Oooh uh uh that's difficult. Let's see...

1. My OCs and stories

Literally my only motivation to live. I'm very, very attached to my kids—they are the culmination of my blood, sweat, tears and soul. So anything revolving around them makes me very happy, inspired and motivated. I will do everything for them!! Art, writing, even making games if I can! Merch too! Plushies, accessories, anything and everything. All for them. The thousands of little fictional people, worlds and stories living rent-free in my mentally ill brain.

Bonus happiness points when other people also like my kids and are interested in getting to know them better. Like, if you take the time to approach me and ask questions about them, are willing to sit through hours of me rambling your ears off about characters that spawned from the depths of my hellish critter mind, and also actively want to discuss them with me and tell me all of your thoughts—that is like the ultimate quality to my quality time love language right there. It's the most idealistic, unrealistic, impossible thing ever though, mostly because I have a lot of kids and like. 20+ different stories with several more AUs. To have someone else be able to digest all of that information? No way. But yeah.

Fanart and fanfiction of my kids also make me very happy. I will treasure each and every one of the art pieces/writing dearly. Basically anything related to my kids, I will cry over. I will explode over my kiddos.

2. Various media

As of right now, I'm fixated on Twisted Wonderland (LEONA), Bleach (HITSUGAYA AND HITSUKARIN), One Punch Man (METAL BAT AND BATAROU) and Blue Lock (RYUSAE AND KAISER). Very much waiting in anticipation for the TWST anime, Bleach TYBW Cour 3, OPM Season 3 and Blue Lock Season 2 + Nagi movie. I'm also really invested in the Final Fantasy series (III, IV, VII, IX, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, Crystal Chronicles EOT and ROF, etc...)! And I'm a casual player of Punishing Gray Raven (very much looking forward to Wuthering Waves by the same company)!

I also like books! Haven't been able to read as much as I'd like to these days, but I have books I've bought that I hope to read soon. Gotta read Six of Crows (yes, Lune, I'll finish it). Have also been wanting to collect Bleach's light novels (CFYOW currently). And TWST's novels and manga too, once they're translated (Savanaclaw manga and novel C'MERE)! Much to look forward to <3 Fanfics of media I like are also really nice to read. When I have more time, I'd like to write for the fandoms I'm in.

Pretty art is nice. Good games are nice. Good stories and wonderful characters are nice. Beautiful writing is nice. I'm very simple haha, as long as the media strikes my fancy, chances are I'll look into it and derive some form of enjoyment from it <3

3. Writing/Drawing

If it wasn't already evident from the above two points, as well as my own profile, I like to write and draw. Very much an arts kid (creativity is another thing that I'm not sure I have, but let's not get into that). I'm not good at speaking, so having visual representations of the things I feel, be it via written words or artwork, is the best way for me to express myself and communicate, I find. And it's also fun! When I'm not preoccupied with other IRL commitments and stuck in creative ruts, that is.

4. Music

I know nothing about music theory or playing instruments. Not a music kid. I just like listening to good music. In particular, I'm a big fan of J-Pop, J-Rock, Rock, Instrumentals, EDM and Dubstep, Gothic-sounding music, and others, depending on whether they strike my fancy or not. Favourite artists/bands include Tatsuya Kitani, Aimer, Mili and ONE OK ROCK. Banger musicians. You're free to drop recommendations too! I'm pretty open to most genres. Though extremely selective with a few others (K-Pop being one of those genres haha oops).

