walk everyday to see the baby cows up the road from my house! They are so cute and they run around and play with each other like dogs, I love them

What was the last thing you bought? Starbucks coffees for my mom and I (I was already out to pick up groceries)

Is quarantine driving you insane or are you finally relaxed? INSANE. I kind of relaxed for a bit, but because I was still in classes it was more of “oh sweet I can sleep and procrastinate all my work”, so I was stressed out but ignoring it

Are you a homebody? Normally yes, but somehow being a homebody is more satisfying when I’m out being busy and can look forward to going home, rather than being stuck here now

What movies have you watched recently? I rewatched The Hunger Games with my friends recently, so we’re going to finish watching the rest of the series together. I’ve also watched a lot of Pixar movies on Disney Plus recently

An event that you were looking forward to that got cancelled? This summer I was supposed to go present at two conferences but both are cancelled or online now

What’s the worst thing that you’ve had to cancel? One of the conferences I mentioned was in Austria and it was going to be sooo exciting :( I was going to spend a week or two in Europe after, my family never went on trips when I was a kid so I was really looking forward to travelling

What’s the best thing you’ve had to cancel? The first week that classes went online I had two group presentations - they were a different kind of stressful but still better than presenting in person in front of the whole class

Do you have any new hobbies? No I’ve been too busy with school (and sleeping)

What are you out of? Hand sanitizer I guess? There’s none at the stores rn, but I don’t really need it anyways b/c I’m staying at home

What music are you listening to? Well the Mamma Mia soundtracks are my comfort music always and the Harry Potter soundtracks for studying. But lately I’ve been listening to Maggie Rogers, Vance Joy, Bleachers, Taylor Swift, Cold War Kids, and Hozier

What shows are you watching? Brooklyn 99 and Schitt’s Creek!

What are you reading? I’ll be putting together my summer reading list once exams are done but here’s a few books I’ll probably read in the next month or so: The Huntress by Kate Quinn, Phantoms in the Brain by VS Ramachandran, Us Against You by Fredrik Backman, and We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

What are you doing for self-care? I’m trying to stay connected to my friends, get my sleep schedule back on track, and deliberately do one nice thing everyday (whether that’s getting a coffee for my mom or sending a thank you email to a prof)

Are you exercising? I go for a walk each day to get out my house and relax. I live in a rural area so there’s lots of nice places to walk (except I live in Canada and have to say hi to every person I walk past)

How’s your toilet paper supply? It’s fine, no one in my family panicked and we’ve just been buying it as we need it

Have you made any changes to your hair during quarantine? No and I’m not planning to haha

How is everyone holding up?  

I say fine a lot. I’m fine. It’s fine. It could be worse. In the scheme of things I am doing okay, and I have the support of my friends and family when i’m not doing so great. But I’m a real proponent of bottle everything up until it goes away so that’s why. I’m fine.

Mostly, i’m avoiding thinking of the future. I finish uni in less than a month, and im going to need a job if i want to stay out of my parents house. Of course, its a great time to be job hunting!!! /not. But I have a bit of time, and savings, so wish me luck. I’ll figure it out. 

What are you doing to keep healthy?

Lots of walking and outdoor time. I’m finding my mood is highly reliant on how much sun i get, which I’ve never noticed before. But I have some lovely bushland about 10 minute walk away, so i’ve been doing loops around that. It’s amazing how soothing i find trees and dirt. 

Also there’s lizards and birds which is Awesome.

I’m not much of an exercise person otherwise, but i get... apathetic if i spend too long inside.

Are you working, not working, working from home?

I’m studying! My masters currently, which was supposed to involve lots of travel... so. It hasn’t been what I might have wished but on the other hand. It provides a certain measure of security and i get to meet new people through uni. I can safely say though that zoom intensive courses are the Worst and I am never ever doing an online course again if i can avoid it.

Anyone caring for kids or elders?

