Random Sandwing Royal family doodles. I had like an idea of which traits where from which parents with the sisters, so ever though their designs are different they still look related. So I drew their parents! Top left to right is King Char, King Saguaro (Burn's dad), and finally Queen Oasis.
Saguaro was Queen Oasis's first husband. In my head he's where Burn got her physique from. He was some kind of general, that's where Burn gets it from. Their marriage was arranged, and a lot of nobles weren't happy that the future Queen was married to an outsider. So he gets killed, and Oasis marries King Char.
Char had prominent Nightwing ancestry from around Darkstalker's time. A lot of the upper class wasn't keen on flying off to a volcano, so they took their treasure (maybe some of the royals' too) and booked it to the sand kingdom. Part of the reason the Nightwings allied with Blister was that Nightwing blood.
There's also the Eye of Onyx and a Sandwing royal crest that was going to be a tattoo for burn but that didn't end up happening

I'm still caught up in Cheum accusing Boston of assaulting her brother because he's straight and wouldn't do that while Atom was the one who not just attached himself to Boston but initiated the entire act. It's about Atom lying about every aspect of what happened and everything he said being believed because Cheum's internalized homophobia regarding homosexual desire and casual sex has come out in this attack on Boston.
It's about Cheum declaring that it doesn't matter what Boston says or what he actually did because the literal facts of who he is makes her certain that she doesn't believe him. Because being a gay man who has casual sex is enough to assume that he would not only initiate sex with literally anyone but would assault a straight man while drunk and blackmail him for more despite, you know, most of the accusations against being about how much gay sex he's getting on the regular.
But it's also how damn scared I am that there will be no consequences for this. There are two episodes left. So far the worst thing Cheum has had to do is make a singular apology to her girlfriend that she did within five minutes of being revealed to have her own biases and that was all it took to solve everything and other than that the narrative seems to consistently treat her as being right even when she's being judgemental.
I am worried that the show is just going to... let this all go. Let this slide. Just slip Atom out of the narrative being now we have Boeing to make the world's biggest mess and Cheum has made it clear that she doesn't care if Boston actually assaulted her brother or not.
I have a lot of fears, y'all.

I'm sure everyone already knows this but using only hypersexual male gaze women as ALL sorts of personifications of lust as a sin is misogynistic and boring. Because all the "lust" in fact is happening in the brain of a man who looks at her and likes to see women like this. Lilith from cthulhu mythos is a peak of this surely. She even "hunts men to steal their semen" or whatever. Like dude are you for REAL