5. Spending time with friends

Pretty clear cut, I think. I don't have a lot of people I'm particularly close to, but I do cherish those I consider my friends a lot. Quality time love language—just spending time with them makes me happy. We don't even have to really be doing anything. I just like having their company, and if they willingly seek me out and want to spend time with me too, that's even better.

favorite ship/pairing: while reading i did ship lymond with each and every one of his boytoys which was very entertaining but i wouldn't actually like any of these relationships to be endgame. i firmly believe lymond is bisexual, aromantic and non-monogamous, therefore the only person i would want him to "end up with" is marthe - not as a slash ship but as in lymond and marthe, both in drag, ride into the sunset together to cause chaos and mayhem✨

favorite arc/episode/scene: the hume castle shebacle from book one is my platonic ideal of a fictional experience. just thinking about don luis fernando de cordoba y avila with his "long, exquisite legs" and his perfecto scottish is enough to raise my mood for the rest of the day😁

something i love about this series: tbh the thing i love the most is lymond to the point that i'm afraid to try dunnett's other books bc there will be no lymond in them. however, i will still read them sooner or later bc my second favorite thing about the lymond chronicles is dunnett's witty but sophisticated prose which i'm sure i will find in abundance in her other works

favorite arc/episode/scene: aftg is full of amazing scenes, both quiet and spectacular, but if i have to pick just one i'm gonna go with the first riko roast bc fun fact: i actually abandoned tfc halfway through the first time i tried to read it bc i just didn't know what to do with it - but then i decided to give it a second chance and the riko roast was the scene where i finally comprehended and internalized the chaotic but rebellious vibe of aftg. that's why i never dnf books - you never know which weird selfpub sports anime might become your all time favorite story!

something i love about this series: the way it depicts the relations between the society and people who are treated like outsiders due to their trauma - it always sides with the latter! exemplified by how the team needs andrew and so they have to put up with his little quirks and find ways of communication - instead of him making himself act more normal and agreeable in order to fit in. which i think is pretty much the status quo of writing about trauma so aftg feels very radical in that sense

favorite ship/pairing: damen/laurent, since their love is the whole point of the series, but i will say for me it's more like. i'm obsessed with laurent and so i like that damen gets obsessed with him too and falls in love with him bc that's what laurent deserves. however i do not actually like damen nor do i like the final jump from enemies to lovers in the second half of book 3 soooo yeah. many caveats🤷‍♀️

favorite arc/episode/scene: laurent's duel with govart. listen, i'm a simple girl, i love me some competence porn and power fantasies with swords. also! laurent calling out aimeric for all the bad things he secretly believes about himself which leads to aimeric's suicide. that's some fucked up shit, love it👀

something i love about this series: the witty, backhanded, at times scathing exchanges which i started calling pacatesque dialogue upon encountering it in other books (of primarily australian sff authors who are personally acquainted with pacat, it's a whole thing). i know other booklr girlies like to talk about themes and motifs and whatnot but for me all of that is vastly inferior to lines like "tell my uncle boykiller etc etc". i think i just have lots of bottled up bitchiness inside me and like to live vicariously through characters who can vocalize it in such a brutal yet elegant fashion

favorite character: tyrion lannister. lol at this point you can see a pattern: if he's shrewd, traumatized and blonde you can safely bet he's on my blorbo shelf😅

character i think is underrated: i'm gonna go with doran martell. he represents one of my favorite character archetypes - someone who is seen as a simpleton and a pushover but has actually been scheming and masterminding stuff all along. "oberyn was ever the viper. i was the grass. who fears to walk upon the grass? but it is the grass that hides the viper" - is actually one of my favorite quotes from the series. comparing book doran to show doran one can see how he's sort of emblematic for how the show butchered the dorne plotline😒

character i think is overrated: i did like sansa's journey in the books but they end just on the cusp of her turning from a pawn into one of the most capable and dangerous players on the board - something she however hasn't become, not yet. so i think the hype she gets in the fandom, largely based on the show which skipped a lot of steps in her character arc and made her a very basic girlboss, is somewhat undeserved🤷‍♀️

favorite ship/pairing: i definitely feel a certain kind of way about jaime & brienne but idk if i ship them in the proper sense of the word. their developing relationship is probably the most compelling in the series and some of its aspects are very personal for me as a weird looking ace girl, among other things, so i don't think i want them to become a *couple*. but i do want them to become *something*. if they survive, that is😬