Nope! In fact, I just moved out of my parents place at the start of the year. I’m happy for the independence but im also very happy travel restrictions have loosened and I can see them more often. I’m not lonely, but i miss having pets around.

What was you best/worst day?

Best day - probably the last week, as we’re finally getting to do the thing that this uni course promised us: go out to schools and perform science shows. Obviously we can’t travel far afield, but since my state has had pretty much 0 cases in yonks, we’re allowed to travel to local schools. Kids are just so delightful and unpredictable and they say the funniest shit, but most it’s just. really good to have a purpose again. Something to do. It’s also really really good to see people in person, and I truly feel for everyone who isn’t able to. 

Worst day - about a month ago, when I got pulled from my shows because my teammate got (non-covid) sick. I was tired, frustrated, and just so over this year pulling the plug out from under me. We’ve - unsurprisingly - had a year of cancelled plans and ruined expectations, but I had held it together until then. I really hate ‘what-ifs’ so mostly i just. roll with it. But even I have my limit.

What inspires you?

Can i say the sun again. It sounds trite, but just. This year has been a year of social upheaval. I’ve been physically isolated from my friends, my family, we can’t plan any events, everything we have planned has fallen through etc etc. 

But at the end of the day, we made it to spring. The sun is shining, the bees are buzzing, and there are SO MANY DANG FLOWERS (i feel for people with hayfever, i really do). And if i get outside each day, i remember that this day happened, and things are still green and growing. And this is about the only thing that brings me peace.

Are you taking up hobbies?

Hah i always get especially productive when im procrastinating. I got quite a bit of art done for me - mostly for an arpg called Those Who Went Missing on deviantart.

I also have read a ton of untamed and svsss fanfiction, plus some fantasy novels for a book club i have with friends (on zoom ;n;). These count as hobbies, yes?

And I’m watching stuff, on and off: svsss but only weekly, binge-watching kings avatar, rewatching fmab and cql, and contemplating a third watch through of nirvana in fire when im done.

What kind of content helps keep the joy on your dash?

Gosh i reblog most of it haha - the untamed gifs, pretty pictures, BIRDS, plus other interests when they pop up. I like pretty things :3c

Has life gone back to “normal” where you are?

Yes, in a local sense. Australia isn’t doing as well as NZ, but like I said before, my state has had zero cases for a long time, so day-to-day things have opened up. All big gatherings are a no though, and graduation has been cancelled so.

But at least I should be able to get back to spend new years with my family.

What are you doing for fun?

I have been playing a lot of Sky: Children of Light on my phone. Its pretty and escapist and what more could I want. When im not doing that im reading. Sometimes i remember i actually like doing art, and I spend an entire morning drawing arpg stuff before being like. I need to go outside.

Rinse and repeat and my assignments just. never get done.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What movies have you watched recently? hmm.. i think the only ones are the CQL movies, notably Fatal Journey. ive tried to watch some other movies but my attention span isn’t really holding up right now haha

What shows are you watching? i’m thinking of rewatching the untamed again, especially now that i’m teaching myself how to make gifs :) but other than that, i’m not currently watching anything (due to aforementioned attention reasons). but!! i recently watched the kdrama Hotel del Luna. the visuals are stunning and iu was phenomenal but, uh. damn that writing sucked... which was disappointing cause the concept was suuper interesting

Dean.

3. Who is your least favorite in TFW?

Cas. He’s great! I was genuinely glad when MOC Dean didn’t kill him, but the show is about the brothers.

Bobby! Andy was pretty great too, haha.

Sam: Large, gangly, smart.

5. I also loved 8, but 5 brought all those early seasons to such a painful, poignant ending.

If I had to choose, 1-7. But I’m glad the show has continued and hope it continues to continue.

Crowley is fascinating. Loved OG Lucifer. I’m really enjoying Michael!Dean so far.

15. Do you think they should end the Lucifer plot line?

He has been around a long time... It might be time, but I’m also really intrigued by his story this season, so... why not let it play out? As long as they have a story to tell with him, keep him around.

