Zhongli, he wasn't exactly the wealthiest or well known man, but you loved him all the same. Especially the little gifts he gives you from time to time with the money he does have.

He likes to give you things he buys he thinks you'll like, but Zhongli likes to give you food above all. He likes to cook, so why not give you some?

You come home to a warm plate of food on the counter — your favorite, nonetheless — and see Zhongli cleaning up some stuff.

“Zhongli? You made food for me again??” you inquire, slipping off your shoes. The former Archon looks up to you and smiles, a gentle look in his gold eyes.

“I did. Come — I'd hate for the food to become cold,” he invites, to which you accept with a nod as you hop up on the chair and start eating. The foods taste washes over your taste buds as you eat, the food being as good as ever.

“I’m assuming you like it, [name]?” Zhongli asks. You swallow and beam at him.

“I do, Zhongli. Your food will always be a gift to eat.”

Despite Neuvillette not exactly knowing how to show his appreciation for the ones he holds dear, he wasn't so clueless to how he could express himself (kind of). He liked to give you gifts — and you loved receiving them. Said gifts were seashells, to be exact.

You've decided to have this little jar of the seashells he gives you. You can tell that some of them are bought while some he found himself, which is what most of them are from.

Maybe you could go seashell searching with him once? You think it'd be a fun idea.

You wake up, rubbing your eyes and stretching. You turn over to look at your bedside table and see a seashell — a very pretty one at that.

It was simple. A pretty, slightly dirty white color with some sand still on it. You smiled tiredly at the shell. You grabbed the shell to look at it, the shell glimmering in the orange rays of sun coming through your window and curtains.

You get up to put it in a safe spot, making sure you're gentle with it. Maybe you should return the favor and give him a shell as well?

(Personally I kinda see mama reader and al haitam (idk how to spell his name, shoot me dead I guess) are those very serious, very sticks with their job people that you really don't know if they're married, but the moment they leave the akademia—the moment they leave for the day! His small little smile! The way they would try to hold each other's hands or slowly intertwine with each other.

I also see mama reader and kaveh being that couple that's like, "I LOVE MY WIFE!!! " and mama reader is like, "... kaveh, darling, stop embarrassing me" but they like it shhh) mmmm the thoughts are getting to me.

THAT'S ABSOLUTELY THEM 😭😭

Let me tell you a fun fact about Kaveh's & his wife's relationship: he had to work a lot to court her. Mama reader took an interest in him on their very first meeting. However, she didn't accept his feelings entirely until he paid all his debts. Something about “how will I know you're serious about us when you can't even put your life back on track?”. Harsh words yes, but that worked to enlighten Kaveh's goals.

That's how serious (and whipped) he is about his wife.

Alhaitham' & his wife' dynamic were perfectly described here. When they're at work they put their focus entirely on it. Sometimes you can find her in his office so they can have lunch or a cup of tea together. But only when they leave for they day you see a slight intimate & affectionate side of him towards his wife.

Kazuha' & his wife's dynamic is the calm, gentle, and tired one but helpless in love with his excited, flirty & funny wife's persona. Not a chaotic dumbass way, though. Just a very exciting way. My girl is just madly in love with her husband and adores her children very much! They prefer to be intimate indoors, but they’re not afraid to show some pda too.

I'd describe Cyno' and Mama reader' relationship as looks like a cinnamon but can kill you (her) x looks like can kill you but sometimes is a cinnamon but can kill you too (him). Cyno has that grumpy face that scares most of Sumeru's citizens but all his defenses are put down when his wife shows or gives him some affection. And when he gives her some pda you can see flowers twirling around her. In general, I'd say they are that typical couple which one doesn't need to speak for the other know they’re being heard. They work pretty good together!

I'd say the trope of Neuvi and his wife would be that classy, fancy & untouchable couple. Mama reader has a more laid-back personality tho. Being a merchant, she sometimes displays seductive and manipulative traits but this only works with other people. Neuvillette knows very well how to deal with her and she loves him for it. They're very affectionate with each other indoors.

Not completely biased but Wriothesley has a dynamic similar to Kaveh's with his wife. He had to dig deep to reach her heart so now he's enjoying his happy married life as a reward for all those years she had played hard to get. Don't get me wrong, they were always into each other but their lives weren't easy. Anyways. In their dynamic, there's a lot of teasing, sometimes some pda & flirting (this one mostly comes from reader).