In your analysis of jjk 0 (which was brilliant and really deep? like it touched on things that I personally hadn’t even considered) you did state at the end that you were a satosugu anti, I was genuinely wondering is there a reason for that? Or are you not a fan of the pairing?
This is such a funny question that I'm going to answer it because I'm actually not sure the last time I talked about My Feelings on Ships/OTPs and it's always nice to revive the topic.
First, thank you for reading the JJK0 post!! I appreciate your kind words, especially since I feel like I didn't say much of anything interesting at all. I'm excited to rewatch the movie now that it's available for streaming simply bc I do love the opening sequence with Yuta at the Tokyo campus so very, very much. Just incredible use of MAPPA resources.
Second, a thing to know about me is that I'm notoriously contrary about ships. This doesn't mean I don't like shipping, quite the opposite -- I actually love contemplating and coming up with stupidly complex fic ideas for a bunch of different ships. I am a big advocate of treating shipping, and esp. creating content with ships, as a brain exercise rather than a religion. My ships don't need to be real! No ships (and thus all ships!) are real!  I can be easily convinced to consider writing a fic for a ship simply bc I see one piece of fanart or one manga panel where they interact in a weird way. But the flip side of this is that the more obvious (at least in a fandom way) a ship is, the more likely I am to overly scrutinize it. Probably for the last two decades I've had exactly one and only one OTP that I can rely on other people enjoying (Kagami/Kuroko from KNB). My other deeply held pairing opinions are suspicious nonsense things like "Sousuke and Nitori from Free! should be reunited as adults where they conduct an ambivalent but ultimately formative relationship" and "I've read only 150 chapters of HQ but I think Oikawa should have (bad) sex with a woman."
So, when I say I'm a Known SatoSugu anti, I'm 75% joking and 25% reacting to a whole bunch of things, none of which are intended to be a verdict about other people's feelings on the ship, which like all shipping opinions are valid and theirs to have and cherish! It's not about whether or not I think the ship is "real" -- it's obvious to me that to the extent Gege means for that relationship to be very real, even if it is not explicitly romantic, Getou and Gojou are very real, and they parallel other explicitly romantic (if juvenile) relationships, namely Yuta and Rika. In fact my issue might be that it's too real. I don't have any room to interpret or expand on the themes of their relationship because it's all spelled out in the flashback arc and Shibuya Incident. It's obviously very sad, and a story about loss, and I simply have nothing else to say about it. Gojou is a sad pathetic man who misses his best friend that he killed with his own hands -- ok! What else am I supposed to do with that information! (jk but only sort of)
For my taste, and my taste only, this is just one of those relationships where there's both too much and not enough in the canon. I wish we had more of what their interactions were like when they were younger to really help me develop a theory as to why they were drawn so strongly to each other (other than just, Gojou is unbearable so only Shoko and Getou could bear him (jk but only sort of)). I want to know what happened in the in between, after Getou leaves polite jujutsu society and becomes a wanted man. But I also don't know if it matters because, ultimately their story is just a really sad diary of Gojou's feelings that set the scene for the present but doesn't have any bearing on the future (Getou being functionally dead) that I'm interested in. This is a more extreme version of why the Teikou arc from KNB didn't do much for me as well, and why I tend to like the intraschool pairings in that series more than ex-Teikou with each other (so, e.g., Kise/Kasamatsu over Kise/Aomine or Kagami/Kuroko over Akashi/Kuroko). It feels to me like gilding and regilding deadwood. Any thoughts I have about this pairing and what I could add to their story are constrained by its tragic end, which happened way before any of the current story even started. Now, if you wanted to hear my thoughts on Gojou/Nanami in the aftermath...
Last, but not least, I… simply don't find Gojou that interesting…. as a character…. but that's a story for another time. I shall not be cancelled today, thanks!!

HMMMMMMMMMMM...
So, Tim Walz is fine. I have no issue with him, but...
People keep bringing up his kid in the context of how great a dad Walz is, which I'm to understand is the image that's being cultivated for him. I have no issue with that, but someone brought up a People article about his kid's neurodivergency; and how Walz refers to his non-verbal learning disorder and ADHD as quote unquote his "secret power." And I don't like that language.
Learning disorders aren't "powers," super, secret, or otherwise. If a person with one of these disorders wants to call it their power, sure, fine, reclaiming your existence- we stan. But, when other people do it? I don't like that narrative. It's still a disability and often requires support- support that is often very few, very far between, and miserably inadequate in America.
Also, I'm still salty over not getting the buttfucker as our VP. I really wanted to vote the thot daughter & gay son ticket. I want to see a white party at the white house, damnit!

You know what?
I love you, fics that take months to update. I click on the newest chapter and have no memory of this place and get to go back some chapters and rediscover how much i love everything about this story.
I love you, fics that take years to update. I think of you fondly, and know your names, go search for you and see an update from this year and scream, diving in uncaring of any missed details (i will finish the update and read you in reverse because this is a treat you have bestowed)
I love you, fics that probably will never update again. Thank you for being a roman empire for my mind, thank you for teaching me about the ephemeral fandom experience, for inspiring a thousand million what if-s, for being a comfort read and a nostalgia read and a reread.
I love you fic writers, who jump into projects and stories with enthusiasm. I love you when you succeed in pumping out those chapters and that love doesn't go away when you stop.
I love you fic writers who post and then get in your own head and never feel confident enough to update, whether it's at all or whether it's just that one story.
I love you fic writers, who have a fandom or media hurt you to the point of abandoning or having a hard time with their WIPs.
I love you fic writers, who lose interest or have life changes or illness or bad memory. Thank you for being part of the fandom, a core part of the fandom. Thank you for the time spent in the fandom.
I love you, fic writers who try out something new and then stop. You're so valid.
I love you, WIP fics that may or may not ever get finished. Thank you for brightening my day in the way only you could have.