favorite arc/episode/scene: tyrion's trial is one of the most excruciating and heart-wrenching yet dramatic scenes i've ever experienced. i have to admit i remember it better from the show bc that was just Peak Television and peter dinklage's acting?? unparalleled. a scene so epic it made me cry every time i watched it. just thinking about it gives me chills🫨

something i love about this series: i've spent an ungodly amount of time thinking about what makes asoiaf superior to other fantasy series and the character work and complex morality are certainly up there but the one thing that speaks to me personally and which i struggle to find elsewhere is something i call the slytherclaw ethos. normally the characters of western sff are rewarded by the narrative for being brave, kind, other boring gryffinpuff things, regardless of whether they could've *realistically* prevailed thanks to those qualities alone. in the world of asoiaf one is instead rewarded for cunning and ambition - or at the very least it's clear a character will not get anywhere without learning how to play the game of thrones. this difference is at the core of the subversiveness asoiaf gets both praised and criticized for and, as someone who relates to characters who rely on their brain more than their heart and other muscles and would like to see them elevated above generic fantasy protags, i find this approach to storytelling in general and to sff specifically very appealing

If I may ask another, Romeo et Juliette?

A musical that I have a very, very complex relationship with.

It was one of my first French musicals -- not one of my favorites (I have ALWAYS been an Atia and Chouet girl), but one of my first. Good music, Aimer was one of my eternal, lovestruck romantic songs from my teen years, the OTP song to end all OTP songs; Verona was one of my favorite musical songs (once an Escalus fucker, always an Escalus fucker), I loved C'est le Jour (being used to historical lit and period dramas means I have....no reaction to first cousin marriages, so I shipped Tybalt/Juliet, sorry lads.)

There used to be a dedicated French musicals fandom on here, so I was talking with people who were more invested in it than I was, me and a friend once listened to the London cast together and memed it to death. And when that community imploded, I joined the RetJ fandom more specifically after a couple of years. And...I did enjoy it. I was mainly in my own little corner, but I was talking about it, I was creating content for it. I didn't agree with everything, especially the way that Japanese productions were routinely dismissed, and I thought that people could be very harsh on individual productions in a way that wasn't particularly fun, but...I did enjoy the experience. I did enjoy working with other people, especially since, as a Toho fan and ESPECIALLY as an Escalus fan (and as someone who really cares about the women more than Mercutio), I was very locked in my own little corner with a few other people.

I fell in love with the musical. And with Shakespeare's original. I still think that this is My Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, because it is really wonderfully faithful while modernizing it without being grimdark or cynical (yes, even the Hungarian.)

And...I refuse to go into details, because I have no intention of dredging up old ghosts, but it ended. Badly. I evacuated myself from the communities I was part of, leaving them to someone who hated me because I didn't want to split the fandom. I wanted to leave quietly, discretely, while potentially keeping some bonds. They used it as an excuse to spread their smear campaign to my old circles, something that I only found out about over a year later. No one bothered to tell me. I noticed that people were pulling away, some people have even blocked me on here, or else quietly unfollowed me, but I didn't know why and I tried to convince myself it was paranoia. I reached out to someone and they assured me that nothing had been said about me. Something I later learned was untrue. I won't accuse that person of lying, because I don't have a timeline, and I understand wanting to keep the peace, but my reputation and my mental stability were NOT acceptable collateral damage. I was suicidal, dammit, and I'm not just mad at the people who started the smear campaign, but the people who didn't bother to listen to me when I needed them the most.

And...I would say I'm not bitter about it, but actually, I am. Of COURSE I'm bitter about it. Even if I wasn't the most active member, I was there for years. I deserved better. And it has profoundly impacted the way that I still carry myself in a fandom context, because some part of me is always looking behind my shoulder. (I. Have never been able to join the BG3 fandom in the way I'd have liked to for a number of reasons, including my ongoing fear caused by this incident.)