16. Who do you think has gone through more trauma (Sam, Dean, or Cas)?

Definitely not Cas. Sam and Dean are probably pretty close. Technically, Sam spent more time in hell (120 years/40 years). 

17. What’s your favorite Supernatural episode?

So many! I love Swan Song. Changing Channels. Mystery Spot. Folsom Prison Blues. That episode where they go to a mental hospital. The bank robbery shape shifter one...

Dean.

Came for the brothers. Stayed for the brothers. Mixed into that, the message of hope and striving for what’s right against all odds makes the show powerful.

282.514?! That’s... a lot? haha. I’m gonna substract 75k tho, that’s the spanish version of one of my fics, doesn’t count. Still surprised lol.

How often do you write?

I try to write everyday, but I fail miserably. I wish it was because I’m tired, but instead I’m just procrastinating and utterly uninspired, currently coming out of a heavy slump. In my good times though, I used to write sacredly on weekends.

Do you have a routine for writing?

Sit, open doc, stare at it, then minimize it to NOT look at it, go on tumblr, go on twitter, open doc, stare at it, WRITE ONE WORD, then minimize it... repeat ad infinitum. 

(That’s why my word count surprises me. Guess it’s all thanks to those times I pick my laptop and go outside to write. Also since I have twitter I’ve been getting better at the procrastination game lmao).

What’s your favorite kinks/tropes/pairing?

Pairings, I think klance is a rarepair and deserves more recognition... LMAOOO. Nah, no matter how overcrowded it is, they are my favs, followed closely by shatt. The only reason I write less shatt it’s because it’s harder for me to grasp their personalities, I swear.

I’m actually quite new (considering my age) to the fanfiction community, even as a reader. I used to read only canon-verse things until not so long ago, and therefore I tend to write only canon-verse things too (I started writing for Voltron because the canon is so open! Yey for space!). But since that’s getting boring, I started looking into AUs and even though I’m TERRIBLE at them, as a reader I enjoy the dark AUs? Crime, war, jail, spies... that kind of thing.

As a writer I started integrating some wacky tropes too! Into canonverse tho, gosh I’m obstinate lol, but I’m trying to play more with those, I really liked soulmates, also I’m liking body swap, I wanna try more (send me prompts any time and help a sister with that, wink wink). Still, you can’t catch me writing a coffee shop AU in this life, probably, but uh never say never as that canadian sage once said.

Oh, the kinks... as a writer I guess it’s zero, since I don’t write smut (T_T). 

Do you have a favorite fic of yours?

Wow you mean the one I cringe less while re-reading? Lol you know what, when they say your favs never get popular it’s true! Tbh I like a lot my oldie shatt fic One kiss for each piece but I think the poorly written smut (first and last try at that ugh) drove people away and I cringe a bit at it, but it has a place in my heart because it’s my first shatt one and Matt is very supportive there and I love him lol. Second, I’ve only written ONE lotura called Oh! Darling and it’s the sweetest thing that my brain has come up with, and I truly dig it too? Cheesy af but still!

I’m also really liking my current klance work, that’s you in the mirror, but I still don’t know if I’ll be able to make it land where I want to, it’s my therapy fic for the slump and it’s... in the works. It could become my fav tho.

Your fic with the most kudos?

fake, not fate -- I remember being so inspired and fired up for this one, I guess it shows.

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

For starters I never know if my writing is compatible with the English prose, I never studied anything regarding literature (not even in my native language), so I can’t really compare Eng and Spanish proses and I’m just... playing by ear? Hoping for the best? I always fear someone will comment “you fucking illiterate learn to structure a phrase” and I’ll have to yeet myself into oblivion. Also I have heavy problems to cut and edit myself. I write long-ass paragraphs that I know ARE WRONG but still find myself unable to reword/edit/cut it and it’s infuriating lol. Geez, I guess there’s something I have to like given that word count lolol... I think I have good ideas, sadly the best ones are currently unfinished. Uhm, guess I have a good grasp of the plot bunnies, I try to make the reader feel in a full circle after they finish, and I’ve been told that I can truly write IC which is the highest compliment to me, because I have to rewatch VLD in english to remember how they speak lol. I hope I can do the same when I write for another fandom.