And finally we've our dear Lyney who'd steal the stars and the moon from skies if his wife asked him to do so. At the beginning of their relationship, they clearly presented a shy, blushy & whipped (him) x friendly, teasing & flirty (her) trope. But as they got to know each other and the relationship grew stronger, I'd say they settled into a sweet & calm dynamic. Sometimes Lyney can't help but show his extreme enthusiasm toward his wife and she can't help but be his reason for breathing hahah They've a very lovey-dovey dynamic.

Hey uh I just need to make a quick post about Natlan because I am enraged.

I didn't watch the livestream, but I've seen enough infos to know that Hoyoverse is trying to break the boycott up. A free standard 5 stars for the anniversary??? Quality of life updates that we've been asking for since early game??? You've got to be fucking kidding me.

For those of you that still don't get it, Hoyoverse is trying to bribe us.

Do not stop the boycott because they decided to be generous. I repeat, DO NOT STOP THE BOYCOTT BECAUSE HOYOVERSE IS BEING GENEROUS. They're purposefully doing this in the hopes that we'll stop calling them out on their blatant colorism and racism.

I know the trailer looks cool. (I haven't actually seen it but meh.) I know there's Capitano, and he's a much awaited character. But remember, the Natlan archon is still white. She's based off a Polynesian goddess and she's dressed like a biker girl.

I'd also like to point out something about the standard 5 stars. Two of them are Sumeru characters, based off real people, and completely whitewashed (and sexualised in Dehya's case). Also, they were the only characters added to the standard pool since the beginning of the game. And yes, I know the Inazuma argument (Inazuma is closed off so it's more difficult to level up characters for early players), but what about Fontaine? Why didn't Hoyoverse add Fontaine characters to the standard pool? Why did Hoyoverse give Dehya, a much awaited character even by the Chinese players, a shit-ass kit? Why did Hoyoverse add Tighnari, the first Dendro 5 stars character and first banner character of Sumeru, to the standard pool?

The free 5 stars character should not be celebrated. It's a pathetic bribe, and a reminder that Hoyoverse is colorist as fuck.

It started with Sumeru, and it won't stop in Natlan if we just accept their little gifts. If they're doing this, it means they're worried about the boycott. I say it's a good enough reason to continue doing it.

So remember, don't spend on Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Honkai Impact 3rd, Tears of Themis, and Zenless Zone Zero. It's all the same company, so we can hit them where it hurts multiple times.

As for me, I'll stop posting Genshin or HSR related stuff while I boycott. There's no reason to promote this game if I want to show everyone its flaws.

Hello, I'd like to say first that I am extremely interested in all cultures, and I love to learn about everyone's culture despite skin color. The culture of Natlan is especially interesting to me, especially because of places I've been able to visit when I was young here in America. I'm very glad I know as much about certain cultures as I do because it's very interesting to relate it all to genshin. I cannot stand racism at all, but I'm going to be completely honest, I don't think what Hoyoverse is doing with Natlan is completely racist. When Sumeru came out, I was completely surprised at how dark they made some of the characters. Because of where Hoyoverse originates from, I didn't actually expect there to be that many, and I'm actually extremely grateful that they're putting as many dark characters as they are in Genshin. I think it's amazing that they're representing so many cultures as well. I think this is a huge thing for a mainly Chinese company like Hoyoverse. I don't think they're gonna make the skin colors any better, though. I am a bit upset that some of the Natlan characters are completely white, and I'm worried about what it means, but the quests haven't come out yet, so I can't say if it's good or not. I think that the skin color situation in Sumeru is acceptable because of the circumstances in the lore, and I'm hoping that Natlan is similar. Because of what Natlan is about, I think there will be multiple groups of characters, and some of them just may be lighter for the sake of separation. I also don't think the dark characters are to light. I personally think that the response people are having to this stuff is extremely selfish, especially facing a company based in the culture it's in. I wish some fictional characters were darker, but I still think Hoyoverse is doing an amazing job of representing cultures without including skin color.

i don’t think this is the place to debate whether a notoriously racist company is being racist yet again, but i’ll address all of your points in order because you seem to be well meaning enough

1. ever since the Natlan trailer, people of every single culture meant to be “represented” have been very upset. the general consensus i’ve heard is that many people are excited their culture is going to be in the game, but are upset at the portrayal. for example, i have a Hawaiian friends who loves Mualani, but is VERY upset at the amount of racism present in her character.

2. the “darker” skintones in sumeru are actually incredibly pale. for example, cyno, a character that many consider “dark skinned” has a similar skin tone to me, a white person. the darkest skin tone of the playable characters is barely even brown, and there are new enemy npcs in Natlan who are much darker than any of the playable characters.

