People in the fandom who think synths are mostly robot or don’t need to care for basic functions fell for Institute propaganda and have not been paying attention the the various examples of robot sentience past the gen 3 synths.
Not to be a nag about it but the Institute is very much like the synth equivalent of Tennpenny Tower for ghouls. A lot of the information they have is warped to make them seem less horrible about creating a type of human purely to enslave. To find out if a person is a synth is literally impossible with out prior knowledge or death of the synth. Synths regularly enough “gain consciousness” or yknow realize there is more out there beyond the Institute that it’s hard to say they don’t have sentience. Its fear, brainwashing and the very real fact that if they for a moment step out of line they (as they know themself) will be erased or straight up killed.
Even the robots in fallout have a sort of sentience. They may not be able to disobey their primary functions in certain cases but they have opinions on things and can get very opinionated about it. Prominent examples are Cogsworth, Curie, Yes-Man and Ada. I know the difference is one is distinctly believed to be masquerading as human but that’s literally their only “crime” if you can call it that.
It’s such easy bullshit to debunk with canon and a lot of the confusion comes from a lack of second thoughts. The Institute created synths for hyper specific and inhumane purposes. Why in Earth would they propagate information that says:
“Yeah these things are basically people that we made hella strong and forced in to subsigation through threats of death and mind wipe to the point they’d rather escape and have their memories of this place cleaned rather than live and remember their horrible treatment. But not they don’t have sentience or like human needs… I think.”
Like these are your guys? This is who you’re taking the word of? Wake up Commonwealth!

The funny thing about Pharma and the Delphi situation is that that's where the concept of the DJD was first introduced (with the first scene with the DJD at work happening literally the issue afterwards, issue #6) and literally the more you learn about the DJD the more it vindicates Pharma in his paranoia and being convinced that he couldn't ask for help like
In the Delphi issues we learn that the DJD hunts down Decepticon turncoats/traitors/etc and that Ambulon, one of the Delphi staff, was a Decepticon traitor. We also learn that their leader is evidently terrifying in addition to being a t-cog addict, but that's it.
Except in the subsequent issue #6 and all issues with the DJD afterwards, we learn a variety of fun facts about the DJD such as
Several of the members either literally transform into torture equipment or have said torture equipment built into their bodies
Their leader, Tarn, the guy with the t-cog addiction that forced Pharma into blackmail, can kill people with just his VOICE
We later learn that the DJD have a fanatical devotion to the Decepticon cause/Megatron such that they literally worship an idol of Megatron
Even later on, we learn that Tarn's kill-you-with-his-voice powers work both over the phone and via recordings of his voice
Tarn is also very talkative during torture sessions and he seems to find pleasure in his stupid, smug-smart guy persona where he likes to describe to victims what's happening to them and why. And there's no reason he wouldn't apply this to Autobots just as much as he does to Decepticon traitors
The DJD have access to signal jamming technologies that make it so that even if their victim can get a help signal out, no one will receive it until weeks after the fact
Their entire system of hunting people down is based on pursuing them no matter what, isolating them from any help, driving them mad with psychological terror, etc
They're capable enough warriors to slaughter an entire ships' worth of people, apparently without sustaining any meaningful casualties
They're drug addicts that are prone to overdosing and/or losing control and slaughtering people while they're under the influence
So like???
If Pharma was only privy to HALF of the things that we as the audience know about the DJD, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Pharma probably wanted to call for help at some point, but was convinced that doing so would lead to 1. the signal being jammed/blocked so no one would help anyways 2. him and everyone else at Delphi (including the TRAITOR WHO IS ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES) would be horribly tortured to death by fanatical Decepticon torturer freaks.
Like I get that in the text Pharma only says that he did the Red Rust stuff so that he wouldn't be caught/blamed for the t-cog deal and is prideful about how he stopped the DJD from murdering Delphi, but like...... there's no fucking way that Pharma going "oh I didn't want to get in trouble and also I'm better than everyone" was his PRIMARY reason for everything on Delphi. Pharma didn't go from perfectly normal/sane Autobot doctor to raving egotistical maniac because he was always an asshole and he decided to solve the DJD issue in an asshole way. It's bc according to all canon evidence we have of the DJD and the way they react to traitors/Autobots, Pharma had every reason to fear for his life and believe that no aid would come to him.

Your drawing of Umemiya's phrase "We don't thank oxygen every second we live" where for Takishi his oxygen is Endo drives me crazy.
Because just. This idea of Takiishi being highly dependent on Endo and never noticing/carrying to notice it until Yamato is gone is so SO entertaining and amusing to me.
It's unlikely that Endo will actually leave in canon because this guy is far too gone, but maybe some argument, “pause” of sorts after the main encounter or something similar, so he spends less time around Takiishi.
And imagine during that period Chika slowly understands how much Endo's presence actually meant to him.
Food, whether ordered or cooked, feels different.
(Because Endo always knew how much of and what spices Chika liked in his food.)
Time flies either too fast or too slow and he's either late or way early.
(Because Endo was always the one who kept an eye on things like that.)
He has to deal with people much more often than before, no matter how boring or annoying it is.
(Because no matter where or what they were doing, Endo was always the one who dealt with the necessary people and social interactions overall.)
He slowly realizes that something amiss and that "something" turns out to be the lack of background sound in the form of Endo's constant chatter about various things. Even the fights seem incredibly boring and more monotonous than usual. Which makes him also discover that it's because he no longer feels the gaze that always follows him during the said fights.
Everything piles up to be just so utterly wrong.
It's gone to the point where Chika is ready to climb the walls, but the funniest thing would be if almost nothing has changed in general. They still live next to each other/together, Endo still looks at Takiishi with the same passion and adoration in his eyes, plus they spend a lot of time together! It's just that now Endo hangs out with Sakura too and. Doesn't spend all his time around Chika like he was doing since fifth grade?
(I don't think they actually spent their time 24/7 tied to the hip, but since Takiishi became the constant in Yamato's life, somewhat unexpectedly for both, the same thing happened with Chika as well. And now he can't comprehend that Endo has another person he willingly spends time with. Not used to him not being around as well.)
So yeah. Chika being mentally in his “ml chasing after mc” arc because his gay crush suddenly doesn't pays him attention in the same doses he was used to before lol
takiishi and his stupid dumbass ml disease is really funny. "you can't look at anyone else but me...!” type. he's still going home to you dummy he just has friends outside of you again
codependency 💪
