the problem with me wanting to write out a whole entire fic with all ocs (like, my tmm next gen fic, or my fangan ronpa series) is that ppl read fic for the established charas and getting into smth new requires SO much more attention and energy imo (which is why /i/ struggle to watch/read new stuff all the time! so I get it!) and I guess maybe not a lot of ppl want to even click oc-only or oc-heavy type of fics so they don't even give it a chance! which again i GET but. but also its like. pspsps this story is fun and good if I do say so myself u want to read abt my ocs sooo bad *enticing u with treats*
#i was talking abt this w a friend and idk what the solution is still#just talk abt the ocs more publicly??#???#even then#its very hard to get ppl interested not including friends who indulge me KJSHKDS THEY R OUTLIERS. EXCEPTIONS.#bc they hear the Details more n we already kno we got similiar tastes u know. i would like to entice STRANGERS to be interested as well#madam cherie is a fucking outlier too and does NOT COUNT dp fandom is wild for being that nice abt an oc that does NOT happen in most#other fandoms HHKJHSDKF#sanchoyorambles#i guess this is also why ive been dragging my feet abt posting or even writing tm2#i HAVE a full notebook abt it! all the lore!#and i have FUN working on it but like...#idk i feel like all creatives like attention on their stuff right TwT;;#tmm fandom is actually kinda small but when posts get popular u see ppl be like#'oh i loved this show as a kid/teen!' but the ACTIVE CURRENT FANDOM who has consistently liked it for a while and regularly interacts w pos#posts- or makes their own- is actually kinda smallish#like u see the same 10-20 ppl which is kinda cozy but also. pspsps look at my ocs#but also i always feel like. weird posting my ocs in the main tag too...brain prablem....#anyway all of this to say ocs are fun and good to make i think eberyone should make lil ocs and insert them into ur fav series#tbh tm2 is like. i had SO many unanswered qs with tmm that i wanted to try to answer them myself#with fanon stuff or whatever#so yes its oc centric BUT it dives into lore and world building in a way the og series did not which i think is good#i like a fan series that can add onto the original#actually if anyone gen wants to read abt my ocs check my pinned post i have a directory for them and a page for them on my webbed site :)#uhh only the tmm ones are on there rn tho#i plan to make sections for the other ones but have not yet#<- procrastinator#i still wanna update the ekleipsis website too uggggh but i havent done the chapter illus yet or the chara pagessss or the spellcheck#clawing my own eyes out#too

once again seeing shit on twt and i saw it here multiple times too and i just have to say
the passage that 'you write/draw/make edits for yourself in the first place and it's fun as it is!!! and you shouldn't want attention or gratification!! otherwise you're somehow a bad person!!' - sucks ass
i'll hide the rest but i want to write it all down because it's been bothering me for a while
it may be surprising for many but many published and famous authors also write because of money it brings them? and fame? and recognition? shocker right. yes, not only because of this (tho some do it mostly because of all of the above and that's why many books are shit yes come at me bro tell me i'm no critic etc etc idc) same with artists etc. and it's okay people have no problemo with it, it's actually expected for them to get paid and praised. another example - youtubers. they create shit, they are monetized, they have income etc and yet i think you heard them say at least once 'i'll release the next vid once the previous one reaches ~~~likes and comments'. and again it's nothing really. it's always your choice whether to buy that book, see that film, watch that vid, leave that comment and like. you do it or you don't
in fandom we do everything for free (i'm not talking about commissions) and yet when many creative people ask to simply reblog our stuff for it to be seen because it's how tumblr functions - we're met with the whole ass lecture that we can't Demand anything from people, and that well if you don't get shit then you're not as good because greatness always finds a way, and basically we should be grateful for what we have and shut it. it's like a Scandal every time this topic is brought up. how dare. feels like i'm running here with a gun pointed to their heads and shout at them to reblog my stuff or else. and then those same people and many others are surprised there's lack of content except screencaps and texts we've all seen a hundred times and that people left for other places and fandoms
if i wanted to create only for myself i would've never posted anything here or on any other platform. why should i, i'm only satisfying myself, right. fun! but it so happens that i also want connection with fandom, and yes, boo me, i want attention and maybe even praise sometimes. and that isn't some vile thing to want. we are all humans and we thrive on such things and yes nobody suffered from a good comment or a reblog with excited shouting
and surprise, when i see that my stuff is doing well and people reach out and people are happy or sad or just experience the emotions i wanted from them - i want to make more things quicker and i want to progress and i want to share. double win
nobody owes anybody here. you don't want to engage at all? it's your right i won't hunt you down. really, i will make my stuff regardless, it's just i don't owe anybody here either and i can choose to share only with those who are interested? and way more popular people can do the same? because why spend the energy if people only consume things silently or just glance at it and scroll down and get real defensive about their right to only like stuff on the reblogging site. dw i won't do it i'm too much of an attention whore for it and i'm not afraid to admit it. anyway it's not a ~threat~, i'm simply stating that people who create stuff can do whatever they want with it, they created it for free, 'for themselves in the first place' and you can't get deathly offended when some of them move places, change fandom just because they get what they always wanted from it, remove their stuff or lock the next chapters of a fic for the people they want to see it, especially if you were a silent spectator this whole time
idk i'm not going anywhere really with this i'm just mad how we really are 'content creators' in the eyes of many. only here to throw up our 'content' - art, fics, edits, gifs - for it to be consumed silently in some abyss, reposted, stolen, and be grateful not to be eaten by it

