Integrating Your Mac with iOS Devices for a Seamless Workflow
MacOS and iOS devices work seamlessly when integrated into one system. Under this ecosystem, they provide users with unparalleled connectivity. iCloud is the platform that brings them into one environment. From there, users can work on documents and transfer files. They can share contacts and sync photos. This ecosystem seamlessly accommodates iPad and Apple Watch too. Discover the different ways to integrate the Mac ecosystem with iOS devices. Through integration, users experience a seamless workflow.
Use continuity features to boost productivity across your Apple devices
Apple’s Continuity feature lets you use your Mac ecosystem combined with other Apple devices. Activating this feature lets you work smarter and connect from one device to the next. You need to sign in with your Apple ID across all to use this feature. Keep your WI-FI and Bluetooth on to keep them interconnected. Here are the different apps that you can use with the Continuity feature.
Open Continuity Camera. Continuity Camera lets you connect your iPhone to a Mac and use it as a webcam. Whenever you take a photo with your iPhone, it appears on the Mac immediately.
Apple integration gives you a unique experience in your workflows. Your devices however may generate more junk files since they are interconnected. More often, many of the junks remain hidden but they affect your devices. Your Apple device maintenance routine should include cleaning them. If your Mac has accumulated junk, use the CleanMyMac app to discover and remove it. The Mac cleaner scans deep into the system to identify any unwanted files. Users can use it within the Mac ecosystem to remove old and broken files across your devices. Cleaning your devices ensures you continue experiencing seamless connectivity.
Make and answer telephone calls. With Apple Integration, you do not need to leave your Mac to make or receive calls. Whenever someone calls you, a notification will be on the Mac screen. Open the notification and answer the call. If you need to call someone, access contacts on Mac and call.
User AirDrop seamlessly. AirDrop lets you share data in an instant. You can use it to share contacts, images, or videos. It does not matter where the photos or videos are located. Just highlight them, drag and drop them into the device you want right from Mac.
Use handoffs. You can start working on a document from one device and later take a break. When you return, you do not continue working on it from the same one. You can access it from another device and complete it.
Use Mac universal control multitask between macOS and iOS devices
When you need to multitask, the Mac universal control lets you do it with ease. This feature works with macOS Monterey and later versions. It lets you use one keyboard to connect between a Mac and an iPhone or iPod. You may connect an iPhone and another Mac and control them from one Mac. The Mac’s trackpad or mouse and keyboard let you do this.
Enjoy seamless entertainment across all devices
Some of the benefits of Apple products are their resilience and power. They are good for entertainment be it music, shows, or TV. With Apple integration, you can sync all the devices for smooth entertainment. To do this with ease, follow these steps.
● Use your Apple ID to log in to each device.
● Sync your Apple Music Library with all the devices.
● Sync them with other third-party entertainment platforms.
● Begin to stream and enjoy entertainment across the entire ecosystem
Share internet and browser tabs
Apple integration with the Mac ecosystem lets you do more. On the System Preferences, you can activate internet sharing. Tap the iPhone’s Hotspot icon to begin sharing. You can also access your Safari browser tabs across the devices. Open iCloud and allow sync for Safari. It does not matter which device you are using, you can access the same Safari tabs on each.
Improve the security of your files with Apple ID
Apple ID allows tight security for your files. The feature demands two-factor authentication to allow access. You may use your biometrics such as Touch ID or Face ID. With this feature, your files remain secure. In case you lose your Mac, you can use Find My to locate it. The computer’s built-in features let you erase your documents remotely. This ensures no unauthorized person access them.
Conclusion
Apple integration across the Mac ecosystem lets you boost your productivity. The process brings your macOS and iOS devices into one environment. This lets you access all files across the devices. You can sync them to access and share music, contacts, and files. Using your Apple ID enhances the security of your data and devices. Syncing them lets you share internet connection and safari tabs within the ecosystem.

Genuine question, if Apple sucks and Google sucks, what phone do I get? Like, I'm a proponent of Fuck Google, but I have an Android cause I'm a bigger proponent of Fuck Apple, and I don't really have a great way to reconcile these feelings of conflict
I address this a bit in the degoogling pamphlet; iphones are genuinely better for privacy and I think the phone side of apple is less terribly reprehensible than the computer side if for no other reason than market forces prevent them from gouging quite as excessively. If you own an android your best bet is to turn off location data (everyone should be doing this for all of their devices anyway) uninstall as many apps as possible, force stop or disable as many apps as possible, deny every possible permission it is possible to deny, and never use your phone for sensitive work.
Your other option is to look into linux phones, which are out there, but don't have the same kind of app ecosystem or broad support as ios or android.
And the thing that I really think everyone should do that nobody actually likes hearing is to stop using your phone as anything but a phone. They can't track your data if you don't use it. I recognize that people need phones now in a way they didn't in the past (2fa is a huge part of this; people are either using SMS or apps to verify and that means it's not as easily dismissed as a necessity as it was 10 years ago) but there's a huge part of me that's like "I want to replace my smartphone with a jitterbug."
If you can't actually replace your smartphone with a jitterbug you can at least pretend that it isn't anything but a phone with a few limited extra tools.
(Also this is my "the boomers are right about..." thing: everyone should uninstall navigation applications and go back to reading maps and pre-planning their route to their destination)