...but, by the same token, I did rebuild myself, bit by bit, with Takarazuka musicals, including the Zuka RetJ. I wrote RetJ fanfic for myself and, without having a fandom to worry about appeasing, I wrote what I wanted -- some of my longest fics of the last three years have been Benvolio/Escalus fics that I almost CERTAINLY wouldn't have published when I had the dead weight attached.

So -- gorgeous musical, the Toho production will eternally have a place in my heart. I'm very happy that I can look at it without shaking now.

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Obviously the arranged marriage AU, which is unfair answer because its the one that isnt published and also not even finished since i decided to rewrite some parts. But it is what it is, i could tell from the moment i finished the first draft that it was something really special and a level above my other stuff. I'm not sure i can put my finger on exactly why, it has a lot of emotion but its still self-indulgent and sex and messy like my other stuff, its not particularly serious or high-brow. But still i think its better, and i tried to think of a fic to say here that was published but none really seem to be a worthy comparison. All i wanted when i finished it at the time was to write more and see if i could keep that level up

M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with? Did it turn into a story?

Though one, i have so many aus in my mind i dont keep track with most of them. I'd say the weirdest kinky ones i have never became stories, nope. And i felt they were all a bit too much for the fandom, that tends to skew 'fluffy' and 'simple' and it was kinda hard to find motivation for my more out-there ideas when i knew wouldn't be anyone's cup of tea. I make aus for myself but when i wrote i wanted to share, so if there was no one to read i saw no reason to not just keep daydreaming about it for zero effort.

But not keep it too vague, the least weird one i had was an among us au…. yes. But going for the space-horror route and mosterfuck shenanigans. The other ones need too many words to explain so you'll have to die wondering.

As for non-kinky im sure i'm simply not remembering weirder ones. But one recent i had was when i came up with an entire plot for an addams family au fic and i was like………. yep they're not ready for it, scrap it. Keep it in the cozy corner of my mind.

Hmmm not really? For me to write i needed to be high-key OBSESSED otherwise i wouldn't even have scenarios to try. And it needs to be a long-ish term obsession, which i also havent gotten in a while. But to not leave this blank i think the closest i got to this in my memory was when i was in the capri fandom i wanted to write something for Jord/Aimeiric because i couldnt stand the slander they got in the fandom (everyone wanting to pair jord in the background of fics (not even jord-centric fics just yk lamen fic where he was just stadning there) with men he didnt even interact with even in aus where aimeric was aliveeeeeee PISSED ME OFF) and i wanted to do it JUSTICE but i never did and my carpi phase is gone so i can only hope someone after me did the justice eventually

I’ll confess my sins. When I skipped the first chapters of Capri I got stuck on Laurent’s description as spoiled and similar to overripe fruit. So i was like ah. Royal Dudley Dursley with a blonde curly wig. Sounds about right. I finally saw some fan art and was like??? Who is this anemic Victorian vampire legolas persona?? Honestly tho in an alternate universe where Auguste doesn’t die and Laurent still dislikes sports but enjoys Veres sweet meats and his metabolism is only the slightest bit slower Laurent is absolutely getting chubby. And Damen. Smh he manages to be shadiest bitch while also being appreciating. Would he insult an overweight courtier who never touched a sword? Absolutely. Would he respect a meaty sumo ringer able to throw Damen around like a rag doll? Absolutely. He seems to appreciate multiple types of bodies just fine (muscled gladiators, frail slaves, sturdy vaskian women) so I feel like he’d also appreciate curvier partners as long as they. Well know how to use their body yk. Oh and what about chubby jokaste? We don’t know enough about akielon beauty standards at all. Sure slaves are probably mostly slender and frail to add to the submissive aesthetic (tho I do remember damens fixation on his female slaves big boobs, dude is far from subtle as always). But if it’s Ancient Greek inspired beauty standards jokaste most definitely rocks some tummy rolls. Either that or she’s got super toned abs from the Pilates classes she visits with the other trophy concubines. and akielon man are properly ripped but is it king-Leonidas-washboard-abs ripped?? Or more chunky functional muscle mass ripped? Perhaps akielon noble women are even trained like Spartan women and egeria was the one with the washboard abs. This is not only hilarious but also one of the best takes I’ve ever read. There is so much to unpack here that I truly don’t know where to start.