3. the boycott is not only about skin colors. it also includes removing of racist caricatures (dori), the removing of the blackface art on a wall in zzz, and the renaming of Arlan’s skills.

4. when it comes to the skin color situation in Sumeru, i am inclined to listen to SWANASA people, who have been saying it was colorist since the beginning. there is no “lore reason” these characters should be paler, considering the real life equivalent of Sumeru is a wide range of countries, cultures, and ethnic groups.

5. calling people of color “selfish” for wanting their culture to be represented accurately in media is incorrect and racist. furthermore, skin color is a very important part of representation, especially when it comes to the cultures Natlan is supposed to be representing, as many of the people of those cultures have darker skin. again, i’ll use Mualani as an example- Hawaiians tend to have darker skin, so it would only make sense for that to carry over. if you genuinely believe wanting a variety of skin tones is selfish, i believe you should take a look at yourself and reexamine your biases.

i’d also like to point out that during the Sumeru beta, there were several npcs who had pale skin that where later changed to be darker. the same thing also happened with the chief of Mualani’s tribe (i forgot her name). also, the open ended question on surveys have been removed, and the moderation behind the Honkai Impact 3rd twitter account has been hiding replies related to the boycott. so, they know about it. i don’t believe the boycott is pointless, and i don’t think those of us who are not a part of the cultures that have been whitewashed or misrepresented have any right to ignore this. those who are impacted directly by hoyoverse’s racism have called for a boycott, so it is our duties as allies to participate.

Hii! I just saw your genshin tier list, I noticed that there is no fontaine characters, what do you think wriothesley’s tier would be?

You're right, it hasn't been updated since before Fontaine. I'll have to ruminate a bit more on where I'd put them officially but I think so far Lyney would be the only SS tier burper in Fontaine. Then probably Wriothesley and Freminet would be S. And Neuvillette would probably be A tier (entirely that high because of some pretty great art).

Granted this may change as I'm behind and haven't done his character quest yet but this is how I see it so far. I do think that Wriothesley is a big eater in general, though especially of anyone in the Fortress. I'm of two minds here, where he'd either try to have more manners as he's well regarded and slightly elevated in esteem in the prison, but I also can very easily see him wanting to be more on a regular occupants level and to be more approachable so he drops the facade when he wants to. I could see him burping when palling around with other prisoners when drinking alcohol or Fonta (since it literally does nothing but be carbonated and he has high opinions on what it should look and taste like) or he's having to chug water or special rehydrating Fonta during a break in the middle of a Pankration match. Just burp softly before he's going to fight again.

There is the interesting thought thanks to this fantastic comic. Sigewinne, like the other Melusine, doesn't quite understand humans or customs, nor their food. So it's very likely that she may view burps as a sign of satisfaction and health, though may even misunderstand their meaning from their types. It may have even cultivated a culture of burps being acceptable since she watches EVERYONE.

So burping is taken as a sign of good health and good food like it is in some cultures, so when people are well fed like Wriothesley, he'll let out large epic belches to show how stuffed he is. Now she might keep overfeeding him and he's having smaller burps during his meals because he's trying to force himself to eat more, but I could see him patting his bloated belly and letting out an epic belch to show it was a good meal.

The only issue is that Sigewinne may not understand different types of burps, just like she doesn't understand that some foods aren't good for humans. So when she makes others or Wriothesley eat food that disagrees with them, they have a bad stomach gurgle and let out a sickly wet belch as they try to keep down the Melusine food. Those days, Wrio is probably just spending all day burping, rubbing his bloated belly trying to get it to settle. He leans heavily on ginger and lemon tea to try to feel better.

EDIT: You know what, an addendum. I very much forgot about the Fonta Cup.

You can fill it up once you win it and it's very much hinted at that Wriothesley has won it before. He's definitely the type that would win that and have it filled and used as a cup for a while. Despite the disclaimer on it filled, I can very much see Wrio winning and in the moment, just absolutely chugging down the entire contents of the Fonta Cup, his abs swelling out as extra Fonta dribbles down his face and chest and then just letting an absolutely monster burp before cheering and raising it above his head to celebrate winning. He's one of the "few that could swallow the contents in a single swig" and just chug it down. But that gas definitely builds up and he fights it as the carbonation tickles his throat and nose until he finally releases it. Honestly I could see many others in the prison actually praising and cheering him on when he does too.

There is the thought along with that there there is A) Wriotheley has a reputation of being a beast of a burper or B) It's the cause of another mystery of Meropide where there loud noises or moans late at night that no one can explain but they find out the truth that it's actually Wrio burping loud and groaning from eating too much.