This isn’t going to be a grand essay as I’m still feeling fairly low energy but I didn’t want to leave my two cents unsaid on this as it’s somewhat personal.
One thing I’ve noticed from all of the recent lore.fm events is the awareness of podficcing is much lower than I’d previously considered.
This is an absolute shame: podfics are great and there are many amazing narrators in fandom. One of the generalizations I saw made in the (regretably unarchived- lack of foresight on my part after I saved their videos) lore.fm comment section was how there was no natural sounding voice to read fan fiction at all ever and that’s why this proposed product was exciting for many of the people in those comment sections. Which is blatantly untrue as we have had natural voices even reading porn at times for years coming from the lips of actual people.
Obviously it’s not the same since not everything is a podfic all the time so check here for the fairly comprehensive guide @chaosisbeauty23 released recently covering native features of both iOS and Android devices and more.
Other than that though if there is a podfic scene in the space you find yourself in within fandom it’s well worth supporting. Narration is a skill and there is dynamism to the ebb and flow of a storyteller walking you down an author’s lovingly crafted web that is delightful. If you couldn’t tell I really do adore the podfic scene and certain podfic narrators have literally led me to new fandoms I wouldn’t have considered before with their voice and skill. It’s actually the reason why I still have blanket permissions attached to my work for recordings made by a living person reciting any of my works.
In that spirit: if you feel like checking just look up the tag ‘podfic’ on Ao3 next time you’re in your favorite tag! Or if you’re feeling adventurous just search through the podfic tag itself and find yourself somewhere new.
Typically you can filter by length as well and all the tags attached to the initial fic are typically on the podfic’d one. The podfic post is connected to the authors post as well via the ‘inspired by’ feature 99% of the time as well!
Fandom is an ecosystem of sorts and podfic readers are a native species here: they deserve more love 💜

I am so tired of this brand pissing contest.
All of the metal bricks do pretty much the exact same thing. There isn't a better one. Just a slightly different user experience.
It basically comes down to 3 things. UX preference, ecosystem, friends/family.
Some people like the UX of iOS, some prefer Android. Either will do almost all of the same things. Android allows for more customization and tinkering. iOS tends to keep things stock but has more reliable apps—though Android development has improved.
Some people have PCs. Android and Google services tend to work better with a PC.
Some people have MacBooks and iPads. You would be silly not to get an iPhone at that point, because the integration of Apple products is seamless and kind of amazing.
And finally, what is everyone else in your group using? If they are mostly on iPhones, you will find communicating a little easier if you also have an iPhone.
There is one thing Apple does better than other manufacturers that I should include. Longevity. They support their devices for pretty much their entire lifespan. They allow software updates for as long as your phone will tolerate them. And since their hardware design is unified, you can always count on getting a well made product no matter the price point. No need to research each model to see if it is prone to break or has an exploding battery. This point makes me a little frustrated because so many iPhone users will upgrade every year for some reason. Unless there is a new feature you absolutely need, this is wasteful.
Android flagship phones tend to have decent longevity and get continued software updates. But there has always been an issue with the more budget models being forgotten about after a year and receiving no more software. You need to do a lot more research to see if the manufacturer of a particular line of phones has a history of quality manufacturing and good support or if they abandon their phones once the warranty period is up. I tend to steer people toward Pixel phones if they don't feel like doing the research. Google has been decent about long term support so far.
You have to evaluate your circumstances and choose the platform that will serve you best. In all honesty, you can make either work regardless. And you will probably have a few frustrations no matter which you choose.
Brand loyalty is stupid.
Pick what suits you best.

Apple, Google under criticism at Brazil’s antitrust agency hearing
Some practices of these Big Techs are under investigation by the regulator

A public hearing held at the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) on Wednesday (19) was marked by a series of criticisms from companies and associations aimed at the operating systems of Apple and Google. Some practices of these companies are under investigation by the Brazilian antitrust watchdog.
The CADE heard from various representatives to discuss the digital ecosystems related to the iOS and Android operating systems, including executives from Apple and Google, respectively. While the companies defended their systems and denied anticompetitive practices, associations of competitors echoed the accusations.
The hearing was convened at a time when the authority has been expanding investigations against “Big Techs,” as reported by Valor, but sees some of its decisions being challenged and even overturned in the courts.
Additionally, the Lula administration is expected to soon send a bill to Congress to regulate Big Techs in Brazil, proposing the CADE as the responsible body for overseeing major digital players. The text will also suggest a preemptive regulation (ex-ante), similar to the model in the European Union, which is strongly criticized by the regulated companies.