hi im shy so i haven't interacted b4 but i luv your fics! i like that you write stories & just don't post smau or twt porn links.
Hey nonny! TY for liking my work, its appreciated!! I do encourage you to interact though, even if its just a comment or continued anon msgs cause they do encourage me to write. I also really like receiving them <33 so I hope you or anyone else feels comfy to interact with me. *i dont bite i promiseeeee*
However, I honestly don't think theres anything wrong with smaus or twt porn links.
I incorporated smaus into my fics before. I adore writing or reading a good crack fic/post so I definitely think they have their place too and they are funny! I just personally struggle when it comes to writing shorter content so not something in my wheelhouse to do. (lol anything i write under 1k words i automatically think is dogshit. lol someone teach me to write short stuff i beg.)
Also I be EATING UP those twt porn links!! I don't post any of my own as my twitter is a stan account and I don't follow/like/retwt porn on there cause I don't want to mess up my algorithm. But I do be bookmarking them HEAVY! They are good reference material for my smut fics tbh.
Also I try to stay out of the mess/discourse cause I feel like people should be able to enjoy what they like without writing lame dissertations in defense/debating about it. But since we are on the topic already I'll add I haven't really understood the hate for them in particular, especially those saying people who like/post them have porn addictions because what!? Like we are not all on here to write/read smut?? pot---meet--->kettle. Anyway I guess I can understand the frustration some have when they assume they are stealing attention away from fics, but idk tumblr is huge and there is a place/audience for everyone is my belief. I've seen many long 6k+ fics breaking 20k+ so I think theres interest in long fics as well (one of my 7k+ fic has 18k+ notes). But I work in marketing, am getting my MBA right now and have worked in the middle of business and creative my entire career (at one point i worked for Twitch directly with streamers/influencers) so I can say when it comes to anything content/creative driven its honestly it's less about the quality of the individual work and more about regularly finding, interacting and catering to your audience if you really care about notes that much . I think its far more important though to do it for fun. Especially since we are not getting paid and doing this for free-99! So much creativity gets stifled when its too much about the business/results/notes side and you are working to please others/for clout. Thats a whole ass job in itself lmfao! I used to write on ff.net back in the day (years ago omfg) and stressed myself out so much from all the reviews/requests that I ended up abandoning it and was scared to write fanfics for years because of the anxiety of 'letting ppl down' until I got back into it last fall and decided to stop giving a fuck LOL.
Ahhh but I could ramble on about that for hours so let me stop I'm doing what I said I didn't want to do cause this is def now a mini dissertation from me going down the rabbit hole on this LMFAO! (im long-winded af lol)
But ty for the ask nonny I hope you come back soon <3

i hate the way being able to see how special something is but not being able to explain it to anyone feels TwT i keep finding rly interesting tertiary media from mlpfim, like the official ttrpg, tails of equestria, and its rly cool and is just like, a rly creative and interesting expansion on the show.
mlpfim had so much untapped potential as a setting and it hurts so much seeing that potential like, wasted and unappreciated. there was this golden age where it was ultra popular, but hasbro reacted too late with like, building on that. so by the time they started funding the rly cool shit the attention was gone and it all went unsung. its so dumb and its all like a money and capitalism problem. but also its a problem of no one cares about mlp anymore except the diehards. that series deserved so much more i hate that its over and rebooted with a soulless cgi cashgrab thats just using the mlp branding to try and sell toys. mlpfim was so good and no one cares anymore and it had so much potential that never got achieved and the only ppl who still care are like, diehard weirdos who can see what could have been like me. and so many of us are like, trying to tap into that potential and create stuff based on mlp and that at least is rly cool. stuff like fallout equestria and all of vylet pony's stuff are great examples of ppl like, properly utilising the potential of the setting. in my head i can rly clearly see how mlpfim's world of equestria is on par with the forgotten realms or magic the gathering's setting, or like, any other living ongoing fantasy setting like that. hell its better than a lot of comparable settings that are way more successful. and it has so much in common with dnd in particular that just isnt evident bc of the marketing and the way its portrayed.
if you watch the show you can tell its a deep and complicated fantasy setting, the show is just focusing on a very small part of that world initially, and expanding in fits and bursts and every so often you get like this look into something huge and complex and cool and it never gets fully explained and its such a waste! its so weird.
and tails of equestria was exploring that stuff it seems like. and the movie, and the very brief action figure line. and the last 2 or 3 seasons. it feels like it was rly starting to tap into that potential and then it just ends. it sucks and im mad and i want more mlpfim.
but idk i guess thats where fan content comes in right? its our job to carry the torch after all the funding disappears. i just wish there was like, some way for that to be official? or like, officiality not mattering and fan content being like, legitimate and gathered in one place somehow would be rly cool. god. i hate capitalism.
clearly i have to make a soulslike set in equestria.