You mentioned Dudley, whose weight and fat (derogatory) tendencies are accentuated throughout the entire Harry Potter saga. I think—and this is my personal belief, it is not something anyone else has to agree with—that part of what makes Laurent interesting and redeemable to many readers has to do with the fact that he’s beautiful*. I don’t think many people would be willing to admit that, but Laurent’s pretty privilege as a fictional character is similar to Draco Malfoy’s (in fanon) or other morally grey villains/characters’. Ugly characters are harder to forgive, for some reason.

This got me thinking that had Pacat written Laurent as canonically fat, there would be a lot of stuff going on in Damen’s head that I don’t think we’d be able to excuse as easily as we excuse other (quite horrible) thoughts of his. But also, like I mentioned above, I think Laurent would have a harder time proving to some readers that he’s not Dudley, that he’s not just a stereotype of selfishness and greed and other things fatness is associated with (like childishness or an inability to take accountability for one’s actions). This would happen not because he’s fat, but rather because we see the world through Damen’s eyes. And Damen is. . . Quite opinionated.

You mentioned Damen would be judgmental of someone’s weight based on their ability to fight. So, like you pointed out, he’d make fun of a useless in battle courtier but not of a Sumo wrestler. I think in Book 1 Damen would make fun of anything and everyone, but I do understand where you’re coming from with that statement. It makes me wonder what Damen would think of people with a mobility/physical disability. Or even with learning difficulties. Or just about anyone that, according to him, doesn’t contribute to society. If you can’t be a warrior or a bed slave, and if you’re not in a condition to be a peasant and plow fields, and if you don’t have royal blood in your veins. . . I have a hard time picturing Damen being sympathetic.

Chubby Jokaste. . . I think I’ve always thought of her as a muscled woman, given the fact that Laurent can pose as her in Book 3. There’s been a lot of discourse lately on whether Laurent is muscled or a twigly twink, which I will not get into because I. . . do not know enough about gender and/or gender expression to add anything to any argument. I am also not a gay man, so I don’t know what could be considered offensive. I am also very stupid. I also do not know what the word 'twink' means anymore.

Your ask has made me think a lot about many things I’m usually not interested in. I think it would be interesting to see a chubby Laurent who still knows how to fight, who trains, who does things other than eat and hate. Canon Laurent is slender, and yet he never manages to beat Damen in combat, so I don’t think his ability to fight would suffer much from gaining some pounds. It would be interesting to see chubby Jokaste too, even though I don’t particularly enjoy the parallels between her and Laurent in canon. It would also be interesting to see. . . different types of bodies. You mentioned the Vaskian ladies, which I like a lot, but I don’t think I’ve read or come across any fics that focus on them. I think Vannes’ pet is also described as muscular and big, but I’m afraid I don’t remember the quote and I don’t own the books, so I can’t be sure.

What I liked the most was the ending of your ask, where you went on to add little worldbuilding details. Like I said yesterday, I wish canon was more detailed so we could maybe have something to hold onto when we make certain claims. It’s hard to say which parts of Damen’s thought process are entirely his (as a prince with a lot of privilege) and which ones have to do with his culture. Pacat has pointed out some to us, like the fact that Akielons don’t enjoy certain “spectacles” of the body, like pet rings or public sex, but they do enjoy staring at bodies when they’re wrestling or performing physical activities unrelated to sex. Other things remain little mysteries, in my opinion. Do all bed slaves have the same body type? Do women wrestle? How does marriage work in Akielos? What is everyone else’s opinion on fat people? I’m sure not everyone is like Damen, who we speculate cares about having a healthy body so he can fight and. . . stuff.