I’ve been doing good so far :) I haven’t done a lot of writing to be honest haha I think it’s because I started a new Sally fic I kinda abandoned the Cordelia one opsss and it’s not going to have a happy ending so I’m procrastinating 😌

Also I read your new fic and I absolutely loved it! I’m not really a fan of Lana but you may have changed my mind haha

Ooh an unhappy ending… I haven’t explicitly attempted that yet (my first Lana fic was more poetic so I don’t count it as a direct unhappy ending) so that must be interesting to write about!!

I have such an unhealthy attachment to Lana that I feel personally offended when people don’t like her haha (ofc everyone is entitled to their own opinions) I just see so much of myself in her & I want to be like her when I’m an adult (minus the whole asylum thing) so I’m very attached & I can’t rewatch asylum bc it kinda traumatised me the first time 😂

I’m alright, but I’m under a lot of pressure this week bc of various college deadlines, & I don’t cope well with that tbh. I lack energy atm which is why I’m behind where I should be & am not ready to hand in the coursework yet, but I’m gonna try anyways!!

I haven’t been able to write much recently except for that Lana fic, (which felt absolutely euphoric to post tbh ☺️) & I was hoping to write a lot more in the summer, but it turns out I have to do all my English coursework over the holidays bc it’s due as soon as I get back in September. That’s writing fiction works, so I’ll probs be focused on those :/

I’m still not a good gainer

Since I talked about my job search in my last blog post, but then disappeared for a few months, I actually get more questions about my job than I do about gaining. haha

I’ve been gainfully employed at a start-up for about three months, and I accidentally let it take over my life. I’m one of those people who struggles to find moderation... I have a tendency to either be a procrastinator or a workaholic, and it’s certainly much better to be the latter when starting a new job.

I’m not really gaining at the moment. I still have a few little health concerns (acid reflux that comes and goes, swelling in my ankles) that are uncomfortable enough to make me anxious about gaining any more at this point. I’m going to hold steady at 220ish, while turning a bit of the chub into muscle, and then I will decide where to go from there.

I’ve seen a bunch of gay movies and read a bunch of gay books in the past few weeks that have made me admit to myself, that regardless of how jaded I am, and how tricky it is to find someone whom you are actually compatible with within the gaining/encouraging world, I want to put my best foot forward towards falling in love. 

The movies were: Ladybird (even though it’s not that gay), Call Me By Your Name, The Way He Looks (this was a re-watch), Handsome Devil, Esteros, and Being 17

I would highly recommend Call Me By Your Name and The Way He Looks (this one is on Netflix) and generally recommend the others.

The books were:

* Call Me By Your Name (the book that the movie was based on, I think that this is a rare case where the movie is better than the book, but it’s worth checking out anyway)

* Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (YA)

* History Is All You Left Me (YA and over-dramatic and I loved every minute of it)

* They Both Die At The End

* The Body Keeps The Score (this is a book about trauma and PTSD, that I read before the rest of these books, and that strangely informed how I understood the characters and myself)

The quality and diversity of LGBT books has drastically increased since when I was a teen. I’m very glad that these books came into my life this year, but I also wish I had had them when I was 12-17.

I feel far more alive than I did before this (mostly) gay book / movie binge. I’m going to try to push myself towards more meaningful entertainment, rather than just rewatching Parks and Rec on Netflix (as fun as that is), so if you have any recommendations, just let me know!

My goal for 2018 is to write a book that I’ve been outlining in my head for a few weeks. I might keep you guys updated with word counts, if you are interested in that.