(*heh. you know, oneshot & another sh- okay. but i swear it's funnier irl. please laugh.)

A betrayal so deep...

part 1.

When you and Scaramouche became more than just acquintances, he made you swear only one simple thing:

To never betray him.

You didn't have to be kind to him. You could refuse to go on missions with him, you could argue and even fight with him, but to betray him? You knew you'd pay for that with at least your life.

Not that you would've had any intentions in doing so. He was a good boss - your business remained your business, you didn't have to bear any responsibities, and of course, you recieved a noticeable amount of money after every succesful mission.

And yet, somehow, you still did it.

You have betrayed him.

Because there he was, standing infront of you, with nothing to bring but his hate, despise and disgust.

Pathetic.

This whole situation was so... revolting. From your point of view, but from his as well, because he comitted the same mistake yet again he's been making his life all over and over. Even Scaramouche himself refused to accept it, but that was the case - he trusted you. Only if it was just a little bit, but he still did it. And now, he was telling himself he shouldn't be surprised that you've become a traitor as well.

Yes, this whole thing was just gross.

"Pathetic."

He frowned, speaking the words on his mind out loud, not caring if anyone can hear him - you both knew you were the one he was talking to.

"You are pathetic. A weak, pathetic fool who wasn't strong enough when it was most needed. I always knew it. I don't even know what made me chose you over all those people," he scoffed, staring at the grass. "That's right. You're nothing but collateral damage. I don't care about you. You deserved what happened to you, it's all your fault after all."

You didn't reply. He shook his head.

"Disgusting. You have decieved me, human. Congratulations. If you weren't six feet under already, I'd end your life with my bare hands."

And that was all. He released a repulsive 'tch', then left your grave.

Not knowing you've never betrayed him, and you were still loyal to him - perfectly alive down there, screaming his name in total despair and hopelessness.

Tᴇᴀʀs ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ Yᴀᴋsʜᴀ.

"Now that I know what happened in The Chasm back then...I can finally put this matter to rest."

↠ Circling back to re-attempt illustrating Xiao. I think I captured him better(?) this time around- I also put a lot of my own sadness into this piece, as dorky as that probably sounds. I'm still very much stuck at one of the lowest points I've ever been.

This concept has been in my brain since completing the Perilous Trail questline. I'd imagine that there are rare moments where even the Conqueror of Demons cannot uphold his emotionally frozen façade, and eventually relents, permitting his grief to consume him. Obviously, physical pain is the very fabric of Xiao's existence- being a Yaksha, he suffers the karmic debt of his (necessary) violence as a guardian.

But in contrast, I'd imagine that emotional pain is a kind of foreign, uncrossable mountain to him, something that- depending on his current mindset and mood- is seen as either a pointless mortal focus, or a terrifyingly solitary level of vulnerability. So, after learning about the fate of Bosacius- and exchanging words with the Traveler- I had the visual of Xiao finally processing his loss, in his own way.

Perched at the summit of Qingyun Peak, he's completely and utterly alone, quietly weeping bitter tears. His body- suddenly diminutive and frail-looking, surrounded by the shaded clouds of his power- is numbly drenched in freezing rain. In tandem with this, I'd also imagine that back in Liyue Harbor, Zhongli stands overlooking the Sea of Clouds, his bearing still and solemn as he senses the immense waves of pain his last Yaksha is finally embracing.

A necessary pain. For only from this, can Xiao possibly move forward, and continue to fight-and live- for a more positive purpose.

There are certain moments where even the gods cannot interfere, and must instead permit the heart and body to accept its own truths.

The note at the bottom of the Tower of Ipsissimus is super important,

because it might outline what we will face in Natlan and Snezhnaya. (+ some other thoughts)

Of course, the contents of the note are important already simply because they mention the samsara cycles and the assumed names of ancient civilizations we haven't heard of before (Hyperborea and Natlantean/Natlantia(or Natlantis?)), but I think it is specifically important to focus on how exactly those samsara cycles and their names are related to the stages of possible soul evolution, and what that means for the further plot Genshin. Once again, I assume that the previously unknown names refer to ancient civilizations that existed in the place of current ones:

Hyperborean - loss of paradise - Snezhnaya

Natlantean - defeat of evil dragons - Natlan

Remuria - original sin and baptism - Fontaine

Khraun-Arya - freedom from the gods - Khaenri'ah/Sumeru

From the list above, several conclusions might be speculated:

The Traveler's story progression is in reverse order to the soul's evolution. I don't know what it says about the Traveler or their place in the world, I just find it interesting. It's almost like reading a book from the end to the beginning, I guess. I find it quite peculiar.