I am not saying Damen is the only character who, in the historic period where Captive Prince is set, would have fatphobic thoughts. If Damen was fat, Laurent would be the first one to use that against him, especially in Book 1. I just think Damen fits the fatphobic mold better because he’s described as this hypermasculine character, very into war (I think the blurb of the book calls him a warrior prince?) and manly things. Which is not to say war is inherently manly. Which is not to say Laurent isn’t manly. Which is not to say. . . whatever.

Captive Prince is a fantasy trilogy, set in. . . the past. Concepts such as fatphobia or toxic masculinity are not exactly applicable, but I think it’s fun to explore Damen’s character through his flaws. Laurent has a lot of flaws, but Damen’s are sometimes confused with virtues. In my opinion, they’re at their best when they’re being disgustingly horrible to each other.

I’m sorry for writing you a 90 paragraph response.

* He's almost universally beautiful in the Captive Prince world. Damen finds him pretty, and Torveld, and Jord (we've read that 'cute' quote where he describes Laurent at 15 to Aimeric). Not saying fat = ugly. I'm saying it seems like the 'hegemonic' body type for pretty is Laurent's, otherwise. . . why would everyone he comes in contact with comment on his pretty looks?

Ahh! Thanks babe 💛 This is genuinely so hard though, because there are lots of fics that I really like for like...different reasons? Also I've been writing for...hahaha almost two decades now? (That's scary to say, shit.) And while most of my teenage stuff now feels cringy and all, I've been fairly prolific even during the last few years! But ok here's a handful of the ones that come to mind naturally/right away (with plenty of recency bias I'm sure)...

Sine Qua Non - (Aimeric/Regent) Both the best thing I wrote in Captive Prince fandom (in the sense of like...style, character work, even plot) and also the most underrated. Like, I get that it's a serious take on CSA (as opposed to it being like underage kink or something) and with like lots of worldbuilding of the sort that I don't think this fandom cares for, but still I think it's underrated.

On the Relativity of Truth - (Christian von Brockdorff/Andrey V. Gudovich) My niche interest enemies-to-lovers 18th century RPF epic (well, 10k but that's still quite long for me.) Also, somehow, a 5 + 1 trope.

Like Northern Stars - (Tristheon, Throbb) While a modern AU, I'm somehow so fond of this 'verse. And I do love how this fic ended up vis-a-vis style and plot/structure. There were some things that could have been done better, what with the time constrains and all, but it's 20k of somehow so much of what I have to say about both of these ships lol.

Someone Else - (Robb/Raynald W.. Throbb) I have a real soft spot for this fic. It's definitely the kind of thing that is like...it comes to you in the middle of the night...you write it in one go...and it's somehow Best. I'm very pleased with how this came out stylistically.

Carry Me Home - (Theon & Robb) Well, I couldn't not mention this one lol. Though, I almost feel like my favorite thing about it at this point is that it contributed to the existence of I Know My Kingdom Awaits :D

I just finished all three books of the captive prince series, no one asked me but here are my thoughts and (wrong impressions lol):

-Back when this series was being published and the fandom was very popular and active, I saw here and there art for it but I never felt curious enough to check it out, because although I love enemies to to friends to lovers, 'slavery but make it sexy' is not my thing so I kinda forgot about it.

-Until a few days ago that I saw this beautiful art and decided to give it a chance.

-So based on only fanarts and random book quotes on here, like a show/movie you never have watched but know only through gifs you saw on tumblr, so before I read it, I thought that the blond guy was in the past the big guy's slave, and now the blond guy has captured the big guy as revenge.

-I also was kinda spoiled to the big trues™ but since I got the context wrong, I spend ALL the books 100% being Laurent's apologist lmao I was like "why people say that Laurent was cruel and bad to poor Damen, if anything I think Laurent should have treated him worse, he deserved being treated like that for what he did to Laurent." and you know what, after I finished the books and understood what actually happened, I'm glad Laurent never showed remorse for his actions because what Damen actually did was unforgivable (in my eyes at least).

-I'll be honest, I don't hate Damen but he is not my favorite character either, how could he be so smart about war strategies and stuff, but so stupidly blind to the obvious signs that Laurent was a person that was abused and his harsh personality was the result of trying to protect himself on a place where everyone wanted to hurt him one way or another. I feel like the only reason he grew to like Laurent was because he was horny for him, he only saw the exterior he not least than a million of times mentioned how fascinating he finds his gold hair, his fair skin, and his blue eyes, and just nearing the end is where he "realized" how sweet he actually was. dude....

-I was a bit surprised to see that Nicaise and Aimeric were loved characters? I found both very annoying in all honesty. But I won't deny that I felt awful for poor Nicaise, I cried my eyes out reading how upset what happened made Laurent. In the case of Aimeric it felt so satisfying the way Laurent verbally destroyed him, the way I see it, he deserved it. Aimeric was a traitorous little shit that almost got Laurent and everyone (his fellow veretian soldiers and lover included) killed. At least Nicaise was still a child and didn't knew any better, but Aimeric was an adult, he literally got blood on his hands and still continued with the scheme.

-I don't want to sound like a mean goodreads reviewer lol but a pet peeve for me were all the random "big fancy words" that came out of nowhere, I felt like "the blood orange guy" every time I had to stop to search for the meaning of a word.

-But contrary on what I may sound, I enjoyed the story and all their character development, Laurent's transformation from Ice-cold bitch to the person that would risk it all for love™ was very romantic and sweet to witness from Damen's perspective, I will give him that.

-The end was abrupt and disappointing not gonna lie, after all the shit they had to endure to claim their rightfully titles as kings, I would have liked to see that happen Laurent and Damen deserved to have a big and very pretentiously described coronation, pretty fancy words telling us how beautiful these two kings were on the day their kingdoms were painted red and blue celebrating that all in the end was worth it! love and justice won! but oh well, I think maybe the author intention was deliberately not give a "this is the end folks we can all go home now" as not to close the door to a possible new book with new adventures of them.

See, what my dear friend up there knows about me is that I am One of Those Fans who, if I like the canon, cannot stand misinterpretations of the characters.

(And here I just deleted a HUGE essay on Laurent CaptivePrince and Nureyev PenumbraPod)

Mostly, to me, that means don't soften them. Embrace or even highlight their flaws, and use that! The amount of rants I have had in my friend's dms about wooby-ing the characters and how that erases what makes them most interesting... Let characters be assholes. Let them be wrong. Let them make mistakes and feel guilt and learn from that.

'uwu my problematic fave did nothing wrong' is, I am so sorry, the most boring take in fandom.

But I'm a characterization fiend. There is nothing more I love than discussing and debating different interpretations of scenes and motivations. That's my bread and butter. Talk to me about the moment where Juno sat in that empty room on the Carte Blanche wasting time he didn't have because it was cleared out so intentionally. Talk to me about the way Adam hears "Do it then, for me." As a directive instead of what I think it is, a plea. Talk to me about the way Laurent sees Aimeric as a version of himself that he wants to destroy.

I'm passionate and sometimes, as stated, insufferable, but I am ALWAYS up to talk characters.

01. How did you find out about anime?  Omg, I’m kinda afraid of this one because it all really begun recently, if I remember correctly, it was 2020 and my best friend made me start watching BNHA. Oh boy, little did he know that once I like something there is no turning back and so I started digging more and more. But let’s not forget those times when smol kid Nuu didn’t even know the word anime existed but enjoyed Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2 anyways.

02. What’s your favorite anime?  Haikyuu!!🧡 I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it, every time I recommend it to someone I have to start watching it with them and I get all the emotions as if it was the first time all over. 🕯️Prayer circle for season 5🕯️ 

03. Do you have a favorite J-music/K-pop group/singer?  Without a doubt: Centimillimental, I thank Given everyday for introducing me to this talented man, he is my favorite. Following real close is Eve!! There is definitely not a bad song omg. I also listen to a little bit of King Gnu, Burnout Syndromes, Aimer and thanks to my sister I’m starting to get into K-pop with Stray Kids, Tomorrow x Together...