Two of the stages are already complete/have come to pass. Khaenri'ah was a nation free of the gods [I put Sumeru alongside Khaneri'ah because I speculate that, in some sense, to Sumeru Khaenri'ah was its own "ancient nation". By that I mean simply that Sumeru literally stands on the ruins of Khaenri'ah in the same way as Watatsumi stands on the ruins of Enkanomiya, and Fontaine stands on the ruins of Remuria (that presumably drowned) (I speculate the same will be true for Snezhnaya and Hyperborea, as well as Natlan and Natlantis(?)]. Otherwise, unlike other nations, Sumeru does not have a close link with Khaenri'ah (for example, I'd call Enkanomiya and Remuria somewhat a "parent state/nation" to current Watatsumi/Fontaine, but that does not work with Khaenri'ah and Sumeru (at least I think it doesn't currently)). To an extent, Sumeru could also be called "a nation without a god" - because the sages refused to accept Nahida as their god. At the same time, in Fontaine we witnessed both the original sin and the act of baptism (Neuvillette forgiving the sins of Fontainians). Thus, I assume that in Natlan we will witness the defeat of evil dragons, and in Snezhnaya we will see the loss of paradise. I assume that even though the stories themselves will not be straightforward, these are the results we might expect from them. Thus, I assume we might face a conflict between multiple parties in Natlan, and will not be able to stop whatever ruination strikes Snezhnaya (or Tsaritsa specifically).

Some other speculations that are worth mentioning that are related to the Narzissenkreuz quests:

Persona piece. It looks suspiciously like the gemstones used to ascend the characters to their highest level. I'm not sure if we all need to be worried about it or not. Personally I find it a bit suspicious. It also makes me think that the Gemstones can be considered Archons' personal Persona pieces (since each Gemstone reflects something, directly related to the Arhchon's ideals).

Heimarmene. I am now 99.8% sure that Visions do, indeed, power The Fate (TM) of the world. My speculation is as follows: the world of Teyvat inevitably goes through samsaras. Samsaras cannot be changed dramatically without an external variable (a Descender). To ensure the smooth running of the samsara, The Fate (TM) issues a Vision to a bearer. The fates of Vision bearers become locked in a way that 1) does not allow for a change to occur; 2) enforces a certain path on the bearer that is similar to the one of a person from the previous samsara. In this way, the samsara keeps running, because The Fate places all the elements into the right places.

Universitas Magistorum was mentioned in-game for the first time, at least for the first time I can recall. I think it is widely speculated to be Khaenri'ahn organization (it is mentioned in the description of the last Outlander Series namecard). I think it is indeed Khaenri'ahn, seeing as they were working on "reversing alchemical stages", "neglecting the fundamental principles of everything", etc. May they forgive me, but it sounds like a very Khaenri'ahn (or very Gold) way of doing things. The reversal of alchemical reactions makes me once again think of the Traveler's journey that is a reversal of soul's evolution (at least compared to the Ordo's notes).

Rhinedottir was called "R" for the first time (once again, in my memory). Just another reminder that she is part of Hexenzirkel.

Paimon, Traveler, and the build up for the separation anxiety. Once again, Pursuit I & II, I'm staring at you directly.

Chicken-Mushroom Skewers, aka [Traveler's gasp] "was this foreshadowing?!". Aka, why are you like this, Mihoyo. What is up with you and the skewers in Ordo's and Ordo-related quests (I'm just putting it here because I liked the reoccurring joke).

Arcadia popped up again (I say as I got reminded that Kaeya mentioned it once (1) so long ago it doesn't feel real).

Four specific concepts kept popping up: Rule(?), Sustain, Destroy, Create. They kept popping up in connection to the Traveler/the concept of the Descender, so I assume that these might be directly related to each of the Descenders. I think that Traveler was mostly mentioned alongside the idea of Creation (somewhere at the end of the Narzissenkreuz quest but I forgot where), so I'm interested to see how other Descenders could be aligned with other concepts (currently I suspect that the First came to rule, the Second came to sustain what was there, the Third was destroyed (and used to create the Gnosis) and the Traveler came to create (re-weave The Fate?). Perhaps each of the Descendants have a power to "chose" from these aspects with which to align themselves (through their actions and attitude), but that's a whole another speculation.

Alright, I think that's it for now. As you can see, I had a lot of thoughts. What great quests these were! Hope more of such interesting stuff will come in the future. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk X)