05. Currently, what is your favorite fandom anime?  I’m not sure if I’d be able to pick just one, maybe it’s because I haven’t been long enough in each one of them(? but with every anime/manga I start I gladly join and want to stay forever in that fandom.

06. Despite the ups and downs of Tumblr, what motivates you to stay here today and do your best? I don’t think I have experienced so many of the downs of tumblr since I just got back a few months ago, but one thing I know for sure; tumblr was the actual motivation to endure 2021, then I started finding lovely people that made tumblr even better... so, basically it’s the first app I check every day lol. I wish I could get to know all of you a little better ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

- when i was young, i saw yamato nadeshiko airing on tv so i went ahead and watched it. i eventually ended up watching more anime afterwards.

2. what’s your favourite anime?

- i'd say naruto since it's the one i grew up watching the most.

3. do you have a favourite J-music/K-pop group/singer?

- yes! i actually like a lot of artists/groups... but to name a few JP artists: aimer, ado, eve, vaundy, tsukuyomi, yama, & lisa. as for Kpop artists: exo, iu, big bang, red velvet, twice, dean, jooyoung, & loco. i've also discovered some CN artists recently.

- i'm an adult, that's probably enough info haha

I actually don't remember the one cdrama I tried watching. I'm pretty sure it might've been one of those mainstream remakes like Boys over Flowers or something.. And yes I do listen to Japanese and Western artists! For Japanese my current favorite is 4s4ki and Western would definitely be Charli XCX. How about your favorite Japanese and Western artists? ^^ Ahh, I still want someone like Kazehaya to be my boyfriend (ʃƪ˘⌣˘), he's such a sweet guy and patient and just a big good package lol All those song choices are soooo good, especially Eyes Locked Hands locked. When I first listened to that one, it immediately grew on me~ For IU, I'd say I really love the meaning and feelings she poured into My Sea. I'm pretty sure I heard she made the lyrics herself to represent herself and her struggles growing up. I also enjoyed the fact that she made the song 5:16 long because that's her birthday! Dreamcatcher I definitely should watch out more for, I did really enjoy their song Boca though For me I too tend to watch a genre depending on how I feel at the moment, so it's random but I like to watch a lot of Romance/Shoujo/Thriller/Mystery/Action, Historical hits at times too! I thought I checked out your creations before when I first looked at your blog but I guess I didn't because wow your creations are literally so imaginative with all the layouts and templates and themes!! I really love them omg! I've always wanted to make more than the ordinary gif but never did so because I just believed that no one would like what I come up with/didn't have confidence in myself, but your stuff is really motivating me atm to do so!!! Huhu remake could be hit or miss. I watched first few eps of 2011 remake of hana kimi and didn't like it. I also read that the Korean adaptation focus more on the romance rather than the camaraderie and friendship b/w the characters which is what I love about the original japanese ver.

I never heard of 4s4ki before but I know charlixcx, not familiar with her music except for the 2-3 songs I heard. idk why but from the songs I heard she remind me of carly rae jepsen who I listen to.

omg yes my sea is good too! I wish I can magically understand korean because I will never understand IU's lyrics fully as it intended just because most of it could be lost in translation. However her voice alone could convey it's meaning. The way she sings (especially her ballad songs) just captivate me and make me stop and listen. I can't even imagine how beautiful it is in korean.

I really loveee Taylor Swift, I've been listening to her since I was like 11. I discovered IU 2 years ago but she really jumped to the top really quick as I feel like she and Taylor have so many similarity.

As for Japanese artists, favs are omoinotake and the gazette for band and for soloist aimer. There was this group that I really love called flower but they disband 😔

I want to watch more shoujo/romance but I'm quite picky when it come to this genre 😬 The last shoujo I watched was the snow white with the red hair, didn't pick up season 2 as I didn't enjoy it that much. Hmm.. historical huh? I don't think I watch any. Do you have recs?
